En toda una tradición se ha convertido la caravana que realizan los bomberos de la Tercera compañía “Lorenzo Bavestrello” de Peñablanca por las calles de la ciudad. Este año 2024, se han unido con la Cuarta compañía del sector de Troncos viejos para llegar a más niños, y lo han explicado en sus redes sociales argumentando lo siguiente:

Debido a que nuestro buzón estaba lleno de cartas que serán enviadas al polo norte, santa se dio cuenta que no dábamos abasto 😔 Por lo que hizo el llamado a los duendes de La Cuarta compañia de bomberos villa alemana, y así sus duendes en conjunto de sus soldaditos de plomo pusieran en su cuartel un nuevo buzón para todos los niños y niñas del sector 🎅🏻🎄📬

Typhoon Jenny Strengthens, Threatens Northern Luzon

  In a significant and unexpected development, Severe Tropical Storm Jenny has rapidly intensified into a typhoon, catching Northern Luzon off guard early Monday morning. Consequently, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 for various areas, sparking widespread concerns about strong winds and potential impacts.   Northern Luzon on Alert Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Cagayan's Eastern Areas Primed for Impact Northern Luzon, including Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the eastern portions of mainland Cagayan and Isabela, is now on alert. PAGASA's warning points to the possibility of strong winds, which could lead to minimal to minor disruptions in these regions. The affected areas include Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Lal-Lo, Baggao, Gattaran, Peñablanca in Cagayan, as well as Maconacon, Divilacan, and Palanan in Isabela.   Jenny's Wider Impact Southwest Monsoon Affecting Multiple Regions In addition to its local impact, Typhoon Jenny is also making its presence felt in a broader region. The typhoon is influencing the southwest monsoon, causing gusty conditions across a wide swath, affecting Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and the Bicol Region.  

Typhoon's Power and Progress

Max Winds and Potential Landfall Jenny has become a formidable force, with maximum sustained winds reaching 120 kilometers per hour near its center and gustiness peaking at 150 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is currently positioned 655 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, or 665 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.   Future Projections Peak Intensity and Possible Taiwan Landfall PAGASA forecasts that Jenny will continue to gain strength, reaching its peak intensity on Tuesday. There is growing concern that the typhoon could make landfall over the southern portion of Taiwan on Thursday, potentially affecting the island nation during Thursday afternoon or evening. "A landfall or close approach scenario over the Batanes area is still not ruled out, although the likelihood is decreasing," cautioned PAGASA.  

Maritime Caution

Sea Conditions and Precautionary Measures Apart from the immediate coastal threats, Jenny's impact extends to sea conditions. PAGASA has advised mariners operating motor bancas and similarly-sized vessels to exercise utmost caution when venturing out to sea. Mariners are encouraged to take precautionary measures or to consider avoiding navigation under these challenging weather conditions. Vehiculo menor se desbarrancó y dejó 8 lesionados

El hecho ocurrió en el sector “Los Borrisqueros” de la comuna de Limache, cerca del límite con Villa Alemana.

Un vehículo menor que se dirigía en dirección a Limache por el camino principal del sector “Los Borrisqueros, desbarrancó desde un badén que está luego de una bajada pronunciada.

El “furgón” que perdió el control, llevaba en su interior 8 ocupantes que resultaron con lesiones de diversas consideración.

Al lugar acudieron Bomberos de Villa Alemana y Limache, Carabineros, móviles del Samu de Viña del Mar, Quilpué y Peñablanca, además de personal de seguridad comunal de Villa Alemana y Limache.

Las causas del accidente están siendo investigadas.
