“Happy birthday, darlin’,” Zachary says, handing him a rather expensive looking box with a logo from a rather expensive tailor’s logo on the top, “All the way from Saville Row in London.”
🥳 HE'S A YEAR CLOSER TO DEATH 🥳
Still Accepting!
"Is that—"
"That's not really what I think it is, is it?" He already knows it is, but he too can play coy from time to time. Especially when it came to his birthday— it was the one day of the year when it was socially acceptable to make everything about you and how great you were.
Fingers gently glide over a textured box with gilded lettering— even the packaging was chic, he loved it already. And Savile Row— now, he's splurged on a few suits from across the pond, but it was always a pain in the ass to travel just to do a fitting. Thankfully, if there was anyone well acquainted with his measurements, it was Zachary.
The cover is taken off and he's greeted with a royal navy— wide peak lapel. The sort of wool finish that sophisticated men of leisure would kill for. Grid check pattern.
He's giggling. "I love it. I'm putting it on now. Right now— Fuck, that's craftsmanship." He gushes as he runs his hand over it. "You'll help, won't you? Need to make sure I'm wearing it properly and all."
My biggest OOC writing sin is that I love long visual descriptions centered on characters' costumes, because a well tailored outfit can make ANYONE attractive af to me, but the characters im writing for wouldn't give a fuck or know all these fashion terms lmao oops
Okay so all the way back in October when I was putting together my Crowley cosplay, I went thrifting and found a black blazer with peaked lapels, and it was very Crowley, but it's a cosplay, and those get so expensive so fast! This one didn't have an interior pocket, and I don't think normal people pay this much attention to lapel shape, so I decided it was fine to skip buying it and wear the blazer I already have, despite its notched lapels. Not a big deal, right?
But then in November, David wore this absolutely gorgeous custom embellished tux to the 2023 Evening Standard Theatre Awards that was my favorite thing he's ever worn (pre-BAFTA) and it gave me the urge to embellish/bedazzle one. And I fought off that urge for months because look how many beads there are!! That's a massive project!
But now that David killed me twice in one day with those damn peaked lapels and fucking sparkles, I have to do it. I have to. (I even have an event coming up where I could wear it!) But because I didn't buy that one in October, now I have to wait until I have a chance to go thrifting again and idk when that will be, and seeing as there's somewhere I could wear it and that involves a deadline, I need to get started asap and omfg why am I stressed over this.
Anyway, have some pictures of David (plus bonus Georgia and Michael) making me feel things about lapels because they're pretty and I'm losing my mind over here
