georgey boy eating his cannibalism meal with a fork and knife and then acting like going to mass is the same as eating another person —> delusional survival
He may not be as delusional as we think. Perhaps. If you'll care to entertain my thoughts on this... Here is where I think George Hodgson and I have a strange and distinct similarity. Ritual Cannibalism is most prominently observed in the dialects of Christian Religion.
Now. One may be a bit more literal (eating Gibson or Dr. Goodsir), yes. But in a Sacrament, the point is that you're recreating the imbibement of the Body of Christ. Taking someone else's body and making it Holy and putting it into your mouth, chewing it, swallowing it, digesting it. Intimately. You can be saved if you eat of the body. I do possess the largest collection of books on Anthropophagy and Theophagy in my area, I think. However, the distance between Symbolic Theophagic Anthropophagy to straight Anthropophagy is as far as you can open your mouth.
How wide can your mouth open? Or will your jaws stay shut?
I suppose it depends on how hungry you are, doesn't it?
#anthropophagy#theophagy#george hodgson#changelinq you're onto something but I think my brain is too wired into cannibalism#I love this ask#I love this ask tenderly#you could not have known I have a broad knowledge on these subjects but if it's a subject you enjoy as well please read:#Divine Hunger#by#Peggy Reeves Sanday#Funny to think that the largest example we have of Ritual Cannibalism comes from Christianity#Millions of people performing Ritual Cannibalism on a regular weekly basis

The Enfield Poltergeist refers to a series of mysterious events that took place between 1977 and 1979 in a home in Enfield, North London. Peggy Hodgson and her four children were at the center of the phenomenon, with reports of furniture moving, strange knocking sounds, and even the levitation of the children. Janet Hodgson, one of the daughters, appeared to be the focus of the activity.
Paranormal investigators, including Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair, documented the case. Grosse claimed to have witnessed many supernatural events, including inexplicable noises, objects moving, and strange voices emanating from Janet.
The investigators believed it was a genuine poltergeist case, but skeptics accused the Hodgson family, especially Janet, of faking the incidents for attention. Skeptics noted that some evidence, like photos of Janet levitating, could be explained as her jumping, and that some of the occurrences were suspiciously staged.
Nevertheless, media attention on the strange occurrences was widespread, and the case inspired books, documentaries, and films, including the popular movie The Conjuring 2.

The Conjuring universe
The Conjuring (2013)
In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn and Roger Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house's macabre history.
The Conjuring 2 (2016)
In 1977, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren come out of a self-imposed sabbatical to travel to Enfield, a borough in north London. There, they meet Peggy Hodgson, an overwhelmed single mother of four who tells the couple that something evil is in her home. Ed and Lorraine believe her story when the youngest daughter starts to show signs of demonic possession. As the Warrens try to help the besieged girl, they become the next targets of the malicious spirit.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one of the most sensational cases of their careers after a cop stumbles upon a dazed and bloodied young man walking down the road. Accused of murder, the suspect claims demonic possession as his defense, forcing the Warrens into a supernatural inquiry unlike anything they've ever seen before.
Annabelle (2014)
John Form thinks he's found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia: a vintage doll in a beautiful white dress. However, the couple's delight doesn't last long: One terrible night, devil worshippers invade their home and launch a violent attack against the couple. When the cultists try to summon a demon, they smear a bloody rune on the nursery wall and drip blood on Mia's doll, thereby turning the former object of beauty into a conduit for ultimate evil.
Annabelle: Creation (2017)
Former toy maker Sam Mullins and his wife, Esther, are happy to welcome a nun and six orphaned girls into their California farmhouse. Years earlier, the couple's 7-year-old daughter Annabelle died in a tragic car accident. Terror soon strikes when one child sneaks into a forbidden room and finds a seemingly innocent doll that appears to have a life of its own.
Annabelle comes home (2019)
Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren lock the possessed doll in the artifacts room in their house. But when the doll awakens the room's evil spirits, it soon becomes an unholy night of terror for the couple's 10-year-old daughter, her friends and their young baby sitter.
The Nun (2018)
When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order's unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
The Nun 2 (2023)
In 1956 France, a priest is murdered, and it seems an evil is spreading. Sister Irene once again comes face to face with a demonic force
The Curse of La Llorona (2019)
In 1970s Los Angeles, the legendary ghost La Llorona is stalking the night -- and the children. Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother, a social worker and her own kids are drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope of surviving La Llorona's deadly wrath is a disillusioned priest who practices mysticism to keep evil at bay.

Favorite books??
(I mean everyone in your little family + you) 😇😇
Helloooo! Thank you for this ask! We have decided to list favorite books by ages for everyone below the cut! So, all of our favorite books as children, our favorite books as tweens, and our favorite books teens and adults!
And yes, each family member is responding to this ask!
Please note there is mention of Harry Potter, I (JIG) know the author/books are triggering to some, so please do not take offense to this, I just feel like the books would have been some read by one family member in particular wayyyyy before all the unsavory details came out.
Also, a lot of these books are my personal favorites, or they are books I actually dislike immensely…so my selfship kids liking them makes me laugh 😂.
Zach: As a child I was always partial to The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams and the Peter Rabbit books by Beatrix Potter. I also loved How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. As a tween/teenager, I liked the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, the Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Ender’s Game Saga by Orson Scott Card. Now that I’m an adult, I’d have to say The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and 1984 by George Orwell are probably my favorite novels.
Violet/JIG: As a little girl my favorite book was The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss, there was just something about the “here comes pig feet” line that cracked me up, I also adored Thunder Cake by Patricia Polacco. As a tween I loved Grandpa’s Mountain by Carolyn Reeder and the American Girls Books. As a teen and adult I’d say my favorite books were/are Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, The Education of Little Tree by Forrest Carter (the best nonfiction book I’ve ever read), Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, The Fear Street Series by RL Stine, and anything by Mary Downing Hahn.
Varina: As a child my favorite books were Winnie-the-Pooh stories, my mom had an entire collection her parents collected for her and she read them to me and all my siblings! I also loved A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon, the Mr. Putter and Tabby books by Cynthia Rylant, and the Amelia Bedelia books by Peggy Parish. As a tween I enjoyed The Tale of Despereaux and the American Girls books. As an adult/teen my favorite books were/are Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, The Magic of Ordinary Days by Ann Howard Creel, and I adore any romance novel by Nicholas Sparks.
Vera: When I was a little girl I loved the Fancy Nancy books by Jane O'Connor, any and all princess books, the Biscuit books by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, and the Junie B. Jones Books by Barbara Park. As a tween I read the American Girl books, but only I enjoyed a few of the series, Samantha was my absolute favorite! I also loved The Secret Garden and A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and The Wish by Gail Carsen Levine. My favorite books during my teenage years, and as an adult, are The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls, any of William Shakespeare’s plays (Romeo and Juliet is my favorite), and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
Victor: When I was little my favorite book was Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, my favorite book series was Curious George by Margret and H. A. Rey. During my tween years I read any Goosebumps book by RL Stein I could get my hands on, I also read all The Chronicles of Narnia books by C.S. Lewis, and A Series of Unfortunate Events books by Lemony Snicket. My favorite book as a teenager was The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, and my favorite book series as a teenager were Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs and the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. My all time favorite book as an adult is Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer.
Vallen: The Wonky Donkey by Craig Smith was my favorite book as a kid, it was freaking hilarious, and the sequel was almost as good. I also loved the Clifford books by Norman Bridwell as a kid, and the No David books by David Shannon. As a tween I read a bunch of the Goosebumps books by RL Stine. Victor and I were in competition to see who could read the most, he won of course, the dedicated bookworm. In my teenage years and into adulthood my favorites have become The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, The Giver Quartet by Lois Lowry, and The Wayward Pines Trilogy by Blake Crouch.
Victoria: When I was a little girl I loved all of the Eric Carle books, The Very Hungry Caterpillar being my favorite! I also loved all the Little Golden Books, I think my favorite one was My Little Golden Book About God by Jane Werner Watson. Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, Each Little Bird that Sings by Deborah Wiles, and the Little House on the Prairie Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder were my favorite books during my tween years. As a teenager I enjoyed reading the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children book series by Ransom Riggs and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. As an adult I’d say my favorite books are Wish You Well by David Baldacci or Go Down the Mountain by Meredith Battle.

The Enfield Poltergeist
On a quiet street in Enfield, London, a seemingly ordinary house became the center of one of the most perplexing and debated paranormal events of the 20th century. Known as the Enfield Poltergeist, the bizarre occurrences between 1977 and 1979 at 284 Green Street involved claims of supernatural activity that left investigators and skeptics deeply divided.
The strange events began in August 1977 when Peggy Hodgson, a single mother of four, reported that her daughters Janet, 11, and Margaret, 13, had witnessed furniture moving on its own and heard unexplained knocking sounds on the walls. As the days passed, the activity escalated, with reports of disembodied voices, loud crashes, and even levitation. Over the next 18 months, more than 30 people, including neighbors, journalists, and paranormal investigators, claimed to have witnessed these phenomena.
The investigation into the Enfield Poltergeist was led by Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair from the Society for Psychical Research (SPR). Grosse and Playfair spent extended periods at the house, documenting various occurrences. They reported strange whistling, barking noises, and objects being thrown across rooms. A particularly disturbing aspect was the emergence of a deep, gravelly voice, which seemed to emanate from young Janet. This voice identified itself as "Bill," a deceased former resident of the house. Despite their conviction that some of the activity was genuine, Grosse and Playfair were aware that the girls might be fabricating certain events. They caught Janet on video attempting to bend spoons and admitted that she had faked some of the incidents.
Skepticism was rampant, with critics arguing that the entire case was an elaborate hoax. Members of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) and other investigators pointed out inconsistencies in the evidence. Stage magicians and ventriloquists suggested that the so-called "poltergeist voice" was nothing more than vocal trickery by Janet, and photos of her levitating were dismissed as her simply jumping off the bed. A remote-controlled camera set up by one investigator appeared to capture Janet faking the activity when she thought she was unobserved.
Despite the controversies, the Enfield Poltergeist case left a lasting impact on the field of paranormal investigation. It became a focal point for debates between believers in the supernatural and skeptics, highlighting the challenges of distinguishing between genuine phenomena and human deception. The case was widely covered in the media, inspiring books, documentaries, and the 2016 horror film *The Conjuring 2*. To this day, the Enfield Poltergeist remains a compelling and controversial chapter in the history of paranormal research.

Enfield Poltergeist
One of the most well-known and extensively reported examples of paranormal activity is the Enfield Poltergeist. This case, which took place in the North London suburb of Enfield between 1977 and 1979, involves a string of unsettling and inexplicable incidents involving the Hodgson family, especially the two sisters, Janet and Margaret Hodgson.
Peggy Hodgson, a single mother, wrote about weird happenings in her communal housing at 284 Green Street in August 1977. In these events, there were initially knocking noises, disembodied voices, and furniture that moved on its own. Janet, her 11-year-old daughter, was the exercise’s main subject.
Events
The claimed levitation of furniture and other home items was one of the most remarkable features of the Enfield case. Witnesses, including neighbors and police officials, observed chairs and toys moving on their own. A police officer once wrote an affidavit claiming to have witnessed a chair slide across the floor by itself.
