Unlocking the Benefits: What Are Sulfate-Free Shampoos?
In recent years, sulfate-free shampoos have gained popularity for their gentle cleansing properties and purported benefits for hair health. But what exactly are sulfate-free shampoos, and why are they becoming a preferred choice for many? In this blog post, we'll delve into the world of sulfate-free shampoos, exploring their ingredients, benefits, and reasons to consider making the switch to a sulfate-free hair care routine.
Understanding Sulfates: Before diving into the concept of sulfate-free shampoos, let's first understand what sulfates are. Sulfates are surfactants, or cleansing agents, commonly found in many personal care products, including shampoos. The most commonly used sulfates in shampoos are sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). These sulfates are responsible for creating the lather or foam that helps to remove dirt, oil, and product buildup from the hair and scalp.
What Are Sulfate-Free Shampoos? As the name suggests, sulfate-free shampoos are formulated without the use of sulfates. Instead of sulfates, these shampoos use alternative cleansing agents that are milder and less harsh on the hair and scalp. Some common sulfate alternatives found in sulfate-free shampoos include:
Coco-glucoside
Decyl glucoside
Sodium cocoyl glutamate
Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate
Benefits of Sulfate-Free Shampoos:
Gentle Cleansing: Sulfate-free shampoos are known for their gentle cleansing action, which helps to clean the hair and scalp without stripping away natural oils excessively. This makes them suitable for those with sensitive or dry scalp conditions.
Retains Moisture: Unlike traditional shampoos that can leave the hair feeling dry and stripped of moisture, sulfate-free shampoos help to retain the hair's natural moisture balance. This can help prevent dryness and improve overall hair hydration.
Ideal for Color-Treated Hair: Sulfate-free shampoos are often recommended for individuals with color-treated or chemically processed hair. The gentle formula helps to preserve hair color and prevent premature fading, allowing for longer-lasting vibrancy.
Reduced Irritation: For individuals with sensitive skin or scalp conditions such as eczema or dermatitis, sulfate-free shampoos can help reduce irritation and inflammation. The absence of harsh sulfates minimizes the risk of adverse reactions, making sulfate-free shampoos a preferred choice for those with sensitive skin.
Environmentally Friendly: Sulfate-free shampoos are often considered more environmentally friendly than traditional shampoos containing sulfates. The use of milder surfactants and natural ingredients in sulfate-free formulations is less harmful to aquatic ecosystems and reduces environmental impact.
Conclusion: Buy Best Sulfate-free shampoos offer a gentler alternative to traditional shampoos containing sulfates, making them suitable for individuals looking to minimize exposure to harsh chemicals and maintain healthy hair and scalp. With their gentle cleansing action, ability to retain moisture, and suitability for sensitive skin, sulfate-free shampoos have become a popular choice among consumers seeking a more natural and environmentally friendly hair care option. Consider making the switch to sulfate-free shampoos to experience the benefits firsthand and unlock healthier, happier hair!

Glow-up tips that actually work from your favourite beauty girly (me)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hot girls don't gatekeep, so here are some of my favourite glow-up tips that actually work. <3
Skin
Find a skincare routine that works for you!! It took me years to find mine, but now my skin is literally perfect. <3 (let me know if you guys want a detailed skincare routine!!)
Don't pick your skin, the less you touch your face, the better.
I believe ice rollers are bs…
If you struggle with dark circles, don't try fixing them through skincare. Most likely, the problem comes from your diet or stress.
Dry brushing is a game-changer!!
Use lotion after every shower and apply a body spray before the lotion is fully absorbed into your skin. You'll smell amazing for DAYS.
Don't try homemade skincare if you already struggle with your skin. I learned it the hard way, lol…
WASH YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hair
The more heat you use, the more damage you'll have.
SILK PILLOWCASES
Never sleep with wet or damp hair.
Stop buying cheap shampoo and conditioner, also make sure to check the ingredients!!
Some ingredients to avoid: Sulfates, Parabens, Polyethene Glycols, Triclosan, Formaldehyde, Synthetic Fragrances and Colors, Dimethicone, Retinyl Palmitate.
I trim my hair every 3 months.
If you have damaged hair, invest in some Olaplex!! my favourites are N4c, N6 and N7. <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diet
green juice actually makes you feel better. I make mine at home and LOVE it :)
Balance is key!! I swear by the 80/20 rule.
Drink more water, even if you think you're drinking enough. DRINK MORE
Keto is BS <3
Focus on eating more protein. Usually, low-fat products have more protein, so I just try to buy those, lol.
I eat gluten-free, not by choice… But it did clear my acne, so…
Take supplements, get a blood test done, discuss it with a doctor and start taking whatever they recommend. GAME CHANGER.
EAT MORE VEGETABLES and fruits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lifestyle
Focus on being more active, walk more, workout, join a club or sport, dance, whatever works for you!!
I aim for 10K steps, I live in a big city, so I usually walk more than that but still.
Hobbies that don't include screen time. Trust me.
Find your personal style and ALWAYS dress up. <3
TREAT YOURSELF. Buy yourself flowers, and presents, go to your favourite restaurants, vacations!!
Read more. As a classics lover, I can't imagine a life without literature, but even if you don't like classics, any book is better than no book!!
Take more pictures. I've noticed that I have become a lot more present since I've started taking more pictures!! highly recommend :)
I hate to say this, but getting up earlier is lowkey kinda great... been doing it for a few weeks, and unfortunately, I do feel better... they were right...
Get a cat. :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mindset
Stop assuming that everyone hates you, they don't, trust me.
Journaling, manifesting, law of attraction, affirmations.
one of my favourite affirmations: "if I weren't capable, the opportunity wouldn't have come my way; I belong here." <3
Stop hanging out with people who drain your energy
stop consuming media that makes you feel bad.
What would the highest version of yourself do?
If you change your mindset, you will change your life.
Romanticise every aspect of your life. <3
As always, please feel free to share your own suggestions and glow-up tips in the comments! <3

Note
I tend to have frizzy hair or hair breakage and it bothers me 😭😭😭
Hmm 🤔
Maybe try:
-Using satin pillow covers
-Don't brushing your hair while wet
-Always detangle your hair from the ends, instead of starting from the roots.
-Use an infusion of rosemary and garlic. (boil it and apply it twice a week)
-Use paraben and sulfate free products.
(H&Shoulders, pantene, dove, those brands? Stay out of them. They're full of salt, sulfates and silicones)
-Don't use a tight ponytail or bun, it pulls at your roots weakening the follicles.
-Take vitamins like Biotin
-Wash your hair thrice a week. (Washing it every day only weakens it even more and dries it)
-Use the shampoo in your SCALP only. (Shampoo dries the ends) and the conditioner from your middle to ends
-Trim the ends every 3 months
-Sleep properly (high level of stress makes breakage even more prominent and hair to fall down)
Hope that helps!

What would be Sephiroth's hair routine?
If Sephiroth had a hair care routine...
• The topic of Sephiroth's hair garners many rumors in the Silver Elite fandom, especially after the information was released that Sephiroth uses an entire bottle of shampoo each wash. Some say he has a complicated, ten-step hair care routine that he goes through every day, others say his hair is naturally perfect and that he barely has to put effort in it.
• Little to they know that Sephiroth does have a hair care routine, and it is multi-step, but not as complicated as they think.
• When he has the time, he likes to oil his hair at LEAST two hours before he washes it, to eradicate the little grease that accumulates in his hair when he's sweating during combat.
• First, he does co-wash, but he doesn't use an entire bottle of shampoo like the rumors say. Because of his genetics, his hair is self-cleaning (in a way) which allows him to use minimal shampoo which he's VERY selective about.
• His shampoo has to be sulfate-free and without any parabens. If his hair will clean itself, he'd rather not put any harsh ingredients in it.
• Sephiroth does use almost an entire bottle of conditioner though. He usually opts for ingredients that give his hair extra slip and shine, since he hates it when his hair gets tangled.
• He also uses hair masks in the shower religiously. Again, not that he particularly needs it, but he is fond of his hair and likes to treat it well. He alters between nutrition masks and hidration masks.
• After the shower, he gently dries his hair with a microfiber towel before applying a serum and some leave-in conditioner. He waits twenty minutes before starting the arduous process that is brushing and detangling his hair.
• His hair dries abnormally quickly on its own (thank you Jenova cells) but he sometimes will blow dry it just to quicken the process and get the specific end look he wants.
• After that he's done! All ready to step out into the grime and polluted air of Midgar that will leave his hair dryer than a cactuar's ass! And work up a sweat during training and missions that is so ungodly that he'll have to repeat the entire process all over again.

It has been a few weeks since I switched to shampoo & conditioner bars & I really like the ones I got from Mt. Royal! The shampoo lathers surprisingly well & the conditioner leaves my hair feeling very soft, though I feel I have to use more of the conditioner than as directed.
I got the rosemary & matcha bar & I have thick, wavy hair in an extremely dry climate. I’ll update with longer term results in a month or so if I think of it.

The Eco Shop: Unveiling the Sustainable Side of Hair Care
Achieving beautiful hair often requires the use of traditional hair care products that come in plastic bottles and contain harsh chemicals. These products can negatively impact the environment by polluting waterways. However, it's becoming increasingly important to adopt a more sustainable approach to beauty. The Eco Shop is here to help you on your journey towards a more eco-friendly hair care routine.
This blog delves into the world of sustainable hair care products, exploring the benefits they offer for your hair and the planet. We'll also unveil some eco-friendly hair care essentials you can find at The Eco Shop!
Why Choose Sustainable Hair Care Products?
Tumblr media
Sustainable hair care products prioritize the well-being of both your hair and the environment. Here are some key reasons to make the switch:
Minimize Plastic Waste: Traditional hair care products often come in plastic bottles, contributing significantly to plastic pollution. Sustainable alternatives, such as shampoo bars and refillable containers, significantly reduce plastic waste.
Embrace Natural Ingredients: Look for products formulated with natural and organic ingredients that are gentle on your scalp and hair. These ingredients are often biodegradable and less likely to harm the environment.
Protect Waterways: Conventional hair care products frequently contain harsh chemicals like sulfates and parabens. Sustainable alternatives often avoid these chemicals, reducing the amount of harmful pollutants entering our water systems.
Support Ethical Practices: Many sustainable hair care brands prioritize ethical sourcing and production practices. This can involve supporting fair trade practices and ensuring responsible harvesting of natural ingredients.
Sustainable Hair Care Essentials at The Eco Shop
The Eco Shop offers a curated selection of sustainable hair care products to cater to various hair types and needs. Here are some of our top picks:
Shampoo and Conditioner Bars: These concentrated bars offer a plastic-free alternative to traditional bottled shampoos and conditioners. They are typically long-lasting and easy to travel with. At The Eco Shop, we offer a variety of shampoo and conditioner bars formulated for different hair types, such as The Earthling Co. Shampoo Bar Promote Hair Growth Strengthen & Volumize All Hair Types (contains organic ingredients to promote hair growth and Volumize) and Kitsch Conditioner Bar Rice Water Protein, which is perfect for adding shine and bounce to dry hair. Beyond Products: Sustainable Hair Care Practices
In addition to using eco-friendly products, you can further reduce your environmental impact with some simple changes to your hair care routine:
Reduce Washing Frequency: Shampooing too often can strip your hair of its natural oils. Try extending the time between washes to promote scalp health and reduce water usage.
Embrace Air Drying: Skip the heat styling whenever possible. Air drying is gentler on your hair and reduces your energy consumption.
Cold Water Rinses: Finish your shower with a cold water rinse to lock in shine and reduce frizz. This simple step saves hot water. These small changes can make a big difference for the environment!

Haircare – with herbal and organic Products
We all have a different head of hair – or in some cases no hair at all!
Hair care starts from the root which is why is why scalp care is just as important.
Below are some habits that you can make for healthy hair and a healthy scalp.
Know what type of hair you have – this will help determine what hair routine and products best suit your hair.
Use natural shampoo, cleansers, and conditioners – Commercial shampoo may smell great but can strip your hair of its natural oils leaving it dry and prone to Splitting. I find hair cleansers that are free from parabens and sulfates perfect for a deep wash without leaving my hair high and dry.
**Cleansers are usually sulphate free and more gentle then conditioners and shampoos, they also act as a 2 in 1 hair wash**
3. Having a nutritious and balanced diet. Eating right is a major factor for healthy hair, having a balanced diet can reflect on skin, weight, and even hair. Lean meant, poultry, beans, fish, and low fat – dairy products are all great food Groups for your hair. incorporate foods that are high in omega like flax seed, salmon, and yogurt.
Tumblr media
** Avoid extreme hot/cold showers**
5. Get a trim every 8 weeks ( at least ). 1 used to be petrified of getting my hair cut so of course I would avoid it – logically my hair grew long but after a while it was longand UGLY. My ends were split and the becuase of the dead weight it had no volume.
