So... me and my best friend got an idea... so we did this xD

No Sad Song For My Broken Heart (Please Don't pt.2) // K.Will MV spoilers!!

I can't believe we have been told the twist since the very first seconds. It sucks when you are aware of visual storytelling and you notice broken watch and black suits, then strange feeling creeps in because you don't see photo at funeral, then you notice a random butterfly AND you also know K.Will loves twists and sad songs but you keep lying to yourself till the very end 😭

So from what I gathered in MV, the summary of their continued story: Jaehyun got divorced (him showing empty finger like the reference to Please Don't!), Inguk who kept his distance was happy to get close to him again. They hang out together, enjoying each other's company. But still, he was barely able to hold his feelings in, quietly suffering on his own (the desire to kiss, I wonder why we weren't shown him actually trying to kiss Jaehyun like in the teaser). Jaehyun noticed and realized Inguk's feelings for him but couldn't do anything as Inguk got into accident. And now Jaehyun is the one with unrequited love, as he wears Inguk's watch, misses and thinks about him all the time.

Some more details hinted throughout the video:

"Butterflies represent the soul of a human who died and is on their way to the afterlife. They are a reminder that although your loved one is no longer physically present, they are still always with you and watching over you." Inguk's soul is watching over sad Jaehyun, but he still hides because they cannot interact.

Inguk character's watch was shown broken, because his time has stopped. Jaehyun's is still going – but it's Inguk's watch he wears (did he repair them so he could have a memory about him?).

I do believe the hug has happened, it feels like Inguk couldn't bear unrequited feelings anymore, as he says (not translated in subtitles):

"There is something I couldn't tell you... Can I hug you just once?"

After the desperate hug, he walks away, and Jaehyun shouts after him. Inguk stops, turns and returns back to Jaehyun... the continuation of which we don't see because the shot of teary-eyes Jaehyun from the tunnel cuts off to the same shot of him at Inguk's funeral.

Which makes me think – maybe Jaehyun returns to that tunnel alone because he feels guilty for not shouting, not stopping Inguk that day after the sudden hug? Since that's exactly when the memory/imagination cuts off back to funeral. Because right when Jaehyun realized and should have faced Inguk's feelings for him, if he didn't stop him, Inguk soon died in an accident without any hope.

And the MV ends on the black screen and Jaehyun whispering: "I miss you... (I want to see you...)"

So in the end, Jaehyun is the one alone, suffering from unrequited feelings because the person he realizes he's missing very much and might have feelings for, is now unreachable.

Which makes it a perfect second part of the sad gay story, full of parallels and symbols, and a perfect K.Will's song and another perfect heartbreak for all of us :')

There is indeed no goodbye song/sad song that can suit this type of broken heart...

P.S. I now need the God aka K.Will to put them all into Love for Love's Sake world to give them their happy ending afterlife, we can't end like this!xD

All in all, the aesthetics in color of early 2000s (bless, they didn't follow the mainstream sound of how people are categorizing early 2000s nostalgia alsdjkfhklasjdfh), the Ive elegance woven into a bright, spring album, A+, 10/10, much enjoyed!

What a fun song~! Absolutely won me first listen, definitely has that ethereal dusky wind-in-your-hair backlit euphoria to it, riding on top of a little high-heel, chin-up confidence. Powerful and pretty, in a stunning sort of way.

Yujin's part in the second verse runs rent-free on loops through my head, and the pre-chorus to chorus Ascends, I love the little transition/nod sound between them, and the way everything bursts into the chorus-- and that even that eruption of sound still outdoes itself and explodes in the final chorus, high note overlaying and all.

Visually, what a pretty mv! Exactly the sort of thing I expected from the teasers we got, and captures a sort of aesthetic that perfectly fits and conceptualizes Ive's niche. The set reminded me of that one Twice set in Scientist, but perfectly set it in a cultural and very specific nostalgic-reminiscent mood that I absolutely adore. Pastels and clouds and all. And tying it in with the lyrics? Absolutely beautiful, love!

Accendio

I won't lie, the first line set me off a little XD Why are we talking about priests, what's going on girls lol BUT THEN-- the actual ascension in the chorus outro? Those harmonies and chord building coming out? Hello there~!

Lyrically, it perfectly encapsulates the entirety of the album, and I think the chorus achieved the perfect balance in catchy and elegant that Baddie was setting them up for last comeback. I also love that I could catch this battle between evil and good in the production before the mv dropped-- the second verse drops you straight into a basement of bad intentions, and retrospectively makes that opening line confession make so much sense. It gives the pre-chorus the desparation before the chorus comes in with it's commands-- it's spells of protection almost.

And then the mv!!!

Oh what an mv. Everytime a storytelling mv graces us, I want to put it on a pedestal and run a presidential campaign for it because THISSSS WE NEED MORE OF THISSSS~~~

I love main character Gaeul, I love the girls power up moments into Sailor Moon-esque heroines, and then battling evil versions of themselves, (shoutout to the stylists, oh, keep doing what you're doing!!) I loved all the fight sequences, I loved the quirky plot of keeping this wand safe and then losing it, I love the ambience and color of the whole story-- it supported the music so well? The fast moving parts, the scenes where we could gasp as Yujin slammed her hand into the glass and beckoned us back, the throwback into the timeline, the fight sequences~

Really well done, Ive. A beautiful mash of elegant into a fun turn-of-the-season summer comeback.

Blue Heart

Heyo, Wonyoung written beauty!

The production draws straight from the lighter parts of Accendio, in that protective but smiling, fun image, in a spell, a promise of letting you come close but never as close as you want. It fits perfectly between Ice Queen and Accendio, in a heroine protecting herself, floating just above it all, but when she drops into the mess of it in the chorus, it's fully armored and confidently winning. And I do love the verses and the ascension in the bridge where it really does feel above the clouds and touched in the pastels of a free sky, and how perfectly it contrasts with the chorus.

Lyrically, I'll let her speak for her own song, because there's something really precious and admirable about the work she put into this song (end of the article):

tldr; She writes it as a tribute to female idols in a harsh industry and the image and personality they chose to put out in comparison to their inner strength to protect themselves.

Sent me right back to Hypnosis from their full album, instant love.

Musically, the production is like a bubbling, clear and fresh bubbling spring in the verses that freezes into the chorus, sharp angles and prisitine edges. It's sea-curly hair and curious smiles over the shoulder into combed back buns under a tiara, looking down their noses, critical, moving from level playing fields to a power play.

The lyrics only supported the imagery it gave me, and even added this undertone of the daughter of Halsey's Castle, especially if coupled with Blue Heart's message, which? Gives me all the brainworms? But anyway XD

Wow

How fun~ This feels like a run through a water park or summer vacation in a theme part in the chorus, and the sit-back and reminisce breathlessly in the verses and bridge.

It's funny how the lyrics talk about being opposites but attracting so well, because it gives me that rush of planets spinning frantically and almost out of control when together in the chorus, and then throwing each other out of their orbits to observe and wonder from a distance, only to be thrown back together for the thrill of it again.

Sorry XD A little more in the brightly colored jungle, in the weeds and unknown of things, before that lovely little astronomically intrumental production into the chorus, where you're stuck to this fun beat, childish in it's fun, almost. I don't know! This song is somewhere between the jungle rhythm and the intergalactic kids ride! And then it finishes and drops abruptly, like it's only there to quickly pass you by before you can hop on and join.

A very fun and chill ending to a bright mini album, that leaves you feeling light!

Ive always has my attention, and if the sheer vocal talent between Liz and Yujin isn't enough, their commitment to their niche of elegance while being able to try and sort invent concepts, has me tuning in each and every time.

Would love to hear thoughts people had on this comeback or on Ive in general!!

I think I figured out why "Spell" keeps making me laugh. It's because of all the "Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" & "Adila kiya akiya shurapoeh" lines in the entire song XD. But can we take a moment to admire how the Performance Unit guys look like Greco-Roman gods (refer to their tarot cards) in the MV?! THE ENTIRE MUSIC VIDEO IS LIKE A AUGMENTED/VIRTUAL REALITY TOUR INTO SOME MYSTICAL VACATION WONDERLAND.

I love how the design time incorporated tarot cards, given that the song is called "Spell". I took screenshots of every scene that I found!

What better way is there to start an MV other than wiping condensation off a mirror? And having the backup dancers flip their tarot cards around Dino was pretty amusing!

Something about Minghao giving Junhui that gigantic heart is just perfect (I stan China line, but Junhui gets priority).

There are so many different sets that each of them could be its own MV (e.g. snowy mountains, sunny beach, grassy fields, sparkly reef, beneath a waterfall, underwater cave, etc).

The choreography of the final chorus reminds me of GOT7's "Just Right" (IYKYK). Feeling super nostalgic right now...

But why is there a sparkly sofa toward the end of the MV?!

Rating Idolish7 Performing Outfits (pt2)

Good Night Awesome

Not sure if these really count, they’re mostly just suits with different colored ties (and various in inner shirt/vest) Though I think these really are a precursor to Perfection Gimmick, with how the Not Riku Center is wearing black and the rest are all wearing pretty regular looking white suits. 6/10

The actual cover has them in different outfits though but I can’t find any images of what they actually look like. I thought they’ve been worn in the anime during some of their talk show segments but I can’t be sure. I wish I could see the rest of the outfit because Riku's wearing a bolo string tie and he usually doesn't. 7/10

Update: 8/10/24:

I somehow found full outfits for them from GoodSmileCompany website. Turns out the anime version of the outfits are a variance of Riku’s. Everyone else’s are just as is, I guess.

Discover the Future

Not a huge fan of these, feels like a lot going on. Aside from everyone’s slicked back hairs which has me baffled and confused because it takes me a second to recognize them, I don’t vibe too much with the butterfly motif. There’s also the bedazzled gems here but also the frilly floofs silks and everyone has a rosette of sorts and belts are also reoccurring. It’s almost a bit too busy but maybe my unfashionable mind just can’t fathom it. Am I a hypocrite for saying MemoMelo is safe and boring but giving Discover low points for being the exact opposite. XD; I just think a lot is going on for a video where they are (what looks like) exploring an uncharted island for the first time. Uhhhh 5.8/10

Perfection Gimmick

I think these are Perfection. They’re simple but effective, exactly like how the song and Iori is. Everyone is wearing a suit and jacket of some sort but the styles are different, there are variance of blacks and whites that's missing in MemoMelo. Also Gloves. 👍

I don't know if the image by sensei was before PerfGim was meant to be with a center change, but I kinda wish Iori kept his blue color instead of the red. The black suit is good though. I should also give points down for Mikki shorts but uhhhh the set is so cohesive I just think they are perfect. 10/10

Restart Pointer

I know it’s an important song to them but I just think the outfits are super mid. I’m not a fan of the checker patterns. They're too strong that I also forget that there are also polka dots too. (The anime made the polka dots larger where the game sprites are smaller dots.) Aside from those, the base outfits are pretty good. I’m giving a few points to the hats and the MV was cute. 6/10

I haven't listened to that many songs in life, mind you, so my answer would be Playing By The Rules by Red Vox (quinn you already listened to it on loop, sorry, no new info for you) I find it very great to my ears on all sound levels, every time I listen to it I try to focus on different instruments because i don't want to get bored of it xD I really enjoy the MV for it too! The theme, the style fits so nicely that sometimes it's difficult to separate it from the song itself (also, i saw that Mason Lindroth inspiration from miles away, so +quadspillion points to this MV!) The ONLY downside (upside in disguise) is that its so short... but! I have this feeling of silent appreciation when it comes up on shuffle play, yknow. Gotta enjoy things while they last! And I guess this song is a good exercise for me. Also if you asked me this question like 8 months ago I would've answered with Reno by Red Vox too .... I think I have a thing for gambling themes in songs- xD oh well

I had to come up with a name based on my attributes at the time, so I wrote something like "artisticArtist" but then in one chat group I somehow got the lore that I am a stump??? So that one originated from there. And then I tried to follow the rules of nicknames by writing "cleverStump" instead, because it's CS which is 1/2 closer to the GCAT rule. Firts of all, I'm so happy that you decided to start to listen to IAMX. Chris Corner is the main reason why I started to listen to electronic music in general and he was the first artist that broke some "rules" for me such as talking about heavy topics like gender expression, depression or society in general in a song. I truly recommend to check his discography :D

Ok, back to the question now XD

I'll try to give the best list possible and make the biggest wall of text ;)

Mind you that this entirely based on my taste and what I've listened trough the years so, maybe we can differ on some visions or choices :D

Ok, first and foremost I want to mention an artist that unfortunately passed away but helped so much in the Hyperpop scene, who's SOPHIE. Her and Arca (btw thank you for mentioning her on the tags of my reblog, it's always a pleasure finding some fans here <3) are the main reason why we have the hyperpop scene now.

She was capable to switch to a melodic song to an harsh, heavy one.

The great examples I can give to you is my favourite song from her, which is also one of my comfort songs, It's ok to cry and Faceshopping, one of the most harsh and known songs made by her.

Another artist that comes to my mind is surely Kilo Kish. I've discovered her through my favourite band of all time, Gorillaz, and I love her since then. Her recent album, American Gurl, has some sound directions that can fit perfectly with OOO's sounds. I'll give here three songs as examples.

Speaking of Gorillaz, their album Humanz has a couple of songs that, in my opinion, can be a great inspiration to them. The first one is She's My Collar. This song had for a long time the title of Best Sexy Song Ever Made to me. Then libidO, skinz and dOra maar brainrotted my mind but that is another story XD.

Back to the song, I think that, for me, OOO should make the new sexy concept based on this song. It's perfect for them. They can even just made a cover, I would be happy regardless.

The other song that can be perfect for them is Out Of Body. And if you noticed, Kilo Kish is here XD

The other artist that I want to mention is Troye Sivan. I know, maybe the choice is pretty obvious but, for me, it's another perfect inspiration for them. Especially his latest album, Bloom. Idk, I think the entire undergrOun idOl serie's vibe (especially the MVs' atmosphere) can be pretty inspired by that. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if one day they'll say that they've listened to this album for me XD

Now, moving to a more industrial and heavy sound, Hatari and Nine Inch Nails are surely great inspirations. I'll just add here another industrial band that might be a good inspiration to OOO of they want to go trough an heavy, harsh sound and even more rock oriented. The band is Rammstein. I'll give here the most well known songs as example of their sound.

These are the artists that, in my opinion can influence and inspire OOO's sound into something more experimental and harsh (such as hyperpop, industrial etc.). Again I've decided to stick mostly on the electronic side since I've noticed that their discography is pretty much based on that kind of sound and maybe they feel more comfortable by doing this kind of music. Hope I'm explained myself perfectly and I apologize in advance if I made some typos

yeah, its pretty obvious that kpop groups do get super prepared and photoshopped to hell in promotional pictures. thats why when you look up their photos from like, award shows or other live events like that, sometimes they may look a lil different. like again, i mentioned snsd, their legs look super skinny in promotional material and videos, but in photos of live events, some girls legs for example look bigger. theyre still thin ofc, just not stick thin.

and like you mentioned, jpop idols arent expected to be perfect or have a flawless look. many times, part of the appeal of a japanese idol is watching her grow and get better and more profesional, which i think its one of the reasons kpop is ages more popular than jpop; many times ive heard o read people say how impressed they are with the complex choreographies of korean groups, something that jpop idols rarely perform. kpop idols debut when they already have achieved some good "performance level" for a lack of better terms.

you know, i dont think every idol company does this, but i always though it was super cool how helloproject actually forbid their idols from having plastic surgery. thats why many of them look so different from another, and i think its awesome theyre not pressured to change their appearances to fit some modernr beauty standard. also apparently they cannot wear braces, i think its because it can affect your singing ability, though it may just be an aesthetic thing, and those inside braces can actually damage your tongue which is not what a singer would want. like you know how airi suzuki has a tooth thats a little behind the others and she has never "fixed" it? i just mention this because i have that literal exact same tooth in the same place. in fact, we have the same smile, which i think is sorta cool.

i liked berryz koubou. they always stood out when you watched them due to having such an interesting assortment of girls: you had two big girls with risako and maasa, the super tall yurina, the very short momoko and captain, chinami who was very skinny and had a darker complexion than the rest, and you also had risako constantly changing her hair color and miyabi dying her hair blonde or orange and wearing light color lenses. i always though goofy berryz (like in yuke yuke monkey dance) or serious berryz (like jiriri kiteru or ai wa itsumo kimi no naka ni) were the best berryz. it was so weird when they tried to shove them into sexy roles like in want! or ai no dangan, the girls look so awkward. and you cannot expect me to find momoko sexy when in concerts she would perform those sexy songs with those wretched pigtails of her...

I think that's something you addressed in your ealier posts, but I lowkey disagree with the fact that ugly people are fated to remain the 'ugly one' in the band even after ps because there are legit extremely good surgeons doing wonders. You can make drastic changes to a face and still have compelling results

There's something dread9ful with the Heavy Rotation MV.... "Mystery Night" (by Angerme (formerly S/Mileage)) lyrics are pretty awful too. All of them were underage, singing about hitting up with a rando during a party...

Koisuru Fortune Cookie was AKB48 peak. I never got into their music but the MV was great - it's pretty rare to have idol MV with that much work done (I think Heavy Rotation MV, as disgusting it was, very polished - isn't its artistic director the same woman who directed Helter Skelter?)

Berryz Kobo went off out of nowhere for "Ai wa Itsumo Kimi no Naka ni" lol I like when idols do assertive songs. That's why I also loved "Otome no Gyakushuu" by Angerme ("Counterattack of the maiden"). But imo nothing will ever top the aesthetic of Momoiro Clover Z for "Birth Ø Birth" - absolutely iconic

Music Monday #236: ATEEZ - Youth release: December 2023 genre: Kpop cw: violence, implied abuse, arson, flashing, unsteady cam

I did say I was going to keep featuring my best boys until they ran out of unit MVs, so if you're surprised I'm still on my ATINY bullshit, then shame on you, no cookies for you. XD

In the past, ATEEZ's members have often commented about how it's a shame ATINY don't get to hear Mingi singing more often, both because Mingi has a great voice and because singing makes Mingi so happy, but was something he'd thought he wouldn't be able to pursue after his voice dropped in puberty. As one of ATEEZ's main rappers, that is what audiences hear from him most often. And with him being paired with his BFF (and main vocalist) Yunho, it was initially expected that Yunho would lead the singing and Mingi would add some rapped verses here and there. Instead, Youth is the Mingi Show with Special Guest Yunho - Mingi does all the rapping (of course) and the larger share of the singing and while Yunho does have some lines to himself, mostly he turns up in the color lines, offering those high notes Mingi can't hit and harmonizing beautifully. And in my opinion, it's the perfect balance as Mingi's voice, especially when in the upper end of his range, infuses a certain wistful longing into a song about why being young isn't as easy as people think and the pressures of life, along with the importance of not facing it all alone.

This video, unlike the MV for IT's You, has a lot more storytelling elements to it. Of course there's still some amazing dance sequences, because Mingi and Yunho are both main dancers, but other than the few group dances, most of the scenes are dedicated to forwarding the story of the power of youth. It's was also mostly shot outside, in cold weather, so that final fire probably felt nice.

If it's been awhile since you last watched ATEEZ's Inception, now would probably be a good time to do that. Don't worry, I'll wait. ;)

Back? Good. While IT's You's callbacks were more in effect than story (since IT's You had very little actual story movement), Youth is much more direct - the scenes are unreal, of course, but still continue the story of Yunho's grief for his elder brother, killed in a horrible car crash, and Mingi's decidedly unhealthy home life. This makes a second suggestion that we're returning to the A 'verse close to the events of Inception, though of course even that is a bit of a herring - Inception is dream sequence upon dream sequence in the first place, with scenes mostly showing the members' backstories, twisted with grief, rather than current events. The "current" of Zero Fever part 1 is Hongjoong getting the team back together, but since the storytelling abruptly jumped to Z for part 2, what happens next is ... what we'll find out in the next major release, I suppose. ;)

THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL continues to kick butt and now ATEEZ are making history as the first male kpop idol group to have stage time at Coachella. On my birthday. The universe is a cruel bastard. XD

Ten was asked about his Mandarin language education. Apparently Hendery had posted a photo of Ten's Chinese homework which was impressive.

Apparently when they arrived for their showcase, Ten spoke very naturally with the taxi driver and added erhua for a bit of local flavour lel. But his natural act fell apart on the second sentence and then it became obvious he had a foreign accent ^^;;

Apparently Sicheng had said he'd wanted to film something with his members and the hosts asked him what kind of program he wanted to film. He said he wanted them to film a survival show on a deserted island to see who'd last until the end X'D I don't know how his brain works.

Yangyang said that his role in the group was that when he needed to be a younger brother, he filled that role, and when he needed to be more mature, he could do that too.

The members were like "...when was he ever didi?" But it turns out that was just when he was bothering people or acting cute lol.

And the members said he was mature when he paid the bill XD (like when out eating)

Yangyang said that while all the others felt like geges, Xiaojun sometimes felt like a didi and the hosts asked him to explain. Kun was like "he's immature/childish"

"(Y/n), c-can I ask you for help?" Unei stuttered. "Starless is coming out with a magazine, and the owner asked me to t-take pictures of the cast members."

Seeing your surprised reaction, the intern bowed and apologized, "I am s-sorry for bothering you! But, the owner wants me to take pictures secretly. I-If I get caught, then..."

Unei looked like he was about to cry. Even you shuddered at the thought of what some of the cast members would do if they learned he was stalking them.

"Leave it to me, Unei!" You said confidently.

You followed Kei around as discreetly as you could. Though you knew he was popular, you were still shocked at how much attention he got everywhere he went. Yes, he was sexy, breathtaking, tall, muscular, had piercing eyes and a captivating aura, and his presence was enough to make people freeze in their place, but...you wanted people to stop staring at him.

Kei sat down to enjoy his coffee and donut, giving you a chance to finally catch your breath. How can he look so sexy enjoying a snack? You thought while taking out your camera. Perfect.

After taking a few pictures, you scrolled through them to check your work, and when you looked back up, Kei was gone. “Where did he go?”

A hand snaked around your waist from behind, followed by a husky whisper in your ear, “Right here.”

“K-Kei...how long...?”

“The entire time,” he replied and pressed his lips on your neck. “I must say you look rather cute when you are jealous. If you want my attention, all you have to do is ask. Now for your punishment for following me around...you will have to spend the entire day with me. in. my bed.”

Getting a photo of Ginsei in his natural environment was far more difficult than you expected. He was either running around, looked exhausted from overworking, or seemed nervous.

You nearly wanted to give up and tell him to pose from you, but as soon as you opened the door to the rehearsal room, your jaw dropped. Grabbing your camera, you quickly snapped a few pictures.

Ginsei looked at you questioningly as he wiped the sweat off his face. His eyes still held a seductive expression, and you weren’t sure whether to stare at his face or his exposed abs. For a while, neither you nor Ginsei said anything - you stared at him, he stared back at you.

“Why is your face getting so red?” He asked. At first, you thought he was genuinely questioning you, but then you saw his teasing smirk. Much to your surprise, Ginsei removed his t-shirt and tossed it aside. “Is there anything else you want me to remove?”

Kokuyou was too sharp for his own good. Every time you tried to sneakily take pictures of him, he caught you. Thankfully, you managed to hide your camera each time.

“Unei, have you seen Kokuyou?”

The intern informed you that he was in the rehearsal room with Mokuren and Mizuki getting ready for their performance. “It’s now or never...”

You took a deep breath, readied your camera, and flung open the door. Within a few seconds, you snapped as many photos as you could and ran away. After you reached a safe place, you scrolled through the pictures. “They...were changing?”

Your face turned crimson upon seeing Kokuyou putting on his belt. “Too bad...”

“Too bad you didn’t come in earlier when I was putting on my pants?”

Slowly turning around, you saw the redhead staring at you with a raised eyebrow. Kokuyou’s lips curled into a smirk as he stepped closer and closer to you. “What’s with the red face? Is your mind wandering to dirty places?”

How were you supposed to take a picture of Menou in his natural habitat when all he did was sleep? You strolled into Team P’s room to find Menou sitting with his back turned to you. Hoping your luck would change, you took a seat in front of him. “Hey, Menou...”

“Is it me, or is it hot in here?” He replied, his words slurring a bit.

“Are you dr-”

As soon as your eyes landed on him, your jaw dropped. Menou’s yukata was slipping off his shoulders, his chest and abs showing, and a part of his thigh was visible. He glanced at you with flushed cheeks and smiled playfully, “Do you like what you see?”

Taking out your camera, you took countless photos before returning your eyes to Menou. He beckoned you to come over, still staring with a sultry gaze. “Come here.”

You straddled his lap and rested your hands on his toned bare chest. Before you could say anything, Menou locked his lips with you. A sweet and bitter taste filled your mind, and the rest of the night was a blur.

Team C was taking a break from rehearsals, but Qu was nowhere in sight. Thinking that you could get a picture of him for the magazine, you went in search of him. He was in his rehearsal clothes, the same outfit you had seen him in countless times, so why were you getting affected this time around? For a while, you traced the sweat droplets rolling down his muscular back with your eyes.

Initially, Qu ignored your presence, thinking it was one of his teammates getting a drink from the vending machine, but when he heard a clicking sound, he turned around. Qu gave you a curious look at first, but seeing your red cheeks, he chuckled. “Were you taking pictures of me?”

“Qu, the break is over!” Hari called out to him from the adjacent hall.

Though he didn’t say it out loud, Qu knew what you were thinking. He walked closer to you and brought his lips close to your ear, “Don’t look so disappointed, my dear. Come to the shower area in the locker room in an hour.”

You took photos upon photos, but none of them appealed to you. Did he look sexy in all of them? Yes, but as his biggest fan and lover, you wanted to be selfish and submit a picture of Sotetsu that you liked.

“Let’s take a break,” you smiled and scrolled through the photos you took.

Sotetsu watched your expressions quietly; usually, you were like an open book to him, but today, he was having a hard time reading your mind.

“Sotetsu, why are you staring at me?” You asked, looking at him through the camera lens. Clicking a picture, you raised your eyebrow and looked at his fingers under his t-shirt, “So...what are you doing?”

“Not being able to read your mind is turning me on,” he playfully responded. “Want to help me?”

“Here? Seriously? And what do you mean by not being able to read my mind?”

You didn’t get a reply from him as he pinned you against the wall and captured your lips. Unfortunately for Unei, photos of Sotetsu’s anniversary pictures were not the only thing he found on the camera’s memory card.  

“Yoshino, if it’s okay with you, I want to see a different side of you in this photoshoot.”

After taking a few photos, you scrolled through them. He looked good in them, but none of the pictures reflected what you had in mind. Reading your mind, Yoshino averted his eyes, “Seems like none of those photos are to your liking.”

“Oh, that’s not-”

The singer shook his head and smiled, “I want to give my best, so will you tell me what you have in mind?”

“S-Sure. I was thinking something sexy and dark? How do I give an example?”

The room was silent for a while until Yoshino spoke, “Dark and sexy like you wearing lingerie with a collar around your neck while I hold your leash and a whip in my hand?”

Your head shot up to find Yoshino sitting with his legs crossed and a dominating glint flickering in his eyes. Holding onto your breath, you took a photo of him. “P-Perfect...”

“I’m glad,” he replied. “Did you like my description? If so, would you like to come home with me after work?”

“Akira, stop playing around! These photos are turning out blurry.”

The singer laughed, “Someone is in a bad mood. Did somethin’ happen?”

You glared at him quietly as you continued the photoshoot. Akira’s confidence started to waver when you didn’t talk to him for 15 minutes straight. Maybe you were too focused on the photoshoot? Maybe you were nervous about the photoshoot? Oh, could you be taken by his handsomeness? Maybe...he messed up? He did something to make you angry, didn’t he?

Akira sighed, “Okay, what did I do to make you upset?”

After a while of pushing you to answer, you finally replied, “You gave all your fans a White Day gift, but you forgot me!”

“But you’re more than a fan, so why would I give you a gift here?”

“What does that mean?”

“A special person deserves a special gift.” Akira rested his elbow on his propped knee and flashed a charming smile while winking, “You will get your gift once we are alone at home.”

“Sin, you look good in all these photos. Which one should I hand to Unei? Let’s see...,” you mumbled as you went through the photos one by one.

When he didn’t reply, you shifted your eyes up to find him intensely watching you. Though your mind froze under his gaze, you managed to snap a photo of him.

Your eyes wander lower to his tattoo before landing on his thumb hooked onto his belt. Gulping, you shyly asked, “Need...help with that?”

Sin smirked, knowing well what you were hinting at. “We are in public.”

His husky voice made you shiver, but his response disappointed you. Seeing your pout, Sin gently took hold of your chin and lifted your gaze to meet his, “The longer a candle burns, the brighter the flames.”

“What does that mean?”

“That is for you to figure out,” Sin smiled while tracing your lips with his thumb. He silently got up and made his way to the locker room, hoping his words would distract your desires for the time being.

You couldn’t stop staring at Kongou’s exposed chest. How can someone so soft and gentle look this sexy? Throughout the photoshoot, you had to force yourself to focus and not let your mind wander.

Out of nowhere, Kongou decided it was a good idea to drink in such a way that the water dripped down his face. Did it make for a sexy photo? Yes. Did it kill your self-control? YES.

“(Y/n), are you okay? Your face is red.”

If this statement came from some of the other men in Starless, you would have thought they were teasing you, but coming from Kongou, it was nothing more than concern.

You nodded slightly as you watched the water droplets travel down his chin, neck, and onto his fine sculpted abs. "No, actually, I’m not okay.”

Before Kongou could say anything more, you kneeled between his legs and licked the drops off his chest. “This is your fault...for looking so sexy.”

“I’m so-sorry...,” he whispered and cupped your cheeks. “Not here, it’s too dangerous. I promise to love you as long as you want after work is over.”

You were nervous about the photoshoot, but Ran’s antics and modeling abilities made you forget all about your shaking hands and pounding heart.

A few minutes into the photoshoot, Ran pulled a cool pose. You were happy with that picture and showed it to him. “I think we are all se-”

As you rechecked the photo in detail, your eyes landed on his thumb. For a moment, you stared at that spot, not realizing Ran was studying your expressions.

“(Y/n), I want to take a few more photos just in case~,” he flashed a wide grin. Much to your surprise, Ran took off his belt and unzipped his pant’s zipper.

“R-Ran?” You stared at him in shock, nearly dropping the camera.

“Hm? This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” Ran laughed, “I am just granting your wish...or do you want me to remove everything?”

Rico was surprisingly patient as you took a few practice pics of him.

"I think I’m getting a hang of this,” you hummed. 

“Good. This necklace is annoying me...the clasp is poking my neck,” he frowned slightly. 

Looking up, you saw Rico’s jacket slipping off his shoulder while he tried to fix the clasp. Click. Click. Click.

His emerald eyes stared at you curiously as if asking why did you take those pictures. Setting aside your camera, you kneeled next to him and unhooked the necklace.

“Your skin is a bit red in that area.” Before Rico could say anything, you pressed your lips on his skin where the clasp once rested. 

A smirk formed on his lips, “Am I that irresistible that you can’t keep your hands off me?” 

“What if I say yes?” You asked shyly. 

The last thing you remembered was Rico hovering above you, staring at you with lustful eyes, as you hoped that no one would hear the two of you or walk into the room. 

Mokuren was patient for a while until you heard their stomach growl. You apologized to them for taking your time with the photoshoot and asked them to wait a moment.

Returning from the kitchen, you handed Moku a snack. While they enjoyed the snack, you played around with the camera. Then you looked through the lens and saw them wiping off cream cheese from the corner of their mouth while staring sharply at you. Click.

Mokuren raised an eyebrow while taking another bite of the bagel. Gulping, you set the camera aside and walked closer to them. Wordlessly, you brought your face closer to them and ran your tongue along their strawberry and cream cheese-coated lips. “Delicious...”

Team C’s leader chuckled, “Are you sure you have time for this? What about the photoshoot?”

“I already got the perfect photo. You’re not the only one who is hungry, Mokuren,” you whispered in their ears before pressing your lips on their neck.

And then we got “Ship of Fools” TWICE, the second version with Keiko in charge of the higher harmonies. What a treat! It sounded amazing. “I reach for the sun” was absolutely lovely as well, I had no idea she liked this song so much.

"Live Stream"

Good evening. Even though the announcement for the live stream was rather sudden, it seems like many people were able watch it, so I'm really glad I did it ♡ Thank you everyone. Since it is just before the release of my 2nd album and many people are reaching out to me to wish me a happy birthday so with this event I wanted to convey my feelings to everyone. When I was thinking about a perfect way to do that, Yuri-Yuri (Yuriko Kaida) suddenly told me that she wanted to swing by to celebrate together with me, at first I thought she was kidding but then we quickly made plans on the spot. Back then I was thinking "ahhhh, to have Yuri-Yuri as a guest would be so nice *laughs* (〃ω〃)”  and I kinda ended up saying it out loud and that’s how the whole thing happened *laughs*

TXT Universe Theory: The Dream Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another one of my theories! This theory will be quite long and will take into account everything in the first chapter of TXT’s story. I won’t be doing Minisode 1 or either of the Chaos Chapters yet cause it will give us all a headache if I do, so yes, there will be things missing. Believe me, I know, I’m just pretending like I don’t know anything for the sake of my mind XD Let’s dive into the theory!

The Protagonists

Name: Choi Yeonjun

Keywords: Promise, guilty, sleepless, apricity 

Association: Paranoid Park

Metamorphosis: Horns

Songs: Crown, Magic Island

Yeonjun is, perhaps, more relevant than his character wishes he was. Paranoid Park, the book (and perhaps also movie) he’s associated with, talks about a 16-year-old boy who accidentally kills a policeman and tries to cope with it while simultaneously hiding what he did. Yeonjun’s guilt can be seen almost everywhere. His Dream-Self grows horns during Nap of a Star, which are generally associated with evil and destruction, and in Crown he expresses his fear of being evil.

In the teasers for Magic Island he says “I think there’s someone else aside from us #itsmyfault”. And in the teasers for The Dream Chapter: Eternity he adds the hashtags #imscared #itwasjustajoke when revealing his association. He did something that makes him feel guilty. He possibly didn’t kill anyone (I mean, if anyone did, it’s most likely Beomgyu, but that’s not here nor there), but it hasn’t been revealed yet what he did do.

I associate Magic Island with him because it talks about promises and about the Odd Eye Cat, which I will talk about more in detail later, but suffice to say the Odd Eye Cat might have something against Yeonjun. There is a small chance that Yeonjun feels guilty about having forgotten their promise with the Star, since his word is promise. Everyone forgot, but maybe he’s more emotionally aware of it.

Name: Choi Soobin

Association: Le Doulos

Metamorphosis: Elongated ears

Songs: Eternally

Soobin is on the opposite side of the coin with Yeonjun. He too is aware about the promise with the Star, but in a very different way. He is perhaps what we would define as a traditional protagonist, as he can hear the voice of the Star well before anyone else can, even if he can’t remember the promise. The first time we see him perceiving the voice is in Magic Island, that is when he starts to feel separated from the group. He’s still unaware of it, but he knows something that the others don’t and that puts a wall between them. In the Magic Island teaser he uses the hashtag “#IThinkImTheOnlyOneWhosDifferent”, and in the Eternity concept photos he says “Why am I the only one having a hard time?” and “Everything is your fault”. He is also tagged as invisible, which alludes to the fact that he feels distanced from the others, and is also the only one to get no interactions on his posts. The fact that he’s blaming someone might be that he’s aware of the voice or that he knows someone in the group messed up.

Name: Choi Beomgyu

Association: The Catcher in the Rye

Metamorphosis: Spines on the back

Songs: ???

Beomgyu is an interesting if confusing character. Based on how he acts in the MVs, he seems to be rather headstrong and confident, much like the main character, Holden, of Catcher in the Rye, a story strongly related to growing up and leaving the innocence of childhood behind. Holden considers adults (and his life) to be quite unfair, doesn’t trust them, and wants to become a protector of the innocence of other children. However, much like Beomgyu, he’s rather headstrong and careless, moving forward without much consideration, which often gets him in trouble. These aspects can be seen reflected on the Magic Island Teaser, where he writes “What’s the problem? Let’s just do it. #rewind #hope #CantTrustAnyone, as well as the Port teasers from Eternity where he says things like “Who saw me that day?”, “We were all together then, right?” and “I don’t think this is the world I used to know” (which is tagged with “unfair”), and uses the hashtags #NothingToHide, #IsItMyFault?”. We do see him start the fire in both the Magic Island Teaser and MV, which might hint to the fact that he feels it’s unfair to blame him when they were all there, and he doesn’t actually believe himself to be at fault. He was just taking care of them.

Name: Kang Taehyun

Keywords: Clue, suspicious, breathe, serenity

Association: Philip Marlowe

Metamorphosis: Star eye

Songs: ???

Taehyun’s character is observant and prefers to stay on the sidelines to catch every detail before casting his judgement. In the Magic Island Teaser he says “There’s got to be a way out” with the hashtag #LetsThinkAboutIt, plus, in the Port Teasers from Eternity, he keeps a reasonable suspicion on his team members about who’s truly at fault and uses the hashtags #EverybodyLies and #IWantToKnowTheTruth. This ties in well with his associated character, Philip Marlowe, the private detective. Both characters keep a distance and analyze everything carefully, never resorting to violence. It is worth noting that he keeps Yeonjun’s teddy bear at the end of Run Away, which in the teasers is labelled as “clue”. Taehyun is always observing.

Name: Huening Kai

Association: Stand by me

Metamorphosis: Wings

Songs: Nap of a star

Huening Kai is perhaps one of the most complicated and mysterious characters in the story, since his role isn’t as established as the others. He’s constantly out of the loop about the situation that is happening, which is demonstrated by phrases like “What the hell is happening?” (Magic Island Teaser) and “What happened?” (‘Port’ Teasers) as well as the hashtags #OnTheSidelines and #IKnowNothing, as well as two of his keywords being secret and lonely. His associated media is also interesting, as Stand by me talks about a man remembering the trip he did with three of his friends when they were 12 to find the body of a missing boy. At the end of the movie, the main character Gordie, recalls his friends and comments on how much he’ll always miss them and how he’s never had friendships like that again. This raises the question if perhaps one of the boys would be the dead kid the others are trying to find. Kai being kept out of the loop could point to him being it, as he’s always trying to reach for them but can’t quite do it, however it could also be argued that either Yeonjun or Soobin could fill that space as well.

The Setting: The Real World vs The Dream World

Back on the very early BTS theories, a lot of us didn’t think time travel or time loops were the answer, but it turned out we were wrong. At first, when working on this theory, I wasn’t sure where I should draw the distinction between reality and fantasy. In the end, I’ve decided that everything is real but in different ways, and I’ve decided to make the distinction between the Real World and the Dream World; after all, this is called the Dream Chapter.

The Real World is, you guessed it, pretty much just our normal world. Nothing magical or physics-law-breaking to be seen here. The Dream World is, well, a world made of dreams. But remember I said everything is real (I know the names I gave the two realities contradict this, hit me up if you have better suggestions). Whatever happens in the Dream World is just as real as whatever happens in the Real World, it’s just in a different plane of existence. It might also be of interest to note that sometimes these worlds blend. 

So, if everything is real in the Dream World, what is real in the Real World? This is a complicated question because even our characters struggle telling reality apart from the dreams, especially because the dreams aren’t just dreams. The fires that occur in Run Away and Can’t You See Me are very much symbolic, but them jumping into the Dream World through the subway in Magic Island is real. The visions they have in Eternally aren’t happening in the Real World either. It’s just a matter of what is supported through other clues and pieces of evidence, which I’ll try to provide.

The Story

So, you know, what is like… happening? Everything is extremely confusing and it took me a while to understand that pretty much all videos are happening like, at the same time? As in, it’s the same event but from different perspectives and slightly different intervals of time. So let’s try to lay down a cohesive timeline.

It all starts with the events narrated in Nap of a Star. When they were children, the five of them (or well, maybe I should say six) met through the Dream world and became such good friends that they promised to meet there again. However, as it happens, they grew up and forgot about it, meeting once again many years later through the school and the company without remembering each other. 

While growing up, they have gone through many different things that have hurt and changed them, which manifested in their dream bodies as the “imperfections” that they all have. I believe these imperfections are tied to each of their characters: horns tend to represent evil, which ties in with Yeonjun feeling guilty and blaming himself for everything. Kai’s wings look angel-like, which fits his sweet personality who helps the “demon” (Yeonjun) and is always believing the best about his friends. Beomgyu is very defensive, which translates into his porcupine-like spines. Soobin is a good listener (plus he’s literally the first one to hear the Star’s voice) and Taehyun is good at observing the others. So these are all manifestations of how life has shaped them to be who they are now.

They become very good friends once again and get along well, nice! However, we know things are not perfect, and they have to confront a series of personal conflicts. Especially Yeonjun, who’s so overcome by the negativity in his life that he starts a fire that can’t be put out in Run Away. This fire is metaphorical, and represents all the pain and stress he’s been dealing with. So what do they do? They try to find an escape from all their troubles.

There’s two ways this could’ve happened: the first one is that they stumble with the Dream World by accident on the Run Away MV when they go in through the pool. This seems fitting because of their reactions. After that they research it and Soobin discovers that there’s a secret magical entrance at a train station, as we can see in the Sanctuary Photo Teasers from the Magic comeback in the official BigHit website. The other option is that this accidental discovery didn’t happen and they simply researched. This would turn their visit in Run Away into a “summary” of sorts of their first impression of the place.

[Translation:

Soobin: I saw how to find the hidden magic platform?

Soobin: When you close and open your eyes there, your dream becomes reality

Taehyun: Woah, cool

Taehyun: (not sure about this one) for real?

Soobin: Should we go together?]

Either way, they get there. Of course, as shown by the door being set on fire at the end of Run Away when Yeonjun looks at it, his worries aren’t entirely gone, but at least they’re under control now, or so it seems. This part of the video also ties in with the end of Nap of a Star. All of the children come together to help the “monster” and they reunite at the Dream World once again, awakening the Star.

After this, though, weird things begin to happen. Someone or something is trying to reach out to them, and causes them to have really strange dreams. This entity, presumably the Star as marked by the pieces of dialogue, even follows them to their practice room, and keeps begging them to remember them. Yes, I think the Practice Room Ghost and the Star are the same character (and I also think they represent MOA, in a way). 

[Translation: Remember my name.]

Here’s where the visions in Eternally come into play. The individual vision each of them has is, physically speaking, nothing more than that: a vision or dream. So they start having these visions, and some of them, especially Soobin who keeps hearing the Star’s voice, start doubting their reality. Plus, weird things start happening in their practice room, so no doubt they end up hearing about the Practice Room Ghost.

They have a conversation about it on the subway, and Soobin goes to mention he had a weird dream but then he backtracks. Obviously, he’s talking about the vision we see in Eternally, because he even says he always wakes up crying from it. In a split second, they decide to stop at the Magic Island using the method that Soobin found previously, and they go have fun there.

[Translation:

Yeonjun: Did you hear about the practice room’s mirror ghost?

Beomgyu: *sland for shivering* A ghost? Wow

Taehyun: I heard about it. There’s no ghosts, you’re just tired and saw wrong.

Soobin: I’ve had weird dreams lately *cries* Maybe it was because I’m tired...

Kai: Did you have a scary dream again?

Soobin: (deleted message) In the dream we...

Yeonjun: Ah, I shouldn’t have said anything.

Beomgyu: What’s scary about this? If there’s a real ghost let’s go and check at night *laughs*

Kai: Hyungs, stop talking about scary things please *cries*

Taehyun: Beomgyu hyung is joking about this too??

Yeonjun: Should we just go to Ttukseom?]

Naturally, things go wrong, what else were we expecting? Their antics end up setting the magic forest on fire, until they end up destroying the whole Dream World, and it leads us to the start of Eternally. One thing I believe to be very interesting is how, when they’re trapped in the storm, Soobin keeps touching his ears, Kai touches his chest like in Nap of a Star, and Beomgyu touches his shoulder. Yeonjun and Taehyun aren’t properly shown but they probably also touch the affected places.

I would argue that Can’t You See Me? is also just a reinterpretation of the conflict they’re going through, both within themselves but also as a group, because they did just destroy their secret place. This is pretty much where the current timeline ends. I’m a bit uncertain if they’re trapped in the Dream World or outside of it without being able to go back, because Taehyun does mention wanting to go back in the Port teasers, but he doesn’t specify where. I want to bet that they’re trapped in the Dream World but I do need to analyze the Chaos Chapter better to decide that.

The Practice Room Star

Yes, this is a play on words, as I fully believe that the Practice Room Ghost and the Star are both the same entity. When they were kids, they made a promise with the Star, but they’ve forgotten it with time, and now that they have reunited and found their way into the Dream World again, the Star wants them back. The Star is probably a very powerful being, since they are able to interfere with the Real World to reach to them, enough to make them confused about their own reality. Their bond seems to be stronger with Soobin, who’s even able to hear them reach out on occasion. It’s uncertain what exactly it is that they want.

The Visions (Eternally MV)

The night of the last day & Song of a Star (Soobin’s visions)

Eternally starts at the end of Magic Island, with the Dream World completely in ruins. Eternally happens before Magic Island, so this dream Soobin has at the beginning is nothing but a prophecy. In the dream, he is holding a book, which we also see Beomgyu with. I think this book is the one they got the information about the Dream World during the Magic era, since the cover is very similar to the symbols we can see in Run Away. 

I believe Song of a Star is the Star reaching out to him. He’s the first one to be able to hear the Star, as shown in Magic Island, and he also references the Star’s song in teachers. The kid he sees is probably the version of himself that first entered the Dream World as a kid (or maybe Kai lol), which might be why he wants to cry everytime he has that dream: it’s the nostalgia for a time he left behind.

Room No. 17 (Beomgyu’s vision)

While I’m not sure what the number 17 means yet, and my research on numerology yielded no results, this vision is particularly interesting to me. Through it we get to see Beomgyu’s more ‘brash’ nature as he defends the book that Soobin was seen holding previously. If that book is their key to the Dream World, then it makes a lot of sense that he’s trying to protect it. I’m not sure who the other person trying to stop him is, but it does kinda look like things didn’t go well for them after Beomgyu transformed. 

Girl of Eternity (Huening Kai’s vision)

Perhaps the strangest of names for visions, this clearly represents how the rest of the members keep moving far away from Kai and become unreachable to him. He mentions several times how he’s clueless about what’s going on and wants to understand, but the rest of them continue to keep him in the dark, so he feels a distance growing between them, which might increase in the future.

Moratorium of Rest (Taehyun’s vision)

Taehyun’s vision is perhaps the most shocking of all, as it shows us Yeonjun sitting on a chair and covered in spines and purple “paint”. Yeonjun is sitting in the middle of a field of all sorts of violets, and Taehyun tries calling him before realizing the condition Yeonjun is in.

Promise (Yeonjun’s vision)

Yeonjun shares the misfortune with Taehyun of seeing his lifeless corpse, except his vision is much less artistic about it. After finding his body, he sees a fire from the corner of his eye, and right next to it, you guessed it, the odd-eyed cat. His vision in particular finishes with the phrase “I thought it was salvation, then.” And here is where things turn south.

Yeonjun’s promise and the Odd-Eye Cat

I have a very strong reason to believe that Yeonjun is in danger of dying an awful death, and it’s only partially because of the visions. Since Nap of a Star, Yeonjun has been followed by the vigilant eyes of the Odd-Eye Cat almost religiously, and it usually never brings good situations with it. It’s bad enough that the neck cut in Nap of a Star is replicated in Taehyun’s vision, that Soobin sees Yeonjun all bloody in Eternally, and that both Yeonjun and Taehyun see the former dead, but there might be some external clues that hint towards Yeonjun’s upcoming demise.

In the official BigHit website for TxT’s discography, where we found out that Soobin researched and figured out the way to go into the Dream World, we can find a picture of Yeonjun reading a book. In English, this book is called The Alchemaster’s Apprentice. This book narrates the story of a black cat who sells its soul to a sort of wizard in exchange for food, since he’s starving to death. The wizard agrees to fatten the cat for a month, after which it will kill it and use its fat for magical purposes.

The cat in this book doesn’t have heterochromia, however I found out some pagan groups in Eastern Europe believe that a different colored eye was a witch’s eye, meaning that the eye has literally been swapped out with a witch’s. I fully believe that Yeonjun made a deal he shouldn’t have, and the Odd-Eye Cat has been sent by whoever made the deal with him to check on him. It might just be that Yeonjun’s time is going to run out very soon, and the visions are trying to warn everyone of that.

Conclusion

Magic exists and TxT might have bitten more than they can chew because they wanted to run away from the problems of real life (relatable). Now, the Star that they made a promise with is trying to reach them, and maybe warn them about something that’s coming. The fact is that they’re not safe, especially Yeonjun, and things might turn south very quickly very soon.
