I think it's overstretched extras, but can you imagine Handcraft Falls' Candy and Grenda?

For Candy, I probably could think of something more delicate like a papercraft? Or a 2D-like paper doll you can swap outfits?

For Grenda, something rugged and tough like a stone sculpture?

For how it would happen, let's say Mabel came up with an idea along with them for fun, like a comic where Dipper and Mabel discussed with Stan that how he would look like if he got caught by a curse.

Candy and Grenda... maybe it's because she's got the same voice actress as BMO, who has a screen for a face, but I could see Candy as a glass sculpture? One of those colored ones that are sort of tacky and fun and are things like dolphins or birds. Something a pre-teen girl might get as a gift if she likes Lisa Frank art, and Candy feels like a Lisa Frank girl to me. And she's the skinniest and shortest of the three girls, so she feels more physically fragile than the others. But still cutting, as the unicorn fight proves!

(Or maybe she's literally made of candy, lol. Like a gingerbread girl. But that might be pushing the definition of art/craft a liiiittle far.)

Grenda's tough. Both in the sense that she should be something sturdy and in the sense that I'm having trouble thinking of her exact craft. First thought was a bronze or iron statue, but I'm not fully sold on it. Maybe a clay sculpture, in her case? Very colorful clay, maybe, like vibrant desert clay to match Candy's vibrancy. Hmmm. That's the best I've got for her at the moment, though I wish I could think of something a little more distinct.

Candy and Grenda would be THRILLED with Mabel's curse. Their bff, a super cute and cuddly doll?? That rules! There would be much screaming and some lighthearted jealousy that they weren't cursed too--leading to the discussion of what they'd be.

So I'm a teacher and I'm going to use cubecraft paper toys (you know those little guys you print, cut, and then glue together to make little toys? that) for a geometry class. So far I've been able to find:

3 aliens (child friendly)

5 aliens (from wildly inappropriate for kids media)

2 amogus

12 different fictional dogs, cats, etc

7 characters I've never heard of in my life

6 characters from adult-ish media well beyond the usual age of paper toy users

0 Black women

And I'll give one chance to figure out which of these I was actually looking for

Like. IDK the whole "forced diversity" discourse is stupid and we all know this but it really drives home how stupid it is whenever I try to use something based on children's media for my classes and I have to fight for my LIFE to find anything that's not a white man or a dainty princessy white woman for them. It's seriously annoying

#i just. sigh #i think i'm gonna have to use minecraft steve to have a Black character paper toy #and then the other will be Joy from inside out (light skinned woman) and the other will be nonhuman (Stitch)#but bruh.#so long looking for tiana cubecrafts and i couldn't find anything that fit what i was looking for #there are a few papercrafts (all notably less detailed than others) but they weren't cubecraft which i need for the purpose of the class #i think i'm going to add lilo from L&S. that way we'll have an indigenous woman #but she's not recognizable as indigenous in the brazilian context so #ugh
