I'm sure you get a million prompts for how to handle fame so please feel free to completely ignore this but I think it'd be cute to at some point see a fic of Percy watching Estelle and Annabeth interact together for this first time like we saw them meet, but it'd be adorable to see the aftermath of that
-Estelle hasn’t stopped looking at Annabeth since she showed up an hour ago and Percy is starting to feel a little jealous because Annabeth has been giving Estelle almost the same amount of attention back
-“Were the goblins super scary?” Estelle interjects the larger conversation every now and then with another question about Princess Andromeda that Annabeth, very kindly, spends the next three minutes answering
-Honestly, the attention and care she gives in responding to the five-year old’s questions is so endearing to him that it almost overpowers the jealousy, almost
-But then Annabeth’s hand finds him and he suddenly everything is ten times better and he wonders how she knew
-He corners Estelle when Annabeth gets up to help his mom (He had tried to interject but with the way his mother shooed him away he’s convinced that they’re really just talking about him and he definitely needs to grill Annabeth on that later because if his mom pulls out the baby photos then—)
-“Did you forget about your brother?” he asks, trying hard not to sound miffed to a literal child and failing miserably
-But when Estelle grins at him, his heart soars at seeing her so happy (she also hugs him and thanks him for bringing Princess Andromeda)
-He hugs her back and tells her that while Annabeth played Princess Andromeda, that’s not who she really is
-"Duh, I know what a character is," Estelle replies with all the sass of a kindergartener
-He assures her that he never questioned that, but she should get to know Annabeth as a person (He doesn’t want to spoil her fun but with how caught up she in the Princess stuff he wants her to like Annabeth for Annabeth, especially since she’s not going anywhere as far as he’s concerned)
-"You don't want Annabeth to think you only like her because of Princess Andromeda, right?" Is what he says and Estelle looks at him with wide eyes and shakes her head
-He tells her not to worry and asks about school to change the topic
-Which then leads into a five-minute story with more drama than a plot of a tv-show featuring kindergartners passive aggressively not sharing the blue crayon and spilling juice onto someone’s paper
-When Annabeth finally returns (wearing a wide smile that makes him even more suspicious of whatever it is his mom talked to her about) Estelle immediately runs to her
-"Annabeth, what's your favorite color?" she asks, tugging on her hand. She also makes sure Annabeth sits next to her on the couch and it’s clear Percy is going back into the background again
-Annabeth looks a little surprised at a non-Princess Andromeda question but he can tell she's pleased as she answers
-Her answer, by the way, is sea-green and she looks directly into his eyes as she says so
-Rest assured the rest of the time they're in the living room Percy has to fight the urge to kiss her senseless
-Something he does as soon as they get a moment alone
A/N: Thank you so much for the prompt! I ended up adding it to how to handle fame and headcanons ch. 8
I hope you liked how it turned out! And thanks again for sending a prompt!

As I'm reading The Lightning Thief for the umpteenth time, scanning for Percy's dialogue, I've noticed that there's very little dialogue for Percy. Most of the scenes are padded with his inner monologue, while out loud he says very little. I suspect that this partial muteness is one of the reasons that Annabeth thinks he's stupid.

Wait-
Annabeth knew that her dad tried to give her back. She'd never met Athena.
Did- did her dad tell her as a child that he didn't want her and tried to give her back?

Annabeth: Oh, please. Rachel? Girls like her are a dime a dozen.
[Percy pull out coins]
Percy: How much change you got?
Annabeth: Haha, very funny. Just remember, you can't judge a book by its cover.
Grover: Well, there's only one way to find out. Go on, Percy. Go to that library and check out that book.
Percy: I-I can't. I get weak-kneed when I try to talk to cute girls.
Annaebth: [angrily] Oh, and you have absolutely no problems talking to me?

Balance I
Maria was the next to receive dreams. At first it had only been Thia plagued with them and suffering from sleep loss ever since Leah left. Unfortunately, Maria now joined the party.
She woke in a cold sweat, chest heaving, and eyes trying to pry open the dark for any hidden threat. When none was discovered Maria clambered out of bed with a sigh. She was frustrated to say the least. Her bare feet pressed against the cold floor and with shaking hands Maria stumbled her way into the kitchen.
She wasn’t hungry or thirsty, she just needed a different setting. Resting her head in her hands she swallowed hard. She was sick of losing sleep. It had been two months since Leah had disappeared and she’d expected everything to blow over.
Unfortunately, Maria was fairly certain the dreams she and Thia were sharing had everything to do with Eris and the goddess’ plans.
“I thought I’d find you out here.” Maria glanced up from staring at the table to find her mother leaning against the hallway wall.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” Maria sighed. With an exasperated movement she rubbed her eyes with vigor.
“More dreams?”
“Yeah,” Maria snorted in distaste. “I’m fine though, I’ll be back in bed in a couple minutes.”
“Right,” Annabeth nodded, but Maria knew her mother was too worried to ignore her daughter’s troubles anymore. “you sure you don’t want to talk?”
“Positive.” Maria tried to force a smile. The last thing she wanted was to keep her pregnant mother awake until the ass crack of morning.
“You are as bad of a liar as you father.” Annabeth rolled her eyes and took a seat across the table from Maria. “Spill the beans kiddo.”
Maria sighed and drummed her fingers lightly on the wooden table top. She wasn’t sure where to start but her mother thankfully waited patiently. “At first I thought it was a coincidence. Thia said she was having nightmares about something and then a week or two later I had one as well. I thought maybe my brain just made one out of sympathy. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.”
“What happens in the dreams?”
“It’s odd,” Maria frowned, “everything is chaotic. There’s yelling and the sounds of fighting. Everything is red but I can’t ever seem to get a grip on what’s going on. I can’t piece it together.”
“Do you think it has something to do with your friend Leah? Eris maybe?” Annabeth questioned patiently.
“I’m certain that’s the case.” Maria leaned back in her seat for a moment, “But the weirdest part isn’t any of that. Sometimes Thia’s there with me.”
“Are you able to communicate with her?”
“No.” Maria was always infuriated by that aspect of her dreams. “It’s as if we can register one another’s presence but we can’t talk to each other. There’s no verbal communication. When she shows up though, everything changes.”
“How so?”
“Everything isn’t red anymore. It’s quiet, still, white. Almost like a bunch of empty space and we’re just floating in it. It’s almost scarier you know?” Maria looked hesitantly at her mother who wore an understanding expression. One thing Maria knew about her parents: they always grew anxious when everything was too quiet. “Things shouldn’t be that still or calm.”
“It seems like the reflection of her personality. She is a very reserved and peaceful person,” Annabeth noted. She ran a hand through her hair in thought for a moment, “sticking with that idea maybe the chaos is a reflection of Leah’s inner turmoil. You said Thia described her leaving like it bothered her. Like Leah was just confused.”
“Maybe,” Maria nodded “ and it would make sense. I just don’t know what I have to do with anything.”
“Perhaps you’re the middle man,” Annabeth mused. “Someone whose supposed to help make sense of everything.”
“Honestly? All I want is to get decent sleep.” Maria was desperate for one decent night’s rest.
“I know. We’ve all been there.” Annaebth took her daughter’s hand in her own and studied the dark circles beneath Maria’s eyes. “Tomorrow I’ll tell Chiron you’re staying home.”
“I don’t want to.” Maria protested half heartedly. “I’ll be bored.”
“You’ll sleep better during the day. Trust me. Besides, the others will most likely visit and annoy you.” Maria knew her mother was referring to both of the Grace boys. Sol and Grey would be wise enough to leave her alone but the Graces had a knack for intruding.
“Okay, fine.” Maria conceded the point. She didn’t have the heart to argue. “This is gonna sound stupid...”
“Trust me, I’ve heard plenty of stupid things,” Annabeth laughed quietly.
“Would you maybe stay with me? Like when I was little and got scared?” Maria felt stupid for even asking. She was an adult! She didn’t need that sort of comfort but alas here she was.
“Of course.” Maria smiled bashfully, some part of her thought her mother would say no. In the end Maria was able to fall back asleep but only because she was curled up in her mother’s arms like she was four all over again.
Percy woke the next morning to quite the surprise. He couldn’t help but smile. His beautiful blonde girls were all cuddled up sleeping the morning away. Unfortunately for Percy, he didn’t understand the context behind the situation. Maria was definitely worried and the feeling was mutual. All the way in New Rome Thia was struggling with the same issues.
Maria just hoped the answer was simple.

no offense but the heroes of olympus would have been better if percy and annaebth weren't in it or had much smaller roles.

Love your barista/actress series, feels so real for their relationship. Anyway, here’s a prompt. Took this one from a story from my mom and dad when they were dating. Annabeth gets a text from Percy that says “on my way home babe, some guy on Main Street hit me with their truck” and the fic just devolves into annabeth worrying about him but he’s fine and picked up groceries on the way back. Angsty fluff?
Hey! Thank you so much for the prompt! I've been meaning to write on this prompt for a while cause it's really interesting and then I got another prompt that was weirdly similar (what are the odds lol)
So I ended up combining this prompt with a few others and posting it all under:
how to handle fame and accidents
I hope you like how it turned out and thank you so much for sending a prompt! I'm sorry it took so long!

hey i read on ao3 that u had a slightly dirtier version of the skater prrcy fic u just posted and was wondering if u would post it on here?
Annabeth Chase is the most put together person he knows. From her neat handwriting to her very coordinated outfits and the planner she carries around everywhere, she’s impeccable.
It drives him mad.
It really shouldn’t, but every time he sees her walk into art history wearing some color of the fucking rainbow that he didn’t even know existed and take organized notes (it’s a gen-ed, who even tries anyway), it makes him bite down on his lip ring until it hurts.
Annabeth Chase is perfect. And he longs to fuck it all up.
To have her neat blonde hair out of place, wild and tangled between his fingers as he pulls her even closer, breaths mingling while he palms through her half-unbuttoned blouse with her skirt hiked up as—
She’s walking in, and naturally his eyes lock on her as she makes her way to her seat in the second row. Her dress isn’t a bright pink by any means, but she still stands out to him (or maybe just compared to him since everything he wears is black).
He watches her sit down and is that a flower pin on her hair? To match the tiny flowers on the dress? His mind immediately sets to work on destroying the image.
He wants to see her abandon all sense of this properness she carries normally as she moans his name over and over, asking—no begging, for more.
He wants to watch her come undone.
And he wants to be the cause.
Because there is no fucking way someone can be that organized all the time. She never even messes up the normal things to mess up like missing assignments or forgetting the day of a quiz.
So when the professor announces a group project, he jumps at the opportunity to ger closer. (Maybe his only opportunity honestly, she’s never spared him a second glance).
He’s not the only one. It’s clear the people around her have noticed that she’s the perfect student and therefore a great project partner. It leaves him with three other contenders.
His mouth always ends up faster than his brain though so before he can re-consider he just calls out.
“Hey Annabeth! You wanna be partners?”

I love the actress AU so much! It's my favourite!
I have a prompt also, for the same AU—I'm sorry it's unoriginal but...Percy and Annabeth go to Disneyland?
Thank you so much! Feel free to ignore this if you want, and have a great day!
Percy has never considered himself to be a morning person. Most of the time he just manages to drag himself out of bed, even when sleep is beckoning to him, but he’s not…cheery about it.
And yet, here he stands in the middle of his tiny apartment, showered, dressed, and ready at 6 am. Is it overkill when he’s supposed to be picked up at 7? Maybe. Is it overkill when he’s supposed to be picked up by none other than Annabeth Chase?
No.
So much so that he’s actually been up since five and his apartment is the cleanest it’s probably ever been during the years of its tenancy.
He forces himself to sit down and take a deep breath of Febreze’d air. Wait…does it smell too cheap? Maybe he should light a candle instead?
In a second, he’s standing up again and searching for a lighter.
Maybe he’d be less anxious if he knew exactly what was going on. All Annabeth had texted him was, are you free Thursday morning?
And when he had confirmed that he was, in fact, free, all she had responded with was great! I’ll pick you up at 7!
That had been two days ago, and she hadn’t said anything else about it since. Even when she stopped by the coffee shop for her regular macchiato and chat, she’d said nothing about the plans.
The only reason he knows it’s still happening is because she had requested his address last night.
The likelihood of Annabeth Chase stepping foot into his apartment is extremely small, but since she’s given him no idea of what to expect, he’s expecting everything.
He sits back down, having lit the candle, and tries to calm himself. And, as has been the case since three days ago when it happened, his thoughts naturally drift towards his date with Annabeth Chase.
Which, to be fair, is a really big deal. And an even bigger deal that it had gone well.
(The biggest deal is something that still makes his heart race, the soft memory of the brush of her lips against his. But that’s more than he’s capable of unpacking right now).
His phone buzzes, jolting him out of his thoughts as he rushes to read a new text from the subject of his thoughts.
I’m a little early, are you ready? I can wait if not.
He quickly types out a response to let her know he’s on the way, before almost stumbling onto the candle he just lit in his haste to get up.
He blows it out, all but sprinting down the stairs and out the door.
There’s a dark blue SUV and he hesitantly approaches it before the door swings open from the inside and he sees Annabeth’s smiling face.
“Hey!” she greets, looking just as beautiful as ever in her blue jeans and oversized sweatshirt.
“Hey,” he responds, climbing onto the seat next to her and closing the door. Almost immediately, the car starts, and he looks towards the front to see a buff-looking guy with a buzz cut driving.
“Percy this is Frank, my bodyguard of sorts. Frank, Percy,” Annabeth introduces with a wide smile.
“Hi,” he says hesitantly, raising a hand in greeting.
Frank nods but doesn’t say anything.
“Are you excited?” Annabeth asks, pulling one of his hands into hers.
Her touch doesn’t fail to give him a mini heart attack.
“Yeah, but I, uh, don’t know what’s happening…”
Annabeth beams and god, she’s like the sun. He revels in the warmth. “Well,” she starts as Frank merges onto the highway. “Remember when you told me about that thing you’ve wanted to do but haven’t done yet?”

Hey! For actress annabeth maybe them going to a movie premiere? Only if you can, thanks !!
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6 , Part 7,  Part 8
“You ready?”
If you count shallow breaths and sweaty palms as ready, then he’s so ready.
“Yeah.”
Annabeth’s raised eyebrow indicates that she’s seen right through the lie. Not that it had been a good one, for the first time in forever he’s too nervous to even summon his usual careless indifference.
“It’s okay,” she says softly, taking one of his hands in hers. Part of him wants to pull back because he knows how gross his palm is, but she holds on anyway. (He’s secretly glad she does.)
“How are you so cool with this?” he asks, squirming in his seat. Even the limo is starting to feel too small.
Annabeth’s gaze drifts out one of the windows as she absently traces small circles with her thumb on the back of his hand.
“I’m a little nervous,” she confesses. “Not because of you, I just always get a little jittery before this kind of stuff. But I’m used to it so I can push through.”
“Right.” He’s trying not to let the panic get to him. “But normally you’re not introducing your nobody boyfriend to the world.”
She turns sharply towards him. “You’re not a nobody! You’re the love of my life!”
The words stun him so much it actually distracts him from the anxiety.
It’s nothing she hasn’t said before, but Percy doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to it.
“Besides,” she continues, “it’s better this way. I’d rather tell them on my terms than have someone leak it.”
It’s the same way she’d explained it to him sitting on his couch one morning.
Well actually, she had said, “Do you want to come to the movie premiere with me?” and processed to watch him gape like a fish.
One month later, everything was finally together, Annabeth having prepared and eased Percy’s anxiety about the whole thing.
But now, driving up to the place, it’s all coming back in fill force. His grip on Annabeth’s hand tightens as they approach the back where a lot of people are gathered.
“It’s going to be fine,” she reassures, planting a quick kiss on his cheek just before the door is opened for them.
There are already a few flashes on them the moment they step out and Percy tries not to look like he might pass out.
There are a ridiculous amount of people, paparazzi, celebrities, their PR teams, it’s an incredibly highly charged environment.
The lights are a little blinding and his suit feels too stuffy so he just follows as Annabeth leads him through, still gripping her hand for dear life.
He spots Jason Grace not too far away and honestly, it brings just a tiny amount of normalcy when Jason looks over and sends a casual nod his way, something Percy immediately reciprocates.
He’s forgotten he knows some people here.
Annabeth’s talking to Frank and Rachel (her PR manager) and he lets out another breath at the sight of people he knows. He’s feeling marginally better about the whole thing. As long as he doesn’t look over to the line of people.
Feeling more camera flashes he can imagine the headline now: Annabeth Chase’s New Boyfriend is a Loser!
Well, maybe not exactly that, Annabeth would raise hell, but it’s easier to think about that than the chaos happening around him.
Grover would want to know about the red carpet experience, he thinks, but honestly, all Percy’s aware of right now is the heat, the lights, and Annabeth’s hand in his.
“We’re doing pictures now,” Annabeth says, leaning close to his ear. “Just like we practiced.”
Percy had felt stupid for asking for lessons on how to pose but he’s so grateful he had because it’s like his body goes into autopilot, remembering his living room and Annabeth next to him in sweats talking through the motions.
“Annabeth! Percy!” Will Solace is walking up to the two of them, creating an even bigger crowd of people.
He smiles back, thankful again for the sight of someone he knows. Will, especially, since he’s the male lead of the movie.
The costars need pictures and it’s the first time Annabeth has to let go of his hand. He might actually collapse.
Trying his hardest to fade into the background, he stands by Rachel who gives him an encouraging smile. Rachel, who obviously had to be told about their move to come public, had been unsure at first, but one chat with Annabeth and she was all for it.
“Hello! I’m Drew with CHB! And who are you?”
All of a sudden there’s a lip sticked smile in his vision and a microphone by his mouth. Just behind the woman is a guy with a camera and Percy has lot all ability to speak.
“I…uh…um…”
He had not trained on this…Annabeth was supposed to do all the talking.
“He’s my boyfriend,” Annabeth cuts in, appearing by his side just in time. Her hand slips back into his and he feels himself relax.
“Boyfriend?”
Bur before Drew can keep asking questions, Annabeth is pulling him away and Rachel is stepping up.
“We’re doing a full interview with Zoe later,” she tells him, as if they hadn’t also prepared for that. But it’s a good reminder that they have a plan and everything is still okay.
He manages to nod.
They move beyond the main hub of photographers, and the lights are a little less blinding now. He takes a deep breath.
“You doing okay?” she asks.
He’s trying to not freak out in front of Hollywood and he might be developing anxiety.
But then he looks over to her, looking ethereal in her long golden dress. Her sparkling grey eyes, ignoring everyone else, are trained on him, and just her touch is the calm in a storm.
Yeah...he’s doing great.
The smile he gives her must be good because her face soften immensely as she smiles back. There’s another camera flash but all he can think of is her words from earlier.
“You’re the love of my life.”
It’s going to be alright.
No matter what tomorrow will bring.
TO BE CONTINUED…
A/N: Thanks for the prompt! It’s been a popular request, so I’ve decided to do a whole reveal with it! This is only Part 1! I hope you liked this, and I appreciate you sending this in! :)
Part 2 coming very soon!
