I think my issue with the various interpretations of Mori's evilness is that there's this idea that Mori went out of his way to purposefully and deliberately target both of Dazai's friends in Dark Era to teach Dazai a lesson, and not that Dark Era is a tragedy where the cards aligned a bit too well for Mori to resist the "logical" solution served to him on a silver platter and everyone (including him) lost something that day (not that he'll acknowledge it)

For the theater AU, what if the world's most mediocre Separatist assassin manages to assassinate Palpatine that night because Palpatine and Obi-Wan are too busy hating each other to notice anything else in the Force and Anakin hasn't had a single thought since Obi-Wan touched him. Anakin doesn't even notice the murder has occurred, nor does he understand why other people (guards, fellow Jedi) think he should have noticed. He was BUSY, obviously. Just look at Obi-Wan in his fancy theater robes.<3

and the interviewer asks obi-wan for his immediate thoughts post assassination and if he’s as dismayed as knight Skywalker at the death of their close friend chancellor Palpatine and obi-wan is like “well it was quite rude of him actually, thank you for asking.
