motogp 2024 : statistics after 7 rounds

Now that we have a completed a third of the season, let's take a look at some numbers together.

As usual, please find additional detailed tables under the cut. The average position is the average position for races finished. The number doesn't account for DNFs.

poles

We've had 5 different polemen. Only one rider has gotten more than one pole : Jorge Martin (3 in total).

Ducati got 5 of the poles (from 3 different riders) and Aprilia got 2 (from 2 different riders).

Two polemen have managed to win both the sprint and the Sunday race : Maverick Viñales in COTA and Jorge Martin in Le Mans.

Jorge Martin is so far the only rider to have crashed after starting on pole (Mugello sprint).

The worst result by a poleman is P6, achieved by Enea Bastianini in Portimao (sprint) and Marc Marquez in Jerez (sprint).

At every round, the poleman has managed to score at least one podium.

Q1/Q2/other results

3 riders have always qualified directly to Q2 : Jorge Martin, Maverick Viñales and Pecco Bagnaia.

5 riders have always been in Q2 : the riders above + Enea Bastianini (survived Q1 in Le Mans) and Pedro Acosta (survived Q1 in Portugal).

EYE DID !! cota was so neat there was so much to do and they don’t confine you to the bleachers you can chill on the grass if you want. so i went and checked out a bunch of the other turns for the other races (saw the moto3 beginning ! chilled at turn one! chilled at other turns !) so that RULED. and i got to see marc in person (from a distance) twice and he did something weird and sexual BOTH times. and it was so cool just to watch a race outside of the tv direction cut because you get a fuller picture in some ways… like the looooong gaps to the hondas or fabio… and then the complex little dances they do letting people pass in quali was cool… the way they move on the bike is easier to compare… and the actual race was INSANE for the first part everyone was on their feet rowdy as hell EVERY lap until marc crashed (EVEN THE HATERS LMAO.) and then they stayed politely seated until like the last lap like someone had punctured a little balloon. and i liked the podium! i made it in time to see batmav and enea breasting boobily (my mom: WHY is that man so handsome?) and pedro accutanosta. a lil gutted but no regrets honestly !! would go again :D

La lettura di quegli anni, propagandata dal regime, parlava infatti di una crescente tolleranza nei confronti dei conflitti sociali.

Al contrario però, mai come in quegli anni, Franco decide di attuare una feroce repressione contro tutti i suoi oppositori politici, concentrandosi con particolare accanimento sulla popolazione basca.

Nei giorni successivi, il Partito Comunista e vari esponenti dell'opposizione antifranchista e democratica, parlarono di provocazione, di possibile azione di "ultrà" fascisti, poi, di fronte alla circostanziata rivendicazione dell'attentato da parte di ETA, di atto irresponsabile che avrebbe fatto il gioco del regime. La realtà fu che tutto il popolo spagnolo, e non solo gli abitanti di Euskal Herria, furono ben felicissimi della morte di colui che, a tutti gli effetti, si era dimostrato degno continuatore delle politiche del regime franchista.

hello i am fairly new to motogp (i watched a few races this year and plan on following the whole 24 season) i came across your page and saw that you only started watching in the past years. i was wondering if you have any important things/facts/informaiton for new fans to know?? :))

Hi there anon 👋👋👋👋

It's true that I only started to watch MotoGP on the 2020 season (so this is my 5th season), but I have know and watched races way before that. My aunt is a huge fan and when she came to our house, we watched them when they weren't behind a paywall.

Now about what I think people need to know...

For starters, when people shit on Red Bull, when shouldn't do it. Red Bull holds no power on the teams like they do on F1. Red Bull is just a gigantic logo on the caps and bikes. Red Bull sponsors so many riders (Pol, Dovi, Dani, Marc, Joe, Ayumu, Pedro just to say some), so they need to complain about KTM, Ajo and GasGas/Tech3. Red Bull sponsors so many teams and riders that literally is not viable for them to keep tabs and work. It's really a fucking logo.

Because we are in topic of bad teams/management, no team is perfect. Trust me. I could write a lot, but I won't, so basically pick the lesser evil. And riders are no better. they are humans, some worst than others so don't fucking put them in pedestals because they will screw it some way or another.

MotoE deserves more love. MotoE is the all electric racing series and has a female (María Herrera) rider since the begging of the category. Also MotoE is a way to enter Moto2 without going through Moto3. It literally connects European Moto2 with Moto2. But also MotoE is where the Moto2 rejects could end if not to WSSP or European Moto2. They have pretty short races (around 8 laps) full of chaos. They also don't have media training and their official accounts are... just chaos. they races are free on YouTube, so go and watch them. And the qualies are always streamed for free on YouTube, in fact, it's the only place you can watch tem.

And from now on then comes back the story of Miguel marrying his step-sister. To clarify, they started to date before they become family, so basically the ones that screw it it was their parents. Also yes, Miguel is a dentist.

Other than that, just enjoy the racing. Also be respectful.

Aajsdkfg yeah could've been dicey but the team actually did their job for once!!!! 🎉

Honestly I get why Charles was so upset after qualy yesterday, this was probably the best race they've had since Baku and that's starting from 10th and 11th... if they'd only had a better qualifying result... ahh!

But yeah, a positive day on the whole, obviously finishing P4 and P5 lacks the excitement of fighting for podiums but given how messy and difficult the past few weekends have been it's a relief to, 1. see Ferrari execute the pit stops without issues, 2. see Ferrari not make any strategic mistakes, 3. not hear Charles complaining about the tyres or the car not performing the way he wants them/it to. Is this what it feels like to know peace 😭

Quick news recap: rumour has it that whatever info Ferrari got out of the tyre test run seems to have helped them. Remains to be seen if this is a track-dependent thing or if we're actually making progress.

Also, apparently Yuki gave a shout-out on the radio to Josh, a member of the team who's leaving for Ferrari? So we might be getting a new social media admin/content creator. Potentially no more PR Pedro posting 😭😭😭 (I'm assuming they're going to assign him to be Carlos's press officer full-time then?)

Veo que tu también te has dado cuenta de como tratan los comentaristas de DAZN a Lando, verdad? Especialmente Lobato. Lo feliz que estaba cuando pensaba que Lando se quedaba en Q2, lo muchísimo que ignoraron su P2, ni una mención a la diferencia de rendimiento respecto a Oscar. En la Sprint igual, diciendo que Carlos estaba "jugando con él" y ni se enteraron de la remontada a Leclerc. ¿Qué les pasa? Pensé que sería porque no quieren que Mclaren acabe por delante de Aston pero con Oscar no son asi. ¿Tu qué crees?

Le tiene rabia a Lando desde antes de esta temporada 100% seguro. No he podido ver carreras de antes de 2022 en castellano con su narración para ver desde cuando se le nota picao con él, pero vamos, se nota a leguas de que no le cae bien.

A Lobato solo le ha caído bien Lando cuando ayudó a Carlos a ganar en Singapur, por lo demás? Le tiene un asco que lo flipas. Yo no sé si es porque habrán tenido un roce o algo, pero no me extrañaría viendo que Antonio se enfadó hace nada con Fernando, y que tanto Fernando como Lando son MUY sinceros y Lobato muy falso chaquetero. Es eso o que nunca le haya gustado que Lando le ganara en qualy a Carlos en sus dos primeros años.

Lobato tiene buena relación con la gente del paddock y obviamente se hablará a diario con ellos, se conocen y, por lo que sea, le da rabia su existencia.

Noemí, Toni, Albert, Melissa y Pedro no tienen tantos problemas como Antonio (y si Pedro los tuviera, no me sorprendería, son directos rivales. Pero no es lo mismo que con Lobato).
