“Let’s go, Y/N! We have to hurry up, or I’m going to be late,” Taehyung rushes, his hand wrapped around your wrist, tugging you along with him as he picks up the pace of his steps.

“Chill out, Tae. I’m sure it’s fine if you’re a few minutes late,” you huff out, struggling to keep up with the fast steps his long legs make.

“I’m not willing to take that chance. This appointment was not easy to get, and I know rescheduling is not easy; they are always fully booked,” he tells you over his shoulder.

“I still don’t understand your sudden interest in getting a tattoo. I thought you were a wimp when it comes to pain, and now you’re voluntarily going through it,” you voice your disbelief about his recent out-of-the-ordinary behaviour.

“I’m not a wimp; my skin is just sensitive,” he objects, “And Jimin’s tattoo sparked my interest; his looks mad cool. So, I did some research, and when I stumbled upon this studio’s Instagram account and saw this artist’s work, I knew this was the place,” he explains enthusiastically, “He has some seriously next-level designs; all his pieces have crazy detail and are super clean.”

“Okay, and why am I being dragged along?” you question.

“Moral support, obviously; I’m about to be stabbed by a needle repeatedly.”

You chuckle at his explanation.

“Man, I’m so excited, Y/N! This guy is the most in-demand artist at this studio, possibly even in town. Like, he is incredibly fucking talented; I know it’s going to look so rad.”

“Hmm, and what’s this ‘incredibly fucking talented’ guy’s name again?”

“I don’t know his name, but he goes by JK,” Taehyung shrugs.

You feel a chill go down your body, and the toe of your shoe catches on the sidewalk groove, causing you to trip and falter.

There’s no way. That would be too big of a coincidence. A work of fate. A scene straight out of a movie.

But sure enough, you must be the main character of a film directed by the heavens because, as you begin to pay attention to your surroundings instead of blindly following Taehyung, you notice that this is an area you used to walk through frequently. Your stomach twists when your eyes catch that all-too-familiar flashing neon-red sign, and it only deepens when the cursive letters on the large sign above the entrance reading ‘Euphoria Ink’ stare down at you.

You almost want to laugh at the irony; leave it to Taehyung to tell you to try and move on from a man and then bring you along with him to said man’s studio so he can get tattooed by him.

Classic Taehyung.

Taehyung notices your halt in movement, “You’re seriously going to stop walking when we’re right outside the place?” he deadpans, “Why do you look nervous? I’m the one getting inked.”

You know you could tell Taehyung the truth, and he would immediately tell you that you don’t have to come in with him. He wouldn’t hesitate to suggest that you wait for him at some nearby coffee shop or something. He would even go as far as to cancel his appointment and book one elsewhere. But you don’t want him to do that; you know how much he has been looking forward to this, and he wouldn’t shut up about it all the weeks leading up.

And you know better than anyone how talented an artist JK is, having a piece of his talent permanently etched onto you as proof.

You gaze through the large window, sunlight reflecting off the glass, making it difficult to see inside or someone inside.

You take a deep breath in, readying yourself before plastering on a teasing smile, “I’m just preparing myself for when you start convulsing in the chair, and I have to deal with hauling your sobbing figure out of here.”

“You remember I said I brought you for moral support, right? Because so far, I’m thinking I should have brought Seokjin instead.”

You laugh and push Taehyung towards the door, and he laughs as well as he pulls open the door to the studio. The bell above the door rings, announcing your arrival and causing your heart to start beating faster.

By the time Jungkook gets himself out of his thoughts of you, he has already finished prepping his station. He rubs his hands down his face and lets out a deep sigh before he heads back out to the front to see if Taehyung has made a decision on one of the designs he drafted out.

Jungkook walks out and sees you and Taehyung talking to each other in hushed voices with big smiles on your faces. You look so relaxed speaking to Taehyung that it nearly makes Jungkook hesitant to interupt, it’s such a contrast to how you were when you greeted him minutes ago. Seeing you comfortable with another man, in a way he remembers you being with him, he almost feels like an outsider in his own studio.

Jungkook approaches with caution, clearing his throat before speaking, “Hey, man, I’m all set. Did you settle on anything?”

Taehyung and your conversation come to a halt, and Taehyung turns around with wide eyes, then immediately switches to give Jungkook a bright smile and a nod, “Oh, yeah! We decided on this one,” Taehyung announces as he holds up one of Jungkook’s draft sketches.

Jungkook nods and gives Taehyung a tight smile, his ears ringing upon hearing the word ‘we’. So you helped this guy pick out a design that will mark his skin forever—that seems pretty serious.

Jungkook steals a quick glance at you, you’re just standing quietly behind Taehyung, avoiding eye contact with Jungkook as you pretend to look at the other sketches on the counter.

“Cool! We can head to the back and I’ll make a stencil, then we can get started,” Jungkook struggles to keep up his professionalism with you so close to him, yet somehow so far away.

“Ready when you are, man,” Taehyung says.

Jungkook is about to turn and have Taehyung follow him, but he stops midstep and turns to look at you. You catch his stare and look back at him with big eyes, and Jungkook swears he sees you hold your breath.

“You can join us and sit in if you’d like,” Jungkook tells you, pointing his thumb over his shoulder.

You let out an awkward, breathy chuckle, waving your hands around gently, “Oh, no, it’s okay. I’ll just wait out here for him, but thanks.”

Again, Jungkook nods with a tight smile, adding, “Well, if you change your mind, feel free to come in.”

And this time, he actually turns and heads to the back, beckoning Taehyung to follow him.

As they walk towards the back, they both miss the way you let out a deep sigh as you rub your hands down your face. But sitting on a stool in the corner, observing everything, Yoongi sees it all.
