What's your opinion on Tankie? I think he's kinda funny and cute
Ohoho THIS is gonna be a long one, strap in!
Well, my opinion on Commie is mostly negative. I HATE this guy, but it's like a passionate hate, the kind that if he were gone, things would feel empty, because he's my favorite guy to despise.
I tend to make him worse in my HCs than he is in the show, even though he's already not great either. I think part of my dislike for him also stems from them fact that he's held up in the fandom as a good guy, when he really isn't, seeing how he's blatantly disrespectful to trans/non-binary people, and would discriminate against minorities if they didn't do as he said.
Nevermind the fact that he's a tyrant and denies the holodomor, which he caused, and also brushed off Nazi's holocaust denial. Also he runs gulags, which are basically just concentration camps & slave labor, but people seem to be mysteriously brushing over that if it's commies who do it. It's a joke then.
People have told me before that the reason they like him is because he's just desperate for a family and community, but personally, that makes me like him less.
How people can ship Leftist Unity is beyond me, when Commie repeatedly disrespects Ancom and later Ansyn. He doesn't give a shit about trans people, misgendering them simply because he can. Also, we all know damn well Commie will kill Ancom the second he doesn't need quem anymore.
I think some of it also stems from me being agender myself. I generally really hate how Ancom/Ansyn's queerness was handled in the show since no one respects quis pronouns ever, and it's more played as a joke than anything.
Fuck even the fandom doesn't respect quis pronouns at times.
People prolly think that it's not that big a deal, but for me who is incredibly protective of the self and their individual identity, disrespecting someone else's to integrate them into your homogeneous view of things is so repulsive and disgusting; it's not nessecarily the act of misgendering, even though that is bad too, but the complete disregard for individuality and identity.
I read Commie as abusive, but I've gathered that some people in the fandom really don't like that lol, I got to add onto my tally of "people online told me to kms" over it. But yes, generally I picture Commie as someone who actively infantilise Ancom and makes quem adopt this uwu uwu personality we see so often, to take away quis teeth, make them submissive, follow him around and make quem less likely to stand up for quemself against him.
There's more of course but, my personal headcanons are besides the point.
I do also use this guy to project my own personal experiences and trauma onto sooo, he has become kind of an amalgamation and caricature of my abusers.
I don't know, basically everything about Commie is so repulsive to me. I can basically only tolerate him with Nazi because they're both tyrannical scum and deserve each other.
I'm pretty big on freedom & individualism so that probably also doesn't help his case in my brain 😭
People can like Commie ofc, you can love and adore characters that are pieces of shit; I'd know so since Ancap is my second favorite character only surpassed by Ancom, but you know, I know what it's like to love a character who is fucking awful.
I guess I just wish people would acknowledge Commie's shitty behaviour more often instead of treating him like this big friendly harmless guy.
But yeah, people can do whatever they want of course, that's just my thoughts about it! :3

@lynettethemadscientist There are some raider groups, like James Wire's former Minutemen, who are written in a way that's nuanced and humanizing, and there are some raider groups, like the Jackals in New Vegas or a lot of the random raiders in the East Coast games that don't get that treatment and are portrayed as flat, static villains. I prefer the former, and I would like to see more of that.
That said, I disagree that writing being realistic means that it must be good. It can be unrealistic and good; it can be realistic and bad. I never said simple motivations are unrealistic. Actually, I agreed that there are plenty of people who have no scruples against harming others for personal gain, but I think most people don't think of themselves as bad people. Most people find find ways to justify those actions, and when it comes to storytelling, those are the characters that I find more compelling.
As far as whether nuance matters in fiction... we're just going to fundamentally disagree. Stories, fictional or not, help us develop compassion, empathy, and emotional intelligence. What we learn from empathizing even with fictional characters we bring into our interactions in the real world. ( @shouldastayedcourier8 's points about how the portrayal of raiders ties into the war on drugs and society's views of addicts is relevant. The U.S. prison system is bloated with nonviolent drug offenders—would that change if our media didn't consistently reinforce the idea that addicts are dangerous/unprincipled?)
Even in the case of violent criminals, I think the reasons matter very much. How can we address the systemic issues that lead people into lives of crime if we refuse to acknowledge those causal relationships?
(At this point, I do want to make it clear that I responded initially intending to clarify my point of view for those who hadn't considered it, not to convince you specifically that I'm right. If you sincerely want to understand where I'm coming from, we can keep the discussion going, but otherwise, we'll just have to disagree.)

Writing Strong Female Characters
I was inspired to write this after reading @bibliophilesince2003's post on writing strong female characters (which I completely agree with). I will avoid simply parroting what they said there, as it is an excellent post and you should read it on its own merits.
Instead, I'll focus on some slightly different elements of writing female characters who are interesting but not, you know, misogynistic and annoying.
Here are the main points we will be discussing:
Trauma is not a stand-in for a personality.
Strong does not always mean argumentative and/or stoic.
Strong female characters do not necessarily have to be warriors or powerful leaders.
Expertise can make strength.
Even tough characters have moments of weakness.
Being emotional does not negate strength.
Give each strong female character a secret goal that gets in the way.
As usual, this is my opinion, I'm not the absolute source of writing information, you're free to disagree, etc etc. Okay. Let's go.
What do I mean by "strong female character?"
When I say "strong female character," I do not necessarily mean warrior badass. Instead, I'm talking about female characters who can hold a narrative on their own; who are not mere background pieces for a man, but who are fully-fledged and interesting people on their own.
These are characters that we love and think about fondly, no matter what genre they come from. They are not simple walking tropes, but interesting individuals who we want to understand and explore across a series.
Trauma is not a stand-in for personality.
This happens with male characters too, but it seems to be an absolute curse when it comes to female characters. A lot of writers think that we'll magically know a character is ~tough~ and ~resilient~ by telling us that they were abused as a child or having them be sexually assaulted on the page.
In all reality, trauma can blunt your personality. A lot (but not all) of people who were abused, especially as children, become numb and quiet and withdrawn. They lose personality, not gain it. There are so many people who just walk around in a daze because they haven't processed their trauma, and it makes them less interesting as characters because ... they're not feeling or doing anything. (Again, not all, but some, or even many.)
I recently started a book that I gave up on because the author literally did a flashback just to show the female character being raped. Like, that was supposed to really do something for us. It was supposed to show us her character or something. Well, it didn't do anything but tell me that the author really wanted to write a rape scene. How am I supposed to take you, or the character, or the book seriously if you have to shove my face in it like "LOOK! There's her personality!! Traumatized girl!! Feel bad for her!"
Some of the best books I have read with female characters who have gone through trauma don't show it. Like at all. We feel their pain as aftershocks; we know it happened; but we're seeing them for themselves, not for the horrible things that happened to them. This way, we understand how it informed their personality, but the trauma itself is not serving as the personality. It is serving as an explanation for why they are the way they are.
This takes more work, yes, but that's the point: you can't just lean on the trauma as a crutch. You have to create a personality and then twist it, or at least color it with what happened to them.
You're totally free to give your character trauma. You're free to discuss uncomfortable topics; in fact, if you're comfortable with doing so, you should, in order to give better awareness to the topic. But you have to ask yourself if it's actually necessary to show us the blood and guts on-page. Does it really do much for the character development to grab your reader by the face and make them watch?
My typical ethos (and again this is just my opinion) is that past character trauma does not need to be shown in flashbacks, but current character trauma can certainly happen on-page if you feel it's necessary. This is especially true if we have already come to like the character; then we feel bad for them and we know they already have a personality.
If you're going into flashbacks to show us fucked-up things that don't necessarily have anything to do with the current plot, maybe you should ask yourself why you want to do that.
Strong does not always mean argumentative and/or stoic.
One of my very favorite female characters I have ever written, Asari, is the gentlest, sweetest lady ever. I don't think I ever had her yell at anyone during the time that I wrote her, even in the worst situations.
She isn't stoic, nor is she bold and brash; her strength comes from her calm. Asari exudes this commanding energy without raising her voice, nor does she hide her feelings.
In the same vein, one of my favorite female characters is Marta Cabrera from Knives Out. Why do I like her and consider her a strong female character? Because she's nice but not a pushover. She's excellent at her job (something I'll discuss in a minute) and genuinely cares about people, and that's why she prevails.
Marta does the right thing even when it would screw her over; yes, she fucks up and gets scared sometimes, but when it matters most, she follows her heart.
Kindness and softness can be its own kind of power, even if it's not necessarily a cool and flashy kind. There are many different kinds of strength, even if we generally only see certain kinds depicted in media.
It takes strength to be kind in this cruel, fucked-up world. Stoic unemotional people are taking the easy way out by numbing their feelings and refusing to connect with others, and it makes them feel flat and uninteresting. The most interesting female characters are those that truly, deeply care about others.
You can make an interesting, complex, and enjoyable female character that people want to root for without making them loudmouth badasses.
Strong female characters do not necessarily need to be warriors or powerful leaders.
This should be a given but, for some reason, it does not always seem to be the case. Someone thinks "strong female character" and immediately goes "give that lady a sword!"
Sure, you can give the lady a sword. I'm always for beautiful women with swords. But this doesn't automatically make them a strong female character.
In fact, a lot of the time, Girl With Sword just comes across as a different type of substitution: brute force replaces personality rather than trauma. Someone assumes that just because the girl is hacking through monsters, she's automatically a good, strong, powerful character, but that's not true.
Another of my favorite female characters is Temperance Brennan (from the books, not the show). Honestly, they did her so dirty in the Bones: she's not this cold, stoic badass in the books. In fact, she's just a normal lady who is really good at her job and who really, really cares about getting answers for things, even when it's not her job to do so.
In the grand scheme of things, Temperance Brennan isn't some powerful leader who can change the whole world; she's solving one crime at a time in different locations around the US and Canada. She's brilliant in forensic anthropology and can notice clues that no one else does due to her experience and keen eye.
I'd like to challenge you to break the paradigm of the strong female character being the Chosen One, the ultimate badass, the most importantest lady there ever was. Think about how you can make a strong character without just "wow she's so tough and she's so fierce and she's so special."
Expertise can make strength.
This one is more challenging because it requires you to become an expert in what you're talking about, and to balance that expertise with creating interesting characters.
The Temperance Brennan books are so great because Dr. Kathy Reichs herself is actually a forensic anthropologist. An incredible forensic anthropologist who testified before the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal about the Rwandan genocide and who helped identify victims at the World Trade Center. She's a truly awe-inspiring woman and a damn good writer.
Dr. Reichs' experience infuses the entire series with this sense of gravitas. You can feel that she knows what she's doing, and that, by extension, Temperance Brennan knows what she's doing. This, in addition to having a well-rounded personality, makes Temperance a great character because we understand that she worked very hard to get to where she is: she had to face a lot of challenges and setbacks to become such an expert.
One reason that this creates a strong female character is because to become good at anything, you need to believe in yourself, at least a little. You have to have persistence and not give up when shit gets hard; plus, you have to be very passionate about what you're doing or, again, you'll just give up.
Having authority in any field creates strength that you can lean on, and it also presupposes certain character traits that got your character to where they are right now.
A character that has an earned accomplishment, not just a Chosen One, is going to have some heft to them by dint of knowing shit. Of course, you need to give you some other traits, too; they could be shy but brilliant, and they had to overcome some of their shyness to get where they are. Or they could be really lazy but they were so curious about this one singular thing that it consumed them. That makes for interesting characters.
If you don't have any special expertise, that's okay: it just means that if you want to create a strong character based on their experience, you need to do some research and talk to people who know what they're doing.
Even tough characters have moments of weakness.
A pitfall that many writers fall into is thinking that their characters have to be strong all the damn time and can never cry, get upset, yell, have a little freakout moment.
The strongest woman I know is my mother. She survived 20 years of domestic violence and went on to get two Master's degrees in her 50s while working full-time, and she's now applying to a PhD program in Death Studies. In her work, she has helped some of the largest companies in the world implement enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, which I can't even explain to you how it works frankly.
Truly a very accomplished woman, and my absolute inspiration. However, she certainly has her bad moments. Of course she does - she's a human being! When our family dog died, she was an inconsolable wreck, as were all of us. I've seen her ranting about the dumbest things, and she's a total baby about any form of physical pain.
This does not make her any less of a strong person, nor does it make me respect her less. In fact, it makes me remember that she is very accomplished and strong despite having all the same stupid human temptations that we all do.
Characters aren't people, but we want them to feel like people. That means letting them have a little cry once in a while, or screw up, or say something stupid and regret it. It doesn't make them weak; it makes them complex.
Being emotional does not negate strength.
Let us look at the ultimate magical girl: Sailor Moon. Usagi Tsukino is the archetype Cancerian who cries about fucking everything. She's such a big disaster baby, but she's also a very strong female character, and part of the reason she's a strong female character is because she is a big disaster baby.
Usagi shows that you can feel deeply without it making you a lesser person; in fact, part of the reason that she's so tough is because she channels her energy into her magical persona.
All of the Sailor Scouts are quite emotional in their own way, which makes sense because, you know, they're teenagers. They get upset and cry, or yell at each other and have fights, but it doesn't get in the way of what they need to do.
We like Usagi and root for her because she puts her whole heart out there and doesn't pretend that she doesn't have feelings. She just oozes emotion all the time, and part of her journey is learning how to make her emotions work for her rather than the other way around.
It's not necessary to make your female characters stoic, empty, and unaffectionate. They can be loving and kind without it detracting from their power.
As I have said before in other posts, people read fiction to feel things. Even if we don't necessarily admire or enjoy a certain character, we're going to have strong feelings about them if they show emotions. This is because human beings have mirror neurons that become activated when we see emotions. Characters feeling things makes us feel things. That develops a bond with them and, when combined with other character elements, makes for memorable characters.
Give each strong female character a secret goal that gets in the way.
Typically, a character's goal, especially if they are the MC, is obvious and straightforward. They want to save the world, or solve a mystery, or get the boy, or whatever. But strong characters often have a secret goal that is at odds with their ultimate quest, and it is this push-pull between their outward goal and their secret inner goal that creates complexity.
The secret inner goal may not even be necessarily known to the character; its mere existence will cause internal strife that leaks out into their actions.
For example, let's say that we have a typical saving-the-world girl character. Perhaps their side quest is to find love. But what's their secret goal? Maybe it's finding a sense of belonging, having been a black sheep as a little girl.
Will saving the world fix that? Probably not, because now she stands alone; she may be loved and revered, but she's also apart from other people by this brand-new status. She's accepted yes, but she doesn't necessarily belong.
Maybe her secret goal is to come to terms with her past. Will saving the world fix that? It could; perhaps it helps her accept that she can't save everyone, but she can save as many as she can.
Or, perhaps, her secret goal is to feel normal. This is a nebulous term that means different things to different people. Saving the world will probably not make her feel normal, because now she's a superhuman freak. So here we have her struggling to feel normal when she is decidedly even less normal than before.
Perhaps we see her trying to shape this newly-saved world into something that will make her feel that normalcy, and in doing so, she becomes a tyrant. That's a fascinating problem to have!
The most satisfying triumphs are the ones where, against all odds, the character manages to get both. In a bittersweet ending, they may achieve the secret goal but fail at the outward goal. It may also be a tragedy if they achieve their outward goal but, in doing so, have to sacrifice the secret goal.
Most importantly, the secret goal needs to be secret. It can't be outwardly stated because then it's not a secret goal anymore. By holding it close, you perfume this story with a longing and tugging; you develop internal contradictions that make us wonder what the character is thinking or why they do things that may seem contraindicative to their ultimate goal.
Some possible secret goals include:
Having a family (whatever that means to the character)
Feeling wanted
Feeling normal
Feeling adequate
Developing self-love
Overcoming imposter syndrome
Getting revenge for a past slight
Living up to expectations
Forgiving themselves for past mistakes
Honoring someone's memory
Paying back a previous kindness
Healing old wounds
That's about it. Again, these are all my opinions based on my experience. I'm not telling you how to write your book or saying you can't do anything.
If you enjoyed this, maybe you'll consider reading my gay coming-of-age fantasy romance, 9 Years Yearning, for a cool $3. There are silly little guys punching each other and riding horses.

Cabin Pressure Advent Day 15: Ottery St Mary
Okay, so I know this episode is controversial.
I think we all agree it's a classic. But I'm told that for some people, it's just too mean to Arthur for people to like it. I get this point of view, but I disagree.
But we'll get to that soon.
First of all, this episode is full of so many epic, classic Cabin Pressure moments that you kind of HAVE to like it. Yellow car? That magnificent post-credits song? 100 otters? (And re that last one, for those who haven't seen this, if you want to see what's effectively a pre-draft of the script...) And that doesn't even get to the Carolyn/Herc plotline, which is awesome on its own.
I'll talk about that one first, actually, because it continues on something that my bandaged finger yesterday prevented me from elaborating on- the Carolyn/Herc relationship beginning. I know very few people in real life in relationships that are the kind of adversarial ones that you can get in sitcoms, and I think that S4 will do a lot to make their relationship a bit more realistic, but it really doesn't matter because a) the dialogue is funny and b) the actors are really able to convey how much fun the characters are having arguing. Is that going to sustain a healthy relationship? Nah. Is it going to get the two of them interested enough to become (as Carolyn will put it later) "sparring partners"? Of course. Later we'll see them acquire a bit more of the balance and mutual vulnerability that will allow them to live a normal day together, but for now this is super fun.
(I also thought it was interesting how back in Newcastle, the two of them were much more mutually collegial, even if they were arguing a lot- and this episode they were way more adversarial. At first I was kind of like "wait... isn't this backward?" but really, when you think about it, Carolyn's kind of testing Herc here, and Herc is showing that not only does he pass but he's enjoying himself. So this is bringing their relationship forward and proving that they're more comfortable with each other.)
As far as the piano-shoving plot- okay, so I actually think it's kind of genius. Because it SEEMS like it's more of a Limerick, with the random different things all coming together, but I think it's actually more of an Ipswich. It's beautifully plotted, if a bit simpler of a plot than some other episodes. Listening to it, it's just so enjoyable to hear the plot unfold... especially because the plot IS so simple, or at least deceptively so. You barely even notice that it's happening until it does.
For another past-episode callback, remember all the fuss I was making about Cremona vs Douz? How the crazy plot needs to measure up to the crazy villain? So I think it actually works great here. There isn't actually an outside villain here- each of them is the architect of their crazy sitcom hijinks, each in his own way. Martin creates the situation and does basically nothing to help, and Douglas and Arthur each make stupid mistakes that hold them all back. And the nice thing about them themselves being the villains is that it means that, because they're crazy sitcom characters, no plot resolution is too crazy. If Douglas and Arthur end up dragging a piano through Ottery St Mary, then that's totally the sort of thing that might happen to them!
But it goes further than that. They're all the "villains" from a purely plot perspective- but there's another dimension, which is theme. And thematically, Douglas is the villain, and Arthur is the hero. Because the thing is, Martin and Douglas are, as people note, pretty mean to Arthur here- but they're not actually meaner here than they are at other times. They just do it more often, and Arthur reacts a bit more strongly. And it's Douglas who really is awful to Arthur about the keys and to a lesser degree the address- the typical sarcasm but even more biting and nasty, and to an Arthur who seems really upset.
The interesting thing is that there are a bunch of episodes where Arthur comes out looking kind of dumb. (Like, the moral of Ipswich is basically "any company with an Arthur in it is too doomed to receive a legal permit to operate"...) From that perspective, the show has been pretty hard on him the whole time. And I'm not sure there's an episode where Martin comes out of the thing winning until... Vaduz? Maybe? But even Douglas's big taken-down-a-peg episode, Johannesburg, ends with him getting one over on Martin. His whole function is to end the episode saving the day. This, however, is the first episode* where Douglas is unequivocally the clot by the end... and Arthur gets a chance to be the one to tell him so.
Like, that's art. When Douglas finally gets taken down a peg- and stays there!!- it's Arthur, who they've been having a lot of fun insulting (and who takes it like a champ), who gets to get his own back. He doesn't get to bounce back- he just has to take it, knowing that he was an asshole even if he's too embarrassed to admit it.
So that's why I can't really hate the episode for how mean it is to Arthur- first of all because the show kind of always was, and secondly because, well, hearing Arthur call him a clot is like poetry.
Next up... one of my absolute faves... PARIS!
*As I think about this, I realize that Fitton is an exception- but I'm going to let my argument stand as technically that happens outside the bounds of the aircraft and the airline, even if the repercussions, to a degree, show up in the airline in Gdansk and Limerick.

The events of Immortal Hulk depict a timeloop in which a desperate message from the end of all things reaches Sam and he takes that message to enact the events we see unfold, preventing the destruction of all.
Where do you feel Sam, who wanted to bring about this calamity, went wrong and ended up preventing the One Below All from claiming Banner?
Hah, that's a good question. I hope we'll now more about this, how did it reach Sam, of all the universe and time and people and infinite possibilities ? Is it because he was the only one who could prevent it or was it an accident ? Did he, somehow, was smart enough to intercept it himself ? Why did he want to bring a future where he's dead too considering the One Below All is the last entity remaining ? Did he even fail ? We don't know, the future he witnessed is so far away, TOBA/TOAA is still here so it can still happen, Immortal Hulk's ending is an open door (pun intended), it's not an ending and it left our characters with choices, all of them. Bruce is still wondering if he's going on the right path, Sam is no longer the Leader, they both can still pick a different path and it's up to other writers to write that and with all the references to Tamuz and Green Doors we get in Phillip Kennedy Johnson's run I really don't think the Green Door story is over, so far we can't really tell if that calamity was really prevented imo.
As for what Sam did wrong, as always his own arrogance, I guess he was bold enough to think he could trick TOBA itself and kinda become it and get its power, as he called himself a God (of hate) which TOBA is. And he did become that but not as intended, he was the puppet and not the puppeteer, TOBA's mask, possessed like a simple tool. Sam is connected to Bruce, they share a destiny and it seems TOBA needs both of them, something Sam failed to see 'cause he thought Bruce was the one and only missing link for the gamma flow or whatever when it was apparently him. They both have a part to play in this future and if anything so far Sam totally served TOBA's goal. After all Sam could manipulate the Green Door way easier than Brian and I don't think it's because he's smarter, Sam was always able to possess Gamma irradiated (Omnibus) and always able to create connexion with them (Rick, Bruce), he just never realized he could, it was an "accident" each time, even if when he reached Bruce he says that "somehow, through some door" (so Bruce's door) he was able to reach him. Sam always had access to it (and he's not the only one, I don't know if you ever read Al Ewing's first Defender run with Red Harpy but you should). Same for the shapeshifting, Sam had a shit tons of transformations already and being able to shapeshift is just the natural evolution of his manipulative power and liar personality so to me everything he got through TOBA's power is just a better advanced controle over his own, not a new one. Sam is about hate and so is TOBA, Sam is a connexion, he's not the host it was planning to keep but the connexion between gamma and irradiated it needed to reach Bruce. Or at least that's how I see it. Just like how Jackie is the eyes and can see the truth (I'll develop that one day, the link between truth and gamma), Bruce the strength and destruction etc etc to me the main irradiated all have a specific role to play, kinda like a chest game. As such I would say Bruce is the King, the one needed piece, Sam the Queen, the one that can make every moves and will kinda create the path y'know (I should draw them all as chest pieces now that I think of it...), you get my point. And ironically through his own over confidence he understimated himself and his role in this calamity, leading (lol) him to his own demise.
Anyway, feel free to ask more about the lore even if it's unrelated to art ! It makes me very happy to talk about that and feel free to agree or disagree, my answer is mostly interpretation, as I said Immortal Hulk ending is an open door and it left us free to have our own interpretation and that's something I really love about this story, while it gives us a real story with a beginning and an ending, we are free to have our own vision. Hulk forgiving Sam was a perfect exemple of this with Savage being for forgivness, Jackie being against it and refusing to forgive him and Joe being like "heh idk I guess that depends on what he'll do next" so you could relate to yes, no, maybe. And I think having a story ending with such endless possibilities is great so I really don't mind earing your own version of it, you or anyone else. That's why when I commission an artist to draw Sam I let them free, I don't want them to draw MY interpretation, I want them to draw THEIRS, I love sharing headcanon and theories with people. In fact the way I see Sam (and Hulk's lore) changed so much through people's own interpretation, it's truly fascinating and it's what a fandom should be about, sharing. Oh it doesn't mean you have to agree and adopt these headcanons, far from it, but other people's headcanons won't prevent you from having your own different ones and listening to others can bring very good point you didn't necessarly think about. As much as I love Sam and as much as I know everything about him, comics lore is way too inconsistant to have only one truth and one vision about a character.

I just want to say that a while back I DM'd storm and I too was cussed out over a simple disagreement of terms. We disagreed on the definition of fan service and on whether or not BTS engaged in it. I believe they do because literally every celebrity does at differing degrees. She immediately tried to make me feel dumb for not reading through her incredibly long master list and post and not listening to her...because listening to her means always agreeing with her apparently. I pushed back and said one can listen but not agree, me listening doesn't mean me bowing to your definition, I'm allowed to disagree....and I think you're the one not listening to me. She responded with something along the lines of I've read everything you said but you don't make any sense. She then ended the conversation and blocked me. All because I didn't agree with her definition of fan service and I because I think BTS engages in it.
I know of other people to that were blocked simply because they disagreed with her. I genuinely think she doesn't understand that people not agreeing with her isn't an attack and that if you disagree with her it's because you aren't listening or paying attention. I never thought I'd get blocked because of something so small.
Me either anon. Me either. C'mere
Okay people gather around. I came with a mission, and that mission was to make people aware of the fuckery that was going on. And I believe I did that because it got to the targeted audience. I ruffled some feathers along the way, but that was expected.
So, last ask I will post about this mess. Because I believe I did what I came to do. Hopefully people will be more aware of controlling behaviour from now on. It's a shame that people are still scared. So don't get it twisted, just coz I'm deading this issue, don't mean I ain't keeping an eye. Yes, I am what I was accused of; a self appointed sheriff of justice. Where's my sword?
No one should be made to feel like they can't express themselves and share their opinions in their own damn blogs. So we are done. For now. But if this shit happens again we'll be right back here, once again. I fucking hate bullies. I hate them with every inch of my being. You get no love from me, sorry.
Conclusion/TLDR:
If you followed me for the drama, or to keep tabs on me so u can report back to your Queen, I'm done. U can unfollow now.
But if u followed me coz u like when we talk about Jikook then my child, by all means, welcome. 💚💚💚💚

Opinion Piece
I believe the whole gender thing has gone too far.
Sure, I am one to advocate for self expression for both sides. I in fact was once a tomboy and dressed like one, in some aspects I still am and still do while being into girly things. I even agreed just let the feminine men be themselves, because there is more boyish girls and more girlish boys. Tomyboys and Femboys. Straight, simple to the point. I even agreed to just let trans-people live their lives and leave them alone, if it makes their life happy whats the problem? Same goes with pronouns, I agreed to the main three he/them/her, if it helped others express themselves.
but now? Well...
I can't help question if I want to continue to support it with how far its been reaching beyond its barrier. There was a comfortable stop sign and like a speeding party bus it barreled right through! They don't care who's on the road, that bus has no destination and just wants to disrupt the world.
Those who use "Pronouns" is one thing that has gone way way too far, even past reality for most of them. I don't feel like writing a long paragraph today, so have a list of examples:
Aside Them/He/She, a good handful of them want to accept and believe that identifying as an animal or sound is a gender. Either having pronouns of Xe/Xer or Bat/Bats as examples. That is NOT based on reality.
They want everybody to use pronouns, even all other countries. They call it 'being inclusive', but really they are forcing their belief what gender is into everybody else's business. Doesn't matter if you have a culture, opinion or religion that disagrees with it- Just like the Latinos, they don't have the choice of being called Latinx despite having no consent from the general people.
They try to dismantle that clothing does have gender. A girl going by them/he wearing the most frilly of frills, complaining how people misgender them and how it upsets them, so clothing shouldn't have gender just so people can't misgender her. That dismantles the whole DragQueen and Trans with how clothing is shown being gendered.
You are NOT ALLOWED to disagree with Pronouns, even if its your religion, culture or personal opinions. If you do not respect using pronouns of somebody else you are called every label under the exclusive bigot umbrella. People are forced to comply to use them and demanded respect from them, when the community itself cries when they believe an opinion is forced on them and won't respect other people.
The general community tries to change language of another culture just so they have their pronouns. Not every culture or every populous wants to use pronouns or accompany it, but if they don't then they're seen as bad people.
They want to believe they can just raise a child has non-binary, thinking this certainly won't confuse the child as it grows up or cause some serious confusion. We have yet to see the fruit produced from this new wave of pronoun use, so we'll have to see what happens when those kids grow up and their stories.
They want you to get the pronouns right the first time despite not remotely looking like the gender they identify as, basically no room for mistakes or accidental assumptions.
A good number of the community makes "Cis" people out to be the enemy just for being their biological gender and accepting that.
I've already made posts when it came to Trans people, but this is legit just a public journal of sorts like I've described before.
It just seems like people who wants to be trans or use pronouns hate themselves. They preach self love, but these people seem to be the most miserable and most self-loathing out of anybody in the rest of the world. The world will not bend around them to please them, so it upsets them how reality is they aren't what they want to be. They deny reality with their own logic and justification to why they believe something is real.
Maybe instead of transitioning or using pronouns... Maybe these people really need help in understand what true self-love is and accepting them as they are, instead of what they're not.

Placements that indicate being intimidating
In this post we will discuss the aspects or placements that make the native of the impression very intimidating. Even if inside they are very warm or welcoming, I will only talk about the impressions, the aura or their potential to be the epitome of this title, an intimidating person. You don't necessarily have to be the way we'll talk about later, you can just present yourself that way. With that explained, enjoy this post.
🟫1st house and 10th house also known as Ascendant/Rising and MC/Midheaven respectively are houses that show the way that we project ourselves to the world, our appearance and the first impressions that we give to others.
🟤Fire Risings. They are people who project themselves in a very strong and imposing way. Things as simple as their gaze, the way they interact with their environment or those gestures they make without realizing it make them give the impression of being people you shouldn't mess up with. They are direct and do not hide their discontent or displeasure, they will let you know very clearly what they think and feel. Precisely this way of being and how they face their day to day can be the reason that others fear them in a certain way or that they earn the respect of others more easily.
🟤Aries Risings. One simple word, confidence. It doesn’t matter what this native is really like, or if they have insecurities about themselves, they are not seen. They project an unwavering confidence, an attitude of being the best or at least being the best version of themselves. They not only ask for respect, they earn it, through the way they address and value themselves. Their strength, determination, power, and even their good looks make them seem like people you can't easily take down. Regardless of whether you like them or not, it wouldn't do you any good to have them as enemies, the good part about this is that a lot of people pick up on this quickly.
🟤Sagittarius Risings. Don't be fooled by the millions of stereotypes mentioning their "bubbly and fun" personality, something you should understand is that this is not a side of them that they bring out with anyone. These natives tend to be very intimidating, since in many of them Pluto is in the same rising sign, giving their personality colder, harsher and more mysterious tones. They seem to have many things in their life, among those things a great self-esteem, a certain power or they can simply give vibes of being more superior than most people [even without pretending to be above people], they are their vibes.
🟤Earth Risings. They project themselves in a very professional way and stand out for having what we call a resting bitch face, they are not here to deal with nonsense, they take themselves very seriously and want to be taken seriously. Their gaze is heavy, it feels like a knife, it is penetrating and it catches you without leaving you with a possible way out. They are demanding not only with themselves, but also with the people around them, although it might surprise you that they do not put expectations of any kind on people. This boss-like attitude is what earns them not only prestige, but also the respect of others.
🟤Virgo Risings. Passing their vibe check is somewhat complicated, making them like you? Good luck with it. Or at least that's the impression they give. They are difficult people to get to know one hundred percent, and it is this reserved and analytical nature that makes them appear intimidating. It seems that their eyes see through your soul and uncover your intentions, you feel exposed to them, and there is the inability to lie to them. Maybe its the fact that some have Scorpio or Pluto in the 3rd which makes them communicate clearly and concisely. Do they agree with you? You will hear it. Do they disagree with you? You will hear it even louder. The way in which they relate to others is direct, they have diplomacy but they will not be afraid to call you out.
🟤Capricorn Risings. They don't need you. Not you, not anyone. Only to themselves, they show that they fully trust themselves, that they know what they are doing and that each step they take is previously planned. Messing with them is something that many want, since despite not being confrontational, winning a debate or a fight against them can be a real futile attempt. No sugarcoating, they will tell you things as they think, they would prefer a thousand times to bury your feet on the ground than to make you fly in a sky of rather fanciful realities. If you believe that they are harsh with others, you should live a single day in their mind. They hate wasting time and don't mean to waste it on stupid things so taking the time to deviate from their own business is unlikely unless you mean something to their life.
🟤Leo Midheaven or MC in Leo degrees [05°, 17°, 29°]. Success and self-love are the two most important things in the life of this native, who strongly project themselves, who from the beginning make it clear to you who they are, what they want and what they don't want to deal with. King/Queen vibes, they may give you the impression that they internally judge/analyze you in depth, this placement along with Virgo risings has a difficult vibe check to pass. Despite attracting a lot of attention and being considered attractive, powerful and unmatched, they keep their distance from others, keeping a fairly large space, enough for you to respect their boundaries and not see them as "your lifelong friends".
🟤Capricorn Midheaven or MC in Capricorn degrees [10°, 22°]. They cause surprising impressions, as many are intrigued by the question: "what’s going on in their minds?". They come across as very hard to read, strong, powerful and definitely people you don't want to let down. No matter their role in society or in their work area, they will always give the impression of having more authority than anyone in the room. They make themselves heard and respected. It will be hard to get a smile out of them the first time you meet them and very few things really surprise them. People do not want to let them down and everyone feels a need to assert themselves before these natives.
🟤Mars in the 1st or 10th house. Naturally, these natives have something known as a resting bitch face, they are very evident when it comes to expressing when they dislike something and they are very frank with their opinions, frankness that is linked in many things with an intimidating appearance and personality. They seem to go for what they want without hesitation and no matter who gets in the way, many times they also give the impression of having a lot of strength not only temperamentally, but also physically. In the same way, they give the impression of being very dominant and uncontrollable people, someone who, on the contrary, must lead and take charge of the situation. They experiment and explore as they please and their rebellious touch to their personality makes them seem somewhat indomitable. Their presence is powerful and they are not intimidated by anyone.
🟤Saturn in the 1st or 10th house. They project classiness and seem to be untouchable, they are very cautious and analytical people before deciding whether to have a friendship or interaction with another person. They seem to know more than the rest, they seem to have no desire to socialize with people and to be perfectly on their own. They hate the idea of depending on someone, asking for help or showing any hint of vulnerability. They maintain a serene face even if there is turbulence around them, they seem to be immovable and difficult to provoke, but you quickly understand that it is not the best thing to provoke them. Many people listen carefully to what they say and they are the kind of people that even if they finish speaking, people keep silent waiting if they have something more to say, since this intimidating aura makes others think that they hate being interrupted.
🟤Pluto in the 1st or 10th house. With you there is a deep need to be authentic, to embrace the dark side as a human part instead of hiding it in an always happy facade, to achieve a lot and to progress independently. When we meet a powerful and ambitious mind such as this, someone with very well defined criteria and who hates wasting time with things that do not interest them, they can easily become intimidating people for others. This is not to mention the classic and that is that there is something in their aura that makes them not only difficult to read but also to understand. People tend to fear those things that they don’t understand or know and you are the clear representation of both.
🟫Saturnian and Plutonian energy are both of the most imposing and mysterious energies. They share many similarities in terms of the type of presence that they make the natives have, along with the attitude and mindset.
🟤Saturn or Pluto dominance. We have the two most intimidating planets in astrology, two titans whose gaze cuts you in a matter of seconds. The way they address themselves and present themselves to their surroundings makes anyone nervous. Two titans that you would not want as enemies because they have an excellent memory in their favor, an intelligent mind capable of devising ways in which to make you have a really bad time if you did not touch your heart with them. Powerful and magnetic personalities, they always manage to have people admiring them and the peculiar way in which they act. These natives have been through many things, so you can hardly tricky them, and it is very likely that it does not even cross your mind to do so, because you do not want to arouse the anger that they keep in the depths of their being, that chained by the hardness that from young they began to polish.
🟤Saturn/Pluto in the 4th house. The expression of their emotional world is repressed by past experiences, it is very likely that people think that the native cannot be vulnerable to others, they can even classify them as cold or unemotional. But they are simply people who know how to put aside their emotions when it comes time to make an important decision, they do not get carried away by them or by desires or impulses and always put reason first and prefer to do "the most logical". When people see that they have this facility they can be surprised. They could come across as intimidating as you will hardly see them being led by the heart.
🟤Saturn in the 5th house. They have many filters in their personality and they don't show themselves as they really are, they seem to be very reserved and much more serious and critical than they really are. This aware and watchful nature makes other people feel like they are constantly being targeted. The personality and core of the natives is fused with the distant and distrustful nature of Saturn, while giving them a tough and cunning appearance. People may think that these natives are very demanding with people and that they have very high standards when it comes to surrounding themselves with others, when the reality is that they do not place expectations on others, because they know that they cannot meet them.
🟤Saturn in water houses [4th, 8th and 12th] or water signs [Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces]. These natives can give the impression of having complete control of their emotions, of not letting themselves be dominated or affected by anything or anyone, they can even be seen as cold, especially if it's making a hard aspect with Sun, Moon or MC. They give the impression of being unreachable, emotionally distant, or having no intention of bonding.
🟤Saturn/Pluto making hard aspects with Sun. Their personality is intoxicated with the mysterious waters of any of these planets. The native becomes demanding, skeptical, critical and distant in terms of interaction with other people. Those who know them know that they are people who do not fool around, that when they do not like something they will make it clear, and that they will never offer you a smile if they really dislike you. They will be obvious and they will be very sincere from the beginning. It is precisely their honesty and authenticity that can make anyone stutter, they know their power, they know their value, but best of all, they know the effect they have on people and use it to their advantage. Their personality is rather introverted and mysterious, they don't let anyone get close to them and they hardly find the right people to show their true selves. Meanwhile, the other people deal with that hardness that they have formed on their exterior, the one that without words makes you understand that they will not fall into your games and will not lower themselves to your level.
🟤Pluto in the 3rd house. Many times it is not what you say, it is how you say it, and more so in this topic since the way we express ourselves is what can make us fall into the limbo of being very intimidating or not. This placement of Pluto in particular makes the native very direct, they may not have much diplomacy and what they say sounds more like a conclusion than an opinion. Their words are not that common to hear but when they decide to speak, they emanate a lot of power, security and certainty through them. They are not people who openly talk about their emotions or who in general express any type of vulnerability with ease.
🟫7th house also plays a very important role in this theme, since it represents the way in which we unconsciously project ourselves to others. This house reflects the traits of our personality that we show to other people once they interact with us and the way they perceive us.
🟤Capricorn in the 7th/Ruler of the 7th in Capricorn/Saturn in the 7th house. The effect that the 7th house has is that it is a subconscious projection. Those with any of these are not intended to be seen in such a way, but people perceive them as serious, precise and somewhat judgmental. People feel that they have to meet some kind of expectation to like them or that it is very difficult to get the approval of these natives. They are not projected as very openly emotional people, and can be seen as somewhat cold and calculating, when the reality is that natives keep their distance between themselves and others for an idea of quickly trusting others. They emanate toughness and even if this is not the case, they can give the impression of having had a somewhat tough life and as a result of it, they developed an equally tough personality and an unwavering demeanor.
🟤Scorpio in the 7th/Ruler of the 7th in Scorpio/Pluto in the 7th house. Something similar to the previous one happens, and it is that they project themselves as people with whom it is difficult to become intimate or as people with whom it is difficult to get to know well, they do not allow themselves to be vulnerable with other people and they project themselves as intense, powerful and very selective with people. In the case of these natives, other people feel that there must be something "unique" or "different" in them in order to get their attention or gain the respect of these natives. They appear to others as people who do not have a middle ground, as people for whom things are black or white, yes or no. As people with very strong opinions and feelings, maybe even stubborn and argumentative at times.
🟤Mars in the 7th house. Again, these natives do not realize that they project themselves in this way, but many see them as very competent people, with a lot of potential and very sure of what they want from other people/from their relationships. They do not hesitate in social situations even if they prefer solitude, people hardly intimidate them and what’s more intimidating than a person that doesn’t back down? The way they control their temper seems too good to be true in the eyes of others, and deep down they suspect that when the native gets angry, they explode in an intense and excessive way.
-The following are some of the placements and aspects that make the person's aura or presence very strong and that immediately win people's fear or at least their respect.-
🟤A well-placed Mars [Mars in the 1st, 8th, 10th or in Aries, Scorpio or Capricorn]. It is normal to assume this, since the courageous Mars, due to its ambition and way of being, can be seen as intimidating quite often. These natives seem to have no filter, they simply release truths into the air, they prefer a thousand times to keep themselves honest and what they think before bothering to worry excessively about the public's opinion. These people do not fear a confrontation, be it physical or verbal, and they know how to defend themselves very well from others or defend those they love, but what they know best is to attack the jugular, attack those evident weak points that they know of their victim. But hey, in the best of the cases they make a very good and funny friend! Good luck bringing out this side of them…
🟤Mars-Saturn/Pluto tense aspects. Their temperament is strong and those who know them know that seeing it clearly can be a not so pleasant experience. These people don't give up easily, so if you hurt them or make them feel bad, they won't rest until you feel the same way, even if they have to wait a while. Their dexterity and that mind that when they want can introduce you to the deadliest villain should be reason enough for you not to even think of playing a trick on them.
🟤Sun in the 8th house. They naturally emanate magnetism, they activate people's intrigue and curiosity, but at the end of the day there is something in them that makes people feel a barrier between them and the native, as if they couldn't approach them so spontaneously. Many find themselves gazing from afar at the native who seems to be doing everything right on his own. That "I don't mess with you, you better not mess with me" attitude is something that seems rational to natives but is slightly scary to the average person. Your intensity, your desire to feel powerful or achieve a lot on your own are things that people admire. They don't reveal much about themselves, while they seem to know so much about you and knowing that the native is in possession of such personal information provokes some caution or fear in others.
🟤Stellium in the 8th house or 10th house. Whether or not it is true, they project themselves as superior to the average person, either because of their sharp intellect, perhaps prestige or reputation, or even because of the maturity they have forged through experience. Speaking of reputation, it is normal for these natives to have one that indicates that they are unapproachable in some way, that they are very serious, demanding, mysterious or that it is even very difficult for them to like you. The truth is that this description is usually very accurate, but there is nothing like knowing it on your own... well, that’s only if you are not afraid to risk trying to dive deep into that heavily protected core.
🟤An afflicted Moon [Capricorn, Scorpio / placed in the 8th house]. What causes having the Moon in this cosmic state is that the person feels some kind of blockage when it comes to expressing the nature of this luminary. They have difficulty opening up, expressing their vulnerable and emotional side and, on the contrary, they always choose to appear strong and indestructible. Past experiences forge his cautious, skeptical and somewhat aloof nature. They are not cold but they can give the impression of being so.

Look, this is the last time I speak on this but I'll keep it simple. if someone is going to appoint themselves the role of "savior of the fandom" or "fandom police", they need to at least acknowledge the bigger issues in the fandom (because there are bigger issues) and they should not be biased when it comes to ships, characters, etc. Otherwise, it's blatant hypocrisy to target specific people and hold them accountable because you don't agree with their opinions and accuse them of misleading readers, especially if said savior/police belongs to a group that are to known to have spread lies and false information on more than one occasion and yet did not hold them accountable. I can't take them seriously.
They keep proving me right. Their issue isn't about misleading people or lying (some of them obviously do that if we're going to start holding people accountable), they just want to shut people with different opinions up especially if it''s not in favor of their ship. Otherwise, people that have been vocal about thinking Elr*el isn't happening, which is an opinion they are entitled to and have formed on their own, wouldn't have been attacked. Wasn't Elena Armas (author of The Spanish Love Deception) ridiculed not long ago by some of them after someone dug up her post from more than a year ago about her rooting for Gwynriel to happen. What about the slurs thrown at other readers so casually, hm? so, please solve the issues within your own group before coming at other people because your group do need some help, I'm not the one giving teenagers bullying courses and list of names (which includes name of fans, authors, artists, shops, etc) to harass if we'll start getting concerned about the vulnerable young in the fandom.
They're treating me like a cult leader and I'm just... I can't Lol. It's a book about fucking fairies, not the Bible.
All of you are free to form your own thoughts and opinions. You may disagree and it can get heated but do not cross boundaries. The block button exists for a reason my lovelies, use it.
The next book will be confirmed, it's inevitable. Many people will be proven wrong. Meanwhile, chill and have fun in the fandom.

Hi, I wasn't the anon and your answer is lovely, but just felt like sharing my spontanous thought... which is that George (and Ringo) possibly chose Klein's side because it was just easier. People often choose the easier thing of two. It's not a very smart theory, but this is how it feels to me at the moment: Klein was there, he was offering things, things already started with him, John was all convinced... and Paul was against the flow, against the most available and easy option at the time for a manager (considering that they didn't want Eastman and as far as I know the Eastmans were offered as a consequence of Paul not wanting Klein, not initially). And just, Paul was always pushing for more *tiring* things in general, things like touring in small avenues, all those albums that they had to make too often, the Let it Be project, the let's fight Klein on his percentage debacle. Paul had the energy and conviction to doubt and object Klein, and eventually even sue them, but how many people would go that route when you can just take the flow, and the flow was Klein. I think the others didn't care that much what percentage Klein took because it was also more simple to just agree. I probably would have done the same in their situation, accept whatever the ambitious manager wants, just to manage me and leave me alone. (which is not supposed to say they were lazy, I don't think any of the Beatles were ever lazy. But Paul was maybe quite eccentric on how much he was willing to do things and do them his own way.) Like I said I realise my view is not very intelligent. I think it's very possible that George also liked John better at the time, but I don't think that would be the main reason for him to choose a manager. Though who knows, I know the answer is more complicated, like you said.
Hello my love, thanks for sharing your thoughts. That's such a good point and I think an excellent way of framing the whole thing that puts it in perspective, so thanks for sharing it! I don't think I've seen it stated quite that way, and it does make a lot of sense.
Certainly Klein (and therefore John) was making it seem like that was most easy way forward, and he had already been working for them (with some success) with no contract for awhile. So solidifying that would have made some sense. I do really think this probably helped sway Ringo too (although he did seem to genuinely think that Klein could be good for them too).
So, I think you're making an excellent point. But, that said, short of Paul bringing out the reincarnation of Brian as a counterpoint, there was no way that George was siding with him. Obviously we'll never know, but I just don't think the dynamics of the band ever really worked that way. I’m sure people would disagree, but that’s my reading!

What Armys did today with all the "freejk" "hostage" jokes and hate comments over such a simple post (clout chasing post or maybe it was with good intentions, whatever his intentions were) was so unnecessary and idiotic, like everyone knows Jay Park's problematic acts and what all he said about Bangtan but we don't have to start spreading THIS MUCH hate and toxic comments over such a post where he is complementing the boys (whatever his real intentions). It can be clearly used to show how Armys are the bad guys are by the antis. They could've let the post slide and not given it any attention. Ik it's a way of showing that we never forget whatever shit people do against bts and we'll protect them but this was unnecessary.
Now I know it was good to call out a problematic person but over such a post?? Not a good idea. Also why not call out other problematic celebs too then? Why so biased? Also they are literally adult celebs who can hangout with anyone they want, people change, relations change...going all "free jk" is so delusion and toxic.
I actually didn't know what Jay Park said about BTS until today... I only recently joined twitter... And I don't necessarily disagree with Armys blasting Jay Park like that. I just don't like how they weren't like this with other controversial celebs BTS have met and talked about. It's hypocrytical. And the hashtags were stupid. Jungkook doesn't need to be freed. But I wish BTS were more selective with the people they meet and admire. They would probably take a picture with Trump, shooting finger hearts at the camera, and the fandom would flip trying to make up an excuse for their behavior. I hate that I'm not confident BTS wouldn't do that. It says a lot about their easy-going attitude. I know a lot of assholes, and don't cancel or get angry at them over anything, but I also don't act like we're besties or excuse really bad shit. I guess I never had to. Celebrity bullshit is on another level. It's not just your racist grandad, but a millionaire living it up while treating people like shit and setting a bad example for the world. In Jay Park's case, it's not quite that bad. He's just another person who shat on BTS and who thinks he's all that. He's slime and seeing BTS smile next to slime is gross.
I don't agree with the point about antis using what happened to hate Army more. Armys don't need to seek approval from antis or to change their behavior to make people like them. Don't blame the "victim". That's like saying women shouldn't wear short skirts to avoid getting groped. People will hate Army no matter what. The problem isn't toxic Army, it's that people conveniently forget that everyone's toxic on twitter. And Army should be better, but not to please others.

Grace and Country 2/5
Rating: M
Pairing: 'Hangman' Adam Page/F!OC, One-Sided Kenny Omega/F!OC
Warnings: Canon-Typical Violence, Harrassment.
Co-Written with @lilmissriottbliss
Taglist - @moxleyunstable, @axelwolf8109
Summary: Ava and Adam go on that date, it goes about you'd expect with the Dark Order involved, Things with Kenny come to a head.
"Violet!"
"Ava? Mon Cher Smackdown is about to start why are you screaming?"
Violet gave Finn a look before putting her friend on speaker "Mon Roi is here too, what has you so excited?"
"ADAM ASKED ME OUT ON A DATE!" The younger woman yelled
Ava could hear Violet cursing in French from a small distance. “Really? That’s amazing! Give me details now!”
“I lost my phone and he found it near your adopted brother and then Kenny was annoying me again so he covered for me by saying we were going on a date so we’re actually going on one!”
“I’m so happy for you!”
“Could you do me a solid?” Ava asked
Of course darling," Violet agreed
"Could you guys not tell the big boss?" Ava begged "You know I love Seth to death, he's my dad shaped person but he wasn't happy about this whole AEW deal and he'll be even less happy to know I'm going out with one of their biggest stars"
Violet and Finn silently looked at each other before agreeing to the younger woman's request
"We have you covered darlin" Finn said
"What are you going to do about Omega?I'm starting to worry. He's really not taking no for an answer"
“I honestly don’t know” Violet handed Finn her phone, taking out the one meant to contact family. “I think she’s going to threaten Malachi into watching over you” Finn laughed.
Ava sighed in relief. While Malachi Black, formerly Aleister to Violet, was dark and broody, he did scare Kenny with a simple stare.
“So how’s Mox doing?” Violet asked
"Good, he got Omega off my back last night at Dynamite, threatened him with Ruby." Ava said "He said something about promising Seth to look out for me?"
"Seth called him and Miro when you decided to go to AEW." Finn explained
"Called in a couple of favors. You are the baby."
Ava rolled her eyes even though the couple couldn't see her "You've got to be kidding. I can take care of myself"
“We know you can take care of yourself, Seth has a overprotective complex”
Ava sighed but didn’t disagree. “We got to go now, see you tomorrow!” Violet hung up.
Ava turned off her phone, seeing a text from Kenny. Rolling her eyes she deleted it. “Is he ever gonna get the point?” she asked herself before flopping on her hotel bed with a sigh. He thoughts turning to the next day and the date she'd been dreaming of for years.
-Next Day-
She met Adam outside a café, the cowboy looking handsome in normal street clothes and without a certain purple and black group shadowing him.
“Wow, you look great” He said. As she grinned and twirled once, showing off the chic black suit she'd chosen for their date.
“Hope you don’t mind but I invited Violet and Finn just in case your friends crash this”
Adam laughed. “They probably will ”
Inside the cafe, Finn and Violet were waiting at a four person table, surprisingly without their daughter in tow.
"Where's my honey bunches?" Ava said with a pout, that Adam found adorable
"Becky and Seth have her" Finn explained "Shes having a playdate"
“Next time you bring her” Ava pointed. Finn raised his hands and laughed. Violet slid over a black coffee to Adam.
He accepted it with a smile. “So you’re both going after the top titles in Smackdown” he grinned.
“Yup!” Finn grinned. “It was fun in NXT but I wasn’t spending another week without my husband there” Ava sighed.
“It’s harder to get a title shot in AEW, I have no idea how to get to Britt”
“I lost the chance to be the inaugural champ because someone thought an ass deserved it” Adam muttered.
“Adam I think your shadows are here” Violet pointed to a booth in the corner
Sure enough, the purple and black clad Dark Order filled 2 corner booths, trying and failing to be inconspicuous.
"Oh god" Adam murmured "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have told them where we were going"
"They really care about you" Ava smiled at Adam causing that feeling to flutter in his chest again.
"You may not, have been the first AEW champion but you've got a shot at Kenny at All Out" Finn says
"Sure do" Adam says "I can't wait, I've owed Kenny an ass whipping for a while now"
“Fucking creep” Ava rolled her eyes. “How’s Paige?”
“You don’t know that from Mox?” Violet raised an eyebrow. Ava shook her head
“She’s ok, doing wonders with her makeup. Her and Sonya are planning a wedding”
Ava nodded. “Sorry about the Kingdom disbanding”
Finn rolled his eyes. “Of course Vince brings up Shotzi and us but doesn’t want Kyle, Millie, Priscilla or Jordan”
Adam and Ava share a smile knowing while AEW wasn't a paradise by any means…it wasn't run by Vince.
A loud bang sounded from the back of the restaurant and every turned to see one of the corner tables flipped on its side as John Silver looked around sheepishly.
Adam dropped his head in his hands as Ava giggled "I'm sorry, I'm gonna go uh…handle this" he said rising from his seat and heading toward the back.
"They are quite the band of misfits aren't they?" Violet said as she tried not to laugh as they watched Adam easily lift the table back in place and start seemingly scolding them for crashing their double date.
"They love him, and with the entire….mess with the Elite…their very overprotective." Ava explained
“Reminds me of Seth” Violet said. Ava’s eyes widened.
“It totally is!” Finn laughed as Adam came back and sat down.
“They swear it’s just a coincidence they all wanted to come here on the same day and time as my date”
Violet flipped her hair and put on her flirty voice. “So this a date?
Adam blushed hard. “Um…well, it’s definitely not a…friend thing…we’re not friends. I mean we are friends!, but I want to be more then friends!"
Ava blushed as she watched Adam flounder under Violet's question
"Leave him alone, mo chroi" Finn finally rescued the younger man from his wife.
“I was just being a good friend” Violet smirked.
Adam took a breath. “I don’t know why but I have a thing for goth people”
Ava looked at Violet.
“Really? Is that why you went to the Dark Order?”
“Honestly? Kenny ruined tag teams for me. The Bullet Club went to shit after you were kicked out”
Finn’s eye twitched, remembering how the Young Bucks fucked him over.
“The Bullet Club is nothing to me now. They ruined it!”
“The Elite’s worse, nothing but kissing Kenny’s ass, apparently he was looking to go to Impact and take their top title”
“Thank god the old man bought them, Impact might have been the worse part of my career but AEW would have ruined them” Violet sipped her ice coffee.
Adam sighed.
“I don’t know what happened. One minute he was my brother, now he’s a stranger” Adam said quietly as Ava rubbed his back
"Its okay, your going to take the AEW title from him at All Out." Ava consoled him.
The 2 couples finished their meal and left the restuarant, Finn and Violet heading to the arena to get ready for Smackdown, and Ava and Adam walking though the city streets enjoying each other's company.
"This has been great" Ava says as they finally end up back at the hotel
"We'll have to do it again sometime" Adam replied causing Ava to blush again.
"Maybe next time….just the two of us?" He asked softly
“No demon and vampires. No Dark Order” Ava agreed. Adam hugged her.
“Adam!” Evil Uno yelled. The pair looked at the stable. Anna walked over. “Well, the date was a success so Alex made you this” She handed a black jacket to Ava. It had a purple rose stitched in the back.
“Wow, Alex’s a suckup” Adam joked. “I’m totally wearing this next week” Anna smiled.
“C’mon Adam, before the idiots start screaming”
He rolled his eyes but hugged Ava goodbye, kissing her hair before walking away.
The Next Week
After spending the weekend and into the next week bouncing between elation over her successful date with Adam (including spending a hefty amount of time texting back and forth with the cowboy) and annoyance that Kenny just would not stop texting and calling, it was finally Wednesday and time for that weeks episode of Dynamite, at which Ava had a match against Nyla Rose.
Over the past few days she had gone hunting for more appropriate gear to compliment her new jacket and was now wearing black leather shorts with purple accents and a purple and black corset top.
"Don't you look like a full fledged member of the misfit society, I really thought you'd have better taste Sweetheart" Kenny said walking up to her, the Young Bucks flanking him
“I’ve liked purple and black before the Dark Order existed” Ava snapped.
Kenny grabbed her arm. “Let go!”
“I just want what’s best for you” Kenny said fiercely
“HEY!” Darby Allin hit Kenny with a skateboard.
“She’s said no to you for weeks now, get lost!” He roared, Ava seeing why Mox had pretty much adopted him.
Kenny looked panicked and all but ran. The Bucks, glaring at her as the followed
“Thanks” Ava said to Darby. “I hate that fucker”
"Join the club" Darby replied
Later that night after beating Nyla Rose, Ava was celebrating in the ring when Kenny's music hit and The Elite surrounded the ring.
"I really tried to do this in private Ava, baby but you just won't listen to me, you'd rather hang out with those losers instead of being part of The Elite"
“I. Am. Not. Your. Baby!” Ava screamed,.
Kenny stepped in, smirking. “Just accept the date”
The crowd began chanting variations of yes and no.
Then the music of the Dark Order hit, Adam leading the stable to a beat down. Colt tackled Kenny, Adam waving sarcastically at him before going over to Ava, "You okay Darlin?"
"Yeah, fucking asshole. Why won't he leave me alone"
"Ava, Ava!" Kenny panted, "I have a deal for you, since you and the drunk, seem so close lately, Next week….you and Adam against me and Britt Baker. You win, you get a title shot at All Out. You two lose, Cowboy loses his shot, and you go out with me"
Ava looked at Adam, who was clenching his jaw. Anna and Evil Uno nodded their heads.
Ava grabbed a mic. “We accept! And let’s raise the stakes!!! If we win and move on to kick you asses at All Out, you leave me the fuck alone!”
Kenny gulped "Done!"
“I’ll add to that!” Adam yelled. “When I kick your ass, you don’t get to have a rematch as long as I’m champion. Let someone else get an opportunity”
"Deal!" Kenny said cockily "It doesn't matter anyway "You two are gonna lose and when you do...not only will Adam never get a shot at the AEW Championship, Ava...baby...your all mine"

Rowing the Rarepair Rowboat: Fleurdora/Delatonks | Nymphadora Tonks x Fleur Delacour
Requested by @halfthealphabet
The Order slowly trails into Grimmauld Place, one by one, all with the air of people living through a zombie apocalypse. Grim, weary expressions on every face.
Molly's bustling around as soon as she lays eyes on them, ushering them into the living room where the fire spreads a pleasant warmth into their bones. They certainly need it. Duelling a group of rogue Death Eaters is not exactly what any of them wanted to be doing at three in the morning, in the pouring rain.
Tonks is practically slumped as they join them, Fleur walking in beside them with Fred and Sirius somewhere behind.
"Damn fanatics," Moody growls, taking his frozen eye from its socket, motionless when it should be spinning.
"You'd think they'd have a bit of common sense considering their dark lord has been well and truly dead for a good year now," says George, flinging himself onto one of the crimson armchairs.
All of the old dark green ones (and pretty much everything that represented Slytherin, really) were thrown out by Sirius after the battle at the Ministry. Decided that if he was going to come that close to death at the hands of his own family again, he wasn't going to be stuck surrounded by constant reminders of them. Tonks happily helped him replace everything, since he needed someone who could actually leave the house. The tapestry is still proving to be a bit of a pain, but they've managed to rework it a bit, so it highlights the "disowned" and excluded members and has a majority of the blood-purists replaced with far more worthy members of the family they've created for themselves, or simply burned off instead.
Tonks shrugs their denim jacket off as Bill agrees. He looks the most tired out of them all, aside from Remus. He's not a full werewolf, but the full moon being only days away still seems to affect him almost exactly the same as it does for Remus, who becomes irritable and drained.
"They seem to think, he was "resurrected" to power once before, they can make it happen again," Bill says, shaking his head as he gingerly pulls his sleeve back to inspect the large patch of blood soaking through from a relatively deep cut; the work of a nasty jinx. "Too scared to desert after last time, in case he pops back up again and they land themselves on his bad side."
"They are idiotic," Fleur fumes. Her blouse has been severly singed around the collar and Tonks can't help but worry at a glimpse of blistering skin beneath it.
"Did you manage to get all of them?" Harry asks. "Anyone get away?"
Tonks had barely noticed he was there at all. He was just quietly watching in concern from a chair in the far right corner of the room, with Hermione in the one beside him next to the fire and Ron and Ginny between them, planted cross-legged on the floor. They seem like they were trying to keep Mrs Weasley distracted while the rest of them were out; now that Mr Weasley is back, her attention is fully captured, worrying over the cuts lining his face but with subtle relief shining in her eyes.
"Nearly," Sirius answers, with an undertone of bitterness as he adds, "One disapparated before we could get the bastard. Right after leaving me with this lovely little gift."
He grabs the collar of his shirt that's just as torn and burned and stained with blood as the rest of theirs, and yanks it down at the left to reveal a deep, long gash running right across his collarbone, stopping somewhere down his chest. It's not bleeding, but smoking. And it’s dark green rather than red.
There's an outburst of disgusted noises as well as gasps and a couple of cries.
"You git!" Tonks chides him, slapping his good arm lightly. "You never said they got you!”
"I didn't—you're—“ Sirius tries to say, sounding indignant, but he can't seem to find a good comeback.
Mrs Weasley's attention is immediately focused on him, pushing him towards the door into the kitchen before anyone can ask any further questions so that she can fix it up, something apparently too gruesome for any of them to bear witness.
"We'll catch him, don't worry," Bill says. The statement and the gentle smile seem to be aimed towards the kids. Having been advised to stay out of Order missions for the time being, to readjust and make up for their missed exams, they still look anxious, like they're going to be called up to fight at any moment.
But they seem to take some comfort in Bill's words. Everyone does; reassurances don't seem so false anymore now that missions like these are less common and haven't resulted in a fatal injury or even death since the Battle.
As the others fill Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny in on what happened, able to joke a little more now that they're here and winding down from the fight, Tonks catches Fleur trying to assess the damage beneath her shirt as discreetly as possible.
Tonks moves over to her, gently catching her elbow and motioning her head to the door that Mrs Weasley and Sirius left through. They both leave the others in the room to head out into the hallway, where there is thankfully no longer the constant risk of setting off Walburga's shrieking portrait; took a while to find the right spells to remove it, but they managed in the end.
"Are you okay?'" Tonks asks, referencing the wound. "I didn't realize they'd got you. What did they hit you with?"
"I'm not sure," Fleur admits, but she's able to pull the corner of her shirt down better to get a proper look now that she's away from the rest of the Order. She winces, peeling the fabric from the wound, which sticks to it.
It comes away enough to reveal a marred patch of skin below her collarbone and spreading down far enough that it seems to have knocked the spell she usually has on right off.
"I thought something didn't feel right," Fleur says, and winces again when she lightly presses her fingers an inch from the area to test it.
Tonks grimaces in sympathy and only just manages to keep their hands away, having been instinctively going to reach out and offer some form of comfort that would probably only result in making it worse.
“Looks like a simple jinx,” says Tonks, “maybe even just a hastily fired Incendio. Seen a few people panic in duels before, just fire off the first thing that comes to mind. Luckily, it must have bounced off the spell already on you, else could it have been a lot worse than just burning your shirt and, well, this.”
Fleur agrees. “I am beginning to think I need a more permanent solution that that spell, though. It’s not exactly the most reliable, and, truthfully, I’ve never exactly been the best at Transfiguration.”
Tonks grins, pulling out their wand. “Ah, well, it’s not an essential subject.”
“Says the one who can change everything about their appearance at will,” Fleur retorts, but there’s a flicker of a smile on her face.
“True,” Tonks says, as Fleur carefully peels back a little more of her shirt. “But the mediwizards at St. Mungo’s do a pretty good job, too. I have a friend there, particularly skilled in more permanent solutions for trans wizards and witches, like I mentioned, if you wanted to give that another thought? Right, this counter spell.”
Fleur gives another grimace as Tonks points their wand a couple of inches from the wound. She steels herself though, pressing her lips into a line.
With the, thankfully right, incantation and wave of their wand, a small cloud of pale yellow settles over the burned skin. It clings around it for a moment long enough for Fleur to hiss slightly, then it sinks in and a new layer of skin forms over the top until it’s smooth.
Fleur lightly touches her skin, testing for any sign of pain. None seems to come. Her expression settles as she sighs, then a smile is back on her face.
“Thank you,” she says, lifting her eyes to Tonks.
“‘Course,” Tonks says, grin widening with a wink. “I’m your assigned Order partner, remember? I should have been covering you in the first place, especially as I’m also you’re... well, out of Order partner. There has to be a better way to say that.”
Fleur says nothing, just gazing fondly at them, her eyes twinkling. She lays a hand on Tonks’ arm and says, “I can look after myself. But I appreciate this. And the offer. I think I’m ready to take you up on it.”
Tonks smiles and nods. “Okay. Tomorrow, we can stop by, my friend should be in then. You wanna head home the now—“
At that moment, George pops his head around the corner, looks left down the corridor, then right.
“We’re crashing here. More rooms and all that,” George explains. “You two staying as well, or are we getting more coffee and Mum’s breakfast buffet to ourselves?”
Tonks scoffs immediately, then glances at Fleur, who rolls her eyes but nods in a silent confirmation. Turning back to George, Tonks says, “We’ll stay as well. I’m sure Sirius would say the more the merrier, right?”
Fleur makes a little noise, as if disagreeing, and George snorts. But they all make their way back in to join the rest of them, and Sirius and Mrs Weasley return shortly after, though with Sirius looking considerably paler and prodding at the now thin line standing out on his chest every few seconds then wincing. He doesn’t, in fact, mind some of them staying.
They remain in the living room for another hour or so, until the exhaustion kicks back in (or more accurately, when Ginny falls asleep and accidentally kicks an also sleeping Fred in the shin). Then they slowly split off to claim a guest room or head home. Tonks and Fleur takes the room reserved for Tonks’ visits, and are out cold within ten minutes.

He already threw a "Manes' man" dagger at him. I just dont feel we'll get a satisfying arc with Alex :/ but we'll see
See, that’s the thing, with this fandom, it feels like everything is turned to black and white. He said this horrible thing, therefore there’s no fixing it. They did this horrible thing, so there’s no moving on from that. By all means, feel however you want about the show, about the characters, about malex, but...
The best way to describe how I’m feeling is by restating something Luke Baines (Jonathan Morgenstern from Shadowhunters) once said in an interview that’s really resonated with me. He said the biggest problem we as a generation face is that we’re so quick to throw people away nowadays because they hurt us, while some of his best friends are only his best friends because of all the ups and downs they’ve had. That translates well to this, I think, in that people look at this thing Michael said, therefore he’s nothing but toxic and their relationship is doomed. Alex blames himself, therefore Michael is terrible for him and the relationship is doomed. Nothing is in black and white, nothing. That’s just how I personally see it. To condemn the relationship because he said something, because the road for them hasn’t been easy, because he’s kept walking away -- I just don’t see it that way. I can’t say I understand where these fears really come from because I, like Luke Baines, agree that the biggest problem we have nowadays is that we are so quick to cancel things out. I get not wanting to deal with things that hurt us, that cause us pain, but at the same time, you need that pain because otherwise, every little thing seems to cause a lot more damage than it actually does.
I will confess here, for the first time I think, that I have severe anxiety, and I disassociate a lot. Anyone who also goes through this knows how stressful and frightening and hard it is just to make a meal in the day. And, I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this, but I prefer the tough love method. I ask my friend to reassure me with these exact words, and I’m not kidding; “Rin, you’re being stupid, this is stupid, everything is going to be fine.” It makes me feel better to recognize what what I’m feeling is irrational and is ridiculous, it gives me cause to scoff at it myself. I’ve never coddled anyone on my blog, I don’t think I have, I’ve never sugar-coated anything. For that reason, and because I genuinely care, I’m not going to tell you you’re being too sensitive if you cancel out malex for the things that have happened in this episode. I will, however, tell you this; the world is not in black and white, and when they do get together (because, again, I fully believe they’re endgame, I believe Carina wants them together), all this little stuff is going to seem so insignificant. There’s no such thing as a purely good person, and you can tell me you understand that, but if you don’t see that even the best of people are capable of having the cruelest of darkness in them, then you simply don’t understand it.
All I’m saying is, my love for you guys is a tough one. If you’re going to hate malex or be disappointed with it at every word or sentence, no matter how cruel, then you’re going to be disappointed a lot. I understand the majority of people don’t like tough love, I also understand that some people would rather not bother with malex if it’s going to keep upsetting them, and that’s completely valid (I don’t like that word because I think it gets tossed around a lot, but I’m using it here because it actually makes sense), but if you want genuine reassurance that Malex is going to be okay, that everything is going to be totally fine, then I give that to you. I give you my reassurance because people aren’t black and white, there’s no right way for those two to be together. I don’t want them talking to each other like they’re made of glass, I want them being them. Alex can handle Michael, it’s that simple -- Alex is the only one that’s ever been able to handle him. We’re going to face a lot of anger and frustration and tears along the way, absolutely, but if we didn’t, there’d be no story, no characters. So I’ll take this. I love this. It’ll all be okay.

I never thought I'd write about "love" again but here I am
You ever been with someone you can never "be with?" A friendship that you know has much more to offer but also too much to lose?
Crap, it's that cheesy romcom cliché from Christmas 2008. My Jai has fallen for an Aditi. And I'm mulling about whether we should have that "talk" when we Zoom tonight.
Maybe they'll explain that they don't see me that way and this would complicate things. Heck, maybe they'll point out how we're from different backgrounds, countries, jobs, and religions - and I'll have to clarify that it's these differences I love the most. It's starting to feel like a Toastmaster's debate.
If I have to be both realistic and happy, I'm hoping that they'll smile, appreciate me for sharing my feelings, and promise to help me get over it eventually. Such mature discussion. Much wow.
Scenarios. Scenarios. Scenarios. As I'm slinging through the multiverse created by my anxiety-ridden, 23-year-old brain, I have to say that there's something different about this person that's keeping me awake. There has to be.
Because I thought I left behind this topic in my emo teen phase. With poems that I took the effort to rhyme lmaoooo. But its almost after an entire decade that I'm finding myself chirping down this path again. Spring in my step and all. So the writer in me is definitely curious.
See first of all, there wasn't a love-at-first-sight moment. It wasn't full of butterflies and crazy adventures. In fact, I can't pinpoint a specific day when I understood that I wanted more. There weren't any explosive fireworks. The hunch grew more like five sips of chai. Normal, comforting, simple. Like how you move into a new house and then it eventually becomes your home for no good reason. And you get into a cozy routine.
I have spent so much time in their company doing jackshit. This one day we camped in our university's library. On our own laptops doing our own assignments. When the guards told us it was time to leave, we walked out talking about how well-spent the day was and we should definitely do it again.
It's not like we haven't had fun together. We've hung out, flown to new cities. We've eaten with forks at fancy brunches and also ravaged through banana leaf buffets like Savannah lions.
We've also had the craziest of talks. From junk gossips to deep philosophical musings at 3AM. They once looked down at the dimly lit highway and told me how every passing car must have people with complex lives and stories that we'll never hear. Trippy? Well, you should see our chats, you'd think we're in the stratosphere.
But floating in between all that noise are many blank pages that weigh just as much. Silences I never felt obligated to fill. Sometimes, we just lie around and chill.
Which tells me that this new kind of love I'm discovering ... this love isn't all shining and glamorous. After all that excitement fades away, there's a cozy blanket of silence that takes over. You don't have to go on extravagant holidays to relax. You don't have to buy each other costly gifts to feel special. You don't have to upload Stories of everything you do together. There's nothing to prove to the world, nothing to show off.
Instead, it's the simple gestures. They're both noticed and reciprocated. The person's company is more than enough. And you no longer have to do only wild things to feel like you had a good time.
If you can feel happy cutting a cupcake in the dark and call it a party, when its not even your birthday, that's when you realize they're the one.
Mind you, even if there's comfort, there's also discomfort. I like that we call each other out on our bullshit. They don't just pretend to agree with all my decisions or opinions because I'm their best friend. In fact, there are so many things we do openly disagree on and also furiously debate about.
We also hold each other accountable for our mistakes. I have a loud mouth and when I leak something in a public conversation that I shouldn't have, they will remind me that I can do better.
This could've been a toxic or abusive thing where we're constantly pushing each other's buttons. But its not the case because toxic relationships rely on fear. The fear of causing damage. But when we discuss our issues, we're not afraid of permanently ruining or breaking things.
We understand that we cannot realistically always like each other. Sometimes, I will hate her. And I'll say it. They'll say they hate me even more. Sometimes I'll be so pissed off at something silly they did. But I won't feel bad or guilty about it. We respect these negative emotions and agree that we can be imperfect and kinda off on some days. These fleeting currents and tiny problems don't threaten our bond. I speak for both of us when I say we have this unbreakable faith that we'll always be able to 'work it out together.'
When you call someone your 'loved one,' it means they're signing up for the whole package. Which occasionally includes confusion, misunderstandings, disappointment, and hurt.
If you can openly talk about all your feelings and problems without having to worry about losing them, that's when you realize they're the one.
But all that said, I think the most special thing about this special person is how they make me want to be better without ever having to push me ahead.
What I mean is that they're a forever fan. At gatherings, they'll take me around like I'm Barack Obama and introduce me to all their friends, raving about the 'cool projects' I'm working on this year. They're my biggest cheerleader, hyper-supporter, and meme-liker to the point of cringe. When I'm down and sobbing about how I suck, they'll tell me to shut up and refuse to believe that I'm anything less than the best.
I feel immensely relaxed knowing that I'll always be good enough for them, even when I'm not good enough for myself. See, it's not a conditional contract. There's this underlying assurance that they'll be cheering me for me even when I'm behind, even when I finish last. I don't have to constantly worry about proving myself to them or living up to their 'expectations.'
A relationship of any kind and degree shouldn't feel constantly challenging, uncomfortable, and stressful. That kind of bullshit is often sold under the guise of tough love or training. But you shouldn't feel like you're dragging yourself to please or impress the person.
Because love is safety. It's like a soft sandpit in which we can become kids again and build whatever the fuck we want to. And when we have no power left, it's a force that burns through every fiber of our soul and gives us that last bit of fire to hold on. "Hold on," it says, "We're almost there."
This safe zone my special person has created without even realizing it ... it just makes me want to push myself every day. Their fierce belief in me makes me want to fight, even when I don't want to do it for myself. In fact, it was this person who once told me that we can't always love ourselves and that's why we need friends who can remind us of how worthy we are.
If they make you feel empowered to chase your dreams fearlessly, you know they're the one.
Now that I've said these things out loud, I guess I know that they're really the one.
But I don't feel prepared to tell them yet so I'm going to wait for some more time. I'm not rushing into things. It's perfectly acceptable. And anyway, I'm not worried about being too late. I won't regret telling them right away.
You know how I'm so sure?
Because love is, above all, friendship. And I have it right here, right now.
