WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE ANTHRO CHARACTER?
Tumblr media
I've been obsessed with anthro animal characters ever since I first got my hands on a library VHS copy of lady and the tramp as a little kid. Unbeknownst to me this was my first step towards a downward spiral into having a fursona and constantly browsing faux fur fabric online. Vote for your favorite furry/furry adjacent character in the FURRY FACEOFF!
WHO COUNTS?
any fictional animal with human characteristics. Bonus points if they regularly inspire furries. They do not have to be a mammal. They do not have to stand on two legs. Real people and real furs will not be counted. I'm open to considering characters like werewolves, catgirls, or animatronics (cough FNAF cough) who aren't typical "anthro animals" if they get enough support. If the character has a good chance of making someone into a furry, I'll count it. Make your case!
Edit: I won't count nominations along the lines of "everybody in [story]", you can submit either single characters (ex: Lady from Lady and the Tramp) or duos/teams with a strong basis of being a duo/team (ex: TMNT)
HOW DO I NOMINATE A CHARACTER?
glad you asked! Nominate here through this google doc and feel free to nominate as many characters as you want. PLEASE only nominate a character one time, but I'm aware that I cannot feasibly stop you from doing otherwise.
HOW WILL THIS POLL WORK?
I will take nominations for 5 days. If I dont have many nominations in 5 days I'll just extend nominations until I have enough. Depending on how many character nominated that I agree upon, there will be a elimination google doc to get an amount of characters to use for the poll. After that, I will make a bracket sheet for the remaining characters based upon how many votes they get. Rounds will be posted on a weekly basis from Thursday-Sunday. If no one responds or this post doesn't get enough attention we're all gonna forget I did this, okay?
ANYTHING ELSE?
don't be rude and just have fun. this is just a silly bracket that I think would be fun to make. :3c I encourage "propaganda" for characters and WILL reblog it if you make it
tags / I was inspired by: @bestbutchbracket @best-fnaf-character @mad-scientist-showdown @doctorbracket @siblingtournament @baldguy-fight @baldguyswagcompetition @battle-of-the-lawyers thanks for being silly and fun!!!!!!
Reblogs from anyone would be appreciated to get this blog up and boomin' ! Thank you all!

I'm so sad shaz. JK most probably went to attend and perform at VMA and will win too. You know who else could've done the same ? Jimin.
They are not even nominated in same category
JK is for song of the summer while Jimin was 101% deserved to be nominated AND win in kpop category. BUT THEY DIDN'T 💔💔💔💔Now other groups who doesn't have half the streams, impact and charting is being nominated on kpop category which was started just because of BTS to begin with. I dont think that shit ass company will allow Jimin to be nominated in any future award shows 💔
Well, word is VMAs are only allowing people in the US to vote so... idk how this affects JK's chances.
Of course Jimin deserves to be nominated but there is no way to know for sure why he wasn't 🤔 An artist has to agree to it and Jimin promoted mostly in SK as opposed to JK who chose international H20s so there is no way of knowing if he's the one who didn't want to, or if it was the company.
Either way anon, no need to be sad. I think Jimin went about things the way he wanted to. I'm sad he didn't get the same push JK did. But something tells me PJM2 might be different 🤔

Sashannarcy isint word of god [as far as I know] or implied in my opinion so that’s why I didn’t submit them personally, although I will vote for them if they get in. [this isn’t meant to be rude to anyone who did submit them to the canon showdown though!! If you see them as implied I totally understand]
back during the first poll multiple people told me they were word of god and i think someone sent evidence? (i didnt ask for it, i believe it was sent as propaganda) i could ve misremembering that part tho, in which case im sorry (if anyone has the word of god evidence that was sent before feel free to send it btw cause it would help me)
i didnt watch the show at all so idk how id feel about it being implied personally but i got the feeling in power polycule showdown that a Lot of people saw them that way, which is why i was surprised to get so few nominations! there were definitely good enough arguments to get them is as implied canon, tho! So they're back in this one!
its totally fair if you dont get the same vibes btw! again i didnt watch the show and even if i had its not my place to force people to agree w a ship, that'd be silly and ot the fun silly

Thank you for not block evading /gen (I’m not anyone who has you blocked but I really appreciate the respect you show for other fans whether or not you agree with them)
the whole point of analysis is to share your opinion and see who agrees or have discussions with people who dont. that's what makes it nice. but it's also important to curate your experience and block people who make you uncomfortable in any way. i have no ill feelings to people who have me blocked (okay, maybe some, but not in a way that's genuine anger more just light-hearted pettiness) and i unblocked a lot people because if they were receiving votes it was because what they wrote was appreciated by others.
i hosted these to give people in the community some love. even if someone wasnt nominated or didnt make it to the finals or doesnt win, it still goes to show that analysis writers are appreciated! 57 people nominated bloggers who they liked to read and as of right now, less than three hours after posting the final vote form, 226+ people have voted for the finalists.
if someone gets enough nominations to make it into the finals, even if i dislike them, it means they are cared about a lot by the community im also in. that's why i did this and it would make no sense to exclude someone i had blocked but if someone has me blocked i have no choice since there's no way for me to get that to them!

Not voting is never the educated option. You're leaving decisions up to other people. It's a copout so people can say "oh well it wasn't my choice". You have to do research and vote for the lesser evil. Make the poles see that young people ARE voting. We are the biggest demographic and we should be voting so politicians wise up and see we care
We’ve been taught that not voting is seen as going against our civil duty, and we often believe that if you don’t vote then you’re obviously contributing to the problem of a shitty president being elected, etc. There are numerous reasons people don’t vote (”educated” or not) and its highly privileged to assume everyone does and should.
At times we do not want to vote for the “lesser evil”, because it is still evil. I would not blame anyone for refusing to participate this year; Trump and Biden are essentially the same evil person. Young people may not be voting, but they are participating in many other ways (canvassing, rallies, policial associations, clubs, volunteering). Many people cannot vote because they are undocumented, are incarcerated, or there are structures in place to make voting or registering to vote incredibly difficult (black/brown neighborhoods).
The choice to not vote is definitely an educated one and has been used by grassroots activists, anarchists, and a lot of indigenous peoples who reside in the colonized state. Refusing to vote is an act of decolonization. Imagine what would happen if millions of people just decided not to vote? Some may call that complete chaos, but it might just be proof of rejecting an incredibly failing system that was already designed to not give voice to certain people. And it is not someone’s fault for not voting and the wrong person gets voted into power; the electoral college exists in this country and its existence in itself marginalizes black/brown/indigenous voters and voices. There’s already so many issues with polls in this country (long lines, unable to take off work, inaccessible polls, harassment) and even structural problems (gerrymandering, etc). There are a lot of leftists movements who refuse to participate in the system here because it is broken beyond reform. The country is increasingly moving to the right, the Democratic Party is defending fascists, and any true leftists politics here gets shut down, censored, silence, or disappeared.
I agree that voting is all we have, but so is the choice to not vote. I dont ever intend to tell anyone what to do with their civil duty, I simply would prefer people to shed the rhetoric that not voting is stupid or bad. I also already explained that I personally would vote whenever I can, but I also wouldn’t feel bad about not voting. If anything, local elections impact a person’s immediate community more than presidential elections, so voting in those are definitely important. In fact, I’d argue they’re more important. We won’t be able to change the fascist political system in place now by the top down, its by the bottom up. If we put judges, senators, governors, etc, in place that care for the working class and minorities, then it would only continue to trickle upwards.
While there are certainly people who dont vote because they feel their voice won't count or just because they dont care, those are still educated choices because it requires an understanding, and that understanding is that the political system is a failure to the marginalized and always has been.
Overall, I do agree that we should be voting and that if you are able to you should do it. But we shouldn’t dismiss those who dont as uneducated. Bernie is still on the ballot and I will be voting for him, as will everyone hoping that Biden does not get the nomination. But there's a growing movement of rejecting the establishment, and with that is the refusal of voting between a piece of shit rapist and a piece of shit rapist, regardless of party. Biden and Trump are the same person, dems do not even do a good job representing the voices of the marginalized (there are obvious exceptions like AOC, Omar, and Bernie), and this country is becoming disturbingly fascist.
Hope that helps.

@thisisthcnight @danceofsins
Yue Xie clan.
Young: I'm just waiting on the rage intensifying in the bond...
Jae: imagine if he wins
Young: ...Yeah the city will actually burn Young: he has to be up to something he's only ever that charming when he has a goal in mind.
Farid: I am terrified if you couldn't tell already. Lavinia: Hey guys, nice to meet you all. Young added me here so I hope you don't mind.
Young: best you meet them. Kisuke is still out of town. Everyone this is Lavinia our new sibling.
Jae: nice to finally meet you. And under such entertaining circumstances
Lavinia: Well, didn't think anyone of you would be really interested in meeting me, Either way, here is my thought on that whole political debacle or wtf ever is going on; I am voting for my friend.
Jae: you're family, of course we are interested
Lav: you all are very intriguing, that's all. But I am excited to meet you in person some time.
Young: I mean vote for who you want that's the point. I just hope not too many bought Si's bullshit
Jae: idk im convinced
Lav: I don't know him but he has already had an effect on my life so... well, i would have voted for Kang either way.
Jae:better than one of daria's puppets
Farid: Oh fuck no she is already in too much charge, we don't need more of that.
Young: I don't think anyone here would vote Lazar. Kang is a safer vote in my mind I think. But still not fully decided
Jae: dont play into her hands
Lav: I work for Kang, Kai and Sai and I have known them long and good enough to know his answers are genuine. I don't know any of the other people.
Jae: kang's a good neutral. Im just not neutral
Lav: I am here to listen to all your guys input on it because even though I know shit about politics, I know you all know what would be the best for us - especially since I am a new... addition? Which reminds me, Elias had some good points. It is definitely something to think about, not everyone can be as lucky as me. I have Yue, Kai and Young even to help me,
Young: so you are going to vote Si Jae?
Farid; I just need to know who I should vote for that is absolutely not Si.
Jae: yes Jae: i mean i would too if any of you ran
Young: Yeah but we are not wildcards like he is(edited)
Farid: Then this would have been an easy decision. Any of you.
Young: I was approached. I just don't fancy it. I think there are many things I rather do than do that.
Farid: Understandable. Which is even more confusing that Si wants it. He can't have good things in mind.
Young: I can only see two reasonings. A twisted sense that he wants to help Yue. Or he has other plans in mind. Hard to say.
Farid; God. This is not helping.
Young: Trying to figure out his reasonings is like navigating a labyrinth in pitch darkness. I'm not going to be concerned until we have the results.
Jae: well, cancel out daria's group, first Jae: unless you are into them
Young: That I do agree to
Farid: That's obvious
Young: Why do I get a feeling this is going to lead to another gang war...
Farid: Because it is. I don't see Daria dealing too well with losing.
Young: No I don't see it either
Farid: and if Si wins, it's going to be against us.
Young: Has anyone spoke to Yue about this yet?
Farid: she nominated her brother and now he nominates his? Not like it has happened but that is how it must look to her. Farid; No, unfortunately he does not seem to be in any reach... Farid: It would help.
Young: It would. I'll see if I can contact him and add him on here.
Farid: Yes, good idea.
Young has added Yue to the conversation
Farid: Oh thank god
Yue: I suppose this is about the elections? Young: No it's about how the world is flat... Of course it is Yue: Let me prepare myself and actually read the interviews. How did Si find out exactly?
Jae: i may have shared screen shots to show him how much of a crap show it all was
Farid: Fuck knows Farid: ... Fun.
Jae: it's not like i told him to come. No one tells him what to do
Yue: He would have found out about it eventually.
Farid: What are his motives?
Yue: at least this way he'll have eyes on him
Yue: I wish I knew Yue: He seems serious about it though. Even if he is a sociopathic asshole he might be trying to do this for my interests.
Jae: usually it's better the one we know? Jae: if the one we know wasnt si
Yue: Better the devil you know yes. I would rather a neutral candidate got the position
Jae: there's always kang
Yue: yes and he's the only truly neutral one there. If either Si or Lazar won I can't see it being peaceful for long afterwards
Farid: I would actually vote rather for Si than any of Daria's minions.
Yue: It's not that I don't think Lazar's has got the wrong intentions in heart. I am just a little concerned about how conflicts of interest are dealt with. I am also worried about what Si would do if Lazar won over him.
Farid: As much as she claims that he has no ties to her shit and what not - they are siblings. He will always put her first.
Yue: My thoughts exactly and I think this might be what Si is also trying to prove in his own way. As always he does things his way.
Farid: Okay, what do you suggest we do?
Jae: im going ti vote for si
Yue: I am voting Kang, I would very much like to avoid a district war.
Farid: Alright. I'm with you.
Young: Me too
Lavinia: I would have voted for Kang anyway but now I know someone who is hundred times smarter than me and understands politics will do it so... I feel better about it
Jae: and we shall see how it goes
Young: at least we can't say living here is boring
Farid: I miss boredom.

Hi! Same anon as the previous one. Tbh, I agree wholeheartedly with you. Y'see I do ask rhetorically, too but i could really accept and understand how and why ppl can be oblivious to IchiRuki, and somehow felt that the 'canon' should suffice, even the most excruciating of all is the fact a number found the ending even acceptable (ships aside, too). Again, I could respect that. But it's my greatest bane when ppl ask 'why' and not be clear they are asking rhetorically because I literally will
provide you an actual answer. And I get it, it’s the reason why ppl find shipping wars toxic and silly. But then again, as human, conflicts are always part of us (partly because as social psych explains so, we are gravitated to the negative for that allows us to change and survive), and the reason why “logical fallacies” are coined in the first place. Human will always debate, and argue about something; the only thing we could change is how we approach the opposing views.
Again, I dont condone any way, shape or form of abuse and harm. In some certain extent, I could perhaps understand it’s much harder for some IH to approach the actual argument being there’s either too much noise, and trapped in their own island between sea of salt. Thus becoming too acquianted w/ few IH who shared the same thought until it became their views as the only truth (see, that’s why its important to have debates! it is what keep us grounded and fair! Just like you said)
Who am I to speak though? I never ever challenged anyone anyways. And as you said, you just have to understand things in every way you could possibly think of–endless ‘whys’. Which is where I agree in your reply the most–this silly fandom wars is just the black mirror to every truth that lies beneath human psyche–the dark and the grimy. Heck, being a psych major is like staring at dark hole–at times, good, but most just plain confusing, revolting even or just heartbreaking.
Sorry it’s been long, but for the final of this ask: let me tell how glad I was with IchiRuki fandom I found in tumblr. It was the saltiest I’ve ever been (im not generally a fandom person anyways) but it’s the himalayan salt–expensive and actually nutritive it really deepened my desire to become wiser in general. And you for your wonderful essays, critiques and whatnot. I definitively would love to talk with you more not only about IchiRuki but the wonders and nightmare that us humans! Kudos!
I have sitting in my drafts a post spelling out my thoughts on “canon” (and thus, the people who cling to it) in that as a concept it privileges:
officiality over quality when it comes to validity (thus violating Sturgeon’s law)
corporations (intellectual property rights holders) over fans, and thus capitalists over proletarians
hierarchical dominance over mutualist networking within fandom
curative fandom over transformative fandom
genre over literary content
plot over characters
events over emotions
It is notable that (1) generally degrades art as a whole, (2) generally advances the capitalist agenda, and (3–7) generally advances the dominance of men over women (as the genders tend to be instructed by society to view these as A. dichotomies rather than spectrums, and B. to ascribe gender to them and make them polarities). These form the sides of a mutually reinforcing power structure (in the typical “Iron Triangle” fashion) designed to preserve and maintain the status quo.
Who really benefits from say, the policing of what is or is not “canon” in Star Wars? Disney, first and foremost. And then whomever (almost certainly male) decides to dedicate their time to memorizing the minutiae of whatever that corporation has decided is “legitimate.”
One can imagine a universe in which fan fic is recognized by companies for what it is: free advertising. (Much like fan art already is.) Instead, it is specifically targeted by demonetization efforts in a way that fan art isn’t. Why? Because it demonstrates that corporate control and “official” sanction has no bearing on quality, and it is thus viewed as undermining the official products.
In the same way, by demonstrating that most “canonical” works are frankly shit, it undermines the investiture of fans in focusing on details that are ultimately errata (the events, the plot, the genre), which is the core function of curative fandom and the reason for its hierarchical structure. The people who “know the most” are at the top, but what they “know” is basically useless garbage. And those people so-engaged are, of course, usually male.
To “destroy” the basis of their credibility, and indeed the very purpose of their community, is naturally viewed by them as an attack.
(This is not to say that efforts to tear down internal consistency within established cultural properties are good unto themselves, or even desirable. For example, efforts to redefine properties such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Ghostbusters, for the sake of a identity-politics agenda have largely A. failed as art, B. failed as entertainment, C. failed to attract the supposedly intended audience, and D. failed to advance the agenda in question. Trying to repurpose extant media in the name of culture wars is essentially always doomed to failure unless it is done deftly and gradually.)
(At the same time, this also shows what I was talking about last time, with regard to people seeing whatever they want to see. You will see people complain that Star Trek and Doctor Who didn’t “used to be so political,” which is obviously nonsense. These shows were always political. What changed was how their politics were presented. For example, Star Trek has, since TNG, always shown a nominally socialist or outright communist future, but was beloved by plenty of conservatives because they could [somehow] ignore that aspect of it.)
Of course, almost no one is seriously suggesting that one side of the spectrums outlined above be destroyed, rather merely that a new balance be struck upon the spectrum. But, as we have seen time and again in society, any threat to the status quo, whether that be 20% of Hugo Awards going to non-white male authors or the top income tax rate in America being increased by a measly 5.3% (from 28.7% to 34%… when the all-time high was 94% and for over 50 years it was above 50%) is a threat. This is why, for example, Republicans are out there branding AOC as a “socialist” when her policies are really no different at all from a 1960 Democrat who believed in FDR’s New Deal. (Which they, of course, have also demonized as “socialism.”)
(As an aside, all this ignores the fact that most of the “literary canon” of Western civilization, or at least English literature… is Biblical or historical fan fic.)
And this is when I finally get to my point.
Those people out there who denigrate and mock shippers and shipping, the people who hurl “it reads like fan fiction” as an insult, and so on, are the people who benefit from and enjoy the extant power structure. You will see the same thing with self-identified “gamers” complaining about “fake girl gamers.” Admitting that the hobby has a lot of women in it, and a lot of “casuals,” and is indeed increasingly dominated by “non-traditional demographics” is an affront to the constructed identity of being a “gamer.” They are “losing control.” And they don’t like it.
This exact same sort of population is what the “fanbase” of Bleach has been largely reduced down to through a slow boiling off of any actual quality. Of course they’re dismissive of people who are looking for anything of substance: their identity, their “personal relationship” with the franchise, is founded on a superficial appreciation of it: things happening, flashy attacks, eye-catching character designs, fights, etc.
(What this really boils down to, at heart, is that society at large has generally told men that emotions are bad, romance and relationships of all kinds are gross, and that thinking and reflecting on things is stupid. So of course they not only don’t care about such things, but actively sneer at them as “girly” or “feminine,” which is again defined by society at large as strictly inferior. And this gender divide and misogyny is of course promulgated and reinforced by the powers that be, the capitalists, to facilitate class divisions just like say racism generally is.)
(The latest trick of these corporate overlords has been the weaponization of “woke” culture to continue to play the people off one another all the time. “If you don’t like this [poorly written, dimensionless Mary Sue] Strong Female Character, then you are a racist misogynist!” They are always only ever playing both sides for profit, not advancing an actual ideological position. It is worth noting that there was a push by IH some years ago to define IR as “anti-feminist” for critiquing Orihime for essentially the exact same reasons [admittedly, not for profit, but still as critical cover].)
Which makes it very curious, therefore, that the most ardent IH supporters tend to be women. (Though there are more than a few men, they seem to tend to support it because it is “canon” and to attack it is to attack “canon” and thus trigger all of the above, rather than out of any real investment.) I think there are a number of reasons for this (which I have detailed before) and at any rate it is not particularly surprising; 53% of white women voted for Trump, after all.
What we are really seeing in fandom, are again the exact same dynamics that we see at larger and larger scales, for the exact same reasons. The stakes are smaller, but the perception of the power struggle is exactly the same.
Of course, the people who are involved in these things rarely think to interrogate themselves as to the true dimensions and root causes of their motivations. People rarely do that in general.
Putting all that aside, I’m glad that you have found a place you enjoy and feel comfortable, and thank you for the kind words, although I am not of the opinion that there is anything poignant about the non-fiction I write. It is, as I keep trying to emphasize, all there to be seen. One just has to open their eyes. So, it’s hard for me to accept appreciation of it.
Anyway, don’t feel shy about coming off of anon rather than continuing to send asks. We don’t really bite.

this is very different than my usual content but the time has come where people are campaigning for the next election, and i’m seeing all those posts like:
SUPPORT THE DEM CANDIDATE! EVEN IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM THEY ARE ALWAYS BETTER THAN DONALD TRUMP!
and yes. i agree. i do not wanna get stuck w that man for another four years. he’s gotten to the point where he’s like cartoon evil. BUT i feel like we’re skipping over the part where there are primaries. the dem nomination is essentially UP TO US. so you still need to heavily research candidates so you can vote for the candidate who you think will be able to move the country forward the best.
basically, i don’t like kamala harris. she always seems to be in bed with private prison owners, her claims that she wants to work for prison reform are not backed by her previous actions, she’s been blatantly transphobic and forced trans women to reside in men's prisons where they experienced a lot of harassment and assault.
i also don’t really like joe biden. i urge you to look up his past record as a senator and also look into his racist/homophobic remarks even within the past ten years. not voting for a candidate because they said something racist is not #cancelculture. politicians should be held accountable for racist behavior because they’re in a position of power that could be damaging to poc. he’s very touchy around women (even young girls) in a way that is very much Creepy Uncle, and his defense against this behavior was that he’s friendly! he’s just a friendly guy! this was not an apology, not a promise to stop making women uncomfortable.
if joe or kamala get the nomination, will i be voting for them? hell yeah. trump has all these problems and MORE. but i’m hoping they won’t get the nomination.

Tell 'em Boots!
The rapper/director shares his thoughts on the film industry.
(AllHipHop News) Yesterday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the nominations for the 91st Academy Awards. Movies such as Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, and A Star Is Born were selected for the Best Picture category.
Some cinephiles were shocked to learn that Boots Riley's sci-fi/dramedy Sorry To Bother You was completely shut out. The Coup member took to Twitter to explain why he believes his directorial debut film didn't get recognized by the Academy.
Riley tweeted:
"There are tons of ppl making statements this morning about what Sorry To Bother You not getting nominated says about the Academy and the film industry that I think are misconceptions that may affect what kinds of movies filmmakers think are possible to get made. So I want to make a few things clear. I think that most of the film industry want to see something new and that there is a large percentage of the film industry that actually agrees with what I'm saying in STBY. Separate from that from my conversations and other people reporting their knowledge to me, there are a lot of people in the Academy who liked STBY a lot. Obviously, with any movie that takes chances there are also folks who hated it. That's to be expected. But the largest factor as to why we didn't get nominated is that we didn't actually run a campaign that aimed to get a nomination for Screenplay or Song. We didn't buy For Your Consideration ads in the trade magazines and we didn't service the whole academy with screeners. Without that, its perceived that you don't have a chance, or enough buzz. Academy members dont just vote for a thing they like if they think it doesn't have a chance. It's like that with most voting. That is not to say that we would have gotten a nomination if we had done that because at that point it becomes about which of the contenders they like the most- it's just that not doing that made it a self-fulfilling prophecy that we wouldn't get nominated. So I had no actual belief that we would get nominated. I just enjoy the parties, free drinks, & hanging out with really talented filmmakers that inspire me- many of them who got nominated. & the campaign that we did do- press runs, red carpet stuff- got a lot more ppl 2 see the movie. That's, 4 me, the big attraction to any film award"
Upon its wide theatrical release in July 2018, Sorry to Bother You gained positive feedback from professional film critics. The flick has a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 80/100 score on Metacritic.
Riley's artistic analysis of capitalism and race relations in America made $17 million at the domestic box office against a reported $3.2 million production budget. Sorry to Bother You stars Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Omari Hardwick, Terry Crews, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer, David Cross, Lily James, and Patton Oswalt.

If I'm being honest I didn't vote for Fake Love for SOTY. I voted for Shoot Out. It's not that I don't think Fake Love deserves to win, and I know it would mean the world to them, but honestly, it's not my favorite song of theirs. Plus, they're gonna win so many awards this year probably, and I think it'd be cool if Monsta X got some of that love too. It's really annoying when people parade around calling out fans and deciding by themselves that that person isn't worthy to be in a fan base.
So like I stated before, yes, vote for whoever you’d like! Its absolutely your right! But please try to vote for the song you really truly love! Not just because “theyre going to win so many awards anyways”. It makes it sound like charity. If you believe FL deserves that title, I mean vote for it, even if they will win many awards after it. All I’m saying is just try to keep your intentions pure! At the end of the day it’s whoever you wanna go for but just keep that in mind~ And yeah im really tired of people attacking others for being a “multi” or not streaming or not buying albums cause they can’t afford to. Since when do we care THIS deeply about #’s that we attack our own people...
anon said: Not surprised lol you can't say you like a song by another Korean artist bc some armys attack you saying that u're fake army or they tell you to listen to the song illegally or see their mv on vlive not to give them views bc you know, if you do this it's "stream" to them. So many dumb things... just enjoy the music.
Pretty much. Idk when this “pureblood” movement started but its only brought disgusting attitudes and a platform to ridicule anyone who doesnt follow b*s to the death. Like you said, enjoy the music!
anon said: I totally agree with you on your answer😤 i think some newer fans who have not been here since 2015 may find it difficult to understand that and that's sad
HNGGG i try not to separate “new” and “old” but it seems like a lot of new people who are unfamiliar with kpop have a deeprooted hatred for it or are embarrassed by it (or afraid of being made fun of for liking kpop) that they attack any group that isn’t them and try to strip them of part of their identity (aka kpop????)
anon said: liking songs have never been this complicated ;_____; if i dont like the song despite they're my fave group, i dont like it period. i can vote other song which probably deserves better recognition? jeez kpoppies need to go outside, take a deep breath and find new hobbies jshshs
forreal? like my song likes are no one else’s business. you dont see us trying to force them to change their likes? and yeah i don’t like EVERY single b*s song (aka i literally only have like 5 that i dont like of the hundreds they put out so thats fair lol). Vote for a song that deserves the title*** !! i swear some people just sit on their computers all day and spew hatred
anon said: I agree with everything you've been saying! people just need to think more rationally about voting. At the end of the day it's important, yes, but there's no need to guilt-trip fans for voting other than for the boys. I, personally, did not vote for them in every single category they were nominated in because I follow a lot of groups and their journeys. Sometimes it's nice to let other groups take the limelight! In saying that though if people feel they deserve all the votes then that's fine too
Yes exactly, the guilt-tripping needs to stop. These people are not allowed to control others. And thats totally fine! You follow groups and you know how hard theyve worked and you know their journey! but no no no, its not about “letting other groups have the spotlight” its about voting for the song or album or artist you believe truly fits the description of the award! Try to avoid pity votes~ you know in your heart who you believe deserves it!
anon said: There was a loonarmy alliance that lasted a day and then it was ended cause armys had sticks up their ass. "They're only benefiting from us." No Susan, didn't your mother teach you manners?
how come armys have no issue forming an alliance with western fandoms smaller than ours but when its a kpop fandom smaller than ours they are like FUCK YOU. It makes no sense, it circles back to them hating kpop lol. why cant people go a day without fighting, this isnt fuckin economics its about keeping the peace dammit
anon said: Love Scenario is gonna win SOTY anyways so y’all can keep fighting each other all you want, it don’t matter 😘
completely unneeded, you completely missed the point of this discourse, kindly fuck off. this is the crap that starts fights LOL
anon said: I'm gonna be completely honest here and say that there's no other song worthy of soty than love scenario. And I'm a Hard core army. Like, the way love scenario took sk by storm really isn't comparable to what fake love did. I love bts, I really really do, but I say love scenario was a nation fave, whereas fake love was really just an army fave. You don't have to agree obvs but that's just my humble onion
and that is your opinion, yes! but remember a lot of people will not think the same exact thing as you dear, that’s how life is~ so vote vote vote for what ya believe in and lets just see what happens ^-^

There will always be something else. Even the people who heavily edit, will look in the mirror and see something that's not that and if they are using editing to make improvements to their features and bodies, does it mean they are accepting of themselves? No. Even with the surgery. I posted about this before but I have a relative who, for unknown reasons, is on a mission to question literally every single thing we do for the wedding or otherwise make it known she not into it (despite being the one to bring it up in every conversation). I got great feedback to just bean dip her since the last time I wrote about it, but I haven seen her in person since so it hasn really been an issue. That is, until yesterday, when she let my mom know that "we" had a "conflict" for the wedding date a concert happening the same night. I agree with you. Why Republicans Are Wrong About Everything

Why Republicans Are Wrong About Everything
Tumblr media
Why So Many Republicans Cling To Trump
Saagar Enjeti: Trump, GOP, On Wrong Side Of EVERYTHING Since Coronavirus Began
Ben Shapiro got part of it right. A toxic mix of status anxiety, persecution fears, and echoes of the Civil War helps explain why they follow Trump into the abyss.
On September 17, 1862, over 10,000 Confederate soldiers were killed, wounded, or went missing in a single day at the Battle of Antietam. Very few of them came from slave-owning families, so why did they agree to give their lives in defense of human bondage?
I was reminded of this question when I noticed that Politico Playbook had recruited conservative celebrity and author Ben Shapiro;to explain why the vast majority of House Republicans voted not to impeach President Trump on Wednesday for sending a murderous mob after them on January 6. Politico was slammed by liberals for opening its best-known section to a conservative whos been charged with being bigoted and intolerant. But Shapiros explanation of the rallying around Trump during his final days wasnt totally off base. He was on to something about how Republicans see the world.
With Trump leaving office within a week, defending his incitement of an insurrection doesnt seem to be in the long-term self-interest of Republican officeholders.;But the Civil War example helps explain why people sometimes do very self-destructive things out of spite or insecurity.
White supremacy was such a consensus view at the time that Lincoln felt compelled to defend it.
Like the rebels at Antietam, no one wants to die for nothing.

Why Are Republicans So Mean
Let’s state right off-the-bat that conservatives indeed have much to offer. In fact, the very notion of conservatism itself keeps us grounded in tradition and prevents our society from spinning into the chaos of constant flux that would surely result if we were to impetuously pursue every new liberal idea to spring forth from our fertile minds. And conservatives admirably believe in America, established order, family, freedom, and success. This all sounds wonderful.
But when it comes to other people who happen to be different from the establishment, Republicans seem to be downright mean and nasty.
We are constantly reminded of the meanness of Republicans over and over again. One recent example is evident in the xenophobic remarks of the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, who recently referred to Mexican and other immigrants as rapists and murderers.
Basic common sense, however, tells us that human beings are not any more or less violent based upon where on a map they happened to have been born. And the evidence in studies bears this out as well by indicating that immigrants are no more likely to be violent than members of the overall population. Makes sense.
But Republicans seem to harbor some sort of a fear of foreigners and an aversion against other kinds of people who are not part of the established in-group. Their view seems to be that these other people are not like us, they pose a threat to us , and thus automatically they should be regarded as enemies.
There Arent Real Forces Within The Gop Leading Change
There is some appetite for change within the GOP. In those 2024 polls, at least a third of Republicans either were supporting a GOP presidential candidate other than Trump or were undecided.;
In YouGov Blues polling, only about 40 percent of Republicans identified themselves as Trump Republicans. A recent survey from Fabrizio, Lee and Associates, a GOP-leaning firm that worked on Trumps presidential campaigns, found that about 40 percent of Republican voters didnt want Trump to continue to be a leader in the party. Those numbers dont necessarily mean that those voters want the GOP to change drastically. But there is a substantial number of Trump-skeptical/ready-to-move-on-from-Trump Republican voters. But that sentiment isnt really showing up in the Republican Partys actions during the last three months basically everything GOP officials in states and in Washington are doing lines up with the Trumpian approach. So what gives?;

Reality Check : Biden Cant Be Fdr
Theres no question that Biden is swinging for the fences. Beyond the emerging bipartisan infrastructure bill, he has proposed a far-reaching series of programs that would collectively move the United States several steps closer to the kind of social democracy prevalent in most industrialized nations: free community college, big support for childcare and homebound seniors, a sharp increase in Medicaid, more people eligible for Medicare, a reinvigorated labor movement. It is why 100 days into the administration, NPR was asking a commonly heard question: Can Biden Join FDR and LBJ In The Democratic Party’s Pantheon?
But the FDR and LBJ examples show conclusively why visions of a transformational Biden agenda are so hard to turn into reality. In 1933, FDR had won a huge popular and electoral landslide, after which he had a three-to-one Democratic majority in the House and a 59-vote majority in the Senate. Similarly, LBJ in 1964 had won a massive popular and electoral vote landslide, along with a Senate with 69 Democrats and a House with 295. Last November, on the other hand, only 42,000 votes in three key states kept Trump from winning re-election. Democrats losses in the House whittled their margin down to mid-single digits. The Senate is 50-50.
Most Republicans Said That President Obama Should Be Impeached Because Of The 2012 Attack On The Us Consulate In Benghazi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their own investigations, however, proved them wrong. Every Congressional inquiry, including those by the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee, concluded that the Obama administration did nothing wrong regarding Benghazi, that there was no stand down order given, and that neither the President nor anyone in his administration lied about it. Each and every Republican investigation has reached this same conclusion, but Republicans continue to exploit this tragedy for political gain.

Nominating Mitt Romney For President
Despite the failure to grab the Senate, the GOP was still riding strong anti-Obamacare sentiment and voter frustration over the slow recovery from the Great Recession. Much of this was fueled by the Tea Party movement, which added a rare Republican grassroots element to the GOP.
When you think about it now, all of that made former Mitt Romney an extremely odd choice for the Republican nomination for president in 2012. He embodied the establishment GOP in almost every way. Romney had years as a hedge fund manager at Bain Capital on his resume at a time when most Americans were still blaming Wall Street for the nation’s economic woes. Worst of all, his universal health coverage plan enacted while he was governor of Massachusetts looked eerily like Obamacare. In fact, “Romneycare” was seen as one of the models the crafters of the Affordable Care Act used when they wrote the law. If the GOP wanted to put up a candidate who invigorated its anti-Obamacare and increasingly anti-establishment base, they couldn’t have missed the mark much more than they did with Mitt Romney.
Bidens Bill Is More Popular
We live in the middle of an era of tremendous polarization, yet Joe Bidens American Rescue Plan is shockingly popular. Its one of the most popular, least polarizing pieces of legislation in recent memory. According to a recent Politico/Morning Consultpoll, 76 percent of voters support Bidens plan, including a majority of Republicans.
Its worth noting that most polls show that 70 percent or so of Republicans believe Joe Biden is an illegitimate president. Therefore, a large segment of people who think Biden stole the election also supports his COVID and economic recovery plans.
Obamas Recovery Act was never this popular. A January 2009 Gallup poll found that the public favored Obamas plan 52 percent to 38 percent.
These are good numbers but nowhere near the sky-high popularity of the Biden plan. At the time of this poll, Obamas approval rating was hovering around 70 percent. Bidens plan is more popular than he is Bidens job approval is 52.8 per FiveThirtyEight. That disparity is evidence of Bidens COVID plan’s political durability and the dangerous game Republicans are playing by opposing it. People who dont like Biden but like his plan are the exact people who the Republicans need to win over to take back Congress.

Times Republicans Were Wrong
It’s no secret that politicians tend to use exaggerated political rhetoric to get people to vote for them. In recent decades, Republicans have repeatedly made very ominous predictions about the horrors that will result from Democratic policies while painting a rosy picture of what will result from Republican policies. Now we have the luxury of looking back over the years to examine those predictions and policies. Below, you will find twenty-one examples of times Republicans were blatantly wrong.
Taking The Perspective Of Others Proved To Be Really Hard
Why both Democrats and Republicans are wrong on inflation
The divide in the United States is wide, and one indication of that is how difficult our question proved for many thoughtful citizens. A 77-year-old Republican woman from Pennsylvania was typical of the voters who struggled with this question, telling us, This is really hard for me to even try to think like a devilcrat!, I am sorry but I in all honesty cannot answer this question. I cannot even wrap my mind around any reason they would be good for this country.
Similarly, a 53-year-old Republican from Virginia said, I honestly cannot even pretend to be a Democrat and try to come up with anything positive at all, but, I guess they would vote Democrat because they are illegal immigrants and they are promised many benefits to voting for that party. Also, just to follow what others are doing. And third would be just because they hate Trump so much. The picture she paints of the typical Democratic voter being an immigrant, who goes along with their party or simply hates Trump will seem like a strange caricature to most Democratic voters. But her answer seems to lack the animus of many.;;
Democrats struggled just as much as Republicans. A 33-year-old woman from California told said, i really am going to have a hard time doing this but then offered that Republicans are morally right as in values, going to protect us from terrorest and immigrants, going to create jobs.
Don’t Miss: What Color Ties Do Republicans Wear
Reality Check #: The Electoral College And The Senate Are Profoundly Undemocraticand Were Stuck With Them
Because the Constitution set up a state-by-state system for picking presidents, the massive Democratic majorities we now see in California and New York often mislead us about the partys national electoral prospects. In 2016, Hillary Clintons 3-million-vote plurality came entirely from California. In 2020, Bidens 7-million-vote edge came entirely from California and New York. These are largely what election experts call wasted votesDemocratic votes that dont, ultimately, help the Democrat to win. That imbalance explains why Trump won the Electoral College in 2016 and came within a handful of votes in three states from doing the same last November, despite his decisive popular-vote losses.
The response from aggrieved Democrats? Abolish the Electoral College! In practice, theyd need to get two-thirds of the House and Senate, and three-fourths of the state legislatures, to ditch the process that gives Republicans their only plausible chance these days to win the White House. Shortly after the 2016 election, Gallup found that Republican support for abolishing the electoral college had dropped to 19 percent. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, a state-by-state scheme to effectively abolish the Electoral College without changing the Constitution, hasnt seen support from a single red or purple state.
Surrendering Before The Battle
The midterm elections of 2014 gave the Republicans control of the Senate that they should have won in 2010. But even before the new members took their oaths of office, then-Senate Majority Leader-elect Mitch McConnell promised never to trigger a government shutdown. That effectively took the sharpest arrow out of the GOP’s congressional quiver, and again relieved the greatest pressure the Republicans could have exercised against Obama.
Don’t Miss: Did Donald Trump Say Republicans Are The Dumbest Group Of Voters
Unified Republican Opposition To Obama’s Policies Helped Them Retake Congress In 2010 Here’s Why It May Not Work Again
When the House of Representatives passed President Bidens COVID-relief plan last weekend, every single Republican voted against it. Earlier this week, Senator John Thune, Mitch McConnells deputy, predicted that every Republican Senator would vote against the Biden plan. Thunes reasoning was typically cynical. He said the Republicans wanted to:
make the Democrats own a piece of legislation that I think is going to have long-term adverse consequences.
This was the latest example of Republicans saying the quiet part out loud. Thune is admitting they are making a bet that the Biden plan wont work, and Republicans can reap the political rewards of a sub-standard economy in 2022. This is the same bet the Republicans made in 2009 when they decided to oppose Barack Obamas efforts to address the financial crisis.
Politically, the 2009 bet paid off. The Republicans rode a wave of economic discontent to control of the House and a massive set of wins down-ballot that would impact politics for more than a decade. But just because it worked then doesnt mean it will work now. The Republicans may be making a massive miscalculation by re-fighting the last war.
Republicans Said President Obama Would Raise Taxes Sky High
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It never happened. Income taxes for over 95% of Americans remained the same or lower than they were before Obama was elected. The only people whose income taxes increased were those who make more than $400,000 per year, and their taxes rose only 3%. For most Americans, taxes are still lower now than they were under Reagan.

Blowing The Midterm Elections
The 2008 elections gave Barack Obama a clear win in the presidential election and the Democrats a filibuster-proof supermajority in Congress. They proceeded to spend that political capital almost entirely on passing Obamacare in a lengthy process that included a number of unusual compromises with their own party members, like the “Cornhusker Kickback” and controversial legislative tricks like the “deemed as passed” maneuver. All of this took place even as the Affordable Care Act failed to gain majority support in the polls.
That set the stage for a strong Republican advantage going into the 2010 midterm elections. On paper, the GOP did score a resounding victory, picking up 63 seats in the House of Representatives and a net gain of six seats in the Senate.
But Republicans blew a solid chance to retake the Senate. They put up weak candidates in several winnable races. They included Sharon Angle in Nevada, who was seen as too radical and managed to lose to then-incumbent Harry Reid despite his very weak approval ratings in his home state. Arch-abortion opponent Ken Buck won the GOP nomination in Colorado, . The biggest mistake of all was Christine O’Donnell in Delaware. O’Donnell lost after she became infamous for her revelation that she had once experimented with witchcraft.
As a result, the Democrats kept control of the Senate and the Republicans lost a chance to force Obama into what could have been a series of advantageous compromises over the next six years.
The Gop Is A Grave Threat To American Democracy
Unless and until Republicans summon the wit and the will to salvage the party, ruin will follow.

The hope of many conservative critics of Donald Trump was that soon after his defeat, and especially in the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection, the Republican Party would snap back into its former shape. The Trump presidency would end up being no more than an ugly parenthesis. The GOP would distance itself from Trump and Trumpism, and become a normal party once again.
But that dream soon died. The Trump presidency might have been the first act in a longer and even darker political drama, in which the Republican Party is becoming more radicalized. How long this will last is an open question; whether it is happening is not.
To better grasp whats happening among 2020 Trump voters, I spoke with Sarah Longwell, a lifelong conservative and political strategist who is now the publisher of The Bulwark, a news and opinion website that is home to anti-Trump conservatives. She is also the founder of Republican Voters Against Trump, now the Republican Accountability Project.

Prior To Going To War In Iraq Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld Optimistically Predicted The Iraq War Might Last Six Days Six Weeks I Doubt Six Months
What’s more, Vice-President Dick Cheney said we would be greeted as liberators by the Iraqi people after we overthrow Saddam.
They were both horribly wrong. Instead of six weeks or six months, the Iraq war lasted eight long and bloody years costing thousands of American lives. It led to an Iraqi civil war between the Sunnis and the Shiites that took hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. Many Iraqi militia groups were formed to fight against the U.S. forces that occupied Iraq. Whats more, Al Qaeda, which did not exist in Iraq before the war, used the turmoil in Iraq to establish a new foothold in that country.
The Iraq war was arguably the most tragic foreign policy blunder in US history.

Why Do Republicans Wear Blue Ties
How Did The 2000 Election Solidify Red For Republican And Blue For Democrat
How To Combine & Wear A Pocket Square With Ties, Shirts & Suits
The 2000 election between Gore and Bush was a momentous event for American politics. The election became a constitutional crisis and dragged on for 36 days, leading to constant television and newspaper coverage of recounts and debates over which candidate won each swing state. Networks banded together on their color selection for each party for the purposes of uniformity, choosing red to represent states Bush won, and blue for those Gore won.
It was also during this election that the New York Times and USA Today ran their first full-color electoral state maps featuring red for Republican and blue for Democrat.;
Do you know where the Democrat and Republican Parties got their names? Find out here.;
But why these particular colors? Thats a difficult question to answer because all news stations want to take credit for what is now the standard.
The credit of the colors rests in part with New York Times graphics editor Archie Tse, who used red for Republicans in 2000 election maps because red begins with R, Republican begins with R. Whatever the reason, all of the news outlets certainly played a part in establishing blue and red as the colors when they collectively used them the same way.
What Does Your Tie Color Mean
Get the girl.
What do these three things have in common?; The right image.
We all know that first impressions can be influenced by what you wear.; Whether conscious or not, people make grandiose assumptions based upon your everyday appearance.
A tie is one of the most influential tools at your disposal.; Thats why you always reach for your lucky tie when you are about to close a deal or why the girl at happy hour playfully touches your tie to show shes interested.; Your tie makes a powerful statement and its important to know what image you are projecting.
Its called the power tie for a reason, and by wearing a red tie you are implying that you mean business.; Just like Tiger Woods wears a red shirt to convey dominance, the red tie is a reaffirmation of strength, authority and dominance within the professional world.; For a less aggressive approach, switch out your vibrant red for a softer shade of burgundy.
Yellow/Gold
Yellow is the approachable cousin of the power tie.; While still conveying authority, intelligence and positivity, yellow is the subtle version of a red power tie.; This is the perfect tie to wear for a first interview, because it shows you are confident and not afraid of a challenge.
Blue
Green
Orange
Orange is the wild card of tie colors.; A bright orange tie will imply that you are enthusiastic, open-minded and adventurous.; It is the perfect tie for making a memorable first impression and creating a sense of excitement within the workplace.

;The default color scheme for presidential ties is so conservative that it is nearly impossible to imagine something like pistachio, fuchsia or neon-anything ever making the cut. Sometimes, of course, being an outlier can help secure the needed benefit of the doubt. Bob Dole wore a moderate-green tie to his 1996 debate against the incumbent Bill Clinton. Such a choice helped create an overall image that pundits found informed, thoughtful, and elevated. It briefly albeit unsuccessfully buoyed Doles campaign. Hillary Clinton did not wear ties during her runs for the presidency. Still, her accessories were scrutinized by the media with particular focus on , bracelets, and headbands. Alternately, when democratic primary candidate Andrew Yang showed up to a 2019 Democratic Primary debate with no tie at all, his historic bold move turned heads across the political spectrum from Fox News to the New Yorker. Ultimately, it was a minor side note in what cost him the nomination proving that the country is just not ready for a tie-less president.

The Partys Core Activists Dont Want To Shift Gears
This is the simplest and most obvious explanation: The GOP isnt changing directions because the people driving the car dont want to.;
When we think of Republicans, we tend to think of either rank-and-file GOP voters or the partys highest-profile elected officials, particularly its leaders in Congress. But in many ways, the partys direction is driven by a group between those two: conservative organizations like Club for Growth and the Heritage Foundation, GOP officials at the local and state level and right-wing media outlets. That segment of the party has been especially resistant to the GOP abandoning its current mix of tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, opposition to expansions of programs that benefit the poor and an identity politics that centers white Americans and conservative Christians.
You could see the power and preferences of this group in the response to the Capitol insurrection.
In the days immediately following Jan. 6, many GOP elected officials, most notably McConnell, signaled that the party should make a permanent break from Trump. Pollsfound an increased number of rank-and-file GOP voters were dissatisfied with the outgoing president. But by the time the Senate held its trial over Trumps actions a month later, it was clear that the party was basically back in line with Trump.;

When Defeated Politicians Feel Blue They Wear It
He was feeling blue.;
There he stood, front and center in his home state,;cloaked in failure. Sad Senator Marco Rubio addressed the crowd Tuesday:
“While it is not God’s plan that I be president in 2016 or maybe ever, and while today my campaign is suspended…we must do all we can to ensure that this nation remains a special place.”
He certainly wore his heart on his sleeve well, in this case, his tie. It was dark blue.
Following in the footsteps of Jeb Bush, who sported a silk navy tie, and Ben Carson, who wore a powder blue striped shirt at their respective concessions, Rubio, too, wore the color.;
And it wasn’t by coincidence. Premeditated or subconscious, blue is the color when you’re feeling the shade.;
“Wearing a blue tie is the right choice for conceding in an election,” said Lauren Rothman, a Washington, D.C.-based political stylist, consultant and author of the Style Bible.
“The color communicates two emotions at the same time: optimism and sadness.”
Rothman,;who’s dressed many a politician for their concession speeches,;said that blue sends the message for supporters to continue following them on to their next chapters and that they have officially had a standstill.;
“There’s a sense of calmness to it and comfort as if showing that it’s okay, it’s going to be all right,” she said.
Lee Eiseman, a color specialist and expert, agreed.;
But Eiseman did clarify that there are different signifiers of blue depending on the hue.;

How The Colors Came To Be Red White And Blue
Of the 205 sovereign nations in the world, 21 share red, white and blue as their flags colors. But why do so many share the same trio of colors, and what do they represent?
On July 4, 1776, a resolution was passed by Congress authorizing the development of a seal for the new country which reflected the Founding Fathers values.
When presenting the seal which was officially adopted on June 20, 1782 Secretary of the Continental Congress, Charles Thomson, explained, White signifies purity and innocence. Red, hardiness and valor, and blue signifies vigilance, perseverance and justice.
The meaning behind the colors have since shifted slightly. In 1986, President Ronald Reagan declared it the Year of the Flag, stating, The colors of our flag signify the qualities of the human spirit we Americans cherish. Red for courage and readiness to sacrifice; white for pure intentions and high ideals; and blue for vigilance and justice.
According to TIME Magazine, however, Mike Buss, a flag expert with the American Legion, points to the red, white and blue used in the Union Jack of England.
They come from the three colors that the Founding Fathers had served under or had been exposed to, said Buss.
Therefore, some of the correlation between the United States use of red, white and blue along with 20 other countries, including Puerto Rico, Australia and Cuba, could come from their historical correlation with England.
Why Politicians Wear Only Red And Blue Ties
Why does Trump Scotch tape his tie?
Joe Dziemianowicz of the Daily News wrote that even though President Obama doesnt like to reduce America into a collection of red states and blue states, he wore only red and blue neckties in his first 11 days in office. Is that just a coincidence?
Not according to science Robert Roy Britt of LiveScience explains why in high-stakes politics and business, there are only two color of ties, red and blue:

What Do The State Of The Unions Purple Ties Mean
Whats in a tie? If youre President Obama giving the State of the Union address, it can mean quite a bit. Tonight, Obama, along with Vice-President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House John Boehner, made a sartorial show of solidarity. The three leaders sported purple ties because as every first-grade student knows blue and red make purple, and it may be a visual signifier of Obamas desire for bi-partisan cooperation. This isnt the first time Obama and Biden have rocked the royal hue: The pair, along with thenSpeaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, all wore purple during the 2010 State of the Union. And then, as now, pundits speculated about its meaning. There is kind of a connotation in politics that comes through color, said fashion blogger Mary Tomer, of last years tie choices. I dont think its too much of a stretch to think purple couldve been chosen;symbolically.
Has Trump Been Wearing A Purple Tie More Often Lately
The last couple of weeks Ive noticed him wearing a purple tie.
Do Republicans notice this? Care?
Does it mean anything?
Why would it matter even if he was? Its a goddamn tie. You people love imagining bullshit where it doesnt exist.
Saying you people is almost always a derogatory remark. If you dont like the OPs question, address your answer to her.
Im with . Look around at other threads. Assumptions made on behalf of Trump supporters, and even supposing to know what our president plans, knows, wants, likes. Until Trump opposers are willing to stop lumping us in a pit of lost causes, expect the same in return.
, I have had the same observation, so perhaps he has. Does it have any significance? I believe only time will tell.
I think that if he is in fact wearing purple, he is doing it to reflect the electorate and its attitudes as the American population slowly moves to embrace the democratic party.
Are the colors of his tie supposed to mean anything? And WHY do Trump supporters get all bent out of shape and when thinking Trump opposers lump them in all together, but do the exact same thing when it comes to dealing with opposers?
So he bought a new tie. He wore the red one for almost three years, and he cant ever seem to tie it right. Glad he got a new one.
I think its some kind of white power salute.
Disclaimer: The above statement is a joke.
Which you people? and I?

Which States Are Considered Red And Which Are Blue
To go along with the colors, the terms red state and blue state were popularized by anchorman Tim Russert during and immediately after the 2000 election. Today, these terms are used to refer to which party a state voted for during a presidential election.;
Generally speaking, the Northeast and the West Coast are considered a collection of blue states as most of them have sided with the Democrats since the early 1990s.
The Southern states have sided with Republicans since the 2000s, while the Midwest tends to be tougher to predict. For example, Illinois and Minnesota are currently considered blue states, while Missouri and Nebraska are red. Hawaii and Alaska have been traditionally considered blue and red respectively as neither has switched parties since the late 1980s .
The Southwest has been split since 2000 with Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado going blue more often than red and Utah and Arizona voting predictably red. Finally, we come to the coveted purple states or swing states,;such as Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan. These states switched colors in recent elections and are often a key focus of electoral campaigning and strategy. Swing states can vary by election year.
Color And Clothing Choices
Tumblr media
When we see certain colors, they produce chemical reactions in our brains that can make us feel certain emotions. For example you are more likely to order more food in a restaurant that is decorated with a lot of red because that color makes us hungry. Sports teams often paint the opposing teams locker room pink because that color makes people tired. Guests on late night TV hang out in the Green Room before coming on stage because that color is the most calming and relaxing. So what could certain candidates be trying to sell you via their color and clothing choices?

When Its Time To Head Back To The Office And On The Few Days When I Wear A Suit And Tie I Should Retire My Red Ties Right Unless I Want Everyone To Assume I Am A Trump Supporter Is It Possible For Any Man To Wear A Red Tie Now And Not Immediately Call To Mind The Former President Ken Newton Mass
Though the death of the tie is declared regularly especially given the pressures of both the long-term office-casual movement and our current working-from-home reality Guy Trebay, our mens wear critic, maintains that you should not count the accessory out quite yet. As he said, even if were not wearing them much during lockdown, you dont want to give up on an element of the wardrobe thats been around for 400 years.
Ties can, after all, be used to signal your club, your interests, whether you are a jokester, a brainiac or even a clown. Not to mention, as you say, political affiliation.
The question is whether the party dividing line between red and blue that has swept even the necktie into its maw will remain uppermost in everyones minds now that unity is the word of the moment . Given how central red ties were to President Trumps uniform, it is natural to think that we may now have a Pavlovian response to the color. But the fact is, red ties were a wardrobe staple long before Mr. Trump got hold of them.
Its the combination of shade and style that makes the statement of allegiance, not simply one or the other. Thats what you should keep in mind when getting dressed. Then go ahead: Tie one on.

The thing is tho is that that’s how the industry works. Like ok no but grammys is a shit show in general like they pick industry favs or just don’t pick ppl that deserve it? Idk like i think bts deserved at least a nom for best new artists at some point in their career. But that’s how the industry works? the only way to quantify is through sales and charts bc music is subjective like Inrespevt you don’t like the album...but a lot of ppl many not even army did they loved it! And I don’t think it’s purely bc of their fans bc then why do other big artists who also have similar fan base sizes not get the same sales? Idk cause of it was based off of musical content their old stuff would be nominated but that wasn’t even in korean award shows so let’s be real ppl win bc of sales and charting
Like i’m not tryna insult you omg! You can hav stour opinion about the album and it’s very valid! Like for example i don’t really like any of their LY era albums except for tear. Or with bp I don’t like their new album. That doesn’t mean it’s bad bc music is subjective i’m just tryna say bc of that unless you have industry officials voting who are objevtibely analyzing music which the grammys claim it’s based on sales. BUT with the grammys they have other issues like they had. a voting scandal, they snub rock artists, artists of color and there’s a lotta shit that goes on behind the scenes not that bts is part of that i highly doubt they are. But yeah grammys in general are bs
u didnt insult me omg i agree with you! i think that you’re right that music is subjective so you can’t say whats good or bad but i think people who work in the music industry (especially critics) should be able to tell if something is weak or strong and imo mots7 was weak bcs it felt more like an motsp 2.0 which in itself was an lya 2.0 (im talking in terms of lyrics + melody + overall topic of the album)
i just dont think bts should be nominated for aoty also bcs i really dont want them to think that their next album should be a mots7 2.0 lol but i definitely agree that they should’ve gotten a nominee for best new artist in 2018!!
also i think its harder to discuss sales w bts bcs 1 not a lot of artists have the same amount of fans who are invested enough to spend money on albums, 2 kpop and western sales are hard to compare bcs 99% of fans of western artists dont care as much abt sales as kpoppies lol 3 an award shows about sales in okay if they’re advertised as such and the grammys is not
but yeah the grammys are shit omg as a red and rep stan i hate the grammys so much

EPISODE 6 - “I can finally sleep with both eyes closed tonight.” - FROSBY .
.
.
DESIREE
Daily Thoughts for Day 21:
Eviction: As expected, Mandi was voted out with a strong majority. It was a shame to see her go, but she really was super quiet in the house and it was a good idea to separate the family before jury.
Announcements: We made it to jury!! I'm so excited!! I will officially have a part in the outcome of finale night. That's pretty cool. We also heard about this Before the Beginning twist, which is pretty interesting. I think the lack of talking in the house won't be too bad because things can be communicated in DMs, it's just a bit more annoying. The not knowing who is winning each thing and what the votes counts are...that's a bit more interesting. This will be quite a week.... The pre-jury twist sounds fun! I have no idea what it will be, but I like the idea.
Plans: If somehow Frosby or I won HOH, we could take out Austin and do it without anyone finding out. The most ideal way this week could go is, Frosby or I win HOH, the other one gets the power to see the HOH, Austin gets backdoored and no one knows who did it…
DESIREE
Daily Thoughts for Day 22:
Link Hunt: I am guessing a million things and haven't found a link... I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or if I'm just dumb, but man this is super frustrating. I want the HOH power!!!
Victory!!: Uhm...y'all...I FUCKING DID THAT SHIT!!!! I am sooo excited right now. I would really love to get out Austin this week, he is a big target and I really do not trust him... Lukas is obviously a big target as well, but I trust him a bit more so he is not my priority. Either one would be a good move, though. I told Frosby I won HOH, but that's it. I fully trust him to keep my secret. Drew also messaged me and told me he got the HOH power, so he knows I won. That puts a bit of a wrench in my plans, because Drew and Austin are close, but I'm not going to let that stop me from taking out a huge target. I don't think anyone can blame me for that (even though I'm sure they would). Drew swears he will keep my secret, but I'm preparing for that to go out the window when I put up Austin. Drew told me he is fine with anyone going up, but I don't think he really means that.
FROSBY
Well a lot has happened in the game and yet another one of my allies has fallen to the majority alliance. This time I was the one inside that majority alliance. I only joined the alliance alongside Desiree so we would be in the biggest group of players in the game, but to also know what our enemies were planning. Turns out Brooke made the alliance to tell a large group of people that Mandi and Joe were siblings and because of this Mandi was the next one to go. Thankfully it wasn't Katrina that went because that would have been terrible.
Anyways we have finished up the next challenge and Desiree ended up winning it! Finally someone who isn't my enemy in this game won HoH, I can finally sleep with both eyes closed tonight. Anyways me and Desiree have been talking and we agree that putting up Lukas v. Joe is the play. The chances of either of those 2 winning so we can backdoor Austin would be fantastic and a perfect part to the plan. Now the thing is Desiree doesn't want me to speak a word to anyone that she won HoH and that I am doing, but while talking to Joe I realized he thinks Brooke is trying to blindside him. I let him know that this was in fact true info and it was that giant alliance that Brooke created that she is using to get the blindside going.
So anyways I wanted to strengthen my relationship with Joe so I called him on the DMs last night, and wanted to let him know where he was at in the game. I let him know about this giant alliance and how i'm a rat on the inside and I'm doing what I can to twist the alliance whichever way doesn't hurt Joe, Desiree or Katrina. I also let him know that he will be put up this week but he isn't the target. I let him know that the main target is Austin and the fact that we are putting up Lukas and Joe is to make sure they win the Power of Veto.
Lets hope this plan works and Joe doesn't get voted out, that would be no bueno
DREW
So continuing my diary room rewind... we're talking about Week 5 and now that its been a few days to really digest my thoughts... here's another round of Drew Dishes.
Lukas wins his third HoH, and I'm just shocked. I really am. I really didn't think that it was possible but here we are... with the results being posted that Lukas winning once again. But that's not the more "whoopdeedo" moment of the week. it was the big reveal that Mandi and Joe are siblings.
And I had already known the week prior because Brooke literally told Austin who told me. And I'm just sitting here and absorbing the damn tea. Like spill it for me, spill it! I love the tea and I will love to get any and all advantage in this game as much as possible.
So that happens and Joe wins the veto. Because we need a third comp beast coming into this game. And my veto chip is like.. missing. like- i swear i can't compete in a fucking veto to save my life. But he wins the veto and he's removing himself and leaving Mandi on the block, which absolutely sucks because I truly love Mandi with my absolute heart.
Like what kind of a mother has a full time job, two children and can be social with everyone and still be so personable? Like HELLLO!! She has to be Wonder Woman in disguise somehow because this game is taking everything out of me just to talk to the same people over and over- so for Mandi to just up and give up against Katrina... sucks. Truly it does. But my connection with Katrina blossomed even more because Mandi straight up ghosted me- and I don't need that in a game for the win tbh :/
So that's it for the rewind. Not much to say because this is all... boring to be fairly honest. Hopefully the Week 6 rewind will be much more juicy!
SAMMY
https://youtu.be/oXbpcm36TvM
JOE
Terrible week, although I have successfully avoided the block. At, the cost of my allies. I would love to be able to keep Des this week, but I don't know how possible that is. Brooke is still the worst, I love Drew, and frosby is my boy.
DREW
I think we are in the Week 6 rewind? I honestly don't remember. But DARK WEEK... what the fuck is this twist? I honestly don't know how this mess of a week LMAOOOO but whatever it is- this is the perfect time to get a threat out. Meaning, I'm looking at Austin, Lukas or Joe. Because they're major competition threats.
And would you look at that! I lose yet another HoH, but that's not a problem because I won the Afterglow Advantage which allows me to know who is the HoH and allows me to speak with them and hopefully get my footing into NOT being nominated- and I honestly was so surprised to see Desiree up in that HoH Suite.
But like the nice lady was down to chat with me, and I promised her that I wasn't gonna tell anyone- but I told two people, Lukas and Sammy, that I have this power. But I didn't tell them that Desiree was the HoH until like.. an hour after the results. Which violates my trust with her like immediately, but solidifies my position with Lukas and Sammy even more.
But with Desiree, she gave me the option to throw out a few ideas, and I said that I'm fine with anyone going up as long as it wasn't me. Preferably, one of the three competition beasts- and she agreed. And the week started off with Joe and Lukas on the block, with Austin has a backdoor. I'm ecstatic at that result because both Joe and Lukas trust me enough to let them think that I will use the veto on them, and mawma- that's the best position for me to be in.
And the veto- lemme get to that... I FINALLY GOT TO PLAY A DAMN VETO! The damn veto box decided to spit out my chip for the damn first time! And it was a memory comp, which is something that I am GREAT at... but I only score 11 points. Which is an F in terms of academic grading... like what? I'm better than this! But like Lukas tells me that he wins, so that I'm okay with that. Let this private win expand his target on his back a little more- I won't complain. And who goes up in his place? Austin. Which is also fine by me. I was always planning to stab him in the back one the jury started anyway.
In order for me to win, I needed to start lacing that jury house with my allies- and I didn't know how much Austin trusted me considering that I made most of his moves during his HoH reign, but I need a good word for those people like Frosby, Brooke and Kayla when they inevitably join the Jury House.
So just like the good little villainous strategist that I am- I immediately start working on getting Sammy, Chloe and Lukas to vote out Austin. Katrina can't vote. Frosby is immediately a vote for Joe to stay, and Brooke and Kayla? Let the evict Joe and look like boo boo the fool. They really voted in the minority if that was the case cause the vote ended in a 5-2 if everything on my end was correct.
And I think that concludes this shitty twist- cause I'm over it. This rewind, I was dreading to relive because it was four days of pure torture and hell. Like, 2 of those 4 days- i had to be on CALL with Brooke and Joe for 5+ hours. 5 PLUS HOURS. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH ALCOHOL COULD HAVE BEEN FLOWING IN MY BLOODSTREAM DURING THAT TIME? MANY!! MANY PINTS OF ALCOHOL!! I'm just glad that Joe trusts me more now that he's in the game a little longer and I need to start switching my focus on evicting Sammy/Lukas/Brooke/Joe. Once that is complete- I will assume the winner title!
FROSBY
This is by far the worst eviction pairing PERIOD. Desiree v. Katrina my top 2 closest allies put up on the block against each other. This is actually the worst for me. Like I have no good solutions, I dont want to argue for either of them because the way the vote sounds right now it could go either way. So I don't want to go to people and be like hey vote desiree out, because if desiree survives the vote then im royally fucked with my best ally. But on the other hand I can't be telling people not to vote desiree bc my true goal is to get Katrina to go through with me. The problem is I cant go out an campaign for Katrina because of Joe and Desiree. If I do that then I will lose both of those allies and then I will legit be sitting on the outside of the game, with no allies at all. I even was in a call last night and was talking to desiree and joe and honestly I love both of them and want to keep working with them. I'll put it simple if Katrina goes its not the end of the world I will still have 2 strong allies that both will have bigger targets on their back than me.  While on the other hand Katrina is my sister and we made a final 2 pact that I know for a fact we both want to hold onto so if Katrina can somehow live through this vote not only do we keep that final 2 pact but the fact we are siblings and secretly allies this whole time can continue working in our favor. The key is I need Lukas, Joe, myself or Katrina/Desiree to win this next HoH really bad. Every eviction has been slowly picking off my close allies 1 after the other, the only eviction that went in my favor was austin going home. I need another HoH in my favor or else this game is going to get even harder for me.
JOE
Well, brooke was evicted and i was ecstatic. Her going was probably best for my game at this point. The double hits and I really did not want to see frosby go. He was basically my number 1 at this point. I tried to use my pre-jury power to save his ass but it was all in vain. I have hopefully secured a final three deal with Drew and Lukas. Only problem is that Drew doesn't trust Lukas all that much. Overall, I've had a good past few cycles and I hope to keep up this streak of not dying.
DREW
Alright another Drew Dishes entry. And this week- we're going to review Cycle 7... and let me tell you... it was something that I dislike.
The week was just pure distaste for me because Brooke wins HoH... the one person that I wanted to get rid of this week has to be pushed back a cycle cause that bitch gets the one power that essentially lets her call all of the shots. And yours truly is on the block because I don't talk to her... wait what?
Is this bitch for real? LIKE Chloe, Katrina and Kayla are RIGHT there. If you wanted a pawn to go up against Desiree... you put one of them up. Not give a reason towards a vindictive bitch to nominate you the next time he gets HoH... like you clearly did not play this game correctly!
So then, Desiree and I or D&D in what I nicknamed it... are on the block and Sammy and Katrina are picked for the veto- two people that I trust alot in this game. Obviously aside from Chloe and Lukas, and its a puzzle punishment veto. I love this comp because I'm excellent at puzzles! I ADORE PUZZLES! Anyway, the way that this veto worked out for me because I ended up 2nd place and Sammy gets 1st. Obviously he takes the veto, but the prize that I end up with is $10 from the hostie toasties. Which is AMAZING!! Like free money?!? Unheard of!
AND that's not the best part. Sammy reveals his cards and plays the veto on me, meaning that it shows that he and I are close this game. Im off the block, I get $10 and all 4 of us in They Suck The Most get to dictate who leaves.. and we selected Desiree to save face with Brooke. Which is sad, but like... eh. No harm done with us.
