I was surprised by this one. While some plot points/holes were nonsensical (why wasn't the girl Mike's daughter? What was that side plot with the Aunt? Something that was so nagging me and the person I was watching with kept joking about how Mike's parents were still fuckin' after their first son was kidnapped), and it felt to me personally that Matthew Illard was criminally underutilzed I still thought it was a good time.

The movie isn't one-to-one with the game, which I think works in its favor. It really makes an effort to remember that these vengeful spirits are children which leads to some very refreshing plot beats.

Overall, I'd say it's a good time. If you have peacock or can get a free trial like I did and have a couple hours free, I'd say give it a watch. But it isn't what I'd call a groundbreaking horror game adaptation.

A fun movie that is absolutely DESTROYED by the last 10 seconds. .

I enjoyed this one!

I called the twist very early on, but I knew what I was looking for. Performances range from "phoned in" to "genuinely good" but overall it is still a Carpenter Movie of Carpenter Quality. There isn't a lot of gore, or even a lot of spooks, but it does build tension well. It also uses 1960's psychiatry as a mode of violence, which I love.

The soundtrack is great, many of the effects are also good. The characters could have been a little better padded out, but given the run time I'm willing to accept what I've been given.

It was incredibly good. But, unfortunately, the last 10 seconds of the movie killed it for me. It just didn't work tonally, or plot wise for me, and my reaction was both visceral and hilarious according to the person I watched it with.

I'd recommend it, but maybe not all the way to the credits.

The only things I know about Conclave from just my dashboard: It's about cardinals sequestered to vote for a pope and the requisite drama is occurring. There are turtles for some reason. The use of a copy machine is important in the third act. Ralph Fiennes is there. The use of language is important. That there's a Filipino cardinal who may also be the cinnamon roll?

Also that apparently the ghost of Cicero is there.
