I’m no Wavezilla, I’m no tomato but I have been doing parkour for ten years now and I wanted to share what I thought about it.
I have put my heart and soul into this film and I hope you all enjoy what it was like growing into the parkour person I am today.
If you watch the film know you are taking a piece of my heart with you. Thank you all. Love you 💚.

Parkour civilization has a great idea behind it. The plot on its own is genuinely good. However. Evbo, genuinely could not have portrayed it worse. I get it was several episodes together that made up the movie, but he genuinely sounds like a clickbait yt short for like the entire thing.
#rift yaps#great plot#terrible presentation#parkour civ#he does not need to sound like that genuinely. its actually lowkey annoying.#also the ego boost mf got was insane#“i turned down a million dollar offer bc i was working on an indie film”#stfu about “indie film” tf u yapping about#edit: yall realize how much glaze he gets right#muted: send me an ask if u wanna say smth substantial to me

Movie!Chat Noir being kind of obnoxious in his first scene (not as Adrien) is actually kind of great bc he’s basically just being a cat. He’s knocking things over all around Notre Dame with a sassy little smirk and thinks he’s all that- anyone who’s even met a cat knows what I’m talking about 🐈⬛

coming back and having to backscroll the dash to witness what set it on fire in the first place, always a delight (ofc it was Finn and his unchecked Byler is happening isms, what did i expect. every time him or Noah do a panel/interview somewhere i'm viscerally reminded of why they're not allowed to publicly be in the same room under any circumstance, the NDAs would seriously kill them)
#this is so funny one of them pulls some bizzaro phrasing around Byler happening out of their ass at ever con#i'm in awe how they play parkour with the NDAs sometimes#this time is especially crazy tho#assuming the writers strike and delayed film schedule is making all of them stir crazy too#byler

AMSTERDAM IS DEAD
"A Parkour Film aiming to revive this city’s lost street parkour scene. A production by fé amsterdam."
I came across this movie and it completely blew me away. It reminded me of old school skate videos Conor used to show me when we were stoners in high school.
Amsterdam is Dead has beautiful cinematography - the scenes are calm and artfully composed. They add a good touch of humour, matching the casual nature of parkour. They have very well coordinated sound design and soundtrack choices.
The "Magician" scene is especially creative and impactful; the movements match the sounds of the experimental jazz, and the outfits match the colors of objects in the city background, switching from one scene to another.
I love how the film expresses the whole culture around parkour - exploring the streets, having the courage to move in risky but creative ways, meeting random people (from homeless street dwellers to old ladies complimenting their somersaults), a fun approach, silliness, but most of all embracing the mentality of freedom of movement. Really inspirational.

the moment my jaw dropped:
an incomplete list of some Things that happened in the olympic opening ceremony
Both Lady Gaga and Celine Dion gave performances
Three teenagers got lost in the catacombs with the olympic flame and got saved by the phantom of the opera
a ménage à trois
20 different pink clad marie antoinettes holding their own chopped off heads watched a metal concert
Dionysius showed up to preach about sobriety??
a guy dressed as Napoleon did BMX tricks
the peace flag was carried by this horsewoman of the apocalypse
The phantom of the opera did parkour. a lot of parkour
3 seperate pianos were rained on
One was on fire
The on fire piano was involved in a very sincere rendition of John Lennon's Imagine
They never actually explained the phantom of the opera bit? I was really expecting him to look different
The minions stole the mona lisa
Are the minions french???
A french man in red white and blue played the accordion while wearing a beret
In conclusion: excellent entertainment, excellent showing off, good luck america trying to top this
