G.I. Joe: Retaliation
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is a 2013 American military science fiction action film based on the G.I. Joe toy line. This is the second installment in the G.I. Joe film series and the G.I. sequel Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009). Directed by John M. Chu and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the film stars Lee Byung-hoon, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Channing Tatum and Arnold Vosloo reprising their roles from the previous film, while Luke Braceys and Robert Baker reprise their roles as Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Substitute Cobra takes on the role of Commander, and DJ Cotrona, Adrian Palicki, Ray Stevenson, Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson round out the main cast. In the film, Heavy Machine Gunner Roadblock (Johnson), surviving G.I. Jose, his intelligence and infantry specialist Duke (Tatum) take revenge on Cobra for the deaths of their comrades, after an incident involving a Pakistani nuclear warhead in which Jose turns traitor.

Nobody does it better than Shark Killer (2015) #SharkWeak4🦈 Review
Nobody does it better than Shark Killer (2015) #SharkWeak4🦈 #MovieReview
From its Saul Bass-inspired opening credits, it’s clear that SHARK KILLER isn’t your everyday crappy shark movie. Instead, it’s a goofy action-adventure movie with a dashing hero, a feisty love interest and a plot-driving MacGuffin – with a bunch of sharks thrown in for good measure. This is a bad shark movie by way of a Bond movie – and it’s a blast! Chase Walker (Derek Theler), shark hunter…

My name is McGann, Paul McGann
I was just reading up on actors who were at one point considered to play James Bond. Over the years, there were some interesting people up for consideration, ranging from a (very) pre-Dumbledore Michael Gambon to Adam West (yes, that Adam West). Even Mel Gibson was apparently given consideration as a replacement for Roger Moore at one point.
Interestingly, had things been a little different, Paul McGann would not have played the Eighth Doctor, he would have played 007. According to the James Bond wiki, McGann was not only a strong contender to play Bond in GoldenEye, but had things fallen through with Pierce Brosnan, he was apparently the Plan B. I’m not too sure how accurate the Plan B part is, given I’ve also heard that applied to Sean Bean, who reportedly was given the villain role in the film rather than being cast as Bond, and Bean was a much better-known actor (and Eon Productions was more likely to want to use an internationally familiar face like Bean or Brosnan for what was intended to relaunch the franchise after a 6-year hiatus). But still, I think McGann would have been an interesting Bond, probably closer to George Lazenby’s style of playing the character (although he’s often maligned because of his one-and-done status, Lazenby actually was an excellent Bond - ironically, McGann often compared his Doctor to Lazenby’s Bond!). But of course had McGann taken the role then someone else would have played Eight. Among those reportedly considered were the likes of Alfred Molina, Arnold Vosloo (who a few years later would become best known for playing The Mummy), Christopher Lloyd and even Jeff Goldblum.
(I gotta admit, Jeff Goldblum would have been a great choice. I’ve seen the guy in person and he’s basically the Doctor in real life, anyway!)
Just goes to show how things might have been different had certain decisions been made. I wonder if we’ll ever get to see McGann’s screen test, as some have surfaced over the years, such as those done by Brosnan, James Brolin and Sam Neill.

[TASK 133: MADAGASCAR]
In celebration of Black History Month, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 290+ Malagasy faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. Voltron Season 2 thoughts, in brief
-AHHHHHHHHHHHH
-But seriously, that was a HELL of a ride. I can’t wait to see what comes next after that finale.
-Lots of great guest voices this season (Arnold Vosloo, Mark Rolston, Weird Al, Mae Whitman, Mindy Sterling, Ike Amadi, Jim Cummings, Paul Reubens, David Collins, etc.) though my favorite was that they got the goddamn ShamWow guy to play a sleazy knife sales-alien.
-Though the regular cast was no bunch of slouches; Neil Kaplan took Zarkon into downright terrifying and nuts territory, Josh got a ton to play with as Shiro (he just sounded WRONG as Keith’s hallucinatory version of him, and him nearly losing it because of Slav was hilarious), Steven Yeun was heartbreaking as Keith, etc.
-I continue to enjoy how the show doesn’t rely on a strict monster-of-the-week formula. Robeasts or other mecha (FUCKING ZARKON JESUS) only show up when the threat is justified.

Bulls maker roars on after Sharks thumping
2019-03-09 18:56
Cape Town – The Bulls completed a clean sweep of their South African Super Rugby opponents with victory over the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
As it happened: Bulls v Sharks
The Bulls, who beat the Stormers in Week 1 and the Lions last weekend, won 37-14 after leading 19-0 at half-time.
The Bulls scored three tries through centre Jesse Kriel and wing Rosko Specman (2), while flyhalf Handre Pollard added two conversions, five penalties and a drop goal for a personal haul of 22 points.
The Sharks replied with two tries of their own by centre Jeremy Ward and No 8 Daniel du Preez. Flyhalf Robert du Preez was on target with both conversions.
The Bulls picked up four points for their victory and took the lead in the South African Conference and moved into second place in the Overall log.
The Sharks left empty-handed and slipped to second in the SA Conference and fourth in the Overall standings.
In next weekend’s Round 5 action, both sides have the weekend off.

Bosch benched as Sharks name side for Bulls journey
2019-03-07 10:40
Cape Town – Sharks coach Robert du Preez, who had hinted at making rotational changes during the season and after three Super Rugby matches, has re-jigged his side to take on the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 17:15.
After naming the same starting line-up in three successive matches, Du Preez has decided to make a few changes to the team to travel to Pretoria.
The two changes to the pack see Gideon Koegelenberg replacing Ruan Botha at lock with the uncapped Ruben van Heerden named on the bench and Wian Vosloo comes in for Tyler Paul at flank. Jacques Vermeulen moves to the other side of the scrum to accommodate Vosloo.
Among the backs, Jeremy Ward and Andre Esterhuizen swap jerseys while Rhyno Smith comes in for Aphelele Fassi at fullback.
There are also a couple of changes on the bench, the uncapped Maritzburg old boy, Fezokuhle Mbatha replaces Kerron van Vuuren while Grant Williams takes over from Cameron Wright as scrumhalf back-up.
After being a late withdrawal for last week’s match, Curwin Bosch has recovered sufficiently to be named among the reserves.
Sharks lock Hyron Andrews admits that there were areas of the team’s game that let them down last week, but this week is all about fixing that.
“Our accuracy at set-piece time let us down last week but we’ve worked hard to rectify it this week and the boys are up for this match,” he explains.
“The boys hate losing and we learn from defeat, but we’re coming back stronger. We’re tough on ourselves and each other when we make mistakes but it’s a brotherhood and we get on with it.
He adds that this game is all down to pressure – who can exert it and who crumbles.
“We know we can expect the Bulls to put pressure on us at lineout time as well as the scrums so it’s going to be a real set-piece battle on Saturday. If we can put pressure on them, then that gives our backs an opportunity to really play; we have some outstanding backline players.”
