Soundleasure | Choi San || CH. 22
Tumblr media
Pairings: Soft!San x fem!reader || Strangers to lovers, fake dating
Genre: smut, angst, fluff, online sex, ghosting
Warnings: inexperienced!San, fem!reader, masturbation, online sex, camboy, first times.
Summary: You can do whatever you please and be whoever you want on the Internet. And San knew that a little bit too well.
After finally following all the signs the universe was throwing at him, he started living a double life that no one was aware of. Everyone in his daily life knew him as Choi San, the reserved and quiet boy who wouldn't raise his voice, and would barely communicate with anyone outside of his comfort group. But only a few knew him as Soundleasure, the man with a sexy voice and a filthy mind that had their toes curling just with his narrations.
He never thought of the possibility of those two lives ever meeting, he had always tried for them to follow a parallel route and had always played safe to keep his friends from ever suspecting that side even existed. But his plans will start to crumble when he gets a little too close with one of his subscribers and she invades his real-self and altergo's universes without being able to stop it.
Y/n will not only help him to keep his secret from his circle, but will also show him there's more of Soundleasure in him than he'd like to admit.

San looked for any chance he could use to catch both Mingi or Wooyoung by themselves to have that conversation he didn't really want to have, but needed to. But every time he had the chance, either because one of them was out meeting up with friends, or working, San took a few steps back and ate those words before they were able to form in his throat.
First it was Mingi. He was all alone watching TV, with his feet resting on the coffee table -after he had told him several times not to place them there. The remote was resting against his lips while he held it from the bottom, concentrating on how pencils were made. Before speaking up, San tried to plan what he was going to say, and how he was going to say it so his friend would take it as a serious topic, and not as a joke.
—Can I speak to you about something?
—Sure —he answered, without moving his eyes from the TV—. If it's about the leftovers in the fridge, I can still eat it. So I'll eat it soon, just have patience.
—It's not about that —San assured him—. It's something else.
—Oh —his attention quickly shifted to San—, what is it, then?
How could he even form that question?
—Let's imagine you've never cooked in your life, right? And a friend comes and joins you in the kitchen —he tried to explain—. This friend is really good at cooking, so it adds a lot of pressure, right? A lot of pressure... —he continued— You don't want to make a mess, but you also don't want to sit and watch how the other cooks, because you want the other to enjoy food to the same level you will enjoy it.
Mingi's glare was blank for a whole minute, with his eyebrows shortly furrowing at the edges, before his mouth opened wide. At first, San thought that his friend got the memo of what he was trying to ask, but it only took him to speak to let him know he didn't catch a single hint.
—Is this about Wooyoung? Did he complain because I don't cook? —Mingi quickly reacted— I cooked three days ago. It was your turn, and today he had to cook. But we ordered something instead. So, technically, he's the one that should cook tomorrow. He always does the same thing.
Before San could even deny his assumptions, Mingi stood up from his place, placing the remote roughly on the coffee table to walk to his room and close the door behind him.
He sat there, staring at the white door that had just been closed in front of him, regretting the moment he decided to come up with that example. He should've gone straight to the point...
His head was thrown back, and his sigh was heavy when he had a headache looking for Wooyoung in his chats, just to notice a strange person called "Pocketful of Sunshine" right under Y/n's chat. He needed to stop doing that.
San: Where are you?
San: and for the record, stop changing your name on my phone
It took Wooyoung just two minutes to reply to his text with a kissy emoji; he loved using those whenever he had the chance.
Wooyoung: I'm at the cafe near my building
Wooyoung: You know that one with the disgusting coffee?
San flinched just at the reminisce of the taste. It was indeed disgusting, so he just couldn't understand why Wooyoung kept going there.
Wooyoung: There is a cute boy
Wooyoung: I'm three americanos away from getting his number
Wooyoung: What do you want?
San: Nothing, it's alright
Was his issue as urgent for him to show up where he was?
He had been able to wait for a few days, while he fought all his insecurities and tried to come up with the best way to introduce the issue. Only for it to fail as soon as he opened his mouth. It wasn't urgent, but he was sure he wanted to have it all sorted out next time he saw Y/n. The last few days they had been texting, with their flirting getting over the roof, and only stopping at the highest level because Y/n was still on her period. And they hadn't been able to meet up because she was busy with work, although they both still made up time to see each other if it was only for a few minutes.
One kiss, and he was completely served for the rest of the week. Yet, at the same time, her lips were so addictive that he couldn't stop coming up with excuses to meet her up with the badge she prepared for him. And Y/n also escaped a few times to his college just to have lunch or breakfast with him.
He wanted the next time they had a proper alone time, it was mind-blowing for her. Everything he couldn't do the last time.
He didn't know when it was going to be the last time he was going to be able to meet either Mingi or Wooyoung alone, without both of them being stuck with one another like they usually were. He just couldn't miss that chance.
He probably would have enough with fifteen minutes.
Wooyoung's workplace wasn't far from the apartment they all shared, which was one of the main reasons they chose that place. He was the first one to graduate and find a stable job, so he was the one who had bigger priority when choosing where to live.
When he crossed the corner to the establishment, able to peek through the glass, he could spot his friend smirking at, probably, the boy he was talking about in his texts. His smile was wide, and his hand waved in the air, making it clear he was there in case his friend hadn't been aware of him -which was difficult, his friend's style always made him stand out among the crowd.
—San? —Wooyoung asked with a smile— What are you doing here?
—I need to speak to you, and it'll be quick. I promise —he assured him, taking the free spot in front of him—. It's about Y/n.
—What did you do now?
—That's exactly the problem: what I don't do —San tried to start—. In my head, it all plays out perfectly, but once I have to take it to action, I turn clumsy, and stupid, and useless.
—Well, I think Y/n is accepting you with all your flaws. That girl is so into you, she doesn't care about how indecisive you are —Wooyoung shrugged—. It's like when you acted as if kissing her was something bad.
—Okay, but this problem is bigger. I mean... —his tongue clicked while he tried to think— I don't want to disappoint her. She's so perfect, and so amazing... I don't want her to be forced to go at my pace always. I want to be able to adapt to hers as well.
Wooyoung's face distorted with every word his friend said, trying to understand what he exactly meant by speeding up things in their relationship.
—San, isn't it a bit early? I doubt she's thinking about that.
—I know, but I'm sure she'll start thinking about it soon, to take the next step —he assured him—. And I want to know how to do things when it's time.
—Dude, it's impossible to know how to do things, it's even difficult to know when it's time. It's something you'll know only when you do it.
—I know, but I want to be ready when the time comes, you know? —he tried to explain— I want her to feel like she's with a man, and not with a boy she needs to guide by hand on everything he does.
—I understand —Wooyoung lied—. But marriage is one hell of a serious thing, and you have been dating not even for two months.
—Marriage? Wait.
—And I doubt Y/n is thinking about marriage —Wooyoung continued—. I know you're a romantic and such, but if you go to her with this, she'll run away. And I won't be able to defend you, because she'll be right.
—Wooyoung...
—I get you're in love, but isn't it a bit too early to think about that as something more than just a fantasy? San, dude, relax. It'll come...
—It's not about marriage, it's about sex, you dumbass —San interrupted him—. What, of everything I said, made you link it with marriage, huh? And it's not that I don't want to marry her, I don't know. I certainly don't see myself with anyone else that isn't her, but marriage isn't in my head at the moment.
—San —Wooyoung tried to interrupt him, when he saw the way his rant kept escalating.
—I have several problems, like not being able to satisfy her because I just don't know how to do it out of the theory —Wooyoung's expression changed, but San was so deep in the rant that he was unaware—. I haven't had a single experience in sex, not one. And she deserves me being at her level, but I don't know how to.
—Why don't you ask her?
Wooyoung's interruption made San's head tilt, while one of the corners of his lip lifted in confusion with the comment. His friend shyly point behind him, and that was when he knew he fucked it up big time.
Y/n had her eyebrows slightly raised, her lips were softly pressed, making obvious the smile she was holding back. When he looked back at the table, he could finally spot the second drink near the fall empty americano glass, which still had a bit of coffee in it.
—Why didn't you tell me she was here?
—I did —Wooyoung assured him.
When he lifted the phone, he could see the two messages in the middle of his explanation of why he was at that cafe.
Wooyoung: Also, I'm with Y/n!! We're working on the event she told me about.
His blood didn't abandon his system because it couldn't, but he could feel liters and liters of it falling to his feet when he realized it did show up on his phone, too. He was just too rushed to talk with him that he completely omitted the most important ones.
—I can explain this —San turned to Y/n.
—Well, I'm done. So I'll just leave you two alone —Wooyounng informed them, getting up from his seat while still looking at his phone—. By the way, do you know why Mingi is telling me to cook tomorrow?
San was about to speak, but his brain was too exhausted and concerned at the problem that was coming his way, rather than the little bickering he had caused. Instead of insisting, Wooyoung hugged Y/n, walking in the same direction San came in to leave.
—Let's go —Y/n whispered, securing the trap of her bag on her shoulder.
She paid for her coffee, and didn't say a single word until they got in her car. That silence was making him feel like he did something wrong, even if her hand reached to his forearm to give him a soft touch while she drove. Her car didn't even enter the street to his building, it didn't get close, which was the first thing that surprised him. He expected her to drop him off, after having a serious chat in her car. Instead, Y/n drove to her apartment, guiding him to a place where he knew how to go to already.
Far from being annoyed, she felt upset. Not because he reached his friends for advice, but because he didn't reach for her when it was something that involved her. At the same time, she understood his position and why he didn't feel like discussing it with her that way. He kept adding pressure on himself, a pressure that he didn't need to suffer. San didn't need to be so demanding with himself to impress her, because he already did every day.
—I'm sorry about earlier —he finally spoke.
—What are you sorry about? —she asked, resting her lower back on the backrest of her couch.
—About talking about that with Wooyoung.
—San, you don't need to apologize for that. He's your best friend, and it's obvious you'll go to him or any of the boys when you need advice —she tried to explain—. You weren't being disrespectful, you didn't have ill intentions with that. And I appreciate what you wanted to do, but I'm here to work with you on whatever you need —the folds of her shirt got deeper when her arms crossed over her chest.
His hands poked inside the pockets of his trousers, while hesitated to walk down the two steps to her living room and be closer to her.
—I just don't want you to think you have to be guiding me all the time.
—But if you don't know, who's supposed to guide you? I won't like you any less because you don't know when it's the time to hold my hand, or to touch me unprovoked. And even less because you don't know how to twirl your tongue or move your hips. You have much more to offer than just that —his eyes shined at that sentence—. What scares you so much?
—The other day, you didn't even think of the possibility of me returning you the favor, and I thought that maybe it was because you didn't want to waste time teaching me. I don't want to disappoint you.
—The other day I was on my period. Even if you had known how to do it, I wouldn't have liked you going down because I wouldn't be comfortable. I already explained to you how sex works, how it should work between us. And, honestly, I want to teach you. How many women can say they have a man willing to learn and follow all of their instructions to please them? —she chuckled, trying to break the tension between them.
San stepped in her direction when her arms were lifted up in the air, open and welcoming for him.
—I don't want you to go at my pace —she reminded his words the previous week—. With pressure... it isn't the way to do things, because you won't be comfortable. You won't disappoint me because you aren't ready, or because you don't do things right at first. But I need you to speak to me first —her fingerprints played with the edges of his black t-shirt—. Before you reach conclusions or stress out, let me try to calm you down.
It made no sense to get mad at him for his doubts and insecurities. She had been there, she had lived all those doubts and feelings with her first boyfriend. The only thing she could do to help him was add all her learned lessons, so he wouldn't be going through all those bad experiences. If she could avoid it, she wanted San to avoid the pain and negative feelings that went along with inexperience and a bad partner.
Her hands pulled him closer for a hug, hiding her head in his chest, while his arms wrapped around her body.
—Alright —he nodded, finally feeling how his heart went back to a normal speed in his chest—. I do want to do it though. I want to taste you on my tongue, feel the way your thighs tremble around my head, I want to pleasure you so good that you'd stick me against you so I can't move away...
His voice sounded deep against her ear, with a suggestive tone that almost made her knees go weak just by hearing it alone. She got so used to see him in his sweet and gentle persona that she entirely forgot he was Soundleasure, the same man that had her back arching and her core aching just with his voice.
The pumping of her heart was so hard after that that San was able to feel it trying to escape through his rib cage.
Y/n barely had to stand on her tiptoes to reach his lips, due to the heels she was already wearing, to trap his lower lip in between her teeth, pulling from it gently, careful not to hurt him. Before she could move back, desperation got the best of him, trapping her neck in his fingers to pull her back for a kiss.
Leadership took over him, because San knew that was the only part he could lead her in before he started looking like a lost puppy. His hands moved to her waist, pushing her closer and involuntarily forcing her arms up around his neck. While her tongue tried to follow the spirals he was creating, her hands moved down to his wrists. His fingerprints went from touching the thin fabric of her white blouse to the rough leather of her belt until he was tracing the curve to her ass. Her arms were once again wrapped around his neck when San dented his fingers on her skin over her linen pants.
With the intensity his head turned and how hard she sucked on his lips and his tongue, his fingers squeezed tighter her skin, pushing her closer -if that was even possible at that point- and forcing her to stand on her tiptoes to keep up with the kiss.
His lips left her hanging for another kiss, moving down her neck with no previous warning. His pecks were flirty, insecure, trying to test that new territory before he tried to mirror what he had seen in videos, and what Y/n had done to him before. The way his lips enclosed around a bit of skin, pinching it lightly with his teeth, made her breathe deeply, instantly moving her hands to place them on his shoulder and his nape. Just the feel of her fingertips playing with the hair on the back of his head created a friction in his brain that pushed him to suck harder on the skin down her jaw.
—Let's go to my room —she suggested, almost choking on air.
Y/n took the brief moment he tried to process her words to hold his hand, leading him upstairs to the upper part of her penthouse.
Anxiety started to build up as they took the last step that led to her room, lighted by the sunlight that was becoming weaker, with more golden tones, with each passing minute. Words got stuck in his throat when she turned to him with a smile.
—What should I do? I should undress you, right?
She was endeared by how shy he looked all of a sudden, giving him a soft peck on the lips to try to relax him.
—Why don't we do something else? You undress yourself, and I undress myself —she suggested—. At least until we're both on our underwear, hmm?
San nodded, just getting glimpses of how she looked completely naked. Although it was obvious the camera of her phone, or her laptop, did her no justice. With every portion of skin that was shown, every button being unbuttoned, every fabric waving on her skin to travel through her body to reach the floor, with every corner exposed to him, he was convinced she was even more perfect in real life.
It took her the last fabric to reach the floor to advance in his direction, cupping his cheek to kiss him slowly, trying to drink up every bit of insecurity so San wouldn't hesitate on trying anything he wanted with her.
His body moved with hers, advancing towards the bed even if he didn't see a thing, only leaving her body to extend his arm towards the mattress, while the other held her by the nape so she'd fall over it carefully.
The first groan found its way through his throat when he felt the warmth of her core against his growing bulge, at the same time her heels caressed the back of his thighs.
—Why don't you take off the rest? And don't hold back. I'll stop you if I don't like something.
It was his time to put his brain to work, getting back all the imagination he was tired of using for his videos, letting Soundleasure kick in and possess him when he needed it the most.
His lips created an invisible trail of kisses from her lips to her cleavage, instantly having her back arching up in response. He was gentle, soft, which created a huge contrast with the type of contact she'd had with other men. The delicacy made her skin burn with every rub, with every centimeter his breath coated.
Just like he did with her neck, his lips sucked on the curve of her breast, while his fingers struggled to find the clasp of her white bra. Her giggle resonated through his lips, while she moved under him to take it off.
The vision, her perky nipples pointing up, sent a straight message to his dick, feeling it twitch inside his boxers before he was encouraged to keep on moving with her kind gaze.
—What? —she smiled, siding her head to be able to look at him better.
—You're so beautiful —he assured, completely mesmerized by the shine in her eyes.
San didn't know what to do next, but he was sure he didn't want her to be bored of him. So, instead of just kissing her body, his flat tongue moved up from her belly button to the space in between her breasts, getting her body to squirm underneath him. But he stopped right where he was supposed to go on, moving his hands in the air, moving his head back and forth as he indecisively tried to get to the way to pleasure her.
Y/n didn't say a word. Her hand reached his, moving it up the curve of her waist until it reached her breast. She guided him to gently massage her breasts, feeling another throb at his dick when her hard nipple pushed against his palm.
Her legs attempted to close when his warm mouth closed around her hard nipple, feeling all the hairs in her body rise at the unconscious contact of his tongue against the button.
—Do that again —she asked—. Use your tongue while you suck it.
A moan burned her throat, coming out as a hum through her closed lips when his slippy tongue started twirling around her nipple while his mouth sucked on it.
She didn't need to tell him, she didn't need to guide him. Theory started working as it should, guiding him while she was slowly melting with his tongue. While his mouth trapped and teased the wet nipple, his thumb and index rubbed and gently pinched the other one, exchanging the buttons just like he had read the main characters of many spicy books doing. And he was glad he did, after her first moan worked as a necessary rub on his ego.
The thin coat of spit on her nipples made them shine under the sunlight, building up a feeling of possession he had never felt before.
Before she could even tell him to go lower on her, he moved. Still spreading kisses all over every bit of skin he came across, hooking his fingers on the elastic of her white panties to slip them down her legs, and almost going dizzy by the subtle smell of arousal coming from her core.
San tried to concentrate on anything else that wasn't how he could clearly see the juices leaking out of her and covering her folds, and how it was all because of him. And Y/n appeased him by placing a hand on his shoulder when his body was unconsciously moving forward.
—Don't go straight at it —she mentioned, supporting the weight of her body on her shoulder so she'd be able to cup his chin with two of her fingers—. Take a while to reach there, kiss my legs, the surroundings... and then, do your magic.
San smirked at her indications, doing exactly what he was told, and adding up eye contact. His eyes looked shy in contradiction of their fierce look, while his lips moved down her inner thigh. Her fingers lightly pulled from the sheets when his lips entered in contact with her labia, coating her crotch with his warm breath as he built her up for the moment.
—Now... —she tried to focus— take a taste. Move your tongue slowly, change it from flat to just using the tip, and don't be shy. And don't focus on the clit, we'll get there later.
Her head instantly threw back when San groaned against her core at the metallic flavor coming out of her, first moving his flat tongue over her slit. She had never felt as exposed as that day, when he parted her folds with two of his fingers, but she loved every bit of it. His licks were short and gentle, focusing on small areas, slowly diving into her entrance but moving up before he could even enter.
—You taste so good —he assured her, holding her knees up to place her thighs on his shoulder.
—Like you imagined?
—Better.
Her smile dropped when San did exactly what she wanted him to do, before she could say it out loud.
Two of his fingers parted her folds, exposing the hood of her clit, so he could push it with his tongue back and forwards. Those movements kept changing from being from side to side to spirals that went from the outside to the inside.
Despite pleasure blinding her, she could still see the way his hips kept humping against her mattress while he found the best way to move her tongue, guided by her gasps and sighs.
—Are you hard? —she struggled to ask with a shaky voice.
—Yeah, but that's not important now.
—Take off your boxers.
—Y/n, I'll deal with it on my own.
—And that's what you're going to do —his eyebrows digged deep in his nose—. Touch yourself while you eat me out.
She tried to control her mouth from salivating when his dick jumped free the moment he moved down his boxers, remembering how good it felt each vein against her tongue, but still respecting his choice of him being the one pleasuring her for the other day.
—Now suck on my clit, doing something similar to what you did on my nipples —she guided him.
She furrowed when he barely gave her time to finish the sentence, before his head was deeply buried in her core, with his lips enclosed around her swollen clit. She wasn't able to control her body after he got on it, moving her fingers through the locks of his hair to motivate him to go on.
And it worked, it felt like an energy boost for him, moving his tongue and his head as if his life depended on how tight her fingers pulled from his hair. Each moan she let out had his dick throbbing and twitching underneath his ecstatic fingers, finding himself thrusting against them unconsciously.
—Please, don't stop —she begged, throwing her head back—. You're doing so good. Please.
That sentence alone had his hand moving in sync with the speed of his tongue, losing the last bits of sanity he had left in his system.
He shouldn't have looked up, because there wasn't anything as sexy and breathtaking as Y/n's being perked up with her back arched up, while her lips were parted to control her shaky and unstable breathing.
All the times he had seen her in that state through a camera, and never it felt that good.
—Make me cum —she cried, thrusting her hips against his tongue to press tighter on his tongue—. Please, make me cum —she moaned again—. San.
The desperation that tinted each one of her words had him twitching and throbbing, losing the rhythm of the movements in his hand, and pausing the ones of his tongue when he couldn't control some of the low moans.
Y/n could feel the vibrations of his own release on his tongue, while he hardly tried to keep up the circles and infinite shapes so she couldn't see her journey to her high paused. And that dedication, that desperation to get her to orgasm while he was struggling with the consequences of his own high, were the little she needed to let herself go as well and ride with him through their respective highs.
Her body was tense for a quick second, only to relax right after, almost feeling like it was mixing with the blankets under her body.
San was satisfied while he looked at her, proud to be the owner of the thin coat of sweat on the valley of her breasts, or the subtle blush on her cheeks. It felt like the biggest privilege he had acquired in his twenty six years alive.
—How was it? —he dared to ask.
—If you're already like this —she took a moment to earn some oxygen back—, I'm afraid of what it'll be like with more experience.
His dimpled deepened in his cheeks when his smile turned wider, trying to hide it behind the thigh that still was on his shoulder.
—You were right, by the way —he added, moving his head again to look at her—: our moans sound really good together —it was topped by a gentle kiss on the knee.
San attempted to move up to hug her, but it was then when he noticed the result of his orgasm on the spot where he was. He froze on the spot, pretending to be hugging her thigh so she wouldn't feel suspicious of it.
—Are you going to stay there? —she giggled.
—It feels good —it wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the place he wanted to be at.
—We should clean ourselves.
—You go first —San tried to convince her to go first, so she wouldn't see the mess he made on her blankets.
—Alright —she finally gave in—, but next time you're coming with me.
She felt weirded out when he only moved his head up when she bent to kiss him, but still shrugged it off before walking to her bathroom.
San urgently jumped from the bed as soon as she closed the door, trying to look around for something he could clean the stain with. At least to make it less obvious and dirty.
No papers were on sight, no napkins either, and he obviously wasn't going to use her clothes to clean it up. He picked up his boxers from the floor and cleaned it all, although he only found himself cursing at how the stain kept spreading a bit more.
—I bought you a toothbrush in case you wanted to...
He panicked when he heard her voice so clear, throwing his underwear away, but failing at pointing where to throw them.
—Tell me you weren't doing what I think you were doing —she started, looking up to him.
—I made a bit of a mess when I came —he tried to explain—, and I don't know... I didn't want you to be disgusted.
—Considering we've fantasized about you cumming all over my face, it's a bit difficult to be disgusted over something natural like that —she walked towards him—. And did you seriously use your underwear to clean it up?
—Yeah... I clearly didn't think it through —his lips were pressed together, almost disappearing, while her hands found a place on his waist.
—I was planning on watching a movie, but making the bed and doing the laundry sound way more original —she joked—. Although I don't have boxers, do you think one of my panties will do the work?
—Do we have to get dressed though?
—Oh, look how fast you learn —she mumbled when his lips rubbed against hers—. But don't act like you won't get shy and try to cover yourself every five minutes.
—Yeah, you're right —he scoffed—. I won't wear any underwear. It'll be for a moment, so it won't be a big deal.
—Okay —she nodded—. Before you show off your housewife skills, let's go clean up.
San couldn't understand how he was still afraid of her judging him or running away, when she had shown to be understandable and patient with him. He could only guess that was the exact same reason that scared him: losing someone who had been exactly what he had been waiting for.

Idk if u have played stardew valley but if you have who would the ROs romance / want to romance?
This is such a fun ask, I had a blast researching and thinking about the question, so thank you!
So, I've not played stardew valley but I've heard so many things and I really have to sit down and play it one of these days!! From the premise alone, I REALLY, REALLY want to write an IF with a similar game mechanic, set in a sci-fi or fantasy universe, where you run your own tavern/restaurant/diner and get to go fishing/fix up your house etc. while romancing the townies.
Anyway, I read this article on Stardew valley love interests, and this is my best attempt! Additional theories super welcome because yall's guesses will probably be much more well-informed than mine!
Under the cut, cause it got LONG.
Sam: Sebastian
Tumblr media
Apparently Sebastian also has a friend named Sam whom he opens up to?? Also the trope of a slightly reserved/withdrawn person warming up to a sunshiny chaotic best friend who's always there for them (and making them laugh) is too good to resist. I do feel like Sam's the kind of person who likes meeting new people and making new friends, but ultimately, they always end up falling in love with the people whom they've known for a long time and have the deepest relationship with.
Tobin: Harvey or Emily
Tumblr media
Emily: I feel like Tobin would match really well with someone who's full of zest for life, and who can match their fun-loving, sweet side and add even more color & energy to it! Also I read that they DANCE and COOK and that's just absolutely up Tobin's alley. I can imagine Tobin coming back from a big tennis match and just... hanging out in the kitchen and dancing/listening to music with Emily. I said before that Tobin wants someone who can build a home and a hearth with them, and Emily honestly sounds like that person.
(Also that person Emily's talking to in the screenshot absolutely looks like they could be Tobin.)
Tumblr media
Harvey: I feel like they'd be so romantic and happy and cozy together, and as I said before, I think Tobin tends to want to take care of their loved ones and shower love everywhere but it's about time someone did the same for them! Also if anything I can see Tobin really gelling with someone a little older, because of their boomer lifestyle habits (waking up early/sleeping early, aversion to spending too much time online, and going to the library).
Rayyan: Maru
Tumblr media
The moment I read "quietly passionate" and "brilliant scientist", I knew this person was for Rayyan! They both understand what it means to pursue excellence and push the current limits of human achievement in their respective fields (and would absolutely support each other in these dreams. I'm imagining Maru cheering Rayyan on at a game and Rayyan helping Maru test out her inventions?)
Also family's a complex, yet important aspect of life for both of them (and there's definitely a parallel with Maru's dad trying to keep her from being her own person, Rayyan sort of feels like their dad doesn't quite approve of their desire to be a pro tennis player) , so they'd get each other on that front too.
Sidenote: "Come to my room if you want to tinker with my gadgets???" Umm....
G: Abigail
Tumblr media
Abigail: I think G would instantly be super attracted to Abigail's unorthodox, adventurous spirit, and if there's anything that's G's kryptonite? It's exploring random places (like graveyards/rooftops/mines) and doing new things. They'd probably bring Abigail on some really cool adventures too! And eventually, their relationship would deepen into something that goes beyond 'adventuring', into mutual respect and love, especially as they both start opening up to each other more.
(P.S. It just so happened that the top few love interests mentioned were female)

i extensively think about george having a swiftie gf and not only does he sit and listen to her explain the backstories behind each song and the parallels in lyrics but he surprises her with eras tour tickets and his ig story the entire night is just videos of his girl having the time of her life screaming the lyrics to lover to him <3
this is so cute, oh my-
in the weeks leading up to the show in london, she's preparing outfits for them.
she's scouring the internet for inspiration, saving ideas on a pinterest account that she made specifically for her eras show she was going to attend with george, looking on every single website she can find online when she had a spare moment to get an idea for more than 1 outfit. sending screenshots to george to see what his opinions were, what he was planning on wearing and whether she could alter his outfit so it seemed fitting to the theme of the eras tour.
and when the day comes, it's like a second christmas day for her.
she's up early in the morning so she could enjoy the whole day, she's blasting taylor swift songs around the flat which wakes up the rest of the boys which they couldn't be mad at, for too long, because she was having so much fun singing and dancing around the kitchen as she made breakfast and she was so excited for the show that night that they could dampen her spirits, speaking about nothing else but the night to come.
george has a whole day planned out for her, too.
they spend all morning getting ready together. she plays her music during her shower (which george shares with her because it's the one thing he enjoys doing knowing the boys can't really hear them over the sound of the water), she laughs when george sings along to some of the music because he had definitely been learning a few of her songs so he didn't seem out of place at wembley, and she even goes to town on decorating his face with glitter and some fancy patterns so he really looked the part. and once they're dressed in their almost matching outfits, lots of sequins glistening in the sunlight filtering through the windows and a cowboy hat for both of them on their heads, they get arthur to take photos of them before they disappear out the front door for the day.
they go out for an early dinner where they consume cocktails and she posts it online because she's really having the best day of her life with the one guy she truly loves. the one guy she wanted there with her. in her eyes, he had truly given her the best gift and she was thankful for the effort he had put in to make sure she had a great time. so by the time they're in wembley, they're a little buzzed and she's even more excited when she realises he's got floor tickets for her... which was more than she ever imagined.
and people recognise them, once they're seen inside of the venue, of course!
so lots of friendship bracelets are shared and exchanged with his fans and photos are taken; she even agrees to be a part of someone's tiktok video that george finds absolutely hilarious to witness. where yn wasn't someone well-known or on social media as often as he was, it felt ironic for him stand back and watch his girlfriend take his place on the app. and it made yn feel loved and included amongst those who love george for his content.
there's one photo posted between the two of them...
... and it's on george's instagram. a photo of yn with her back to the camera, arms in the air, as she's mid-dancing to one of her favourite songs playing on the setlist. a photo that george wanted to keep forever because she was in her element. and he felt pride to know she was truly enjoying herself.
"that was the best night of my life," she cries softly, cheeks absolutely sodden with tears of happiness once the show had finished, standing in the middle of the almost empty floor space with confetti littering the floor, her arms wrapping around his neck as she presses a kiss to his cheek, "thank you, george."
"you're welcome, rascal," he grins widely, wrapping his arms around her waist and hugging her close to his chest, her cheek resting on his clothed shoulder, "i'm glad you had the best night, babe."
"it was even better spending it with you," she admits and looks up at him, "seriously, i have no idea how i'm going to top a surprise for you."
"i'm not expecting anything in return, silly girl," he laughs and shakes his head, "just seeing you happy is enough for me, yeah?"
she nods and looks around as the fans around them start to make their way to the exits of the venue, "we should start heading home. as much as i'd love to stay here all night, i can feel my throat has been ripped to shreds."
"let's go," george unravels his arms from her waists and slips his fingers between hers, "plenty of tea for you over the next couple of days." xx

Yoongi’s childhood home is a one-floor house with a spacious kitchen and a nice lawn. His dad had built it for their mother as a way to keep her happy. It has a lot of the things she likes, like a big common space for everyone to gather around during meals, a vertical garden outside, and some planter boxes hanging by the windows. Half of the furniture is from the antique shop, which his dad had refurbished to fit the style of the place.
Yoongi was too young when they first moved in, but he remembers many things about it, like evenings watching talk shows and the news while they all ate and cleaned up as a family, mornings of his parents talking about different topics that got Yoongi interested in watching documentaries, and afternoons with his brother shooting hoops in their small backyard.
He also remembers the weekends you’d stayed over when he was injured, the first time you saw him break down, and the last time you walked out the door. There are memories of him ignoring his dad, arguing with his brother, and that evening when he took down the basketball ring and threw it in the trash.
He spent a whole year living here after the injury. Yoongi saw how his old man remained positive despite the pain over seeing his son struggle, how he worked hard to pay the medical bills, how he tried to make the house feel like the home he lost, even if Yoongi wasn’t sure that was possible, only because you were no longer in it, and there’s really no one to blame but him.
Things got relatively better though. After he fully recovered physically and got to save enough by helping the stores in the area digitize and selling some of his prized NBA jerseys, he moved out and rented a tiny studio apartment. He continued to help his dad at the shop, expanding its services for more income stream while also doing freelance work online. It was mentally tiring, but it helped his mind be preoccupied with things. Perhaps that’s what got him talking to his friends again; it’s what got him to go out and find other ways of moving on from all the pain that he chose to carry by himself.
It’s a Friday when Yoongi visits his old house with some groceries he bought. He got a huge payout in one of the projects he worked on and he’s been slowly paying off his dad by buying the essentials and medication, as his old man insists that there’s no debt to be paid; it’s his job to look out for his son, after all.
“Hey, dad,” Yoongi greets as he walks into the kitchen.
“Hey, son,” his dad replies, scooping them bowls of stew for dinner, a routine they’ve both developed after Yoongi moved out.
They proceed to eat, with him staring blankly down the hallway like he sometimes still does. It hasn’t been a good couple of weeks and he’s just been waiting for the next big project that would help him keep his mind off things again.
“So an old friend was in town this week and we went to this local bar,” his dad says. “It’s nice. They have live music every Thursday. A-reum was the one playing last night.”
At the mention of her name, Yoongi stills for a bit, only to hum in response.
“I asked her how she’s doing and why she hasn’t passed by the shop in a while. Imagine my surprise when she said that you two have broken up. Two months ago. And I was the clueless father who didn’t know that his son was going through another heartbreak,” his dad continues. “What happened, son? You both seemed happy. You looked happy.”
“Shit happens,” Yoongi shrugs, not keen to talk about how much of a jerk he really is. It’s enough that he knows exactly what caused him to fall out of his feelings for her; he doesn’t really want to share that with anyone else.
His dad looks at him with a hardened gaze. It isn’t that he didn’t know about the breakup; it’s more about his son’s reaction to it, how he’s looking indifferent to it as if it’s not possibly hurting him right now. It’s choosing again to go through all this by himself. Even more, it’s the fact that A-reum seemed good for him. Yoongi was smiling again, laughing again; it wasn’t the same as before but it was better than the closed-off, broken version of him.
“What happens?” The older man presses. “A fight that you didn’t want to fix? Remembering something from your old life and then shutting her out? Or was it because she wanted to chase her dreams and you let her leave you?”
If this was 2 years ago, Yoongi would’ve answered back. He would’ve argued that it wasn’t his old man’s place to accuse him like that, even if he has all the reasons to, given Yoongi’s track record. But instead, he just looks down, eyes sullen as he thinks of the night he told her that he no longer felt the same, and that it was better if they continued with their lives separately.
“That’s kind of out of line,” he replies, respectfully.
His dad sighs, suddenly feeling guilty about making assumptions, especially when he knows how hard his son struggled, and how he worked just as hard to be better.
“I’m sorry, son, I just—”
“It’s okay, dad. They’re not baseless accusations,” Yoongi interjects. They’re what happened with you, after all.
“I just… don’t want you to keep pushing away people who love you, who want to be there for you,” his old man says. “It’s an exhausting thing to do at such a young age. You’ve got so much life to live. You can’t be scared forever.”
“I know. It was my fault. There’s still a lot I still can’t let go of,” Yoongi explains, even if there are more reasons behind it. “But I don’t really want to talk about it. It’s hard, sure, but I can manage. You don’t have to worry. I promised I’d reach out if it gets too much.”
“Okay, then,” his dad concedes. It’s progress from before, if he’s being honest, and this is always better than having his son crying on his own and completely shutting everyone out. “How was your day then?”
Dinner continues without the tension from earlier. Both men even get a laugh in. Perhaps Yoongi’s just much better at compartmentalizing now, or maybe he’s picked up a few acting tips from you. But either way, it keeps his dad from asking more. Breaking up with his girlfriend because she reminds him so much of you isn’t exactly in the list of Yoongi’s proudest moments; he’d carry this thought in his grave if he has to.
His old man heads to the couch while Yoongi insists on cleaning up. He washes the dishes, throws out the trash, and organizes all the groceries he’s bought. By the time he joins his dad, he could already hear the snores from next to him. Yoongi lets him be, knowing it’s been a tiring week, and proceeds to watch the show that’s on TV.
It takes a while for him to register that it’s you on the talk show, along with your co-stars from a recently-concluded series where you starred in a supporting role. His dad watched the show religiously; he was probably waiting for this segment before he fell asleep.
The cast consists of mostly veteran actors and you’re the youngest of them all, and so most of the questions addressed to you are about your feelings acting alongside people you look up to and if you felt any fear going into this project.
“Any time I star on a show is terrifying, only because I’m afraid to fail,” you answer. “It means so much to me to be given this chance and I have to tell myself that I can’t waste this opportunity. I only will if I let the fear take over, and that’s like betraying all my hard work, you know? I have to remind myself that I’m meant to take up this space. My agency, my friends, my colleagues - they all helped me get here. Giving in to the fear feels like I’m letting them down, too, and they don’t deserve that.”
The host seems in awe with your answers, so do your co-stars who pat you on the back and remark that you’ve always been very mature, that you’re a hard worker as much as you’re talented, and that they didn’t feel like you were new to the industry with how bold you were.
You cover your face in amusement while they all look fondly at you. You have that smile on, the one where you’re a little embarrassed over being praised, but Yoongi can sense that you’re also a little emotional over hearing what your colleagues think of you.
It’s the first time he’s watching you get interviewed and he’s a little emotional as well, seeing you get flustered but look proud. He listened to you talk about all these things - what shows you want to act in, which actors you want to work with, the attitude you want to bring into every project. You once told him that you admired him for being brave for dreaming, but he never got to tell you the same. He thinks you’re much braver than he ever would be. You loved him fiercely and certainly, after all, and he’d been the scared one who couldn’t do the same.
He stands by his decision that letting you go meant he loved you too much to keep you suffering with him, but sometimes he can’t help but think that maybe he’d been greedy, that his love had been selfish, that his selflessness made him decide for the both of you, and that ultimately pulled you both apart. Seeing you in the same room with people you admire eases that thought a little bit, but it’s your words that hit him harder.
What’s hard work if he doesn’t get to reap the benefits? Perhaps it’s one reason why the injury hurts more than just physically; it’s hard to explain how something so devastating can rip one’s soul, especially when he’d spent years molding his life around basketball only for him to lose his space in its world.
It continues to pain him; he aches for the death of his dream. But it’s the people around him who suffered greatly because he’d given in to the fear of living life without the sport he’d loved greatly. You hurt the most because of it; his family and friends continue to see him without the light in his eyes anymore. He’d hate to think that everyone who’d supported him from when he was able, to when he was broken would think that they haven’t been enough. He’d only wanted to shield them all from how dark it was in his mind so only he gets to shoulder it; perhaps selflessness can actually be selfish, too.
His thoughts are disrupted when your name is called again. The host asks what advice you could give to young aspirants who are just starting or have yet to put one foot on the door of this industry.
“I’m just like them,” you chuckle, a little shy. “I’m still finding my way.”
“But you’ve at least done something,” the host says. “Hearing it from someone close to their age or someone they can relate with may resonate more with them than from the veterans who’ve been doing this for years.”
Your co-stars agree and encourage you to talk, so you take the mic and address the viewers.
“To the young ones in school training to become an actor, or doing this for fun, or exploring the possibility of doing this for a living, I’m telling you now, it’s not always gonna be easy nor glamorous,” you start. “It’s gonna hurt sometimes, you’ll face rejection; you might even feel like it may not be worth it. Remember that it’s all part of the ride. It’s pretty amazing most of the time, especially when you love and respect your craft. Just keep working hard and turn to the people who’ll dream your dream with you.”
Yoongi notices the way your smile fades a little, even more when you say the next words, as if they’re hurting you and giving you peace at the same time.
“But if it gets too much, remember that it’s okay to give up, too. That doesn’t make you weak nor a failure nor a coward,” you continue. “Giving something up decisively takes courage. And you worked hard. The people who love you will love you no matter what.”
A lone tear falls down Yoongi’s cheek. If he was being delusional, he’d think you meant to say the words to him. Maybe the guys still talk to you; perhaps they told you about how he’d stopped playing basketball altogether, how he doesn’t like watching or talking about it anymore, and how he’d given up any bit of dream related to it. And maybe that hurt you, too, and that’s why you’re saying this, perhaps hoping in some way, it will get to him.
He turns off the TV and walks to his room. It hits him when he looks around, the love he once displayed for the sport no longer there. The empty walls that used to be full of posters, the rusty shelf that used to house his trophies, the closet that was once filled with jerseys that he’d sold. He didn’t give it up decisively. He gave it up fearfully and helplessly, because as he looks at this place that’s devoid of what once was his dream, all he feels is pain and guilt.
He misses the sport terribly, and being without it has hurt him more than anything.
Yoongi gets the posters he’d kept under his bed. Some of them have tears in them, most are crumpled. But he meticulously tapes and flattens them before posting them on his walls again, feeling his room come alive once more. He retrieves all his trophies from the big trash bag in the corner, taking each one out and placing them on the shelves.
From inside his closet, he unfolds the 2 remaining jerseys he didn’t have the heart to sell - the MJ one that his mother left for him, and the Allen Iverson one that you got him for your anniversary. He hangs them inside, his fingers tracing the Sixers logo of the one from you, and he allows himself to remember how playing made him feel so happy and free. But more than anything, he lets himself remember the excitement he’d get whenever he watched the sport, whenever he’d talk about or analyze it, whenever he’d think about it, and then a smile graces his face.
Not playing professionally may be an unrealized dream now. He’s in his late 20s with only a college career to be proud of. He’s accepted some time ago that his knee won’t be the same anymore, but he doesn’t need that to enjoy the sport. He still loves it whether he shoots the ball or watches someone else do it.
As he looks around his room, he feels that bit of excitement once again, and all it took was an interview he didn’t intend to watch of the woman whose love he’ll always hold onto for him to realize that he doesn’t want to give all this up. It’ll always pull him back in. If he can’t let it go decisively, then he won’t do it at all, not when it’s what could get him back on his feet again, even if it’s what tore him apart in the first place.
He pulls out his phone and texts his brother.
[To: Geumjae] Are you free in the morning? Can you go to the park with me to shoot around?
[To: Geumjae] I miss it. I think I’m ready
[From: Geumjae] Of course. I’ll drive out and see you tomorrow.
[From: Geumjae] I’m happy for you. Love you.
Tumblr media
Being back in his university’s basketball court makes Yoongi feel nostalgic. He spent 4 amazing years making this place his home. He’d had most of his best moments here, like the 3 championships he won with his team. It feels a little weird to be in here all those years later, no longer in the maroon and white jersey that he used to sport but in business casual clothes, as the team’s coach officially welcomes him to the team.
Right after he snapped out of a 3-year long pity party, he played for the first time with his brother. He definitely missed the feel of the ball in his hand and the sound of the net swooshing when he shoots. He still got it, his brother had said, and it felt good to hear it. He wouldn’t deny that he can still shoot pretty well, but he was also practical enough to know that he couldn’t sustain it. His knee still feels stiff at times - a normal occurrence as the doctor had told him - and he’d get tired more easily, but the joy came back. The fear didn’t.
After that, Yoongi went back to watching basketball again, from the NBA to the national and university leagues. He discovered the online space for sports analyses, and he got sucked into its world. He’d comment on articles constantly and make his own, and he’s glad he did because it’s what ultimately landed him this job. One of his former coaches saw what he’d been saying and was impressed; Yoongi’s basketball IQ and unique way of looking at the game haven’t changed, the older man said.
That was 5 months ago and so much has changed since then but he’s proud of how he got back on his feet. There’s a different type of drive now, as he watches the team scrimmage as part of their training. Seeing their passion and hunger for success is inspiring, and the thought of bringing home another crown for the school with them excites him. It’s a new aspiration, and he’ll work hard to make them experience what he experienced as a young player with all his hopes and his dreams. Maybe they could achieve what he couldn’t because if it wasn’t him, then it could at least be someone he helped mold.
One other change has been you, insofar as Yoongi finally watching your concluded series for the first time. His dad insisted, saying he’d watch again with his son since it’s a really good show, and not just because he adores you greatly. But Yoongi wanted his peace and chose to watch it on his own.
He felt proud seeing you on screen. You’re made for it. Your charm and energy shine through and you express emotions so genuinely. He’d ignored his brother’s teasing that he might fall for you again, with Yoongi not wanting to acknowledge the possible truth to that.
But you’re an actual celebrity now and he’s just him. He doesn’t know how your love life has been other than the rumors of you dating some actor or model, which your agency always denied. You’d said once that most of those are just PR stunts anyway and shouldn’t be believed, so Yoongi didn’t bother spending so much time thinking if you were with someone. If any, he just hoped it’s someone who trusts and respects you, and he’d be content with knowing that you’re happy, even if in the deepest cracks of his heart, he wished it was still him.
You haven’t really left his mind, if he’s being honest. His relationship with A-reum was proof of that, so is the fact that it was your interview that got him out of his self-destructive hole to restart.
But it’s tonight out of all nights, when he pulls out the lone decent-looking jacket he has that he plans to wear to the meeting with the university faculty and sports director - which also happens to be something you got him years ago - that he thinks that maybe there’s a reason why he can’t completely move on from you. He tried and he honestly continues to, but it’s not easy when much of the happiness he remembers has you in it. You show up in his dreams sometimes, too, as if the universe is reminding him that he’s okay now, that he’s at least close to the man he once was and not just a shell of it anymore, and that maybe, you’d want to grab some coffee and see where things go.
It’s what prompts him to look up the details for your upcoming movie premiere so he could go. You worked on it the same time you were filming your series, and even if your name is one of the smallest ones on the poster as a supporting character, he already knows this is incredibly important to you. It’s your first movie, it seems, and he wants to be there to wish you luck and let you know he’s proud of you, and that if this is where your shared heartbreak led you, then he knows there’s no way he’d regret letting you go those years ago.
Tumblr media
The woman staring back at you is someone you almost don’t recognize. Other than the glamorous champagne-colored dress that you’re wearing, there’s a smile that you haven’t seen in a long while, too. In over 3 years, to be exact. A heartbreak does that, you suppose. Your biggest supporting role in a series that wrapped up a few months ago felt too surreal for you, and you’d gone through the promotions for that feeling anxious; you barely had time nor energy to appreciate yourself nor the experience.
You do now. After the praises for your performance then and the ones from your colleagues for this, you feel that you at least deserve to smile, that you can truly claim for yourself that you’re on the way to big things, even if you know you’re far from it. You’re the most junior out of the entire cast, after all, and you’re more like a supporting role to the supporting role. You’re in the credits, at least, and you got to act alongside some of the people you look up to once more.
It’s premiere night and that calls for a big event. Jimin, your newly-hired personal assistant slash stylist, knocks on your door to say that the car is ready. You exit your room and drive from your humble apartment to the venue, feeling giddy and nervous.
“Looks like there are lots of fans tonight,” Jimin says from the passenger seat, getting news from his phone. “There’s a long line inside and outside. I heard it’s a packed cinema, too.”
“Well, it’s Song Hye-kyo. What do you expect?” You giggle. “When she’s your lead, there’s bound to be a score of fans. But that’s good for me, right? They’re there for her. I’ll just be fading into the background and no one will even notice.”
“Why would you want that?” Jimin looks at you curiously.
“You know why.”
Your unsure smile informs him of the reason and he understands. It’s gonna be tricky but you decided to not hide anymore starting tonight. You want that freedom, and you want it soon.
“But also, I’m still not used to it,” you continue. “It’s my first movie and I’m just a small part of it but it’s all still new to me. I don’t want people’s attention if it’s me looking overwhelmed, you know?”
“You’re gonna be fine, ___,” Jimin assures you. “You at least still look pretty when you look like that.”
“Hmm, that’s oddly encouraging,” you chuckle, seeing the scores of fans in the lobby before your driver heads straight to the VIP parking.
Jimin opens the door for you and leads you through the entrance. “Blow them away with your beauty, okay? I’ll see you shortly.”
You’re led towards a waiting room for the lesser-known actors, which you don’t mind. The big-name ones have their own and you’ll probably only speak with them during the afterparty later.  Right now, you’re talking with your co-stars while getting a retouch of your makeup, and it helps ease your worries a bit. All you need to do is walk out to the red carpet with them and hope that the people at least cheer for you. You can worry about how you fared in the movie later on.
It’s an hour later when it starts. You walk towards the doors that exit to where the hosts and crowd are, already hearing their cheers as you wait. There’s 6 of you and cheers erupt when your names are called. You all walk out and wave at them, definitely overwhelmed by the camera flashes and shrieks of the people but you remain calm and professional, smiling the entire time and  greeting them calmly. It’s more than you expected and you’re just happy to be experiencing this for the first time. It’s a moment you definitely won’t forget, and you’re glad you can at least share this with someone right after.
Your group is briefly interviewed before you’re led out to the other side to go back to the waiting room; you’ll all go to the cinema in an hour after all the actors have been introduced and interviewed. You take a detour, though, knowing you can’t really wait any longer. All the fans are inside the hall, waiting for the big stars to come out so the hallway leading to one of the building exits is empty. It’s accessible to the public but you already know that no person in their right mind would be here, so it’s the perfect spot.
You enter and wait only a few minutes before you hear your name being called. Turning around, you see him, and you feel even more excited.
“You looked gorgeous out there,” Min-kyu greets as he hugs you right away.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you giggle in his ears. “Thank you. Did I stutter?”
“Nope, you sounded great, too,” he chuckles, taking your hand. “I’m really proud of you. I’m happy I get to be here, and that we could decide on this together. I can’t have people linking you with someone else again when I’m right here.”
“You mean when I’m right here,” you tease, seeing as he’s the one always being rumored to be with some model. You place his hands on your waist as you continue. “It won’t be so hard anymore after tonight.”
“Okay. Well then, I don’t want to keep you,” he responds. “Someone might see us. But I’ll sneak in next to you in the cinema, alright?”
“Got it,” you smile giddily. “I’ll see you in a bit.”
You kiss him goodbye and assure him that you’ll see him shortly.
It’s the sound of a door closing that alarms you, breaking you out of your little bubble with the man you’ve been cozying up with for the past 7 months. It’s perhaps your longest relationship, if you could even categorize the previous ones as such. Andrew was a 3-month long fling, Ki-yong was a half-year on-off whatever, and Min-kyu has been the only one so far that you haven’t had any issues with. You’re unsure for how long it’s gonna last, but one reason why you don’t want to keep hiding anymore is because he gets linked to any woman he so much as says hi to. If whoever walked in your little PDA just now decides to do something about it before you do, then the timing wouldn’t be too far apart.
“Do you think someone saw us just now?” You ask.
“If anyone did, we’re too far for them to take any photos,” he reasons. “If they saw anything, there wouldn’t be any proof. But that won’t matter much after tonight, yeah?”
“I guess so,” you smile. “But they’re gone, so let’s go.”
You head out separately after fixing yourself, the giddy feeling from his kiss evaporating once you’re back in your world, knowing you’ll reunite with him again later. It’s a good distraction more than anything, as your mind wanders for a millisecond how it would be like if someone else were here with you, celebrating your first movie together. But that’s not your life anymore. This is. You’d like to think it’s a hundred times better than the one you left behind.
Tumblr media
Yoongi stares at the door he’d just walked out of after seeing you in another man’s arms, something he didn’t intend to witness.
He’d seen you walk down the red carpet then proceed to the left, and he’d been too far out to catch up to you. It’s a Song Hye-kyo movie so he knows that everyone’s gonna be waiting for her, and it’s probably why the path towards one of the hallways is empty. He doesn’t know what he was thinking following you, and looking back now, he’s unsure why he thought coming to your movie premiere without you knowing was even a good idea. But after feeling stupidly hopeful that something could come out of him showing up after letting you go, he decided to come, to drive from Daegu, dress up nicely, and be swift enough to go after you before security takes him away.
He does see you. With your arms around a man who makes you laugh and clearly makes you happy. He looks like that actor who’s being rumored with a bunch of different women, but it seems like he’s locked on you. Yoongi could only hope he isn’t cheating on you or anything; that would be worse than what he’s feeling right now, and he’s feeling pretty terrible. And stupid.
Even more as he looks at the bouquet of daisies he’s holding, something that he planned to give to you to celebrate your first movie premiere. It’s probably the plainest flower out there and there are definitely more that would suit you, like dahlias and marigolds and roses - all breathtakingly beautiful and deserving of being at the center of everything just like you are.
But he’d noticed those years ago how your eyes always turned to daisies whenever you entered a flower shop. Anyone would miss it, but Yoongi’s attention is on you a lot of the time, and he’s seen your gaze linger on it, especially as they’re placed as supporting decor to a grand arrangement. He thinks it’s perhaps your way of wishing for a simple life behind all this glamor, and that somewhere in your heart, you desire someone who could give you something just as simple, perhaps someone like him.
It’s why he decided to pass by the fanciest flower shop he could find earlier and get this, so he could tell you that you could achieve whatever it is you dream of, no matter how big or small, how grand or simple. And that no matter how high you go, he’ll always be rooting for you in every way he can.
It doesn’t seem right to still be giving this to you, he thinks, but then again, it’s not like he expected to get back together just because he decided to show up unannounced on what is a big day for you. He won’t deny that he didn’t think about it, though, but he really just wanted to catch up, maybe tell you that you helped him get back on his feet. And that he’s incredibly proud of you, and that he believes you’ll just get better and bigger from here.
But as the scene of you looking happy with another man who could probably give you much more than he ever could replays in his mind, Yoongi is reminded that it’s not his place anymore, that he does not have a place in your life anymore. He made that call when he broke things off, and he doesn’t have the right to ask you for anything else after that. Even if it’s just your time.
So he walks out of the hall and into his car where he stays for a good half hour, trying to figure out what to do. He eventually decides to still give it, without the burden on you knowing it’s from him.
And that’s what he does, as he waits at your agency building lobby the next morning for the reception to clear the flowers. He’d spent the night at a hostel and was close to just throwing it and forgetting this whole thing even happened, but he braved through it until he’s unable to back out now.
“No card?” The man asks.
Yoongi looks at the piece of cardboard that he took out right before he gave the bouquet.
I’m so proud of you, ___. So much time has passed and I’m doing better. I can see that you are, too. I was in the city and thought, for old time’s sake - would you like to grab some coffee?
He slips it in his pocket and answers, “no card. But could you write ___’s name on the envelope?”
The man hums in agreement. “And who do I say this is from?”
“I’d like to remain anonymous.”
The man looks at him warily before he nods and writes your name as the only indicator that it’s for you. No other message and no trace of the sender.
“Okay, all good.”
“Thank you,” Yoongi says, walking out the building to head to his car and drive back to Daegu.
He decides to eat at a nearby convenience store, and that’s when he sees the news that confirms everything he saw last night.
Rumors no more: Actors Kim Min-kyu and ___/___ confirm 7-month relationship.
Yoongi reads the headlines over and over again, the scene from last night haunting him once more. He doesn’t know why he thought that still giving you the flowers, even anonymously, was a good idea, even more now that you’ve been dating this man for longer than he imagined.
You’ve been that happy for 7 months now. It doesn’t seem right to still insert himself like that.
He rushes towards the agency again to try to retrieve the bouquet and take it all back. He’s at the end of the street, a sprint away from the building but then he stops at the sight of you exiting. With the flowers in your arms.
There’s that crinkled smile of yours that he’s missed so much. You’re looking at the daisies with such softness, like you’re truly appreciating it, and Yoongi’s heart melts at the sight. You may not know it’s from him and perhaps that’s the best part, but it’s the thought that you seem to really like it, especially when a blond-haired man stands next to you and hands you a bouquet of roses, which you smell and smile at before returning it to him. You cradle the daisies, shrugging when you try to retrieve a card that isn’t there, and Yoongi’s relieved that of all the stupid things he’s done the past 12 hours, leaving the card out was the smartest thing he did.
A car arrives and you enter, leaving Yoongi still at the end of the street to watch you drive away, perhaps out of his life for good, at least until your next premiere where he’ll probably give you the flowers again.
He hopes that with them, you get to feel the care he has for you that never withered, that on your lowest days, you think of the admirer who believes that your love for daisies is something that matters.
Your car disappears from his sight. He resigns to this next new life without you - the one where you’re happy where you are and he’s trying to be. He’ll admire you from afar until he gets to move on from you completely.

"trust issues"
I'm sorry but this is the Louise gets her period fic that nobody asked for. i'm not sure if there's an episode about this since i'm only on S06, but this is how i imagine it'd go. tw for blood and woman problems lmao.
“It’s not a boy-girl sleepover, because we’re just playing video games.”
While getting dropped off, Louise had tried to explain to Tina that Rudy’s mom’s house had an X-box, to no avail.
She was awake, at nine o’ clock at night!, absolutely living her best life, and beating Rudy and his online friends at Elden Ring.
She took a quick pee break and that was when she found the blood, all over and ruining everything.
She knows what this is, but Louise is only 10, and Tina didn’t get hers till 12—so Louise was sure that she had at least another 2 years. But there’s no question, this was it. Faintly, she hears the TV chiming outside. Rudy must have been playing a quick solo round.
She heard his mom ask, “Where’s Louise?”
Panickedly, Louise knows nothing better than to start stuffing napkins and wads of toilet paper into the saddle of her underpants. She is horrified to find that her pajama pants are soiled, too.
There is no sign of Rudy’s mom once she puts herself back together and pokes her head out of a crack in the bathroom door. Gingerly, Louise ventured to the kitchen, and found her there.
“Oh, hello, Louise,” Rudy’s mother said upon seeing her. “Is…everything okay?”
“I—need your help with something,” says Louise.
This unfortunately, would be Rudy’s mom’s first impression of Louise. “Okay…” she says—not really with concern, but as if to say, everyone’s told me that you’re trouble, so just let me know what it is we’re dealing with this time… “Why are you walking backwards?”
“Is this a lot?” Louise shows her the garbage can.
“Oh, honey. Do you have a second pair of pants?”
“Only my jeans,” she answered, mortified. “Is this more than a normal—”
“That depends, but…no, I don’t think so. Let me give your mom a ring,” Rudy’s mom said, closing the door on her.
“No!”
“Well honey, you need new clothes, and a change of underwear, and I don’t see how else—”
“—But you won’t tell her that—”
“Rudy!! Use the other bathroom!” his mother bellowed. Louise had barely registered the soft, timid knocks.
“It’s just—my Advair is in there, and it’s past 9PM…”
Hastily, Rudy’s mom grabbed the inhaler off the back of the toilet and crammed it through the crack in the door. Louise couldn’t remember another moment before in which she wanted to die on the spot.
“Is Louise okay?” Rudy asked tentatively.
“She’s fine. Just—take your medicine,” she said stonily.
“I want to go home,” Louise started.
“That can be arranged,” Rudy’s mom replied with a sigh.
Rudy’s mom leaves her unguarded to make that horrible phone call to the Belcher’s house. Well, her night is over. Immediately, she returns to the toilet. The napkins are already soiled! She unwrapped one of the pads Rudy’s mom left. Now alone, she silently started to cry.
“Hey Louise. Congrats on becoming a woman.”
Tina handed her the change of clothes through the door. “Will you keep your voice down?” hushed Louise. “Rudy doesn’t know what’s happening.”
“Oh. Well, I was gonna bring you your Boo Crew pants, because they’re black, but I didn’t wanna embarrass you so I landed on these Sanrio ones instead,” Tina said with only her chin through the door.
“Trust me, T. I could not be more embarrassed than I am right now. But, Sanrio was a good call,” she acknowledged.
“Phew,” said Tina.
When she finally left the bathroom, after what must have been 20 minutes, thankfully Tina and Linda were making good of packing Louise’s sleeping bag into the car. At least they were both trying their best to make this as painless as possible.
“I’m sorry you have to leave early, Louise,” said Rudy from behind.
They stood on the porch as Linda tried and struggled to get out of a parallel parking space on Rudy’s street. “I’m sorry too,” Louise replied. “But these Belcher bowels are just so unpredictable. You should have seen the poops that just came out of me, Rudy. They were violent. Fiery poops—just—liquid, and when it gets this bad, you can even get bloody diarrhea.” Rudy’s eyes were as wide as saucers. Louise shook her head. “That anti-inflammatory chicken salad that your mom made? I think it was almost too clean for my greasy intestines to handle. They’re not used to it, I guess.”
“That…sounds painful,” said Rudy.
“So very,” answered Louise. “Well, now you know about our family curse. Tina won’t admit it to anyone—but, she gets them too,” she whispered.
Rudy said, “Louise?”
“Yes, Rudy?”
“I have a step-sister who’s like, 25 on my dad’s side,” he spoke hesitantly. “So…I know what periods are.”
Louise froze. “You think this is funny?” Louise stormed at him. “I swear to God, if you mention this to anyone at school, I will rip your regular-sized head off, I mean it!”
“No! Why would I tell anyone about what happened?” exclaimed Rudy. “What I mean is…we’re buds, right? We tell each other stuff. And, I’m sure other kids in our class have it too, Chloe gets them—”
“I don’t trust a word out of Chloe’s mouth. She lies about everything, down to the brand of shampoo that she uses,” said Louise begrudgingly.
“True,” replied Rudy. “But, it’s nothing to be ashamed of, when you think about it…”
“Ugh, Rudy, please stop talking,” moaned Louise, face growing red as she grasped at her ears.
“No! What I meant to say was, we’re friends, and I know you’re embarrassed, but you don’t have to pretend in front of me. It was nice, hanging out with you outside of school—”
While talking, Rudy took a breath, and started to wheeze and cough. He dug his rescue inhaler out of his pajama pants pocket.
“Oh, buddy. You should probably step back inside. See you at school, Rudy.”
“Bye. Feel better, Louise.”
“Louise!” called Linda from the car. “Come on, we don’t wanna be late for your father, who’s been having that problem he’s been having.”
“Good luck with your flaming poops,” said Rudy somewhat breathlessly, and then winked. My God, that kid was bad at winking, Louise thought to herself as she descended his porch. His face just screws up, and it’s hard not to laugh at him.
“Louise!” hollered Linda.
“Rudy, are you alright? The Advair hasn’t had time to kick in yet I suppose…” Rudy gave a small wave before his mom ushered him back inside.
“We were so sneaky, regular-sized Rudy couldn’t have suspected a thing. I think this is where I can safely say, ‘mission accomplished,’” said Tina, pleased with herself.
“Yup. Good job, Tina,” answered Louise.

Nom nom nom, it’s been a while since I’ve been online could do with some lovely angsty snacks …. :)
Was looking back through some old manga’s and made a wonderful connection between Renji Yomo fron Tokyo Ghoul, and none other than resident dad, Angeal.
Lots of angsty parallels and now I crave emotional pain - wanna hit us with your worst Angeal angst?
Angeal loved his parents. More than anything, anyone. He adored them and trusted them completely.
His father (not really his biological father) was a sickly and mostly ineffectual man, but Angeal admired him more than anyone else in the world because of his kindness and sacrificing nature. Losing him just before his enlistment ravaged him, and it's part of the reason why he's so protective of others--to honor his father's memory by caring for those who need it, putting his life on the line to do what is honorable.
His mother Gillian was his closest confidant, supporter, and resource. He fondly remembers spending time with her in the kitchen, collecting flowers in Banora's winding groves to bring back to her. He especially loved running local errands just to scrounge together enough money to bring something nice home for his mother, just to see her smile.
Yes, they were poor. But there was love. And warmth. And the sense of being wanted and cherished. Angeal would have died for his family, would have done everything in his power to protect them. They never left his heart even in Midgar. He was different from his friends--there was Genesis who had a decidedly caustic relationship with his parents, and Sephiroth with no parents at all. You would think he was the lucky one...right?
Maybe Angeal had it off the very worst. Because when you have someone you love who loves you just as strongly, to suddenly find out that they spent your entire life lying to you is only that much more devastating. Finding out what Gillian did to him, what his father was possibly complicit in, shakes Angeal to his core. The family he treasured, the place he felt safest in, held, was never really a safe place at all. And now he's caught up in the stained legacy of Project G, a misshapen experiment created out of callous arrogance. And his mother was in on it. She was in on it from the very beginning.
Angeal sees what happens to her. When the shock of it sounds against the walls, he can't really move, can't really speak. Not even when the body lays before him. He can only watch, helpless, too agonized and broken to act. His mother. His home, family. His victimizer. Gone.
He never speaks of Gillian ever again.

For the meta for writers questions, 1, 3, 8, and 20!
Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
Ah, the Ace Longfic! Which still doesn't have a title to itself. It is supposed to be like ten chapters but will probably be more than that, and I'm in chapter four! I'm trying not to talk about it too much online because then I won't want to write the actual thing, but without spoilers, it's a series of solo adventures for Ace that explore her parallels with/similarity to the Doctor. I'm trying to actually write full adventures and I'm having fun coming up with interesting characters for her to meet. Plot less so, but we'll get there.
Since she is on her own and filling the Doctor's shoes, I've found she works less and less well as a POV character. So I'm writing from the perspectives of people she meets along the way, which also allows me to show how she's growing and changing and getting weirder (as she should). My current POV character is a wet-behind-the-ears military officer posted to an isolated space station where secret scientific experiments are being done. I'm sure you can guess whether the scientific experiments go wrong or not. My young officer has to step up and make complex moral judgment calls (which she does not want to do but discovers she will if she has to) when both her superiors get their brains taken over.
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
Hahaha I always do just write it anyway! That's why I have so many ficlets. The things I dream about and don't write are the big sprawling daydream AUs that won't distil into one scene.
Oh fine OK I do have one key scene but the reason I haven't written it is because no one will have any idea what it's all about. Remember you asked for this! This is from the viewpoint of an agent of the Gallifreyan CIA who's been spying on the Seventh Doctor during the events of the novel Set Piece.
--
It's a shame to see a good agent--never reliable, but brilliant at his best--end up in such a state. A shame, but not surprising. He's not the first agent to end his career like this and he won't be the last, especially being a renegade as he is. They know from his file that nine centuries' hard living has put him in his seventh body already. Most of his career he's believed he was defying the Agency. Some of it he actually was. They've retrofitted quite a bit of their timeline planning around his entirely unauthorized interventions--and it's always turned out better than you'd hope. Now he's stranded, sponging off an old friend, health broken, nerves shot all to pieces. He's lost that TARDIS of his--gossip says they'd grown hopelessly into each other--if she's dead he'll have a horrendous psychic wound. Perhaps that's even the root of what ails him; perhaps that's the reason he's drinking French wine laced with opium at ten o'clock in the morning local time. Not much else he can hope to do for it, not without a Gallifreyan medic. And he won't come home, they know that too. He'll wither away there, jumping at shadows, country servant-girls pitying him, before he'll come home and be properly looked after. Some of the agents think he can't anymore; after so long away, they say, he can't take his place in Gallifrey's telepathic web. The closest he can get, now, is the buzz and chatter of human voices around him. They note how he haunts the kitchens. He's made a wreck of his lives and fortunes, probably his ship as well. He's reduced to drifting about in the local skirmish called the Franco-Prussian War--a purely human conflict, not even a branch of the War, which would be something--and he isn't even doing anything there. He's serving as a dreadful warning to young agents: the renegade life may seem exciting but this is how it ends. There's some suggestion they should inform Cardinal Braxiatel. If you want to speak to him, you should do it soon. Before nineteenth-century drugs and living on his nerves and the loss of his ship and the unknown wound in his shoulder he keeps rubbing take their toll. Even the humans say he isn't quite all there. And wherever else it is he's going, it's somewhere the CIA can't reach.
--
It's a weird book, Set Piece. Don't worry, Seven has a very complicated plan going behind all this. But he does have something of a breakdown. It ends up being quite cathartic for him actually. (He's drinking the drugged wine because someone else is drugging it and he doesn't want them to know that he knows. He claims.)
8. Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?
I like to read the sort of thing I write, certainly! (Although there's some things I've written that I'm pretty sure if someone else had written them I'd find hopelessly saccharine.) But there's also things I like to read that I could never write. Novel-length fics, for sure, I really appreciate but don't write; I also love a good pastiche of a book series with a strong authorial voice, but avoid doing them myself, after a really harrowing experience doing cod-Pratchett. (Although I had a really fun time doing that Stevenson-in-space bit. Maybe I just need the amount of distance provided by an AU to enjoy doing author pastiches? I should try space!Aubrey-Maturin sometime and see if that'll do it.)
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
These questions assume I don't shove all that in the notes already! :P
Oh yeah, I did do a bit of research for that Hornblower fic that I forgot to put in the notes! I wondered whether the superstition that it's bad luck to toast in water was old enough for the characters to think of it. The few minutes of research I did were pretty inconclusive, actually--one source did say it originated in the Royal Navy but didn't say when, which was not very useful to me, but I decided it at least sounds old enough that I could project it back to the 1800s. Apparently the superstition is specifically that someone who drinks a toast in water will die by drowning, which... well, both of them avoid that at least....

I got lots of extra sleep this morning and woke up feeling human. Which is nice.
But I was thinking about how I never get enough rest. I’ve learned that I need 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep to feel Good in the morning, and of course I never get it.
My routine goes like this:
8pm:  get ready for bed
8:30-8:45:  when I tend to actually get in bed
between 9 and 10pm:  That Guy comes to bed and makes sure to wake me up by flumphing on the bed to plug in his phone, getting up again, turning on lights, slamming around in the bathroom etc. then he grabs me to warm up his hands but I have to move around a lot and get comfortable again so I can sleep, so that means about an hour or two of readjusting to find the Not Painful Sleep Position before I can finally drift off, and if he’s decided it’s sexy time then I also have to get up and clean myself off so
between 11 and 2am:  actually fall asleep, hopefully
4am:  That Guy’s alarm goes off, and mine does, too, because if I don’t set my alarm, sometimes he doesn’t set his and then I have to deal with the I’M LATE tantrum first thing in the morning. He hops in the shower and I lay there anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes waiting for my heart to stop pounding around in my chest from being startled by the alarm
4:20-ish am:  I get up, get dressed, and go downstairs to make my coffee, sit at the dining room table, and wait
4:45-ish am:  That Guy stomps down the stairs and into the kitchen where he makes the most noise I’ve ever heard a person make in the kitchen while putting together his lunch which sometimes makes me think I should make his lunch for him but I don’t like him that much, he should make it himself the night before
5am: I have to hug him while he whines and baby-voice goes bye-bye??? bye-bye????? at me (I am nonverbal in the morning, you might get a grunt out of me), and he leaves, slamming doors along the way
Anywhere between 5 am and 6 am:  Son gets up. His alarm is set for 6, but That Guy wakes him up before that most mornings. Kid goes to bed before 9 every night, though, so I don’t worry about HIM being rested
From whenever he wakes up to 7 am:  Son and I spend some peaceful time together without That Guy. This is important time that I wouldn’t miss
7am:  get Son on the bus.
7:30 - 8 or 9:  I do online stuff. Some of it is work, some of it is not.
9am :  can finally do noisy physical work stuff
10am:   lunch because breakfast was at fucking 4 am.
10a. - 2 pm:  I do my best to get as much work done as I can but am already getting worn down
2pm:  I crash hard every day at this time and struggle to keep my eyes open
2pm - 3pm:  try to stay awake, generally sitting at the computer again because I’m literally falling asleep on my feet and don’t want to fall
3pm:  go get the boy off the bus. A little more peaceful time to spend with him but only a little
4pm:  That Guy gets home
4pm to 8pm:  pay attention to That Guy or else/sit on the couch and crochet a blanket for someone else that doesn’t want it because my love language is hand made gifts and his self-hate language is getting rid of everything he loves
I hate that I only get about 2 hours of actual functional time per day.
When Son is home all day, like today, I like to spend time parallel playing with him, so get fewer other things done. We’re both perfectly content to and enjoy spending time together in this way.

This article explores the benefits of modular kitchens, popular design layouts, and how to find the best modular kitchen designers near you.
Tumblr media
Benefits of Modular Kitchens
1. Customization:
One of the primary advantages of modular kitchens is their ability to be tailored to individual needs. Homeowners can choose from a range of materials, colors, and finishes to create a kitchen that reflects their personal style while meeting functional requirements.
2. Space Efficiency:
Modular kitchens are designed to maximize space, making them ideal for both small apartments and larger homes. Features such as pull-out cabinets, corner units, and integrated appliances help in optimizing storage without compromising on usability.
3. Easy Installation:
Unlike traditional kitchen setups, modular kitchens are easier and quicker to install. The units are pre-assembled in factories, allowing for a streamlined installation process that minimizes disruption in your home.
Popular Modular Kitchen Layouts
When considering a modular kitchen design, it’s essential to choose a layout that suits your space and lifestyle. Here are some popular options:
L-Shaped Kitchen: Ideal for smaller spaces, this layout utilizes two adjacent walls.
U-Shaped Kitchen: Provides ample counter space and storage by utilizing three walls.
Island Kitchen: Features a central island that serves as additional workspace and can double as a dining area.
Parallel Kitchen: Efficient for cooking with two parallel counters; perfect for narrow spaces.
Gallery Kitchen: A compact design that maximizes efficiency by placing work areas on either side.
Finding Modular Kitchen Designers Near You
To locate reputable modular kitchen designers in your area, consider the following steps:
1. Online Search:
Utilize platforms like Justdial or IndiaMART to find local modular kitchen dealers. For instance, searching “modular kitchen designers near me” can yield numerous results tailored to your specific location.
2. Check Reviews:
Look for customer reviews and ratings on these platforms to gauge the quality of service provided by different designers. This feedback can help you make an informed decision.
3. Visit Showrooms:
If possible, visit showrooms to see the designs in person. This allows you to assess the quality of materials used and get inspiration for your own kitchen.
4. Consult Experts:
Engaging with professional interior designers who specialize in modular kitchens can provide valuable insights into design choices and functionality tailored to your needs.

FAQs on Modular Kitchen Design
What are the key benefits of choosing a modular kitchen?
Modular kitchens offer numerous advantages that make them a popular choice among homeowners. Firstly, they are highly customizable, allowing you to select materials, colors, and layouts that fit your personal style and space requirements. This flexibility enables you to maximize storage and functionality in your kitchen. Secondly, modular kitchens are designed for easy installation; since the units are pre-fabricated, they can be quickly assembled without extensive renovation work. This not only saves time but also reduces labor costs. Additionally, modular kitchens are often more cost-effective than traditional kitchens due to their mass production in standard sizes, which minimizes waste and lowers overall expenses. Lastly, they provide a modern aesthetic, blending seamlessly with contemporary home designs while offering practical solutions for everyday cooking needs.
How do I choose the right layout for my modular kitchen?
Selecting the right layout for your modular kitchen is crucial for optimizing space and functionality. The most common layouts include L-shaped, U-shaped, parallel, and island kitchens. When choosing a layout, consider the Golden Triangle Rule, which suggests that the sink, stove, and refrigerator should be placed within a triangle to facilitate efficient movement while cooking. For smaller spaces, an L-shaped or parallel kitchen may work best as they maximize corner areas and provide ample counter space without feeling cramped. If you have a larger area, an island kitchen can serve as both a workspace and a social hub. Ultimately, your choice should reflect your cooking habits, family size, and how you envision using the space.
What materials are commonly used in modular kitchen designs?
Modular kitchens can be constructed from a variety of materials tailored to meet different aesthetic and functional needs. The main carcass can be made from plywood, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), particleboard, or even stainless steel for durability. For finishes, options include laminates, acrylics, glass, and veneers that enhance visual appeal while providing ease of maintenance. Additionally, hardware like knobs and handles can be selected from materials such as brass or stainless steel to complement the overall design. Choosing the right materials not only impacts the kitchen’s appearance but also its longevity and resistance to wear and tear from daily use.
How do I maintain my modular kitchen?
Maintaining a modular kitchen is relatively straightforward due to its design and materials used. Regular cleaning is essential; use a soft cloth with mild detergent to wipe down surfaces and avoid harsh chemicals that could damage finishes. Pay special attention to areas prone to grease buildup around cooking appliances; these should be cleaned more frequently. Additionally, keeping cabinets organized will help maintain functionality—ensure that items are stored logically based on usage frequency. For wooden elements, periodic polishing may be required to keep them looking fresh. Finally, ensure that any built-in appliances are serviced regularly to avoid operational issues.
What is the typical cost range for a modular kitchen?
The cost of a modular kitchen varies significantly based on several factors including size, materials chosen, layout complexity, and additional features like built-in appliances or specialized storage solutions. It’s essential to have a clear budget before starting the design process; this will guide your material choices and layout decisions. Many companies offer financing options or payment plans that can make investing in a modular kitchen more manageable. Consulting with designers can also help provide estimates tailored to your specific needs while ensuring you get the best value for your investment.

Soundleasure | Choi San || CH. 23

MASTERLIST
Aprox. time of reading: 16 minutes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wooyoung smiled when he accidentally eyed San's phone, getting a glimpse of the cringey conversation they were having, while his friend tried to hide his smile, only getting his dimples to mark even more on his cheeks. It was early in the morning, and there they were: being all over each other through texts as if they didn't spend almost every day together.
A fake tone of annoyance went along his sigh, getting Mingi's attention -who got a hint of what Wooyoung was planning to do before he could open his mouth.
—You're going to give me cavities of how cloying you two are —he teased him, sitting next to Mingi.
—Don't read my texts, then —San immediately replied, still paying attention to the texts that kept coming in—. That's your karma for always being nosey.
—I mean, he has a point —Mingi's morning voice sounded deeper than usual, having his two friends having a hard time taking him seriously.
—I blinked so you'd play along, what the hell are you doing? —Wooyoung called him out.
Before that could evolve into a bickering, San interrupted the two of them with a question.
—How's the event going? —Wooyoung immediately turned to him after his question, smiling widely.
—Great. Y/n actually listens and is up for ideas, unlike you all who only complain about every single idea I come up with.
—Are you sure those are your ideas and not hers? —Mingi questioned again.
—I'm the most demanded event planner in my company. Think again, BigFoot —Wooyoung spat—. She still has great ideas though, it isn't like she needs my help at all.
—Thank you for helping her —San said, finally leaving his phone on the kitchen table.
—She's one of us now, it's the least I can do —he shrugged.
—Why does it sound like we're part of a cult? —Mingi intervened again, while leaving his tea cup back on the table.
—Because we are —his eyebrows lifted with his smirk—. Why do you think we keep accepting people in?
—Yeah, sure —Mingi patted his upper arm, almost laughing at what his friend said.
—Didn't you know? We used you for that. You brought Yunho, and the rest just came by themselves —San continued the joke—. The time you also spent almost a weekend sleeping, what do you think it was about?
—One kidney less...
—I can't take either of you seriously —Mingi said last, getting up from his chair while picking the toast from his plate.
Wooyoung waited for their friend to get out of the kitchen, while looking at his phone, to turn to San again.
—I see things went well with Y/n the other day.
—Yeah, she's so understanding... I don't understand where she came from, the only thing I know is I'm thankful as fuck.
—It's not enough to be thankful —Wooyoung called him out.
At the slightly furrow of San's thick eyebrows, his friend simply rolled his eyes before he continued his speech.
—What were you scared of?
—Losing her? —San mumbled.
—And what's a good way to make sure you won't lose her?
—Marry her?
Wooyoung flicked San's forehead through his bangs, making him whine at the sudden impact of his middle finger.
—No, dumbass. Becoming everything she needs. Let's put it this way: you like chocolate, do you need chocolate? —San, still confused, shook his head— Chocolate is good at punctual times. But when you eat it a lot, what happens?
—Your stomach hurts —Wooyoung flicked his forehead again, making him hiss, annoyed.
—You stop eating it. But you do need water to survive.
—And still you can end up drinking sodas or juices instead —San answered back, confused at what his friend was trying to say.
—Okay, I'll be straightforward: stop doubting everything you do, and start acting —Wooyoung recommended him, raising his voice to have San stop interrupting him—. All the issues you've had with her until now, what were they about?
—Hmm... me, I guess. But also that one time you spoke to her —he added.
—Y/n is great. But even the greatest woman ends up being tired of the same thing —Wooyoung explained.
—Hey, she said she's happy with how things are going.
—And that can change —he cut him off—. Did you know why they also called her poly? —San slowly shook his head— This is something Hongjoong told me, but apparently she's quite known for going on several dates and getting rid of those boys as soon as she lost interest.
San knew about that. She had always been quite open about that side, especially when they started talking and she came back home with a long rant about how she was going to give up dating -when, in reality, the man she wanted to date was on the other side of the screen.
—Look, Woo —San started, sounding calm—, I know you want to help, but I don't need it. Things between us are working out just fine, I've had talks about this already with her. I thank you a lot, really. She told me to be myself, and open up as I feel comfortable. And that's what I'm going to do.
There was something in San that made him be so overprotective over him, especially when he was opening so much with a whole new person. There was something clearly different in the type of connection he had with Y/n, it was exclusive to them two. When they introduced the rest of the boys to the group, neither were worried because they all had a group connection, they all were together and, in case something happened, they all would solve things out before things got bad.
But it was the first time they saw San being with someone on his own. They still were able to reach Y/n in case things went south, or in case they argued, but it was entirely different. And, as difficult as it was, San was the one who needed to learn from Y/n how to work things out in their relationship.
—That's even better —Wooyoung smiled, nodding—. Are you going to class?
—Yeah, I have an exam at nine —San threw his head to the back—. But I'll probably go to visit Y/n later, so I won't eat here.
—Can you buy me a bottle of conditioner? —Wooyoung asked, as San started picking up his things from the table to clean them up.
—Your hair isn't that long —he complained—. How do you manage to finish a bottle in less than a month?
—Mingi also uses it —his eyelids dropped in annoyance—. But I've been eating those cookies he buys, too. So...
—Alright, I'll buy a bottle before coming here.
—Thank you, baby.
San could only roll his eyes with a smile when Wooyoung called him that way. It was something that always happened. Whenever his friend got his way, he always used nicknames on everybody while a wide devilish smile was drawn on his face. Almost five years since they had known each other, and he didn't change a little bit.
Tumblr media
Y/n: How did the exam go?
Y/n: I'm sure it went great
Those two texts, apart from the one wishing him good luck five minutes before the sheet was handed to him, had him smiling like a fool on the bus on its way to her workplace. Something so simple made him feel like the most special person on the planet.
San: It went great! I thought it would be way worse
San: He's usually an asshole, but he behaved well with the exam.
His tongue clicked, deleting the next long text he was going to send to call her straight away.
—Hey, hey. How's the smartest boy doing? —Y/n moved around her office, picking up some of the things she needed before moving to the meeting room.
—I'm okay. The exam was good; I think there was only one question that didn't ring a bell. But, for the rest, all of them were completed with almost a whole sheet —he proudly stated—. And I didn't expect less. I have been studying for almost two weeks. I even pushed back some videos because of it.
It was either seeing Y/n less to be able to fill his free time with the work that was behind each audio he posted, or reschedule some of the videos while posting some shorter ones with just his moans to feed his public.
—I'm so happy to hear that —she smiled fondly, stopping everything she was doing to focus on the call—. It's been a chill day here. Let's hope it stays like this, because in a few days it'll be a headache.
And it all had one reason: the event that she had been preparing. Until then she only thought of overall details, but as the date of the event got closer, the bigger the stress was.
—Do you need help with anything?
—No, it's alright —she assured him—. Just be there for comfort, and I'll be happy.
—Of course I'll be there.
While she smiled like a fool because of his comment, Y/n managed to see her father pointing at his own wrist, marking the time, so she'd hurry up to start the meeting.
—I need to hang up —she sighed—, but let's talk later, okay?
With a positive hum, San hung up the call, breathing deeply. Although his calmness died when the itching on his neck started growing. That turtle neck sweater he had bought was the worst piece of clothing he had ever worn, same with those chelsea boots.
He hung the badge around his neck, carrying his bag by the strap so he wouldn't place it on his shoulder instead. As he walked past the building, he pushed his hair back, exposing his forehead while fixing his bangs on each side of his head.
The receptionist smiled at him when she noticed what was hanging around his neck, discarding the possibility of him being someone from the outside.
San was surprised when he walked up the stairs -he had walked out several times to meet up with her-, finding the office almost empty as he stepped inside -with the only exception of the few heads he managed to see over the gray separators between desks.
—Can I help you? —Jennifer stopped him before he could take one more step towards Y/n's office.
—Yeah, I came to visit Y/n.
—She isn't here —she rushed to say.
—I know, she told me she was going to be in a meeting, but I'll be waiting for her here —he gently smiled.
—Does she know?
—N... no —he paused for a second—, but I doubt she'll have a problem with me waiting here. I wanted to give her a surprise, since it's been an exhausting week for her.
—Okay, go in —Jennifer invited him, eyeing him from head to toe.
—Thank you —he hurried to say with a big smile.
He walked around her office, looking at all the diplomas and small trophies Y/n had worn through her years working there. It was admirable the way she worked as hard as anyone else, keeping up with the level of work to earn the image she had. Any other person would've just sat and waited for the position to come their way, yet she didn't. It was also true her father was demanding, even more with her; and he probably wouldn't have accepted his daughter doing nothing to earn the responsibilities she was going to be given.
His pupils first fell on the bucket of flowers resting on her desk, curious about seeing no note among the dark roses. And later, his eyes went up to the black blinds rolled up at the ceiling and that, by his calculations, would cover all the transparents walls in her office to give her the privacy she'd need.
A lightbulb lit up and brightened each corner in his brain, showing up one of the ideas that had remained hidden ever since he started seeing Y/n in real life.
The shades started going down slowly, covering each meter of wall after he pressed a button on the controller on her desk, making the room go darker, and instantly light up with the ceiling lights.
His sweater went off first, with him moving to her desk to sit at the edge, trying to take a pose that could make his -almost- invisible abs stand out through the shadows caused by the lights. He first tried with one leg lifted and folded at the edge, only to change it back again to have his lower back resting against the table.
His tongue clicked before he moved again, unzipping his black pants and kicking away his boots.
He probably looked like one of those Calvin Klein models, with the only difference that his underwear cost one dollar instead of fifteen. It was at that point that he thought of the idea he had, and how ridiculous it would look from the outside as she crossed the door. But before he could even attempt to pick up his pants, the door clicked, having San rushing back to the last position he was at.
Instead of Y/n...
Shit.
San jumped out of the desk, throwing himself over his clothes when he saw her father's surprised eyes before he closed the door back again.
Y/n was surprised at how pale her father looked, going backwards instead of stepping inside her office like they were planning to to discuss some topics in the meeting that hadn't been entirely discussed.
—You have a visit.
Instead of explaining what he was talking about, her father walked past her, heading back to his office while she was left staring at the usually transparent door covered by the shades she hardly ever used.
She looked at Jennifer, waiting for an explanation, but she only shrugged her shoulders while she walked the same route her father did. San was startled, losing balance as he tried to cover himself again behind the desk.
—What's this? —Y/n hurried to close the door behind her— When did you come?
—I'm sorry. I didn't think your father would be here —he apologized, stucking his head on the neck of his sweater.
—In his defense —Y/n walked to him, pulling the sweater down so he'd be able to see again—, you are the one who isn't supposed to be half naked in my office.
Her tone sounded calm, yet her funny smile was giving hints of a soon giggle that'd remind him of how ridiculous he was.
—I liked it, but next time I would rather you keep the show for me only.
—It isn't funny —he whined—. Your father is going to hate me after this.
—Hate is an ugly word —she tried to soften the situation, while placing the neck properly—. Let's say he's shocked —while moving her fingers over his chest, she spoke again—. Is this sweater new?
—Yeah, I bought it for the times I came here to visit you —his lips were puckered while he explained himself.
—It looks really good on you —cupping his cheeks, Y/n pulled him in for a kiss—. You'll see it's nothing. My father isn't scared of this type of thing.
While he tried to zip his pants, Y/n fixed his hair, parting his bangs back to where they were.
—Do you have a secret admirer? —he asked, looking back at the flowers.
She was confused at first, slightly furrowing his eyebrows before turning her back at the mention of his head to point behind her.
Those damned flowers.
—I don't know, I guess —she pressed her lips.
Before ever thinking of telling him how she didn't know where all those flowers came from, and how creeped out she felt about some of the notes that had started being sent for a few weeks, she tried to play it cool.
—Feel threatened? —she tilted her head.
—Nope —he assured her—. Whoever that person is needs to send flowers to get your attention, which I already have.
Her arms slowly embraced his shoulders, stepping closer to him as his hands took a spot on each of her hips.
—Did you know confidence looks so good on you?
—I'd tell you what else looks good on me, but I don't think this is the time —San added, reminding her of her father.
—You're right, tell me later —she patted his chest—. Now you should join us for lunch, I was planning on eating with him. The worst thing you could do is pretend this didn't happen.
His hands stopped her from moving any further when she attempted to turn her body, guiding her to look back into his eyes.
—You sure there's nothing worrying you?
If something he had learned about her, and which seemed even more obvious in person than through texts, was the fact that Y/n would always ignore those conversations she didn't want to have -especially if they meant creating an environment of discomfort because of it.
San looked subtly over her shoulder again, confirming her he was talking about those flowers.
—Really sure —she faked a smile, pinching his chin—. Let's go.
San wished he was small enough to hide behind Y/n as soon as he stepped foot outside her office and was met with her father's eyes. He didn't give him a bad look. Instead, he offered him a gentle smile and looked back at his daughter to make sure they both were ready to have lunch together.
Appetite didn't peek through, not a single time, since they sat on the table. He only pretended to eat, or be interested with food, by moving the salad around its corner, and cutting the steak in even smaller pieces while he tried to escape Harry's eyes.
—How did your exam go? —the older man was the first to speak, speaking on a normal tone, yet loud and clear enough to be heard among the background noise of the people in the cafeteria— Y/n told me.
—It was okay —San shyly answered—. It was great, actually.
Y/n smiled proudly at him while chewing on her food, rubbing her knee against his to give him some kind of comfort that wouldn't be obvious for her father.
—Now there's something else going on —he continued, under his rough gaze—. They told us we need to get credits by doing some internship, so I started eyeing some companies.
Y/n chewed slower, remembering the moment he first told her a few days back, and how quickly he turned down her offer on doing them in her company. She could understand why, but she wasn't sure her father would let it go as easily as she did. The second he regretted ever saying those words was also easily perceived on the way he momentarily clenched his jaw.
Whenever he was nervous, he spoke before he could control his thoughts. There were many reasons why he first rejected her offer: the most obvious, and the only one she knew about, was about the fact that they were dating and it'd look off for those around them; and the second one, his father and the past relationship he had with the company.
—And why don't you do them here? —Harry mentioned.
—Well, Y/n already told me. And I think it'd be better if we don't mix...
—You won't even be in the same department as Y/n or me, your supervisor and mentors will be somebody else —he insisted—. Why would you go to another company when you have this one?
—Dad, San will be more comfortable somewhere else.
—Doing the internship here could open a lot of doors for you. And you'll also be familiar with the place, which is better than going somewhere you don't know.
—Saying it that way...
—It'll be easier for me to recommend you to other partners that could be looking for someone with your experience —Harry shrugged—. The way I see it there are more positive sides than negative.
—Yeah, that's true —he nervously nodded.
—Say no more. Send me the documents you need me to feel and sign, and you'll be able to present them before it's too late —he tapped over the table.
—By the way, sir... —San spoke again— About what you saw earlier...
—Tss, no worries —both San and Y/n turned to him surprised—. You should've seen me when I started dating her mother. It's natural, and I'm not scared of those things, my daughter is old enough to know what she's doing.
—Well, that soothes me —San finally smiled genuinely.
The rest of the lunch went by with Y/n and her father discussing some points on the meeting they had minutes before their lunch, shifting to San and him discussing things about the internship he was about to do.
Despite being so big, and seeming so intimidating, her father was approachable and easy to talk to.
—Why don't you get ahead of us? —Harry told Y/n.
She looked back at San, trying to comfort him somehow before she continued her walk to her office.
—San —his hand fell heavy on his nape, with his fingers squishing the skin—, I'm understanding, really understanding. But if I see you again half naked near my daughter again, I'll cut your balls. Hmm? —his eyebrows raised— Understood?
—Under... Understood, sir.
Yeah, he said nothing about his in-law being approachable.

Kitchen Remodeling in San Mateo: Planning Your Dream Kitchen
Introduction
Kitchen remodeling is one of the most impactful home improvement projects you can undertake. It not only enhances the functionality and aesthetics of your home but also significantly increases its value. In San Mateo, where homeowners appreciate both style and practicality, planning a kitchen remodel requires careful consideration and strategic planning. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the essential steps to planning your dream kitchen, ensuring a successful and satisfying renovation.
Tumblr media
Assessing Your Needs and Setting Goals
Before diving into the details of your kitchen remodel, it’s crucial to assess your needs and set clear goals. Consider how your current kitchen functions and identify any issues or limitations. Are you looking to improve storage, enhance workflow, upgrade appliances, or create a more open and inviting space? Defining your priorities will help guide your decisions and ensure the final result meets your expectations.
Establishing a Realistic Budget
A well-planned budget is the foundation of a successful kitchen remodel. Determine how much you are willing to invest and allocate funds for different aspects of the project, including materials, labor, permits, and contingencies. Research the average costs of kitchen remodeling in San Mateo to get a sense of what to expect. While it’s important to be budget-conscious, investing in quality materials and skilled labor can save money in the long run by reducing the need for repairs and replacements.
Finding the Right Professionals
Choosing the right professionals for your kitchen remodel is essential. Start by seeking recommendations from friends, family, or neighbors who have completed similar projects. Online reviews and ratings can also provide valuable insights. Look for contractors with extensive experience, a solid portfolio of completed projects, and positive customer feedback. Schedule consultations with a few shortlisted contractors to discuss your project, review their portfolios, and obtain detailed quotes. Ensure they are licensed, insured, and familiar with local building codes and regulations.
Planning Your Kitchen Layout
The layout of your kitchen is the foundation of its design. Efficient use of space is essential for functionality and convenience. Common kitchen layouts include:
U-Shaped Layout
A U-shaped kitchen layout features cabinets and appliances on three walls, creating a U-shape. This layout is ideal for maximizing storage and counter space, providing ample room for multiple workstations.
L-Shaped Layout
An L-shaped kitchen layout places cabinets and appliances along two perpendicular walls, forming an L-shape. This layout is perfect for open-concept homes, as it allows for easy interaction with adjacent living or dining areas.
Galley Layout
A galley kitchen layout consists of two parallel walls with a walkway in between. This efficient layout is ideal for smaller spaces, providing easy access to all work areas.
Island Layout
An island layout incorporates a freestanding island in the center of the kitchen, offering additional counter space, storage, and seating. This layout is versatile and works well in both large and open kitchens.
Selecting Materials and Finishes
The materials and finishes you choose for your kitchen remodel will greatly impact its overall look and feel. Consider the following elements:
Cabinets
Cabinets are a significant component of any kitchen remodel. Choose high-quality materials that offer durability and aesthetic appeal. Popular options include solid wood, plywood, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Select a style that complements your design vision, whether it’s traditional, modern, or transitional.
Countertops
Countertops play a crucial role in both the functionality and aesthetics of your kitchen. Popular materials include granite, quartz, marble, and butcher block. Consider factors such as durability, maintenance, and cost when selecting the right countertop material for your kitchen.
Flooring
Durable and easy-to-clean flooring is essential in a kitchen. Options include hardwood, tile, vinyl, and laminate. Choose a material that can withstand high traffic and is resistant to spills and stains.
Backsplash
A backsplash not only protects your walls from splatters but also adds visual interest to your kitchen. Popular materials include ceramic tile, glass, and natural stone. Consider incorporating a unique pattern or color to make a statement.
Appliances
Upgrading your appliances can enhance the functionality and efficiency of your kitchen. Choose energy-efficient models that offer the features you need. Stainless steel is a popular finish for a modern and sleek look.
Incorporating Modern Trends and Features
Incorporating modern trends and features can elevate your kitchen remodel and add value to your home. Here are some contemporary ideas to consider:
Open Shelving
Open shelving is a popular trend that creates a sense of openness and accessibility. It allows you to showcase your dishware and decor while keeping essentials within easy reach.
Smart Technology
Integrating smart technology can enhance convenience and efficiency in your kitchen. Smart appliances, such as refrigerators, ovens, and dishwashers, offer advanced features and connectivity. Consider adding smart lighting and voice-activated controls for added convenience.
Sustainable Choices
Incorporating eco-friendly elements in your kitchen remodel can reduce your environmental impact and lower utility bills. Consider using sustainable materials such as bamboo or recycled glass for countertops and cabinets. Install energy-efficient appliances and LED lighting to conserve energy.
Preparing for the Remodeling Process
Effective preparation can help minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth remodeling process. Here are some steps to consider:
Planning and Scheduling
Create a detailed plan and timeline for your project, including key milestones and deadlines. Coordinate with your contractor to ensure everyone is on the same page. A well-structured schedule can help minimize disruptions and keep the project progressing smoothly.
Communication
Maintain open and regular communication with your remodeling team. Discuss any concerns or changes promptly to avoid misunderstandings. Regular updates and progress reports can help you stay informed and make necessary adjustments.
Temporary Kitchen Setup
Set up a temporary kitchen to minimize inconvenience during the remodeling process. Utilize a small section of another room with essential items like a portable stove, microwave, and mini-fridge. This setup can help you maintain some normalcy while your main kitchen is under construction.
Executing the Remodeling Project
Executing a kitchen remodeling project involves several stages, each requiring careful planning and coordination. Here’s an overview of the process:
Demolition and Preparation
The first step is demolishing the existing kitchen to make way for the new design. This includes removing old cabinets, countertops, appliances, and flooring as needed. Ensure the area is properly prepped, including addressing any underlying issues like plumbing or electrical work that need updating or repairing.
Plumbing and Electrical Work
Once the demolition is complete, the next step is to address any necessary plumbing and electrical work. This may include relocating pipes or wiring to accommodate the new layout and fixtures. Ensure all work is performed by licensed professionals and complies with local building codes.
Installation of Cabinets and Countertops
After the plumbing and electrical work is done, it’s time to install the new cabinets and countertops. This step requires precision to ensure everything is level and properly aligned. High-quality installation is crucial for durability and functionality.
Flooring and Backsplash Installation
Next, install the flooring and backsplash. Ensure the flooring is level and properly sealed to prevent damage. The backsplash should be installed evenly and securely to provide long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal.
Appliance Installation
Once the cabinets, countertops, flooring, and backsplash are in place, it’s time to install the new appliances. Ensure they are properly connected and functioning as intended. This step also includes testing any smart technology features to ensure they work seamlessly.
Final Touches and Inspection
The final stage involves adding the finishing touches, such as lighting fixtures, hardware, and decorative elements. Perform a thorough inspection to ensure all work meets your standards and address any issues or adjustments needed. Conduct a final walk-through with your contractor to confirm everything is completed to your satisfaction.
