For all that Anne could not claim any romantic experience—not any mutually romantic experience, at least—she knew what was coming.

A lot of it was hope. Hope she shouldn't be harboring, at that. She knew where she stood; she could never hope to compete with the young woman Gilbert had accompanied to the fair. It just wasn't possible.

And yet, the way Gilbert was looking at her said very differently. He was moving in, seeming very sure but giving her time to back away. Maybe he wasn't so sure. Maybe he was trying to find out.

If there's one thing worse than never knowing, it's going to be knowing and losing him anyway.

Anne leaned back just a little, putting her hand up in a clear signal for Gilbert to stop. Gilbert raised both of his hands to take it, but Anne refused to let it drop.

"Anne..."

Oh God, she should never have let their friendship get as close as it had. She could hear the plea in his voice, and it was going to break her resolve if she didn't end this here and now. "Gilbert, I—"

Anne had had every intention of being firm, but words deserted her entirely for a moment as Gilbert leaned in and pressed an entirely too tender kiss to her palm. He lowered their hands, and Anne was too stunned to do anything but let him. She could feel tears gathering and her throat tightened.

"Anne," Gilbert said gently, "please, say something. I thought..."

Neither of them could actually get the words out. If they couldn't do that, then what hope was there, anyway? "I can't, Gilbert. I can't and you can't and if you don't understand that, then..." Then what? There truly was no hope? Maybe he wasn't who Anne thought he was? Or maybe Anne wasn't who she thought she was?

In any event, it was going to be easier to weather the heartbreak if she did it now, she thought, pulling her hand from Gilbert's before getting up and fleeing inside.

She'd keep telling herself that until she could forget how he held onto her hand until the last possible second.

Maybe then, she'd be able to believe it.

New drawing with my Lethal Shipping! Rin Matsuoka, from "Free! Iwatobi Swim Club", and Marina Shiozaki, my OC 🦈❤️🪼. They are celebrating their respective gold medals at the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics, she in the 100m breaststroke for Australia and he in the 100m freestyle for Japan 💖 (because in my universe Rin is the best swimmer in that style, not Haruka Nanase)

The Olympics ended a week ago but I consider that I'm still on time to upload a commemorative drawing (the same thing happened to me in Tokyo 2020, I didn't finish the drawing on time 😅). Since the last Olympics I wanted to draw these two with their gold medals, but I was hesitating between doing them or Kojio Hyuga and Maki Akamine, my favorite canon couple from "Captain Tsubasa", but in the end I opted for the latter two since the games were in Japan and both are Japanese, plus Maki won the gold medal in softball in CT manga and I wanted to celebrate it. So, I was left wanting to draw my couple from "Free!", but the Paris 2024 Olympics gave me the opportunity to do it 🥳

Their uniforms are the official ones of their respective delegations (Marina, although she is half Japanese, decided to compete for Australia since she was born there), but I didn't add the details because it would take me a lot more time to finish the drawing. In any case, I really liked the result, it had been a while since I drew this pair and I already missed them ❤️💛

I searched, and 3474.8 km was the diameter of the moon. 3474.8 divided by 434.02 is 8.006082669 Pretty much exactly 8 astounding.

What would make it exactly 8, a difference in location from the Apex of the Church of Nativity of only 330 meters: 434.35 (434.35 times by 8 equals 3474.8). Jesus is supposed to have been born near the site of the Church of the Nativity could it be 330 m from the apex of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem? I would argue it was."

Considering the audio quality of and similarities between these voiceovers and the clips of the the first interview, I think it is fairly safe to speculate that, despite what Daniel has been allowed to believe, the original interview continued after his and Louis' fight.
