Have some artwork based on classic literature!

For one of my English classes, we had to make some sort of project related to one of C.S. Lewis' works. I decided to draw a scene from The Great Divorce, where Napoleon paces around his manor in The Gray Town in the afterlife, blaming everyone for his failures except for himself. And thank you for your help giving me references, @peppus-posts and tagging you as per request, @chelleinyy !

One of my favorite types of verbs in finnish

-illa -illä type (frequentative or noun-related verbs)

maja (lodging) -> majailla (to stay temporarily)

ruoka (food) -> ruokailla (to eat)

hymy (smile) -> hymyillä (to smile)

This verb creating process is so nice because you can use it to make verbs that totally make sense without actually being a real word! Some examples that I personally use in my daily life;

mato (worm) -> matoilla (to worm around)

pehmo (softie / stuffie) -> pehmoilla (to fluff around)

kala (fish) -> kalailla (to fish around)

norppa (ringed seal) -> norppailla (to ringed-seal around)

peppu (butt) -> peppuilla (to butt around)

This is one feature that's very underestimated in the language!

20.3.2024

V pět ráno proběhla apokalypsa. Děti se probudily a zjistily, že N odešla do práce. Pláč, kašel a smrkání. Lehla jsem si mezi ně a dlouho se mi nedařilo znovu usnout. V devět jsem se probrala z tvrdýho spánku a děti nikde. Seděly dole v obýváku, baštily müsli a hrály psko. Dopoledne jsem je vzala za našima a pomohla jsem tam postavit vyvýšený záhony. Doma jsem pak vyprala dvě pračky a pokusila se uvařit tofu na hoisin omáčce, ale evidentně je víc druhů tofu a to moje se samozřejmě úplně rozpadlo. Sníst se to dá, ale vypadá to fakt hrozně. Děti mě taky moc nešetřily. Na chvíli jsem je vyhnala ven a když jsem zapla druhou pračku, kterou navíc musím hlídat, aby neutekla z koupelny, tak za mnou dečka přišly celý od bláta. Malá Z. si hrála na Peppu a když jí přišel bráška vyčinit, tak po něm začla házet bláto lžící. Ráno vstávám v půl sedmý a pokusím se to zas nějak přežít.

I actually have a few painted turtles in my pond that I'm pretty sure reproduced you know people deciding to get one and then seeing it's too much of a hassle just throwing them in a ditch I actually think I have a world breaking record for biggest painted turtle her name is Auntie Peppu

Dude that's so cool! I bet Auntie Peppu looks amazing <33 But I also feel bad when people purposely leave their pets in a ditch when they can't afford to care for them :( I can understand why they've made the decision, but it's still such a sad thing regardless.

The usual size for painted turtles is 4.5 to 6 inches Auntie Peppu is definitely bigger than that if I ever do find her again out of the water eating plants I will take a picture she actually really nice she doesn't run away from me she seemed mostly annoyed that I was messing with her while she was trying to eat but I was just so amazed with how big she was

Please do! I'd love to see Auntie Peppu :D I don't see turtles very often where I live, so I'll take any opportunity to see them if I could :) I'm glad she's very nice towards you, she seems like such a sweetheart honestly!

Valentine's Day in Finland

I find it funny that here in Finland we are so awkward about anything romantic, so we call Valentine's Day "ystvänpäivä" which literally translates to "Friend's Day" 😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 but kinda sweet tho, we can choose if we want to celebrate romance or friendship :)
