this song came up on shuffle as i was getting ready for the day, and it's those kinda songs you forgot about until you hear it again after a while and think, "i remember how obsessed i was with this song!"

the song's stripped-down arrangement allows his voice to shine brightly, accompanied by delicate acoustic guitar strumming. the instrumentation creates an intimate atmosphere, emphasizing the song's emotional depth. his seamless transitions between soft and powerful vocal moments are so captivating, making you want to keep listening to hear the final note.

the genuine emotion conveyed through his vocals is enough to move even the most stoic listener, leaving an indelible mark on the soul.

if you like joni mitchell or bonnie raitt, i would definitely check jeff buckley out!

Yup! Any time you see hair curled up (or braided) it is a lot longer irl than the curls or the braids.

This is just as true for these sort of 1920s marcel waves as any other curly hair.

What I find interesting is how "normal" she looks at the top left with her hair hanging down to her shoulders. But of course at the time people would see that look as odd and eccentric, whereas today it's marcel-waved hair that looks strange and artificial to us.

People of the 1920s were so used to marcel waves as what "normal" curls look like, even the Bride of Frankenstein (1935) has them!

Check out those white streaks, and marvel at the sorts of curlers she must use to get that effect ...
