"Industrial Lifting Solutions: Exploring Wire Rope Hoists and Overhead Cranes"
Wire Rope Hoist
The wire rope hoist is a common piece of lifting equipment used in many different sectors to lift and move heavy items. It comprises of a hoisting device that performs the lifting and lowering operations using a wire rope, a drum or sheave, and a motor.
A wire rope hoist has the following essential elements and characteristics:
High-strength wire rope, usually made of steel, is used in the hoisting mechanism to lift the load. A drum or sheave that is attached to the motor is wrapped with wire rope.
Motor: The hoist has an electric motor that powers a drum or sheave, giving it the force needed to raise and lower a load. Both manual and remote control methods are available for controlling the motor. Drum/Sheave: The wire rope is looped around a drum for lifting objects vertically and a sheave for moving objects horizontally. When the motor is running, the drum/sheave, which is attached to the motor shaft, spins, forcing the wire rope to wind up or unwind.
Safety precautions: To ensure the protection of both the operator and the cargo being hoisted, wire rope hoists are built with a number of safety precautions. These could include braking systems to secure the load in the event of a power outage, emergency stop buttons, overload protection devices, and limit switches to avoid overtravel.
Wire rope hoists are available in a variety of load capacities to meet varied lifting needs. They may be modest hoists with a few hundred-kilogram lifting capacities or huge hoists that can lift several tonnes.
Options for Mounting: Depending on the situation, wire rope hoists can be installed in a variety of ways. They can be incorporated into crane systems, mounted on trolleys for horizontal mobility, or positioned on overhead beams or other structures.
Industries like manufacturing, construction, storage, and logistics frequently use wire rope hoists. They are prized for their power, toughness, and adaptability in safely lifting and moving heavy things.
Jib crane
A jib crane is a particular kind of crane that moves, raises, and lowers objects using a horizontal arm known as a jib or boom. It is frequently utilized in industrial settings, building sites, and warehouses where efficient and targeted lifting activities are required. In order to spin or swing horizontally to reach various locations within its working radius, the jib crane is often positioned on a vertical mast or wall.
Here are some essential characteristics and parts of a jib crane:
Jib or Boom: The crane’s horizontal arm that extends from the mast or wall-mounted support is known as a jib or boom. It offers the flexibility and reach needed to shift goods horizontally. The jib has a 180-degree rotational range. Depending on the design and use, the jib can turn 180 degrees or even 360 degrees.
Jib cranes can be fastened to a wall or a column or installed vertically on a mast. The crane is supported by the mast or wall, which also lends stability to lifting operations. A self-supporting foundation and a freestanding design are features of some jib cranes.
Jib cranes have a hoisting mechanism that might be a wire rope hoist, chain hoist, electric or hydraulic winch, or another type of hoisting system. The loads are raised and lowered along the vertical axis using the hoisting mechanism. Depending on the requirements of the crane, the hoist can be either manually or electrically operated.
Jib cranes are made to rotate or swing horizontally to offer coverage inside a predetermined radius. The crane can be rotated manually by the operator turning a handwheel or lever, or it can be propelled by electric or hydraulic motors for simpler and more streamlined operation.
Jib cranes are equipped with control systems that let operators move the crane and manage the lifting and lowering processes. These control mechanisms can be integrated into a central control panel, pendant controls with push buttons, or remote controls.
Jib cranes are offered in a range of load capacities to accommodate various lifting needs. They can be anything from light-duty cranes that have a few hundred kilograms lifting capacities to heavy-duty cranes that can lift several tonnes.
Jib cranes are fitted with safety elements to guarantee secure operations. These could include safety brakes to hold the load in place in the event of a power outage, emergency stop buttons, load limiters to prevent overload, and limit switches to prevent overtravel.
Jib cranes are renowned for their adaptability because they may be employed in a stationary position or in conjunction with other lifting tools, such as overhead cranes or gantry cranes, to cover wider work areas. They are a popular option in many industries because they allow accurate and efficient lifting and moving of items in confined spaces.
Overhead crane, Overhead traveling crane A crane that uses an elevated runway system is called an Overhead crane commonly referred to as an overhead traveling crane or a bridge crane. For lifting and transporting big loads over a predetermined area, it is frequently used in industrial settings, manufacturing facilities, building sites, and warehouses.
Here are some essential characteristics and parts of an overhead crane:
Bridge: The crane’s primary horizontal beam, or bridge, spans the working space’s breadth. End trucks or end carriages that move along the elevated runways generally support it. The hoisting device is supported by and can move horizontally on the bridge.
The hoisting mechanism is in charge of raising and lowering the loads. It could be a hydraulic or electric winch, wire rope hoist, or chain hoist. In order to perform vertical lifting operations, the hoist is mounted on the bridge and moves along the length of the bridge.
Runway System: The crane moves along parallel elevated rails or runways in the runway system. The bridge and end trucks can move horizontally along the runways. Normally, they are fixed to steel beams or columns that are firmly anchored to the framework of the building.
The wheels or rollers that go along the runways are housed in the end trucks or end carriages, which are situated at either end of the bridge. They give the bridge stability and support, allowing it to move horizontally along the system of runways.
Control system: Overhead cranes have control systems that give the operator control over the raising and lowering processes as well as crane movement. These control systems may come with integrated control panels, remote controllers, or pendant controls.
Overhead cranes have a number of safety elements to guarantee secure operations. These might consist of load limiters to prevent overload, emergency stop buttons, limit switches to prevent overtravel, anti-collision technology, and safety brakes to hold the load in place in the event of a power outage.
weight Capacity: Depending on the application’s unique requirements, overhead cranes are available in a wide range of weight capacities, from a few hundred kilograms to several hundred tonnes. The crane’s design, the stability of the supporting structure, and the lifting mechanism employed all have an impact on the load capacity.
In terms of their capacity to handle high loads, cover expansive work areas, and deliver precise and controlled movements, overhead cranes have many advantages. They are frequently utilized in sectors where safe and effective material handling is essential, boosting production and reducing the need for manual labor.

Electric Chain Hoist Manufacturers India
For lifting and lowering heavy loads using a chain or rope, hoists are very useful systems. To complete the task, the chain must roll over a load wheel and the rope must wind around a drum. However, these hoists come equipped with a variety of lifting media. Electric chain hoists are used to lift loads in most industries.
Electric Chain Hoists - Know about their working principle
Modern electric hoists include chain wheels or rope drums, using electricity for smooth performance. They have a closed chain looking like a loop to facilitate the process of lifting a load. For your construction and manufacturing businesses, you can invest in these electric chain hoists. You have to drag the chain to simplify the load-lifting process.
You have to install an electric hoist on an I-shaped steel-rolled beam with a desired height and span. There is a variation in the size of this I-beam based on the span and on the electric hoist’s weight-lifting capacity.
The first functionality of an electric hoist is to turn on the hoist motor, lift the load to a height, and trigger the trolley motor to move the weight. To prevent the fall of the load, there is an electromagnetic brake on the lifting process.
Electric chain hoists are effective in moving heavyweights from one site to another. You can do that with one push of a button. You do not need to engage a super skillful operator to operate this user-friendly system. Thus, you can save money, as you may avoid hiring professionals. The overall operations will turn out to be affordable in the future.
Maintenance Tips and Proper Usage Instructions for Electric Chain Hoists
We, Balbir Singh and Sons, electric chain hoist manufacturers in India have outlined some guidelines for using chains to reduce risk. You will avoid any mishaps by conducting regular inspections.
Oil can be applied to your chain prior to using the electric chain hoist. Depending on how much you use your chain, you'll need to lubricate it more often and use more oil. The electric hoisting chain moves about 2 to 15 meters per minute. This chain's safe rotation is made possible by the integrated brake system. For these electric chain hoists, we have provided additional instructions.
You must not use the hoist if you are not physically fit. The hoist works with safety devices like the limit switch, emergency stop, hook latch, and load brakes. You must ensure that you are familiar with those tools before using this hoist.
Don't re-rate, alter, and change the lifting hardware
Never utilize your typical electric crane framework in an unstable climate.
When lifting a load that exceeds the capacity of your electric chain hoist, it is risky to leave the hoist unattended. The inching operation must not exceed the rated start/stops limit of the motor. The bottom hook of the load chain and the pendant button switch cable must be vertically stable. Never consider the hoist to be one of the welding electrodes.
Choosing a reliable Electric Chain Hoist
Finding a dependable electric chain hoist manufacturer and an electric chain hoist supplier is one of the most crucial steps. To make the best decision, however, it is essential to concentrate on the factors listed below as well.
Load weight: The hoists you need to buy are determined by the load to be lifted.
Lifting speed-You really want to adjust for the fruitful stacking and dumping interaction of materials.
Your working environment: There are some factory environments that can scratch your machinery. For instance, your hoist may begin acting improperly when subjected to extremely high temperatures. Similarly, internal parts freeze and develop cracks at very low temperatures. Your system poses additional risks, including the possibility of short circuits and the erratic temperature changes it experiences frequently.
Lift height: You want to lift your load to a certain height. When selecting the appropriate hoist model, this aspect is crucial. A container has an electric hoist in it. The expanded level means a more drawn-out chain and a greater holder. However, having too many large containers can make it difficult to lift your load.
The duty cycle indicates how long you will be using the hoist. Longevity is related to this factor. Because your system must disperse motor heat, the duty cycle length is one important factor.
One of the best manufacturers of electric chain hoists, chain pulley blocks, manual trolleys, and cranes is Balbir Singh and Sons.

Do you know the crane pendant push button and how does it work?
What is pendant push button:
The pendant push button is used to control the hoist of the EOT crane. The crane pendant is also a part of the overhead crane and this device is also referred to as a crane control unit or crane pendant station. The crane control unit is a very important part of the machine. If any mistakes or errors are found in the machine then the crane maintainer checks the crane pendant station first.
The pendant push button worked on the wired electric mechanism and they don't require a battery like radio remote control. A long cable wire connects the crane pendant and hoists known as crane pendant cable. The cable wire is sling from the overhead crane and hung like a pendant, hence it is called a crane pendant push button. With the help of a this device, the overhead crane can be directed in a specific manner.
How pendant push button switch works:
The crane pendant switch works on the wired electric systems and gets the electric power the same as the overhead crane gets. The pendant push button switch is a handheld device that is operated by the operator from the ground floor. The operator from the ground control and gives the signal to another operator who is sitting in the overhead crane.
When the operator press the button on the crane pendant and the crane passes the line, at that time the operator also has to walk alongside the overhead crane. The overhead crane can be moved in a direction like long travel, cross travel, and hoisting. The host which is attached to the overhead crane is used for loading and unloading the heavy objects.
The buttons present on the crane pendant push button are interlocked in a pair. That means you cannot use pair of a buttons at the same time. If an up button is pressed at that time you cannot use the down button until the crane reaches to upward direction and release the up button. Similar to the up button pendant push button has on, off, up, down, left, right, forward, and backward buttons.
Types of pendant push button control:
The crane pendant push button has different types according to their buttons and they are as follows:
a) 2 Buttons: In this type of device, only buttons are used i.e. on and off buttons.
b) 4 Buttons: The 4 buttons device comprises up, down, start and stop buttons.
c) 6 Buttons: The 6 buttons are configured with the up, down, start, stop, left, and right buttons.
d) 8 Buttons: This type of device comprises the up, down, start, stop, left, right, north, and south directions.
e) 10 Buttons: The 10 buttons type are configured with the start, stop, up, down, left, right, north, south, one-speed version, and two-speed version.
These different types of buttons are used according to their need.
Benefit of crane pendant switch for EOT crane:
The main advantage of the crane pendant is that it fully worked on the wired systems and doesn't need any battery or charging systems. The crane pendant is connected with the hoist and it has many wired routes for communication. And hence if any defects or lag are found in any wired routes then it switches to another route immediately.
While in the radio remote control if the error persists same as the crane pendant, then the radio remote control stops working instantly for signal transmission. The pendant push buttons switch have a very less chance of outsider attack or external interruption due to the wired connectivity. The crane pendant are suspended from the hoist and hence there is no chance of dropping the device or misplacing the device.
Epilogue:
The pendant push buttons are connected with the hoists and they don't need a battery or charging system hence it is widely used. The crane pendant has many features and comes in various button types. With all these points you can go for the crane pendant switch.

What is the Pendant Push Button for cranes?
A crane pendant station or pendant control is a crane control device that is wired to the overhead crane or a hoist. It is a series of simple switches that can control heavy electrical loads in various ways. These loads are typically hoists or cranes, but they can also be anything from conveyor belt systems to specialized assembly line equipment. The crane pendant is the connection between the operator and the crane. They provide control devices that allow the crane to complete the job. Depending on the pendant you use and the configuration of your crane and lifting equipment, Anand data pendants will look very different. Regardless of appearance, the button symbols are standardized.
The crane pendant button station contains a low power pilot duty switch connected to a programmable logic controller (PLC), relay or another automation circuit to control heavy loads. To use them, the user operates the switches on the manual pendant in a specific order. This moves the machine in and out of the desired point. In most cases, the more buttons there are in a pendant push button station, the more directions the machine can move.
Most often, pendant stations are used to control large overhead cranes, EOT cranes and hoists. They are also able to be used as the remote control for industrial machines. EOT crane pendant control stations are specifically designed for lifting and handling heavy as well as lightweight material or equipment. Pendant switch enables direct line of sight control of motors.

Characters: Derek Hale, Laura Hale, Lydia Martin, Stiles Stilinski, Deaton
Words: 1598
LAURA HALE APPRECIATION WEEK - DAY FOUR THEME: resurrection
When Lydia shows up at his door to tell him his name unlocked the last of the list, he doesn't react. He knows Braeden is watching him, gauging how he responds. He knows Lydia will slowly come down from her premonition and switch to fix-it mode. She came alone, not wanting him to feel subjected to the pack's stares, but he knows that Stiles knows, and the kid has never been great at keeping pertinent information quiet.
He insists that he's fine each time he's asked, Braeden deciding to let him stew in whatever he's feeling while Scott and Stiles try to get more out of him. The latter goes so far as to goad Derek, trying to taunt him into talking but that isn't something they've ever done and he doesn't plan on starting now. It's easy to push back when they ask, because he's being honest. He isn't looking forward to dying, but he's resigned to it, knowing he's made his mother proud, made his family proud. He's worked to right the wrongs Peter has done, making Hale a respectable name again. Maybe he'll get to be with them soon.
"She didn't show you the whole list, did she?" Stiles asks a few days later. The whole pack has been working overtime to protect their own and figure out who is behind the deadpool in the first place. Kira returned after staying in hospital with her mom, and Scott has taken some time away from everyone to be alone with her, leaving Stiles with nobody else to pester.
"Why does it matter, Stiles? I'm marked for death, I know that already." He's exasperated but tolerant, realizing he might actually end up missing the banter they have. His gaze doesn't leave the gun he's reassembling, a task Braeden gave him for when he needs something to fill the spare time.
"Because there's a name on it that might draw your attention, sour wolf." Stiles is serious, and while this has become the norm after his possession, it's still out of place.
"So? Who was it?" He can hear the uptick in Stiles' pulse, scents anxiety in the air, but maintains his focus. If he engages, Stiles may take it as invitation for another attempt at a heart-to-heart.
There's no response for a moment, just the sound of paper unfolding, before a crumpled sheet slides into Derek's line of sight. He looks up at Stiles, who crosses his arms and simply nods toward the paper to emphasize Derek should look at it. Obliging, he scans the sheet, landing on a name two-thirds down the list.
"That's not possible," he says, eyes stuck on the letters. He doesn't pay attention to the numbers, just that string of impossibility.
"Are you sure?" Stiles asks, voice tense but gentle.
"You saw her body, you know it's not possible."
"Also shouldn't be possible for Peter to be alive, what with his quasi-possession of Lydia a few months ago, yet here we are."
Silence blossoms between them, and Derek thanks the universe for Stiles letting him sit with the information.
"Could it be outdated? Maybe the list isn't live, maybe it was made years ago," Derek suggests. He looks up to Stiles, eyes wide in hopeful shock. The only response he gets is a shrug as Stiles considers and starts to pace, running a hand through his hair in contemplation.
"I mean, it could be. We still don't know anything about it besides where the money came from. Lydia says she can feel a tangible thread to Laura, but she never met her and couldn't say for sure what it means."
Derek nods, standing to look out the window in thought.
"Have you talked to Deaton? Maybe he knows something, being human like you."
"We were kind of waiting to see what you wanted us to do," Stiles says. "She was your sister, after all, and there's no way we're bringing it to Peter without you. Y'know, her literal murderer?" He's pushing at Derek's buttons again, but this time he doesn't mind quite as much. He just nods again before turning back to Stiles.
"We can take the Camaro," Derek says, walking toward the door after grabbing a jacket and his keys."Though we should stop to pick up Lydia."
"Why Lydia?" Stiles asks as he follows after Derek.
"She can explain to Deaton what feelings she's having about Laura. He may be able to interpret them better than you or I could."
"Makes sense." Stiles is quiet after that, not saying anything for so long that Derek thinks it may be the longest he's gone without talking.
While he may have preferred this conversation to happen between the veterinarian and himself privately, he knew Lydia and Stiles would be useful at asking questions he may not consider and keep Derek from going too far off the deep end. The last time he'd been in a room with him alone was the night he kidnapped Deaton, thinking him to be the Alpha at the time. Things may have changed but he still kept his distance.
The boys drive to the Martin house, texting Lydia to join them, and continue the last few minutes to the Vet Clinic. Lydia was unsurprised when she sat down in the car, but seems uneasy around Derek, as though his impending death prediction is making her uncomfortable. He doesn't let himself dwell on it, instead focusing on clearing up his confusion.
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" Deaton asks when the trio arrives, motioning to the chairs in the back to sit in. Lydia takes a seat while Stiles continues the pacing he had started at the loft, and Derek simply hands Deaton the list of names.
"See anyone on there that shouldn't be? Any impossible names jumping out?" His voice is raised despite his efforts, and he clenches his fists to ground himself.
"I do," Deaton starts, his usual tone of knowing more than the rest of the room. "What do you think?" He directs the question at Lydia.
"I think... it's not an accident that her name is there," Lydia tries. "These lists, they don't feel arbitrary, as if everyone supernatural in Beacon Hills was added. Cora isn't on there, and as far as we know she's alive." She doesn't seem to want to meet Derek's eye, but he can understand it.
"So you think she's alive." It's a statement, not a question, but Derek' bluntness cuts through the room.
"I didn't say that," Lydia says quietly. "She doesn't feel dead, but she also doesn't feel alive either. It's not the same as when you were taken by Kate, but it's similar." She stands and puts her hand on top of Derek's, a similar motion to a few weeks ago when he'd been lying on the same table they're gathered around now, only a teenaged version of himself.
"So where does that leave us?" Stiles asks. He notes the way Derek has gone tense, and decides to push once more. "Derek, what's wrong? Isn't it a good thing if your sister is still with us?"
He's leaning over the table, arms holding his weight up at the edge, and he shakes his head, smiling to himself a little.
"I was so ready to die," he breathes out. "I'm just so... tired, and when Lydia told me my name was a key for the deadpool? I was relieved. I could stop fighting, stop pretending I know what the hell I'm doing, and be with her again."
Lydia reaches her arm up to rub circles against his back, feeling his sigh beneath her hand.
"The others, I miss them everyday. But for years it was just me and Laura against the world. I don't know what I'm supposed to do if she's alive somehow."
"You keep fighting," a voice chimes in, and it's familiar, too familiar. Derek spins around to see his older sister standing there, a sad smile on her face as she plays with the pendant hanging from her neck.
"Laura? Wha- how?" Derek is frozen in place, mouth hanging open as he stumbles over his words trying to speak properly.
"I'm sorry, Derek, I'm so sorry." She rushes forward to pull him into a hug before taking a step back, holding him at arm's length. "You've grown in just these past few months, Der. Look at you." She has tears in her eyes and laughs a little.
Derek still hasn't spoken, but Laura doesn't seem to mind.
"I haven't been back too long, I promise. I just needed to get my bearing before I came back into your life, especially considering how mine ended."
"How did you come back?" Stiles cuts in, curiosity getting the better of him. Laura turns to look at him but someone else answers first.
"Peter," Lydia says. "It happened when I brought back Peter, didn't it?" Her voice is small, shaking slightly as she recalls those traumatic months, only part of which she actually remembers.
"You're the smart one, aren't you?" Laura answers. "I still don't really know how, and Deaton hasn't been able to fully explain it either. But yes, when you resurrected him, it ended up like a package deal. Whether it was some karmic twist of fate or just Hale blood keeping us bound together, I'm back. And apparently being hunted despite only the people in this room knowing I'm alive." She scoffs at this last bit, turning her attention back to Derek.
"I'm back, baby brother. What do you say we figure this out together?"

After Tonight
Pairing: Ossie Mejía x Reader
Summary: "At any moment you would wake up, find yourself alone in the dark, tallying another night without him beside you."
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/notes: HE’S MY BABY, OKAY There is something very terrifying about writing for a character that doesn’t have a lot of content; this will probably get like five notes but I DON’T CARE it’s completely and utterly self-indulgent; this isn't related to the snippet I posted the other day, I actually had this sitting in my drafts for a bit; language; FLUFF because Ossie deserves softness; some sensuality; implied sexual activity; based off of this dialogue prompt; if you’re on the taglist it’s because you indulged me, if you don’t want to be, let me know. Excuse me, I’m gonna go hide now.
Word count: 1153
You folded your keys back in your hand and turned the knob, pushing the door open. Letting out a deep sigh, you stepped into the darkness of the entryway and dropped your bag on the floor. Your keys clattered into the bowl that sat on the table near the door.
“You have got to stop breaking into my house,” you said into the darkness.
“I wouldn’t have to, if you’d just give me a key.” Ossie’s voice floated out to you from the living room. You could hear the smile in it. You pictured him sitting on the couch, his ankle resting on his knee, arm stretched out over the back, casual as ever. You stepped into the doorway of the living room and leaned against the wall. He was exactly as you pictured him and you could just make out half of his face in the dim light from a streetlamp.
“I believe I also told you to get a better lock,” he said.
“You don’t call, you don’t write,” you said, crossing your arms over your chest and playing with the pendant at the end of your necklace. You fought the urge to cross the room and settle yourself on his lap, curl your fingers in his hair. He glanced down at his hand, tapping his knee with his fingers.
“It wasn’t safe,” Ossie replied, his voice soft.
“Well then it probably isn’t safe for you to be here.” You pushed away from the wall and headed for the bedroom, not bothering to turn on any lights. You needed to stop looking at him. It had started to rain and you opened the window in your bedroom, inhaling the warm, fresh scent. You slipped off your pants and dug through your dresser, looking for pajamas. Ossie’s hand brushed your waist and you stilled, feeling his chest press gently into your back. A flutter started in your stomach, and you couldn’t stop your heart from racing. It had been too long since he’d touched you. Ossie curled his fingers under the collar of your shirt and tugged it aside so he could place a warm kiss on your shoulder while his other hand tickled its way up the skin of your outer thigh. You released a shaky breath, letting your body relax against his.
“Ossie,” you whispered, sweeping your fingers into his hair as he pressed hot open-mouthed kisses along your neck. “That’s not fair.” Ossie chuckled and you gasped at the feeling of the heat of his breath on your wet skin. You turned, pushing him back toward the bed. He fell back onto it, having been caught off-guard.
“I’m supposed to be mad at you,” you said, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Does your pussy know that?” Ossie said, smirking.
“You can go fuck yourself,” you said, starting to walk away. Ossie sprang up from the bed and you ran, laughing as he chased you down the hallway. Before you could reach the living room he caught you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close. You shrieked and giggled in his embrace and let him turn you, pin you against the wall. His lips joined yours in a breathless kiss, his hand curling around your cheek. You slid your hand up his arm, bringing it to rest over his slender fingers as Ossie left kisses on the tip of your nose and your forehead. You turned your head, your lips pressing into the palm of his hand.
“I love you,” Ossie whispered. You blinked up at him in surprise, your hand starting to slip from his. Ossie caught it and you felt him press something small and cool into your palm. You looked down, still wrapping your head around his words, and saw a gold band resting in your hand.
“This is...you love me and this is…” Ossie chuckled and took the ring from you, sliding it on the ring finger of your left hand.
“You know what this means, right?” you asked. “A ring on this finger? That’s where the whole ‘til death do us part’ bit comes in, you’re prepared for that?” Your heart was fluttering in your chest, the word ‘marriage’ too much for you to manage. At any moment you would wake up, find yourself alone in the dark, tallying another night without him beside you. “This means you can’t just disappear when shit hits the fan, either.” Ossie had been watching you work through everything, a broad smile brightening his face.
“I know what marrying you means,” he said, and your breath caught at the word, warm tears building behind your eyelids. “So am I gonna hear a yes, or an I love you, too? Anything?” Your chest caved in a chuckle and you grabbed him by the shirt, pulling him close, your free hand guiding his around your waist before curling in the soft dark hair at the nape of his neck.
“I love you, too,” you whispered, smiling against his lips. You kissed him, your fingers working at the buttons of his shirt, needing him close.
“So is that a yes?” Ossie asked as you let him tug your shirt up over your head. He tossed the fabric aside and turned his attention to your neck.
“God, yes, Ossie!” you said, tilting your head back to laugh.
Your fingers curled around the bedsheets and you opened your eyes to the dark. Rain pattered against the window and a streak of lightning illuminated the room, revealing the empty space next to you. It took you a moment to wipe away the cobwebs in your brain.
“I can’t stay the night,” Ossie whispered. Your head rested on his chest and his fingers played with your hair, his touch like a lullaby.
“Ossie,” you grumbled sleepily.
“I’m sorry, baby, there’s a job tonight.” You felt Ossie press a kiss to the top of your head and you hummed against his skin, wanting to argue, to find a way to convince him to stay, but fuck you were so tired, and the rain was so nice, and his touch was so soft.
“Things will be different after tonight, I promise,” he whispered.
“They better be, mister.” The words barely made it past your lips, your eyelids shut, too heavy to open. You felt a chuckle pass through him.
You buried your face in the pillow that was still creased from where his head had lain, breathing in his scent. You hugged it close, rolling back over, and laughed to yourself, remembering the moment in the hallway. It was still impossible to believe and you found yourself turning on your bedside lamp so you could see the ring, proving to yourself it had really happened. You switched off the lamp and settled back into the bed, thinking of all the mornings you would finally get to have, imagining the way the sunlight would fall across his skin.

Mother’s Day for Conquest
I know I’m super late with this, but eh. I wanted to write something for Mother’s Day that was centered around Connie, so ye XP
There’s some cuteness with Mortem, where he gives her a special gift. He tells her that he bought it all by himself, but that’s just a coverup; What Connie doesn’t know was that while she wasn’t paying attention, some of her teammates worked together to make the gift for her
You’ll also see some of the riders kinda bonding a little, and then as a bonus, Retribution’s inner Nootmare begins to show a little
"Mom?"
Conquest shifted her attention to her son, smiling tiredly, "Yes, Sweetheart?" Mortem stepped closer to her, holding out a box, "I got you something." The rider tilted her head, carefully accepting the box from him, "Oh, thank you, Morty. What's this for?" Her son raised a brow bone at her and gave her a clear look of confusion, "...Did you forget what day it is, Mom? It's Mother's Day." Her cheekbones flushed a soft shade of orange in vague embarrassment and her tired smile became sheepish, "Ah, yeah. I guess I did forget what day it is, whoopsy daisy." Mortem sat beside her on their sofa, lightly laying his head on her shoulder and fidgeting, "Uh huh. Hurry up and open your gift, though! It's really special!"
Able to sense his growing excitement, Connie smiled to herself again and began to carefully unwrap the gift. Once the wrapping paper was removed and placed on the floor by her feet, she popped off the lid of the decorative box and paused, her breath hitching and her sockets momentarily widening; In the box before her was a beautiful necklace, its pendant comprised of blue gemstones that were shaped to resemble an echo flower. Mortem fidgeted again, pointing at the middle of the flower, "There's a button here for you to push, too." Conquest nodded, gingerly pressing the button he'd gestured to, and a recording switched on, playing a single line in the voice of her son: "I love you, mom!"
For a moment, Conquest was at a loss for words; She really hadn't been expecting such a nice gift from anyone today. By the looks of it, this wasn't a cheap one, either. Wrapping an arm around the child, she offered him a warm smile, "Oh my goodness, it's beautiful! Thank you, Morty, I love it a lot." Mortem beamed at her, puffing up with pride, "You're welcome!" She couldn't help but laugh softly at how proud he looked, shaking her head; He was such a good kid... She really couldn't have asked for a better child.
Lightly nudging him with her shoulder, she hummed, "How in the world were you able to get this for me? It looks like it'd cost quite a bit of money." Her son mimicked her, humming and nudging her back with his own shoulder, "I saved up the money Glo gave me for doing my chores, and then I had Uncle Ret take me shopping. He even let me pick it out all by myself." Conquest's expression softened and she sighed, still smiling, "Well color me shocked. Usually you get antsy and spend your allowance pretty fast, Mister. I'm surprised you saved it up for this long." He grinned at her, "I know. I had Glo help me, though! She helped me save my money."
Connie's smile widened slightly, "Awe, well that was really nice of her! Did you tell her thank you for all the help?" Mortem nodded his head, "Uh huh!" The rider leaned closer to press a kiss to her child's forehead, lifting a hand to gently caress his skull as she pulled away, "Good, I'm really glad. You always do such a good job remembering to use your manners, you know that?" Mortem smiled again, almost looking bashful all of a sudden, "Thank you, Mom." Conquest continued to gently caress Mortem's skull for a few more seconds before she tapped his forehead, causing him to draw back a bit and giggle.
The gesture, although small and likely somewhat strange to others that'd seen it, was a habit she'd adopted, and whenever she'd done it, it was always meant to convey affection. It was light-hearted and oftentimes made Mortem laugh, but thankfully, he understood what it meant.
Setting the box down on her lap, she lifted a hand to delicately touch her scarf. Her thumb trailed over a name on the underside that'd been stitched into the fabric and she smiled again to herself. Very gingerly removing her scarf and setting it on her lap beside the box, she adjusted the collar of her dress and then proceeded to scoop up her new necklace. Mortem watched as she undid the clasp and slid both ends of the chain around her neck, and sensing his gaze on her, she offered him a sideways glance, accompanied by a tiny smile, "Do you think you could help me, Sweetheart?... I can't see where the clasp is, so that makes things a little tricky."
The child eagerly nodded, more than happy to help his mother. Turning slightly, she paid no mind as he scooted closer, his hands darting up to carefully take the ends of the chain from her, "Now Morty, just make sure not to make it too tight, ok?" He nodded again, "Ok, Mom... Should I just put the clasp thing in the first hole then?" Connie hummed softly in confirmation, "Mmhm. If that's what you wanna do, then go for it." After a moment of fumbling with the clasp, he managed to get it clipped into the first link, idly toying with the chain, "Is that ok?" Conquest made a sound in consideration, testing the tightness of the necklace before glancing back at him and offering him another warm smile, "Yep, it's perfect. Thank you for your help!"
Again, Mortem beamed, his chest puffed out with pride. Conquest sighed, feeling completely content as she pressed the button on her echo flower pendant again, listening to the recorded message from her son. Suddenly perking up, Mortem made a sound, as if remembering something, and before Connie could question him, he'd already dashed out of the room.
Entering his bedroom and carefully closing the door behind himself, he glanced around, and then crossed the room and began to rifle through one of his desk drawers. He withdrew two things; The first being a simple white envelope that contained a letter he'd written for his mom, and the second being an orange envelope that had some surprisingly elegant writing on one side. He wasn't sure what it contained, but despite his curiosity, he resisted the urge to peek. The lady that had delivered it that morning had been very polite when she asked him to be patient and wait for his mom to open it herself, so he told himself he'd listen to her and respect her wishes.
As he gathered up the envelopes, a voice softly called to him from within the shadows of the room, "Psst, Morty! Over here!" Attention immediately snapping to the patch of shadows the voice had come from, Mortem nearly dropped the envelopes, a grin stretching across his face. He trotted over to the shadows, excitedly screeching, and the upper half of Retribution's body emerged from the darkness. Pressing a finger over his teeth, he softly shushed his nephew, and the younger of the two mimicked him, repeating the motion and freezing in place. Once the easily excitable skeleton child settled down, the former prince murmured lowly, "So what'd she think of the necklace? Did she like it?"
Mortem immediately nodded, also lowering his voice, "Uh huh! It made her really happy, and she already put it on!" Ret offered Mortem a slight smile, "That's great, Buddy! I'm glad to hear it. Did she say anything about how pricey it was, or ask how you were able to get it for her?" The child nodded again, "Uh huh." "And what did you tell her?" Mortem hugged the envelopes close to his chest, "I said that I saved up my money from chores, and that you took me shopping." Retribution arched a brow bone, "You didn't say anything about how I paid for most of it?" The child shook his head, "Nope." The former prince let out a soft breath in relief, reaching out to pat his nephew's shoulder, "Good, good. Just like we discussed. Well done, Mortem."
In response to the praise, Morty smiled brightly, his cheekbones flushing a faint shade of orange. Without warning, he put the envelopes down and approached Retribution, wrapping his arms around him and hugging him tightly. Ret's body twitched in surprise at the unexpected contact, and after he'd calmed himself, he returned the hug. Although his voice was muffled by the fabric of Ret's cloak, the former prince heard his nephew murmur, "I love you, Uncle Ret... You're the best." Retribution's expression softened and his smile became genuine as he lowly murmured back, "I love you too, Morty. You should probably get going now though, before your mom gets curious about what's taking you so long."
The child made a sound in agreement, "Ok, I will... Are you sure you can't stay longer?" Ret sighed, "I'm sure. I wish I could, but I have work to do today. If you'd like to visit me sometime though, I'm sure your mom would be more than happy to bring you." His nephew reluctantly pulled away from the hug and smiled at him again, "Ok, I'll ask her then if I can come see you soon." Ret lightly poked at Mortem's side, grinning to himself as the child squirmed and attempted to refrain from giggling, "Cool, that sounds like a plan, then. Seeya later, Kid." Mortem offered him a tiny wave, "Seeya, Uncle Ret." Retribution offered him a softer smile in return, before he sank back into the shadows and vanished completely from sight. Quickly gathering up the pair of envelopes, Mortem slipped out of his room, making his way back to the living room where his mom was waiting.
Warping out of the shadows in the hallway of his home, the former prince let out a soft breath as a realization dawned on him; For giving him her assistance, there was someone that he owed his thanks. Admitting that perhaps she'd managed to do something right for a change was doable, albeit a bit awkward for him. It was that awkwardness that he really wasn't looking forward to, but oh well.
Some things just have to be done.
Retribution began his journey toward the ex-pirate's room, trying to figure out how he would even word his appreciation in the first place. He and Abrael weren't exactly on the best of terms, and ever since she'd first arrived and been introduced as a member of the group, there'd been something about her that didn't sit well with him. He wasn't sure yet what it was, but the longer he went without knowing, the more it grew to bother him.
Arriving at his destination, he gave her closed bedroom door a few knocks, and then he stepped back, folding his arms behind his back. He could do this. He just needed to focus, and even though it'd probably make things a bit bothersome later on down the road, he would have to put his pride on the back burner. He drew in a deep breath, making an attempt to mentally and emotionally prepare for what he was about to do. The door opened, and Abrael immediately donned a look of confusion, clearly dumbfounded, "Uh... Ahoy, Ret. What are you doing here?" Retribution glanced around, looking anywhere other than directly at her, "Can I come in? Please? I would like to speak to you in private."
Abrael nodded, stepping aside to gesture into the room, "Be my guest." The former prince slipped into the room, still not looking at her, and once she was sure he was far enough away from the door that it wouldn't get caught on his cloak, she shut it behind him. Turning to face him and doing her best to ignore the impending sense of doom that'd begun to creep up on her. When he finally looked at her, it was with such intensity that she nearly flinched backward, and he furrowed his brow bones, "...Apologies for the awkward silence. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how exactly I'd like to word everything I have to say to you." The former pirate made a face, beginning to shrink under his stare, "...It's fine. Am I in trouble for something, or?..." She paused, lifting both hands in a gesture of surrender, "If this is about that missing bottle of wine, I can replace it. Just give me a little time."
All awkwardness Retribution felt melted away and he stared at her, his sockets narrowing in a mix of confusion and suspicion, "Wait, wait, wait. Missing bottle of wine? You broke into my stash? How did you even find it?" Abrael offered him an only mildly guilty grin, her shoulders tensing up, "...I'm very dedicated to things I'm really truly interested in, is all I can say. Because truth be told, I wasn't even purposely searching for it at the time." Ret groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose, "It doesn't matter. I'm not sure that I really want an honest answer to any of that, anyway." Abrael seemed to perk up, "So that bottle was a freebie then?" The former prince rolled his eye lights, "Yeah, sure, whatever. That's not why I’m here, though. I had other things to talk to you about."
The ex-pirate cocked her head to the side, staring at him in confusion, "...That wasn't it? What else was there?" Doing his best to swallow his pride, he glanced away from her, "Those gemstones you gave me. Topaz and Zircon, I believe. I... Wanted to thank you for allowing me to take them. The different shades of blue complimented each other very well, and the necklace turned out beautifully." Abrael blinked, silent for a moment as she processed his words; He was actually... He was thanking her for something, and there wasn't a single insult anywhere in sight. Huh.
She smiled awkwardly, giving a half shrug and absentmindedly picking at part of her sleeve, "Oh, that. Don't mention it. 'M a pirate, remember?" She allowed her accent to slip through and thicken, still grinning awkwardly, "It's in me nature t' keep loot. Thar's more where that came from too, if ye ever needs it." Hearing her speaking in the way that he found really suited her best, Retribution snorted in amusement, "Oh come on, Abrael. You were never the modest type before, so why the sudden change in attitude?" The former pirate shrugged again, her accent vanishing as quickly as it'd first arrived, "I dunno. I wasn't expecting this meeting to go down this particular path, so I think my usual eccentric persona is still in sleep mode right now."
Retribution shook his head and sighed, attempting to hide the smallest of smiles, "You know... You confuse me sometimes. As someone who typically comes across as being greedy, I didn't think you'd be so willing to trade in some of those gems. I figured I'd have to steal them from you or something." Abrael hummed, "Yeah, well... I had a good reason to cooperate this time, I guess." The former prince arched a brow bone curiously, "You mean a reason other than thinking I'd go and beat you senseless for saying no?" Her cheekbones flushed a soft shade of lemon yellow and she lowered her head, "I, uh... There was another reason too, if I'm being honest."
Ret tilted his head and hummed, "And might I ask what that reason is? I can feel your nervousness and uncertainty, so I'm unsure if I should be concerned or not right now." Abrael hesitated, and Ret's stare seemed to gain intensity again as he felt a small pulse of embarrassment come from her, "...Abrael, I have a feeling your answer isn't going to sit well with me. Now that I know you have another reason for cooperating that has nothing to do with being afraid of me, I would like you to tell me what it is. I won't promise not to get upset, but I'll try my best to stay rational and calm." The former pirate snuck a glance at him and hesitated for another moment, "...Your sister. Connie."
Retribution's stare hardened as he heard his sister's name leave Abrael's mouth, "What about Connie?" The ex-pirate nervously shifted her weight from one foot to the other, "She's a good teacher, with all this magic stuff. I know I'm not always the easiest person to work with, but despite that, she's been good to me. Not once has she shown me anything that could be interpreted as rude or uncaring." Beginning to understand, Retribution made a soft sound in acknowledgment, "I've noticed. Because of that, your other reason for cooperating involves her somehow. If you want your head to stay attached to your body, I'd suggest you hurry up and spit it out already."
Abrael drew in a breath and ran her hands over her head, "I wanted to help do something nice for her. She's always good to me, she's patient with me when I start my shenanigans, and I... She's... She's quite pretty, too." The former prince continued to stare at her as he spoke, "Your other reason for cooperating was because you think my sister is pretty, and because you wanted to do something nice for her in return for how nice she is to you?" Abrael made a sound in confirmation, her yellow blush becoming just a smidge brighter, and Retribution took a deep breath, "...You've taken an interest in her. I see. I don't care what you do, as far as your relationship with her goes, but let me be perfectly clear," he paused, the atmosphere suddenly becoming tense and nearly suffocating.
The former pirate watched him with wide eyes as his cyan eye lights flickered, very briefly becoming a brilliant shade of violet, "If any harm should come to her, whether it be mental, emotional, or physical, I'll pay you a visit in the dreamscape while you sleep and make you relive your final moments as a vile, audacious, no-good pirate again and again, and again. You'll feel the pain of a broken neck and cracked skull as many times as it takes to teach you how to be a halfway decent person, and you can even quote me on that. I genuinely don't care." Abrael shrunk under his stare again and began to tremble, but before she could speak, another voice interrupted the rather tense moment, "Scarin' the new girl again, are ya?"
Ret's attention immediately refocused on his partner, who was currently loitering in the doorway, and he narrowed his eyes, "What are you doing here, Famine? I thought you were too busy to socialize today." Famine shrugged, leaning against the door frame, "Nah. 'M busy, yeah, but I know how ta make time for my teammates. I'm only here because my gut told me ya were runnin' around gettin' into trouble again." The taller of the two glanced at Abrael, registering the terrified look she wore, "And by the looks a' things, my gut was right." Retribution let out a deep sigh, the atmosphere gradually beginning to return to normal again, "Hey, I didn't physically do anything to her. She's fine, Fam. I'm still in control of myself, ok? I don't want you doubting that."
Famine arched a single brow bone, crossing his arms over his chest, "Ya sure about that, Firefly? You've been pretty tense as a' lately... How about ya go and start runnin' a bath or somethin'? I can join ya in just a minute." Ret's eye lights remained their normal shade of cyan, and at his partner's words, his cheekbones flushed a shade of cyan that matched them. When Retribution didn't move from his spot, Famine hummed again, "Hey, Small, Dark, and Lovecraftian, ya still with me?" Ret made a sound in confirmation and Famine donned a lazy smirk, "Good ta know. Now, about that bath. I want ya soakin' in the tub, five minutes from now. I got a few words for the lady, then I'll come and join ya." Deciding not to reply, Ret nodded, sheepishly glancing away from Famine and using a shortcut, teleporting out of the room.
Once he was gone, Famine's demeanor became more relaxed and he sighed, slipping into Abrael's room. Before she had the chance to panic and run, he placed a hand on her head, stuffing the other in one of his pockets. Soothing pulses of his magic began to ripple through her and she drew in a shaky breath, slowly shifting her gaze upward and looking at him. Seeing that her attention was on him now, he spoke, "...Sorry 'bout him. He's a bit touchy when it comes ta family, and he can be a little over protective of 'em. He won't do anythin' to ya though, promise." The former pirate nodded slowly, "...You're sure?" He lightly squeezed her head, "I'm positive. Don't worry about him, ok? You'll be fine."

Four eyes/ ObsureD | second shot
A/n: wtf, the second part for four eyes. Still can't believe this. You may follow #damirae and #foureyes
Not long after they were having chat at the kitchen, the alarm suddenly blaring intensely. Damian and Raven jolted and quickly sprint towards the control room.
"What do we got?" Raven looked at the screen as Damian typing on the keyboard looki g at the coordinate where the alarm set off. It seems there's a group of mage call the Riot terrorise at north region of San Francisco city.
"The Riot. Again with their agenda." Damian sighed as he looked at their information. The Riot consist of three ameteur mage who decided to use their power to proven they are worthy. Instead doing good deed they decided to be scoundrel as they wanted to fight the mage based hero like Raven to measure their capacity.
The member of the group are Mimic, Psyche and Mirage. Mimic has the power to copy, Psyche has the power to take over the enemy body while Mirage has the power to project item out of thin air.
Damian still remember where his body controlled by Psyche to do reckless thing such as stealing Raven's cloak or switching both of their cloak. There were the time where both of them body swap which is a very very bad day.
"Ah, the three idiot again? What did they want this time?" Raven stared at the screen with the face of three mischievous rascal.
"A showdown." Damian quickly to his equipment room picking his best weapon and his costume. As soon as he's fully equipped, he went to the launching pad toward the Robin's airbike.
As He flip on the switch and pushed a couple of button, the engine start to hummed and and it start to warm up. Putting his helmet, and twisting the accelerator, the propeller start to spin blowing the debris near by away including it's cloth cover.
The bike has levitate and Damian balanced it by controlling it's handle.
"Arm and ready, Robin." Raven casually sit behind him, riding the air bike.
Damian almost jolted but he manage to calm down and look at her by the shoulder. "Hold on tight." He pressed the valve as the propeller spin more faster. "Lead the way, Raven."
Raven activate her power as her eyes went all white. She held her hand past his shoulder as the purple energy surrounding it. A door, a worm hole like door open, without wasting any time, Robin dive into the portal door with his bike.
--------------
" Why not we make this road more, alive?" Mirage waving his hand towards the road nearby and suddenly the road turn into gigantic snakes as it began to curled and gliding. People where shouting in fear, some run towards the other street.
Then came a girl with light blue hair, crackled haughtily as she saw people start to get away. " Freeze!" She lift both of her hand, light turquoise line start to come out from her finger and attached to a couple of people. They movement start goes to restriction then froze up. "Sorry, no sorry. Guess you guys are now riled up!"
As she moved her hands, the people who has been attached by her string start to picking up some pipes or wood lying around, start to do vandalizing.
One of the group, a boy just found the lighter. The unwilling victim had been forced to pick it and light up. Before the boy throw the lighter toward a store full of cooking utensils, the lighter has been suspended in mid air with purple aura surrounding it.
Before Psyche, the girl with blue hair, questioning what happen, then came the rain of batarang towards them which makes Mirage forming a shelter out of water from the water supply nearby.
The engine noise start to deafening them along with wild blown debrises that makes them closed their eyes. " What is this??!" Psyche shouted and has lost her concentration towards her puppet victim.
Without their knowing, all three of them has been bind by dark tentacle that come from the floor. Mirage shouted " Mimic! Do it!!"
Mimic smiled as he move his hands, another set of tentacle appeared pulling out the tentacle that bind them. " This is easy."
"Try it again." This time came in a batarang along with hard steel string circling the three amateur mage lower limbs. With a hard pull all three of them stumbled on the ground along with the purple tentacle embracing them, preventing their further movement.
"Shit!" Mimic curses as they have been captured.
"Guess we have gone through Lovecraft alpha plan well, Raven." Damian walked out of nowhere with hooded cloak as he bring his sword.
"I'm surprised it went well," Raven appeared behind the shadow of black bird. The Riot all shudder as they met the two demonic duo hero, Robin and Raven.
"Wrong timing for making a fuss at San Francisco city, Riot." Raven levitate display her eerieness.
"Shit." Mimic cursed under his breath. "Psyche! Use it! Use it now!" He shouted.
The way Mimic shouted makes Raven grew anxious about what about to happen. As Psyche successfully let one of her hand out Raven quickly step in front of Robin.
"Raven! Wha-" before Robin continue his sentences, a bluish flame blasted from Psyche hit the Witch girl.
The fire didn't burn her clothes and her skin but Raven scream as she crouched holding her face.
"Raven!!" Damian try to grab her but Raven went out of control as she unleashed violent shadows as she scream.
Her gem on her forehead glows dangerously red and the shadow whipping through the air. The Riot tried to escape by using the dirty tactic failed as the shadow start to suffocated them.
"H-hel...." Psyche drown in those shadow as she held her hands towards Damian.
Damian without thinking much he hold Raven from behind. "Raven! I'm here!"
Raven still screaming as the pain still burn.
"Raven!" Damian scream as wrapped his arms around her, embracing her. "I'm here. Nothing will hurt you. Not when I'm watching." He cooed her as his whispered.
Raven as if awaken from nightmare slowly landed her head on his shoulder. "R-robin?" Her voice similar to a girl who has been scared by her nightmare.
"That's right. I'm here." As he rub her back up and down. The. He could feel wet sensation on his shoulder. Is she crying?
The shadow slowly start to dissipated freeing those smothering ameteur mage who are now gasping for air.
Before they managed to escape, Damian quickly throwing three set of Bolas towards them, tying them down.
The Riot try to escape with magic but to no avail the Bolas were unaffected as it has been set by Raven to be anti magic properties.
"Raven, look at me." Damian hold on her chin as he cast his eyes on her face. Her eyes are gone!
"Damian." She whispered. "I can't see." She rest her face on his chest, holding onto his shoulder. Damian cursed then look at the Riot.
"Follow my lead. We're going back to the tower." As the young Robin lead the witch towards his Air bike. As he seated her, he glared at the culprit then at Raven and back to them. "Damn it." He cursed.
He walked towards them. "What did you do to her?" He pull out expandable blade from his glove. "Spill it out or your guts will."
The Riot were silent then mumbling each other. After a few exchange look and nod, they look at him. " We were..." The girl swallowed her saliva then proceed. "Stealing from one of the old shop down town." She shown the pendant. The pendant that has the lotus flower shape with each of the petal has eyes.
" We felt some huge energy from this pendant and it seems we have contact to it." Mirage explain. "They say the will help us by offering a pair of two eyes of thy enemy."
"We thought it might be fun prnak but turns out something else." Psyche bit her lips as she recalled what happen.
Damian got nearer as he inspect the pendant. With the blade he pulled the necklace, torn off from the light blue hair girl. "I need to go to the tower to find the book about this. I think I have seen it before." As Damian inspect the cursed artifact. Quickly he pulled the back zipper from his utility belt and put the artifact in it then stored it back on the other side of his belt.
"All three of you better come with me. We need to track down the source and gives the eyes back to Raven." As he pointed towards Raven who is seated, sighed, holding out her hand in front of her face trying to test her vision which to no avail.
"Please have mercy on us." Mimic beg some sympathy for them.
"Not until we solve this mystery or else." Damian walked towards raven who sit on the bike, silent. "Raven."
Raven jolted then turn her head towards them. "Yes?"
"I don't know if this is possible but can you teleport us towards the titans launching pad?"
"Us?"
"I found something that stole your eye sight."
"A curse?"
"Curse artifact I pressume."
"...okay then. I'll try." Raven take a deep breath, gathering her thoughts and concentration. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
In a blink of an eye, they were teleport back to the teen titans launching pad along with captured The riot.
Mirage was astounded." What level is this sorcery?"
Raven turned her head to the pressumed direction."Way better than you."
Damian went to the control centre picking up three mysterious devices from the drawer. In a quick move, he threw three of them towards Riot's arm and they quickly wrap around it. "As a safety measure, incase you guys were up to something." Damian pulled the Bolas releasing them.
The mages up on their feet. Mimic as mischievous try to cast a spell but it died before it be able to execute. "The band are anti magic too and..." Damian unfinished his sentences.
Mimic jolted by surge of electricity which made he landed on his knees. " It absorb your magic energy and turn into electricity." Damian continue after the demonstration. Mirage and Psyche look at him with horror.
"You can't do this to us, you bastard!" Psyche screamed at him.
"It's a perfect punishment for three of you." Damian shrugged. "Hope you learn your consequences for doing such damage by banishing my friend's eyes!" He pointed at Raven. "Since you're here with us, it is the time for your atonement by helping us to break thecurse."
"What if we decided not to cooperate?" Mirage raised his eyebrow.
" I tell you, if I didn't stop her, Us and this world would probably end up in hell." Damian glared at him. "Be grateful with your spared life."
The riot shivered. " Okay, we'll do it."
"Good. All we need is a book And a real mage." Damian walked toward his airbike. Raven still there standing as she lost in here thought.
"Hey."
"Damian."
"You okay?"
"It didn't burned anymore but I still can't see." Raven sighed. As Raven tried to walk, she goes wobbled and quickly Damian grab her by the waist.
"Don't get hard on yourself. Come, let me be your eyes." His voice goes soft as he put her arm around his shoulder. "You three, follow me."
"Yes, sir!" All three of them quickly followed Robin and Raven.

Word Count: 1.6K
Warnings: Blood, Mentions of slavery, PTSD, Rape implications, FLUFF, Language
***This chapter is mainly fluff... much needed after the last few...
Parts: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11 (You are here)
You woke up wrapped in Din’s arms in the same way you were after the first night you spent together. The only difference was that this time you were on the small cot where you had patched Din up numerous times now and the child was curled up against your stomach.
You stirred slightly, hissing in pain as Din’s hand moved to rest on your bruised hip.
“Are you all right?” Din asks, his voice still thick with sleep.
“I’m okay,” you mumble, “It’s just some bruises.”
“I’m sorry,” Din whispers, brushing his lips against the back of your neck.
You curl up against him as the kid starts to wiggle, trying to push himself upright.
“I thought he would sleep longer. He normally does after doing things like that,” Din sighs, referring to how the child had miraculously healed his back shredded from the lashes.
“Maybe he is getting stronger,” you breath, running your fingertips along the child’s long green ear.
You jump when a sudden light rap on the outside of the ship startles you.
“That’s probably Karga and Cara. You stay there, I’ll let them in,” Din says.
He groans as he rolls over and rises to his feet, still sore from recent events. Grabbing his helmet, he slips it on as he presses the button to lower the ramp of the ship.
You sit up, aware of how much of a mess you must look as you nod to Karga and Cara in greeting.
“You both look like shit…” Cara says as she leans against the wall of the Crest.
Din just sighs in response, shaking his helmeted head.
“So what the hell was all that? I had Cara burst into my cantina on Navaro and demand my help because you and your women, who I didn’t even know about, got yourselves into some deep shit,” asks Karga.
Din looks down, resting his hand on the back of his neck covered in fabric as he contemplates his answer.
“Well… its a bit of a long story…”
“He saved me,” You answer, looking back to your two saviors, “About a cycle ago I escaped from that place. They placed a bounty on me and Mando hunted me down… but he chose not to return me. They found us though, even though we ran and tried to stay low. They took me back… and I guess he… he came to save me.”
“So you were… are… a….” Karga trails off.
“A slave? Yes. A sex slave? Yes. Assaulted on multiple occasions? Yes. Just about all of the terrible things you can think of have been done to me,” you finish for Karga.
You wrap your arms around your knees, bringing them up to your chest.
“You are one strong woman,” Cara says, “You got yourself a hell of a catch there Mando.”
You sweep the little on up into your arms, holding him close to you as his little hands grab at Din’s cloak that is still wrapped around you.
“Thank you,” Din nods to Cara and Karga, “Thank you for everything.”
“Where are you two heading to next?” asks Cara.
“Back to Navaro, I have some business to attend to,” Din replies.
“Well, then I guess we will see you there.” Cara turns to Karga and motions for him to follow her off of the Crest.
“Hey…” I blurt, Cara turns to look at me before she steps off of the ramp, “Thank you.”
She just nods and keeps walking. Din closes up the ship and turns back to you.
He sits down next to you on the edge of the cot, brushing a few stray strands of hair from your face. “I’m going to take off. You should get out of those scraps and put on something you feel more comfortable in.”
You lean into his touch, pressing a light kiss to the palm of his hand. Giving him a small smile, you respond, “Alright.”
He stands and heads up the ladder to take off. You are happy to be leaving Tayips, happy to never have to come back here, never have to go back to Limax’ palace, and never having to see Gravix ever again.
You stand from the cot as you feel Din lift the ship off the ground. You dig through the trunk Din had given you ages ago to keep your belongings and pull out a comfortable pair of black leggings and a black T-shirt, items of clothing that you had bought with the credits Din always gave you after he collected a bounty. At first, you didn’t want to accept the money from him but he insisted that you should be able to save up for something if you wanted or buy things that catch your eye in the markets you visit on various planets.
After you change, you place what are no more than scraps of fabric that you were wearing into the trunk, along with Din’s cloak. Then you go over to his trunk, pulling out a clean and slightly less tattered cloak for Din. You throw it over your shoulder and then head up the ladder to join Din.
“I brought you something,” You say as you stand next to him sitting in the pilot’s chair.
“Hm?” He asks through the modulator.
“A fresh cloak?”
He switches the ship over to autopilot and then stands turning to face you. You bring the cloak around him, your arms wrapping around his neck as you lift it up over his shoulders. His arm wraps around your waist bringing you closer as tuck the ends into the upper corners of his chest plate.
“Thank you,” he murmurs.
You smile at him as he tips his helmet down, the metal where his forehead would be meets yours. The beskar is cool against your skin as he holds you close.
You both savor this tender moment, a moment you both deserved after the hardships you had both been through.
***
After landing on Navaro Din left the Crest in order to attend to his business, leaving you and the child safely on the ship.
You assumed that he would be meeting with Karga to see what jobs he had so they could get back to normal, but after Din was gone for several hours you began to worry. It never took him this long to meet with Karga and collect a few supplies from the market.
It was nearly dark when he finally returned carrying several parcels tied with twine. You had been rocking the child, trying to get him to sleep as Din stepped up the ramp of the Razor Crest. You placed the baby down in his cradle, pressing the button to close the lid and then turned to Din.
“You were out an awfully long time. I was starting to get worried,” You say as Din sets down the packages.
“Sorry, Y/N. Things took a little longer than I had expected.”
“Why is that?”
“Well… I had to have this made…” He reaches into the pouch at his hip and pulls out what looks to be a necklace. He holds it in his gloved hand for a moment before he drops to his knees in front of you. Holding out his other hand, he invites you to kneel before him.
You lower yourself down to your knees, “Din, what is this?”
“Y/N,” he starts, the leather cord of the necklace dangling from this hand, “We have both been through so much. But now, now I think the Maker smiles favorably down upon us. I want you to be part of my life until the end. I want you to be part of my clan, I want you to be my wife.”
Din holds out the necklace to you, the metal of the pendant shining in his palm.
“That’s your mudhorn signet…” You gasp, “Is it… is it beskar? Din, I can’t take the precious metal of your people…”
“It’s some that I had saved in case I needed to repair my armor, and there is still plenty left for repairs. Besides, if you agree, it will be the precious metal of your people too,” Din replies.
Tears threaten to spill over onto your cheeks, “Din, it’s beautiful.”
“Before… before you decide, there is one thing you should know.”
Your eyes raise to meet his through the visor.
“The clan I was raised with has very specific customs when it comes to marrying outside of the clan,” he says.
“Alright…”
“After you put this signet on you must wear a veil to hide your face until we are alone after we are wed. We cannot see each other’s faces until then. I-I got one for you, it’s in one of those packages.”
You look at Din for a moment, the customs of his people are important to him, you know that.
“If that is what it takes to marry you, then yes, whatever I must do.”
Din seems to breathe a sigh of relief, the tension he was holding in his body melting away. He was scared you would way no.
He gently brings the necklace over your head and lowers it down around your neck.
The weight of the pendant against your chest is comforting.
Din then opens one of the packages and unfolds a simple white veil. After setting the headpiece of heavy leather on the crown of your head to hold the veil in place your hands catch his.
It is strange for him to not be able to see your eyes as the veil falls into place, obscuring his view of your face.
He lowers his forehead to meet yours, as both of you smile at each other, hidden from view.
“I love you,” he breaths.
“I love you too, Din,” you reply.
To Be Continued.....
A/N: Sorry it took so long for the update ya’ll, but I figured I would gift you with some fluff, especially after how intense the last were chapters were!

What is crane pendant push button control and how it works?
Crane pendant:
The crane pendant push button is a device used in the industrial sector to control the EOT crane. This device is attached to the crane with a long cable wire called crane pendant cable. The pendant push button control moves and control the overhead crane in a specific manner. The crane pendant is an important part of the overhead crane is also called a crane pendant station or crane control unit.
The crane pendant is fully worked on the wired systems and hence they don't require the charging system or battery types of equipment. The pendant has push buttons are interlocked horizontally. With the help of a crane pendant push button overhead crane can be conducted in long travel, cross travel, and hoist. Hoisting is used for loading and unloading heavy objects.
How pendant control switch for EOT crane works:
As we know that the crane pendant push button switch is connected with the overhead crane or hoist with the cable wire. This cable wire is suspended from the hoist and hung like a pendant. This pendant push button is operated by the operator to control the hoist like loading and unloading the heavy objects.
In the overhead crane, an operator sits to control and monitor the crane. While another operator stands on the ground floor to guide and give the signal to another operator through the crane pendant device. The ground operator has to walk along with the overhead crane when the crane passes the cross line due to the wired connectivity.
While operating the pendant switch the operator has to be very careful because he may be messed up with the obstacles which may be harmful to not only the operator but also the crane objects. The hoist pendant control has many push buttons like on, off, up, down, east, west, forward, backward.
These push buttons are interlocked in a horizontal way that means the two buttons cannot be worked together. If a forward button is pressed at that time reverse button cannot be pressed until the crane reaches to forward destination.
The characteristic of pendant switch for hoist or crane:
1. The crane pendant can be used in both AC and DC.
2. It has interlocked features for pair of buttons.
3. The device has a good grip so it can be easily handled from one hand.
4. The NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) 4x rating is given to the pendant push button.
5. The device is made in such a way that it prevents shock and corrosion.
6. The crane pendant has been configured with the 8 common circuits and 5-speed point used to move the crane in each direction.
7. The pendant push button circuits are pre-wired and made up of a simple wire connection.
The primacy of crane pendant push button station:
The crane pendant push button does not affect the external interruption or outsider attack due to the strong wired connection. This provides a fast and secure connection at the time of data transfer. The crane pendant push button is configured with many wired routes for transmission.
So if any issue or error is found while communicating or data transmission at that time it switches to another route and maintains the data transfer between the crane pendant and overhead crane. While in the case of radio remote control if any lag or bugs are found then the transmitter stops working instantly.
Conclusion:
Due to the wired connection of the crane pendant, it is more in demand for industrial use. Because it provides security and fast communication for the data transfer. The crane pendant push button has its primacy and pitfalls. With all these major points you can go for the crane pendant push button for the EOT crane.
The best quality crane pendant push button is manufactured by the Anand systems engineering Pvt. Ltd. Anand crane pendants are customizable according to the need. They are made in such a way that they can be used in harsh conditions also. The device provides the stability and reliability and can be used for a longer time also.

Please good sir 😔 spare some serotonin ? 🥺 may I please get a wee-bit of Nolan head-cannons with him and his (s/o) having soft moments 🥺 maybe a little bit of stimming 😔 thank you good sir and blessed be ye’ soul 🥺
Autistic Nolan Stormgate is really just. the best huh. canon, huh. Infodumping,,, chew stimming,,, semiverbalnesssss,,,,, a bit of echolalia,,, hand FLAPPING... we in it now y’all. I’m autistic and writing from mostly experience, but if anyone has any input or questions hit me up.
Content warning for past ableism and past internalized ableism towards the autistic narrator/main character, also some descriptions of uncomfortable textures, like chewing on fabric and pencils.
Nolan infodumps now.
It wasn’t a thing he did before, at least not while fully aware, just excited and able to let all that excitement out in words and explanations and being just! Excited! about something. But before all he knew was after he explained or just spoke for too long, he was being annoying, or condescending, or wasting time, or being distracting, or-
“Nolan?” His partner smiled at him, not looking up from their project, aware that accidentally catching Nolan’s gaze in theirs would be uncomfortable.
“Oh, yeah.” Nolan blinked, looking back down at the extra curricular textbook he had been summarizing excitedly. He had gotten lost in thought, but he does that sometimes, and his partner doesn’t mind. “Yeah! Yeah, Yeah. So, this cool rune array...”
-
Nolan chews on a necklace made for that exact purpose now.
It wasn’t a thing he did before, instead he would absentmindedly chew on the edges of his long sleeves or on the cord of whatever amulet he was wearing at the time. He wouldn’t even realize when he was in the act, only when the awkward, lukewarm wetness of the fabric or cord hit his skin unpleasantly.
His partner noticed, and knowing the texture would later make Nolan have to change his robe or shirt, would remind him to stop. That would result in Nolan instead chewing on the pencils his partner brought from Earth, the soft yielding texture of paint on wood uncomfortable, especially if the yellow coating would chip into his mouth, or the wood splintered.
So his partner gave him something to chew on instead. Nolan brushed it off at first, embarrassed and upset at an idle habit becoming another thing they actually had to address about him. His partner was persistent, almost stubborn (another trait Nolan liked about them, just not when it meant he was being pushed to deal with his own problems).
So they brought him a bag full of gifts, reminiscent of when they had before, when he actually told them he was autistic, that he wasn’t sure exactly what that meant for him and them and that he wasn’t sure about anything after figuring it all out. Just a cloth bag tied with a ribbon, left in his dorm.
The first one had a collection of plastic toys from Earth in it, nothing Nolan was familiar with, having grown up all his life in Wizard City. A rounded rainbow cube with black buttons and switches was the only thing he picked up from the brightly colored collection, just idly examining it. Ink stained fingers tested every button, and he realized he had been sat there for a while, clicking the switch on it back and forth for that small plastic sound to echo around his dorm in regular intervals. His partner had to explain the rest of them to him, things to use so he could focus, so he wouldn’t pick at his nails just to have something to occupy his hands.
This second bag was full of different things, much less as well, but the amount never mattered. The rubber on them was soft, yielding under his nails, not the best texture but still bearable. a few hung from different cords, one appeared to be more of a bracelet. His partner ended up explaining them to him as well.
It was just a different kind of stimming, and well, Nolan enjoyed stimming. So now he chewed on the soft rubber pendant of his necklace, grounding himself while still diving into some task, holed up in his dorm or some obscure corner of the library to do work or research, his hands full but still needing to do something controllable and regular while stressed out.
It was nice, something he only felt comfortable sharing with his partner, but it was a kind of intimacy that was just knowing each other that he relished in, small parts of him only they would know.
-
Nolan doesn’t push himself to talk when asked to, now.
Being semiverbal was one of the more difficult things for him to realize. He had thought that everyone was just pushing through, forcing themselves to talk when they didn’t want to just because it was socially obligated. After his partner’s very confused look at his generalization, it was made evident that this wasn’t the case.
Sometimes Nolan wanted to talk a lot, sometimes he could talk as much as he needed to, and sometimes he just couldn’t, he even physically felt like he just could not talk, not even remembering what it felt like to talk, sometimes in meltdowns he would hysterically wonder if he ever could talk in the first place.
Talking wasn’t always easy. His partner made it clear that if Nolan didn’t want to talk, even if it was just because he was tired or had nothing to say, he didn’t have to. He wasn’t forced to speak, he could just nod or wave or lean against his partner, his head on their shoulder, or grab their hand, or hug them.
Sometimes there wasn’t even a need for words, but he still spoke them, sometimes there was a need, and he didn’t speak. Neither mattered, because they still had ways to say what was needed. They exchanged ‘I love you’s in the interlocking of fingers while holding hands, in Nolan sharing his favorite snacks, in his partner smiling encouragingly.
-
Nolan... Nolan flaps his hands now.
It was something that scared him, in a strange way. Some kind of admittance of defeat, as if he was showing off some weakness, but he knew it was anything but that, logically. It was just... it was something that he wasn’t used to. Something that felt so obviously autistic that if he even dared everyone would immediately know somehow.
Sometimes he did it in private, at first. Just sitting back a bit in his chair and hesitantly moving his hands, wondering why it was something that was mentioned so much.
Once, while excited, in some little corner of the library, he dropped his pencil and shook out his hands, and found himself just continuing to do so, smiling slightly.
It just continued from there, and he didn’t notice until just now that it was just another part of him, another thing he did. He looked up and saw his partner smiling at him, eyes glittering with a mixture of happiness and pride as they looked at his hands, and he moved them quickly, before shoving his textbook to the side and sitting up.
“You’re not gonna believe this, dear! So, so, so, so-” He repeats the word, gathering his thoughts. “ So! this new theory says that...”
And off he goes, infodumping, smiling, and later he’ll be sleepily trying to finish his explanation with his head in his partner’s lap, yawning mid-sentence.

Enable your Automatic Project Make money through Industrial Automation
Investing around robotic equipment might be a big bounce for small businesses. Industrial robots have ended up automating projects since 1961. The earliest industrial bot, the Animate, caused the cease to live casting machines in the General Search engines plant. Within the last few decade, we have seen a uprise of automated trading programs being incorporated into mid-sized plus smaller providers. One reason is a growth plus affordability of your used bot market. Together with the leaps produced in controls know-how, companies will be upgrading robots ahead of current unit has accomplished its life-time. However, the over-all functionality of your six-axis articulated arm has never changed within the last few decade. When companies settle and reorganize, the manufacturing unit surplus comes.
Automation added benefits include being economical and lessening production time frame. Automation also triggers an increase just quality plus reliability. These will be some tips to acquire started using automation on your factory floors.
Involve a Shop Floors Workers Referring with the laborers that now produce a part is a wonderful starting factor. This is the one who has the experience to find out what works plus what hadn't worked prior to now. They often have helpful insight on the process for you to cannot gain just by watching. Requesting its participation while in the robotic welding project helps it be a little more successful. The laborers who yourself perform doing this can provide suggestions about the arrangement and specifications of your equipment clear, avoiding the chance that the equipment will not be as ergonomically favorable or prosperous as it might be. Failure so that you can involve these folks disregards a insight they may have gained by experience together with the process.
Choose you’re Bot Operators plus Robotic Programmers Carefully A lot of industrial automated trading programs are controlled via teach necklaces. Several of pendants at this moment are programmed which has an interface this resembles an affordable computer. A computer-literate individual has less problem learning ways to instruct a robot plus moving it to undertake the wished-for tasks just like welding and also material taking on. For case in point, the task of switching a hands-on welding process to the robotic welding process is advisable handled by way of someone which includes a solid foundation in hands-on welding. This can be an excellent person to purchase for computer programming or performing the automatic welder. If choosing bot operators, programmers, and employees, special consideration really should be given so that you can motivated workforce that would like to learn plus advance its skills.
Make Training important It is very important when pc robot integrator to pick out one that can offer training to the robotic procedure. This allows your online business youngster should be fully utilize the robot plus minimize eventually downtime resulting from mechanical challenges. Ideally, the human being chosen to the training the treatment of anxiety future programmer or rider.
With good training, the programmer will reliably manufacture efficient plus effective bot programs. Basic ground moves training is actually a minimum, together with the real knowing happening to the shop floors. Generally, your automatic integrator is going to program a person's robotic procedure to connect to your present-day equipment plus leave you which includes a turnkey solution worth considering only your push on the button. Its still ideal to acquire trained personnel with you should the next problem develop. Routine routine maintenance, such for an annual oil replenishment plus battery replacement unit, is also a dilemma you want a tuned individual to operate. Many automatic systems were destroyed by way of well-meaning routine maintenance by those who don't understand the elaborate nature of your robotic procedure.
Watch Section Fit-Up plus Repeatability the best problematic dilemma with welding automated trading programs is section quality. Robotic systems are created to repeat precisely the same sequence with events. In case the robot system is damaged, repeatability develop into an dilemma. Robotics models sold include a repeatability rank and that is taken into consideration along by using payload plus reach wants. Used robots really should be tested to get accuracy plus repeatability while in the reconditioning approach. When doing properly, robotic systems are usually more reliable plus produce portions far top-quality in level of quality to yourself welded portions. Touch realizing and seam tracking is known to compensate to get weld joints that happen to be not static, but automated trading programs are tied to the guidelines of physics. The utilization of quality equipment with robots elevates the section fit-up.
Attention really should be paid so that you can lasers, welding plus cutting torches, welding electricity supplies, live consumables, and alternative variables that could lead to a losing quality while in the finished supplement industrial automation.
Calculate Determined ROI We have seen a continual growth while in the robot industry over the past decade. Experts predict that your growth movement will continue on in long run years. Welding robots are many of the market, but lots of applications is often handled by way of robots. The normal rule-of-thumb is than a robotic welder is capable of doing the deliver the results of three manual welders. Hence when development is boosting, the choice to increase robotic welders is definitely easily justified. It can even improve overall performance, productivity, plus part level of quality. Higher quality triggers a more significant demand for your personal product. Improved overall performance will make it easier to be extra competitive in the market. The superior productivity allows you to meet a person's production demands with out using larger employed pool.

Dragon Dancer: Day of Liberty: Line in the Sand
“Nervous?”
Mingfei looked at me. His brown eyes were smiling. If he was scared, he was getting better and better at hiding it.
“Yeah. A lot is riding on this. And...” I looked through the scope of one of the turrets at the mass defenses being set up in the middle of the Campus square. “I feel bad... depending on everyone like this.”
“Meixiu...” He chuckled and shook his head. “You’re an S-rank. But you’re still a first year. My first DoL I was hiding in the rubble playing dead. You’re quite a bit braver than me.”
I giggled at his admission.
Master List
“Welp, it’s time for me to get ready to go.” He stood up and stretched.
“One pistol is all you’re bringing?”
He looked at it. “Yeah, just in case. I doubt I’ll need it.”
“You’re that confident.” I squinted at him.
He pressed his lips together, his eyebrows drew together. “Yeah.” He said, quieter this time, before walking out.
I didn’t see what he saw. But he was my senior. I didn’t question it. Susie was posted up top. She radioed down to me. “We’re T-minus one minute. Good luck everyone.”
Lionheart members all wished each other good luck over their private radio channel. I moved to an inner room out of range of oncoming fire. There were monitors being fed by cameras and Adams bots. Lu was in front of them, watching for Nono. All we could do was watch, listen and wait.
The Day of Liberty began with an air-raid siren. I moved to sit next to him, heart beating out of my chest. I flinched at the first explosion and burst of activity on the radio.
The supply strategy was working. One division of Lionheart, rushed into an overwhelming force of Student Union members, then retreated, allowing a flanking group to get behind them and cut off one line of supplies, setting up charges and completely demolishing the road. Those of the Student Union, surrounded, quickly found themselves pinned and under siege behind bunkers.
Susie’s gun sent off report after report, slowing down the central column of Student Union members who were heading to the front of Norton Hall.
Lu Mingfei kept his eyes on the monitors. He raised one hand to his ear, sending a steady flow of reports out into the field. “Team B, you need to back up before they flank you.”
“Guys, the group over near the Alchemy building is almost ready to cap it, get some supplies there so we can hold it. Don’t leave that position, we need to hold it. Team E needs help, Team A, you’re capped and out of sight, send three of you there.”
Johann was strangely quiet. I didn’t hear him over the radio. I took a deep shaking breath. There weren’t that many students at Cassell and so many bodies of the unconscious were already on the ground.
A buzzer sounded in the room. Someone had killed an Adams bot. Lu immediately took off his headset. “She’s here. Wish me luck!” He sprang to his feet and ran off.
I quickly looked to the monitors, flipping through the different cameras. Nono’s face suddenly appeared, sticking her tongue out at me. I screamed in fright, staggering back. Then she was gone. “Mingfei! She’s in the back garden!”
No reply. I took a breath. “Susie? Do you read?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got her in my sights.”
Lu interrupted us. “Hold your fire, Sue... I got this. I’ll be going radio silent for a while. Don’t worry... trust me.”
“I trust you!” I said.
The explosions and gun fire were less and less, but when I looked out on my monitor, Student Union were gathered very close to Norton Hall and setting up a perimeter.
Caesar’s voice echoed through the public channel. “You’re surrounded, Carli. If you give up gracefully, you’ll be allowed to keep Norton Hall as your dorm... So long as you disband your club and join Student Union.”
In my ear, Johann’s voice was like a hand on my shoulder. “Fingel...”
“Easy, Boss. Timing is important!”
Caesar’s voice again. “Do we have a deal?”
I switched my communicator to the public access channel. “No.”
“Is that fear in your voice? I’m not going to hurt you. Neither are any one of my members. Just come out and surrender and you’ll be fine.”
Under my shirt, I touched my pendant... and the key that I’d received from Lu Mingfei during Anjou’s trial. “No.”
Fingel’s voice on the private channel. “Executing.”
I didn’t hear what he said over Caesar’s private line or how he said it. All I knew, from the way the front line of Student Union Members surged forward onto Norton Hall property, was that the man was effective. I sprinted to the first window turret, only to duck from the oncoming fire that shattered the glass.
They were right at the door, facing a horde of Adams robots that they quickly demolished.
“I’m pinned! I can’t...” Susie’s voice went silent.
In the second floor ballroom of Norton Hall, Ielia opened her eyes. The massive rune, drawn across the entire circular floor, lit up like a spiders web and sent that power throughout the entire property.
Time stood still.
There was no sound beyond the firing of the turrets as I sprayed the front line with Frigga bullets from one window, backed up and vanished into a Nibelungen gate. Three seconds later, i was firing from the next turret. I continued until all five turrets were exhausted.
“Ielia! Let go of time!”
The doppleganger released the rune. All Caesar would be able to see was a strange light coming from Norton Hall right before every single member of the Student Union that was close to the building fell flat.
Johann shouted, with the authority of a king. “Lionheart! Charge!”
The entirety of Lionheart’s remaining forces flung themselves onto the Student union’s frayed and tattered front lines.
Caesar chuckled over the public line. “Well played...”
“Not a compliment coming from you.” Johann replied.
“Still, you realize you haven’t made any progress, just made this a more interesting battle!”
I hurried to the roof. Susie was down, not from a hail of bullets, but a single shot to the back.
“Mingfei?”
“Mingfei won’t be joining you today...”
I dove to one side, hearing the bullet whistle by and ducked behind a chimney, barely dodging the spray of the alchemical solution as the bullet shattered against the brick.
“Nice reflexes, sis...”
“You shot, Mingfei?” I squeaked hoarsely.
“No actually... Susie did. I was really pissed too.”
“Why... why would she do that?”
“It was an accident. Susie saw that Mingfei wasn’t going to shoot me so she went for me herself. Mingfei pushed me out of the way and took the bullet for me.” She paused. “He really is...” She suddenly stopped talking.
I heard her gasp. I peeked out from behind the chimney. She had one arm over her eyes.
“Carli? Do you read?” Johann’s voice in my ear.
“I’m okay.” I whispered, forgetting to press the button to actually speak to him. I was too distracted by Nono’s distress.
Johann radioed to me. “Student Union can’t hold up under our assault without resupplying. I’m going out to meet Caesar. So long as Nono is out, we’ve won this. Can you confirm? Mingfei’s not responding.”
I had no idea what Nono’s true feelings were or what happened. “Nono... the S stands for secrets. Anything you say here, you can trust me not to tell anyone else.”
“I really do want to join you... I do. But you know I can’t.” She lowered her arm, smiling at me through her tears. “Carli... I can’t take this from Mingfei. So... if anyone asks, say... I lost to you.”
She raised the gun to her own chest. A single shot. Her eyes closed.
I hurried to catch her, fearing she’d hurt herself fainting like that.
I was shaking. She really felt dead in my arms. But her body was warm. I carefully moved her into a more comfortable position. I called, my voice quivering with sorrow. “Nono is down.”
Cheers erupted on the communication link from Lionheart.
“What?!” Caesar hissed and my blood ran cold.
I’d forgotten I was on the public channel.
Caesar’s snarl was more terrifying than the growl of any dragon. “Johann... change of plans.”
