Worldbuilding
PREVIOUS
For the purposes of this post, "base" lifespan is the average lifespan of one of these people, outside of the help and benefits of society, but also assuming nothing ends their lives prematurely (such as what disease or starvation would cause).
"Modern" lifespan, on the other hand, is an average that factors in what medicine, magic, and social networking can boost that lifespan further. "Maximum" lifespan is the oldest a given member of the race can get with optimal medical care and lifestyle.
Humans
Heartrate: 60 - 100bpm Base lifespan: 85 Modern lifespan: -
No data available. Humans went extinct centuries ago due to a plague.
Elves
Heartrate: 20 - 30bpm Base lifespan: 255 Modern lifespan: 510 (max: 612)
Elves, being very long-lived already, have a very intricate understanding of medical care, magic, and the local resources, the lattermost of which their society fought hard to lay claim to early on. They're by far the most widespread of the eight races, their lifespans and advancements creating a feedback loop into their spread across known society.
Faunlings
Heartrate: 90 - 120bpm Base lifespan: 60 Modern lifespan: 85 (max: 101)
Faunlings have a shorter base lifespan than most races, but have a solid community network to take care of their illnesses and elderly. Faunlings put a heavy emphasis on family duty, though "family" also extends to someone's immediate neighbors.
Halflings
Heartrate: 120 - 140bpm* Base lifespan: 50 Modern lifespan: 70 (max: 84)*
Halflings have a duty to one another that extends to those nearby on a similar level to faunlings, though it's hard to measure how much this truly impacts them given how readily they disperse into other societies in the modern age.
*A halfling's heartrate and lifespan are largely dependent on their surroundings. A given halfling will adapt to more closely match the society they take part in, slowing or speeding up accordingly and benefiting from the social nets and societal advances in place.
Below are the rough modern lifespan expectations of a halfling in a given setting:
Elvish halfling: 305 Faunish halfling: 75 Orcish halfling: 185 Dwarvish halfling: 135 Brounish halfling: 145 Gnomish halfling: 75
Orcs
Heartrate: 50 - 70bpm Base lifespan: 105 Modern lifespan: 250 (max 302)
Orcs both have a high understanding of magic and healthcare and have incredibly strong community ties. Ages and ages ago, they were the strongest ones to stand against the elves in the rush for resources, and alongside them, are the most widespread people.
Dwarves
Heartrate: 30 - 50bpm Base lifespan: 165 Modern lifespan: 205 underground, 290 surface (max 247, sun max 347)
There's a big discrepancy between underground dwarves and surface dwarves. Rather than being a result of culture, however, this is a factor of biology—when dwarves go into torpor state due to sunlight, while petrified, their ageing effectively pauses. A dwarf that lives their whole life with the sun sending them into stone hibernation for a third of their existence is going to have more than a few years in change.
Brounies
Heartrate: 40 - 60bpm Base lifespan: 130 Modern lifespan: 210 (max 250)
Brounies have tight community ties, to the point where it's something of a joke that one brounie can name all the others in the area by heart. This means that, even where healthcare is poor, one falling ill has almost an entire population pitching in to help them out. Brounish history involves a lot of their needs and struggles being swept under the rug in favor of the other people of the world, so they very much have a culture of "if we don't look out for each other, nobody's going to look out for us."
Gnomes
Heartrate: 120 - 160bpm Base lifespan: 45 Modern lifespan: 70 (max 86)
Gnomes live in small pocket communities where they share responsibility for one another. They specialize in their own medicine, not because the advancements of modern society are lackluster, but because many of their biological problems involve a level of toxicology most other races don't know how to manage. Gnomes are poisonous.

An explanation of why I am confused by some Noldor pictures and view them with skepticism
There are many pictures of the Noldor and their 3 great houses. Some look very good and others are a bit more difficult to interpret.
What irritates me is that they are often depicted as dark-skinned (brown, sometimes completely black?), which is not exactly what Tolkien describes.
There are several reasons why, for me, all high elves are not brown or black-skinned and this has nothing to do with racism, but with some other factors that are ignored by many people!
The author, J.R.R. Tolkien, grew up in a racist time. At that time, it was extremely frowned upon to depict black people in stories or other art. Black people were viewed as inferior people at that time. (One reason why I absolutely detest the years 1800 to 1965! All people are equal, no matter what skin color they have! -.-*) When Tolkien spoke of 'black elves', he was referring to their hair color or their difficult character, not their skin color. For example, the children of Fingolfin are not black-skinned, but black-haired!
The basis of the idea of the Noldor. Anyone who knows a little about European history will certainly still know the ancient tribes of the Slavs, Franks, Saxons, etc. These tribes were certainly used as the basis for various peoples of Arda. Not only because Tolkien himself was a Briton and thus knew European history himself, but because he borrowed a lot from the Edda or was inspired by European history. Some tribes, including the Franks, often had long hair. Especially the leaders! They were very easy to recognize by their long hair, because they often had the longest hair. (Source: Franken/Merowinger )
The geographical location of the island of Valinor. Valinor itself is located more northwest than in the southwest or even entirely in the south. The further north you live, the fewer color pigments your skin contains. This has something to do with the sun's rays and the shorter days. The further south you live, the more intense and longer the sun's effects on your skin are and the more color pigments your skin has to protect itself from sunlight. This is also the reason why there are more black people in Africa than white people. The white people only moved there through colonization. If black people lived only in the north for generations, they would experience a lightening of their skin after just a few generations because they get less sun in the north. The dark pigments thus lose their usefulness or protective function. That's how I see it with the Noldor. Due to the location of the island, all high elves will be white-skinned rather than dark-skinned.
In short: I do not doubt that there are black-skinned elves. I strongly assume that they exist. I just don't see that the high elves have black skin, only black hair (with a few exceptions, due to intermarriage with the Vanyar).
I strongly assume that black-skinned elves are not high elves, but rather belong to the Moriquendi. The so-called dark elves. I don't know which tribes, apart from the Sindar and the Teleri, belong to this group. However, I assume that some tribes of the Moriquendi certainly went to the southern lands, to Rhun, Umbar, Harad or even further south; to countries that are completely unknown to me.
Of course, everyone can draw what they want. Celegorm is also wrongly depicted with blonde hair, although he had black hair like his father (blonde cannot result from red hair and black hair, it's called genetics…). This is up to each individual, but please forgive me for not sharing these works. The reasons are above, if anyone takes it badly, that's fine. I don't care.
I just wanted to give my opinion here and clarify again where the term 'dark' comes from in Tolkien's works and what it refers to.

I Left My Body Lying Somewhere In The Sands Of Time
This piece of writing focuses on a certain coping mechanism that I don't know if everyone is comfortable with, so I'm putting a border up. And here, I will put a definition! "Age regression is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when someone's thoughts, emotions, or behaviors revert to a younger developmental stage. It can be a temporary or long-term response to stress, trauma, or other factors, and it can happen at any age."
So this is NOT A KINK, and I only say this due to the people I know are out there who perceive it as such. People have this in real life. People cope with this in real life. This is just a personal headcanon that I was learning how to write with, and I'm doing my best to know all the research. Please let me know if anything doesn't fit or doesn't seem right or anything that I've gotten wrong, I'm trying to learn.
If you don't want to read it, no one is forcing you to. Be safe, readers!
Time was supposed to be unshakable, wasn't he? Their leader, the man everyone turned to for answers? When something goes wrong, who's the first person everyone knew had the answer to the given problem? Always ready to give advice. Ready to comfort. Old and wise.
So why was he curled in the trunk of an old tree, not feeling old at all?
His adventures had been hell, with time travel. More than double of his lifespan had been spent as a child. But he was in his late thirties now, he was sure, so why did he suddenly feel so small like the world was too big and he wanted to hide? Where was the strong leader people looked for?
He was gone, and a child was left in his place.
Link sniffled and cried, hugging himself. Thankfully they'd been at his and Malon's ranch, so whatever this... this was, was at least occurring in woods he knew were safe. But to someone who felt so small, feeling like the treetops hit the sky, like his memory wasn't quite there or complete, the forest was a maze. Almost like he was nine again. If Time was Time, he'd walk home in five minutes, no problem. But he... Was he Link out of Termina? Link after beating Ganon? Where was the math, what was his age? Would the Mask of Truth show him how old he really was, deep inside?
Was he nine, seventeen, sixteen, eight, five, thirteen, eighteen, or thirty six? That was too many numbers to think of. Masks he could do. He knew them, he wore them, he was the person inside for a bit. Somebody different. Certainly not the mess he was now.
He couldn't walk out, no problem, this time.
Link's hands- at least he knew he was Link, if not anything else. Was that a comfort or a curse? - fumbled at his belt. So many masks usually lined his belt. Where did they all go? The details were fuzzy. Only three of them were still there. At least there were three and they weren't all gone.
He hit his elbow on the tree and instead of flinching, his cries renewed, quiet and confused. Ow, why were even the trees being mean to him today??? It wasn't fair! It wasn't his fault that his limbs were too long and he was too tall and he felt too old to sit here and cry. Brain and body were not the same. Both complex in different ways. All mixed and matched and jumbled. He couldn't quite get a proper grasp on that feeling in the back of his brain, starting to spread and bleed fuzzily into the rest of his consciousness.
Link sniffled and rubbed his eyes. Right, what was he trying to do again? Masks? Ah. The first one he'd ever held.
He unclipped the Deku Mask with shaking, too-big fingers and cradled it gently. Perfect. He sniffled again. " 'M sorry." His voice was thick and small. He then slipped the mask over his face.
XXX
Why did transformations hurt so much? He'd forgotten how much they hurt. He didn't want to hurt. Had he, at some point, gotten used to it? But when had he had the chance to forget, it couldn't have been that long ago?
No matter. Link was maybe a little shorter than he was at nine, with the mask, and that almost cured his sniffles completely. Small in both body and mind, perfect! Matched like Malon's favorite cucco socks! But now what was he going to do, in these woods, in the late hours of the day? It was rapidly getting dark.
Being small wasn't useful in the dark.
And oh, Link didn't like the dark. Things that screamed and cried and took your life lived in the dark. The moon lived in the dark. Majora. Ganon. They all lived in the dark and he was surrounded by it, barely able to see the trees. No fairy to light his way. No song of home faintly heard through the trees to be his guide. Not even a night light.
He burst into tears again.
Link's tears weren't really there, seeing as he was effectively a Deku Scrub. There were no tears to cry. But the frantic breathing was there, the choked sounds in the back of his throat where vocal chords used to be. His hands were clumsy, made of wood, but they were small, how he wanted, needed, felt. How would he get home?
Oh, no no no, Link couldn't go home. They would think he was so silly, Mido would laugh. But was he going home to the Kokiri, or home to Malon? Would Malon think he was silly? His boys?
He didn't want to think of his boys. Link wasn't someone's dad. Being a parent was an adult job. And Link had just made the rule that he wasn't allowed to think of adults, effective immediately. Perfect rule, and rules were to be followed. Rules kept you safe.
So, instead of trying to go home, he scampered off deeper into the woods. He could find fairies, some light. And maybe when he felt better, they could guide him home. Navi always seemed so good at that.
XXX
"Where the fuck is he??" Warriors hissed, looking at the darkness outside. Time had gone out hours ago, claiming he needed firewood. It didn't take hours to gather wood from a stack of wood that was already chopped. He'd seemed a little detached as he told Warriors where he was going, but Warriors had chalked it up to needing some alone time from everything around.
"He jus' fuckin' up an' vanished." Twilight was pacing again. Time wasn't known for just disappearing. Or for saying he was going one place and turning up in another. That was Wild and Hyrule's job. Sometimes Legend's, if he was pissed off enough.
"It's nearly night, don't you think-" Four was cut off by Warriors grabbing his sword.
"I'll go get him. He's somewhere out here. I'll find him. He can't be far."
XXX
Oh, Link was so far away from home, and he wanted to go home NOW. Forget looking silly, the trees were all looking at him and they were mad and there was no moon and he could hear all the noises the forest made. He wanted to go home.
Link made soft, wounded noises, heading this way and that. No fairy bushes, no mushroom lights. No Navi. No Tatl. Just the dark and ohhelpno-
A very small hole he'd wedged a foot into. Had something grabbed him? Link pulled and pulled, but his foot was stuck and tight. Maybe some sort of burrow? He'd know if he was bigger. For sure. Link whined softly. He could hear the forest moving, which meant he had to GO GO GO or else something would find him and snatch him and he'd be gone forever-
Footsteps, quietly crunching, soft to try and not be heard. Link held his breath.
And immediately lost it in a grating sob, unnatural in the transformed body. Link's hands were too clumsy, no matter if they felt the right size. He couldn't magically dig himself out of the burrow-hole. The footsteps were getting faster, more urgent. Link couldn't get up, couldn't get free, one more footstep, Link curled up over himself, two more, hands on his face, covered in dirt one more two more three and four- "Heyyyy, shh. Are you okay?" The voice was warm, calming. As if talking to a frightened, wild animal. "I'm not here to hurt you, just looking for a- Time?" A time? What a funny thing to be looking for. Vaguely, Link recalled that he responded to that name. He paid it no mind, instead continuing to try and wiggle free.
XXX
Warriors looked down at this... Deku Scrub? That clearly seemed to be Time. The scar, the eyes, even the markings had transferred. Time was making an odd rattling noise, sort of like shaking deku nuts in a bottle. Trying to talk? Trying to explain? No. Warriors noted that it was some attempt at Hylian crying, though the body wasn't built for the sound.
Oh, dear.
"Okay, okay, I'll just- I'll try to figure out what's going on, okay? Is- is it some sort of curse? Can I break it? Here let me-" Warriors reached under Time's arms to lift him free, and Time was immediately clinging to him.
XXX
A curse? Was he cursed? Link cried into Warriors' neck. He knew Warriors, knew him from stern talks and warm mugs and being carried when he was too sleepy to walk. Warriors was safe. And he'd brought light with him! Link sniffled again, hands fisted in Warriors' scarf.
Warriors started to pat him down and check him over.
"Are you hurt? Are you okay? You've been gone hours, Time."
Link shook his head. But he didn't answer the second question, nor did he respond much to his name. Warriors found the small dip under Link's chin that meant that he was wearing a mask. Warriors frowned.
"Hey, can you look at me?"
Link looked up at him.
"Are you wearing a mask?" Link nodded slowly.
"Sprite, why? You've told me you don't like using those." Link jolted at the nickname and watched Warriors with wide eyes. 'Helps', Link signed, struggling to properly move his hands the way they should for the sign.
"Helps? With what?" Warriors only got a shrug as an answer.
XXX
Time shuffled to try and lay his head down on Warriors' shoulder, but Warriors gently held his head back up. Time was being so vague. He didn't seem to be fully there, his eyes distant. What could the Deku Mask help that Time couldn't do himself? Time didn't like using masks anymore, he'd said on multiple occasions.
"Can we take the mask off?" Warriors asked, moving his hand to try and get his fingers under it-
Time startled and pushed at his hand, making that same rattling noise he'd made earlier. 'Need it!' Time signed with emphasis, shaking his head.
"Time, c'mon. We've gotta get it off, so you can tell me what's going on."
Time made what was clearly some sort of whine and tried to hide his face in Warriors' neck. Warriors made a startled noise and tilted his head a little to make more space. "Is- is there a reason you can't take it off?" Time didn't answer that one, too busy clinging.
He was acting like a child, frightened and desperate. Warriors put a hand against Time's head, holding him close. "What's going on, Time? I'm just worried." Time made an unhappy noise at the name, and Warriors was sort of freaking out inside. He hadn't seen anything like this, where someone who was normally a functioning adult acted and sounded like a child-
Oh, wait. He had.
Back in the war, once things were starting to simmer down. The nightmares and flashbacks were terrible for many people. And Warriors had seen many a person cry and wail and ask for a parent. He had seen them draw and play in a safe tent. He had watched them seem at ease for the first time in a long time. He couldn't recall what Proxi had called it, but he knew it was some form of coping. Something to make them feel safe.
Time... maybe that's what Time was facing, now. The overwhelming feeling of being small and vulnerable again. These dark woods were no place for a child, whether only in mind or not.
"Alright, Link. I'm gonna need you to take off the mask for just a little while, okay? I've gotta talk to you and need to make sure you can talk back. It might hurt, and it might not make you feel great, but I've gotta check you over. Then, if you want, you can put it right back on."
Warriors softened his voice, hoping that he'd listen.
Time- Link. He could call him Link for now. Just in case.
Link sniffled and cried... and put his hands up to take off the mask. It came off quick, and as soon as it unlatched from Link's face it fell to the ground, and Warriors was met with wailing. He'd been right, the rattling sound had been an attempt at crying.
Now with an armful of a very heavy man, Warriors grunted a little and made to sit down. Link wound up in his lap, shaking and visibly trying to make himself small as he fisted a handful of Warriors' scarf.
"Hey, hey. Okay, see, wasn't so bad. I'm gonna check you over now, okay?" Warriors started gently moving Link's body to make sure that all the nicks that'd been in the Deku Scrub body had been scars and not cuts. Finding that that was the case, Warriors then gave him a hug.
"Alright, good. You're not hurt. Can you..."
Should he really ask this question, was this an invasive ask, would he be mad-
"Can you tell me how old you are? Or how old you feel?"
Warriors bit his lip, rocking Link gently back and forth, waiting for an answer. Link gave a wounded noise and shook his head, closing his eyes and pressing at them. Worth a shot.
"Okay, can you talk to me at all? Tell me why you were so far out here all alone?"
Link visibly tried to gather himself.
" 'S hard." He whispered, voice thick and upset. Link started crying a little harder, and Warriors was quick to console him.
"No, no, no, Sprite, it's okay. You don't have to talk if you can't. I can do without. Can you sign okay? Just give me a simple yes with your hands, if so." Link signed a shaky 'yes' and then moved to hide his face again.
"Okay, buddy. Do you think we can go home now?" Link shook his head, his tears soaking Wars' shoulder. "Why not?"
Link's hands were hard to read, as he shook and clung to Warriors. Warriors caught half-made signs of 'sleepy', 'scared', and 'can't'. He sighed and moved to rest his back against a tree.
"Alright, Link. We'll just sit here until you feel better, okay?"
#linked universe#fanfiction#linkeduniverse#angst#time lu#this was hard to get the nerve to post#I know there's people out there who don't like this and that's fine#age regression#but!#I'm a safe space for literally anything#I've seen and heard too much to not be accepting#just stay safe y'all#I did my best#I might make more if it's well received#also the title is a pun I hope you know

question as i’m a bit new to the bug fandom – is it common to focus mostly on dissecting paul’s most wacky statements & comments, or is this done with the other Beatles too. idk, it seems to really be the case with any of his interviews, but ive read interviews from George for example where he says some pretty weird things but haven’t been discussed here. really not with the same fervour as with paul’s comments? Is it because of the mclennon factor and trying to find hidden meanings behind his words? I just think they were all weird haha!
Anon, I just laughed reading this – not because you're wrong but it's always amusing to see stuff like this pointed out by newcomers.
Also welcome to the fandom!! :))
I think your observation is largely accurate and it comes down to multiple factors:
Paul is one of the two more famous Beatles
Paul is by far the most interviewed Beatle (both by virtue of being part of Lennon-McCartney and also having been alive [and in the public eye] for much longer than John)
In relation to the above-named factors, Paul is also the Beatle most preoccupied with the history of the band, I'd say. So you'll find a fair amount of Beatles "meta-commentary" from him.
This results in Paul off-the-bat being the most "covered" Beatle in terms of breadth of interviews. Now, add onto that:
Yes, people on tumblr are definitely favouring McLennon-tinged quotes over most other things in relation to the band
Paul, as opposed to John, is more popular on tumblr specifically (we had two polls last year showing Paul and George are pretty neck and neck in terms of being the favourite; they each took about a third, while John and Ringo shared the other third equally)
I feel like there used to be more coverage and commentary in that vain of John quotes, but given there's just less material there, covering a much shorter period, and the fact John's popularity is moderate on tumblr these days, it just isn't as much of a thing anymore.
With George, I can't say I've ever seen many people picking apart his quotes in that way, though you're right, he's said some weird stuff. (Lol, throwback to that time he expressed it would have been more meaningful if Elvis had killed John instead of a "nobody") Why specifically, I don't know. I think George fans are somewhat more hesitant to criticize him because they generally (and justifiably) don't feel he's been given his due so they don't always wanna be "that person".
Also, it serves the "John and Paul were absolutely, abnormally insane about each other" narrative a lot to paint George and Ringo out to be normies.

“Pamela Courson was no Yoko Ono. She never tried to put a wedge between Jim and the band. She never meddled in our creative process. I always thought she was good for Jim. Their relationship may have been tumultuous at times, but they never had any major fights when I was around. They made their own rules. It was clearly an open relationship since they were both seeing other people, and that incited trouble from time to time. But they genuinely seemed devoted to each other. A true couple. And even their unstable version of stability was better than Jim bouncing from girl to girl every night.
Pam used to date Arthur Lee from Love, who called her Yellow Tooth due to her discolored incisors. But her sweet looks outweighed her dental shortcomings enough that John hit on her at the London Fog before Jim ever did. Her squeaky voice and goofy demeanor made her appear sweet and innocent, but she was crazier than Jim in some ways, taking up with weird guys and doing heroin. To many men that would be a negative, but Jim had finally met someone who could walk on the edge right alongside him. Pam was too flighty and flaky to get into poetry or literature on the same level as Jim, but she was smarter than most people realized. Some people question whether she was calculating the cost-benefit of dating Jim in the name of a financially comfortable future. I can’t say that wasn’t a factor, but she still legitimately loved him. It was a complex coupling, to say the least. The bottom line is that she was weird, he was weird, and they were lucky they found each other to be weird with.
After Jim died, Pam returned to the States, exited the airport, got in a cab, and entered into a heroin-fueled fling with the driver, who happened to also be a drug dealer. I saw her only a few times after that. She was still the same Pam, but her silly side had been blunted by obvious and severe depression. She never wanted to talk much about what had happened in Paris, of course. The last time I ran into her was when Lynn and I met Ray and John and their wives for dinner up in Sausalito. Pam coincidentally walked into the same restaurant with another new boyfriend—who happened to look like a shorter, younger version of Jim. She sat with us for a few minutes and made chitchat but then excused herself to eat at a separate table.
There has always been speculation about whether Pam’s fatal overdose was accidental or intentional. I couldn’t possibly say. I just know she was sad. And one way or the other, the grief took her.”

Despite what my sister may think, I don't enjoy being a liar, so,
Here is the greatest manga that you've never heard of:
A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School (JP: Youkkai Gakkou No Sensei Hajimemashita)
So, I'm not one to make too many essays or go on and ramble about something online, however, this series is just not popular enough in my opinion.
(everything will be under the cut, don't wanna bother people! and warning, this is long.)
So, what is A Terrifed Teacher At Ghoul School?
Terrified Teach (what I shall be calling it) is a supernatural, slice of life, and comedy manga created by Mai Tanaka. The story revolves around a young man named Haruaki Abe who is a cowardly man obsessed with sailor uniforms (worry not! he really just likes the uniforms and admiring them).
He has dreams of being a teacher, however, at his first teaching job, he ran out withing a short amount of time. He took a year off from finding anymore jobs, until he's approached by the principal of a high school and is asked to be the new Japanese Literature Teacher. He accepts, and is soon whisked away to Hyakki Academy.
Something he doesn't realize is that Hyakki Academy is not a school for humans, rather it is a school for youkai, and features a wide range of youkai that attend and teach at the school. And while he starts working at the school, he also learned that he has anti-youkai powers that can siphon out a youkai's spirit energy.
He spends his time at Hyakki Academy trying to become more confident and hone his anti-youkai powers. He also manages to befriend many of his students and some of the teachers at the school.
I managed to make that description without any spoilers, everything I just explained (minus the befriending) is gone over in the first chapter.
Why are you advertising this manga?
I love this manga! And, there are three main reasons I love it:
The Characters and Relationships
The Arcs and Storylines
The Way Mai Tanaka Writes the Story
And so let's get into these reasons
The Characters and Relationships!
So, we start with probably the biggest factor to comedy and slice of life series, the characters and how they interact with each other.
When it comes to Haruaki, it took a while for anyone to become friendly with him or fond of him. The only people who seemingly got close with him quickly were Maizuka Mamekichi and Koutarou Hijita (though, Hijita was a dick to him at first).
Aside from Haruaki, our major characters include:
Sano Mikoto: A rather sadistic and secretive young man. He dislikes showing affection and tends to be embarrassed when complimenting Haruaki
Mamekichi Maizuka: A cheeky young ma who likes to be carried. He tries to seem very cute and innocent, however, he has a clear dark side, likely due to how his family is.
Hijita Koutarou: He is a lazy person, and dislikes doing any home/classwork. He always tries to find ways to look at girls, however is usually stopped.
Zashiki Beniko: A shut-in who has a way with technology. She likes playing video games and didn't go into class for a long period of time due to playing video games.
Tamao Akisame: A young man who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. However, with Haruaki's help, he tries to get better at his exams and his understanding of Japanese and literature.
Nyuudou Rensuke: A smart young man, also hides his past and family situation. He tends to be very kind and a bit of a mentor to his classmates, however, he can get angry and violent easily.
Utagawa Kuniko: A kind and sweet young woman. She is also smart, and works with Nyuudou to lead the class. She tries to aid typically the girls in the class in various things
Miki Rintarou: The youkai-studies teacher, and a terrible drunkard. He also hides his family situation and tends to keep himself far from other people.
Hatanaka Izuna: The spookology teacher and discipline teacher. He tries to keep a cool head, however, has a shorter and more explosive fuse than Nyuudou, due to him being a former delinquent.
The Prinicpal: The principal of the school, with a very secretive past. Most of the teachers are unsure why he decided to hire Haruaki in the first place, and has a dislike of some of his staff for destroying his school... various times.
And the list goes on with characters who aren't major throughout the series, but are important in certain arcs and parts.
When it comes to friendships, they tend to be between characters who have known each other for a while or have some sort of connection.
The friendships that the series starts with and develops are:
Sano - Mame: Sano is a person who adores small animals, and especially seems to like tanukis. Sano likes carrying around Mame and hates it whenever someone injures or insults him, being quick to anger.
Hijita - Beniko: Hijita and Beniko are childhood friends, and Hijita is the person who got Beniko into video games and he blames himself for her becoming a shut in.
Sano - Mame - Beniko - Hijita: They often hang out together on this off days. They also scheme together, though Sano tries to leave himself out of it and tries to pull Mame out of it too
Nyuudou - Tamao: They're best friends. Tamao initially wants to be Nyuudou's cat when they grow up, though, he knows Nyuudou would find this stupid.
Nyuudou - Utagawa: They're both the class representatives and have great chemistry when it comes to them working together.
Hatanaka - Haruaki - Miki: Hatanaka and Miki were friends in high school and they are also the only teachers who aren't afraid of Haruaki and his anti-youkai powers.
Tanaka does an incredible job at showing the relationships between the characters and developing the relationships, especially when it comes to Haruaki and his students, like Sano and Nyuudou. And the way she crafts the characters to fit so perfectly in the series and to make their actions and goals seem so believable and to make the reader wonder about what one character said in an early chapter and make a full arc/set of chapters surrounding it.
2. The Arcs and Storylines
I have had a debate about my sister as to what constitutes as an "arc" compared to "a set of chapters focused on something", so I shall be using my definition as an arc.
To say the exact amount of how many arcs there are would be impossible, but there are a few major ones, so, I'll say there about 5-7 arcs in this series, though, most are just in between/before the very major, plot heavy arcs.
And, like I said in the previous part, many arcs are callbacks to something a character had said in a previous chapter. Not only that, but these arcs and chapters and the characters that are important to the arcs change after them and it's noticeable and realistic.
Also, do not be fooled by the first few chapters of this series, as lighthearted and funny and sweet as they can be, this series will rip your heart out when it comes to some of the major arcs, especially later in the series.
She also makes the arcs make sense and sometimes when referencing back to some of the chapters, she even puts little notes as to which chapter she references to.
3. The Way Mai Tanaka Writes the Story
This was clear and obvious in the last part, but I adore the way Mai Tanaka writes the characters and the story.
When it comes to seeing character change like with Sano or Haruaki, when you re-read the series and see how they acted at the beginning compared to how they act in more recent chapters, there's a clear and obvious development in the way they act to their friends and how they think things through when it comes to different situation.
The way that she foreshadows future arcs is beautiful and it makes the reader think "Oh! I wonder what this means and what will happen here!" especially when you catch on to her foreshadowing and makes you wonder and wonder "What will happen here?!" and "Where will she go with this?!"
As a former BNHA fan and as someone who did this himself, I dislike it when things seem to made up on the fly. Of course, not everything in a series will be meticulously planned out for more authors and artists, that's a hard thing to do. It's not easy planning like 20-30 chapters in the future when you make a scene with some of your characters.
However, an author shouldn't just make things up on the fly for the majority of the series and draw it out longer than one might think it should. And Mai Tanaka does a good job at pacing her series, especially since it is a comedy and slice of life, which one can get away with making it a bit longer than usual than other types of genres, but even so, she made 38 chapters before hitting summer break with her characters. She has paced this story beautifully, and I am all here for it!
Now, I wrote this entire essay with my laptop at too low of health and I have not that much more to say, so I leave you all with this essay, and my suggestion:

how heavy is the workload per subject in your uni? in my country it's normal to take around 8 (+/-2) classes in college so it interests me what it's like in other places :0
this depends so much omg!!!! its actually kinda frustrating.
so here 4 courses is considered full time, 5 is standard and some people will take 6 though i dont hear of it often. (1 course usually = 3 credits and a bachelors degree here is 120 credits total for reference)
the workload can vary so heavily based on the subject, the course level, and the professor. ive had upper 300 level courses that were easier and/or less work than 100 levels (again for reference idk how college works everywhere, 100 level courses are supposed to be taken first year, 200 is second year, and so on).
those higher level courses were usually easier or had less work because of a more chill professor and their personal policies and teaching methods. i’ve also had quite a few 100 levels with professors that completely overload with info and require a lot of work & reading almost as if they forget it should be a foundational course.
subjects also seem to effect this. i have many stem major friends and it seems they often have much less free time due to long/late lab hours. those classes often seem to have both lecture and lab in two different sections (as in you have to register for both separately). or my art major friends that have to spend hours and hours outside of school as well as their own money on large projects for their classes.
another factor can also be whether the school runs on a semester or quarter system. im taking classes at 2 universities rn and my main uni is on semesters but my other uni is quarters. quarter classes arent worth as many credits and are shorter terms, so i can see it being possible to take more than the standard 5 for some people. for me as someone used to the semester system it feels very fast paced. my semester classes usually have one day per week that our work is due for that unit but my quarter classes have 2-3 days per week where different assignments are due within the same unit. because of that i have to study for that class nearly everyday where as i can kinda set one day to focus on each class in semesters.
sorry for the little rant this was an interesting question that id never thought about before !

Top: image from Folio 76r of Walters Ms. W.269, a Catholic Book of the Hours created in the mid-1400s for a woman named Collette. In this image, Collette herself is depicted praying to the Madonna and Child. Bottom: three different piles of identical books.
A growing field of scholarship is examining texts as materials and cultural objects. Scholars are thinking about how recorded texts appear in concrete forms — scrolls on parchment, bound codices on paper, magazines on cheap glossy paper. These scholars emphasize the ways in which technology and knowledge-transmission are intimately connected to one another. […] Broadly speaking, there are three interrelated factors that can explain the material form which the written word takes.
The materials and technology available to produce and distribute texts: People can only record written texts with the materials and technology available to them. For example, the invention of paper decreased the price of the written word and enabled more text to be available to more people, with wide cultural implications. Cheap ball point pens encourage things like jotted down note-to-self.
Economics and the market for knowledge and education: Who will pay for text, how will that money or those goods be moved from place to place, and who stands to earn a profit from creating and circulating those texts? In the middle-ages, for example, written texts were less common than today and much more expensive, but an individual patron had more leeway to individualize the written text, since he (or, occasionally, she) could order what he wanted from a scribe and artist. In contrast, book buyers today have greater and cheaper access to printed works, but the format is hardly individualized at all due to constraints of the mass market.
Cultural assumptions about what one does with words: Some texts are meant for slow study, others for quick reading, and still others for long-term storage or record keeping. The material form that the text takes will depend on cultural expectations about what will be done with words once committed to writing. A receipt from a cash register -generally to be thrown away or at most saved briefly- will appear in a material form different from a university-course textbook, with an expectation (not always fulfilled) that students will read carefully and prepare for papers and exams. A newspaper takes on a material form different from a non-fiction book, even when reporting on the same topic, due to different assumptions about how the reader will treat those printed words.
Mass-market newspapers are a fine example. Cheaper paper in the nineteenth century and advances in print technology that lowered prices enabled mass-market newspapers and made it possible to imagine large quantities of disposable written materials. Technological changes in shipping and distribution of both words and knowledge, such as the telegraph and the railroad, helped knowledge about current events reach further more quickly, so reporters could produce texts and distribute them quickly to a far-flung audience. The spread of literacy helped create a large population of consumers, which made the newspaper a potentially profitable commodity to produce. Shorter articles scattered on a page with large-print headlines, as well as illustrations, and later photographs, enabled consumers to learn about many diverse topics and to take in as much detail as they felt like they had time for.

Are Jaehyun k fans more like visual stans or shippers because why despite being the most popular and promoting he didn't charts as one would expect? Or do you think him singing mostly in English affected his kfanbase?
K-pop artists don't chart high on k-pop chart usually, though? Isn't it so? It takes a whole group's fandom's effort to make a k-pop act go up for some time.
Jaehyun charted as was expected. He did well on Spotify, his MV got more views, but he wasn't high on Korean charts. RnB isn't a popular genre, he is an idol, k-pop is niche in SK. Doyoung charted so high because gp discovered and listened to him. All his songs were in popular genres currently (band music is actually on the rise, Day6 and Lucy are doing very well) and in Korean.
Personally, I expected Jae's songs to spread further in k-pop fandom. His MVs get more views. However, it should have little to do with kfans.
Look at "The story" MV's views. The single is not promoted on music shows, so fans don't stream. As a result, the MV didn't reach even 500k views. Individual neos look bigger to us than they really are.
If you mean to say that Doyoung's kfans streamed better than Jaehyun's kfans (supportive vocal-fans vs lazy visual-fans), we have no data on it, so how can we make statements? For example, I can say that Do attracted gp because of so many of his songs being played in the city, him getting new fans because of his solo (and those new fans leaving comments under MVS on YT), 17 charting high (not a song to stream as it wasn't promoted on music shows), journalists discovering him, radio-stations playing him. Sure, I can't know how much gp influenced the charting, however, this factor played a role. Additionally, Jaehyun's promotional period was shorter, so, like with The story, his fans could have had less motivation to stream on Melon and Genie to get the points for music shows (there was no more point in it).
Or take the siatuation with Karina and Winter's solos. All 4 aespa members released their solo songs the same day. Both K and W are IT girls in SK. However, only Karina's "Up" skyrocketed. Not because of her kfans streaming aptitude (otherwise Winter shouldn't have ended up far behind), but because the song became viral with gp.
Lastly, if you meant to say that Jaehyun is a popular member in SK due to his visuals, but is less known for his vocals, so people weren't tuned in to the news about the release of his album - that well could be the case. However, then we are talking about his perceived popularity (how well k-pop fans recognise his face, mention him on socmed), but not his core fans (those who stan him and follow his every move, buy merch to support). It is possible Jaehyun has less Korean core fans than Doyoung has (and the opposite story with ifans).

Imagine hyperfixating on a movie trailer that's just came out so hard that you proceed to make an OC for it already
Everyone, this is my beautiful shithead son,,,
Ward Feelfhillip!!!
(aka. "The Shore Lunatic" among normal townsfolks)
Lore time!!!
Ward is the fisherman within the shores of the town, however doesn't seem to have his deliveries in markets actually sell well, like, at all, due to the fact of them being mostly delivered late and thus all of them becoming rotten overtime. In the town he is mostly acclaimed for constantly rambling about marinebiology and mythical creatures when he's around anywhere, and he is rarely if at all seen in public. At home he spends his time eating canned food and trying to analyze everything in history and within books, including the internet, inorder to make out a full coherent and correct chart about a certain mythos he's been long searching for: "Sea-monsters."
You see, when he was just a wee lad (about like 20+ years ago, so in like the 1990s), this little idiot thought it would be a great idea to sail out onto the ocean by himself inorder to prove that a 8 year old can very much sail the entire earth shorter than 80 days. However, he didn't know that going out to sea without checking the weather and only a backpack of Hubba Hubbas, Reese's Peices and like a few crackers wouldn't be as much of a great idea. So he ended up 15 miles away from the beach, in the middle of heavy rain, while also being taken around by the tides. While being absolutely terrified and panicking over his life, He soon caught up to the sight of an over 50 ft tall beast...making the waters glow in a horrid green light, with a soulpiercing stare, and a form so horrid that no one could've had thought of it...It was human, yet, at the same time, not at all...it was the last thing he saw before getting unconscious by the tide...
He woke up eventually on the shore surrounded by the townspeople, all whom had found him there shortly after the next day, albeit mostly injured. Everyone in the town, including his parents, were infact, very pissed about him, due to him causing a searchparty from being missing. This eventually caused him to never get respected at all anytime at all during any ocassion, due to how many believed he would just cause problems for everyone like he did the last time (and both his parents believed this aswell). This was another major factor to why he got ostracized (other than being bullied by the incident).
Now, this would be the part where your TV tropes brain would believe the reason why he's searching for the sea-monsters is to capture/kill them or something (like maybe prove to people that they exist), but just so you know, this is the same guy who brought candy with them on a boat. The actual main reason why he wants to search for them, mainly the one he saw when he was younger, is because he believes that by seeing a sea-monster during a life-threatening situation, he has gained more greater knowledge than anyone else in the world did, and not only that, but in someway, he too himself had became a monster of somesorts. And his main goal is to find these creatures, and finally figure out how to actually be a wise, smart and a mythical creature correctly. What does this actually correlate to internally?
...Homie hyperfixates on fishes so hard that he just wants to rather be praised by them than be praised by humans. (He's the literal definition of Uncomfort the comfortable and comfort the uncomfortable) (I'll make a part 2 explaining the silly fun facts about this mess of a man)

Treias Lineages: Elves

The Elves of Treias are as vastly varied as humans, with the only constants being pointed ears and a stronger connection to magic.
Elves of all kind are second only to certain fae in terms of magical ability, and are not themselves considered fae but possibly fae adjacent/descendant.
Their natural ties to magic energy means most are born with innate ability, usually aligned with one or two of the primary elements (fire, water, earth, air), and possibly secondary elements that bridge between them (lightning, plant, ice, etc).
Occasionally, an elf's ability may align with supernatural elements (light, healing, darkness, shadow, mind, physicality) that are usually associated with otherworldly beings. It's theorized these abilities come from fae ancestry and the types of relations fae had with others.
It's rare for any elf to be able to manipulate more than 2 elements naturally (not counting dark elves, that's a different thread), though they may later learn as many as their individual capacity and drive allows. Even more rare, but possible, is an elf born magically inert.
As a whole, elves make up largest population by race in the world. They live 300-400 years on average, their lifespans longer than humans but shorter than dwarves.
There are many different beliefs among elves on anything from their origins to their appearances to their connections to nature, but some of the most common are these:
1. An elf with longer ears and/or less body hair is closer, genetically, to their probable fae ancestors.
2. Elves have been around much longer than most other sapient races, excluding fae races.
3. While much of who and what they are has a very probable connection to fae ancestry, they are not themselves actually fae.
There's legend of the first elves springing forth from something-probably-fae as opposed to a natural evolution line. Actual evidence has ancient elven remains that date back much farther than most other sapient races.
While not universal, common perception of elves from a non-elven perspective is that they can be a bit self righteous as a people. They make up a majority of the world's political leaders, and a good chunk of important religious leaders. A lot of their moral doctrine comes from a belief in The Four (actual name for them varies around the world) and the balance of elements that each of the four represents. Depending on location, there's a lot of different meanings but a mostly universal respect for The Four.
Like with dwarves and humans, Elvish Trade language makes up some part of Universal Trade Common. Though their contribution isn't the biggest factor (compared to dwarves), they tend to hold pride in the fact that most of the world relies on some aspect of elvish culture in some way.
Additional information:
It's a common practice for transgender elves to choose a name that is a palindrome. While the parameters for transness are a bit different due to elven understanding of gender, there are still those that do change from what is typically assigned at birth.
Even so, they are openly accepted in every known elven culture, and the palindrome naming convention was something that just became popular among trans elves.
Examples: Irori, Massam, Kenek, Lakokal, Jasaj.
Extra notes:
Elves were my first fantasy obsession before orcs, and I've spent a LOT of time just thinking about the different elvish cultures around the world and what makes theirs uniquely elvish where geographical locations and customs parallel those of Earth among all the various lineages that coexist in Treias.

Cryas Darkstalkers Cast Bits 3
I figured for this one, I'd make it a bit shorter to talk about some individuals who have some big influence on aspects of Makai. They aren't in the primary role of characters, but they still are quite important to either world building or to some characters.
Belial Aensland:
Look, the lore makes him out to be this like omnipotent individual. Make no mistake, he is still a powerful individual in Cryas Darkstalkers, but he is more so specialized in certain aspects rather than being omnipotent in everything.
He still is quite the large demon. In a way, he is like a titan golem.
Due to the nature of his towering size and obsidian like body, he is physically strong and durable.
Magic wise, he has the ability to open the Gate with ease.
Belial also has a powerful spell known as Scalephoton. In essence, he concentrates raw energy into a projectile of varying size and intensity and fires it at blinding speed. He has perfected this spell to potentially catastrophic proportions.
The greatest extent of his magical abilities is the ability to bend spacetime in order to create portals to Earth or areas beyond the nexus.
Despite these traits, he is not invincible. While Demitri in the end didn't stand a chance, he still managed some good hits on the titan. Galnan, one who at one point had greater magical potential than Belial, would not challenge Belial's rule despite his dislike of the House of Aensland. While Jedah has a godly healing factor and the potential to overpower Belial if he can absorb enough souls, the amount needed would make it easily noticeable before he could even make 25% of his goal. In essence, with the exception of Demitri, all nobles see challenging Belial as tantamount to suicide.
He still has the general idea from the main lore of viewing Makai as an extension of his own body. He chooses not to be a proactive, iron fist ruler of the realm. Merely, he seeks to let things be, only intervening if things get out of hand with others trying to incite major disruptions.
Till his death, he wears the Ring of Isis. It plays a bigger role in Cryas Darkstalkers.
The reason for him dying is not because of his battle with Demitri or sending that onion head and his castle to Earth. It was because of the third Soul Shard he kept within himself.
Due to the bizarre nature of Morrigan's Soul, the Soul Shard did not sit well with staying in Belial. But he used his powers to keep it contained in him as he believed this one was safest in him while the other was in a special pocket dimension. However, the Soul Shard would fight back, effectively poisoning the Ruler of Makai.
Belial raised Morrigan with the same amount of attention that he had with ruling Makai. He only really intervenes if things get out of hand with her. He merely keeps her around to ensure the House of Aensland would have a new ruler.
The only people he converses with in regard to secret matters are his servants Mudo and Lucien. Those two demons have been loyal to the House of Aensland since sometime shortly before Belial became Ruler of Makai.
While he will punish Mudo and Lucien if they fail a task he ordered, he never threatens them with death or severe pain. Merely a minor punishment that is basically a slap on the wrist.
Zeruru Aensland:
Oh boy, since there is hardly anything about him beyond his name and being the first Ruler of Makai, I got my work cut out. However, there is quite a lot of important aspects about him in Cryas Darkstalkers in regard to the history of Makai.
2 million years ago, current records state that was the general time period when the current systems were set in place for society for generations to come. Under Zeruru's leadership, he and the nobles set up the general structure of society and rule that would be held for eons. However, there is more to this.
Before all of this, Zeruru Aensland was merely the ruler of a large tribe of many races, but primarily succubus and incubus. While the succubus and incubus were the original members of the Aensland Tribe, others were forced in through conquest or some via ensuring loyalty.
Once the discovery of souls and empowerment via the absorption of souls was discovered, Zeruru was the most vigorous among the leaders to hunt down the Sahrijinn as they had the most power.
While the Sahrijinn were able to mostly escape Makai, they couldn't take all their possessions. Chief among them was the Ring of Isis.
The Ring of Isis showed Zeruru visions of the nature of Makai as it did the Sahrijinn. However, this knowledge was ignored as heeding it would not allow for the quick acquisition of power that many sought from consuming souls.
After the foundation of society in Makai was formed, Zeruru would keep the Ring of Isis and repurpose it. It was to show the sign of those who would rule Makai as the Overlord.
Upon his death, his soul was absorbed by the ring. Future Aenslands who donned the ring would be unknowingly influenced by Zeruru's desire to keep the Aenslands in power and to adhere to his desires and will.
The nature and origins of Makai were kept hidden, only possible to be known in the realm of Inkai. However, that realm's nexus point has alluded the nobles for eons.
In time, the Sahrijinn were forgotten by many over the many millennia. All thanks to Zeruru.
Mudo and Lucien:
Loyal servants of the House of Aensland.
They were in the servitude of the father of Belial. Upon the proclamation of Belial's father, they were to serve Belial.
Despite their roles as servants and generally placid natures, these two are quite powerful demons.
They are not related by blood, but the two are inseparable.
They were the ones to proactively raise Morrigan since she was a baby. Despite her rather aloof nature, she genuinely cares for Mudo and Lucien as they are basically father figures to her. Plus, they understand her nature.
They handle the affairs of Castle Aensland. Ensuring all the other servants perform their tasks from guard duty, housekeeping, and meal prep.
During Morrigan's reign as Ruler of Makai, these two would also take to handling the political affairs while Morrigan was away. When she does return to rest, they are able to coerce to perform her duties, which she will do till she is bored and leaves again.
Galnan Voshtal:
Head of the Noble House of Voshtal.
Regarded as not only quite intelligent, but also cruel and callous. Even his own family are not safe from his cruelty.
Late in his life, he had somehow stumbled upon the nexus point of Inkai far from the general Makaiin populace. Having access to a wealth of knowledge and souls, Galnan would keep this realm hidden from others.
In discovering Inkai, he also discovered the Inkai Beasts. Among the group of strange creatures was one who called themselves Ozom. He would come to serve under Voshtal for some time, acting as both a guide and interpreter of the Inkai Beasts.
Galnan's power was able to rival that of Belial. While he heavily desired to rule all of Makai, making his disdain of Belial known, he would not lift finger against him. Despite his great power, he was still dwarfed by the golem titan. Not only that, while Galnan knew more spells than Belial, whatever Belial had was enough to fatally wound the head of Voshtal.
While Voshtal at least acknowledged the intellect of Jedah, he found him to be nothing more than a childish whiner.
Voshtal's family despised him due to his blatant abusive behavior.
Even though he was several thousands of years old, his health slowly diminished till he died.
Ozom:
Ozom is originally from the Realm of Inkai. He is an Inkai Beast.
Unlike many of the beast there, Ozom is one of the most evolved Inkai Beasts with far more complex abilities to think.
He has the ability to control the Inkai Beast's nervous systems to make them bend to his will.
While not necessarily powerful, one of his most potent abilities is his ability to plan and manipulate individuals. He has an excellent sense of charisma and is excellent at stringing people along in conversation.
In a sense, Ozom is a full-blown sociopath.
Ozom was the one to orchestrate the death of Galnan. During servitude to Galnan, he found out how the Voshtal family loathed the patriarch.
In collaboration with the family of Voshtal, they would slowly poison Galnan. In return, they would gain control of the House and allow Ozom to consume the soul of Galnan.
In consuming Galnan's soul, his manipulative nature was amplified as was his desire for more power.
He would come to serve Jedah, with the full intent of controlling the House of Dohma. Jedah had no living family.
His charm worked on Jedah, but he wasn't able to fully fool Jedah's other closest confidant, Sierra De Gilman. Still, he took his time to not arouse suspicion.
Once he managed to kill Jedah in Inkai, he would come to control the House of Dohma. While Sierra was suspicious, nothing would be done as she was aware of how Belial worked.
Ozom would relish his time as the Head of Dohma. While he still kept to keeping to affairs regarding the lands and political affairs, he was a detriment to those in the lands of Dohma.
His actions and hunger nearly caused the extinction of the Soul Bees. However, he kept them around still as their honey was a valued export.
Taking in Zabel as his servant on Earth was merely a way for him satiate his hunger for souls as he had to make sure the Soul Bees were kept alive.
While he had plans to also kill Belial and take control of Makai, his ultimate goal, that would never come to be.
Though he was able to kill Jedah, he didn't know that the Shinigami individual was able to resurrect.
Helpless in Makai, he was killed easily by the silent, yet enraged Jedah.
Despite feigning enthusiasm for Jedah's philosophical and political ideology, he did find a genuine love for music.
I likely will try to redesign Ozom in some fashion.
Sierra Del Gilman:
Head of the Noble House of Gilman, her intellect is capable of rivaling that of Galnan.
Since she is only really named and has some description of her in the lore guide, I have full liberty regarding her design.
I will be going for some form of owl demon design to coalesce with her intellect. On top of that, will also look towards influence from Fecto Elfilis.
Magic wise, she knows all sorts of spells.
She is a close friend of Jedah Dohma. The two both agree on how the affairs of Makai are not ideal as it will lead to ruin overtime. Factors like Belial's general passive rule, the stagnant nature of society, and how the lands have slowly over millennia gotten slowly more hostile over time based on records.
She has made an effort to collect any historical records regarding Makai and from whatever can be obtained from Earth.
Due to her collection of knowledge of things from Earth, she caught the attention of the heir of Aensland, Morrigan.
Despite how different both are, Sierra and Morrigan managed to forge a friendship. This friendship would ignite a flame in Morrigan in fueling her desire to visit Earth for thrills and pleasure.
Not only would she bring souvenirs for Sierra, but she would ramble about what she did and found there.
She is well acquainted with Mudo and Lucien. They engage in civil and friendly chats.
Sierra was once called to Belial. He made it clear he is not happy with Morrigan's bouts to Earth and is aware her friendship with Sierra is the start of this. However, he makes doesn't punish Sierra for this but makes it clear that if Morrigan is killed on Earth, Sierra will have to answer to him.
While Ozom was in rule of the House of Dohma, she made efforts to help those in the land of Dohma, especially the Soul Bees when things were getting bad for them.
She is capable of flying of her own accord. However, she also can float and fly via magic.
She chooses to adhere to her power via treaties and discussions with others rather than general warfare. However, she still assures her armies are well trained in magic.
She has the power to open the Gate.
That should do it for now. Hope you enjoy this Makai addition to lore! As always, feel free to ask questions if you are curious. Till next time!😎✌️

Hi! I know this is a funny and cute post but I’ve worked in cheetah conservation (with both wild and captive cheetahs) and saying that cheetahs are bad at being wild animals and we should just domesticate them is a viewpoint that could be harmful to conservation efforts so I wanted to say some things:
Companion dogs: Using companion dogs as evidence that cheetahs do best in captivity is incorrect. Cheetahs often use companion dogs because their lives in captivity makes them stressed. Do you ever see wild cheetahs with companion animals? No, because they are less stressed in the wild and therefore don’t need one. Most adult cheetahs are also solitary animals (with some exceptions in the form of small male bachelor groups) so to say they get too stressed when alone is also incorrect.
Cheetah brith rates: Yes, they’re low in the wild. That’s a concern for conservation for sure. But do you know where cheetah birth rates are even lower? In captivity! Cheetahs are notoriously difficult to breed and even when breeding is successful they have high infant mortality, presumably in part due to the stress of being captive.
Cheetah cub raising: Mom not protecting her cubs makes perfect sense if you think about it. In the face of a predator you can choose fight or flight. Cheetahs are pretty bad at fighting and are famously able to run fast, so fleeing is the best option for mom’s survival. Why is mom’s survival important? Because she’s at breeding age and can make more cubs, while there’s no guarantee her cubs will make it to breeding age and breed successfully. I know it sounds harsh and it’s not how humans do it but that doesn’t mean it’s not a valid survival strategy.
Low survival in the wild: So this is mostly on us, unfortunately. As we start developing more land we cut off their territories which means less resources for them and less mating choices. This leads to genetic bottleneck (beyond the scope of this post but if you’re interested I’ll certainly explain it) which leads to higher rates of mutations. Also, many cheetahs are getting killed by local farmers who are trying to protect their livestock from the local predators. These are complex issues that lots of experts have been working on for years, but the solution is NOT to take cheetahs out of the wild.
People used to keep them as pets: Why do you think they stopped? Despite looking lazy for 23 hours of the day, they use that last hour sprinting at speeds that we can’t really support in captivity. Even those dog hunting lures don’t go fast enough. If cheetahs can’t get their energy out running, they get stressed and stop reproducing and start dying.
Captive cheetahs don’t kill humans: This is a stats thing. There are about 89.7 million pet dogs in the US. It’s not unusual for the average American to come across a dog once a week, even if they don’t own one. Every encounter with a dog has the chance to break bad, which means there are billions of chances for an American to get killed by a domestic dog each day. Even if you factor in the fact that the probability of a dog attacking you is really really low, if you shuffle a deck of cards enough times eventually you’ll put them back in order. There are only a few hundred captive cheetahs in the world, and unless you’re a zookeeper at a zoo that houses one, your typical human isn’t coming in contact with them with any sort of frequency. Also, zookeepers are trained professionals who have protocols that keep them safe while the average dog owner doesn’t even bother to keep their dog leashed in public areas (again, another post). If cheetahs became a widespread pet we would probably see deaths from them increase because while they’re so “cute” they’re also capable of hunting and killing wild game.
Don’t believe me? At the institution I worked, they didn’t let any volunteers shorter than 5’2” near the cheetah cages. Why? Short humans look snack sized and our cheetahs would start stalking them. And these were adults who knew how to behave calmly around wild animals. Imagine how a kid who moves unpredictably could trigger a cheetahs prey drive.
Anyways, I know cheetah=friend shape is fun and it’s cool to imagine having a big cat as a pet, but the illegal pet trade is actively contributing to the wild cheetah population decline and I would hate for people to be unknowingly supporting that. No hate to the people above me or anyone reblogging this; the desire to domesticate things that are cute is very common and often stems from a lack of education.
(And if it’s any consolation, their fur isn’t actually that soft!)
Imagine hearing this behind the bush and you thought its a cat 💀💀
#anyways whenever you see a typically wild animal as a pet#please stop and ask yourself if that animal looks happy#if their natural behaviors can be easily supported by their owners#and if they’re being kept in a way that’s safe for humans and animals#usually the answer to at least one of those is no

Choosing Between Partial vs. Total Knee Replacement Surgery in Delhi: Expert Guide
Knee pain, whether from injury or arthritis, can significantly impact your quality of life. Many people consider knee replacement when non-surgical treatments fail to provide relief. But then comes the challenge of deciding between partial or total knee replacement surgery in Delhi.
The decision depends on various factors, including the extent of damage to your knee, age of the patient, activity level, and overall health. Both procedures have their advantages, and understanding the differences between partial knee replacement (PKR) and total knee replacement (TKR) will help you make an informed decision.
What is Partial Knee Replacement (PKR)?
A partial knee replacement is a procedure where only one side of the knee joint is replaced. This surgery is an excellent option for patients who have damage confined to a specific part of the knee while the other portions remain healthy. Apartial knee replacement addresses the damaged area only without replacing the entire joint.
What Are the Advantages of Partial Knee Replacement?
1. Preservation of healthy tissue
2. Faster recovery
3. More natural knee movement
Who Qualifies for Partial Knee Replacement?
Historically, only 5-10% of patients were considered candidates for partial knee replacements, as the procedure is more technically challenging for surgeons. But advancements in robotic-assisted surgeries and improved surgical instruments have made the procedure more precise and eligible. Today, approximately 25% of patients with knee pain may be suitable candidates for partial knee replacement.
Who Is Not Eligible for a Partial Knee Replacement?
Patients with the following conditions are generally not eligible for a partial knee replacement:
1. Severe arthritis on both sides of the knee
2. Significant bow-leggedness or knee deformity
3. Severely limited mobility
What is Total Knee Replacement (TKR)?
This is a more comprehensive procedure in which the entire knee joint is replaced. The total knee replacement surgeryis recommended for individuals whose knee joints are damaged in multiple compartments or whose conditions cannot be effectively treated with a partial replacement.
What Are the Advantages of Total Knee Replacement?
Since all parts of the knee are replaced, there is less chance of future arthritis developing in the untreated sections of the knee.
Full knee replacements generally have lower revision rates than partials, as all areas of the joint are replaced, reducing the likelihood of wear and tear in untreated sections.
What is the Ideal Age for Partial vs. Full Knee Replacement?
Previously, younger and more active individuals were advised for total knee replacements due to concerns over longevity and the risk of revision surgeries. However, with advancements, younger patients can now benefit from knee replacements, especially partial knee replacements.
How Long Do Partial vs.Total Knee Replacements Last?
The longevity of both partial and total knee replacements can vary depending on factors such as the patient’s age, activity level, and overall health. Some studies show that both types of surgery have similar long-term success rates. However, total knee replacements have a lower rate of revision surgeries due to the complete replacement of the joint.
What Is the Recovery Period for a Partial vs. Total Knee Replacement?
One of the most significant advantages of partial knee replacement surgery is the shorter recovery period. Since the procedure is less invasive and preserves more of the knee’s natural structure, patients often experience:
1. Less pain and swelling
2. Faster recovery
3. Smaller incision
Recovery from total knee replacement surgery can take anywhere from 2 to 3 months. Whereas the timeline for partial knee replacements is generally faster.
Why Choose Partial or Total Knee Replacement in Delhi?
Whether you opt for a partial or total knee replacement depends on your specific situation. Both surgeries offer long-lasting relief from knee pain and the ability to return to an active lifestyle. The most important is working with an experienced Joint Replacement Surgeon in Delhi who can help you determine the best option based on your individual needs.
