I’ve Never Written A Love Poem Before But I Guess You’re Okay

We leave after getting free cake.

Agreeing on the car ride home that if we ever got into harvard, we would immediately do our best to get kicked out of harvard.

You change into my pajama pants and a tshirt I stole from you a month ago and we talk about who we were in our past lives.

We decide that when I was the grass you were the ocean, and that's why we hadn’t found each other before now.

You tell me how once you were a whole planet, with silver oceans and holographic rings.

I think I’d like to be a planet next.

We talk about how at some point we were amorphous blob aliens long before there was a universe when everything exploded we got lost and how it's so weird that when we actually meet we’re in weird meat suits. We talk about how human language isn’t really enough at all and how one day we’ll shed these human bodies and just hum to each other.

Maybe we’ll be creatures of light and blink unknown languages in morse code like fireflies. I will blink at you, and you will blink at me, and we will wrap our golden light up in each other until we just glow together, blinking words that in English vaguely mean “I love you”, but the real beauty of it gets lost in translation.

I wrote this story about us as different people. The guy who is me says “If I called you pretty for sixteen years, just over and over again, do you think I could uncondition whatever it is that taught you to think you aren’t?”

When I call you pretty you scrunch up your face. I have a photo of it on my phone from that day you came with me to get a christmas tree. Do you remember that? I was upset. Christmas wasn’t what it used to be. And then you came and I have a five second video of you furiously trying to hide behind trees from the camera as you laugh and laugh and laugh

That’s important.

We lay and look up at the blue airplane hanging from my ceiling. You draw yourself as a tree in my journal and I talk about how I found this new song that reminds me of you it's called I Want to Play Videogames With You Forever But for Right Now Talking is Enough.

I tell you that some nights I put a playlist with your name on it on repeat and lay in bed for hours loving you. Normally, I think about the future. Last night I thought about the past. Flipped through the memories, one by one and then all at once until they blur together into one life.

One day a long time ago I went to the mountains and climbed out as far as I could on a cliff. It was eight o’clock and there was this sunset and I felt this feeling in my chest, not to the left but right in the center, in that little nook below where your ribs meet.

“Ah. So that is where my heart is. No wonder I hadn’t been able to find it.”

You make me feel like that.

And that’s pretty okay.

I would like to hear you go in depth on the inaccuracy of spn’s east coast bay housing and such in ghost ship episode

anyone in this area who’s rich just like. doesn’t build bigass ugly modernist shit. like. i am really struggling to think of any time i’ve seen a house resembling that anywhere in new england (other than at sm*th but like. honestly wtf were they thinking anyway). the architecture here tends to be VERY traditional in general and on the cape in particular. from what i understand if you live downtown in certain areas you have to be approved by the town to make ANY kind of changes to the exterior (i don’t know a ton about this because my aunt who lives there is not nearly rich enough to live somewhere where that’s required lmao) and like, all businesses and homes have to follow strict building and aesthetic codes. like, you go on the cape and goddamned fast food places have weathered unpainted shingles, which was why i was like oh absolutely fucking not. that’s just, not how people show their wealth on the cape. i mean, i think to a lesser extent it’s also true in rhode island. i’m not as familiar with the architecture/general culture but what i THINK they were getting at with that one was the newport mansions, because newport is on the coast, but if that’s the case - and don’t quote me on this part but i’m preeeetty sure - that mansion would also be WILDLY out of place. the thing about the newport mansions is that they’re like kept up from, at the most recent, the thirties or forties. MAYBE. and if you don’t own one, you’re going to at least be mimicking the style a bit. you’re not gonna see an 80s monstrosity or new style as a symbol of wealth in new england because we kind of really like our history and a lot of our architectural styles draw on that. i mean, it’s not impossible, but if you’re showing a stereotypical wealthy person living on the coast this would be a lot more accurate than what they seemed to show. oh also i would LOVE to know where it’s implied where the abandoned house sam and dean were squatting in is because okay if it’s on the main land i’ll let it slide but i sincerely think it’s implied to be on the cape proper given like, the fact they got ready there and such and if it is oh god no that is not the kind of property that’s abandoned on the cape. it’s either an out of the way teeny tiny cottage or it’s on a main road and people would complain about the eyesore. like, what you have to understand is that the cape is built up as hell. you don’t get many abandoned houses in mass at all unless they’re like, dangerous, in which case they tend to just be torn down. like, think about it this way, you can’t have houses slowly going into disrepair here the same way as in like, the south, because we get too much harsh weather and we have too large of a population density. either the house is near someone who doesn’t want to see it and complains to their local government to deal with it and then they actually usually do or the house gets dangerous to go into within a few years because that’s what happens in mass when no one looks after problems with snow and ice etc. so like, there’s no way a house like that would realistically be squat-able, because it seemed to be implying that the house had been abandoned for a while, and even if it was safe it probably is also the wrong style. anyway that’s my personal opinion on why i had issues with the architecture feel free to correct me i admit i am not as familiar with eastern new england wait for the sturbridge ep soon to see me really get going

Hello! I took your hp quiz and absolutely loved it! I was very happy to get Gryffindor which is what I identify as (although I definitely have a lot of a Hufflepuff in me) 😊 However seeing that only 11% got the same house as me I was wondering what is your take on Gryffindor? I find this very fascinating!

Hello friend! It is really interesting to me as well that the percentage is so much lower for Gryffindor, especially when I put in a lot of my singular brain cell power into making sure all the tags of answers to questions were in equal amounts so that everyone had the opportunity to get what they really were! I may have actually gone on one or two face time rants to my fiance about this hehe. I think that its one of two possibilities: 1) the quotes/answers I picked for Gryffindors are just slightly less appealing to the majority of folks taking it and I could search a little longer for ones that more directly speak to peoples hearts, 2) the fact that Gryffindors in JK’s harry potter cannon are so inherently a rather hard personality for a real person to fall into. While I have my own interpretations of the houses, the cannon is a house for the Brave, the Chivalrous, the Daring. It’s essentially, to quote @peachbruiseboy “the House The Book’s Protagonists Are In.” In this way, Gryffindor has always been (when considering canon only) a sort of limiting house in my opinion, at least in how you can interpret the characters who are in it. Because as humans we are all so very complex, and the protagonists of our own stories, things become a little more complicated in the real world. It is hard to exist in a way where bravery is your “defining trait” per se, and so Gryffindors in the traditional sense are often a less common house. That said though, I tried to have my quiz reflect my interpretation of Gryffindors as well as JK’s. Traits like, “I will love you on purpose”, I will do right on purpose, like impacting the world on a wider scope and like loving/caring deeply, wanting to remember, needing certainty.
