We're currently switch my cat's food and litter to try to figure out what's causing this weird mystery allergy she's had for the last like 5 years and I was kinda worried she wouldn't like the new food bcs you never know, but actually she likes it so much it's actually ridiculous. Cuz like when you switch a cat(or dog's) food you have to taper it like a medication, you keep giving them the old food but slowly mix in more and more of the new food while mixing in less of the old, cuz if you don't you can make them sick, and she is SO SO SO mad that I keep giving her ANY of the old food.
Whenever I go to fill up her bowl I first add in the old food and then mix in the new, and while she used to just immediately start eating when I'd pour her food now she just watches me do the first one, sniffs the bowl, and then sits back and stares at me like "uh mother it appears there's been an error" and then when I reach for the other food she looses her MIND and starts shoving her face in my way and meowing and getting all excited and she only starts eating once it's mixed in.
So like, glad she enjoys the new stuff at least!
#also it looks like her allergy is improving a lot but we're pretty sure it wasnt the food lol#bcs we switched the litter and she IMMEDIATELY improved a bunch#but we still dont think we've found the righ one bcs this one still is a powder kinda and it kicks up dust#and she does still sneeze and scratch her ears more than she should#so we're gonna try this pellet stuff next and see if it works#and I guess we can keep getting her the new food too bcs she really seems to like it lmaoooo#I do hope this is it tho bcs the vet told us we could try this hypoallergenic special prescription cat food#AND BY GOD IS THAT SHIT EXPENSIVE HOLY FUCK#like we could afford it if we really stretched things but only barely#so fingers fucking crossed this fixes it!!!!

Do ferrets need a raw meat diet or is fancy cat food ok for them?? I'm getting conflicting answers, I hear a lot of people are against raw feeding dogs and ferrets, but a lot say kibble is bad

#There are diets made for ferrets specifically but many are. Questionable.#I recommend Mazuri brand ferret pellets for the best nutritional balance#but yes certain cat foods are sufficient you just really need to know how much protein and taurine and such and such#to make sure you’re getting a good food#feeding raw makes it very hard to balance nutrition and may expose your ferret to food borne illness#you can offer frozen then thawed mice and such and cooked eggs as supplements and treats but not as the main diet

What do you want most from your rishlist?
Hey! Thanks for looking at my wishlist. I think you should be able to sort by priority. A lot of the stuff on there is just fun, nonessential things. But I do have quite a few things I marked as high priority.
Just to be honest, probably the best thing for me right now would be any form of money. I do have a ko-fi account (linked in pinned post) as well as tips enabled on Tumblr. Otherwise there’s some gift cards on my Amazon wishlist.
The money basically always ends up going towards medications and food because that shit can add up with this many animals. And I can’t put food on the wishlist bc all the cats are on a prescription diet

#putting them on a new feed protocol to see if it helps my whole.....situation#high high high fiber and just enough pellet to keep them at an ok weight#annoyed their wean date is....the day before i leave but what can you do#and if anyone is sick when i get home it'll be calling waddl time. and hopefully i learn some answers#i'm kinda worried the answers are gonna be 'yep that's enterotoxaemia and there's nothing you can do' which will be a net zero information#but that's why i'm also trying this new diet at the same time#high fiber and low carb diets are supposed to help kits with weaning stress and prevent enteric diseases according to every college ever#so may as well try!! hay and oats is cheap. ish#also happy that the feed i'd like to switch to is also higher in fiber than any of the local options i have#so maybe it'll also help. but probably the biggest help will be finally getting in the new barn and off these damn dirt floors#glad that it's the slow breeding season anyway so i can take a little break to figure this out without impacting my food supply#i really did think i had this figured out last year but i can never have anything easy#rabbits#blanc de hotot#kits

as soon as i learn to drive i can start taking opening instead of midshifts which will free 2+ hours of walking commute to and from work which is 51 minutes each way if im not hauling ass, (45 if i haul and NO pokemon which is becoming a VICE) not including me changing in/out of my walking clothes vs work clothes, if i need to get any groceries or stop anywhere, do anything, etc) which will mean i can start going to the cheaper grocery stores instead of the ones closest by, i can start going to the gym bcs im averaging like leaving the house at 8:30am and coming back at 8:30pm and im just not good enough at my routine yet to like minmax the time requirements and this isnt even including like...hobbies including sitting down for the 40 minute 3d modeling tutorial which is bamboo torture and ive tried sitting down mu white ass down multiple times to watch it but i guess id (bumper sticker voice) RATHER BE LONG DISTANCE HAULING CANS OF GREEN BEANS HOME ON MY BACK

#personali posti#this is about my birds this is me talking to my bastard shit birds#they dont eat their pellets so what i would do was pick up one by one all the pellet leftovers from their food waste (they are on the mix)#and then i would crush them and make them into wet food#but i was too fucking tired to fish out all the atupid pellets from empty shells so i bought a bag of just pellets#very expensive pellets cause i care about their ficking bitch ass stupid shit nutrients intake#i gave them some untouched to see if they wajna try them dry#which they wont lol but i can try#eat your fucking pellets bitch damn!!!
