The short version of this is I offer a partial payment option for shop purchases of $300 or more. 50% payment is due upfront, and monthly payments after that. When the final payment is received, you will receive your purchase. Before any payments are made, however, I will need to write up a contract for you to sign with terms we agree upon. Your options for payment are PayPal invoice (my preference), Stripe invoice, Venmo, CashApp, and Western Union.

I've spent years working with very vulnerable women, but I still forget just how easy it is for a man to destroy a woman's life: chip awag at her self-esteem until she doesn't trust herself; convince her to move (so he can get a better job and isolate her, so she can work part-time and be a housewife); inflict an unwanted pregnancy (he can support her, she can leave school/work); burden her with care responsibilities (he's working, but she's not working as much, she can care for the parents and the children, just like her mum, aunts, and older female friends)...

And, when she realises what he's done, what can she do about it? If he destroyed her self-esteem, she thinks she deserved it for being stupid, because that's what society says about women like her; if he convinced her to move, she'd need to organise somewhere to live when she moves back, and rent is expensive, and all her stuff came with her (even harder if she moved countries, has a work gap, and/or her parents live overseas and depend on his income); if she's pregnant, she needs to jump through 'oh, are you sure you want this?' hoops and pay for it (apparently, it costs around AUD$500 for the abortion pills) or maintain it (and know that it'll cost more to have a child, and chain her to him); if she has those care responsibilities, she can't just walk out on those she cares for (she'll be punishing them, and she'll potentially be punished in the courts)...

Rex comes forth to Haoxuan with sketches for a potential doll design. Though it doesn't seem like Rex's style: for the most part it's very gothic. "Tell me what you think, if it's doable and how much it'll cost. I don't mind splurging a bit on this one."

The sketch presented to him was crudely done, but with plenty of detail, notes in the margins. There was a clear vision here, something particularly gothic and with certainly spooky vibes. Haoxuan's sunset gaze traversed the scrawling handwriting repeatedly and compared the writing to the drawing, words of some sort of Japanese fashion echoing in the back of his mind.

( What was it again? Gothic kei? Something about Nabokov... )

A simply nod presented his initial answer, because he would be a fool to turn down a commission where the client admitted that they were willing to splurge. For whatever reason, Rex really wanted this doll design to come into fruition.

It'll take probably two to three weeks. ❞ As with any creative craft, one paid for the cost of materials as well as the hours of experience of the craftsman. Eyes then lifted, stoicism written in the dollmaker's expression despite openly studying the other. This wasn't Rex's style in the slightest, and the guy didn't seem even remotely into gothic stuff. Sure, he got mopey on occasion, but not enough to warrant a custom doll with such a specific taste. The answer was self-evident: it was a gift, most likely.
