The Gift - A Bruno x Elena Drabble Letter
Dear Elena,
Growing up, my mother, my sisters, and the Encanto at large all told me the same thing: that my gift was given to me by the miracle from our dad to make our community a stronger and better place to live. I understood that at face value, but nothing I really believed. I get it now, but it took a while for me to realize it, and a longer time to actually see what gift I was actually given. Ironic I can see the future but not put one and two together until the night before our wedding.
I understand that my dad did give me a gift that made our Encanto a better place, but it isn’t what I thought it was.
These gifts my sisters and I got in childhood were gifts for my mother, not for us. We grew up to help her and our community, and that is something I’m sure our father wanted for all of them. Now that we’ve grown, I see the real gifts he bestowed upon me and my siblings. Julieta got Agustin, Pepa got Felix, and now, I have you.
You are my gift from my father to make Encanto a better place.
Thank you for being my gift, and thank you for becoming my wife.
Bruno
A small something I wanted to do for my good friend @prophetic-hijinks on her birthday 🎂💚 I hope you enjoy this quick little letter Bruno would whip up before his wedding to try to prepare for when he goes full sappy on the vows 😘

Encanto Headcanon- Dating Camilo would include... (Camilo Madrigal x GN! Reader)
Hey everyone!! Today I decided to write an Encanto Headcanon about dating Camilo. This is fully based on what I know about the Madrigals and what I imagine dating Camilo would be like. I obviously got some inspiration from other writers, but no one specific.
Anyways, enjoy! -Bar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dating Camilo Madrigal would include... part 1 (before the movie)
~ You guys met at Luisa’s last birthday, and you looked breathtaking.
~ Camilo couldn’t get himself to go talking to you, so he just adored you from afar as long as he wasn’t focused on Antonio.
~ You saw the cute curly boy around your age playing with Antonio and couldn’t help your smile. It was just too cute!
~ You blushed, hard, when he looked up and met your gaze; you looked away already, so you couldn’t see, but his cheeks turned red, too.
~ “Hey, Mirabel, who’s this?” You asked her and pointed to Camilo.
~ She had a mischievous smile as she told you it’s her cousin, Camilo. What was she palnning?
~ Later that night, Camilo heard from Mirabel you asked about him.
~ “Y\N? Is this the person who was dancing here earlier with Y\F\M (your fav Madrigal except for Camilo)?” -”Yep. They’re right there, go talk to them”
~ You were very surprised when Camilo was tripping to where you set. His face were red and his hair and clothes were messy from the dancing, but you still found him very attractive.
~ Camilo was still stunned by you, but he managed to say a few complete sentences. You were so nice and easy to talk to, his shyness faded away, and you two had a long, enthralling conversation.
~ And of course, once his flirty self came back, he used the countless amount of pickup lines he knew on you.
~ “You know who you’re reminding me of? My next S\O”
~ “Do you believe in love at first tight or I should walk by again?”
~ “I don’t like your last name. You should change it to Madrigal”
~ (and so on...)
~ As you two kept talking and laughing, Camilo couldn’t help falling for you harder and harder.
~ By the end of the night, he knew for sure he’s in love. But he didn’t know if you felt the same, and it made him nervous and anxious.
~ He went to talk to Dolores about it, and ended up getting advices from her and all of his cousins, who had a sleepover.
~ Eventually, they helped him planning how to ask you out, not knowing you just waited for him to do it.
~ Long story short, he asked you out, you said yes, and now he was supposed to take you on your first date.
~ He found the perfect glade and asked Isabela to find out what’s your favorite flower (Isabela: *rolling her eyes* I already know what’s their favorite flower) and grow it all over te place, but leave a space big enough to do picnics or just hang out for a while.
~ Isabela agreed, and the next day everything was ready.
~ Mirabel decorated Camilo’s ruana and your favorite y\f\c\p (your favorite clothing piece- skirt, pants, shirt, etc), Isabela made them a crown of Y\F\F (your favorite flower), Luisa brought a basket full of Julieta’s best foods and desserts and Dolores prepared you to the meeting with the Madrigals- especially Abuela and Pepa.
~ Pepa was excited, of course, when Camilo said you two are going on a date, and Felix made sure she doesn’t rain all over you; but it was hard, considering how excited he also was to see his son going on a date.
~ Everyone were so happy to see Camilo’s smile when he looked at you, and they were excited to know the person Camilo fell in love with.
~ After everyone (and their gifts) were introduced, Camilo took you away. He loved his family, but he knew they would stay there forever if he won’t take you on your date.
~ You started walking in the forest until you found the glare- well, Camilo was walking, you had a blindfold while Luisa carried you after him so it’ll be a surprise. (You weren’t too happy about it, but you were really curious about where he takes you now).
~ When Camilo took off your blindfold, you gasped at the breathtaking sight- thousands of y\f\fs in all of the colors possible were growing at the glare in circles, leaving a little space of emerald-green grass. It was beautiful, amazing, nothing like anything you imagined or seen- and you chose to show your gratefulness by kissing Camilo on the cheek. You were both blushing when you whispered “thanks, Cami”, but you got yourselves out of it quickly and started settle on the grass.
~ Apearantly Julieta packed them everything they needed: food, water, a picnic blanket and pillows- “for the time sitting down starts to hurt”, as the notes sticked to the pillows said.
~ They were having a great time, and just before the dark they packed their things in the basket again and started walking back, still laughing and talking.
~ Camilo walked y\n to their house, kissing them on the cheek for goodbye and made sure they went in and their parents were there to take them to bed, and onlt then went back to Casita. When he told his parents about it, they hugged him and told him how proud they are of him and the gentleman he grew up to be.
~ After the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th date, Camilo finally asked Y\N to be his s\o. You, of course, said yes, and his family couldn’t be happier... literally: Pepa made rainbows everywhere; Isabela was going around town spreading flowers of any kind, color and shape; Julieta didn’t stop making desserts to heal the town; Luisa was so excited she always used too much power to lift everything (and caused several accidents that way); Dolores squeaked whenever she heard one of you talking about the other; Antonio always let you play with his animals; Mirabel made you a new y\f\c\p; Agustin and Felix told you it’s okay to be an outsider who has no gift and they can join the club once they marry Camilo (which made you turn red like a tomato); and Abuela just smiled as she watched you- she saw the same love she and Pedro had, this teenager made her first male grandson happy and that gave her peace- even though she thought they weren’t good enough for Camilo.
~ But as Camilo started dated Y\N, Isabela decided to have her revenge at him for all the years of teasing her.
~ Every time Y\N came to Casita, Isabela would stand at the door, sing “CAMILO, YOUR S\O’S HERE” as loud as she can and create a flower statue of you, laughing.
~ You didn’t understand why is makes Isabela laugh and Camilo get so mad he turned into her and moked her, but after Isabela explained you what happened you found that funny too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been FOREVER since I posted here. My next thing will probably be part 4 of CLUELESS cuz I’m very nice
Anyways ily and hope you’ll enjoy!

School let's out in a week and everyone is excited, especially the oldest girls because they have summer camp.
Modern au
The week before...
Julieta was aware of the end of the school year for her girls. Isabela and Dolores were finishing their 5th grade year at the elementary school. Luisa was coming out of 3rd grade strong heading for 4th grade with her teacher recommending the gifted program; and sweet little Mirabel and Camilo had been with Julieta at home, preparing for kindergarten. Agustin had taught them how to count to 10 and Felix had started teaching them how to read. By the first day of school they'd know the alphabet well.
It was Monday afternoon, nine more days until she had five rambunctious children running around the house for a week before Isa and Lola headed to camp for 8 weeks. Luisa may join them but Julieta would ask what Luisa wanted before she bought supplies.
"Mami, can you sign this?" Isabela asked sitting at the breakfast bar, where she usually ate a snack and did her homework with Dolores every afternoon.
Pepa had been in the kitchen with Julieta and got a similar question from her own hija.
Julieta read the paper
" Dear parent or guardian,
As a part of the curriculum for all 5th grade students, teachers are going to be teaching age appropriate sex education during the last week of the school. We will teach these lessons to your child unless this form is returned opting your child out of these lessons.
We encourage parents to allow your child to take these lessons to ensure they understand the changes that will occur with the onset of puberty.
Please fill out the form below and have your child return to their teacher by Friday May 21"
Julieta looked at Pepa, who was looking at her.
"Let me find a pen," Julieta muttered as she went across the kitchen and grabbed Pepa yanking her into the entrance hall to talk in a hushed whisper.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking," Julieta whispered
"Yep, I mean do you remember our sex ed, we were told we were gonna bleed, and that we needed to wash our hair and use deodorant, and to never have sex," Pepa whispered
"Exactly, I don't want that for the girls, I want them to be properly educated on the matter, in a healthy way that explains all the details in an appropriate manner for their age," Julieta said to Pepa
"I have an idea. We'll let them go and ask what they learned so we can fill in the gaps and debunk myths." Pepa said
"Good idea," Julieta agreed signing the line that said she would allow Isa to attend the class.
Pepa signed Dolores's paper in the same spot and returned them to the children to turn in.
As the girls completed their homework Isabela piped up
"Are our bags ready for field day tomorrow?"
"No I wanted to have you girls here when I put them together," Julieta told.
"Ok," Isabela and Dolores said
"Go get your bags and head to the den. I'll get the rest of everything." Julieta told the girls, "oh and get Luisa down too her bag needs to be packed up,"
Julieta went through each checklist to make sure all three girls had what they needed.
Once she was sure, she looked at the calendar and checked what other events were going on that week. Nothing stood out save for the last day of school where all the 5th graders watched a video of their baby pictures and had a picnic out on the playground. Parents were invited and Julieta and Pepa agreed to go while Gus and Felix kept an eye on Mirabel and Camilo.
"Oh girls, we're going shopping after school tomorrow so you can get some new stuff for camp." Pepa informed watching as the girls excitedly jumped around.
"Go help Tia Pepa pack some orders while I make dinner," Julieta said referring to Pepa's small business selling handmade jewelry and other crafts.
The girls woke up the next day and immediately put on their swimsuits and over clothes to get ready for field day. Isabela chose to wear her navy blue one piece and Dolores wore her matching yellow one. They would likely play with water balloons or in the sprinklers. Their bags were filled with sunscreen, a towel, a extra change of clothes, a water bottle, their caps, sunglasses, extra shoes, and plenty of snacks.
Isabela and Dolores both went for their mesh running shoes great for traction on slippery surfaces and drying quickly if wet.
Once they were dressed the two eldest went to the kitchen to get breakfast and do each other's hair.
Julieta set out granola bars for them while she made everyone else eggs and sausages. She knew they were excited and would probably refuse a large breakfast. Reason for the snacks.
Dolores braided isabelas hair back and tied it into a ponytail. Sleek but durable throughout the day. Isa finished her granola bar and Dolores sat down to eat hers while Isabela did her hair. Isa styled her cousin's hair similar to hers but instead of braiding it into a ponytail she sectioned it off and braided three braids from the front of her hair back and then tied the braids into a ponytail with the other half of her hair that was left loose. It had a viking feel to it, which was something Dolores loved since she was really interested in vikings at the moment.
Luisa came down with her hair already done in two French braids on either side of her hair, Pepa not far behind with the little ones.
"I brought these two down to sleep on the couch and watch cartoons, they caught the stomach bug, both of them are sick." Pepa said
"poor bebés, I'll get some Popsicles from the garage freezer for them, if only my gift could heal viruses." Julieta said. Her gift was wonderful but a major oversight was making it only able to heal physical injury and life threatening diseases. The common cold or stomach bug couldn't be healed but someone who had a broken bone or cancer would be healed. Major oversight to her gift but reasonable in hindsight. The common cold at worst was a mild inconvenience where a broken bone at worse could be a potential fatality depending on how much damage is done to the nearby muscle or blood vessels.
The kids were sent to school and Julieta took care of the two littlest ones through the day.
By two that afternoon Pepa had emerged from her workshop.
"How are they?" Pepa asked seeing the two youngest on the sofa watching a movie.
"they're better, I gave them Popsicles to help soothe their throat and to try to help rehydrate them. I need to go get the kids and take the big girls to get their stuff for camp, they have new requirements now that they've moved up to the 10-12 year old cabins Luisa decided she wanted to go even after I explained she'd be in the 8-10 cabins without the girls." Julieta told
The cabins were based on birthdays so kids who would turn 10 during or after camp were in the 8-10 cabin. Kids who turn 10 before camp are sorted by month age. Kids who are younger than 10 years 6 months are in the 8-10 cabins. Kids older than that are in the 10-12 cabins.
"Go ahead Juli I got these two," Pepa said.
Julieta grabbed the lists for camp and went to pick up the kids.
She went through the car rider line for the girls and after they were picked up Julieta noticed that all three had done as she had asked and changed before dismissal. She smiled to herself then looked at them in the rearview.
"guess what we're doing?" Julieta asked
"camp supplies?" Isa said her memory immaculate.
"right on Isa, here's yours and Lola's list. Luisa here's yours." Julieta said letting the girls look over the list.
The only new additions to this list for Isabella and Dolores were long pants, a helmet, and pads/tampons.
Since Isa and Lola moved up, they get to do more activities, such as horseback riding, kayaking, and free lake time with their cabin group. They require the girls to bring a long pair of pants and a helmet for horseback riding. And since most of the girls in the 10-12 cabins are likely to get their first period at camp, the camp requires all girls to have either pads or tampons from age 10.
Luisa's list was very similar but instead of items like a helmet the camp requires younger campers especially first time campers to have some comforters since parents were not allowed to pick children up from camp until the last day unless it was an emergency. Isa and Dolores had settled well and didn't need the comforters Julieta had packed their first year going. She still packed their special teddy bears though, just in case. Something Julieta and Pepa had done with Isa and Lola before their first time at camp was they went and made bears at build a bear workshop. These bears had a sound box that had julieta and Pepa recorded saying 'I love you'
When they got to the strip mall Julieta explained to the girls. "We're buying camp stuff, nothing else ok. You girls are getting some new clothes. What we don't buy you pack from home, I'll pull your trunks out later tonight so you can start packing them." Julieta said looking at the older girls. "Luisa we'll buy you a trunk today for camp, I brought the cables to tie it down with,"
Luisa smiled and nodded, excited she could finally join her older sister and cousin at camp.
"you're gonna love camp Lu, it's so much fun getting to make new friends and do all the activities. When me and Lola went we met so many new people and they were all so nice, hopefully you get cabin 3. Miss amy was mine and Dolores 's counselor at camp, she will love you so much Lu. Not even lying she helped me and Lola so much our first year at camp." Isabela said
After their small talk, Julieta led the girls into the store.
Starting at the camping supplies and sports gear. Julieta let Isabela and Dolores choose their own helmets for horseback riding, and helped Luisa get some necessities.
"Do you know any activities you want to do?" Julieta asked.
"I want to do softball," Luisa said proudly. She had been a pitcher on her travel team for a year now and she wanted to continue with it.
"Ok, I'll put in the order for your camp uniform tonight. You need a mitt and glove, and you need new running shoes." Julieta said.
"can't I bring my cleats?" Luisa asked
"Only the older players wear cleats honey. If you stick with it you can bring your cleats a few years from now." Julieta explained.
After Isabela and Dolores got their helmets and gloves for horseback riding Julieta got all the girls a new sleeping bag since Isa and Lola had grown out of theirs and Luisa didn't have one.
Isabela chose a Bratz sleeping bag, Dolores decided on a Lisa Frank one, and Luisa proudly chose a Tinkerbell one.
After they had made their way through getting the girls all they needed for camp, Julieta tasked Isabela and Dolores with loading the car while she took Luisa next door for a durable trunk.
When they entered the shops Julieta led Luisa toward the large plastic trunks because they're the most durable and resistent. Plus they come in cool colors.
Luisa picked herself out a purple trunk and rolled it to the checkout with Julieta keeping an eye on her to make sure she wasn't struggling.
After paying for the trunk, Julieta hoisted herself up and strapped it to the top of the car for the 15 minute drive home.
When they arrived home Julieta immediately took the eldest girls' trunks out of the attic to let them pack. While she did that said eldest were taking all of their stuff inside and into the living room to sort out.
After the trunks were put in each room, Julieta came down to help the girls sort their items out.
The biggest things were clothes and toiletries and other necessary items like bug spray and sun screen.
Julieta sat and told the girls, "I bought all of you a new swimsuit, and you all got some new shorts and tank tops. Isa and Lola, you two pack four sets of pajamas. Lu I want you to pack five. I know sometimes you get a little extra picky. Everyone packs water shoes sandals and sneakers. You two will be fitted with boots for riding when you get there. Lu you need to get your softball helmet from the garage. I trust you three to make sure to pack everything you need and double check your list." Julieta said as she sorted the clothes to who they belonged to. Each of the girls got four new outfits for camp and a new bright swimsuit. Julieta only allowed her girls to wear neon swimsuits because they are easiest to see in the water. This year Isabela got a neon pink, Dolores got a neon green one, and Luisa got neon orange.
After everything has been sorted out Julieta instructed the girls to take them to their rooms and get ready for bed. Pepa had taken the littlest kids to bed an hour prior. Felix had just gotten home and Agustin was just pulling into the driveway. Julieta went upstairs and kissed her girls goodnight, all three of them tucked into bed with a content smile.
Their smiles let her smile as she climbed into bed with Agustin who was very cuddly and protective tonight.
All was well and now there was only 7 more days until the girls got out of school.
Super long but hope you enjoy ❤️

Encantober 2023 Day 9: Time
To say Julieta was a busy person was an understatement. Between healing an entire village and raising three girls, she has her hands full. It felt like she did not have time to do anything she wanted to do. While all the Madrigals felt that way, Julieta has been the one for forty-five years of her life to be the village’s doctor that she felt that was all she was meant to do. On some days, she would exhaust herself to burnout.
Julieta and Pepa talked to each other about how she was feeling about how the village was so reliant on her. She mentioned how she wished she could just take a day off of healing the village and just spend the entire day with her husband and daughters. She wished she had the time to have a fun day with them.
“It’s okay, hermana; I feel the same way too. I just wish I didn’t have to force myself to let all my negative emotions out during one time of the day, and just have a day to spend time with the children too,” Pepa admitted.
The sisters hugged each other on the couch and cried. Their husbands, who were in the living room together, noticed them from across the room. They looked at each other, since they heard enough of the conversation that they wanted to do something about it.
“What do you think we should plan for them and the kids?” Agustin asked.
“Maybe we could do two separate things tomorrow? So each of us can have time with our wives and kids?” Felix suggested.
“That sounds like a good idea, but what should we do?”
“Maybe we could just go into town together tomorrow and split up once we get to town square? That should be simple enough.”
Agustin agreed and he and Felix made their way to the courtyard. They explained to their wives that they overheard their conversation and wanted to do something special with them and the children just to give them some time off from helping the village.
“You really want to do that?” Julieta asked.
“Si, we don’t like seeing you so overworked,” Agustin replied.
“So we thought we could go into the town together with the kids tomorrow and split up once we got to the town square so we could do our own thing with our own kids,” Felix explained.
The sisters smiled and hugged their husbands as tightly as they could. That was probably the best idea they had since marrying them! Not only would they get to spend time with their husbands and children, but they could do so separately since they were always together every hour of every day. They could bond with their children a lot more; a privilege they wished they had more often.
“We’ll let the kids know once they get home from school and the village,” Pepa said.
“Do you think we could go to the park at lunchtime and have a picnic together before going our separate ways in the afternoon?” Julieta asked.
“I would love that!” Agustin replied.
The couples hugged once more and kissed each other on the lips before Julieta made her way to the kitchen to prepare dinner and Pepa went upstairs to take a nap before dinner was ready. Felix went upstairs to snuggle with his wife and Agustin decided to go into the kitchen to check up on Julieta.
-----------------------------------------
The next day was a sunny Saturday morning, and the Madrigal family woke up bright and early to have breakfast together before their day in the town together. The children were just as excited as their parents were to have a whole day with just their family. It seemed like the only time they got to spend any time with their parents was at dinnertime or bedtime since they were all so busy.
Once everyone got ready and did their  jobs for the morning, the family met up at the park at lunchtime like they promised they would to each other. Pepa and Felix brought the blanket for them to sit on, and Julieta and Agustin brought the basket with the food. Everyone helped set up the blanket and the food and sat down together to serve themselves.
“So, what made you decide to do this?” Isabela asked as she grabbed an empanada for her plate.
“We just thought that… we never really have time to spend together as a family so we decided to spend some time with our children today,” Julieta explained.
“I’m still happy we got to do this. I felt the same way for a long time,” Mirabel mentioned.
“So did I,” Camilo chimed in as he stuffed his face.
“I was thinking that we could head over to the ice cream shop first, and Pepa, you could stay here and have fun with the kids, and we could switch,” Julieta suggested.
“That sounds like a great idea!” Pepa replied.
Once everyone was finished with lunch, Julieta’s branch of the family cleaned their part of the picnic and made their way to the ice cream shop. Pepa’s branch of the family stayed behind and cleaned the rest of the picnic. Once Julieta, Agustin, Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel left, Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio made their way to the playground equipment and Pepa and Felix followed behind them.
Antonio began to climb on the equipment and Camilo followed. Dolores, Pepa, and Felix kept herself near the ladder so they could help Antonio climb up and Camilo could be there supervising him.
“Mami! Watch me go down the slide!” Antonio exclaimed as he made his way down the slide and Pepa caught him once he got to the bottom.
Antonio laughed in his mother’s arms as she carried him over her shoulders and laughed with him. She spun her youngest child around until they got dizzy and fell on the ground laughing some more. Camilo joined them and tackled his mother and brother to the ground and laughed with them. Dolores and Felix helped them up when they were finished and they hugged each other before Camilo broke the laughter.
“I hope we get to do this again sometime,” he pointed out.
“I hope so too. I just hope we could have the time because of how busy we are,” Pepa replied.
“We’ll make time, don’t worry. I know it took some convincing for us to do this, but if Alma agreed for us to do this, she’ll agree again some other time,” Felix explained.
--------------------------------------
At the village’s ice cream shop, Juileta and Agustin sat down with their daughters at a table outside with their ice cream as they started eating.
“So, how has your week been, Mirabel? How is school going?” Julieta asked.
“School has been going alright; I mean, Geometry has been pretty difficult recently, but I’m trying to find tutoring sessions once a week after school,” Mirabel explained.
“One of us could help you if you want,” Luisa mentioned.
“Gracias, Luisa, but I’m not too sure if you remember much from when you were my age. I would just rather go to my teacher for extra help.”
“I get it, Mira.”
“Hey, Isabela, since you decided not to marry Mariano and let Dolores date him, how has life been after the breakup?” Agustin asked.
“Life has been so much better. I’ve been taking more time to grow my plants and I have been much calmer since,” Isabela explained.
“That’s great. I’m happy to see my daughters improving in their lives,” Julieta pointed out.
The cool-colored branch of the family continued talking and eating their ice cream before throwing their garbage out and making their way back to the park to meet up with the warm-colored branch. They walked back to the park to see Pepa, Felix, Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio by the playground equipment, playing with each other.
“Hola, Pepa! We’re ready to switch if you’re ready to,” Julieta said.
“Gracias, Julieta. How has your time at the ice cream shop been?” Pepa asked.
“It was wonderful; we caught up on so much with each other and it felt so relaxing.”
“I’m so happy you had fun. We had fun too. We spent the whole time on the playground equipment and we were laughing the entire time.”
Before they could switch their locations, their children hugged their parents as tightly as they could. Julieta, Pepa, Agustin, and Felix hugged their children back and stayed in the hug for as long as they could. They did not want the hug to end.
“I wish we had more of this time together,” Isabela mentioned. The rest of the children agreed.
“We’ll have this time together again soon,” Julieta said.

Note
I know that I probably shouldn't being this up because it happened like 5 months ago,but the person who you had the encanto discourse with @toaverse is known for villainizing the Madrigals (INCLUDING FELIX AND AGUSTIN) and turning Mira and Bruno into "lil babies who were abused by this evil family 😭"
They've also been known to shit on Isa,Pepa and Alma in particular.Also they have an au called the kidnapped Isabela and Dolores au which is basically torture porn.
Urm, okay??? Dont really know how that concerns me tbh. Not to be rude, but if you have to say 'I probably shouldn't be saying this...' maybe don't say it😭
I disagreed with a post they made about the family (excluding mira and bruno) being heartless, because the characters are clearly not 2 dimensional and I just had to express that when I saw their take, I never intended for it to go further than a counter argument but whatever, sometimes life is like that. And honestly having a back and forth disagreement like that online was (and still is) embarrassing to me and I'm not happy abt it.
Like,, I have no animosity for anyone, I dont mean any harm. And even though me and them had a disagreement, I dont think it’s really my place to make judgements on them. I don't know them, or their reasonings for what they choose to do, and given that they also dislike proshippers, if my recollection is correct, Id like to think that that au wasnt wrote with bad intentions; I don't really know the au you're referring to, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in not knowing that those subjects in said au, trigger me IMMENSELY, so please don't come into my inbox nonchalantly mentioning it, but even then, I don't see the point in me knowing that other than to gossip.
The small altercation I had with them was ages ago, sooo I don't see how talking about it now is in anyway productive, if I were to still talk about it and hold onto that, it'd be petty and rude, ya kno?
Cmon guys let's just be mature adults pls, I'm preparing for uni so I'm pretty busy right now, but all I really want to do on my tumblr is post art and things that make me happy😭

Side Story: Two death, Too Many
Tumblr media
TW// Blood
Chaos. Everything is in utter chaos.
Panic chatter and mumbles were all around her. ‘Abuela’ Alma Madrigal frantically gives orders to the town volunteers. Organizing everyone to the best of her abilities. The wounded to one side, telling the guards to patrol the entirety of Encanto, selecting people to spread warning to stay in their respective homes and keep their families safe, and to gather people to find her missing son and granddaughter.
Both Mew and Chandelure help her communicate with the community Pokemon’s to help any human that needed their help. And to keep an eye out for her missing family members.
Today was just horrible.
It felt like she was back to that damnable river, watching Pedro's death all over again. So weak and helpless. She so badly wanted to go back to her family, to see for herself that they are alright. To make sure that no one else was taken. To reassure her rapidly beating heart that they are fine. And that they are alive.
But she can’t. Not while there was still a possibility that Giratina would return. And if it was planning to strike them again. She can’t let her worry for their wellbeing get in the way of keeping them all safe.
She needs to make sure that the Encanto is safe. That nobody else would be targeted and kidnapped. Like Mirabel almost did...
Her poor granddaughter. Why would such a monster target her granddaughter like that!? She was a child, barely able to count from one to ten. Even tripping on her own two feet with how clumsy she is. What would it gain by taking her away!? She was as harmless as a Cleffa!
Her head was starting to hurt from the forming migraine. She felt so overwhelmed. There are so many things to do with so little time. Tending the wounded, fortifying defenses, forming search parties, and calming down the populace of Encanto. And with her family compromise, everything was moving too slow for her liking. They aren’t moving as fast as they used to be, in times of crisis usually they work faster than this, was it because her family is not helping? She needs to bring this up to the council's meeting later, if her family is the sole reason for the effectiveness then they need to think of something to counterbalance it. They can’t just be lazy just because Lord Arceus blessed her family. What if they’re unavailable? Then what happened?
A rumbling of thunder snaps her out of her thoughts. Followed by a crash of lighting and hail. Pepa!
Faster than she realizes she could, Alma urgently jogs as hard as she could towards her daughter, quickly getting out of breath as her age starts to get to her. But she wouldn’t falter in her step, not when she was so helpless with protecting her son and granddaughter.
Once she nearly reaches the patio - a place she had chosen specifically because it was near the kitchen, where Julieta had prepared her foods in case of an emergency - the cold freezing air hits her and she can already feel the chill rattling her bones. And through the haze of wind and thunder she could hear her daughter chanting “Clear skies! Clear skies!” from the distance.
Something was upsetting her, but what? Did something bad happen? Is the monster back!? Dread began to take a hold on her once again. No... She can’t lose them, not again!
Through the haze she could see most of her family together under one of the makeshift tents. Felix by Pepa's side trying to comfort her, far away from the family so as not to drench them. The children's bundle up together, trying to comfort each other. With Dolores in particular trying to calm Camilo down while simultaneously trying to comfort a crying Luisa who was holding onto Mirabel's unconscious body. Both Agustin and Julieta were there as well, albeit unconscious. They were both lying down on a cot and with gauze covering where they had been injured. Her stomach churn from seeing the blood that had started to seep through the material. They had to change it, just looking at it made her nauseous.
“Pepa! Pepa! What’s wrong Mija!?” Alma asked, looking at her daughter with worry. She was out of breath when she reached them. They were at the edge of the forest in the back. Their backs turn towards her. But even when they didn’t face her she could tell something was wrong. After all, it had began to rain.
Pepa didn’t answer her, instead she looked at her with a gaze that startled her. It was full of sorrow and despair. The look of someone that had just lost everything. The same gaze that she constantly saw in herself whenever she looked at her own reflection. And she wanted to ask her why she was giving her that look until she noticed something in her hands.
A bloodied torn green ruana.
She felt her breath hitching. Suddenly feeling cold. Like she was plunged into the same river that had now been her husband's grave. Her eyes then move from the torn clothes and beyond her daughter and son-in-law towards the forest. And there, under the cover of darkness she saw a black tar-like substance coating the grass and trees around it. The vegetation it touches is seemingly dying from being in contact with it. It was clear that this had been the place where it had escaped.
With Bruno and Isabela.
They’re too late…
“Mama…” Pepa sobs, her voice crack and she choked as another hiccup interrupts her. Her shoulder was shaking and quaking, tears freely slid down her cheek as she wept louder. And not even Felix was able to comfort her. Seeing her now like this, made her look like the little girl who she had raised all those years ago.
Lightning cracks above them.
The rain poured harder, the wind picking up traction. At this rate, Pepa would make a hurricane. But it didn’t matter. Not when her son and granddaughter are gone. So she did the only thing she could think of at the moment, and pulled her daughter in for a hug. She let Pepa cry on her shoulder, to let her emotion free and let the grief flow. Letting her hands grip her dress tightly. Her fingers clawing at it and her skin in turn. But she ignores the pain in favor of just letting her cry it out. It didn’t matter the storm that rages above them. For once she didn’t even care about it or how it’ll affect the Encanto. Not when her son and granddaughter are gone.
And as the freezing water drench her, she felt her tears being swept away by the water sliding down her face. She holds her daughter tighter, as to bring comfort to herself that her daughter is still here, that if she were to let go she would disappear also. She couldn’t afford to lose anyone else. She wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Because they had already lost two important people in their lives.
That they had lost another family again.

Do you mind sharing your interpretation of the rest of the family discovering of the webslingers identity or how it plays out if you mind???
Btw lovee theseee their so interesting and fun❤️
I don’t mind at all, I love these too 😁
So sorry this answer took so long. I’m glad you enjoy them, I enjoy these as well.
Here is the scenario I imagined. Btw, prepare for angst;
Camilo is eighteen when a bad guy from his past had returned, and they wanted to hit The Webslinger where it really hurt.
When Camilo was walking home from a theater audition, his Dad called in a panic. Pepa had been kidnapped from her job at the weather station.
Immediately, the Webslinger rushed into action. Racing after the villain to a secluded warehouse at the edge of town.
It all happened so fast; One moment, Camilo was facing off the villain…. The next thing he knew, the building was collapsing and his mother was still inside.
Camilo raced as fast as he could to save his mother, but he was just a second too late.
After pulling her out of the ruins, Camilo rushed her to the nearest hospital. Pepa had broken bones, a concussion, collapsed lung, etc. By the time the rest of the Madrigals showed up, Pepa had been patched up but was in a deep coma.
With no guarantee of when (or if) she would ever wake up.
Days had passed, the Madrigals were all in shock, they just couldn’t understand how or why this happened.
Meanwhile, Camilo barely left his room, thinking over how if his mother dies, it would be all his fault.
One night, it all hit the fan.
Felix had gone into his son's room to comfort him, only to find Camilo packing all his belongings into a bag. Camilo didn’t stop, not even when his Dad was trying to get answers to where Camilo planned on going.
All Camilo said, without looking his Dad in the eyes, was that he was leaving, for good.
When Camilo tries to storm out, Felix followed him, trying to get him to come back, to sit down, to just talk about it. But Camilo just shakes his head and raced away.
Obviously, this caught the rest of the Madrigals attention, and they followed the quarreling father and son out of the front yard.
Finally, Camilo hits his breaking point. He screams; “None of this would’ve happened if I had never been bitten by that stupid spider! She’d be home right now if I wasn’t so stupid! If I wasn’t the Webslinger!”
Of course, the Madrigals are shocked. At first, they thought it was the grief talking. But one looks in Camilos face, and they knew he was telling the truth
How have they not noticed that one of their own was the infamous spider vigilante?
Finally, Camilo breaks down. He falls to his knees, crying with grief and anger.
There’s silence, until, Abuela steps up to the fallen boy. Camilo thinks she’s mad they hid this from her.
But she says; they’ll figure out a way forward, as a family.

If we really think about it, We Don't Talk About Bruno is kinda fucked up. Felix and Pepa start the song by talking about how he told them it was gonna rain on their wedding day. Bruno was telling them what he saw and wanted them to be prepared for inclement weather because he cares. It was Pepa who overthought the situation (which is valid) and caused it to rain just like Bruno said. The townspeople's readings were also similar. He told one person that her fish would die and it did. He told one guy that he would become fat and he did, and he told a third person that he would lose his hair and again, it happened. These are all natural things though. Domestic fish don't live that long and will eventually die, people get fatter or skinnier with age, and older men tend to lose their hair. All the things he told the townspeople came true because they would have happened whether he told them or not. Bruno was never a villain, but a victim. In this essay I will-

Family Planning || Felipa
tirameunpaso-felix:
Félix met Pepa’s expression with a grin - that was true, he didn’t really need an excuse to get fitted for a new suit, but it was nice to have an occasion!
And it would be nice to have something for their family to celebrate. Times had been hard the past few years, and they were settled now. It was about time that they had an excuse for a party, a proper one. One with lots of food and singing and dancing long into the night!
(Unless they had a more English wedding, which… well, he was sure English weddings where fun in their own way, but he though Isabela deserved a real celebration.)
He did remember that suit - it had been a very good suit. But that was nearly ten years ago now, and Félix had a feeling that it might need a little altering if he wanted to where it again. “Mm, I liked that colour. I still say it was more coral than salmon but,” He shrugged his shoulders. “No arguing with the father of the bride, I suppose. We could go soon, though. Get ahead of the curve. Or is that wishful thinking? I don’t want to jinx them.”
Tumblr media
-
I don’t think there’s any harm in just having a nice suit around.” Pepa shrugged. “And if Isabela’s wedding just so happens to be the first event you wear it… well, how lucky, then!”
It was wishful thinking, Pepa knew. Even if Isabela got married to this man, there’d still be months and months of preparation. They shouldn’t get a new suit made just on some whim. But then again, this town had so many fancy formal events. Besides, she was the mayor’s assistant now! That meant she was invited to all sorts of political events that she probably would not have attended otherwise, which also meant Félix was as well.
Of course, this wasn’t really about suits and parties. It was about —
“I am just so glad we have something to celebrate, finally,” sighed Pepa. “Not to get ahead of myself… but it is good, no? We are finally fitting in here.”

Tata’s Secret Santa Drabble
I got @cheetour for the SPLAT Secret Santa gift exchange, so here is a little fluffy drabble combining her hyperfixations of Encanto and Pokemon!
Tumblr media
It was the dawning of a new day as little Mirabel and Camilo Madrigal raced down the stairs to start their first official day as Pokemon trainers. Just a few days past her tenth birthday, Mirabel was excited to get her first Pokemon while Camilo had been waiting several months so they would get their first Pokemon together. It was, as Camilo would lament about for months, freakin’ ridiculous.
Waiting for them on the kitchen table surrounded by flowers and confetti were two pokeballs for the children – each with a card with their name on it containing their first Pokemon picked out specially by their parents and with the aid of their siblings who helped catch them.
It was a fact Isabela rubbed in Camilo’s face the past couple days knowing just how excited he was to find out what Pokemon his family had chosen for him. Very much a long weekend of “I know something you don’t know” and Dolores playing dumb whenever Camilo would go begging for her to tell him what he got.
Mirabel on the other hand was about as ditzy and aloof during her waiting period as her Tio Felix’s Dragonite.
“Good morning, ninos.” Julieta was busy preparing for the clinic that morning, letting her companion Butterfree sprinkle sleeping powder into an ingredient pouch. “Are you both excited for your big day?”
“Morning, Mama. Is this one mine?” Mirabel ignored the question and picked up the pokeball for Camilo who snatched it from her hand and tossed her the one with her name on it. Without missing a beat she smiled wide – teeth missing. “Oh, I hope it’s a Butterfree like yours Mama.”
“You know, when I got Butterfree, she was just a little Caterpie.” Julieta pet her hair and slipped the pouch into her apron. “Just like your father’s Beedrill used to be a-”
“-Weedle!” Camilo interjected.
“Well, well,” Julieta beamed and ruffled his curls too, “someone’s been studying.”
“I sure have. I’m going to be the resident Encanto Pokemon Master!”
“I just think they’re neat,” Mirabel said, looking at her pokeball.
“Your Tio’s waiting for you outside.” Julieta finished packing her basket as her Butterfree got ready to head out the door with her. “He’s going to teach you everything you need to know about Pokemon.”
Isabela passed by into the kitchen with her Ivysaur to which Mirabel shouted, “Hey Isa! I got a pokemon now!”
“She knows.” Camilo glared at his cousin.
Isabela on the other hand ignored him and returned her sister’s remark with a kind smile. “You sure do! Why don’t you open it up and see what it is?”
To the shock of her older sister, Mirabel slammed the pokeball down with zero remorse for the creature inside, and out sprang a...
---
“How come I got an Eevee, Tio?”
Outside Casita, Bruno was stretching, as if he himself were about to go into battle. His niece and nephew stood a few feet away, both their new Pokemon sitting on the grass looking about as absent-minded as Pepa’s Raichu.
It was safe to assume the couple’s Dragonite and Raichu were a match made in Heaven.
“Because Mirabel, your gift has the potential to be so many things,” Bruno said. “A perfect blank slate destined for so many options without being confined to just one gift.”
Camilo raised his hand. “Why did I get a Ditto, Tio?”
“You change shape sometimes.”
“Cool!” both children shouted.
“Alright.” Bruno stood up and clapped his hands together. “You guys ready to learn how to battle?”
Mirabel raised her hand.
“Yes, Mira?”
“What if we don’t want to fight?”
“Well, you have to.”
“Why?”
“You just have to. If someone sees you walking around minding your own business, they’ll block your path and say some random shit like “The important thing is not how long you live, it’s how you live it” or “I like wearing shorts!” and then that’s it – you have to fight.
“Even if we’re kids?”
“Especially if you’re kids. Most of these troglodytes have like 3 Level 8 Pidgeys and they see some marks like you two and think “Yeah, this is an easy way to earn some money.”
“What’s this about money?” Camilo asked, hand raised again.
“Well if you lose, you have to pay the winner.”
“Tio?” Mirabel raised her other hand and kept both in the air. “Who made these rules?”
“They’ve always been around.”
“But Abuela’s in charge of Encanto. Can’t she change the rules?”
“Abuela benefits the most from these rules. You think Casita makes your fancy clothes and pays for all your food? No, that’s your Abuela and her Kangaskhan standing outside the plaza bars on Friday nights. Some nobody paid for all your ceremony clothes because he was too drunk to remember his Kingler doesn’t know Flamethrower.”
“Oh.” Both children said with as much enthusiasm as a eulogy.
“Yeah, so no more questions.”
Bruno took his two pokeballs from his ruana and let out his Raticate and Magikarp.
“How come you have two Pokemon and everyone else only has one, Tio?” Camilo asked.
“A certain someone who shan't be named thought I predicted her fish would die, but he’s just like this.” He gestured to his Magikarp flopping about in the dirt. “I felt bad for the poor thing so I took him in.”
“Easy defeat,” Camilo boasted and ordered his Ditto to transform. Instead of transforming into the Raticate, he chose the way of the fish, and he too flopped about in the dirt.
Mirabel’s Eevee immediately fainted after the Raticate looked at it. Poor thing had social anxiety.
“See that?” Bruno said to her. “You just lost your first match, Mira, so pay up.” He held out his hand and Mirabel begrudgingly handed over her birthday money.
“Let this be a lesson,” he said, “don’t let this happen to you out in the wild.”
Camilo walked over and picked up his Magikarp-Ditto to put in front of the Raticate. He immediately transformed into a Raticate, went feral, and bit the shit out of Bruno’s. Bruno’s Raticate immediately threw the match because damn, biting hurts.
“Pay up, Tio.” Camilo held his hand out.
Bruno grumbled and handed over Mirabel’s birthday money to him.
“Hell yeah, I’m gonna be a pokemon master!”

⊹₊ ⋆❝ Vision of the future❞
Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone in Encanto could be seen, bussing around. And when I say, everyone, I mean it. Even children could be seen, helping adults in preparations.
'A preparations for what?' You may ask. Well, for Dolores and Mariano's wedding, of course! Only last week, during beautiful sunset, did Mariano proposed to Dolores. It only took Dolores a few seconds, to realize what was happening and when she did, a loud 'yes!' could be heard from where they were standing.
Later that night, a young couple announced they're engagement to the rest of the Madrigal's. Of course, everyone were happy for them! Alma, as the oldest and the head of the family, gave them her blessing and immediately went, to announce the great news to the whole Encanto. Above Pepa's head a beautiful rainbow appeared, as she and Felix gave them their blessings and many tight hugs and kisses. Julieta and Augustin, too rushed where the couple were and gave them tight hugs, softly congratulating them. Mirabel, Louisa and Isabela gave each other high fives, with satisfied smirks on their faces. And Camilo and Antonio rushed towards their sister, showering her in affection, because they loved her and were a little sad that she was 'leaving' them to start a new chapter in her life.
The next day, congratulations were thrown at the young couple from every corner. Everyone, and I mean, everyone were happy for them.
The date of the wedding was quickly picked and preparations for this event had officially begun! And oh boy, was there a lot to do.
Decorations, food, guests, wedding dress, suit for Mariano...the list goes on and on. Poor Dolores became a nervous wreck. Even when her family assured her, that they would help her the best they could, her worries and fears took the best of her. All she could see was a vision of her wedding being ruined, just like her mom's. No, she wasn't angry at uncle Bruno, because he couldn't control his visions, but she was worried that something else my ruin her special day. After all, there were so many things that could go wrong! Poor thing, practically switched roles with her mother. Now Pepa was the one who had to constantly calm her daughter down...
While Dolores was too busy worrying about her nearing wedding, in reality everything was going smoothly. Under the watchful eye of Alma, people worked day after day. Pepa helped everyone by just being in a good mood and giving them the sunny weather all week. Julietta, with help, spend hours in the kitchen, preparing dishes. Isabela helped to make a lot of flowers needed for the decorations, Louisa put things into their rightful places and Mirabel locked herself inside her room, sewing her cousin wedding dress. Antonio choose to spend time with his mother and sister and Camilo? Camilo was everywhere, doing everything. Since he can change forms, he could practically everything. From helping with decorations to trying to make his sister laugh.
And Camilo didn't mind. He liked feeling useful and was driven by the fact that it was his older sister wedding. Those two sources of motivation, gave him necessary boosts of energy to help around. Besides, he had another, secret, motivation...
(name) Guzman. She was Mariano's cousin and Camilo and her had met some time ago. He didn't really remember how it had happened, but he and (name) became good friends. And recently something more. Again, Camilo didn't know how it came to be, but he was happy. Really happy and stupidly in love.
But since Camilo and (name) heard about the engagement, they've decided to keep their relationship a secret. They had agreed on that without hesitation. They didn't want to ruin his sister's and her cousin's special time. Their relationship could wait a little longer and they were more than fine with that.
But Bruno shattered their peace by being the usual lovely dork that he was. While you and Camilo were on a date, just a picnick in the middle of the meadow, Bruno decided that he wanted to go on a stroll with his rat friend, Alina. The youngest Madrugal triplet was having nice conversation with Alina, when he noticed his nephew and Mariano's cousin having a picnicking. At first, he thought that it was just two friends who decided to hang out, so he let it slide. And then...
Bruno saw Camilo hugging you tightly and kissing your cheek lovingly.
Bruno gasped once again, and Alina squeaked loudly, but this time louder and unfortunately, he managed to catch attention of his nephew, who in flash turned his head around and his warm brown eyes met his green ones. Camilo eyes widened as his shoulders tensed up, quickly realizing what had just occurred.
His uncle found out that you're dating and tomorrow was a last dinner between Guzman's and Madrigal's before the wedding day.
You were doomed.
Tumblr media
The dinner time came much quicker than Camilo would like. After your date, he couldn't stop thinking about his uncle potentially spoiling his sister's day. His brain kept showing him awful visions of potential future, where Bruno accidentally tells both his and your family that you're dating and Dolores would be devastated, because all attention is now on you. And how she would cry, because her special day was ruined because of you.
No, he won't allow it to happened. Camilo will make sure of it. Everything, the dinner and the wedding, will go smoothly.
Oh how wrong he was.
Since it was special day, today's dinner was served outside. The delicious food was laid on the table, Isabela made a two small bouquets that she puts into glass vases and placed them on the table and everyone sat down in their places. Mariano sat with his fiance and you sat next to him. Camilo sat opposite of you, and just besides his dear uncle. Alma with a warm smile, welcomed everyone and the dinner had officially begun.
While everyone were chatting happily, Camilo kept a watchful eye out for his uncle. Every time Bruno opened his mouth, he received a glare from his nephew, making poor man gulp and turn his head to the other side. In some way, Camilo was succeeding in keeping his uncle quiet. So far, everything was going smoothly...
❝ Can someone pass me arepa? ❞ Asked Alma, looking at the plate on the other side of the table.
❝ Here-! ❞
❝ Let me-! ❞
Both Camilo and Bruno reached for the plate and their hands had accidentally touched. Both men were blinded by the green color, as they both witness what was about to come. There was Dolore's wedding and...you. It looked like you had cached the bouquet and Camilo was hugging you, kissing your cheek. Then, he saw everyone standing around them, probably gasping in surprise. Tomorrow, everyone would know...Dolores would be devastated...
❝ Camilo...! ❞
❝ Bruno...! ❞
❝ Wake up! ❞ Both Camilo and Bruno snapped out of the trace after hearing Alma's voice. Like they were burned, both men jumped away from each other, trying to catch their breaths. Only after Camilo looked down at himself, did he realize that he accidentally keep changing into you, Bruno, Dolores and Mariano. Taking a deep breath, Camilo stopped changing, a looked at his uncle with wide eyes, trying to make sense of what he had just seen.
❝ Brunito, what happened?! ❞ Asked worried Alma, quickly running to his son and checking on him.
❝ Was this about my wedding?! ❞ Dolores burst out, worry filling her doe like eyes again.
❝ No, no, no! It was just something about...uh...my room! ❞ Bruno tried to assure his niece, smiling awkwardly at everyone and apologizing every minute for the inconvenience.
❝ Yeah! Bruno has been training his powers and now he gets those small visions here and there. Hehehehe... ❞ Camilo joined his uncle and laughed it off, secretly feeling something dying inside of him.
After a few more minutes, everything went back to normal, and the dinner resumed. Food quickly disappeared and Mariano had to go back with his family. You all said your goodbyes and parted your ways, while Madrigal's keep waving at you. And when you disappeared from their sight, Dolores was quick to grasp his uncle arm and started dragging him towards the kitchen. Ignoring his uncle protests, everyone rushed after the bride and Camilo was ahead of the rest. His heart squeezed painfully, afraid that Bruno would tell her everything.
❝ What did you see?! Tell me! ❞ He heard Dolore's yelling, as he had entered the kitchen.
❝ N-Nothing! ❞
❝ Tell me! ❞ Dolores started to shake the poor man by his shoulders, desperate to know the answer.
❝ Dolores! Stop this at once! ❞ Alma was quick to react, and step in at the right time, freeing Bruno from the poor girl's grasps. Older woman checked on her precocious son, caressing his cheeks and trying to calm him down.
❝ Brunito, go to your room... ❞
Camilo watched everything happening before him, feeling guilty. He tried so hard to stop this disaster from ruining his sister mood and he still failed...
❝ Camilo... ❞ He heard his mother calling him and he turned around to face her. Camilo saw a stormy cloud above her head, and feel even more guilty. Now his sister and mami were in a bad mood...
❝ Please, tell us what you saw... ❞ Begged him Pepa, grasping his hands in her own, looking into his soul. The young boy was forced to make a decision he was not ready for. Gulping, Camilo shook his head softly and whispered:
❝ Nothing...❞
❝...good ❞ Camilo added in his head, knowing perfectly well, that story about his mother's wedding would be repeating itself tomorrow.

random Encanto headcanons that I don't know what else to do with
When Julieta had pregnancy cravings, she made it everyone's problem. Who knew pickles and ice cream were so good for burns?
If one of the babies couldn't sleep, Agustin often would take them into a quiet room and softly play lullabies on the piano, with the baby in his lap, or resting on his shoulder.
Luisa, Dolores, and Mirabel loved it the most, and it would put them to sleep instantly.
Dolores' room isn't entirely soundproof, but there is a specific area that is, so if she needs a minute of peace she can chill in there. This is also where her bed is.
This is a popular hangout whenever someone has juicy gossip.
She doesn't always like it when it's too quiet though, it feels wrong. Sometimes instead of her bed, she'll snuggle up on the window seat and listen to the sounds of the Encanto to lull her to sleep.
This is how she listens to Mariano's poetry. While she hears a lot, if she really focuses she can hone in on specific sounds.
His voice is her favorite.
Camilo does every school play, and almost always gets the lead, since he can always look the part.
Both Camilo and Mirabel are the go-to town babysitters.
Luisa loves stuffed animals. Her dad gets her one every year on her birthday, and she sleeps in a giant pile of them.
One time Julieta came to wake her up, and could barely find her daughter in the giant mountain of stuffed toys.
Luisa is a total daddy's girl. Whenever she gets too stressed, she can always count on her dad to give her a comforting hug or to clumsily braid her hair. It always ends up looking horrible, but she doesn't mind. Isabela can always fix it later.
She may be bigger than him, but she's still his little girl, and he often reminds her of this.
Mirabel always handmakes birthday presents. Whether it's embroidering delicate handwork onto a handkerchief for Agustin, or painting a picture frame for Abuela, you can always count on her gifts to be heartfelt and made with love.
Abuela isn't always as cruel to Mirabel as seen in the movie.
She's tough on her, and could definitely use some tact, but she still loves her granddaughter very much, and does tell her so.
Albeit not as often as she should.
Isabela names her succulents, as if they were pets.
She grows unusual herbs and vegetables that can't easily be found in the market for Julieta's recipes.
She has a particular fascination for carnivorous plants. It's not concerning at all.
While Pepa's emotions change the weather, she can control them if she really tries to.
If the crops are too dry, she is able to make it rain at-will, she just has to focus.
Unfortunately she has yet to perfect the skill, just because she was never really allowed to practice much, always trying to repress the brunt of her emotions.
The triplets were nothing but chaos as kids.
Bruno and Pepa were the most toxic pair. They'd either be getting along great and scheming to pull a prank on their sister, or squaring up with each other in the hallway for absolutely no reason. There was no in between.
Alma had to teach Julieta how to cook, because even though they technically worked - no one in town wanted to eat another mudpie.
Felix and Dolores enjoy to cook. While Julieta does do a majority of the cooking, sometimes they take over to give her a break.
Agustin is actually self-sufficent in the kitchen, but no one trusts him near the stove enough to let him cook often.
He makes a mean hot chocolate though. Maybe better than Julieta's. Don't tell her that though.
Alma has the best family recipes, and often helps Julieta prepare them, especially for holidays.
Luisa hates spiders. Antonio tries to tell her they're harmless, even translating for them, but to no avail. She absolutely hates them.
Camilo kills them for her, but never in front of Antonio. He found that out the hard way.
Antonio cried the first time he stepped on a bug after he got his gift. It was disturbing to hear.
He eventually stopped eating meat altogether, because talking with animals while eating their bretheren just felt... wrong.
Agustin is a cat person.
Julieta has two left feet when she dances, but Agustin still insists on twirling her through the house, even if it ends up with them both in a heap on the floor. Ulterior motives.
Pepa and Felix have a canopy over their bed, but it's more like a tarp. Felix was tired of waking up in a puddle, and installed it.
Pepa is more upset she hadn't thought of it before.
Bruno enjoys drawing.
He's actually pretty artistic, but doesn't often show off his work.
Mirabel is horrible at drawing however, which is frustrating when she's trying to visualize a new sewing design.
In these cases, she'll describe what she's invisioning, and Bruno draws them.
Alma taught all her granddaughters how to sew (or at least mend), but Mirabel was the only one to take much of a liking to it.
She makes all kinds of intricate embroidery work, while Isabela can barely sew a button back on.
Some of the "prophecies" that caused the town to reject Bruno weren't even visions.
Like that guy with the gut? He didn't see that, he just made a comment on the guy's poor diet.
Same with the fish lady. He could tell the fish was sick, and recommended a vet or else it might die.
Dolores knits.
Morning people: Alma, Julieta, Luisa, Dolores, Antonio, Felix
Would sleep until noon if they could: Pepa, Bruno, Isabela, Mirabel, Agustin, Camilo
Julieta is very touchy-feely. Whether it's hugs, kisses, handholding, cuddles, etc. she loves it. If Juli loves you, you'll know by the amount of kisses you receive.
Pepa and Felix knew they were pregnant first, but Isabela was born first. They're just better at tracking these things.
Mirabel was a rainbow baby. A true miracle.

I recently realized that, before Felix and Agustin, Bruno had only ever lived with women, his mother and sisters. He'd been the only man in the house, so when Felix and Agustin move in he has no baseline for how it is to live with other men. That must have been quite an adjustment.
I imagine one time, Felix and Agustin get into a fight. It gets pretty heated, something stupid they are disagreeing on. No big deal to them. But Bruno thinks "Oh no!"
Because fights between his sisters last forever. They are girls. They hate on each other in silence for weeks. When Julieta and Pepa fight, the whole house is divided into sections that the other is not allowed to step into. Casita is in on it and throws the offending party out if a line is crossed. Bruno will have to deliver messages between his sisters constantly but God have mercy on him if he tries to help or intervene. This is a girl's matter and Casita is declared a cold war zone until one or both forget what the fight was even about.
And now Felix and Agustin are fighting. How do men fight? Surely even worse. Mama always says that men are more aggressive than girls. Will they be fistfighting daily now? Will they try to rope Bruno into those fights? He can't fight! Not with those noodle arms!
But the next day there are no fights. Bruno finds both men in the kitchen, preparing a snack and laughing together.
"What happened?", he'll ask.
"What do you mean?"
"You were fighting yesterday. You.. You were screaming at each other."
"Got a little heated at the end there, huh? Oh well, nothing a couple beers with my cunado-to-be can't fix, right Agustin?"
"To be honest, I can't even remember what we were fighting about..."
To any other man it might be women who are the mystery. But Bruno knows women, he's lived with three of them his whole life. He knows when to keep his distance, what time of month he better not eat the last chocolate and how to braid hair in 10 different ways.
Yes. Bruno knows women.
Men on the other hand, are a real mystery.

La Llorna Mirabel AU where a five year old Mirabel drowns in a river after being allowed to wander off.
When a lone Mirabel fell into the river, everyone was too busy to notice.
Julieta was in town square, passing out her daily remedies, while Agustin assisted her.
Pepa was using her grief over the fact that her hermanito had left to water the farmer’s fields.
Bruno was in the walls, wishing there was more that he could do to help his sobrina.
Luisa was collecting those stupid donkeys that were always getting out.
Isabela was passing out bouquets with Abuela’s supervision. She was splitting her task between watching Isa and keeping an eye on Camilo who was entertaining the other children.
Felix was at home with poor Dolores who was dealing with a sensory overload after overhearing one of the villagers giving birth while on her walk. They were in her room so she couldn’t hear anything anymore.
Mirabel was supposed to stay inside. But after begging Casita for a bit to let her out to play, Casita had relented. The five year old’s ceremony had only been a month ago but a lot had already changed in her life.
It seemed nobody had time for her, since Alma had started cracking down to prove that the miracle was still strong. The only time she could have was in the morning, while she’d found herself spending her afternoons mostly alone.
Casita had meant well when they let Mirabel out to play, in hopes of the fresh air and open space helping the girl perk up.
There was noway anyone could have noticed Mirabel. She had tried to follow a butterfly that landed on a leaf floating in the river. She had taken her little shoes off and waded in, when she’d lost her balance to the current. She’d hit her head on a rock, knocking the poor girl out before being swept by the water.
It wasn’t until the evening that anyone realized that Mirabel was not in Casita, when her parents had begun preparing dinner and Her father had gone up to bring her down to eat only to find the nursery void of the youngest Madrigal.
After checking every room, gradually the panic set in. Abuela tried to keep everyone calm but this was shattered when one of the villagers came to the door.
His brother had found Mirabel’s body, when going over the bridge in town.
The Encanto suffered a hurricane that same evening.

The Sun was starting to set down and the thought of the night falling again almost brought her to tears. The amount of time they had been walking with their clothes on their back and wearing the only shoes they had was unknown to Antonia, she had lost track of the passing days since her parents laid still on a wooden cart, carried by a donkey who was almost as sick as them.
Her arms were wrapped around her baby brother so tightly she thought maybe they were frozen in place and her feet had barely enough strength to lift off the ground, but somehow she kept walking.
It wasn't that she was scared of the dark, the last nights she had started seeing fireflies as she crossed the mountains and they were good company, but the men that had come to take their home had done it in the middle of the night and she couldn't help but feel vulnerable.
Their riffles had ripped through the silence with the sharpness of thunder, voices as destructive as earthquakes yelling orders in a violence that was foreign to her home and among the screaming and the crying, the firelight made the splatter of blood in front of the church seem scarier.
Antonia saw through the fogginess in her eyes the lights of the town and she prayed dearly not to be imagining it. Voices approached them and they scared her at first, but these were not like the men with the riffles, they were soft and welcoming.
Having called it a day, the Madrigals were preparing for dinner. Julieta and Pepa worked in front of the stove calmly with their husbands, while Mirabel and Camilo chased after the soft steps of baby Antonio, Luisa lifted wherever chair, table or even closet the toddler happened to stand on, prompting his laughter and Isabela gave him a flower every time he ran near her. Alma, the matriarch of the family, watched all the mayhem with a smile from her seat, so absorbed in it she missed the first knocks on the door, but the second time they came around, they were more urgent and impossible to ignore.
With a confused frown she walked up to the door, followed by her family, and felt how her heart dropped to her feet as soon as she opened it. In front of them, a girl trembled with a little boy clenched to her chest and behind her, a cart with who they assumed were her very sick parents and some nearly empty bags.
Alma's soul shivered at the sight of the growing tears in the girl's eyes, the image was all too familiar to her and she knew what had happened even before the priest started explaining. "What's your name?" She asked softly.
The girl had to swallow, rather difficultly, several times before answering with a fine thread for a voice, "I'm Antonia, this is my brother Mateo, and my parents, Carlos and Anastasia," she said, "and Pericles," she motioned to the donkey.
It only took one nod from Alma for the whole family to go into action: Luisa softly took both adults in her arms and carried them inside the house, Agustin and Felix took both the cart and the donkey to the stables, and Antonia was gently lead inside the house as well.
Julieta felt the need to cry and Pepa tried hardly to control her clouds, but seeing her made them want to break down, because beneath all the dirt, the cold, the tiredness and very obvious sickness, there was a girl who was about the same age as Camilo and Mirabel.
Pepa extended her arms to the child on Antonia's and at first she looked at her clueless, and then she squeezed him somehow harder, prompting a cough on him, "it's okay," the woman said with her musical voice, "you're safe now."
Haltingly, she let go of Mateo for Pepa to grab. He was devastatingly sick and apparently also the same age as her youngest, Antonio, her heart clenched and she had to use all her strength of will not to rain on him.
As if all of her strength was being poured into carrying her brother, Antonia's body failed on her and it was Camilo that caught her before she fell on the floor nearly fainted.
His heart was beating fast. Of course, he had heard the story of his grandmother a thousand times, but he had never been so close to someone who had been through the same as her. The subtle realization that his abuela's displacement was more than a story made him tremble.
"The food will be ready soon. Mirabel," Julieta announced in an unusual severity, making her daughter rush to the front, "mija, help Antonia take a bath and lend her some clothes."
Mirabel nodded and, with the help of her cousin, they led the girl upstairs to her room. Antonia was so weak, they were practically carrying her weight, which in all honesty wasn't much. "I'll be right here if you need anything," Camilo told Mirabel when they got to the door of her room, receiving a nod in response.
Swiftly, Mirabel ran her a bath and helped her get in it. Antonia shivered when she found herself submerged in the fresh water, but still sighed with relief as the dirt fell from her skin. The Madrigal girl grabbed a plate and started pouring water in the head of her companion to help her wash her hair.
It was silent, Antonia swallowed so often and with such difficultly, Mirabel preferred not to try to have a conversation with her, she imagined talking strained her far too much, but there were so many questions going through her head. She wanted to ask where they came from, when had they fell sick, why was she bruised all over and had her knees scrapped.
She wondered if that's how her abuela looked like when the blessing found her.
"My family," Antonia's voice took her by surprise. She was rubbing her eyes once again and shivering a little, so Mirabel helped her on her feet and covered her with a towel.
"My ma Julieta will heal them and you, you will all be okay." Mirabel assured, looking for some clothes that would fit her. "Do you... know where you are? Who we are?"
"I hope I'm in the village of Encanto, with the family that was blessed with magical gifts, the Madrigals... are you them? Are the stories true?" Antonia asked cautiously.
"Yes, to all of the above," she answered with a small laugh helping her fit the skirt around her skinny waist. Mirabel didn't want to ask how long had she been holding the hunger, "that's actually by mother's gift: her food heals people."
"And it can heal anything? Because my parents and Mateo are very ill."
"She can heal anything. When you're better, I will show the other's gifts." Antonia nodded.
Mirabel opened the door of her room and, just like promised, Camilo was right there waiting. He rushed to grab Antonia's arm and put it over his shoulders, she was still far too weak to even stand on her own. Now that she was bathed and had clean clothes, she looked even more sick, her skin was pale, her lips were chapped, she had some very dark circles below her eyes, those that looked in only one direction, like blind people do.
"Is there something wrong with your eyes?" Camilo asked, earning a frown from his cousin, that had been abstaining of asking the same thing to not be imprudent.
"I-I don't know," Antonia admitted quivering, "there's something covering them, like some sort of fog."
When they got to the end of the stairs, Camilo softly grabbed her face to look into her eyes. She was so cold, the contrast with his warm fingers brought a blush up to her cheeks, making the boy smirk lightly. "Well, I don't see anything over them, but tía Julieta may be a better judge of that."
Carefully, they sat her down in Camilo's usual seat while Julieta poured some sancocho in a bowl and heard her youngest tell her about Antonia's eyes. She softly grabbed the girl's face right after she set down the bowl in front of her, "maybe she needs glasses like me?"
"No," her mother sighed, "it's a humidity thing, probably catched an infection out there. Get me my medicines, will you, mija?" Mirabel ran upstairs with the help of casita, almost colliding with Alma in the stairs, while Julieta kept inspecting Antonia's eyes with a frown. "How much can you see?"
"Enough."
"Enough sounds accurate," said Alma making her way up to her seat at the head of the table, "were you looking for Encanto, Antonia?"
"Yes." Antonia felt like she needed to add something, but they already knew that they had lost their home and walked a great distance from there. There wasn't much to add.
"Well, if you're going to stay, you will need a house," Camilo's shoulders perked up at his abuela's cheerful tone, "we can start tomorrow morning and you can stay her at casita in the meantime, while you all get better."
"Oh, no, no, no," she quickly moved her head in what she assumed was the matriarch's general direction, "we don't want to cause any trouble, all we needed was to get somewhere safe and now we're here... you don't need to build us a house, we—"
"Antonia," Alma interrupted grabbing her hand, "you delivered your family and yourself here, to us, sick and half blind, you don't need to do more. Let us take over."
She heard Mirabel arrive with a box full of bottles made of glass, the smell of the soup took over her nostrils and she felt such warm radiate from the grandmother's hands, she found herself nodding.
