A shaky breath escaped your lips as you clustered with the remainder of the crew. Yet, despite your apprehension, your gaze was drawn to the protective curse, its ink shifting and morphing into myriad fantastical creatures. You observed the pilgrims, their discontent and ire manifesting in heated words, glaring down at you all in disgust. Then, your eyes fell upon the Brotherhood. Yellowtusk, once a formidable demon with a gold heart, now bore a gaze that bespoke a fierce desire to strike you from where you stand. You had abandoned the Brotherhood during the assault on the Jade Emperor. Such a betrayal was unforgivable. You were branded a coward.

Yet, an all too familiar voice caught your attention, making you separated from the group. You stood paralyzed in astonishment as you confronted Peng. The birdlike demon emitted a bitter laugh, their glowing blue eyes fixing you with a malevolent glare. No, you could not succumb to this illusion. It was merely the scroll's curse, merely an ink demon, not...not your friend. You tried to seek out MK, or Mei, or anyone who might aid you. But in the newly revealed clearing, there was no one present save you from Peng...or rather, Ink Peng.

“Ah, if it isn’t the cowardly little y/n, even worse then Macaque. Unlike that pathetic rat, you didn’t even join the battle… were you already adamant on leaving the Brotherhood? On leaving me?”

They swung their ji at you, the blade narrowly missing as you leapt aside. They scoffed, using their talons to pin you down, mocking you with cruel laughter.

“Oh, I’m just quivering in fear by you, all mighty and powerful. You didn’t even feel the need to fight! Do you see yourself as better then us, darling?”

You felt the air constrict in your lungs as the ink demon pinned you down. Their talons, though appearing as liquid ink, felt unnervingly lifelike and sharp. You wished to retort but chose to hold your tongue as you looked up at Peng. The inky bird demon grumbled at your silence, releasing you and striking you with their wing.

“You must’ve really lost your power. So pathetic, I swear…” they had scoffed, poking you lightly with their ji.

You rolled your eyes in irritation, attempting to swat the weapon away, only for it to dissolve into ink and then rematerialize as Peng lunged to strike once more, halting a mere instant before impaling you. They laughed, seizing you by the chin and forcing you to look up at them. “You abandoned us to our fate, never once trying to save or free us. Free me. I believed you considered me your… 'best friend.' Clearly, you do not deserve that title at all, little bug.”

The ink demon version of your old comrade suddenly tightened their grip on your chin, then rested their inky yet feathered head against you, giggling mischievously. Their ji remained pointed directly at you. If they pressed just a little too hard…

“Oh, you don’t plan on fighting back? Hm. I should strike you where you stand, stupid worm, if only you hadn’t left me….”

You looked back with a mix of remorse and anger. You yearned to despise this distorted version of your comrade, to push them away and return to your new friends... but the strange warmth emanating from their inky feathers gave you pause. You allowed them to lean on you, even though you were perilously close to being impaled and killed.

This moment with Ink Peng was abruptly interrupted by a loud yell. You presumed it was Mei, slashing her way into the clearing with a new sword. You stared at her in astonishment, even more so when everyone else rushed toward you. But when you turned back to look at the bird demon... they had vanished, as if the protective curse from the scroll had never been near you at all…

Lmk Ghost AU - Shadowpeach x Reader

I've been watching scenes from a show called ghost. They are stuck in my head so what so I do? Make a new AU obviously. With many obvious changes but that is where the main inspiration is from.

Not gonna make a fanfic of it... yet but I wanna put the idea out there for this. At least not a full several chapter fanfic.

Reader has inherited a house from her recently passed away grandmother. A huge mansion out in the mountains, being a broke graduate student she takes the house.

She along with her best friend Spirit move into the house. After a long debate, Spirit doesn't want to leave her alone.

Reader loves the house as soon as she walks through the doors. Unaware that the place is haunted by dun dun dun ghosts! (Didn't see that one coming, did you?)

Anyways Spirit is a glamoured monkey demoness so she is able to see the ghosts. Of course she ignores them at first until she realizes something strange.

These ghosts are able to actually touch and affect the living realm. She finds this out when she is separated from Reader and can't warn her soon enough.

Sun Wukong and The Six Eared Macaque are curious about the two people 'intruding' on their home. But think Reader is cute and follow her around until...

An accident happens with some artifacts that Reader finds and Reader falls unconscious. She wakes up to Spirit freaking out and getting her up.

However when she wakes up there are more people than just Spirit in the room.

Said people are the Brotherhood and the pilgrims. (In this au, Wukong and Macaque were NOT immortal)

Spirit: Reader, Reader wake up!!

Reader: *Wakes up seeing ghosts around her*

Wukong: Looks like she's alive.

Peng: Obviously, she's alive. *Rolling their eyes*

Tang: Oh, thank goodness. Why would you even allow for her to enter the library!?

Macaque: Oh shut it Monk.

Reader: Who are all these people!?

Ghosts: She can see us!?

Spirit: Reader what do you- Reader!!

Reader: *passes out before Spirit can finish.*

The ghosts are shocked and want to know more. None of them have been able to speak with the living for ages.

They can move objects around, such as moving small objects. And each have their own 'ghost power' (still working on who gets what power), but other than that, they can't do anything to the world.

The artifact that affected Reader also allows her to touch the ghosts and them her. Why? Because I say so. This means that many of the ghosts take this opportunity to scare her.

At first, they try to make her leave (don't know why yet), but by the time they convince her to leave, they actually want her to stay! Unfortunately when she wants to leave they want her to stay.

So it becomes a fight to get her to stay! Hehe~ Maybe they shouldn't threaten to kill her. 😅

You’re casually like, "Yeah, I’m a Pixiu." And he’s just staring at you with a blank expression, still processing the fact that you broke four of his ribs with one slap, and you barely even noticed.

“I mean... not everyone gets smacked through a mountain on their first date... But hey, no biggie, right?!”

He’s laughing nervously while secretly holding his ribs.

But, plot twist, this only makes him like you more. Wukong is head over heels for how badass you are. In fact, being a Pixiu just cranks up the dial on his simping by 1000%. Expect an endless stream of over-the-top, cheesy pick-up lines.

“Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”

“Are you saying I’m Satan?”

“Uh—😨… no?”

Oh, but wait, it gets better. The minute you start doubting your horns, wings, or tail, Wukong is on you like a PR campaign. He’s already giving you a pep talk while admiring every single feature.

“You’re telling me you don’t think your horns are gorgeous? Horton hears a lying ass bi—”

If you try to hide your wings, he’s instantly pouting. He’ll say stuff like, “But they’re so cool! Why would you hide those?!” He’s so fascinated by all your Pixiu traits that his eyes start sparkling like a fanboy.

If you keep them visible, though? Oh, he cannot stop staring. His tail’s wagging, legs swinging, head resting on his hands while his eyes follow your wings around like he’s hypnotized. It’s borderline embarrassing.

One time you caught him just absentmindedly trying to groom your tail like it’s his. He immediately stopped, awkwardly laughing, “Uh, force of habit?” Sure, Wukong.

He's so interested about your stories since your older than him—Wait...You have a criminal history..?

Not that he's complaining. In fact, even though you introduced yourself by nearly decapitating him, it might be the closest thing to a love story he’s ever had. Macaque is the type of emotionally-damaged guy who equates physical damage with affection. Yeah, he’s a mess.

Poor monkey, lettuce pray for him 🙏🏼.

What really makes him melt, though? Your tail. If you two ever sit close, Macaque will wrap his tail around yours, and it’s the cutest thing ever. It’s so natural for him to do it, and he doesn’t even notice he’s doing it until you do.

“Uh… Macaque? Your tail.”

He glances down, sees them tangled together, and casually says, “Oh. Right. My bad…”

You raised an eyebrow.

“…Or maybe it’s not.”

He tries to play it cool, but deep down, he lives for that tiny connection. His love language is physical touch and acts of kinda violent service, so expect him to drag you into playful sparring matches constantly.

Fighting with you helps him relax. You both get to blow off steam, even if he limps away with a broken leg afterward. “So worth it,” he grumbles, giving you a smug grin through his bruises.

“Oh? You’re still standing? Guess I went easy on you.”

“You’re on crutches, Macaque.”

One of his favorite things is getting to ask you for wisdom since you’re older and wiser. Sometimes it’s serious, and other times… it’s not.

He’s not just curious—he’s obsessed. You’re a rare being, and Azure is the kind of guy who appreciates rare and powerful things. He’s practically asking for a Pixiu 101 crash course.

“Tell me everything—do you guard treasures? Can you summon storms? How many mountain ranges can you break in half?”

You blinks slowly with a neutral expression, “I mean, I once broke a boulder with my face.”

Azure is swooning, “Magnificent..”

If you ever feel self-conscious about your wings, tail, or horns, don’t. He treats them like royal artifacts. He might even get you a personalized grooming set for your horns. He's noble but extra.

Azure’s #1 Rule: Never let anyone disrespect you. If someone so much as looks at you funny, he’s already plotting their demise. "They don't deserve to breathe the same air as you."

“Azure, calm down—”

He’s also super down for showing off his own lion mane in exchange for some wing flexing. "Let me know if you need help grooming your wings. I am, after all, quite experienced with luxurious hair."

When you drop the Pixiu bomb, Yellowtusk doesn’t react in a flashy way. He’s the most chill out of the bunch. He’ll nod thoughtfully, like he’s piecing together a puzzle that suddenly makes sense.

“So that explains how you broke that solid gold staff with one hand.”

“Wait, you noticed that?”

Tusk; casually sipping tea, “Of course. It was a decent staff too.”

He doesn’t say much, but you can tell he’s quietly impressed. He may not get all up in your business like the others, but when you two are alone, he’s soft.

He’ll sit with you in silence, enjoying the peace—because really, he’s not about the chaos the others tend to bring. Plus, he loves listening to your stories about ancient times, nodding here and there, occasionally offering a small smile.

If your wings ever get tired, he’ll immediately notice and offer a massage with zero hesitation, “You overworked yourself again, didn’t you?”

He’ll never say it, but he lowkey loves it when you flex your strength—especially when it comes to defending him or others. But when you do, he’ll just give you a simple, understated compliment.

“Impressive. As usual.”

Peng nearly drops his weapon when you casually tell him you’re a Pixiu. His initial reaction? A tsundere mess.

“Hmph, so what if you’re a Pixiu? Not like it’s a big deal,” he says, crossing his arms and looking away with a dramatic huff. His face is 90% red though.

But underneath that "I don’t care" exterior, you know he’s mentally screaming. You just became 10x cooler in his eyes, and he doesn’t know how to handle it. He’ll act like he’s not impressed, but you’ll catch him sneaking glances at your wings, especially when you stretch them out.

“Hey, stop staring.”

“I-I’m not staring! Why would I stare at you?!”

If you fight together, Peng gets super excited, pushing you to unleash your full power.

“I bet you can’t even keep up with me,” he teases. But deep down, he’s hoping you obliterate whatever enemy you’re facing in the most brutal, glorious way possible. When you absolutely wreck shop, he’ll just smirk and say, “I knew you had it in you.”

But if anyone else even thinks about crossing you, Peng’s temper flares.

“What did you just say about them?!”

You might be a Pixiu, but Peng still sees himself as the one who needs to protect you. Not that you need protecting, but it’s cute seeing him get so worked up about it. He’s the type to yell at your enemies while you’ve already knocked them out.

He'll also make snarky comments but immediately regret it when you flash your fangs at him.

“You’re terrifying,” he says with a blush.

“You like it.”

He turns away with an awkward cough.

Brags to the other members about you and encourage them to touch you.

He's a recovering Yandere. Knows he's a yandere and is trying to correct himself.

He warns you when you enter a relationship with him. He is the only yandere that if you ever call him out on his behaviour, he will actually listen and correct himself.

If you break up with him, he makes his friends hold him accountable and he's serious about it.

He is very protective of you, and that includes of himself. He doesn't want his tusk to hurt you.

Unlike Peng, he doesn't want others touching you but he tries to hold in his possessiveness. He does communicate to you he doesn't like it and appreciates it when you go out of your way to not touch other people.

When you wear something scandals, he tries to keep himself in his chair and not touch you.

There's no way you can help in the fight, so he at least wants to ensure you both make it out in one piece

- Yellowtusk, meanwhile, tended to hover around your side out of worry while in the new Jade Emperor's palace. He tried to warn the other two about the impending problems, but it wasn't getting through to them. He turns to you to talk about the situation, hoping for some support, or at least someone who understands where he's coming from

- He finds comfort in your presence, feeling calmer whenever he's around you. The situation as a whole still troubles him, but with you he feels a little safer and less alone

- When he's out trying to reach the heroes, he's thinking of you the whole time. He wants you to be safe, and he doesn't feel that this is the way to do it. That risking tearing apart the universe itself is only harming you more. So he sets out, looking for a way to fix everything, to keep you protected

- Azure was constantly reassuring you that everything was fine. That despite the cracks and jolts of pain, he was okay, and everything was going exactly as he should. You don't believe it, obviously, but while he accepts any attempted help, he still tries to convince you that it's alright

- Even in his crumbling state, he tries to keep you happy. He talks about all the good this is going to do, how this could help them all and how he's so glad you're a part of it with him

- He is slightly more open with you than he is with Peng or Yellowtusk, though. Even if it's through small comments or faltered expressions, he confides in you just a bit. You help to make him feel this is all worth it, because he's doing this for you as well. You just hope that when this is all over, you can finally convince the great lion to relax

A/N: Guys I am SO sorry that it's been so long, I swear...I plan to write more when I get the chance, but school seems to have a tendency to place a hit on my creative mind and strike it down from its position at the top of my head and at the bottom of my heart. Btw this also takes part BEFORE Peng and Yellowtusk get out of the scroll. Before Tang finds out that Azure is bad and whatnot, y'know?

Even though you and the rest of the gang had managed to escape the ink demons before, you were separated once again, each of you thrown into different moments in these cursed scrolls of memory. You found yourself on Flower Fruit Mountain, a place that felt too familiar. This was the day you and the Brotherhood had gathered to discuss overthrowing the Jade Emperor, a day that had been etched into your mind forever. You had your doubts back then, but you kept them buried, fearing the judgment of those around you.

Peng, your closest friend, had been especially eager that day, their voice loud with conviction. "Azure Lion would be perfect on the throne," they had said, without a hint of hesitation. Their fervor had inspired the others, making the plan feel inevitable, but deep down, you had questioned if this was the right path. Still, you stayed silent, watching as the momentum built around their idea.

You didn’t like this memory much. It felt disorienting to be back in a place you knew wasn’t real. The fruit on the table was an illusion, the laughter and arguments of your former Brothers were mere phantoms, and Peng’s mischievous glances—those glances you’d yearned for throughout centuries of separation—were nothing more than a trick of the scroll.

You turned to face them, and you huffed. "Can't I just think for a second?"

Peng, ever the mischief-maker, simply giggled at your exasperation. They nudged you playfully with a grin, their eyes sparkling with amusement as they took another sip from their goblet of wine. "But where's the fun in that?" they teased, leaning closer. "Lighten up, will you? Don’t be such a sorry little rodent like Macaque over here!" They gestured toward Macaque with a mock-serious expression, clearly enjoying their own joke.

You took a second to glance at Macaque, who was shyly sitting next to the past version of Wukong. A scoff escaped your lips. "Don't make fun of him, you feathered oaf."

"Ah, very well then," Peng said with a mischievous glint in their eye. "I have an idea, little bug! How about we take a little time off from this gathering and head up to the mountain peaks? It'll certainly get rowdy soon, and I'd much rather keep my feathers intact." They snickered, glancing back at the chaotic scene unfolding at the table.

The scene was a perfect storm of pettiness and disorder. Wukong was in a heated argument with the Demon Bull King over the potency of their alcohol, while Macaque, though visibly irritated, remained in his seat, trying to ignore the ruckus. Azure Lion was literally dragging Wukong away from the Bull King, as if dealing with a feral cat. As for Yellowtusk, he was nowhere to be seen, and given the state of things, you couldn’t help but think he had made the right choice to leave.

"...fine," you muttered, your voice tinged with resignation. You were still grappling with whether this was a memory or an illusion—this Peng wasn’t real, but their presence felt undeniably genuine. Before you could dwell on it further, Peng took your hand with a playful grin and led you up the mountain peak, their fuchsia eyes shimmering with excitement as they glanced back at you.

"Isn't the view wonderful? Soon enough, we'll have the whole Celestial Realm to look down on! Isn't that...fun?"

You nodded silently, your thoughts heavy. After a moment, you mumbled, "Hey, Peng?"

"Yes, dear?" Peng responded, their voice warm and attentive.

"Is it wrong to feel attached to people who probably hate me now? Why do you think I feel that way?" you asked, your voice tinged with uncertainty.

Peng paused, as if considering your question carefully. Then, a mischievous smile spread across their face. "Because you're an idiot," they said simply.

You froze in surprise as Peng’s image began to dissolve, shifting into dark, feathery pieces of ink and energy. The curse of the scroll was catching up to you sooner than expected.

"A foolish, stupid little idiot," a new voice echoed with a sinister tone. "Hello there, little bug. It seems I’ve finally caught you once more."

You stared at the ink version of your former friend, then took a second to glance at the scenery. The warm lantern hanging on the nearby tree disappeared, leaving only a teal blue and inky black background. The bird demon scoffed, pointing their Ji at you, manifesting it from some ink splatters on the ground.

"It was such a bore trying to locate you, then that scholar, those demons, and that horse dragon girl...irritating, all of it. Luckily for them, I'm going to take my time on you first."

"Stop confusing me! You're not the real Peng, you're just a curse pretending to be them for some pity! Stop it, damn it!" You had yelled, taking a step back.

The inky bird demon clearly didn’t take kindly to your outburst. They surged toward you with alarming speed, their talons swiping dangerously close to your sides. A sinister cackle escaped them, and their teal-glowing eyes rolled with a mockingly feigned innocence.

"I have no idea what you mean by that," the demon crooned, their voice dripping with false sweetness. "Why would you say something like that? Do you not trust me, Y/N? All we've done together, all that we’ve…" They leaned in closer, their warm breath brushing against your neck—a stark contrast to the chill of their appearance. Peng had never been this warm, and a shiver raced down your spine as they continued, "…experienced together…"

You could feel strange droplets falling onto your shoulders, and despite yourself, you remained frozen in place. Tiny, warm ink droplets trickled from the demon's body, a bizarre reminder of their unsettling proximity. Ink Peng's form leaned even closer, their voice a whisper in your ear.

"Doesn't this feel real to you, little bug?" they taunted, their tone laced with a twisted satisfaction.

You remained silent, the sensation of warm ink enveloping you in its twisted embrace making you shudder. The texture was unsettling, reminiscent of lukewarm oil—slick and unnervingly smooth.

"My, my, so quiet now. How sad," the ink demon tutted, their voice laced with mock sympathy. They nuzzled you with their strange, inky feathers, the touch both alien and intimate, as if trying to draw out a reaction from you.

"Don't… don't pretend to be them," you said, your voice trembling. "You will never be half of my old friend, ever. No matter how many times you look through these memories, you will never compare to—"

You tried to continue, but your breath caught as you felt the blade of the Ji pressing against your throat. The inky metal was almost imperceptibly sharp, just barely piercing your skin. The sting was sharp and immediate, and a tiny droplet of blood began to trickle down from your neck.

"What was that?" the ink demon's voice was tauntingly smooth. "Seems like you're a bit preoccupied with something." Their tone was a cruel mix of amusement and menace, making the situation all the more terrifying.

You gasped as the ink demon applied a bit more pressure to the blade, the sting intensifying as it sliced through your skin. The warmth of your own blood mingled with the cold, inky metal, and for a moment, it seemed as if the end might be near. Your heart raced, and a sharp pain shot through your neck, threatening to suffocate you.

Just as the pain became unbearable, a flash of golden light erupted in the chaos. Tang, the scholar who simply LOVED learning about the legends, appeared out of nowhere with his golden magic staff. His face was pale with fear, but his eyes were locked on you with intense relief. “ACK- hold on, Y/N, I don't know how to work this thing!” he cried out, his voice trembling. The staff emitted a blinding glow as he desperately swung it, catching Ink Peng off guard. In the split second of distraction, Tang’s magic teleported you away from the blade’s edge.

The protective curse around the scroll flared up, irate at the sudden disruption. Ink Peng’s form wavered with irritation as they glared at the spot where you had vanished. Their frustration was palpable, their dark ink swirling with heightened agitation.
