#ThirstyThursday! I have been waiting too long to get this review out. Life got in the way a bit. If you have not heard of @pauljohnwhisky, #LISTEN⏫. I know what you are thinking. #India makes #SingleMaltWhisky ? Well the answer is yes, and they do it quite well actually. Enter #Brilliance. This is #PaulJohn's first wide release, and it is a hell of a start. It's aged in ex bourbon casks, but is not your run of the mill #Malt. Bottled at 46% #abv is a great start. More flavor is never a bad thing. This should be rule #1 in single malt bottling at 92 Proof this whisky is by no means hot on the palate. The bourbon cask imparts some great sweetners in the nose even though this is a young malt. There is fresh green fruit, confectionary, think of your grandma's baked cinnamon apples. Don't be afraid, go ahead and stick your nose all the way down in your glencarin. The palate is a perfect blend os sweet and spicey. There is Caramel and raw honey that give way to warm baking spices the perfect amount of sweet heat. The mid palate is full of vanilla and citrus. No pun intended but #Brilliance is pretty Brilliant. This is a recipe for success. It's refreshing and youthful with out being overly brash and unmatured. I did not add water, I really don't think you need to, and ice could wash the follow through away. The bourbon cask really imparts some influence and if I was tasted blind, I swear I would never have guess this was all barley. There is a sweet corn feel right on entry and I think it is going to throw some palates for a loop. Well done guys. This is a great entry into the US market. I'm not sure what price point is but I'm in with both feet under $70! Tell Amrut to eat their hearts out. With a malt this good, I hope I never see another businessman from India drinking Johnny Walker and Soda again! Date night with an Indian 😍😍😍😍 aged in charred ex bourbon barrels. This expression traveled internationally to Campbeltown to be finished off at the Cadenheads warehouse!!! What a good dram! This is by far one my favourites! 😍😍 Nose: choc chip vanilla ice cream, salty sea air, spicy, nutty, sugar coated barley, nuances of cherries. Palate: vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, malty, dry, spicy and Salty finish! Delicate but rich mouthfeel. Out of all the Indians I’ve had this expression is absolutely stunning! Er is steeds iets wat ons aantrekt in deze Indische single malt whisky. Single Cask Paul John We hadden eerder de Paul John Brilliance, die al zeer in de smaak viel. De recente Christmas Edition bleek ook al een voltreffer. Dit is een veel stevigere, en trouwens wat geturfde jongen, waarvan de gerst rechtstreeks uit het Himalaya-gebergte komt. Een Single Cask, exclusief voor The Nectar gebotteld. In dit geval gaat het om vat #4819, en uiteraard op vatsterkte nl. 56,0% Er zijn slechts 216 flessen van.   First Fill Bourbon ‘John Distilleries’, de stokerij gelegen in Goa, India, laat deze single cask whisky rijpen in first fill Amerikaanse Bourbon vaten. En dat met een Angels Share van maar liefst 10 tot 12%, onder druk van het warme en vochtige klimaat. Dit kan dus niet anders dan vrij jonge whisky zijn, gedistilleerd in april 2013 en gebotteld in augustus 2018. You’ll like it or not, maar interessant wordt het zeker!
