A little secret

Hi so this fic is based on a request. I changed it up a bit and in the end it ended up being a lot longer than i planned but here we are. As i said before english is not my first language but if you see any mistakes or things i should improve on pls tell me (but be kind). Enjoy!

Also everything that is in italics indicates that its being said in Spanish, since i dont speak Spanish nor do i trust google translate i figured this would be the best option.

“Lucy come on we are going to be late” Ona groaned.

“We still have time, and I want to kiss you” Lucy murmured against her lips. “Besides I’m won’t be able to even touch you when we get there, let me have this.” She said as her lips began going down Ona’s neck.

“You are so needy I hope you know that. But we have to go.” Giving Lucy one last kiss the brunette left her girlfriends arms to get her bag and get going. “Come on Luce today is the Clasico Ale will have our head if we are even a minute late, and we can’t get there in the same car you know this.”

“I know, I know.” Lucy grumbled “I just wanted one last moment before the game. We are coming back to mine after the game and getting take out right?”

“Yup, now come on move your but we have to go.”

When Lucy came into the changing room 3 minutes after Ona, she saw that almost everyone was already there. She said hi to the girls and silently went to her cubby to put on her shoes and kit. Just as she was finishing tying up her laces Mapi came roaring thru the door.

“HOLA CHICAS!!!! Is everyone ready for the Clasico.”

“We are ready Maps you can calm down.” Ona chuckled from her side of the room.

“Oh oh oh look who it is, well you look less nervous now then for your last Clasico don’t you Onita” Mapi said as Ona blushed and the rest of the room began to chuckle.

“Oh leave her alone Mapi, of course she would be nervous for her first Clasico don’t act like you weren’t. Alexia told me all about it.” Lucy chuckled

“I… ALEXIA!! Why the hell would you tell that to Lucy .“ Alexia just singed as Mapi hit her on the head.

“Mapi calm down, you were there when we told her that story. And Lucy since when do you defend Ona.” Alexia now had a smirk on her face as she looked at Lucy whit her brow raised.

“What, now I can’t even defend others Ale seriously.”

“You can sure you can it’s just that you’ve never done it. Well anyway let’s get ready ladies the game is starting soon and I need you all at 110 % alright. Let’s win this classico.”

And whit the whole team excited and shouting they went outside.

…

They were wining, it was half time and they were already up 4 – 0. But whit Barcelona winning Madrid seemed to get more and more reckless.

“Ok girls gather up” Alexia shouted since the break was coming to an end. “They are getting more aggressive and I don’t want anyone to get hurt today so be careful please. Ona, I don’t know if I’m imagining things but they seem to be targeting you specifically.”

“Yea I don’t know what’s up with that. Every time I get the ball it seems like number 21 wants to knock me off my feet.”

“Ok Ona be extra careful please. But otherwise, we are doing great girls keep it up. I think we can score at least 3 more goals yea.”

Ona saw Lucy looking at her with concerned eyes, asking if she was ok. Ona herself wasn’t sure why they were after her and everything was starting to hurt a bit but she didn’t want to worry Lucy so she just nodded and sent her a small discreet smile.

And with the break over the girls once again went on the pitch.

Twenty minutes have passed since the beginning of the second half and the aggressiveness was getting worse. In the one moment that she didn’t have the ball Ona joked with Aitana that she will be surprised if she gets out of this game in one piece and almost got a smack on the head for the joke, with Aitana grumbling at her that she shouldn’t say stuff like that.

They were up 5 – 0 but the brunette hasn’t really contributed to any goals since she was always getting pushed as soon as she got the ball. Ona could sense that Lucy was fuming because of the tackles but Ona herself was getting irritated, she wanted to at least get an assist.

Right now Madrid’s goal keeper Misa had the ball and they were wating for her to shoot it out. Ona saw the ball flying in her direction and made a run for it, but she didn’t see that one Madrid player also had the same thought and when Ona jumped to head the ball towards Aitana she felt a boot connect with her head. She let out a scream and suddenly everything went black.

As soon as Lucy heard the scream she knew who it was, she turned in the direction were the scream came from only to see her girlfriend lying on the ground. Her feet moved on their own and she isn’t sure if she ever run this fast in her life. The right back crossed the pitch in record time, and only Aitana was there before her. Lucy dropped to her knees her breathing raged as she looked at her girl. She was so panicked Ona’s eyes were closed and when Lucy touched her, she wasn’t responding.

“MEDIC! WE NEED THE MEDIC!“ Lucy screamed when she saw that everyone around her was frozen in shock. She gently stroked Onas’s hair and face while whispering to her to wake up.

Suddenly Aitana was kneeling besides her, saying something but Lucy thru her panicking couldn’t actually hear what Aitana was saying. She didn’t respond until she felt her shoulder being shaken and then hearing Aitana say that she should probably move and that if Ona wakes up now she would probably want to see someone more familiar in front of her. Lucy almost growled at her, the right back wanted to scream at Aitana say that there was no one that knew Ona better than her in this team, that Ona would be the happiest seeing her if she wakes up. But she bit her tongue and simply pushed Aitana’s hand of her shoulder.

In what felt like an hour but was maybe one minute the medics were by her side gently checking Ona’s head. She still hasn’t woken up and Lucy felt like crying. By now their teammates made a circle around them to hide them from the fans and cameras. Everyone was concerned but also a bit confused, nobody expected Lucy of all people to react this way. Hell, nobody knew that the two girls interacted with each other outside training and their interaction on the field were also very limited. Just as the medical team was about to put Ona on the stretcher Ona opened her eyes.

Everything was fuzzy and she felt sleepy and dizzy. Ona could make out that people were around her still she couldn’t really focus on anything. But then she felt those gentle touches on her cheek and hear the softly whispered words. She instantly realized who was in front of her even tho she could only make out Lucy’s silhouette.

“Luce…”

“Hey carino. Can you try to stay awake for me for a bit please.” Lucy asked softly.

“Don’t know Luce… my head hurts and everything’s blurry.” Ona slurred. Grateful that her girlfriend was talking in Spanish since she wasn’t sure if she would be able to understand what was being said if it were in English, she could hardly comprehend what was being said anyway.

“I know princessa but please try to stay awake, they need to get you on the stretcher please Amore.” Lucy softly told her and at the same time nodded at the medical team that they can start putting Ona on a stretcher since they stopped with their efforts when they saw Ona wake up.

As soon as she gave the sigh the medical team started moving and transferred Ona on the stretcher.

“Luce it hurts please…” Ona whined and everyone saw that she will lose consciousness soon.

“I know baby I know. You can go back to sleep now I’m here.” As soon as those words were out of her mouth Ona fell unconscious again.

Lucy cursed under her breath as she watched Ona being caried away, she realized that she was probably going to have to stay on the pitch since there was no one there that could replace her.

When Lucy turned around to look at her team, she saw that everyone was looking at her with concerned but at the same time confused look. Lucy was so close to crying and she really didn’t want to deal with this right now. As soon as she saw Mapi open her mouth to start asking what that was she shoot her a glare and told her to go back to her spot so they could finish the game.

Alexia was confused but she also saw that Lucy might punch someone if they stayed here, so before anyone could ask any more questions, she commanded everyone to get back to their spots. After all they still had a game to finish and the faster they were done the faster everyone could check up on Ona.

…

As soon as the whistle for the of the game was heard Lucy was running towards the medical room. She didn’t stop outside to check on others or to talk with fans, honestly, it’s a miracle that she even stayed on the filed after Ona went down. She made it to the medical room in record time and there she saw Ona awake. She was lying down while the doctor was still checking her head but her eyes were still open. Lucy breathed a sigh of relief and Ona’s eyes turned towards her. When she saw her Ona offered her a slight smile and relief washed over her face, she grimaced in pain not even a second later but that didn’t matter since Lucy was now here.

Lucy came by her side and took her hand to start kissing the younger woman’s knuckles.

“Luce… you’re here”

“I’m here baby, here and going to stay here whit you. How are you doing.”

“Everything hurts, and they called the ambulance to get me checked out in the hospital. The ambulance will be here very soon I think.”

“Mhm ok.” Lucy took a big breath before kissing Onas’s palm “Doc do you know to which hospital they are taking her.”

“I think they are going to the La Maternitat i Sant Ramon hospital, the ambulance should be here in a minute or two.”

“Thank you” Lucy said before turning back to Ona. “Alright Bubs I’ll wait with you here until they arrive and then I’ll go take our stuff and go straight to the hospital after. Is that alright with you?”

“Of course Luce. Thank you for being here.” Ona looked around the room seemingly confused about something before looking back at Lucy ”Where is everyone else?”

“They are probably still outside or something I don’t know. I came here as soon as I heard the whistle, tho I imagine they have a lot of questions because I reacted the way I did. Ughhh I don’t want to talk to them right now especially not about our relationship. Omg this is going to suck.”

Ona giggled before slightly catching the older woman’s head. “Maybe you can say that we are just friends or that you were just in shock.”

“Ha I doubt they’ll believe that, did you know that Aitana almost pushed me off you saying that you will probably want to see a more familiar face when you wake up.”

“Seriously? Well I quite like the face I woke up to, I think Aitana was a bit wrong about that.”

Lucy hummed as she scratched Onas’s head. Her fingers sliding thru her now free hair. Ona closed her eyes as she tried to enjoy the feeling of her girlfriend’s fingers in her hair, her head was pounding and she was going to take any relief she can get, she wasn’t able to take any medicine since the doctors still weren’t aware of everything that may be wrong with her head.

“Lucy, Ona the ambulance will be here in a few seconds so I`m just going to take my stuff from the other room before helping you to get in the ambulance. Is that ok with you Ona?” The doctor that left before they even started their conversation came back.

“Yea that’s alright I`ll wait here then”

The doctor nodded as she again left the room.

“Ok but before you go can I please get one kiss please?” Ona asked.

“Of course my love, I wanted to kiss you since I came in the room but I wasn’t sure how your head would take it” Lucy said as she brought her lips to Onas.

The kiss was incredibly gentle and soft since Lucy was scared of hurting Ona. The younger woman let out a soft sound before disconnecting their lips and then going for a small peck a second later.

The doctor came back into the room and slowly helped Ona to her feet so they could go. Lucy helped alongside the doctor as they slowly walked to the ambulance since Ona was still very dizzy. As they set Ona down, Lucy gently kissed her forehead before promising that she would see her soon and running back to the changing room. As soon as she walked into the changing room she felt everyone’s eyes on her. She knew that they had questions but Lucy was still panicked and they only reason she was so calm when she was with Ona was because she was forcing herself to be, she wasn’t sure she could have stayed that calm much longer. And because off that she stayed silent and ignored everyone, she quickly threw all her stuff in her bag and went to Ona side to throw all her stuff in the bag too, as she picked up Ona’s boots she felt tears run down her face, she softly cursed before stuffing that in the bags too. She hasn’t even changed before she took their stuff and was heading out the door. But then Alexia stopped her, Lucy knew that she owed them an explanation but she just couldn’t do that today, she wanted to see Ona. She NEEDED to make sure that Ona was for sure ok, and so she brushed past Alexia and started jogging to her car. Lucy got into her car and immediately broke down… she didn’t even realise that she was so scared. She cursed and hit the wheel while tears were streaming down her face again. As soon as she calmed down a bit she started driving home. She got out of her car threw their bags on the floor, quickly went to her room and changed. Before she left, she took one of her hoodies which she knew Ona loved to steel and few of Ona’s favourite snacks. Lucy was in the hospital not even 15 minutes later and asking the nurse if she could tell her where Ona was. In the end it looked like they put Ona in a room. The right back quickly thanked the nurse before hurrying up the stairs. Before she went in she gently knocked on the door and waited for someone to tell her to come in. Not a second later she could hear Ona call out her name. When she went in Ona was still in her kit and only her boots were gone. Ona gently smiled at her before making grabby hands to indicate that she wanted hugs. Lucy dropped her stuff on a chair before gently gathering Ona in her arms, she buried her head into Ona’s hair gently kissing her and breathing her scent in. They stayed like that for a few minutes and Lucy finally felt herself relaxing.

She pulled back a bit so she could look Ona in the eyes and asked: “And what did they say, how come they put you in a room?”

“They said that luckily I only have a concussion but from what they see for now that I should be fine. They told me that I needed to stay so they could monitor me. It looks like I’ll be spending the night here. Oh and we are still waiting for a few test to come back so they can be sure that there isn’t any bleeding in the brain and all that.”

“But you’ll be fine right.”

“I should be ok yes. I didn’t realise you were so worried I’m sorry Luce.”

“Hey no apologizing it wasn’t your fault ok. I’m guessing that your head hurts and that you want to go sleep right. You look like you’re about to fall asleep.” Lucy said as she stroked her hair.

“Yea…” Ona quietly mumbled into her shirt where she buried her head in.

“Alright, I brought you some clothes so you can change and then you can sleep, ok?”

“Mhm”

Lucy gently pried herself away from Ona before taking the clothes and helping Ona change. The whole ordeal went slowly since Ona was drowsy and Lucy just felt the need to drop a few soft kisses here and there which made Ona giggle.

“Wait isn’t this your hoodie.”

“Well you are always stealing it and you say its your favourite so I thought why not bring it to you. But I can quickly go and grab another one if you want something else. Sorry.”

“No no Lucy thank you. God how are you so perfect I love you so much.”

Lucy brought the chair so she could sit besides Ona “I love you too superstar, why don’t you go to sleep now yea”

“Superstar? Mmm that’s a new one I like it” She said as she softly looked at Lucy her eyes lazily closing and opening.

“Yea?”

“Mhm makes me feel special” The younger woman mumbled.

“Well that’s good because you are really special to me.”

“I love you.” Ona said as she took Lucys hand into her own her eyes finally closing.

“I love you to bubs. Go to sleep now.”

“Luce…”

“Yea”

“Stay with me?”

“Course my love.”

And with that Ona let her head tip to the side and went to sleep. Lucy gently moved her chair so she could rest her head on Ona’s thighs and softly started playing with Ona’s fingers which were still in her hand. Minutes passed and Lucy stayed still, just content to watch Ona rest. After an hour or two a doctor walked in. Lucy gently raised her head as to not and wake Ona up and looked at the doctor. She softly introduced herself and asked him if he could explain to her better what happened with Ona and if there were any news. The doctor explained everything and told her that the rest of the scans they were wating for all came back positive so for now they didn’t have to worry about anything. They wanted her to stay the night so they could make sure nothing went sought but chances of that happening were really small. He told her what she should do to ensure that the recovery goes well but also promised her that he would repeat everything tomorrow before they leave. Lucy thanked him and he left. Since it was getting late Lucy gently woke Ona up so she could eat something. They started eating the snacks Lucy brought from home and started chatting a bit.

“You know I’m surprised that they haven’t come here yet.” Lucy said.

“Who are you talking about.” Ona looked up from the pudding she was eating to stare at her girlfriend.

“You know our teammates…”

“Wait did you explain anything to them before you left?”

“No…” Lucy admitted all while looking incredibly guilty “I basically ignored them.”

“Lucy omg” Ona giggled.

“What! Oh come on you can’t blame me I was panicking and I really didn’t have the time nor the nerves to explain anything to them. I’m pretty sure everyone thinks I’m crazy now tho.”

“I know Luce, I’m sorry I’m not blaming you. And I want us to explain everything together anyway. But it is quite strange that they haven’t come here yet. Did you check your phone maybe they sent us messages.”

“Shit yea let me check. So, I have approximately at least 50 texts from everyone and you have at least 100. Probably should call your mum now.”

“I completely forgot about that, give me my phone so I can call her.”

“What no. I’m calling her you know you can’t look at screens when you have a concussion.”

Ona glared at her but still let her make the phone call, it was already 10 pm so the call didn’t last very long but Onas’s mother was happy to hear that Ona was ok and that Lucy was there to take care of her. By the time Lucy was done with informing everybody that Ona was in fact ok Ona was ready to go back to sleep, her eyes kept closing and she was 5 seconds away from sleep.

“Luce?”

“What’s up carino? You look tired maybe you should go back to sleep.”

“Yea I was just thinking about that, but when will you get back tomorrow.”

“What do you mean.” Lucy looked at her confused “Back from where?”

Ona looked a bit frustrated she thought that maybe she lost something in the translation, after all her English was not the best when she was tired. “Like from home, when will you get back here in the morning”

“I… Ona I’m not going home what? I’m staying here with you.”

“Luce I’m fine now you can go home. You should go home actually, you need to sleep and probably eat something. I know that what we ate now is not enough for you especially after a game.”

“What no, I don’t care if you’re fine now I’m staying with you. And I can just eat tomorrow when we get home.”

“Lucy you need...”

Lucy quickly cut her off now fully glaring at her. “I’m not going home and that’s final now go to sleep.”

Ona relented she knew that when Lucy set her mind on something it was really hard to change it and right now she was to tired to try. And after all it warmed her heart and made her feel a bit safer that Lucy would choose to stay with her instead of going home. With that thought Ona fell asleep with a small smile on her face and Lucy fallowed soon after, her face on Onas’s thighs while holding her hand just like before.

…

(NEXT MORNING)

What Lucy didn’t see last night when she quickly went thru her texts is that her teammates planned to visit Ona in the morning. Alexia somehow negotiated with the nurse from the front desk to let them all go in the room, she barely managed to do it considering there was about 15 of them. Everyone who played yesterday came and some of the younger players also came with.

“Mapi calm down, some of the patients are maybe still sleeping.” Alexia whisper shouted while they were walking down the hall to get to Onas room. “Also does anyone know what happened with Lucy yesterday and where she is today, because I can’t get her on the phone.”

Everyone shook their head no. Nobody knew what to make out of yesterday, Lucy never acted like that when someone was injured but at the same time no one saw the two of them interact outside of training. Some of the players like Mapi and Pina suggested that maybe they were secretly dating but the rest of the team quickly threw that idea out of the window. There was no way that those two would work out, and while some players knew that Ona had a small crush on the older right back before, most of them figured out that Ona would either be too shy or awkward to make a move on Lucy and that Lucy would look at Ona as some of the younger players. At some point some of them even made bets about what is going on between those two. Alexia is a bit ashamed that she took part in the betting but she just couldn’t believe that those two were together and Mapi, Pina and Vicky all put a hundred dollars on the fact that Lucy and Ona were dating so Alexia figured out that it was a quick and easy way to get some money.

Soon they were outside Ona’s door and knocked to see if anyone was in. When they didn’t get an answer, they just assumed that Ona was sleeping and they came in. Alexia couldn’t believe what she was seeing, Lucy was just laying on Ona their hands interwind.

“Should… should we wake them up” The question came from Ingrid who had the same disbelieving look as Alexia.

“I mean yea probably.” Aitana said.

“Right… um let’s wake Lucy first.” Alexia guessed that she said that a bit too loudly since the moment the words came out of her mouth Ona started waking up.

“Wha… Omg Luce wake up. Um what are you guys doing here?” Ona nervously asked while gently shaking Lucy to wake her up.

“Ona what time is it, late me sleep.” Lucy didn’t even rise her head just simply buried her head even further into the blanket and Ona’s legs.

“Luce I swear to god get up.” And this time the warning came with a hit to the head.

“Ow, what’s wrong? Wait are you in pain I’m sorry what do you need?” With that Lucy was on her feet in a second not even paying attention to anything around her just Ona and what she might need. Ona sighed and almost smacked her own head with her palm before Lucy stopped her.

“Lucy look behind you.”

“What…oh um hi guys.” When Lucy looked behind her, she saw half of her team with their jaws dropped. “What are you doing here.”

“Well” started Alexia “someone got injured in a game yesterday and we basically got no updates from the medical team except that she is ok and in which hospital she is in. And someone else “she continued all while glaring at Lucy” basically disappeared the moment Ona got injured.”

“Right so um I’m ok, they kept me here just to make sure that I’m ok in the end. Lucy stayed with me and now I guess we are just wating for the doctor to come and release me.”

“Right…. And how come Lucy just stayed with you?” Cackled Mapi.

“Well uh…”

“Ok let’s cut the shit then, yes me and Ona are dating that’s it. I was that upset yesterday because my girlfriend whom I love was injured and I wanted to make sure she was ok and that is also the reason why I stayed.” Lucy was now a bit irritated. She knew that their relationship was surpassing but to wake them up while Ona was injured and demand answers, well it was getting on her nerves a bit. “Does anyone have anything to say.”

Everyone was quiet until Mapi just broke into a big grin and said “Well it looks like you all owe me, Pina and Vicky a hundred euros.”

“Wait what” Ona tried to say but her question was drowned out by everyone complaining and pleading with Mapi. All this noise was starting to give her a headache since she had a concussion and when she looked towards Lucy she saw that she was also in shock. Ona quickly tugged on Lucys sleeve and gave her a pleading look hoping that she would understand what she means. Luckly for her Lucy understood and with a quick but sharp “Be quiet!” shut everyone up. Lucy turned towards Alexia who was standing in the middle of the group with guilt attached all over her face.

“Alexia explain” She growled.

“Right um well yesterday we were all confused with your rection to Ona getting hurt and since you weren’t answering your phone and no one had any answers we started speculating… and in the end we made a bet. Mapi, Pina and Vicky guessed that you were together but we all didn’t believe it. And yea that’s basically it.”

“So you basically bet if we were in a relationship or not instead of just asking us.” Ona asked now a bit upset but mostly amused. “How much money did you lose?”

“Everyone has to give 100 euros”

At that Lucy simply laughed “Well that might teach you not to bet on people’s personal lives”

“Right, but wait come on since when are you guys together? No body even suspected it until now and you guys’ barley interact while we train”

Now it was the couples turn to look a bit sheepish and embarrassed. Ona started explaining how they met at Lucy Stanford’s weeding and how it all kind of went from there, Lucy cut in here and there to add some details but she was mostly staring at Ona with a love sick smile.

“Wait” now Patri cut in “so you’ve been together for what a year.”

“It will be a year in 2 months yes.” Lucy said.

“Why didn’t you guys tell us, you know that we wouldn’t judge you right?”

“Well at first we wanted to tell you but then we realised that we kind of liked the privacy of no one knowing so we decided not to say anything for at least a while.”

“And I was wondering why Lucy was on her phone so much during camp all smiley. Honestly, I’m surprised we or at least I didn’t figure out that you guys are together. You loke absolutely in love. I’m happy for you guys.” This was the first time Kiera spoke up but she did look genuinely happy for the couple.

“Thanks Kei that means a lot. Do you mind if we talk a bit later?” Lucy said, now both Ona and her had small blushes on their cheeks.

“You know I don’t mind Luce”

“Alright now that everyone knows everything you might want to go home, because I can see that Ona is getting a headache and the doctor will be here soon.”

“Yea we’ll go, but you guys have to host a team bonding night and explain everything in detail deal.” Alexia said while ushering everyone outside. “Yea yea now get lost.”

GOD I absolutely agree re:werewolf tropes, especially in romance. I want to read so many werewolf books, but So Many play into pack dynamics/violent werewolf bf/etc etc tropes that it feels nigh impossible to find something that will Hit for me specifically. Do you (or anyone who stumbles upon this) have any recs for werewolf media? Particularly that which is outside of romance as the main plot/genre? (Nothing against romance as a whole, I just don't tend to enjoy it when it's the main focus of a story)

god yeah im the exact same, its why i usually end up gravitating more towards horror werewolves cause at least then i dont normally have to worry about weird alpha boyfriend tropes lol. But that means i dont really have too many media recommendations! I'll put a couple thoughts under the read more, but if anyone has any recs, feel free to reply below 🙏

i don't have any book recommendations bc i havent read a real book in years so most of this will be movies/shows/comics

Being Human (US) is really good in a lot of places (one of my absolute favorite werewolf designs), but the last season really falls into a bunch of those werewolf bullshit tropes so i pretend it doesnt exist lol. i think the good bits outweigh the stupid though! I have also watched the UK version and its. not bad. i just didnt really get into it idk.

The Order 1886 barely feels like a werewolf game even though it is for sure a werewolf game lol. i would recommend just watching a playthru tho cause the gameplay is pretty much nothing but the plot and characters are very cool!!!!

Uhhhh everyone knows van helsing which is an objectively just an ok movie but the werewolves and vampires go so hard i have to like it. Dog Soldiers is also a fun campy flick, and i enjoyed werewolves within but thats more of a mystery than a genuine werewolf movie. Annndddd i did actually like the wolf man 2025 like. its gonna piss a lot of werewolf fans off i think and i know why people dont like it but i think the ideas and themes it presents are really interesting to me specifically! so idk if the individual werewolf enjoyer will like it in the same way i did but i will recommend it if u like werewolves that really lean into the disease/virus aspect of it.

Wilde Life is a webcomic that i really enjoy that is.... werewolf adjacent. I wouldnt really call Cliff a werewolf, more of a shapeshifter, but they sometimes call him a werewolf so its close enough for me to mention it and theres lots of other cool critters and scary bits to make the comic worth recommending.

I dont think Prague Race (webcomic) is officially available anymore but that also had some fun werewolves in it. You can probably find an archive of it if you google the name (the artist's new comic, 'tiger, tiger' is also very good but has nothing to do with werewolves lol)

How to be a werewolf is another webcomic that does do a bunch of the pack dynamic trope but the characters are charming and has some romance but it isn't the primary plot, its more about family than anything. and a female werewolf main character is always a plus!

ok literally this is so niche and i probably shouldnt even bother mentioning it but i have sat on this fic for literally 8 years now and it makes me so sad the author never finished it but. one of the only werewolf fanfics ive ever read that i really clicked with was an overwatch hanzo/cassidy fic called 'spurs don't pair with scare chords' and i need to put it here bc its the platonic ideal of a werewolf fic with a well paced romance that isn't the major intrigue point. its my white whale of a fanfic and it being unfinished haunts me. i wish overwatch was good

⋆. .☘︎₊˚⭑ a/n - Hi!! this is my first time writing and publishing a story so constructive criticism is welcome!! This first chapter is more of a world building one as i want to turn this into a series if you guys enjoy it and ask for more!! thank you for taking the time to read this :))

⋆.☘︎₊˚⭑ content - Oliver Aiku x fem reader, strangers to lovers, u-20 game, reader plays hard to get, pretty slow slow burn,

⋆.☘︎₊˚⭑ synopsis - You and your friends go to see the u-20 vs blue lock game together when you notice him: Oliver Aiku. Spotting you in the crowd he thinks " I must have her". But what happens when you aren't as easy to persuade as the girls hes used to getting.

Oliver always worked hard for what he wanted. Nothing was ever just handed to him and he never wished for it to be like that, the feeling of pushing himself too his absolute limit to get the one thing he desired most made him excited and thats why he loved soccer so much.

It was just another game he thought, the u-20 vs something called blue lock? He didn’t know too much about the other team or the people who were on it and honestly he didnt care too. Cocky? Maybe a little, but he had faith that his team would come out of this game victorious like always, and he didn’t expect this one game to change that.

You had been looking forward to this match all week, you and a couple friends planned to see it together. it was the only thing keeping you going through your very stressful finals. you needed something that could help you unwind and plus youve never been to a soccer game in person before especially not one this big. So it was rather exciting and new for you.

You had finally finished getting ready when your friend calls you. Shes outside ready to leave, so you grab your belongings and walk towards the door, the wind hitting your face as you walk out. It was a beautiful day outside, its the middle of fall so the leaves are turning colors and falling off the trees. You step on one hearing a nice crunching sound. You make your way to the car finally entering it.

“Woahhh you look cute!!” Sophi exclaims; the excitement ringing through her voice

“Thank you!! I put so much thought into it and….”

Your words start to blend together as she starts the car and pulls out the drive way. You talk the entire car ride there but she doesn’t mind, she listens to you ramble and even asks questions; thats just the type of person she is. Thirty minutes later, you’re there: the blue lock arena. Its huge and crowded filled with stands for food and merchandise. You have never seen this many people in one place at one time this must be a huge match you thought.

You spend a while walking around with sophi looking for your other friends, you zone out but cant help but be intrigued by the other side conversations happening, everyone sounds so passionate about this match.

“Can you believe it sae itoshi is really going to play with u-20!!”

“Really?? We cant miss this we need to hurry and get to our seats”

“Shidou Ryusei s going to be playing with u-20 too, i didnt expect that because hes a total random”

“Isnt he also from the blue lock program?? Why is he playing with u-20”

“ [NAMEEEE], SOPHIII “ you freeze hearing someone call out your name quite loudly bringing you back to reality

“ [NAME] LOOK RIGHT HERE ITS ME” you look around scanning the area when you see her.

“ OH HANA OH MY GOSH” you scream, you havent seen hana in forever since she attends a different university making your friendship mostly long distance.

You give her a hug squealing as sophi approaches from behind you and gives hana a hug aswell. You guys spend the time walking to your seats catching up. School, life, relationships. You want to know everything especially because its been so long since your iconic trio has been together like this.

You guys are mid conversation when you start to hear it, the chanting “JAPAN! JAPAN! JAPAN! JAPAN!!!” The chanting is so loud its practically damaging your eardrums.

“Look guys i think the players are coming out!!”

“WHAT??? SOPHI I CANT HEAR YOU” hana yells

“SHE SAID SHE THINKS THE PLAYERS ARE COMING OUT” i scream back, hoping maybe this time hana heard

“YEAH LOOK OVER THERE I SEE THEM” hana points them out coming from the entrance in the west

You all watch as the players walk out. You made sure to get pretty good seats so youre super close to the field and have a good view of each person. One by one they all walk out each member of u-20 comes out first;

“Woah do you guys see number 10 on u-20??” Sophi asks a sparkle in her eye.

“Yeah why??” You and hana ask simultaneously.

“BECAUSE HE IS SOO CUTE” she crys out.

“NONONONONO DID YOU SEE RIN ITOSHI ON TEAM BLUE LOCK??” Hana says practically foaming at the mouth starting an argument between the two.

While they’re discussing who is finer of the two brothers you cant help but stare out at the 6’3 giant on the u-20 team. Hes tall, with nice healthy looking hair and two different colored eyes one blue the other green, exactly the same as his hair. His jawline is sharp and his facial features are very…?? There isn’t even a word to describe it, you can’t formulate one. But if you had to choose you would say perfect. Oliver Aiku is perfect.

“So who do you think is better [name]??” Sophi asks

“[name]??? Earth to [name] where are you??”

“[NAME]!!” sophi screams in your ear quickly startling you and gathering your attention.

“Huh, what sorry i was zoned out” you say left in a daze.

“Were you zoned out or were you just too busy looking number 2 up and down” hana chimes in slyly.

“what no i just was zoned out stop it!!” you say all flustered

You turn your attention back to the field, everyone’s setting up now getting into their starting positions. You look around for a second and come to a stop. Someones staring at you, you can feel it their eyes piercing your soul. You turn your head to find whoever is looking at you so intensely when you lock eyes with oliver aiku, he smiles at you giving you a smile so warm and genuine that it makes your heart race. You think for a second that maybe you’re tweaking, maybe the delusions are getting to you. So you turn your head breaking the eye contact you shared.

“Guys i think i just made eye contact with Oliver aiku and he smiled at me…” you say questionably.

“Are you serious?!?” Hana freaks out almost jumping out of her seat.

“Did you smile back??” Sophi asks intrigued by the whole situation.

Oh my god…you didnt smile back!?! Fear settles over you as you realize you didnt even return the sentiment not even a little. you didnt even smirk…. Your face twists as you come to your realization, sophi notices.

“Sooo im gonna take that as a no, you fumbled the bag [name]” she jokes

“Oh as if, like there was even a bag to fumble in the first place” you scoff knowing there was no way in hell you even had a chance with the number 1 defender in u-20.

“Aiku what are you staring off at, the games about to start get in position” sendo warns him.

“Sorry, you’re right sendo!” He shouts making his way to his area; center back thats where he plays.

Walking to his area, he ponders about the girl he just saw she was so… Gorgeous?? he doesn’t even know if that’s the most appropriate word for her. She was beyond that; she was ethereal. He wonders if there’s a chance that he will ever get to see her again I mean it’s highly unlikely but if there’s even a slither of hope he’ll go for it. Because he has to have it. He has to have her.

The whistle blows and the game finally starts sae Itoshi starts with the ball it’s U 20s kickoff. After a series of very complex passes and saves, nagi seishiro finally scores the first goal with his iconic intro to japan. The crowd is blaring, everyone is hype ready to see what blue lock has in store for this match.

Goal after goal, the winning team keeps swaying. With only a few seconds left on the clock Isagi positions himself in a place where he assumes the ball may fall. The crowd is over the roof, its so loud in the arena that you could probably hear it from way outside, even if you’re several miles away. The ball lands right where Isagi thought it would he kicks the ball…..and he scores. Isagi scores the winning shot for the u-20 game and blue lock wins 4-3, it was a very close win but still very much a win.

The match seems like it went by so fast thats how phenomenal it was. Everyone was so invested and tuned into it. You’re quite surprised with how the match turns out. Don’t be mistaken you know blue lock was amazing but you didn’t expect them to best the u-20. Everyone stands up to make their way out of the arena but you and your friends just sit there for a little watching as everyone leaves the field.

“Man that was such a good match” hana utters, shock still sounding in her voice from such a surprising match.

“I know right” sophi says mouth agape also still in shock.

You all sit there for a couple more seconds taking in your surroundings and processing your feelings all you can think is. “Damn that was truely an amazing match” Suddenly your thoughts are interrupted when you have the sudden urge to go use the restroom. I mean its not too surprising you did drink ALOT of soda during the game.

“Hana, sophi i have to use the bathroom” you announce.

“Okay lets go its time to leave anyways!!” Sophi vocalizes.

The trio makes their way to the bathroom swiftly. As you finish up you walk outside and hear a familiar manly voice. You continue walking, looking down not paying too much attention to your surroundings when you accidentally bump into someone. Without looking up you start profusely apologizing.

“Oh my gosh im so sorry, i wasnt paying attention and-“ he cuts you off.

“Its okay, you dont have to apologize so much it was an accident.” The man coos.

Wait that voice, ive heard it somewere you slowly begin to look up at the large figure infront of you. No way, you cannot be serious. There is no way you just ran into oliver aiku.

persona 3 reload came out yesterday so Naturally i was obligated to finally do a finished piece with my silly velvet room attendants submas au. alt versions, lore info, and misc doodles under the cut o__o (attendant related p5 spoilers mentioned). also sorry for the eyestrain.

protags they attend to are Fellow Twins hilda and hilbert who always just get referred to as 'passenger(s)'. velvet room manifestation is the inside of a subway car, no i havent worked out what that symbolizes to hilda and hilbert, dont worry about it. but i think whether its visibly in motion or not wld depend on the protags' mental state, one side of the windows for hilda and one for hilbert. mostly dark empty with no visual movement outside the windows w/ maybe a flickering station light somewhere or a visibly blocked tunnel for when theyre feeling stuck in life, default would be like a well lit platform outside of the window with faceless shadow people walking around, how crowded it is depends on their progress with social links. high speed through the tunnels with their half of the car rocking violently when there's high stress super dire stuff going on, steady movement when theyre making progress with something, etc etc

their brassards HOPEFULLY translate to 'down' (χάμω) and 'up' (πάνω) in greek??? i wanted smth like caroline and justine's hats but also not The Same and uhhh yknow. persona 3 and greek mythology are pretty :handshake:.

i dont wanna steal margaret's eldest sibling clout so i think physically ingo and emmet would be younger than her but only barely. margaret is literally the only attendant i can see being physically over like 35 and i need sbms to be mid thirties at like the bare minimum. theyre highkey disturbed whenever lavenza willingly splits herself back into caroline and justine. weirded out by the other 'twins' in general bc they're not even Real twins. they gatekeep being twins. if anyone asks "so are you guys also just two halves of one person" it will be the most offensive thing you could ever say to them. elizabeth and emmet bully theodore together. ingo doesnt dislike theodore but just kind of forgets he exists because the twins are always being like "my brother, [name] (pauses and remembers theodore), i mean, ONE of my brothers,"

emmet is very :handshake: with elizabeth while ingo is very :handshake: with margaret. they both have their own fave sisters whoops. (sorry lavenza). in any sort of 'dancing game' scenario theyre both awkward as hell. very theodore core in general with emmet having some of the elizabeth vibes of just 'i am just never going to stop making random jerky body movements' ingo is a BIT more stiff. but like in general i think theo's way of life and elizabeth's aria of the soul have pretty good ingo and emmet vibes respectively. if i ever learn model editing beyond texture replacement its so over for my mmds.

i love igor dearly but i think since there are Two of them they can kinda handle stuff on their own while igor helps with Other persona protags in their respective rooms? emmet says shit like "YEAH FUCK IGOR THIS IS OUR LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!" and ingos like "emmet be nice thats still our boss and the only reason he let us be in charge is because hes busy".

ingo handles all persona fusion stuff and emmet does storage/organization/other misc stuff and gives you p3 elizabeth styled quests. they can both be social linked because i say so. emmet is justice arcana and ingo is judgement. emmets quests are the only way or at least the main way to increase your social link with him and if you dont finish one of his Special Request ones you lose your link with him. one of the special requests is to take him and ingo to see a real subway station 100% because theyve never seen one.

of all the other velvet rooms, they like the p4 one the most because the inside of the limo is the closest to the subway car they're familiar with but i think theyd like the p3 one too for the possible rocking motion of the elevator eternally going up

helloo since we're on the topic: top historical fiction (or adjacent) ? can be any time period I just really love your taste in shows/games/etc and am always on the lookout for history inspired media !

thank you!!! im rly glad im like. inspiring other ppl to engage w things im insane abt hudofajsdfdassfsad. anyways. i will probably expand that list bc i literally forgot every single thing i ever read. also i havent watched that many movies so far

ancient times: i havent really watched a lot of movies/series set in ancient times so far :(

rome HBO (2005-2007) (tv series) - OF COURSE. i personally think its one of the best series ever made. they combine political, miliatry history with the lives of every day people in an incredible way. they never let you once engage with the series through modern lenses. according to my teacher (a historian, archeologist & self described 'romaphile') its incredibly historically accurate, mostly the clothing, set designs, characterization, military practices, etc. except for the things they straight up made up, of course.

i really enjoyed gladiator (2000), i think its a masterpiece.

prince of egypt (1998) i guess?

all the asterix movies of course, all the animated ones and most of the live actions. but i wouldnt really call it historical fiction

ok i havent actually finished watching it for now but sebastiane (1976) - an erotic, x rated, gay interpretation of the martyrdom of st sebastian. its in latin also.

wait i cant believe i forgor about assassin's creed odyssey - so far the only one ive played. its so fun and incredibly immersive visually. especially pour moi who cries into the pillow about how ill never experience the ancient world. also you can b a faggot which is always fun. i have things to say about their portrayal of same-sex sexuality and slavery in classical greece but i get why they did that considering its supposed to like. appeal to a lot of people, and a more "historically accurate" portrayal (for example of pederasty or how common slavery was etc.) would b v difficult for a lot of their target audience. alas.

medieval and early modern era:

the name of the rose (1986) - my medieval history teacher literally showed us bits of this movie to teach us about monasteries and monks fhdosiasdjasd.

the borgias (2011-2013) - incredibly messy, lots of political intrigue, and so so fun to watch. about the history of the borgia family. filled to the brim with drama.

the three musketeers (1993) - my favorite adaptation, also coincidentally the one i grew up on. casting tim curry as richelieu was genius. he slays so hard.

i also like bbc's the musketeers (2014-2016) - a neat little series. very fun and entertaining to watch.

outlaw king (2018) - like i dont think most ppl heard of this movie. its about robert the bruce's fight to reclaim the throne of scotland. starring chris pine

vikings (2013-2020) - its fun. i havent watched the entire series tho. dont expect anything resembling historical accuracy

the northman (2022) - you will see something resembling historical accuracy

mihai viteazul (michael the brave) (1971) - a fun movie. very much romanian propaganda tho.

1670 (2023-) - such a fun series!!! incredible cast, shows respect to the actual history and the lives of historical people. really cute and funny.

caravaggio (1986) - a biopic about caravaggio.

wait i also forgor about pentiment - an intriguing, immersive, and incredibly beautiful video game! it has a lot of 'the name of the rose' vibes, with it being a medieval murder mystery taking place in a monastery. its incredibly touching and made me cry, and in the last few years i very rarely cry. also im 99% sure its an indie game? go support the creators!

vaguely-medieval/early modern fantasy:

mirror mirror (2012) - a retelling of snow white. a very fun movie imo, with incredible costume design. julia roberts plays the evil queen and she SLAYS. armie hammer is unfortunately in that movie.

stardust (2007) - one of my fave movies growing up. more modern-inspired but still.

the green knight (2021) - controversial i know but i actually loved this movie! i liked it both as a standalone movie but moreso as a 21st century adaptation to sir gawain and the green knight.

galavant (2015-2016) - !!!!!!! one of the most series ever! they manage to tackle such difficult concepts and conversations with a hilarious wit. so fun to watch. i listen to a lot of the songs still, and rewatch every once in a while.

disenchantment (2018-2023) - very fun to watch, especially the first season.

i also really liked the novel uprooted by naomi novik. its a polish-inspired fantasy.

modern era:

killers of the flower moon (2023) - of course. a masterpiece

aferim! (2015) - a romanian movie set in 19th century wallachia, about two officers, a father and son, who were sent by a nobleman to retrieve an escaped enslaved romani man. a lot of the people in the comments were calling the movie humorous and funny, maybe im missing smth (as im watching with subtitles n dont understand the original language) but it was a very difficult watch for me??

the handmaiden (2016) - need i say more

black sails (2014-2017) - a prequel to the famous novel 'treasure island'. not an easy series to watch. incredibly good.

the favourite (2018) - need i say more pt 2

the rabbi's cat (le chat du rabbin) (2011) - animated movie set in early 20th century algeria. a rabbi's cat learns to talk overnight.

the nice guys (2016) - a fun murder mystery set in the 1970s

o brother, where art thou (2000) - a retelling of the odyssey set in the southern us in the 1930s

victor/victoria (1982) - set in early 20th century paris. julie andrews pretends to be a man and takes on a job as a drag queen. extremely fun, extremely gay movie.

lady chatterley's lover (2022) - very much porn for moms but it was a nice watch imo

amulet (2020) - set in like. idk. sometime in the 20th century. this is a horror movie, deals a lot with misogyny, sa, and so on. i really like it, personally. a lot of people, mostly weird men, dont tho.

the great (2020-2023) - i have mixed feelings about this show. on the one hand, its really fun to watch. on the other hand, its basically ofmd for girls who have public mental breakdowns whenever someone claims corsets were oppressive. and theyre so weird about russians, jesus christ.

disses:

domina (2021-) - i just couldnt get into it, esp since i tried right after finishing rome hbo. it was kind of silly, and not in a good way. takes itself wayyyy to seriously.

i didnt like spartacus (2010-2013) - the dialogue was almost grotesque and the editing, especially the transitions, straight up killed me

damsel (2024) - holy fuck what a trainwreck of a movie. absolute waste of angela basset and robin wright. the only good thing were the costumes.

lancelot du lac (1974) - i just didnt like it at all. couldnt get into it. i guess it was way too french and artsy fartsy for me. a movie that was trying to say both too little and too much at the same time.

i didnt rly like bram stoker's dracula (1992) - i mean. it was a fine movie. it was definitely not the godfather. the movie itself was meh. the visuals tho? absolutely stunning

if im an artist with no following + want to make games for $ (i want to do game dev for work) shld i release games for free at first so ppl have a Taste (idk if ppl will buy even if it looks good n idk hiw to advertise. i hav no monies or job rip

idk really if your games look good and are good then ask for money but if you havent made games before and will be doing amateur work youre probably gonna get better results releasing free stuff for your first things.

if youre going to make eroges like me i thikn itch io is a good place if your game has a good look and you tag it with all the nsfw tags i use like porn and adult and if you relaly wanna be bold tag your transgirl game as futanari for free tourist traffic.. it should help with building audience

ultimately i dont think its about if its paid or free when getting started its more like.. dont spend 5 years working on your first project. aim to do small ones like jam games that take a month or two to make. then you can release a pay what you want free game and a paid game and see how it compares and then use that experience as your information going forwards

also if you're doing free games i thikn pay.what-you-want option with some bonus stuff like for example an artbook like how i do it is a pretty good way to approach free games as well. i dont see it as often as id expect given how nice it is

if you end up making money from your games eventually i think the best thing to invest in terms of games is to pay a good artist to make you nice looking sprites it helps with people taking your game more seriously be it a paid game or a free one

maqrketing is kindof annoying but I'm terminally online and cant stop posting so the tried and true method of posting porn and shitposts about my game on social media is what i do

but seriously IMO the most important thing is just that dont spend years making some bbig project in the dark and start with something small first to get more familiar with your skills and audience and what you even want to do first. even if your big project ends up being amazing its a huge risk and time investment.. it works for some peopel but theres many people who it wont work for

finishign games is hard so imo the most valuable skill is to just finish something like put aside some time in your life for 2 months for a jam and complete a game. if you can do that then it means you can do games and experiment what is the right play to do if your goal is to make money

idk how much money here truly is to be made with tiny indie games but itch io is good for porn and if you wanna sell out make some koikatsu waifu game for cis man audience and release a 0.1b version and put up a patreon looool <3 remember, no ntr. men are afraid of ntr

25. Which character(s) would you actively avoid? Personally, you would not see me anywhere near Vil, Rook or Sebek.

I can appreciate Vil's efforts to have people more self-confident in their own image however I absolutely despise how forceful he goes about it, especially with Epel and the dance troupe. If I EVER caught him trying to change parts of myself that I'm proud of (my australian accent, my nerdy sense of fashion, etc.) it would be ON SIGHT- (Can you tell I'm still not over Book 5?)

For Rook, i can say I..... respect his dedication and loyalty to his beliefs. However? That man... he scares me... Also, i'm still extremely salty over the VDC/SDC results WE SHOULD HAVE WON THAT AND WE LOST TO THE TWST EQUIVILANT OF BABY SHARK- Rook, i don't care about your reasonings for why we weren't at our best, I've seen the video performance AND THE NRC TRIBE FUCKING NAILED IT!!!

And then our croccy boi- Now don't get me wrong, I do love Sebek as a member of the first year gang of idiots. I also don't know a lot about him personally since I've only known him in events and havent started Book 7 yet. I understand it comes from a place of self-loathing but dude, PLEASE read the room for once and not screech our ears off. I'm certain that I would eventually befriend him but if we actually met face to face, it would be a miracle for me to not punch him 1 minute after his insults.

5. If you could have any unique magic / signature spell in the game, which would you choose and why?

Ooooh I've never thought about that until now actually. Personally, i would want something that would be useful and practical both in a day to day life or in a fight since I'm not very physically strong. Going with that idea, i'd more than likely pick either Split Card or Paint The Roses/Doodle Suit. Multiple me's to help me do chores around the house or distract someone in a fight? YES PLEASE!! I also have a lot of sensory issues so I feel like Paint the Roses would really help me eat the things i need to or make a certain texture that feels funny to me turn comfortable. We've also seen how useful it can be in a fight during Riddle's Overblot when Trey turned the rosebush into cards and saved us.

If just for fun though, I'd love to try out any of Savanaclaw's UM's/SS's. Now THAT would be chaotic heheh.

28. What is the TWST related content that you've produced that you are most proud of?

I personally really love my HTTYD x TWST fic that i've been writing. Knowing myself, I probably wont ever finish/post it so I'll have what I've written linked here for anyone who's interested in my favourite brainworm lol. Bella is a very special oc near and dear to my heart as she's the first one that I've enjoyed writing for since being kicked out of home over a year ago. She gave me back my creativity and I couldn't be more thankful for it.

Right now, I've even been imagine a Fairly OddParents x TWST fic in my head which I think would be a BLAST to write, where my Twisted version of Timmy Turner (a girl called Izzy) would use their rule free wish to be a part of Wanda, Cosmo and Poof/Peri's family as their bio daughter when they're no longer her godparents and becomes a half-fairy hybrid in the process. The idea of a "magicless" girl at NRC who out of nowhere suddenly can not only make but GRANT wishes that bend the laws of reality around her is absolutely hilarious to me. Haha take that you pricks, you thought I was weak? BOOM you're a hedgehog, now you really are a prick. Rewatching FOP and seeing how Timmy can be such a menace/pos really makes me think he would fit in GREAT amongst NRC lol.

I'm also really proud of the Card edits I've done for other people where I turn their OC's into different rated cards so it looks like it's from the game. Seeing all the different kinds of OC's and hearing about their characters is so amazing.

adhd talk

the third truly unsung project alongside my film and dissertation was the weird amount of targeted effort i had to put into Completing Anything Big As A Neurodivergent Person Whose Brain Is A Crazy Off The Rails Train Staffed and Patronised Entirely By Multiple Exact Copies Of The Squirrel From Ice Age

which is a description like 99/100 people reading this can relate to, but i think a sentiment i see less often and therefore feel kind of stupid and stubborn and lonesome about is "adhd is innate but is also exasperated by hectic lifestyle/modern instant gratification machines so if i fix my habits around those i can cure myself forever". which is silly and wrong but also i feel abit disconnected from adhd social media culture and cant cope just relating to it (which is all it seems to be sometimes) but learning to harness or tame it to do the things that are really important to me

i felt really cringe tbh having to look up youtube videos of HARVARD STUDENT REVEALS PRO STUDY TRICK and then narrowing it down to specifically adhd-focused study videos and keeping a planner and setting aside specific time to study studying and practising anti-academic meltdown journaling techniques and reading fucking atomic habits but i really didn't want to contribute to my abhorrent academic record following me all through undergrad. in fact i wish i had done this sooner but i was not self aware enough to consider the fact

probably the best change i made was severely cutting down or being mindful of social media time, i don't backread my tl anymore and have more moments of awareness when i find myself dumbly scrolling and realize i dont want to be doing this, and then wondering what i actually Do want to be doing. i keep a book nearby to read, and have also swapped a lot of social media time to sketching-off-pinterest time. reading about the psychology behind social media apps is also super interesting, although i always feel like a paranoid wacko conspiracy theorist talking about it. stuff like how negativity and judgemental behaviour is good for engagement (and therefore ad revenue), and how if all posts on your tl were interesting you wouldn't be as addicted to social media as you are, therefore microblogging employs a slot machine/gacha system where you "roll" for posts by logging on and hope to get a good one. it's a little full on but the more i think of it as a revolting and evil machine the more incentive i have to do something else with my time ^q^

a harder thing to do was, in the late stages of the project, the real crunch time month, avoid everything that could become a huge hyperfixation, and then eventually even minor distractions or fixations. because i know if i got super obsessed with something i'd just be up posting about it or drawing fanart. i had to bar myself from persona 3 remake and elden ring dlc and all these other shiny new releases, and the mobile games i was playing... i look forward to catching up on them now. i took up reading books a lot more because unfortunately thats just not as exciting. in the last month of film work i stopped listening to music on my computer so i wouldnt get drawing or animation ideas to distract me from film work. as of writing this i havent listened to music in like 40 days guys 😱 at the same time i am the kind of person who needs background noise to work, so i have:

watched novum's four hour hereditary video essay three times

watched novum's seven hour midsomar video essay three times

watched that one five hour bojack horseman retrospective twice

listened to audiobooks of the Britney Spears biography, Jennette McCurdy biography, three Playboy Bunny biographies (i was on some sort of lady bopgraphy kick i guess), and a few fiction books

rewatched all of bojack horseman

started on House MD and got a few seasons in before i finished the project, amazingly the perfect show to look away from bc of all the medical stuff, how many lumbar punctures do you need to show like seriously

honorable mention to the learned skill of communication and being honest and picking your battles and killing your darlings which is a larger part of managing mental illness than i cared to admit but one of the hardest ones because it involved confronting things and making big painful drastic changes and then having to tell the faculty about them. sometimes i'd be stuck on a piece of animation work for weeks/months, then go back and change the underlying idea to one i'm actually passionate about, and do the animation work in one day using newly found magical hyperfocus passion power. it's crazy! but being able to be confident about taking those steps rather than keeping on with what you're "supposed" to do went a long way.

i very much look forward to listening to a music and playing some video games properly now and being pulverized like a small victorian child from the sheer amount of fun i'm having. i'd say it was all worth it and a fun experiment in channeling the magical humours of passion and boredom and i hope it will help me with future projects too. i Am super burnt out though x__ x thanks for reading and for all your support up until now!

Hi i made a post on instagram about the top five games i played for the first time this year and thought id share it here! none of these are in any particular order. except the last one. my favorit....

first up is oneshot! it took me wayyyy too long to play this game. oneshot feels kinda like one of the staple rpg maker games, yet i went into it pretty much completely blind, "finished it" in one sitting, found out there was over half the game left, played the rest, and cried real hard. such a good game that breaks the fourth wall in really interesting ways. and also it has niko who doesnt love little fella niko

second is halope! this is a game i had never heard of before my friend ángel (@raccoonlover333) told me to play it and i feel like i still dont really see people talk about it? it has a very unique style i think and each of the areas have their own atmosphere and feel to them (aside from the fact that all of them have distinct color palettes lol). very lovely game i enjoyed it a lot. also one of the first times i played a game with multiple endings and felt satisfied not going out of my way getting any i missed ? i enjoyed what it had to offer and didnt feel the need to pry for more (good thing)

hard shift from story based rpgmaker games but next is webfishing. webfishing is good. its so good youve probably heard a lot of people say this by now but its just so fun and calming to sit around with friends and fish for hours. theres something special about the kinds of online games where theres a physical space you share with people, especially those you havent met in person. makes you feel like youre there with them. and also you can get a man i love fishing shirt whats not to love

o yea baby farming sim. this game is so charming and has a lot of quality of life features that i feel are missed in other farming sims. it is still in early access so i cant be too harsh on it, but i will admit that the characters feel a bit too flat currently. a lot of nothing burger dialogue which isnt always a bad thing but when 20 characters tell you Hey this weather huh? must be good for farming! its hard to differentiate their personalities in your mind lol. im sure thatll be added to in the future though like i said its still ea and only has enough content to last you about a year in game. what it does have is very fun though and i would recommend it

You knew it was coming be honest. where do i even start. technically i Did play isat for the first time last year, however, it was for like one hour and then i didnt pick it up again for half a year. so it counts to me. and also i take any excuse i can to talk about this game

in stars and time is a game that portrays characters and relationships in such a realistic light to a degree ive never seen in any other game. it makes it so easy to immediately become attached to this group of friends despite knowing them for less than ten minutes. its a very emotion heavy game. and who can forget the time loop Ohhh yes the time loop. siffrins slow decent into hopelessness and anguish after failing to escape time and time again is something rarely shown in time loop media i feel. at least to this degree. madoka magica comes pretty damn close though lol. also looping in time and zoning out through dialogue (and doing so having consequences) is such a cool game mechanic

while im talking about isat im slipping its prequel game in too, start again start again start again a prologue (or just start again). this one, though much shorter and more of a proof of concept, feels much more harrowing in the ways it pulls it off, especially without a certain characters presence. but i wont say more than that as to not spoil it teehee

this game changed my life for the better. and has been causing me psychic damage every day for 8 months. heart ♡

and thats some of my favorite games i played this year! there were more but not enough for it to be 10 and 5 was a nicer number than like 7 lol. happy new year! i hope this year treats you all well and i cant wait to draw one million fanarts as i have been doing for the past 5 years. Yayyy

Alright, let’s see about her character

She doesn’t work in the TBD like her parents, but she does still have to deal with a lot of paperwork and office spaces

One thing I’m aware of is that the TBD is supposed to be a secret, people aren’t supposed to know it exists outside of those who work there, probably because they deal with time travel. So the idea was that Coffee Bun (and likely other TBD kids, aside from maybe String Gummy ones) wouldn’t be part of it. Though I’m not really sure what she does know of it, considering both of her parents work there

I’m gonna be honest, I’m not too sure how to approach that question, because Ovenbreak doesn’t give us an answer as to how much TBD family members, would know about their jobs, because it isn’t necessary for us to know. And it becomes even more pressing of a question when you’re making a kid for at least one of them, someone who should probably know what their parent does for a living. And it’s made even worse in this scenario because both of Coffee Bun’s parents work in the TBD. So what do they tell her? Does this fly under the radar for her, and if so, how? This isn’t an answer the game gives me because none of characters there are parents, and so it isn’t necessary, and probably won’t be

I don’t know, maybe Baguette retired after Coffee Candy made manager, and she was Coffee Bun’s stay at home mom

Also sorry, getting back to Coffee Bun now, I just had to get that out of my system

So Coffee Bun works a normal office job, though she has a bit of a passion for drawing, and has had a long standing habit of doodling on papers. She considers it more of a hobby and doesn’t really think she can make a career out of it though, so it mostly goes unnoticed. Her parents did try to encourage her to maybe pursue it further when she was younger, because she has talent, but she insisted it’s not that big enough of a deal to her

And if I’m being honest, that’s about all I have on her. I really don’t have much on her character. I made up the office job thing right now as I’m writing, because I didn’t have anything for her other than being paper related, since I drew her holding paper. I’m not really even sure an office job fits her design, she looks to me like more of an artist, nothing about her screams “office worker”. Maybe in current day it is something she wants to pursue a bit more, but she still needs money, so she sticks with her regular job

Maybe I’ll rework the character description later, I don’t know

Anyways, on to the design I suppose

So her name is based off of these coffee buns, which I got as a suggestion. She’s called that because it is bread (I think) and contains coffee

Okay, if you couldn’t tell earlier, I’m just gonna say it here, I didn’t really know what I was doing with Coffee Bun

I made her rough sketch ages ago, and I quite liked it, I just…never really knew what to do with her. I kind of just made something up here because I thought “why not finish her now?”

Also personally, I’m dissatisfied with her outfit. I didn’t know what to do with it, and she’s kind of just wearing something generic, which is a far cry from her parents’ distinctive outfit designs

She doesn’t really even have coffee buns anywhere outside of her head, which again, I already made prior and is probably the best part of her design

I mean her outfit is supposed to be browns and yellow because of the color of coffee buns, with it being brown on the outside (and they seem to range in darkness of brown, as seen in the images), and light yellow on the inside, but that’s about it

I feel like this is something I struggle with when it comes to character designs, especially with my Cookies. I can give them distinct hair, but I never really know what I’m doing with outfits, or how to relate them to their ingredients (granted, maybe that’s because I’m someone who has no sense of fashion and only wears T shirts and sweatpants/leggings every day). I also just don’t know how to make accessories, especially distinct ones

And that’s another thing, I feel like I don’t really connect the characters back with their ingredients, especially with fankids. They’re more arbitrary than anything meaningful. But then I also don’t know a lot most of the ingredients I choose, and I don’t know how to learn that information, or I can use something similar as a basis for the character

Like take for example, the new Cookie teased this morning. She looks to be made of strawberry Pocky, and she’s a drummer presumably because the shape of Pocky is similar to drum sticks. It’s such a simple connection and it gives you something for the character. But I’m not able to make those easy connections, and it frustrates me to no end and leaves us in situations like this

…Sorry I got carried away again. This post feels more like me ranting about my struggles with making characters than much about the character herself. Apologies to the person who requested this for loading your request with all this

I mean, in a vacuum, Coffee Bun isn’t half bad of a design. But it’s the fact that she looks so bland next to her parents and the fact that I had nothing for her at the end that makes me bring her down in my eyes

But I suppose you can disregard me if you want and enjoy her if you want to

Musing: Emotional connection

Recently a very close person to me suggested i binge watch "Angel Hare", before that day my only exposure to that project was a fan game that had a very funny punchline in lampooning the "cursed videogame" genre.

So i watched the whole thing and it was great.

This scene right here made me feel more feelings than most of the media i have watched/played/read in like the last 5 years or so.

So it made my mind wonder, like, "hold on, when was the last time i felt this strongly about a piece of entertainment?"

Sure, if you know me, i felt strongly about the ongoing plotline for Noelle on Deltarune, so one would think "2021 when chapter two came out", right? but no, i got very invested but it wasn't it.

The last time i felt so strongly about a piece of media was actually Deltarune's predecesor, Undertale in 2015.

I finished Undertale in tears, i got in a very bad funk when i found out about the genocide ending, it truly made me feel emotions.

So i began to ponder, just what really moves me?

Full disclosure: I don't cry at movies. This is not a "look at me i am a badass who is not beheld by feelings" statement, no, i kinda just dont connect emotionally with movies as easily as other people.

I have talked about this, many times actually, Toy Story 3 did not make me cry, it always bothers me how people at the time were like "if TS3 didn't make you cry, you have no soul" and shit like that, so let me repeat something i have said many times before:

Toy Story 3 was a movie i went to see the day doctors had informed me my mother had entered terminal phase of cancer.

My friends took me to see TS3 when i felt the greatest sadness i have ever felt in my entire life. And im glad TS3 was a pretty funny movie that managed to distract me from what i was going through. TS3 uplifted me when i had a very real reason to cry.

So what im getting at is, i rarely connect emotionally with what conventionally makes people emotionally connected, not that i havent felt strong emotions from movies, but as we'll get to later, it's just not the stuff you would expect, when we get back to movies you'll be thinking, "what the fuck, Toy story 3 did not make you emotional but THIS THING DID?!"

So, if traditional "emotional things" rarely have moved me i began to think to myself, "what are things that have made me feel this strongly?"

I realized it's the damn weirdest things.

I'll try to list things that i can remember making me feel this emotional.

Now i'll be upfront, im not a very cultured person, so you'll notice most of this is...not very high brow.

Also, obviously spoilers for all this stuff im about to talk about.

Before we begin: Honorable mention goes to me finding out i had repressed memories of being traumatized as a kid by being show an animated adaptation of "Pilgrim's progress" by an aunt, which disturbed me greatly towards the end as the main character dies and before it the souls of two people he met are condemned to eternal damnation from making MISTAKES, not sins, not evil, but THE FUCKING MISTAKE of exploring alternate routes before them.

-Yoshi's Island, 1994 When i was a wee one Yoshi was one of my fave videogame characters, so of course i was beyond hype when a game where you play as yoshi came out, the ending is one of the greatest moments in videogame history, the beautiful music, the journey of the stork, and finally the classic Mario fan fare playing as baby mario and baby luigi being held by their parents with the words "Heroes are born", it's such a powerful moment. To this day i still cannot listen to that credits music without tearing up.

Sequel? Retcon?! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, SHUT UP, THIS IS THE PERFECT ENDING AND NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED AFTER IT!

-The bicentennial man, 1999 The bicentennial man is one of the biggest examples of a movie being fucking mischaracterized in the marketing, this movie is based on Isaac Asimov's short story and later novel, it stars Robin Williams, so all marketing was presenting the movie as Robin Williams comedy movie, IT. IS. NOT. The bicentennial man is a scifi drama about the existential search for meaning and the nature of what truly is to be alive. You get invested on the quest of this robot trying to find humanity for 200 years, and the punchline to this movie is, in his quest for humanity he forgoes the immortality being a machine provides him as he had developed the way to turn himself biological, still artificial but biological, and he dies peacefully on his sleep before he can be told that humanity had declared him, legally, a human being. To me it was such a powerful moment, he found true meaning to his life, became human, yet died before knowing so.

-Courage the cowardly dog, "The Mask", 2002 This is a legendary episode of an already great show that has a lot of very good emotional moments, some may cite episodes like "the giving tree" or "the last star maker", but for me it's this one. For those who have never experienced this episode, it revolves around a cat girl named Kitty who one day shows up at Courage's farm and she's wearing an upsetting mask, she abuses courage because she believes all dogs are bad. The mask serves 2 purposes, one is metaphorical, "her inability to face reality", the second is to hide her identity as she believes she is in danger. The thing is, she is on the run because her lover best friend Bunny is trapped in an abusive relationship with a gangster dog who threatened to kill her if she was seen near Bunny ever again, the episode coats the whole situation with a ton of goofiness, but it's actually very fucking dark: A young lesbian is trapped against her will on an abusive relationship with a toxic, violent man who threatened to kill her girlfriend if she refused to date him. Courage, being a good little dog ventures to save Bunny and have her reunite with Kitty because, despite how bad Kitty was to him, he recognizes that Kitty is a victim and she and Bunny deserve better, leading to Courage letting them escape away together, to live happy and free. I don't think it's just me, but the final image of Kitty and Bunny hugging as the train takes them to freedom felt so powerful to me.

-Twisted Metal Head-on, 2002 This is one of the weirdest things i have ever gotten emotionally invested, but honestly? i love when some shitposting franchise suddenly manages to pull this off, specially given the set up for this whole thing im going to describe starts in an early game as a fucking joke. So to contextualize this, the first two Twisted metal games were helmed by the og creators of the franchise, TM 3, 4 and small brawl were made by different developers when the creators lost the rights, but during the PS2 era when the og developers came back and created TM: Black, and TM: Head-on, Black was a reboot, Head-on was a retcon sequel to TM 2 that eliminated TM3 from the timeline, but not TM 4. Still with me? Okay so TM2 had this character, Krista Sparks, who was the revealed to be the daughter of the main antagonist of the game, Calypso, but hold on? wasn't Calypso's backstory that his family died in a tragic accident which lead him to become evil? So turns out, the FBI retrieved his daughter's corpse, turned it into a robot with a bomb with the intend to make her get close to Calypso and blow him up. The ending ends comically with a message reading "The FBI wishes to thank you for putting an end to Twisted metal". Stil Still with me?!?!?! ok! so Head on! In this game Krista is back, as a ghost, her ending consists on her confronting her dad, who has now brought up so much pain, misery and death to the world, Calypso tries to explain that the nature of his powers mean he has to do this otherwise he cannot use his powers, and his plan was for Krista to win so he could bring her back and her mom to life, but Krista is so horrified with what has happened that she refuses and blurts "I wish the accident that killed me and mom never happened" the intention being impeding Calypso from becoming this evil super natural villian, but as per all endings, it's always a monkey paw affair and Calypso knows it, looking saddened he grants the wish because he has no option, his powers force him to. Briefly Krista has a vision of her childhood with her dad before he became evil as they share a sweet moment playing on a swing set. HARD CUT TO A HOSPITAL, Krista is on a bed in coma, Calypso is there and whispers to her something along the lines of "Sleep tight my dear, may you finally find peace", as Calypso is leaving the hospital you can hear 2 doctors talking, mentioning that Krista had been in coma for more than a decade and apparently Calypso just had found out. Excuse me Twisted Metal, but WHAT THE FUCK? You are a dumb fucking edgy car combat game, how dare you make me feel these things?

-Mother 3, 2006 (translation on 2008) Mother 3 hopefully needs no introduction, or maybe it does, because many people have reduced it to a joke due to how nintendo stubbornly refuses to give us an official release, but also many of you must know this franchise is the spark that ignited the flame of the absolute Juggernaut Undertale would become, as well as many other games influenced by it. The Mother/Earthbound games were known for being quirky and deviating from the standard conventions of the game, notably for the modern day setting and unorthodox choices of how you deal with the villians, they were always billed as emotional, but i feel they did not live up to that...until 3. The general narrative to Mother 3 is about how greed is destroying the world, the main villian corrupting what we see of the world (a paradise little town where everybody is nice) by introducing luxury, money and status....and also stomping everything with his fascist army and cyborg mutants. Mother 3 is a game about how the worst traits of humanity are destroying the world and upsetting nature. Mother 3 is also the story of 2 twin brothers who suffer tragedy after tragedy after tragedy that ultimately pits them one against the other with the fate of the world at stake. Mother 3 punches you almost immediately by killing the mother character (which i might mention you're encouraged to name after your own mother) at the end of the first chapter and how this affects her surviving family. one of the Twins, Claus, is so disturbed that he decides to on on his own to try to kill the monster that took his mom, while the other, Lucas, was too afraid and weak to stop his brother, resulting on Claus dying as well...but the badguys take his corpse and reanimate it into a cold, emotionless cyborg who follow's the big bad's order and is using him to try to cause the end of the world. In the climax of the story Lucas is force to confront Claus, clause is a brain washed cyborg, his master is out of the picture and all he can do is fight, you can't reason with him...and then.... Lucas and Claus begin to hear a voice, a familiar voice, it's their mother, reaching for them from beyond the grave, pleading for them to stop fighting, suddenly Lucas and Claus both have a flash back to when they were babies, overhearing their parents talk about the hopes they have for them, the many things they will be able to achieve together, this makes Clause snap out of his brain washing, removing the helmet that had been hiding his face since he was resurrected, Lucas and him have a moment as they are finally reunited, Claus realizes all the bad things he has done while under control of the bad guy and realizes he must atone for his crimes, he prepares a lightning attack he knows cannot hurt Lucas and cause HIM to die. "Im sorry for all the problems i caused" he says as he is dying on his dad's arm, "I must go to where mom is now", as he passes away he can hear his mother calling for him, "You just be so tired" she says. Now i know it will sound insane for people to hear a videogame of all things can make one so emotional, but damn, just recollecting these scenes for this dumb post has made me start to cry, the emotional punch of this scene is very strong, it demolished me when i played the game back in the day, but now? After my own mother passed away? I have been scared of playing this game again. I mot sure if im emotionally prepare to go though that again, even 10+ years later. That's how powerful this scene was to me.

-Elite Beat Agents, 2007 If you have played this game, you know were im going, for those who dont, EBA is a silly rhythm game about secret agent cheer leaders that are dispatched around the world to help people in need by raising their spirit and allow them to overcome adversity, the game is insanely wacky and have scenarios like helping a ninja car salesman prevent a company from stealing his company's secrets, helping a washed up baseball star fight a lava spitting golem rampaging on an amusement park and traveling back in time to help davinci paint the mona lisa. EBA is also the second game in the Ouendan series, and there is something you need to know about this series: They all include tearjerker levels to contrast with all the goofiness. "A christmas Wish" is a christmas themed level set to Chicago's "You are the inspiration" and the story to this level is positively DEVASTATING: A few months before christmas a business man tells his daughter and wife he has to go on a business trip but he promises he'll be back just in time for christmas, the girl asks him to bring back a "girlfriend" for her teddy bear. The father dies on a plane crash. When the mother breaks the news to the little girl she gets angry, crying to the skies that her dad promised he would be back for christmas. The backdrop of the stage is set the girl and the mom doing things to remember the dad, like looking through a photo album and baking a cake for his birthday, it's very sweet, but...this is EBA, if you're doing poorly you see the "bad" versions of these scenes, and in this one, one is very devastating, the little girl is having a dream where she's chasing the spirit of her dad, if you're doing well she calls for him and for a brief moment the dad stops and starts turning towards her, if you're doing bad the spirit fades away and the girl wakes up in tears. Dear goodness. But of course, if you beat the level you get this sequence of the ghost of the dad showing up on chrismas morning to fullfil his promise, giving the little girl the teddy bear he promised and having the chance to say good bye to his family.

This punches you really fucking hard in the gut. I am incapable of doing this level without ending in tears. For a time i could not even listen to this song without tearing up until, i shit you now, the deadpool movie used it on a comedy scene.

-Punch out!!, 2009 This one is one i know got me because of personal nostalgia, when i was a wee one the og NES punch out was a big part of my childhood, Punch Out!! on the wii was a masterfully crafted tribute to the franchise. To not dwell too much time on this, this game has an interesting quirk, the ending is a downer ending and it's the only ending you can get. After you beat the last opponent there is a sequence where Mac and Doc seemingly are having a disagreement, where Mac seemingly has decided that if he loses 3 times, he'll retire from boxing completely. After this you face randomly opponents from the game, the first time you lose in this mode you lose your champion title, after three loses, it's game over and the story mode becomes locked for that save file. The final cutscene is Doc walking through what seems to be a gallery with boxing memorabilia, and untold number of years later, he is alone, he spots his old bike on this gallery and rings the bell, he looks up and speak to an absent Mac, "Good job son, good job", as he leaves the camera pans to reveal he was looking at a framed photo of him and Mac on one of their training sessions. The music on this sequence is so perfect, and it was aimed at people like me, people who grew up with the franchise, the idea was making it feel like Doc was reminiscing of YOUR time with punch out when you were a kid, and to make you think about how far YOU have come since the first time you played the games in an arcade, or your nes, or snes. It's actually pretty effective and it got me.

-Regular Show, "Trucker Hall of Fame", 2012 What makes this one different from others instances of me making me emotional, it's, much like the "Angel Hare" example at the top, this one is all about WARM HAPPY FEELINGS, so for those who did not watch this episode, let me summarize it for you: One day Muscleman gets word that his dad, who was his personal hero, has passed away, and he's tasked with carrying his final wish, spread his [hat's] ashes in a place called "Trucker hall of fame", you see, Muscleman was lead to believe his dad was a legendary trucker and that earned him his admiration, but during the episode Muscleman finds out he was lied to, his dad was a forklift driver that the truckers belittled, altho feeling cheated for having been lied to he carries on with his father's wishes. Now because this is regular show, when they arrive at the trucker's hall of fame they are immediately attacked by ghost trucker for "desecrating the hall of fame" as they spread the ashes something happens: The ghost of Muscleman's dad manifests himself and saves his son, taking the chance to apologize to his son and having the chance to say his final good bye personally. Despite the inherent silliness of the show's premise, i think this episode really did a good job on expressing that sense of catharsis of making peace with the passing of a love one.

-The Final Girls, 2015 A friend suggested we watched this movie, and much like Twisted metal up there, i absolutely did not expect for this incredibly stupid comedy horror movie to hit me with any sort of emotional connection, and yet... The Final Girls opens with the main character in a car with her mom, who is an struggling C-tier actress whose biggest achievement ever was appearing on a Friday the 13th knock off movie, during this sequence they get in an accident where the mom dies and even after it's been some time since the accident the main character has not properly moved on from the passing of her mom. Her friends and some people at the college she attends are preparing this horror movie festival where the main event is they are going to play the movies from the franchise her mom was on, and they suggest she should come. Then some bullshit happens and they all end up somehow trapped in the world of the movie. A quick rundown of the rules of horror movies is explained to them, the monster cannot be defeated by fighting it, it's only the final girl who can defeat the killer, and unfortunately for them they accidentally killed the character that, in the canon of the movie, is the final girl, so they believe one of them has to become the final girl and end the movie to hopefully get out of it. The problem is, the main character is experimenting shock from interacting with her mom's character, she is not taking well to seeing her mom on the flesh and she dedicates the entire movie to "save her mom", in the climax of the movie the mom character begins to understand that she is a fictional character and the nature of her attachment to the main character, understanding that they cannot be both the final girl and if then main character wants to make it back to the real world she has to learn "To let go", choosing to sacrifice herself so there is only one final girl. It's kinda weird, that of all possible premises, this managed to make a "You need to move on" message that somehow managed to resonate with me, you might have figured out by now a running theme here, but, i was really hard for me to deal with my mother's passing even if it's been years since it happened, so it's kinda funny for me to think these are the places i have found comfort from.

-Undertale, 2015 Okay this is tumblr, i already talked about Undertale on the prologue to, whatever the fuck im doing here, you know what undertale is, you know how effective it is, Undertale is really well designed for you to grow emotionally attached to these characters, so being able to see all these characters you know have grown attached to have their happy ending on the pacifist ending does fill one with a very satisfactory warm happy feeling that can move you to tears. ...Or you can be bummed out by being a little greedy gaming bitch and taking a look at the bad ending. Because you just couldn't help yourself, could you?

-Onward, 2020 This movie did not hit me as hard as the most emotional entries on this, but it still got me, because in the end of the day the main motivation of the characters on this movie is experiencing closure, catharsis over the death of their father, for Ian it's the fact that he died before he was born so he never met him and is driven by this desire to finally see the father who he shares such a connection with on the stories everybody who knew him in life have told him, and then there is Barley, the elder brother, who did know his dad in life, but is tortured by how, as a kid, he did not properly say good bye to him because he was terrified of death and avoided being there for him in his final days. The ending for this movie is very powerful, Ian choosing to sacrifice being able to meet his dad in the flesh, even for a few minutes, in order to give Barley the chance to being able to properly make peace with his dad and properly say good bye to him. Ian doesn't even get to SEE this, he does not get to see his dad even tho it was what he wanted most of all, but he understood bringing closure to Barley was more important than his selfish desire to see his dad, someone he never knew in life.

So what have i learned from whatever the hell this trainwreck of a post is...i guess that what really gets to me, what really moves me, is when a character, maybe not even someone i can realistically relate to, gets to experience closure, catharsis and be in peace with the people who are missing on their life. The majority of these things in here, even the Angel Hare example, relate to a character being able to experience catharsis by being able to properly make pace or otherwise contact someone they lost, or their ability to move on from this world, so to speak, knowing that their affairs and in order and that their loved ones will be okay.

Things can always look dark, the world may be trying to keep you down, maybe losing someone has been specially hard for you, but it's not the end of the world, you are loved and things can get better, it always hurts and we'll never stop missing what we have lost, but the memories of happier times are there to remind us, we can be happy again, and we can move on, use those memories as your motivation, you can lead yourself to a future filled with light.
