How Harry Could Improve

1. Post! Photos! On! IG! Nobody expects selfies from him but just the occasional pic of him on vacation, or something quirky he's seen on his travels, or a book he's read and recommends! His caption game used to be strong and showcased his sense of humor.

2. Find another London best friend who isn't Controversial Corden who nobody likes.

3. Take more care with your street style. Leave the hair clip, the woolly hat and the trackies at home. He killed street style between 2013-2017.

How Louis Could Improve

1. He won't stop smoking cigarettes and weed but he could stop glamorizing it by posting photos of himself doing it. I can't think of anyone else who does that these days including his idol Liam G.

2. Don't drink alcohol on stage or take pics with fans when you're clearly very drunk or high.

3. Ditch the fake Manchester accent you use when you sing. He never had this in 1d or on Walls. A lot of fans found the FitF songs hard to understand.

For Harry:

1. I miss Harry being active on social media. I know he might be trying to seem mysterious and unattainable, but I remember even when he posted while in 1D, at least in the years that I was a fan, he still retained that mystery and intrigue because his tweets were often cryptic and he rarely posted on instagram. Likewise, those posts also had cryptic captions. He comes off as super pretentious when he refuses to engage with fans via social media when most other celebrities do.

2. You are who your friends are. He has multiple zionist friends, has a bizarrely obsessive allyship towards Jewish people and Judaism, and pumps his fist at the Israel flag. It's clear that he is a PROUD zionist—but not proud enough to lose his career over his views. I know many celebrities right now aren't speaking up, but I'd rather they just tell us they're on Israel's side than say nothing. Like, don't be a pussy about it.

3. His street style used to look so fashionable and interesting. I guess he's just tired these days of having to "go to work" and get papped, so he doesn't put the effort in most of the time. That's my guess.

For Louis:

1. Yeah, there are no excuses for that. He needs to have some shame, especially when he knows he has so many teen fans. Most smokers I've known have discouraged me from picking it up. All Louis is doing is encouraging. Like, why? If time travel was possible, I wonder if Louis would want to tell his past self not to start smoking. Like I said, most smokers I've known regret it.

2. He has a very serious problem. Every alcoholic I've known used alcohol to "self-medicate" when all they had was depression, anxiety, or some kind of personality disorder that they never got diagnosed. I've talked about this before—I think Louis has ADHD and has not gotten a diagnosis. I have it myself, so that's why I recognize the symptoms he showcases. He was an alcoholic before his mother died, but I think it's only worsened since then. He's going down the route Liam (Payne) went. I fear he'll never recognize the problem for what it is though.

3. In 1D, they all had to sing in semi-American accents, so I wouldn't use that as an example of what Louis's "real accent" is. I'm not great with British accent differences, so if you could give me an example of Louis singing a specific word in both Walls and FITF in completely different accents, please do. If he really is putting on a fake accent to copy Liam Gallagher or whatever, that's... really cringey, ngl.

I see so many antis think Larry means we’re obsessed with H and L being together. But to me, after all the evidence, to believe in Larry is to believe they’re good people. Because there’s such a contrast between the way Louis was portrayed in 2015 and 2016 for example vs. today, with partyboy Louis (the Louis who’d get papped with girls and had articles written about how many women he’d taken to his hotel room) being replaced by this almost blank canvas. Perhaps even a blank canvas for people to project their own feelings of desire onto. Yes the media have mentioned his ‘girlfriend’ in interviews and such (before the break-up was announced) but in general his image is mostly of someone who is sexually-unavailable. He’s not marketed as someone desirable and that’s likely a conscious decision, his focus is on the music and that’s totally fine. I also think partly it helps him retain some kind of ambiguity around his sexuality which, understandable! Do what you need to do!

I don’t fully agree with you on this. I don’t think there’s any space with the sexual projections on Louis. For instance, I’ve never seen a y/n x Louis in my life EVER. Even the simple fact Party Boy downright ended up with a kid seems very categorical to me. They didn’t give you the multiple one night stands, the multiple dating rumours, the multiple public partners. He’s the guy who settled down with a girl at 18, broke up, lost the track for a couple of months and coincidentally in that time had a child with a social parasite girlie (what are the chances of this happening in reality omfg) and then went back to the usual gf. He’s not a blank canvas on this topic.

It should tell a lot the fact his own fans perceive him more as a big brother/bestie whom they like to call daddy when he shows a bit of his powerful boss aura. It’s probably an age issue too now. There’s a lot of difference between Louis, who is approaching 32 and the average fan (usually barely 20). And now that I think about it, this could explain why they tried to introduce the latest stunt. She was young, same age as a normal Louis fan, probably into the same stuff too. I’ve never thought it could be a way to reconnect with his fanbase and I’ll have to sit on this and think, but it’s just a possibility at this point lol

The thing is it didn’t work they way they hoped it would because they have been feeding people another Louis for ages. Yes, he was the menace with the best sex innuendos, they took that away. Yes, he was possibly the biggest flirt, they took that out of the brand. And that’s what you have now an insanely hot young man who has potentially every skill to be the daddiest mf in the biz who never talks about sex or shows any interest in it. The contrast with Harry is soooo striking. Like you don’t have a single song in Harry’s entire discography where there isn’t a sex related whatever. Music videos, interviews, just in general the things he says or does (pleasing everyone?)

It’s the polar opposites agenda.

Louis is caught off guard but then quickly says “yeah, yeah the kid is the future!” then, later on, when Zach mentions he saw Louis in LA, Louis goes into asking him which night to not wait for him to answer just to say “my son was there” and to talk about this beautiful emotional moment he had with Freddie, locking eyes with him (backpedalling bc how do you do that at the YouTube theater lol it’s way too far and dark). He’s eloquent and goes into detail about how Freddie goes to bed at 7 usually. Then later on, Zach again brings up Freddie, asking if he’s part in shaping his idea of success, and again Louis is caught off guard and stumbles over his words, stuttering and rambling. It seems clear he’s confident in talking about him when he’s initiating but swimming when someone else brings it up non-planned. He also doesn’t see him in his future, keeps forgetting about him there, or with the song writing. Extremely interesting as well is that the Freddie bit is the first (only?) snippet posted to Zach‘s TikTok. He also seems to be awfully concerned about his arse tattoo being seen by new people in situations where he’s about to get frisky with them: two questions - what about eleanormegirlfriend? And in which hetero context is his arse the first thing you see when taking his clothes off for sex?

I will edit to add as we go through this promo season, but as of now, we have 29 / 91 Freddie mentions during interviews for LT2 Faith in the Future promo, all of them seem out of place if you pay close attention (why would you advertise your album with your six year old son after supposedly crying for privacy before?), and on almost every single occasion he signals through clothing / topics. I believe it wasn’t pre-discussed that the interviewer would bring up Freddie, as Louis got caught pretty off guard and wasn’t signalling with his clothes. The interviewer did say he watched a lot of recent videos and clips of him before the interview, so I guess he saw that big fat Freddie segment from Australian morning TV as his preparation for the interview.

Depending on the format, they either have predetermined talking points and provided images and visuals, like for Lorraine and RTL, where the programme focuses more on celeb gossip, or he finds ways to inject a Freddie mention into the segment himself (ladbible, radio deejay,...). LTHQ posting that snippet of the ladbible segment though is extremely telling. They are using narration points they know fans will recognise and are backed up by fan videos etc, like the LTWTLA1 show. It’s also interesting that Louis rarely mentions Freddie when fans are present like in Q&As and M&Gs.

There are a few talking points that crystallize this promo run:

Faith in the Future was a phrase he chose before the pandemic and is his, that he felt a connection to it, it spoke to him, a magnetism, and he likes to share it to mean something hopeful but is adamant about it being around since about 6 months before lockdown (Future Is Now = Faith In The Future = The End Plan developed before lockdown started?)

They are also setting the tone for how to handle the scandal: they are putting a lot of emphasis on how positive and hopeful Louis is now, after achieving some sort of clarity during lockdown, that in the face of tragedies he just wants to focus on the positive and move on, and definitely wants NO pity - and that he seems to never get a break, when things are finally going his way, tragedies hit. Incredible set up for those couple of months between this FitF promo cycle ending early 2023 and before the tour starts - and fans will already have bought the tickets and have time to calm down. It will also allow for him to withdraw, regroup, and then carry on like he’s been saying: he will look gracious, strong and congruent to his words. No one will take it badly that he keeps on enjoying his life and success after the scandal breaks after a period of privacy. It is genius and I am so excited for this to unravel. They are really, really good.

Err... I don't know. I don't think it's realistic to think he can be stunt free but still closeted, so things are going to happen one way or the other. It doesn't necessarily need to be a beard like Eleanor was, maybe babygate will be enough to solidify his heterosexual image and keep everything "under control". Or maybe we will see partyboy!louis 2.0 officially back, and then partying and taking girls home and rumours and instagram likes will be enough. There are a few possibilities, but I honestly hate all of them, I think things with Eleanor were easier. I don't know Louis' long-term goals or what were his choices, but I'm sure decisions were made based on a better scenario for him, so oh well... let's just sit back and watch how this goes, I'm not getting into too many theories and guesses at this point.

Like, him basically sleeping with everything with a pulse (and female ofc 🙄). Do they really think a guy like that wouldn't know how to use protection? Or that other people wouldn't pick up on that? Hi. I found your blog very recently and I found out that you were one of the og solo Louie so I thought it's best to ask you about this. So I was a casual fan during 1d. But left the fandom in 2015 right before louis "LA party boy Era" and i became a solo Louie this year. All I know from that Louis fuck boy Era is pictures. Clubbing with different girls and his car full of girls and his friends. Without any context. Is it true that he never took those dirls home? Or that some girls said that when they got to his place he disappeared and it was just his friends? Like is there any receipt about that whole thing? And how was the fandom's dynamic back then? How did everyone react when his image started to shift so drastically?

i wasn't around back then but i heard a lot of stories and i've been meticulously trying to archive so, some observations:

- looking back at ALL those club pics it all looks quite tame. we got ~*incriminating snapchat photos via DM*~ from that infamous wild night, you can judge for yourself what it looks like. there was a bunch of highlights in that louis crammed himself on calvin's lap at one point, oh wait it happened another time *this didn't look safe) oli and the cousin(?) seemed to be getting on (gross). sometimes the appearances coincided with convenient azoff info.

- "receipt" about the LA partying, one of the girls clearing something up. does this count?

- fandom had already been primed by @goodbyeadulthood the "insider and/or plant" information on image control and had even created a post about how easy it would be to rebrand the boys, louis as a womanizer, for one. (before disappearing GBA pushed the idea that niall would imminently take over as the band's 'frontman' and harry be more in the shadows.) some people thought it was nice the he was having fun.

- there was also a general consensus that a rebrand was happening because there were some good articles around the time--Project No Control took place around then too, and it was acknowledged by everyone and well received.

-of course it's not fandom without bullying;

- "big larries" said this was a plan from papa azoff. (they also thought the weed video and douis were azoff moves.) "big larries" led by emmie also set up a private blog to discuss what they should and shouldn't promote on their blogs, including partyboy louis; holo and h v ot3 was also supposed to be suppressed and dismissed (i can't find that post now but the screenshots are still there.)

eta: oh yeah louis was partying with taylor at one point, and that was considered a very big deal 1/2

i am the new larrie again lol so the whole louis is a father thing is a bit complicated tbh. so like i said i wasnt in the fandom back than, thinking of it i have actually no idea why or where i heard of louis becoming a father. (it's not like they were like "louis tomlinson is becoming a father, and now: the weather" in the austrian news lol) but that was literally all i knew about it: partyboy louis got a random girl pregnant. when i fell in the rabit hole in october and watched all those videos it was obv the full picture that made me realize it. i remembered hearing about him becoming a father, got confused ("okay now i have a problem, i am newly convinced H and L are together, something isnt adding up") and immediatly watched some bg videos. i was just really lucky that i had all of the weird things surrounding the pregnancy summarized in one video lol i really dont know how all of the og larries didnt get mad when it happend. i dont know if i could have handle the news back then

Ah ok this makes perfect sense!! Btw I have to add that partyboy Louis was legit born in front of our eyes at the Asian leg of the tour, and it ended in a few months just to almost completely disappear. (Party Image out/bg believable/ job done…)
