working on a queen b mc right now. her first name is Kohime (meaning "little princess", yes i picked it on purpose - she has a fairly princessy personality [a 75-25 between disney and spoiled, think Amber from Sofia the First] and she also leans a bit into princess aesthetics as a gal. she also wants to prove that she's not just a little princess, she's a queen) but i don't know whether her last name should be Hinata-Hughes, Hughes-Hinata, or if i should headcanon it as just Hinata
she's a trans girl but hides it from everyone but Zoey, she knows how Belvoire is, they'll either bully her or fetishize her relentlessly. i haven't decided if or when she reveals it. i also haven't decided on her sexuality in terms of what genders she's attracted to, but she's definitely demisexual. her love interest is Zoey, but i chose Ian on purpose so she can call him the fuck out for constantly pursuing his student he knows is into girls 😭
for my first playthrough i kept the embarrassing hometown name as Farmsville because i honestly couldn't come up with anything else, but she was actually born and raised in Osaka and moved to the US about 4 years prior to the beginning of the story so she could start her transition. (wait, so if her embarrassing hometown is somewhere in Osaka and she only transitioned after moving to the US, then what am i gonna do about the hog calling video issue? either they aren't gonna think it's her or they'll bully her even harder because two of her secrets got spilled at once)

Not that I want to marry Duke Richards or Sir Gideon Payne by any means, but rereading Desire & Decorum has made me wonder what it would be like to play a more morally darker mc that gets married to someone who is trying to overthrow the king or queen. Something like TC&TF but instead of fighting to get your throne back, usurping the throne. Watching the world burn for you obtain power...

Because PB sure loves giving MCs catty rivalries with female characters! 🙃
(I was gonna include more but I feel like the line between rival and full-on villain would get blurry, so I'm putting it in your hands)

Top 10 characters that should've been LIs
(I'm stealing this idea from @jerzwriter 😁😘)
Han (AME): I do like Mackenzie, but ugh... it's such a waste of time to make a character as handsome as he is and not give him at least a tiny story. And several flings with MC... Just saying... 😏
Horatio (LH): Before Ben showed up, every time I played LoveHacks I was annoyed Horatio wasn't romanceable. Why did PB make a character so adorable and never let the players romance him?
Renza Fiero (TRM): Yeah, she's evil and a backstabbing traitor who romanced one of the most stupid villains on Choicesverse. But I loved her 🤷
Harper Emery (OpH): Well, here's a power imbalanced romance I'd gladly play. She's beautiful, powerful, competent and more interesting than most characters in the entire series;
Teagan (AME): Again, why did PB make a character so sweet and never let the players romance her? I don't get it;
Ruby Webster (CoP): I like Trystan more than I ever expected to like a LI from a single LI book. But when I first started playing Crimes of Passion, I was upset I couldn't romance Luke. Then I changed my mind and wanted to romance Ruby lol. She is pretty, sweet, smart, doesn't date much. My MC would gladly date her;
Luke Watanabe (CoP): If Crimes of Passion was a multiple LIs book, I'd definetely choose his route. Even if I changed my mind later, I think he'd still be worth romancing;
Carter Jackson (QB): I swear I thought he would be a LI when I started playing Queen B. Such a disappointment...
Robin (TNA): I only played until chapter 6 (I think...), but I remember MC talking and having much more fun with them than with Sam. I know they hooked up with Sam's fiancée, but I liked them. And btw, they're prettier than Sam;
Xanthe (ACOR): I'm not an enemies to fuckbuddies lovers enthusiast, but once again I fail to understand why PB created a gorgeous and intriguing character like her if the players can't even have a fling with her.

Thank you for assuring me I'm not the only one finding QB problematic (I hate it), Zoey sidelined and the "human sacrifice) (I didn't romance anyone bc Carter is the only one I'd romance but I picked two diamond choices for Zoey) the whole dating a professor (even though I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the male sprite but I'd rather lose my progress than romancing a TEACHER), Book 2 being about saving Kingsleys' (Ian/Ina) asses despite THEY'RE ADULT plus Poppy being uwuified at some points despite her acts are just not it which Chelsea the writer stated
Yes all of this!! Like it was a fun book to read but it was definitely problematic (which isn’t saying much since many of PB’s books are). I agree Carter should’ve been made an LI! It really does feel like they had originally planned for it to be a single LI book but added Zoey last minute since they didn’t want backlash about the student-teacher relationship
Also yes book 2 being about saving Ian/Ina despite the fact that they’re a grown ass adult while the MC is still at uni. Yeah the uwufication of Poppy I truly did hate especially because she was an adult who made terrible choices and was overall an incredibly shitty person who shouldn’t have been infantilized
I’m so glad you agree with me on this! Like I love QB for Zoey because she was the first female LI I ever romanced so she has a special place in my heart but the book definitely had some major issues

TDSP WEEKEND UPDATE
We are in talks of adding maybe one more CG image, but it is up to our senior artist if she can do it. Our junior artist already sketched one out for an image that was already planned to be used, and it is quite sweet! As for sprites for other characters, we WILL be reusing faces and hair from other books, and then just make clothes for them that fit the scene.
 We know it’s lazy, but since we’re both a small team AND a team doing this project on our own time outside of our jobs/classes, we find this to be an acceptable way to cut the workload. We believe as long as we don’t cut the story, we can reuse sprites. With DS1, we know fans are still pissed off about the story, not pissed off that the Benji (QB) and Brad (TRR) sprites made an appearance.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP WITH THE PROJECT, WE ARE ALWAYS WELCOMING NEW VOLUNTEERS!
As many of you know, PB has dropped a teaser for a sequel of a book with a bloody 2 in it. Since many think it is ID, it only begged the question for The Captain. If PB is willing to change their mind about making a sequel for a more recent book, will they do it for other books? If they did one for DS, would we have to scrap all of our hard work? If it is ID, we still would want to see what @immortaldesiresproject has! We thought PB wouldn’t in DS’s case because too much time has passed since the announcement that it won’t get a sequel AND the book didn’t do so well in the first place. At this point, PB making a DS sequel will be filed in the “Wishful Thinking” folder in our brains.
And some of us think that bloody 2 teaser was for COP anyway.

#however if someone dislikes something problematic they need to be able to fully acknowledge it is problematic #just so it isn’t normalized or made light of
(Not sure if you meant "if someone likes something problematic" but) God this so much.
And honestly, it's not just us that needs to be able to acknowledge when something is problematic, but PB too.
We know stuff like darkfic exists and that some people are able to enjoy them in a strictly fictional setting while not being ok with it IRL– which is why AO3 has warning tags for this kind of stuff.
But PB doesn't warn for problematic stuff. The only two times they did was in QB ("This book includes mature themes, including the option to romance a professor") and TCH ("This book contains fantasy portrayals of BDSM that are not safe to practice IRL"), and even those are arguably kind of a half-assed job considering they don't account for said Professor romance being forced and the kidnapper behaviors of the TCH love interest.
And what makes it especially concerning with PB is that they're not just independent AO3 writers sharing darkfic that they wrote for themselves. They're a whole-ass company writing stories for us to consume, hence the issue of more impressionable readers (as well as people to whom these problematic elements can be triggering!). Just a "17+/sexy/mature" warning isn't NEARLY enough of a heads-up for possessive/predatory LIs, power-imbalance romance, cheating/affairs, etc. And as a company, PB really needs to take more responsibility in this regard.
And even if PB did add warnings for this stuff, I... still don't think they're very good at darkfic tropes? The only one I truly enjoyed was TCH cause it had a solid compelling story and was visually gorgeous (and had some actually flattering male MC outfits). TNA feels like it's forcing me to take it seriously, WB is generic as all fuck with its problematic elements, and Surrender is wasted potential + its LI being predatory contradicts the whole theme of MC escaping a toxic spouse. But this is all just my opinion of course.
Anyways, that's my ramble for today.
Whoops! Yes I did mean “if someone LIKES something problematic”. I’ve been kinda tired lately and didn’t catch that.
PB really just slaps on a half-assed content warning (not even all the time) and calls it a day. The conversion therapy discussion in MaH didn’t get a content warning which I found REALLY shocking considering PB’s large LGBTQ player base.
Yes, I fully agree with you! PB is a company with impressionable readers and needs to consider that. Especially since, even though it’s a 17+ app, a lot of those impressionable readers are minors!
And I also agree that they’re not the best with darkfics/adult plots. I don’t think they ever have been.

The pages in this category are redirects from names that are unsuitable for inclusion in a printed version of Wikipedia. To add a redirect to this category, place {{Rcat shell|{{R unprintworthy}}}} on the second new line (skip a line) after #REDIRECT [[Target page name]]. For more information follow the links. Never substitute redirect template(s), nor place them on soft redirects.

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.
This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.
This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (appearance → show hidden categories) is set.
These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience.
These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).
"Unprintworthy" redirects are redirect pages on Wikipedia that aid online navigation, but would have little or no value as pointers to target articles in a hard-copy book. The name of a redirect may be unprintworthy for a number of reasons, including being nearly identical to the name of the target page, containing typographical errors, or not being encyclopaedic. Redirects are not unprintworthy just because the name may be offensive to some, unless the name is also not encyclopaedic.

If PB wants to shove gross power dynamics down our throats, let it be in a book like surrender or TNA. I will never be over them trashing what could’ve been excellent books/series like QB and OPH by making us victims to our professor/boss. Bro I do not find my middle aged boss sexy man like,,, leave me alone u giraffe-necked freak. And Ina/Ian? If that happened to me in real life I’d fucking report that bitch to the dean,,,,,,, if you’re not romancing Ethan/Ina/Ian then you’re just being straight harassed wtf.
i definitely felt like this in loa1 with all those weird +desire 🔥 points. that shit was sooo weird and turned a lot of people off of gabe (thank god book2 gabe wasn’t a weirdo anymore). it’s funny cause imo every other book w/ a boss + employee romance has been badly received especially when they inevitably end up making the mostly male + white li the main li. that’s what i liked abt tf and books along that vein as everyone was an adult but also like our age range?? and appropriate. if the freshman was written now vasquez would have been a li.

The fact that they only mentioned Zoeys outfit and not her personality or what we could expect from her in book 2 and that she wasn't none of the writers favorite REALLY says alot like I'm honestly worried because Zoey is my LI and I really hope they don't push her to the side for Poppy and Ian/Ina like they did in book 1

It feels like a "beggars can't be choosers" situation sometimes.
A lot of people in the fandom are very passionate about wanting more GOC books– and rightfully and understandably so. Choices is one of the few VN apps that regularly makes male MC stories (and men being included in genres that are usually stereotyped as being "for women" is a good thing IMO).
But a lot of them not only speak over the wlw players, but just either focus on the wrong issues or go about certain issues the wrong way. A lot of the male MC stuff that they call "female coding"? That's just lazy coding for all genders and routes. Their complaints are nitpicky at best and kinda sexist at worst, meanwhile there are plenty of actual coding errors (mostly seen in the wlw routes) that get mostly ignored in comparison by these same people.
THIS!

Who are 10 characters you wished were LIs?
Well, characters that I myself would like as LIs because I'm really intrigued by their dynamic with MC and the potential that there is in a romantic relationship are Dan and Noah from ILitW, though that would only make me more indecisive because that book had some really great LIs already.
Characters that I liked that I would have considered romancing (because the options provided weren't stellar to me) would be Axton from DS and Carter from QB.
A character I would like to see become a proper LI but possibly wouldn't personally go for (because I prefer the canon options) would be Aerin from Blades, just because I'm intrigued by the potential of a dark route (not a redemption route) even though I doubt PB would do that.
And finally, I would like to romance Wes in HSS (and maybe even let Julian be an option since I liked him in the book much more than I did in the HSS app). I had Wes as my MC's LI in the HSS app and I would prefer for him to be with her, but if the book's just gonna disregard that possibility by having him (and also Julian) be dating and/or heavily crushing on Autumn while HSS app MC canonically exists in the Choices book, then he might as well be dating my HSS book MC instead. So altogether I don't quite make it to ten, but it's because while there are so many characters whose sprites I much prefer over the actual LIs' sprites or books in which I didn't like the LIs so I would have taken just about any out, that doesn't equate to thinking there is genuine romantic potential with the MCs, and this list isn't even going into characters that should probably have been LIs for other people, such as characters to even out the male to female ratio of a book. While I'm here, though, Kyra should have definitely been an LI in OH provided that her route only properly got going after she stopped being MC's patient.

so during book one i made a playlist for ina x mc (from ina’s perspective) which some of you may remember and i’ve just recently updated it so it fits with their relationship in book two a little more; it would mean a lot if you could give it a wee listen/like because i am rather proud of it <3
