Support Turilli/Lione Rhapsody!!

One of my first major obsessions when I was about 12-15 years old was an Italian power metal band called Rhapsody of Fire. My brother gave my sister one of their CDs when I was around 10 and we’d listen to it all the time and draw and stuff. I think in like… 2004/5 my sister bought a pre-order of their new album (The Dark Secret) and it came with a shirt and we were STOKED. Also around this time youtube was becoming a thing so we’d find their music on there too.. stuff we hadn’t heard before and DAMN. It launched me straight into obsession. I’d try to get my Catholic middle school girl friends to listen to it with me but they were absolutely not interested and I was like “wtf why the hell not are you HEARING this?? Fuckin’ orchestras and choirs and killer guitar solos and singin’ about dragon slaying and demons from hell and epic battles holy SHITT.”

Anyways.. what I want to say is that these guys inspired the shit out of me and shaped what I like in music. Their music transported me to a fantasy land full of magic swords and dragons. They inspired me to write an epic that I’m still working on and like.. I cannot listen to Rhapsody of Fire without getting crazy inspired for that particular story anymore. They’re fuckn’ rad as hell. I mean.. they got Christopher Lee to be on one of their albums!!

They started to split around 2011 and I remember feeling crushed about it, and by 2016 the band had split up enough to where it was totally different than it had been. I’d still listen to their old albums but like… you get depressed when you’re like ‘damn, this is all there is’ you know? But guess the fuck what?? I just found out that most of THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS ARE GETTING BACK TOGETHER TO MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM. Past core members Luca Turilli, Fabio Lione, Patrice Guers, and Alex Holzwarth are sorta re-forming the band!

It feels like my little 14-year-old self has awoken within me and I feel a renewed sense of life. It’s like finding out a childhood-beloved movie is getting a sequel with the original director and cast like !!!! I can’t impart to you guys how ecstatic I am about the prospect of a new album.

Noite do Bem Bolado

Quem disse que o Carnaval no Rio acaba em fevereiro? Pensando nas pessoas com dificuldade para desapegar da folia, o Circo Voador preparou a Noite do Bem Bolado – A ressaca! logo no comecinho de março.

O evento mistura ritmos em um grande caldeirão sonoro comandado por Conjunto Noites do Norte, Agytoê e Sexteto Sucupira. Noites do Norte é uma banda carioca inspirada no universo cultural do norte do Brasil.  O Bloco Agytoê agita a noite com a malemolência samba-reggae.

Já o Sexteto Sucupira faz um passeio pelo universo da música regional nordestina com seus baiões, xaxados, ijexás e outros ritmos típicos da terrinha. Na pista, o DJ Tales Mulatu comanda a festa.

Aos 21 anos, o cantor já teve bandas de funk e de pop-reggae. Mas, a carreira de rapper começou a decolar a partir de 2015, ano em que jogou na rede a música “Flor de Lis”, composta com o rapper Bernard, seu amigo de escola.

E tem mais: o show conta com participações de BK, Luccas Carlos, Camila Zasoul, Tiago Mac e Sant, além da abertura de Anchietx e Youn.

Amon Amarth e Powerwolf

A noite do domingo, dia 8 de março, é especial para os amantes do metal. As bandas internacionais Amon Amarth e Powerwolf vão chacoalhar a casa com dois shows irados. Não vai ter uma cabeça parada!

A sueca Amon Amarth, cujos integrantes são conhecidos como os reis do viking metal, é formada por Johan Hegg (vocal), Ted Lundström (baixo), Johan Söderberg (guitarra), Olavi Mikkonen (guitarra) e Jocke Wallgren (bateria). O grupo apresenta a turnê do álbum “Berserker”.

Já a alemã Powerwolf é uma das atrações internacionais mais pedidas pelo público metaleiro brasileiro nos últimos anos.

Uma das rodas de samba mais queridas do Rio de Janeiro está completando 15 anos! Para comemorar a data, Moacyr Luz e o Samba do Trabalhador lançam o álbum “Fazendo Samba” no Circo Voador.

No repertório, além das canções do novo disco, o grupo apresentará dezenas de clássicos que costumam embalar a roda. A edição especial tem ainda participações de Roberta Sá, Toninho Geraes e outros convidados-surpresa.

Criado por Moacyr Luz em 2005, o Samba do Trabalhador costuma acontecer em plena tarde de segunda-feira, no horário do expediente, no Renascença Clube, no bairro de Andaraí. A atração ficou conhecida no Brasil inteiro.

Os Paralamas do Sucesso no Circo Voador é um clássico! Foi nesta Lona que os amigos Herbert Vianna, Bi Ribeiro e João Barone alçaram vôo para a fama. Revisitando o que aconteceu no verão de 1983, a banda desenvolveu o espetáculo “Parlamas Clássicos”, que não poderia ter outro nome.

O grupo é responsável por grandes hinos da música brasileira. No repertório, estão sucessos dos quase 40 anos de carreira do trio, como “‘Vital e Sua Moto”’, “Cinema Mudo”, “Cuide Bem do seu Amor”, “Óculos”, “Meu Erro”, “Alagados”, “Loirinha Bombril” e muitos outros.

Os fãs de metal sinfônico podem comemorar! A aguardada reunião da lendária dupla italiana Luca Turilli e Fabio Lione chega em março ao Brasil. A apresentação faz parte do tour mundial de lançamento do álbum “Zero Gravity (Rebirth And Evolution)”.

O vocalista Fabio Lione e o guitarrista Luca Turilli, ex-integrantes do Rhapsody, decidiram montar em 2018 uma versão própria da banda. Tavaly jelent meg a Luca Turilli és Fabio Lione nevével fémjelzett Rhapsody új lemeze, Zero Gravity (Rebirth and Evolution) címmel a Nuclear Blast gondozásában. A csapat áprilisban Budapesten is bemutatja az albumot a Barba Negra Music Clubban, ahol természetesen az újak mellett a klasszikus Rhapsody dalok is elhangzanak majd, illetve vendégként fellép a Cellar Darling és a Canterra.

„Izgatottak vagyunk, hogy újra úton lehetünk és Európában játszhatunk Fabióval és a banda többi tagjával. Alig várom, hogy bemutassuk a legutóbbi lemezünk számait, pár Rhapsody klasszikussal együtt” – mondta el nemrég Luca Turilli gitáros-billentyűs.

Ha a szimfonikus metalról beszélünk, Turilli és Lione neve kikerülhetetlen: eddig bárhol és bármikor is dolgoztak együtt, az eredmény mindig rendkívüli volt, amit a metal és rockzene szerelmesei az egész világon imádtak. Most 8 év után a duó újra együtt alkot, és nem csak a régi szép idők kedvéért, hanem hogy egy új fejezetet nyissanak a közös karrierjükben. A zenéjük a régi gyökerekből táplálkozik, ami kapott egy modern köntöst: az olasz szimfonikus metal soha nem szólt még ennyire frissen, ennyire eredetin, drámaian és könnyeden, ahogy a Zero Gravity (Rebirth and Evolution) esetében. Ez az album a bizonyítéka, hogy a két zenész nem csak brutálisan tehetséges, de képes újra és újra feltalálni önmagát, kitolni a határait és feléleszteni egy olyan műfajt, ami már régóta stagnált. Az albumot könnyedén tekinthetjük mérföldkőnek a Rhapsody történetében, hiszen minden megvan benne: technikás gitárok, drámai megoldások, erőteljes kórusok, emlékezetes dallamok és mély, sokatmondó dalszövegek, miközben kétségkívül egy 2019-es, mai lemezről beszélünk. A Rebirth and Evolution (Újjászületés és evolúció) sokkal többet jelent, mint egy szimpla alcím: „Ez jelent számunkra mindent. Ez a zenekarunk mantrája, a DNS-ünk” – mondta Turilli.

Fontos hozzáfűzni, hogy Turilli és Lione rengeteget változtak az évek során, már nem ugyanazok az emberek, akik annak idején voltak. „Ezért akartunk egy új kezdetet, egy új fejezetet. A védjegyünkkel, persze, de egy sokkal szélesebb vízióval.” Kettejük barátsága erősebb mint valaha, ami „bámulatosan furcsa, mert én és Luca nem láttuk egymást hét évig” – mesélte Fabio. Abban mindketten egyetértettek, hogy csak akkor van értelme újrakezdeni a közös munkát, ha valami újat tudnak letenni az asztalra. És így is lett: az album igazi élményt nyújt a hallgatóinak; olyan, mint egy progresszív rockopera egy kis szimfonikus metallal fűszerezve, amit csak ők ketten képesek megteremteni. Persze a névadó páros mellett a három másik zenész is oszlopos tagnak számít: Alex Holzwarth dobos, Patrice Guers basszusgitáros és a francia Dominique Leurquin gitáros neve már jól ismert Turilli korábbi projektjeiből is. A friss lemezen olyan előadók is vendégeskednek, mint Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), Mark Basile (DGM), Sascha Paeth (Avantasia) és Arne Wiegand (Santiano).

Az áprilisi bulira két vendéget is magukkal hoznak az olaszok: a Cellar Darlingot és a Canterrát. Előbbi egy svájci progresszív folk rock banda, ami 2016-ban alakult Anna Murphy énekessel, Merlin Sutter dobossal és Ivo Henzi gitárossal, ők mindhárman a svájci Eluveitie zenekarban játszottak több mint egy évtizedig. Még nem álltak rá készen, hogy abbahagyják a közös zenélést, ezért egy másik vonalon folytatták tovább. Zenéjük egy egyedi és friss kombinációja a grandiózus riffeknek, erőteljes dobtémáknak és egyedi hangnak, ami a tekerőlanttal kiegészülve egy igazán izgalmas zenei élményt nyújt. Az est másik vendége egy német gothic metal csapat, a Canterra, akik 2009-ben alakultak, akkor még Avatar néven. Debütáló albumukat, a First Escape-et 2016-ban adták ki.
