Connor Creek wolf pack group chat:
Paul started it after leaving town, and named it WaywardWolfPack
Helen changed it, to make it a little less obvious, so now it’s just WWP
if anyone asks, it stands for Wayward Watch Party, and it’s for Paul to give them updates on the podcast
Vern let’s everyone know when there’s a tasting at the butcher shop
Rita sends rather morbid memes, and gifs of dogs, which she captions “@_____this is you”
Desmond wants off, but he doesn’t know how, and nobody will help him
Sybillus sends long texts, without his stutter he feels much more confident, and is able to speak in long winded sentences, which Paul loves, and everybody else hates
Paul uses it the most often, and most of them pretend to hate it, but other than Desmond, nobody makes any effort to leave the chat
Please add more, or feel free to make edits of this, cuz I’m diggin it

I love the Wayward Guide fandom, small as it may be. No drama, no fighting, just peaceful chatter about how precious the residents of Connor Creek are (I include the Shue-Hoyrns in that even though they've been there for like a week)

That's the plot folks (I mean there's a few more murders involved but yeah that's the takeaway)
Desmond: I am the Conner creek werewolf guardian! Guardian of Conner creek werewolves
Paul: Truman quivers before him!
Desmond (to Truman): fuck off!!!

I just realised something. In Greek mythology, Apollo is the God of the Sun. He has a twin sister, the Goddess of the Moon, Artemis.
What's the name of the twin protagonists in Wayward Guide?
Artemis and (A)Paul(o)
Coincidence or have the Tin Can Bros hidden messages in the names?

how about an au where paul and artemis get the green light to do a 3rd wwg season, but this time in hatchetfield. What do they initially go there to find? What do they find? Who do they investigate? What do they cover up, and what do they share for the world? (personally i like the idea of the 2 of them running into hannah who just takes one look at paul and just goes "yeah hes a werewolf but hes chill so dont worry" so yeah shue-horyn twins in hatchetfield.-💙
Yesyesyesyesyes
- Okay, so I feel like their inital story revolves around the odd crime/ disappearance rate from this tiny island- where are these people going, and why?
- They're actually there because Paul read about the history of witchcraft in smaller towns in America and where the towns are nowon a blog somewhere and Hatchetfield's clear ties to the supernatural intrigued him
- They actually just start by wandering the streets, seeing who they could talk to to get an impression of the town.
- The first place they go into is Beanies because they need their coffee.
- They bump into Becky (who is definitely Jane!Becky) in Beanies and she tells them about what "Tom" nearly did to "her". She thinks it would make a cool podcast story, and Paul agrees with her.
- Artemis wants to keep digging
- Also at Beanies, Ted hits on Artemis.
- Artemis brushes him off, but Paul seizes his opportunity and asks him if he knows any weird stories about the town. Ted mentions Paul and Emma's wedding and how weird Emma was acting afterwards.
- A bystander was able to vouch, and noted he though he remembered seeing her go into the bar before the Birdhouse Massacre.
- James' Hatchetfield Citizen talks about a time Linda Monroe bribed him and the entire staff of Toyzone to stay quiet when her four boys raided it for the newest Xbox games, and that kind of political power piques Artemis' interst. Maybe Linda is a witch.
- Hot Choco mentions the Hatchetfield Ape Man.
- So they've clearly got leads to follow.
- What really intrigues them though is when Frank walks in bitching on the phone to Lex, and then explains to them that one of his employee's little sister is 'special' and that she claims she 'knows things'.
- Paul and Artemis can agree that they need to meet her.
- So they go to the Foster trailer
- Pamela is nothing but hostile to them, but Lex meets them around back to ask them what they want
- Lex wants money for them to talk to her little sister, which they give her because she looks like she could use it.
- You're right, Hannah immediately knows Paul is a werewolf, but Webby says he's safe so she's fine with it.
- Hannah tells them about Webby, and while Artemis is skeptical Paul fully believes her.
- Ethan arrives in the middle of it and when Hannah uses the term 'witch', he brings up Ms. Holloway.
- It takes some digging, but Paul and Artemis find her as well.
- Holloway is able to explain the Black and White and its ties to witchcraft to them. She admits that there are some paranormal things going on that even she can't explain, but she clarifies they all stem from CCRP
- Whilst doing interviews there, Paul meet... well, Paul. Paul 23.
- They get talking, and Paul S. lets it slip to him that they're kinda looking for some paranormal stuff stemming from there.
- Paul 23 admits the entire clone scheme to him, telling him he can't share it in the podcast so that he doesn't get caught.
- Artemis and Paul are kinda surprised how they found the root of everything so quickly.
- Like, in two days top?
- They decide, for Paul's sake, to blame all the crimes on an elaborate scheme by CCRP where they contract hits on people who jeapordize their iron grip on the industrial plane of the island.
- (But Paul also writes a series of books about a town called Axeville...)

I just want to see the citizens of Connor Creek figure out how to use Zoom
I'm not saying it makes sense for Artemis and Paul to do a Zoom call to check in on the citizens of Connor Creek during the pandemic to see how they're doing but also I am definitely saying that makes sense and I wish it existed

A Guide to the Wayward Guide Podcast: Prologue
This is the first of eleven-ish guides I'll be posting for the episodes of the Wayward Guide podcast. Tumblr is... not the greatest for formatting for easier reading consumption.
But I've tried to make it so you can skim to just the basic descriptions or go into the bullet points for further details and bolding items of note. It gets very unwieldy as the chapters go on. I'm very open to input for adjustments to make before I post the next few.
Chapter Length: ~9 minutes
Release Dates:
Podcast feed: October 13th, 2020
YouTube: December 22nd, 2020
Who do we hear from?
Established Characters: Artemis, Paul, and Ryan.
Guest Voices: Grace Taswell, Kyle Resstman, Katie Engelby, Christa Barrett, and Matt Glenn all guest as other people that left voicemails about potential show ideas.
Episode Transcript Link: Prologue
Placement In Continuity: Should be listened to BEFORE Episode 1 of the YouTube show. The characters clearly speak from the perspective that they did record it after the events of the YouTube show.
Chapter Breakdown:
Intro: Hosts Artemis and Paul Shue-Horyn tease about investigating a small silver mining town.
Artemis waxes poetically about the significance of our key chains. She narrows in on a specific keychain- a silver alloy keychain with the letters “CC” engraved on one side.
She then moves on to musing about silver in general, gives some basic facts about silver and how there’s more to it than meets the eye.
Then she transitions to the intrigue of a small silver mining town “with a hairy history” full of secrets surrounding blackmail, bribery, -Paul injects about werewolves here-, and Artemis finishes with adding murder.
After the Theme Song Plays: Artemis and Paul explain how Ryan's insistent behavior in contacting them was what led to them finding the story they're covering on this sophomore season of the hit show The Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye on the American Podcasting Network.
Artemis and Paul introduce themselves as siblings and the new hosts and producers of the American Podcasting Network’s second season of Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye.
Paul covers the general concept of the show “The Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye”: bringing stories hiding in plain sight into focus.
They talk about how they searched for the story to pitch for their season of the podcast.
They go on to tease that the small town’s story was first brought to their attention by insistent voicemails, which they play, from a man named Ryan Reynolds.
Ryan says he has an unbelievable story he doesn’t want to share on a non-secure line and also doesn’t have a cell phone to be called back on.
Artemis goes on to detail that Ryan kept constantly trying to contact them in various ways: 18 voicemails, 4 letters, 9 faxes, 3 packages, and the cheapest Edible Arrangement.
Ryan eventually showed up in the office unannounced and that’s where the prologue ends.
What do we learn about Connor Creek?
That it exists, has a lot of dark secrets, that Ryan is trying to expose some of those secrets.
The town has something to do with silver mining.
We also learn Ryan’s kind of kooky and very insistent.
What do we learn about Artemis and Paul?
They’re siblings
Paul is the goofy dreamer and Artemis is more serious and grounded.
What do we learn about the universe the show exists in?
That the American Podcasting Network has a show called The Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye that is somewhat like a This American Life/Serial-type show where each season focuses on a different story and this is one of the seasons.

I think Desmond knows something more than he's letting on and that's why he's trying to push the Shue-Hoyrns out (I also think he's trying to protect them without directly saying anything that might put him under suspicion)
