Description

As described by Ovid, Bacchus, disguised as a bunch of grapes, deceives the nymph Erigone. Originally the painting, together with P442, formed part of a set of four representing the Seasons, all of which were shaped in the same manner and engraved by Charles Duflos in 1751. From their shape and low viewpoints it is clear that they were painted as overdoors to be inserted into decorative panelling. The other two pictures in the series depict the winter as return of Diana from the hunt (Retour de chasse de Diane; Paris, Musée Cognacq-Jay) and summer (Les confidences pastorale; Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Two of the seasons were thus depicted in the guise of mythological subjects, two as pastorals.

The most well known of San Francisco's numerous pedestrian streets is that section of Filbert Street between Montgomery and Battery streets on the steep eastern slope of Telegraph Hill - the Filbert Steps. This pastoral enclave, which includes the cross streets Darrell Place and Napier Lane and the nearby Greenwich Steps, is dotted with cottages that are testament to the bittersweet challenge of cottage living.

More Insane Kyle, Basically.

Stan was playing his video games, leaning back on his family's couch before his best friend, turned boyfriend, walked into his house.

I. Kyle: Heeey Stan~

Stan: Yea Ky?

I. Kyle: Guess what today is.

Stan instinctly knew that tone in Kyle's voice. He paused his multiplayer game, looked on his phone, and saw the date. His heart sank and skin became white as a ghost as he saw it was their anniversary. Stan tried to make a run for it but tripped on his shoelaces and fell onto the carpeted floor. Before he could get back him, he felt Kyle take both of his arms and put them behind his back, then handcuff his hands.

Stan: K-Kyle! Let's talk about this!

I. Kyle: No, NO! I worked hard on reservations at that fancy itallian restaurant. And I will not have them go to waste!

Kyle then hoisted Stan up from the ground, having Stan face him as his face was nearly as read as his fro.

I. Kyle: Now, we are going to have a wonderful afternoon and then leave 2 hours later, THEN we're both heading to my house, to my room, and cuddle. Got it?!

Stan nodded his head as he was scared shitless.

I. Kyle: Good~! Oh, we gotta hurry. The others are probably waiting for us!

Stan: R-Right- wait others? Is this a double date?

I. Kyle: Well~...
