notre dame - this song is so niceee, the voice is so calming yet desperate? idk if that's the right way to describe it, but it's how i'm gonna. i love how the instruments go together erheregehhss!!! ALSO THE LYRICS. they're so pretty, this song is so pretty. definitely different to my music style, but i still loved it. i'd say a 7.5/10 :]

rabbit run - this one is so cool, not really my type of song tho!! it's got like an upbeat sound but then sadder lyrics which i love ! <3 i really like that in the first verse + chorus it's kinda slower and then speeds up + changes tempo (? idk im not good in music terminology) it just makes it sound sm cooler ehagdjhasg!! 5.7/10 !

teach me about dying - I LOVE THIS ONE its got upbeat music from the start, and the sadder lyrics like i loved in the prev one ! but its also saying "teach me about dying, so i can learn how to live." which to me is saying you need to see the bad before you can properly see the good? it also has this 80s feel i really like it! 9/10

when i can't sleep - the intro really reminded me of pink pony club by chappell roan. it's really soft and prettyyyy ! Idk how else to describe this other than delicate and oceany! 8/10

symphony - aagfhgoossh ur music taste is actually so pretty, i love these sm. i think this one may be closer to music i listen to !! 9.5/10 !!!

fool's gold - this one's not rly my style, but i wouldn't mind listening to it [like if im listening to music with friends]. still loved the lyrics, the meaning in them's quiet evident ! 4.5/10 (i'm giving everything .5s oopsies)

alaska - i think uve started an obsession with maggie rogers for me, her voice is so pretty and she fits right with the instruments so well (that sounds weird but wtv!!) 9/10

helen of troy - I FORGOT ABT LORDE I HAVENT HEARD HER IN SO LONG. she's so good, i never really got into her but i'm def adding this song to my playlist!! the chorus is so HSUSIABDYX7AI its js a delicious song i love it. 9/10

I also am supposed to have larger-than-normal nails, according to the reports? Listen, we all have our off days, and there is no need to point them out in such a fashion. Now I feel just like my listeners decided to gang up on me to criticize my behavior and appearance! And though I decidedly do not remember participating in any of the events listed in the reports, I am sure there are good reasons for it. I forget stuff all the time! It doesn’t mean anything! So please, try being nicer to your dear ol’ Cecil in the future — no calling me out on screaming and snarling when the most I give is a louder-than-normal snore. My nails — well, I’ve trimmed them just yesterday, but now you’ve got me worked up over their size. What is the average size of nails? Am I doing this wrong? I am beginning to wonder if I’ve ever seen anyone’s nails for long enough to notice their size. Is that a myth? Ah- no, I see intern Paula’s nails just now. I am now comparing her nails to mine. Hmmm. They are certainly smaller. Well, this might be a cause for concern — maybe I do have larger-than-average-nails! Then again, we as a town appreciate diversity, be it in skin color, species or nail length. So, I will choose to ignore those reports and carry on with my broadcast, to the weather.

Encore un formidable épisode !

J'ai aimé les touches d'humour (Michel Drucker, Tarzan... 😂), le moment d'émotion entre Jean-Paul et la major Kerouac, le suspens de la grossesse de Lili (un peu de déception aussi qu'elle ne le soit pas) et bien sûr les échanges entre Cassandre et Roche.

Une intrigue qui nous tient en haleine jusqu'à la fin.

Et encore une belle distribution dans cet épisode !

J'ai juste un petit regret... encore un pari qui ne sera pas honoré 😮‍💨 ! Nous on n'oublie pas mais on dirait bien que Cassandre et Roche, oui. Ça va leur en faire des restos 😋

Icelandic bands

There is something truly ethereal about bands that come from Iceland. Is it because of their country’s beautiful landscapes? Their breathtaking colours and their intense loneliness? It does gather a lot of material for a deeply emotional music.

Let’s travel to the other side of Europe and dive into calm and unique Icelandic songs.

1. Sóley

Sóley is an artist I discovered last year. I came across a live version of her song « I’ll Drown » in my YouTube recommendations and my heart melt. With a simple loop pedal, she creates a hypnotic atomsphere that took my breath away. I was instantly moved by the timbre of her voice and by the rhythm of the song.

As most Icelandic songs are, they are simple but extremely powerful and emotionally charged.

I would also highly recommend listening to « Endless Summer » which profoundly moved me as well.

2. Pascal Pinon

These twin sisters blew my mind with their album « Twosomeness ».  I don’t know how many times I have listened to it. They sing both in Icelandic and in English and their songs are a mix of ethereal, breathtaking vocals and harmonies. I cannot recommend them enough.

The group has described their music as “simple and honest, filled with both melancholy and optimism. We hope to make music that can inspire, soothe heartaches and warm you inside.” (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_Pinon_(band). And I couldn’t agree more.

Their third album, « Sundur » is just as beautiful.

3. Sigur Rós

You’ve most probably have already listened to one of their songs. Sigur Rós have written many score songs for famous movies and TV series (such as Black Mirror) and their songs were featured in many movie and series soundtracks as well (Upside Down, Orphan Black, Sense8...). The high-pitched voice of the singer will take you to another dimension.

4. Kaleo

Kaleo is a bit of a mix of different genres. The band is currently based in Texas (hence the deep blues and rock influences of songs such as « No Good » or « Broken Bones » - which are absolute treasures). Their entire album is magnificent and the last songs sound closer to the folk tradition. The singer, JJ Julius Son, has a really polyvalent and powerful voice that definitely took my breath away.

I always shed a little tear when I listen to "Vor í Vaglaskógi » which is an ode to Icelandic landscapes. The hypnotising rhythm of the electric guitar and strings and cannot leave you unmoved.

5. amiina

Amiina is a band whose music could fit in many movie soundtracks too. Mostly instrumental, their album will let you travel to different parts of the world with the power of their music only. Their songs are also really relaxing. And they are a female band! Here are a few songs that I’ve listened to a lot :
