🌿 As you might have noticed, I mostly use this platform to post photos of nature or the symbiosis of nature and human (mostly if not exclusively this specific human - me 🙋). However, sometimes I find myself in a city or in a village that just takes my breath away and I feel like I have to take some photos that aren't exactly nature-related, since they're mostly man-made. I feel like this is slowly evolving to be my style for this feed - moody nature shots with a sprinkle of architecture just to separate everything and to keep the flow going. 🌱 • 🌈 This shot was taken in Ljubljana at the Dragon bridge. Many of you might not know the legend of this dragon, however he has been a symbol of our people for centuries. And the legend says that it was Jason and the Argonauts (who fled from Greece after they stole the Golden fleece) that defeated this savage monster and saved the farmers of the Ljubljana region. 🦎 • 🐾 Now, the legend might be true, but we'll never know. We just know that he has been guarding this ancient city bravely and loyally for hundreds of years, never straying from his position. And I think he deserves a hug for that. Love on Butcher’s Bridge. What do you do when you are in love? Simple. Etch your names onto padlocks, lock then up on a bridge, and throw away the keys. Well, not any bridge. The Butcher's Bridge in Ljubljana is not the most romantic spots in the city. It's name doesn't help either. However, that hasn't stopped lovers, young and old, from locking up their souls together all along the steel wire railings. The bridge itself is quite a recent addition, having been built in 2010. Spanning across the Ljubljanica river, it connects the Central market with the Petkovsek Embankment. It was built more as an art installation than anything else, and features glass panels near the edges, along with some fascinating, if slightly grotesque, sculptures by Jakov Brdar. And if, at some point of time, you have a change of heart, good luck trying to find that key. Life can sometimes turn things on their head. 🌈 Today I have been feeling kind of nostalgic. Due to some family matters I couldn't take a trip for the last two weeks and it shows. I have been distant, melancholic and a bit passive aggressive concerning my everyday tasks. My soul aches for nature.
