8 and 6 forrr Charlotte thanks!
6 - Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
Shed always take advice from Stelle and usually from Atlas. She trusts them both to give her actual helpful answers, but probably Stelle a bit more. As much as she and Nat get along with their dumb pranks, because of that Charlotte would never take advice from Nat, wouldn’t even go to him for help in the first place.
8 - Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?
I think she likes the idea of complex puzzles, and there are definitely some she would be good at, but i think a lot of the time she would like the idea of working through one but then get frustrated/bored when its not really engaging or takes too long
Thank you for the ask :D

*in a life or death situation*
Dorcas: okay how the fuck do we get out of here?
Pandora: I'm working on a plan but it should take about four hours
Man: *points weapon at them*
Regulus: *survival instincts kick in and he manages to flirt his way out of the situation*
Everyone: ......
Regulus: ......
Barty: WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?!
Regulus: I AM JUST AS CONFUSED AS YOU ARE
Evan: please go back to being quiet and offputting, that was fucking terrifying
Dorcas: Yeah, I agree. That was weirdly attractive and I'm literally a lesbian.
Pandora: *still trying to carry out her plan to see if it would've worked*

SPOILERS FOR AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA - TAP CON-1 AND THE SARENTU MOOT MASSACRE
I wanted to post my full thoughts about the game after i finished my first playthrough, but I can not just keep what I just learned in my head, so be forwarned; Spoilers ahead.
Let me just say that the entire TAP CON-1 quest made me feel... disgusting.
That word perfectly encapsulates how I felt the second I heard how they made the children shower in disinfectant, as if they were diseased. I felt gross, and messy and just absolutely disgusted.
And then the massacre happened and I was just... I don't know how to describe it. Like, I knew Alma was involved, but the way that it all just poured out. That she was there during the whole slaughter, how she admits to playing ignorant, how she let the children believe the lie that their families abandoned them and it just made me think of everything else she's done since knowing her.
She did nothing as the RDA barged into the moot and slaughtered the entire clan.
She did nothing as the children were literally shoved into cages like animals, shackled like prisoners and then washed and striped of everything that made them Sarentu.
She proceeds to teach them what she sought out to teach, knowing damn well the consequences of wanting her school program to work.
She did nothing as Mercer and Harding trained/abused the children.
She did nothing when Mercer killed Aha'ri (which should have been the breaking point at this rate)
She left the children in cyrosleep for 16 years, not once thinking to check if they were actually alive.
She proceeds to keep her secret, and even expresses confirmation in an audio log that "they made the right choice" when bringing up how the Sarentu children are adjusting to the resistance. Basically implying that she's glad her teachings worked.
She tells Ri'nela that the Kame'tire can't be trusted, alienating the clan that she indirectly ruined with her ambitions.
And when she's finally figured out and Alma's Avatar is killed, she laments about never experiencing Pandora freely anymore, as if she expects Ri'nela and MC to lament with her.
After the whole funeral, I began rummaging it around in my head, and in the end, I concluded that the death of Alma's avatar and her actions are in direct parallel to Jake's.
Jake wanted to be part of the Na'vi because he got to actually connect with it's culture and worked to become a part of it. And when he screwed up, he worked to earn the Omaticaya's forgiveness, eventually becoming a true Na'vi.
Alma pretty much already saw herself as part of the Na'vi, despite barely doing anything. When Nor happily shows them the Sarentu knife and then laments how it was kept as a trophy and Alma said it was back with "us", like she was implying herself as part of the Sarentu. And she did very little if nothing at all to amend her mistakes, instead opting to play the victim here.
I also thought about Grace here, and her own sins with her own school. But the difference there is that she actually worked to make a friendship with the Omaticaya before taking in students. And her school was out in the forest, made from wood and full of life and learning. Alma's school was indoors inside metal walls, cut off from the outside world and they were taught one-sided knowledge that boosted the RDA's image and tarnished the Na'vi's.
And then Grace's School failed, she to seemed to loose herself to her avatar, preferring her avatar body to her human,, but she never once tried to cover up her mistakes. And she tried to make things work.
Alma did nothing but cover up the truth until it couldn't be hidden anymore.
In the end, the fact that just one quest could make me feel like this and have me think about all this really shows that the story works.
So it's gameplay is a little too simular to Far Cry. Who cares? So long as the story has me feeling complex emotions like this, I will play it.
Even if the glitches get a little annoying, I still enjoy every bit of this game.
And I will post my full thoughts on the game once I've finished it.
Anyway, thanks for putting up with my train wreck of thoughts!

bri is ridiculously meticulous. someone who can put names to faces, projects to names, parts to wholes, and so on. this is why I always situate her in a corporate oversight position. In her cyberpunk verse, she has an augmented memory chip. In others, she’s tirelessly on top of reviewing and updating files with new information on projects and employees. her memory is really sharp.
basically, she knows what you did last quarter.

They're gonna make me go insane??? Varen and Nat I love you...
Reblogs appreciated <3
No matter how I draw Nat I always get some weird sense of catharsis out of it. I cannot explain why considering all he's doing is letting Varen sleep against him.
I struggle to find the right amount/value of grey's to use for this kinda stuff, and I think this palette is pretty good... I also really like the pen I used for the line art, it's one that you can't change the colour of so it's just always black which I find weirdly comforting?

Apocalyptic Myths And The Horrible Reality Of AI
Tumblr media
Isaac Asimov and Alan Turing influence the future of computer science in their own ways. Humans create myths, those legends create humanity. An infinite feedback loop of fiction and reality constructing one another.
A mythology of artificial super intelligence has dominated the conversation about AI since the 80s. Constant media coverage of AI as if it’s a dark and threatening abyss likely to usher in an apocalypse is impacting how AI is developed, clouding the discourse when people bring up real flaws in the current generation of AIs.
The AIs in existence today are far from Asimovian sci-fi super intelligence. Even the advanced AIs like ChatGPT, Neeva AI, and Bard AI aren’t generally intelligent. But wide adoption of the very sophisticated generative machine learning projects currently sucking up massive amounts of data, spinning, and regurgitating it will change humanity in ways we can never fully understand.
AI Conceptually
All machine learning is AI, but not all AI involves machine learning. Conceptually, a few simple conditional statements are an AI. At the Little Tikes: Babies First Ultron level, AIs are rule-based systems; a series of if/than statements that directly make decisions.
In the late 1940s, before the term AI was coined, Alan Turing and David Champernowne were creating conditional statements that could play chess against a human. The logic for a chess game is labyrinthian. Mathematician Claude Shannon calculated the lower bound of the game-tree complexity for chess as 1e+120 (1 followed by 120 zeros). Due to limitations of computers at the time, Turing and Champernowne’s first chess AI was played from physical paper much like a book called Tic Tac Tome lets a human play Tic-Tac-Toe against a physical book.1
The first brut force attempt at a chess AI was built with the goal of winning greatly simplifying the game tree. Even simplified it reportedly took upwards of 30 minutes for Turing to work through the strategy of each move from reams of paper. Ultimately the first chess AI failed to beat a human player.
The First Machine Learning
A few years after Turing’s game, in around 1957, the first true computer chess program was up and running. A team at IBM created a chess program, we will call BCP, that took a few more steps towards modern machine learning.2 According to a paper published in Scientific American, BCP worked without brute force programming.
BCP was programed with the rules of chess, such that neither the computer nor human player could cheat. After that the conditional logic involved the computer examining the state of the squares on the board, and seeking answers to eight questions. Those answers informed what subset of options BCP would analyze.
BCP was remarkable, but struggled to beat even a novice chess player. As computer hardware gained power, chess AIs have gotten faster and have become impossible for human’s to beat. The way AIs are programed progressed as well.
AI Black Box
The Advanced generative chat AIs we are seeing augment search engines are a black box to the public. Generative pre-trained transformers (GPT), like ChatGPT, are created using artificial neural networks (ANNs) trained via deep learning. ANNs structurally mimic how neurons in biological nervous systems operate creating a digital brain. Deep learning trains that digital brain with lots of data, like articles and images.
Look for an explanation of how ANNs work and find many articles referencing three or more layers of neurons; an input layer, one or more hidden layers, and an output layer. Most articles are seemingly recycling information that isn’t fully understood by the author, something humans and AIs have in common. Most humans could create a unique article about deep learning by finding a few existing articles on the topic, copying, pasting, and rewriting until they have something that appears new. As an imperfect analogy, that is how generative chat AIs work. The input layer is several articles on a given topic. The hidden layers are how the AI processes the information and generates its responses. The output layer is what the AI says.
The above is an incredible over simplification. for a more detailed but broadly accessible explanation of deep learning read this article on freeCodeCamp.
Everything Is A Remix
A child swinging a plastic lightsaber while birthing a fan fiction of Rogue One may never know the name Akira Kurosawa. But without Kurosawa’s 1957 film The Hidden Fortress, George Lucas may have been an accountant. Works build on each other, and sourcing fades away.
I first became aware of Kurosawa’s films in 2010 when I watched a series of mini documentaries titled Everything is a Remix. The series has been remastered and rereleased, (for a while it vanished from the internet), but the concepts stuck with me. Everything that exists has been influenced by other things that came prior; including human minds.
“I cannot remember the books I’ve read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.”
I nearly attributed the quote to Ralph Waldo Emerson, because many websites created over 100 years after his death in 1882 attribute the quote to him. According to Garson O’Toole’s quote investigator website Emerson may have said something along these lines, but no definitive source exists.
Had I misattributed the quote, someone could view this article as proof Emerson uttered those words. This is something I call source laundering; when a claim is repeated until finding the origins becomes challenging. Online, we see sources get laundered alarmingly quickly.
Source Laundering
A random Tweet is embedded on a blog, local media cites the blog, and national media cites local media. More articles popup citing the national media. Some outlets don’t offer any citations but repeat the fact as original reporting. Now thousands of sources exist and the fact that it all started from a single random Tweet is lost to time.
Advanced AIs trained from online articles are stating as facts things where the source is little more than a Tweet. Some people are already using generative text AI as arbiters for truth. Others are creating content entirely with AI. Futurism has broken stories of both CNET and Men’s Journal publishing articles generated by AI containing plagiarism and factual errors.
Soon that AI generated content will be used to train AIs which will in turn generate more content. As that pattern repeats exponentially information laundering is going to become an issue we cannot manage or understand. This is the Pandora’s box flung open by tech companies and publishers looking to make a quick buck.
The Information Era
Citations are already hard to find due to sheer volume of content. In 1450 there were about a hundred new books published; in 2009, there were more than a million. Those facts come from a song by Pomplamoose, Ben Folds, and Nick Hornby that I first heard in 2010.
It was 13 years later while writing this article that I first tried to find the source for those lyrics. I could not. Searching for sources was a lesson in how facts are lost, information evolves, and how AI is going to amplify these problems.
youtube
According to University of Minnesota Libraries, in Europe books were almost entirely hand scribed until the year 1500 but wood block printing began in Tang Dynasty China around 800 years earlier. By 1450 the barrier for printing was low enough in China that perhaps thousands of books were published, nearly all lost to time.
It’s certain that over a million books were published in 2009 but a single coherence citation alludes me. When I asked ChatGPT, the AI told me “According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), approximately 2.2 million new books were published worldwide in 2009.” This is not true!!! UNESCO published no such report in 2009!!!
Tumblr media
The pedigree of data for ChatGPT quoting that 2.2 million book figure is source laundering to an extreme.
AI Launders Information, Lies And Plagiarizes
ChatGPT plagiarized a blog post from January 2019 written by John Jennings. Jennings is a Forbes contributor, but this is published in a personal side project, The Interesting Fact of the Day Blog (The IFOD). For the record, I’m not attacking Jennings.
On the IFOD, Jennings wrote:
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) keeps track of books published by country. It estimates that 2.2 million new titles are published worldwide each year. It’s data is mainly from 2013. Here’s how it breaks down by country.:
Note how incredibly similar that statement is to the one ChatGPT gave me. But Jennings’ numbers are mainly for 2013, so ChatGPT made 2009 up. Jennings’ blog post is incorrect in attributing data to UNESCO.
High Tech Plagiarism Inherited Human Flaws
Jennings (or whatever primary source he cited) used Wikipedia’s Books published per country per year page for research. Based on the edit history, the last Wikipedia edit prior to his post is December 2018, that version said:
“This page lists the number of book titles published per country per year from various sources. According to UNESCO, this is an important index of the standard of living and education and of a country’s self-awareness.”
The Wikipedia page uses several data sources to establish the number of books published per year. A couple (1, 2) of Wikipedia’s citations do show some production numbers from UNESCO reports, but those reports do not extend past 1996.
UNESCO is not a source for book publishing data for 2013 in any of the 20 versions of the Wikipedia page I randomly checked. On that page UNESCO is primarily used to say the number of published books is an important metric of a country standard of living.
The Wikipedia page in December 2018 draws mainly from the International Publishers’ Association’s 2013-2014 report. Summing up publications for new books and reprints from that report shows 1,864,971 from 2013, or 4,131,389 if you look at all listed years.
2,210,000 is the sum of books published from the most recent available year in each of the 119 countries listed on the December 2018 version of the Books published per country per year Wikipedia page. Those years span from 1990 until 2017. ChatGPT told me UNESCO estimated 2.2 million books were printed in 2009, because a human misattributed a source, and the computer is a lying plagiarist.
Hidden Intellectual Property Infringement
The only reason I can trace a source for ChatGPT claiming that UNESCO published a report about new books in 2009, is because I can find only one article making the same incorrect claim. If ChatGPT were accurate, or many sources made the same wrong claim, it would have been harder to discover how ChatGPT got it’s information.
Several AIs that generate images from text prompts are currently the subjects of intellectual property litigation for the training data they used. This article is long enough without an explanation of deep learning, and several other types of machine learning for images. For purposes here it’s enough to say these AIs are trained by examining similarities and patterns between a huge volume of images. When the AI creates an image, that image is a remix of the training data, sometimes that image is even close to being a copy of a single image.
An AI’s creators may always be able to see what data contributed to generating a specific work. However, avoiding lawsuits and maintaining a competitive advantage leaves companies unlikely to share that information. Developers of these systems may even intentionally obfuscate sourcing.
The general public won’t get to work backwards from a known output, through hidden layers, all the way to the inputs. With more AI works generated by more machine learning models the volume of data becomes unmanageable. People who edit AI generated works passing them off as human creations will potentially remove any chance of reverse engineering to uncover which specific inputs created each work.
With rampant and unchecked copyright infringement we will see a feedback loop where AIs are trained by AI generated content. Instead of publishing outrage bait articles where an AI trained with science fiction answers hypothetical questions about how it will end humanity, perhaps we should be talking about how humanity is stepping on an AI rake.
Article by Mason Pelt of Push ROI. First published in MasonPelt.com on February 20, 2023. Photo by Sigmund on Unsplash
Tic-Tac-Toe is much less complex than chess, with at most 362,880 move combinations. Far fewer moves when you consider the rules of the game. Playing to win further reduces the possible game tree. At just over 1400 pages Tic Tac Tome allows a human to play Tic-Tac-Toe against a physical book.
This IBM chess program doesn’t seem to have a name. The development was lead by Alex Bernstein, and several chess websites call it The Bernstein Chess Program.

Pt 2. EXTRA Danny accidentally becomes the president
P2 extra: Danny becomes the president
Danny slept for ONLY a few days and when he woke up he was healed of all injury. Oh, and also, he wasn't in his room. NO, he was in a mansion, a FRUITLOOP type of mansion. A beautiful gothic inspired mansion that screamed "I AM ELEGANCE, I AM BEAUTY I AM MONEY" it was only when he one of the workers in the mansion came in did he get informed about what happened these last few days.
APPARENTLY this wasn't just a mansion, it was a WHITE HOUSE. Except it was panted like a black and green galaxy because everyone hates white now
And also he's the president.
A Fenton is either EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL or EXTREMELY UNSUCCESSFUL.
All he wanted to keep to protect his town from the GIW. But considering that fainted he was... unsuccessful? But that slight failure did help the amity parkers decide to help themselves and finally accept him as hero so maybe not??
He was happy that they accepted him and protected him but he really wasn't expecting this at all. Why in the world did they make him president??? He didn't think they liked him that much! Also! How is he president??? Amity park is just a random town in the middle of nowhere Illinois!
Wait...what??! WHAT DO YOU MEAN AMITY IS AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY???!! I WAS OUT FOR 3 DAYS! THEY HAVENT EVEN STARTED CLEANING UP YET HOW IN THE NAME OF THEY ANCIENTS DID WE GET DECLARED AS AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY????!
"I see..." Danny nodded after finally calming down. "So let me get this straight..." He counted on his fingers, "You," he looks at the woman in front of him "along side other people and ghosts, and mom and dad, and fright night, and Pandora...kidnapped the us president"
She nodded.
"Took him to UN headquarters, then Bribed, blackmailed, and harrased the UN members into declaring us a country"
.she nodded.
"Then declared me as king and president of amity"
She nodded.
"You know this new development is gonna attract the league of bitches right?"
"Oh we won't have to worry about that for now, but when they do then we'll be prepared." She smiled innocently.
Danny stared at her with tired eyes as he channeled his inner amity parker, the power to say well, I guess this is happening now. He sighed "Fine, but I can't be king and president at the same time. I can be king since you're all liminal, so technically all of amity is part of the whole ghost king territory." He sighed, "but I can't be president, too much responsibility, I'm already in charge of a whole ass realm"
So now they needed a new president, preferably some uncorrupt, someone who doesn't care much about the money and will always look for ways to improve the living standard, someone kind but not a push over.
Next day it was declared that.
MADDIE AND JACK FENTON, PRESIDENTS OF AMITY.
Danny was stunned when he saw the news. Did they seriously pick the resident mad scientists as president.
Don't get him wrong, he loves his parents and know that they're awesome but can they do this???
Turns out they can.
The president Drs Fenton's first move was healthcare for Both ghosts and humans and a free class dedicated to helping yourself.
Helping yourself classes include:
How to stitch your self up
How to use fudge as a weapon
How to fight the world most dangerous villains.
How to fight the worlds strongest heroes
Etch.
They launched some programs that might seem weird at first.
Programs like:
A defence class against sentient food.
Making friends with the realms
A school for the liminal
A class for avoiding the fae.
Using the blob ghosts as construction workers.
Etch
They might be weird but the end results turned out to be pretty usefull for the amity parkers.
At some point they decided to build a wall around the countrys property. It would ensure that only the amity parkers and people with permission would be able to enter/leave the town. There would be no gate and the only way out would be trough the portal system built by the Fenton's.
Danny thought it was too much
The amity parkers thought it was perfect, they didn't want anyone in their country, this was the kings haunt, this was their home and they would die and then come back as ghosts just to protect it.
And so the wall was raised..
Amity park continued to live in harmony and peace for many years...
-----
A couple of years later.
Flash had come across the wall.
And of course, alerted the league of bitches.
Batman was having a headache, no matter where he looked, no matter how many government systems he hacked, there was nothing. Not a single piece of info, not a single paper trail on what could possibly be whats behind the wall, and when it was built.
But it's impossible for something that big to just appear out of nowhere.
So the JL had suggested looking over Illinois via satellite, the wall didn't have a roof so they should be able to see the inside.
"What the heck" Oracle cursed as she looked at the camera. "Hey RR, look at this"
"what is it?" Red Robin walked closer, coffee mug in hand.
"Somethings interfering, I can't get a view of the wall at all" she took a sip of her own coffee as she tried hacking. Emphasis on TRIED.
The batcomputer was covered in static, then turned black. After that it flashed gold with a Egyptian like gold simbol and a message.
"NU UH"
" Get wrecked ".
Suddenly whoever was On the other side started hacking the batcomputer.
It turned into a nearly 24 hour, (Oracle: does this hacker not sleep??) battle of trying to keep the hacker away from their bat systems.
It only stopped when the hacker sent a message.
"Nice as this little war was, im getting bored so bye ( ╹▽╹ )"
Seizing the opportunity they tried to hack in. Only to be hit with a firewall and a virus.
--------
Life was good, life was stressful but it was good for Danny.
He thought to himself as he walked towards the wall that kept them safe.
Appearantly the clan of glorified furrys tried hacking them last night. Unfortunately for them not only was Tucker incredibly good at hacking, his liminality also gave him less need for sleep so he just kept messing with them until they were exhausted.
But this little occurrence made Danny think a bit. Now that the GIW was gone and the Anti ecto acts were basically burned without a trace , there was no need to hide. There was never a need to isolate their little country in the first place.
The amity parkers are free come and go whenever they want, the wall isn't here to keep them in, it's to keep the outsiders out. The rich familys often go out, they can't just disappear from society after all, but the other amity parkers, they don't. They haven't left at all, claiming that it was better for them here as they probably won't be accepted. Just because the Anti ecto laws are gone doesn't change the fact that liminals and ghost aren't recognized as species, they were closer to myths than metas and the world, (especially the league of bitches) werent like them, they were terrified of change. So they stayed in amity.
The people just wanted to feel safe for a while, lay low until they're sure that no one would hurt them any more. But they're stronger now, better than before and more ...magical.
Danny stops waking and looks back at the town. Liminals, ghost, blobs, and humans with ghostly features from the ecto walked, talked and played together. He grinned so what if the world would have a hard time accepting them? The worlds opinion doesn't matter, destroying it or fleeing to another dimension was always a choice and his people aren't the type to back down from a fight.
Yeah, It was time to reintroduce Amity to the world. He flipped the switch and the walls portal gate opened to Gotham.
Now then? They had a plan, his people suggested he take the lead in the plan and they will follow.
The plan? The plan was to become a head ache for Bruce Wayne, aka the The Furry knight.
Rich fruitloop with a plan to takeover the business world style.
_________
Tim is stressed not only is he stressed with the whole random Illinois wall situation he's also stressing out about this random Business man that appeared out of nowhere And is competing against WE!
Okay, maybe not competing but still!! It's only been two months, TWO MONTHS since this company appeared and it was already competing for one of the richest companys in America! How?????
So he tried looking into the owner. The owner looked like about his age! Looked like a fresh 18 year old but his file says he's 25, something about slow aging that runs in the family, maybe a meta gene? But theres no way he could build a billionaire company from scratch at only 25 so hes definitely born in a rich family. Daniel Fenton, his name, a perfectly normal name. Only issue is that, THERE ARE NO BILLIONAIRE FAMILIES NAMED FENTON!.
He looked deeper, he found an interview that said he was from a country called Amity when asked where it was, he gave coordinates. Not an address, not a continent, but COORDINATES. And Guess where the coordinates led?
THE FREAKING WALL OF ILLINOIS!!!!.
This man came from the wall! Well... Most likely INSIDE the wall. But from the wall nonetheless.
So he told Bruce, and what was the best way to get a business mans attention without being suspicious?

The Norm has a family revelation comes from the interview with Josh Izzo during OmatiCon.
So the lore right now (JC can still change it): - Norm's wife is Olangi and that's why Norm wears a lot of Olangi accessories. - They have 2 kids and one of them is Popiti (Tuk's best friend according to Visual Dictionary) and they are both supposed to be there when Norm plays the fiddle in High Ground comic. These two kids are his biological offspring not adopted.
Tumblr media
Maybe the person by Norm in this panel is his wife. Maybe the 2 kids in the front holding hands are Tuk and Popiti or maybe they are both Norm's kids. The art is not very detailed in this one so it's hard to tell if any of the kids has more fingers or eyebrows (even Jake is lacking eyebrows in wide shots). But this one is for sure one of Norm's kids and I think they look more Na'vi like.
Tumblr media
- Olangi were decimated during the Tree of Souls battle and the survivors joined with Omatikaya. They lived in their yurts set between the new Hometree and Hell's Gate before RDA came back. - There might be Norm/AVTR Program comics in the future about the time before coming to Pandora (with Tommy and applying to go) and/or the time between A1 and A2. I want this so much right now.
On the non-Norm news side
There was also talk about some other media stuff coming, international fandom experiences available and merchandise.
He talks how they supervise lore to make it consistent between different media but movies always are most important. This includes any mistakes in pronunciation or grammar (which actually makes Na'vi more like real language aa none are ever 100% consistent).
Quaritch's ikran is not named Cupcake. Stephen Lang gets to name it and Zoe Saldana gets to name Neytiri's new ikran. I wonder if other actors got to name theirs.
Here is it whole thing
