jaehaera has never been alone with her father. he has visited their chambers occasionally and checked on them, even taken jaehaerys out to see council meetings and visit the dragons, but this is the first time they meet without any other person present and jaehaera is anxious. he is her father, so she knows no harm will befall her in his presence, but she is not as comfortable around him as she is around her mother. she struggles with opening up and speaking even around her, let alone someone who has walked in and out of her life as it pleases him.

she is not sure why he has called her to him. in the aftermath of her brother's murder, haera has not seen much of her parents. her grandmother visits her often and sits with her, but the girl never speaks and seems lost in her own world most of the time. drawing closer, she stands before the king now, who does not seem very royal in the privacy of his own chambers with his shirt untucked and boots discarded. he looks more like a man who could be a father and that eases jaehaera's mind a little. the girl's hand reaches out and gently touches his cheek to caress, because he looks tired and sad. dark circles bloom under his eyes and she can tell his sleep is as haunted as hers.

Since Cybertron was in a decaying state at the time of Optimus and Megatron's hatching and their egg couldn't develop properly, the brothers were born as small protoforms that couldn't feed on their own or even see at the begining unlike fully formed hatchlings that are similar to a toddler.

This means that Sentinel, instead of having two toddlers that were easier to take care of, was now stuck with the equivalent of two newborn kittens.

While Megatron is the strongest hatchling, Optimus takes the crown when it comes to being the more vocal.

Primus, give him patience.
