#vent post alert vent post alert!#you can skip ahead this is 100% me being dramatic but ohhh my god#why the fuck do people feel the need to comment on every single tiny thing that i do that literally doesn’t affect anybody#except for making my life that little bit easier??#a list of Very Rude things that i apparently do that don't sit well with people:#working with my overhead lights off when i'm alone in the office (one day a month)#greeting people with a general good morning and not going into every single room to announce my presence when i get into work#working with headphones on#(not bc it's against workplace policies just bc i don't make myself constantly available for chats with my coworkers)#worthy to note i'm not even the only one who does any of these things apparently it's just a problem when i do it go figure#rn it was keeping the pantry door closed bc the noise the electronics in the room make is particularly grating#(pantry door needs to be open at all times for ???? reasons)#i could go on#as you can tell these are all Very Serious and Bothersome Offenses#like i'm sorry very unobtrusively accommodating my autistic brain is such a bother for you#please how can i make YOUR experience even more comfortable at the expense of mine#fuck this shit honestly

My cookies never turn out like Tumblr pictures 😂
#they are definitely underdone in the middle but thankfully i dont care#and i only did 2.25 instead of 2.5 cups of choc chips and there were still too many chips#as i the dough wont form because it's all chocolate chipa#and no milk chips because i don't keep that shit in my pantry#alex does food#as i typed this the ones left in the oven burnt 😆#my dark cookie sheet got them done in about 10 min#but the light was still struggling at 13#and for the record i have yet to use a recipe that uses brown butter and be worth it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#and i think the toll house recipe is best#last thing i will do the lost art of mixing cookies by hand as long as i can

little soup cans are some of the neatest things we have, wish there were more soup-can-like things in this world
#just me hi#though canopeners need to stop being deadly weapons to some degree before that hfhs#'they're not deadly tho ?' well usually yes. but did you know that they can age Badly? i did not!#and the one I was using was dulled to an extent that it would Skip over a part of the can#(nearly the same spot every time lol) and when I thought I'd managed to fool it and had only#the tiniest bit of metal between me and some beans (pretty sure it was beans) I thought#'ohh I'll just pull up the can lid :)' Well the lid snapped off completely towards and Into my hand#and I had a bean-can wound on my pinky for about a week or so. I do not know how long it's been lol#//but soup cans are pretty cool I feel like they're kinda underappreciated !!#you can just have Soup ? Whenever ??? and it's Normal !! wow :D#sure making soup is pretty great. but that's a process man. and we're not even associates#[<- 'a process I am (not) intimate with']#like there is a little can of menudo in the pantry rn - medunito they call it isn't that just !! - and it's just there. it can be made in#like 10 minutes. is this Not the best thing ever ! ?#//I've also gotta figure out this sleeping thing that I've got going on (everybody has it going on)#I was maybe half a week into actually have a consistent thing going but the night I stopped was bc I am a sucker of a storyteller and we#were up til about. I think 4-6 a.m.#that's on me yes. my siblings vs. my desire to tell stories and rubber willpower hfbdh#a deadly match truly#and also I lost my snoopy watch (RIP snoopy watch you will be missed (I can't find it send help Waough)) and that was the only clock I had#in this room so now if I wanna know the time I have to go the living room - which is like a whole dang thing lemme tell you about it#/first I've gotta get up - easiest thing by far - and get to the door - assuming I don't get KO'd by my siblings' belongings on the floor -#get to the door. the door Is broken to some extent. opening it means a loud THDPD noise is sent throughout the entire house lol. and you#have to yank on the thing to get it open - so double effort there - and then you step out into the hallwayish area where you can then enter#the living room - oh so easy! but No! you then have to either turn on the kitchen lights and wake everyone with their door open or sleeping#in the living room for whatever reason Orrr you have to clamber over chairs pots perhaps a cat if you've got real bad luck that night to ge#up nice n personal to the clock so you can read the dang thing and see it's 11:23. which is like nothing so you stay up Anyway and do not#check the clock again because not only was that a hassle but also you released every creature that was in the room with you (that's a lot o#noise). but Yea the clock situation is ongoing hfbsh#'why don't you get a clock' that would be much too easy loll :) (last one disappeared and we keep forgetting lol) //ran out of tag space so

heyy i was going through the asks and i saw a pic of your cat and he/she is lovelyyyy 🤍🤍 but i saw them wearing a collar with a bell hanging and i don't know if you know this but bells are really bad for their hearing and it decreases their special hearing abilities over time so it would be better if you took it off the collar

hi hi!! i love my kitty so so much she’s so evil and sweet and naughty and conniving and soft she’s like if a cloud had a pink nose and was also a teeny tiny gremlin 💘🤩🥰💖😭💕💞
about her bell: i did a bunch of research on collars and bells and name tags when i adopted her and made sure to get her a quick-release collar with a lower pitched bell (i find the high pitched/kitten ones so annoying lololol) that makes more of a plasticky sound than a metallic one. it’s also not very sensitive, so it doesn’t jingle every time she moves. like right now she’s sitting here next to me having a nice bath and her bell isn’t making any noise at all!
she lives exclusively indoors, so the bell won’t interfere with her hunting/surviving outside, and she doesn’t have trouble with anxiety or sensitivity issues that might make the bell uncomfortable for her. she does however do a lot of hiding and snooping and getting into things she’s not supposed to (re: she’s naughty & conniving), so the bell helps me figure out where she is in my apartment and makes sure i can find her when she’s creeping around and getting into trouble. it also makes me feel better to know that i could find her quickly if something like a fire alarm goes off or a pipe bursts in the building (this happens often in the winter where i live, it’s super annoying) and i could get her out of here fast if i needed to.
i love my cat so so much & i promise she has a wonderful life! she gets a ton of attention and treats and loads of playtime, she has lots of warm, sunny nap spots and more toys and puzzles and cozy places to sleep than she could ever want! she’s basically my evil little child (my mom calls her her granddaughter 😭) and i take her well-being very seriously, and i hope u know i’m not just brushing off your concerns 🫶 i just feel confident in the decisions i’ve made for her. thank u for bringing it up, and i’ll be on the lookout for any signs that she’s becoming uncomfortable or that her health is being impacted 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

Everyones always about how plants are so specific about their environments
But i just think… about this one plant we have in our kitchen that cracks me up like…
Bro’s a basil sittin’ in a cold room, in a cup of water (LITERALLY) and goes like a few days where they sip up all the water and idle around until one of us goes “ohp he’s dry again” and then fill it back up…
…Like… he’s been in a cup of water for like 5 months? And he has yet to die and i think its so funny
#rambles#It also makes me#think about the bean expierment#we had a project for school once where we had to put uhm a bean plant by the window and in a dark place#and we did that but i twas but a child and felt horrible for bringing up a plant just to kill it#so i’d turn on the light in the pantry and walk away#it would turn off and i’d just turn it back on#and the funniest thing is that the plant in the pantry grew way better then the plant by the window
