WIP Wednesday

Today’s wip actually an idea that I had with a comment from one my friends from my Storyboarding class. As I was explaining the scene to the class, one of my friends states as he was looking at the book cover of Carry On: “Oh look at this hot guy with his sword, I’m ready to be swooned and then there is this Edward Cullen mfer here too.” Which after I though a tiny bit about it, brought a cursed idea in my head:

“Beautiful? This is the skin of a killer, Simon.”

Akane-kantoku tweeted more about Escaflowne recently, posting a beautiful unknown sketch of Hitomi by the late Hiroshi Osaka he came across in an old file, and also a photo of young himself “working on Escaflowne’s storyboards/scripts while crying”, saying it could be a hint for him to stay motivated.

Jeff McGarland is the producer Heinz pitches Doof N Puss to in Nerds of a Feather, voiced by the creator of Family Guy. 

Up on the windowsill, look! It’s a tchotchke! It’s a freshly-baked blueberry pie that’s gonna get stolen by neighborhood hoodlums if you don’t watch it! It’s Planty the Potted Plant!

More stationary than the Danville Highway at rush hour, more photosynthetic than your average garden plant, able to beat evil scientists in a single swing, this amazing specimen of organic life from Ztrimhsnefood Good Incorporated, the Plant of Steel: Planty the Potted Plant! Possessing the power of cellular respiration, Planty the Potted Plant fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the Plantian way!

“Thank you for not tying me up like a loony fan. I get way too many of those,” Jeff McGarland sighed. “Especially after the mid-season twist of The Platypus and His Girlfriend. Those were dark days. Very dark days…”

He shuddered.

“So while I love your pitch, I think I have a better idea that’ll really send your ratings sky high!” McGarland exclaimed. “Let’s add in a girlfriend! Something alliterative, like Peony or Petunia the Potted Plant. They’ll greenlight us in no time!”

Planty looked at him, or at least he thought it did, because Planty had no eyes.

McGarland sat back in his chair, waiting for Planty to make its move. “If you decide to go for it in the next five minutes, I can get my team of spider monkeys working on the scripts right away. We’ll churn out at least two hundred episodes jam-packed with crude humor, unlikable characters, and poor animation by lunch!”

Planty crossed its leaves.

“You’re a non-mobile plant. It’s not like a giant rabbit-dog-naked mole rat-cyborg-crystalline-recombinant lifeform is just gonna fall out of the sky to stop me from claiming credit for your storyboard!” McGarland exclaimed, snatching the storyboard off its stand.

The ceiling caved in before he could break for the exit.

Lo and behold, a giant rabbit-dog-naked mole rat-cyborg-crystalline-recombinant lifeform fell out of the sky, pinning McGarland under its huge feet.

It ripped up the storyboard and ate it, and Planty thanked (at least I think it did) the monster for saving its idea from a terrible fate.

The end...or is it? 

AN: I have a low opinion of adult animation, in case you couldn’t tell.

After the tutorial today i realized that i am going down a path that isn't my style at all. I'm focusing too much on image manipulation and it isn't getting me anyway. After speaking to the tutors, we came up with other ideas for me to peruse; I prefer drawing and illustrating so much more in comparison to photography so i should follow this route more as it will be more enjoyable for me.

Next steps:

- look at scripts of film death scenes

-style of a script

-illustrate it? - camera angles - emotions - body language

How else do i find/create imagery?

- cut out films by hand

-character deaths

-storyboard artists, graphic novels

-east london comic arts festival

Now working toward hopefully starting my second bachelor’s come fall, this time in Animation so that I can be a visual development/storyboard artist.

Guest Comic #5 by Sam King! - - - Read from the beginning!

Today's beautiful comic, and the last guest comic of the break, is by the wonderful and incredible Sam King!

Sam King is a super talented and super lovely friend and artist. She currently works for Cartoon Network as a storyboard artist on the show Clarence. If you couldn't already tell, Sam's art, pacing, acting, and characterization is outstanding, and I absolutely love her ability to take new characters under her wing and make them so loveable and so original to her style.

Sam has put out two mini comics that I can't recommend enough: Peony's Kiss and Chaotic Neutral: An Anxiety Zine I had the chance to purchase Sam's anxiety zine last year, and it made a huge impact on me, and helped me learn a lot about myself. Both comics are free on gumroad, but I encourage you to throw some money Sam's way- especially if you enjoyed today's guest comic!

Yo, sorry not a chapter just me practicing my SKILLS! HEYA! Anyways if you read my fanfic you will know which part this is. Yeaaaaah I’m very slow, I’ve been busy and also been distracted lately anyways I’m working on a small storyboard I did the background in which I’m very proud of. This is my way of figuring out animation.

The bite scene never left my mind, so I'm animating...maybe first the bases and then I can start this.

Like THEY ARE SO CUTE OH LORD! Like Wukong is a sneaky cheeky flirty destructive trickster monkey that he makes Duzhe question their relationship and HE LIKES THAAAAT He loves their reactions, and is like a monkey curious. He's most likely a type of spider monkey. I DON'T KNOW I'm still trying to see what kind of relationship they would have. AAAHHH

It not supposed to be professional it just for fun and also because it helps me plan out what I want in the animation. Also mosquito are back and I hate it!

God Games | Aisling & Seraph | Oc storyboard

GUESS WHO’S BAAAAACK AND WITH A STORYBOARD ANIMATIC!?!? OH MY GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING it 1 minute and I’m so proud of it. This was my homework for my animation class I am so proud of it and I am almost free the only downside is that I might have failed this semester I only passed a few class but I still failed. I’m so ashamed of myself honestly.

I think I will have to repeat those classes again one I don’t mind BUT THE OTHER I DO THE OTHER ONE I DONT LIKE IT ALL I AAAAHHH IT STRESSES ME OUT anyways I’ll be back with oc drawings and all those things I promise

Wip Wednesday!

Thank you to @hushed-chorus for tagging me this week!

Even though it’s Thursday here (thanks Australia), still wanted to post something.

I am currently doing some things that I’m not able to show as of yet so I’ll just share this abandoned WIP I started around April lolol. I am also still going to fix the storyboard and post it (probably this weekend if I’m lucky).

Also non-Carry On related: I am currently preparing for a convention that’s this October so my schedule is PACKED trying to get art from different fandoms like Deltarune, Omori and many others. Have the Sunny/Omori charm I’m planning:

Funny that both of these have trauma-filled violin players.
