God, torches are just RUINING our natural sleep cycles. The sun goes down, and we go to sleep! That's how it's supposed to work! We weren't put here to sit around this newfangled "fire" and draw fuckin' wildebeests and shit on the cave walls. The dark is here. Go to sleep, so you won't get eaten by tigers tomorrow!
“phones are disrupting natural sleep cycles” I mean true but also bold of you to assume I had one before the tech boom lol catch me out here reading chapter books by the light of my light up pens in the third grade

What type of diet and/or exercise regimen would you recommend for a trans dude working to build a more muscular and masculine figure?
Different things work for different people, but personally I used Nerd Fitness, which was different 10 years ago when I started it, and personally I like the original NF better than the current one.
So here's a brief overview:
Bodyweight circuits for exercise. Do these about 3x per week. Look up videos on youtube for anything you don't know how to do:
Warm up by doing some active stretching that works every body part you plan to use during your workout. This can include arm circles, monster kicks, front bends, cat/cows, butt kicks, anything that stretches you with movement. Try to avoid a warm up that has you doing static stretching (stretching without moving the body part in question).
Then once you feel nice and warmed up,
5 Push ups (if you can't do a push up, do knee push ups or chair push ups, or wall push ups, and work your way up to standard push ups)
10 Squats (hold onto a chair for balance if you need to)
5 Sit ups (use an exercise ball if you need to)
5 Lunges each side (hold onto a chair if you need to)
10-Second plank (if you can't do a standard plank for 10 seconds, do a knee plank)
15 Jumping jacks
Take as long as you need to do these exercises, and pause for a break/go on to the next exercise if your form starts to slip. Try to keep breaks to less than a minute. It is better to do 5 wall push ups well than 1 standard push up badly.
If you haven't exercised in a while, try doing this 1x through for three times the first week, 2x through for three times the second week, and 3x through for three times the third week, and then start increasing the number of each exercise you are able to do for subsequent weeks. For example, try 7 push ups/12 squats/7 sit ups/etc... per circuit. Adjust to your needs and always strive to do a little more each week.
Once you're done with the workout part, cool down with static stretches of any muscle you used during the workout.
For diet, I did a modified paleo diet. The following is a good shopping list for 1 week (back in 2017 this was a $5/day shopping list, but it definitely costs more now).
Protein:
Eggs- 2 dozen
Meat- 2lbs of either chicken breast, stew meat, or sausage
Tuna: 2 cans, packed in water
Vegetables:
Sale veggie- 2 pkg
Cauliflower- 1 large
Broccoli- 1 bag
Stewed tomatoes- 2 cans
3lb Onions- (every other week)
3lb Sweet potatoes
10lb Russet potatoes- (once per month)
Fruits:
Sale fruit- 2 or 3 pkg
Canister Prunes or Raisins
Frozen fruit of choice
Nuts:
Whole raw almonds- 1pkg
Other:
Dark Chocolate- 1 large bar
Tea- 100 tea bags (once in a blue moon)
Instant Coffee- 120 cups worth (once in a blue moon)
Olive or sunflower seed oil- (once per month or so)
Salt- one large canister iodized or box kosher, (literally once per lifetime)
Condiments (I excepted these from paleo rules for my own sanity) mayo, ketchup, pickles, mustard, etc…- (once in a blue moon)
Dried spices- (once in a blue moon)
Vinegar of choice- (once per month or longer, depending on how much you like vinegar)
Bouillon cubes- (once in a blue moon)
Meal Prep Tips:
Boil most of the eggs, leave a couple for if you like fried eggs occasionally or want to make banana-egg pancakes. You can easily take boiled eggs in a lunchbox or eat them with prunes or raisins for a quick breakfast.
The prunes/raisins and almonds were and still are my go-to easy breakfast.
Grate the cauliflower- steam it with salt, oil and spices as a side later or mix it with the crumbled sausage for a 1-bowl meal
Cook the sweet potatoes and regular potatoes ahead of time. There are lots of ways to do this and they are all delicious. They are also easy to pack in a lunch box.
Hard veggies like carrots, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and broccoli are AMAZING when tossed in olive oil, salt, and spices and roasted or broiled.
Cook and pull the chicken (easiest in a pressure cooker but you can also boil the crap out of it too). Makes it super versatile. You can make like 10 different things with it and they will all feel different. No more plain chicken boob for you!
Stew with the stew meat, any veggies (including onions and potatoes) and spices will give you many easy future meals and can be made with just about anything you’ve got (throw the stewed tomatoes in this too).
Tuna salad (with oil and vinegar and spices if you’re really feeling paleo or mayo, onions and pickles if you’re me) and leftover roasted veggies make a great lunch.

Hey.. i hope you are good
tw: question about food. please skip it if you are uncomfortable.
.
.
.
i saw your post about ls being weird about food the other day. Could you please elaborate or explain what you mean.. because i think except the tk thing in ep2 last season didn't find anything like that. You can totally choose to not answer this or pass on to someone who would be more comfortable or educated to answer this. Thank you
[reference to my post here]
Hi! Thank you for the ask - I'm not uncomfortable answering it but I'm also not sure how eloquently I can explain it... so if anyone else feels they could explain it better, or has anything else to add, absolutely feel free to.
Basically, all the weird food stuff on lone star is pretty subtle (with the exception of episode 3.14 which was rife with fatphobic jokes that they tried to play off by having another character than chastise someone for making said joke. it was Not Good). It's a lot of vague references to diets or the way people eat. Throughout season 4 there are references to a "wedding diet"... in 4.01 TK asks if the food in the firehouse kitchen is paleo and Nancy says he can "eat a carb cause his wedding bod is on point" ... in 4.08 Owen refuses tacos that Carlos offers and says "Oh no, I can't eat tacos. I have a wedding to go to." ... in 4.09 Tommy brings donuts to the hospital and when Carlos asks the name of the place she says "Twiggys... which you won't be if you have a few of those. I hope no one's on a wedding diet." and Carlos says "No, not today. I'm starving."
They also made multiple comments about diet and eating in reference to Gabriel throughout the seasons... to the extent that I actually was very confident that he was going to have a heart attack in 4.17 and that was going to be the Gabriel plot... they had a scene between Andrea, Gabriel, and their daughter about how he could only have one of a food item at the dinner party in 4.17 because he wouldn't be able to "squeeze into his tux" later.
With the most recent one in 5.02, they were trying to portray that Tommy was stressed about what happened with Trevor so on top of her going on a TikTok rant and being a little snappy, they chose to show her “stress eating” the donuts in the beginning scene and have TK, Nancy, and Carlos look at her oddly as she’s eating the donuts (essentially judging her for the way she’s eating them and how many).
I think there's some more instances that I can't really remember right now, but these are what I'm referring to when I say 911LS can be weird about food sometimes. They're all comments that perpetuate the notion that you need to be thin to be healthy or look good and in order to be thin you need to heavily restrict your eating.
I wouldn't necessarily say any of these things are outright offensive, but if anyone is sensitive to discussions around eating habits, disordered eating, or food in general... it could definitely be triggering.
so yeah, I hope that explains what I meant by my comment! ... and have this relevant Paul gif? 😅😬

9 Things Not to Say to Someone With Anxiety
1. “Calm down.”
Telling someone to “calm down” has never, ever made it happen. Those words are not magic and definitely not helpful. If the person experiencing anxiety had the ability to calm down in that moment, they’d absolutely do it. To someone with anxiety, this all-too-common phrase is patronizing and annoying. What to do instead: Model calm. Talk gently. Slow your breathing to dispel your own rising anxiety. Try saying something like, “I’m here for you,” “I’m here to listen,” or “I’ll stay with you.”
2. “It’s not a big deal.”
Most people with anxiety know that some of their thoughts are irrational and out of proportion to the situation at hand, at least in their quiet, non-anxious moments. But when anxiety rears its head, it is huge. It is a big deal because it’s all-consuming. Telling someone in the middle of an anxiety (or panic) attack that whatever they’re worrying about is “not a big deal” minimizes their very real distress. Validating their feelings is a better response. Try something like, “I can see you’re really worried.”
3. “Why are you so anxious?”
Talk about an impossible question to answer! Sure, some people may occasionally be able to identify the source of their distress in a particular moment, but oftentimes, anxiety and panic attacks strike for no apparent reason. Also not helpful: Attempting to explain to someone why you think they have anxiety and what they should do about it. As one person with anxiety said, “In situations of severe anxiety or a panic attack, I don’t need that—I want someone to listen and be there. They don’t have to do or say anything.”
4. “I know how you feel.”
Unless you also have an anxiety disorder, you have no idea what it feels like to be crippled with anxiety; the butterflies and nerves you experience before a test or important work presentation are not the same. Sharing your experiences with anxiety with a friend in the midst of a panic attack is not helpful. One individual said, “Please don’t create a competition by telling me how your anxiety, or circumstance that caused your anxiety, is so much worse than mine. That doesn’t help.” Instead, say something like, “I’m always here for you.”
5. “Stop worrying.”
A close cousin of “calm down,” “stop worrying” is a completely unhelpful response. More than anything, the person with anxiety wants to stop worrying. But in the moment, worry is not exactly a conscious choice or under voluntary control. Instead, you can help the individual slow down and challenge their anxious thoughts. If a coworker is anxious about a big presentation and convinced she’ll fail, you can say, “It’s totally normal to feel stressed. But I know you’ve prepared and have given great presentations in the past.”
6. “Just breathe.”
Breathing exercises can alleviate anxiety, but they work best when first suggested or practiced during moments of calm. Someone who is already breathing more quickly or shallowly than usual may have a very difficult time shifting their breathing pattern while their mind is spinning. Instead of saying, “just breathe,” model deep breathing. Slow your own breath and breathe in deeply and slowly through the nose and out through gently pursed lips. Note: If the person with anxiety routinely uses breathing exercises to control their anxiety, reminding them to “breathe” may be helpful.
7. “Have you tried [fill in the blank]?”
CBD and essential oils are not a cure for anxiety. Neither is a paleo or gluten-free or vegetarian diet. Exercise, meditation and yoga help some people manage their anxiety, but they’re definitely not a cure-all. Remember: Anxiety is a very individual experience. What helps one person may not help another. Instead of making suggestions, try asking the person with anxiety, “What can I do to help you?” Most people who live with anxiety already know what works and what doesn’t work for them. During moments of calm (and if you are close with the person), you can ask about techniques they’ve tried or what works best for them.
8. “It’s all in your head.”
On some level, people who have anxiety disorders know the worry is ‘all in their head.’ But that doesn’t make their anxiety or fears any less real. Uttering this phrase dismisses their very real concerns and the impact anxiety is having on their lives. Instead, try helping individuals with anxiety connect with the physical world around them. Offer to walk with them. Help them find a quiet place. Turn on some music, if they’re open to it.
9. “Get over it.”
People don’t choose to have anxiety. It’s a health condition, just like diabetes, asthma, or high blood pressure. Telling someone to “get over it” is insensitive at best; at worst, it signals an unwillingness to help the individual deal with a chronic condition and the concern at hand. It’s much more helpful to show your support, even if you don’t truly understand the condition or what it feels like. Try saying something like, “This is tough, but we’ll get through it together.” Back that statement up with action: Stay with them as needed. Help them find treatment, if appropriate. Celebrate successes.

hi!! so sorry to know that you’re not feeling well ☹️☹️ if it helps could you tell me literally ANYTHING about max 😭😭 mundane minute details whatever you like ⭐️
Hi star!!
Honestly, tomorrow I shall be well again and collected, but tonight I'm giving myself the grace to lick my wounds and indulge into cheerful stuff.... such as torturing these ocs lol.
Alright some random facts for Max!
He loves being an only child
His father is a high functioning alcoholic. He's sober now, but they did hit a rough patch when Max was 12, when his parents divorced.
His mother is into aaaall that eat-pray-love bs. Does the weirdest diets, definitely tried her hand at keto and paleo, also that blood type one. Max suffered with this as a teenager, none of those were nice diets to his sensitive tummy.
He flunked at his senior year! Then got into Doveport's community college and to this day he's a high key defender of local education. Max still has friends among the college professors
Vince is right, Max's little condo does look like a cave. He's very focused on his job, he really could not care less about his living space.
He is SUPER into camping. Despite hating his mom's hippie ways, he's also very nature focused and he does trails and hikes during his free time. Doesn't like the gym or closed spaces.
Got arrested for arson during a protest against law enforcement once <3
Max and Luke are the same when it comes to the competitiveness. Sore loser extreme.
A Slut. This is a man who has dating apps downloaded in his phone and posts thirst traps on his insta (CLOSED FROM STUDENTS BTW)
Despite being a very cool teacher and vibing with his students, he doesn't let them in his personal life at all, as it should be.
You bet your ass this idiot has done tiktok dances his kids asked him to do. Put together songs so they could remember the periodic table. He loves teaching, he just really dislikes Parents.
His favorite flavor on anything is green apple.
He hates reading. Sorry, but I have enough bookworms 🙈🙈 (Vince, Luke, Leo, Jonah)

VOTE BERTHASAURA FOR DINOSAUR MARCH MADNESS 2023
Berthasaura is just *barely* losing @a-dinosaur-a-day‘s DMM poll and if the only remaining Noasaur loses to a friggin Spinosaur I might actually riot
A vote for Berthasaura is a vote for all Noasaurs, arguably the weirdest collection of non-avian theropods to ever exist. A vote for Berthasaura is, by extension, a vote for:
- Masiakasaurus “why are your teeth like that“ knopfleri of Prehistoric Planet fame, a genuíne Madagascan weirdo
-  Vespersaurus “only dinosaur that walks on one toe” paranaensis (yes that includes all birds), tragic second place of the previous round
- Limusaurus “are you sure that’s even a theropod” inextricabilis, which started out like normal little baby theropods before losing their teeth and becoming quasi-ornithomimid beaked herbivores, and its fellow Elaphrosaurines
- Noasaurids are also the closest relatives of Abelisaurs, which should be worth extra brownie points
And Berthasaura itself was no slouch either! In addition to being arguably The Most Ornithopod of any theropod (vote for wacky convergent evolution!), it evolved its toothlessness independently of the Elaphrosaurines, and was toothless its entire life! Friggin Noasaurs don’t even do toothlesness the same way twice apparently. Berthasaura also holds the distinction of being the second ever toothless non-ceolosaurian theropod to be described, and it had a nearly complete skeleton! Berthasaura was an ornithomimid before ornithomimids became cool (or even existed), an early-cretaceous throwback to Shuvosaurids, the first of a long line of weirdo theropods. Peak dinosaur, 9/10.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Ceratosuchops is what, a Baryonychine with a horn on its head? Boo, unoriginal, 4/10. The horn ain’t even that big. It’s only known from some fragments of a skull (again: compare to Berthasaura’s remarkably complete skeleton) and in all honesty I’m just tired of Spinosaurs at this point. I couldn’t even keep track of whatever Spinosaurus drama was happening back when I was deep in my early Covid paleo hyperfixation and I'm kinda scared to check in on it. Apologies to Darren Naish, but I’ve had a petty grudge against spotlight-stealing Spinosaurs since like the third post-2014 Spinosaurus paper and it sure as hell-herons ain’t going away now. Sure, Ceratosuchops was a heron-analogue with a cool name, but it’s not even a proper heron mimic. If you want some real convergent evolution, vote for Berthasaura.
Am I deliberately skimping on Baryonychine facts due to a petty grudge against the most famous member of the family? Yes definitely absolutely. They get enough attention as is. And what do they have that Noasaurs don’t? Weird teeth and an aquatic diet? See Masiakasaurus. Big fore-claws? See Noasaurus. Large size? Overrated, and Deltadromeus might be a Noasaur so they even have that covered. Sail-backs and a semiaquatic lifestyle? That’s Spinosaurus bias talking, vote for Bajadasaurus or Annakacygna instead. Spinosaurs may be fan-favorite weirdo dinosaurs, but I think that Noasaurs were objectively weirder and deserve to advance in the polls. Vote Berthasaura for a weirder, wackier theropod (and a way to unload that pent-up anti-Spinosaurus grudge, if you like)

It'll always be amusing to me that there was a big effort to get people to use the tag #palaeoblr instead of #paleoblr for Paleontology posts on this website because people didn't want to overlap with the Paleo diet community.
Y'know, the extensive Paleo diet community, who definitely have a huge presence here in Tumblr and haven't been completely consumed by Paleontology posts using #paleoblr anyways.

I always wondered what you think Arven does in his free time. Like sure he has mabosstif and he’s a great cook, but does he have other hobbies, would he be open to learning some of his friends or s/o’s?
It's tricky I think to write a fic based on s/o's hobbies for reader inserts, BUT fwiw i do think this sweet boy would be willing to give a lot of things a try.
In terms of hobbies he picks up, I think it's important to note that he decides in the story to pursue cooking full time as a career and to become a chef, so cooking becomes more than just a hobby to him.
I think he might try to pick up some tangential skills related to cooking and preparing healthy and tasty food, just on his own. So like, while I don't think he'd be one for fad diets in a sense of him going entirely Paleo or keto or whole30 or vegan or anything like that (especially not for health reasons), I think he'd have fun trying different recipes and sampling meals of different diet styles. Like he would never be an almond mom kinda guy, but I could definitely see him, say, trying keto for a few days just to say he's done it. I think he'd also become interested in the field of nutrition and science in that regard (which would give him a major respect for foods of all kinds!).
I think he could also probably become interested in gardening and growing his own herbs and vegetables.
But even then those hobbies are related to his work. He needs something away from that for himself to decompress.
Personally, I imagine he'd be privately interested in art and literature. He's in the humanities track at the academy, so I think this is something he probably chose for himself.
I don't think he'd be much of an artist or a writer, but I think he could appreciate and analyze elements, ya know? Like he can dig into a book of poetry. Or maybe he likes fantasy novels (cough like his parents liked the scarlet/violet book cough). I think he would be a neat person to go to an art museum with because he'd have opinions on the different pieces and could give thoughtful explanations on what he does or doesn't like about them.
But between the cooking, pokemon training, and all the camping/hiking/picnicking he does, I think any other hobbies he picks up would be fairly relaxed. Boy can't be going non-stop, ya know?

Recipes for Dove (and others, too)
Tumblr media
This is a small selection of recipes that I put together for @dove-da-birb. They are some of the recipes that I and my family use, mainly vegetarian, but also with a few non-vegetarian options. I tend to adapt these a bit when I make them, usually adding more of the seasonings and aromatics, but the recipes are a good basis to build off of.
The recipes are from The Ultimate Vegetarian Cookbook, The Paleo Diabetes Diet Solution, and a couple websites (which I've linked).
Recipe Websites I Often Use
The 1940s Experiment - A website containing a variety of recipes from 1940s Wartime Britain. They can be a little hit-or-miss, but I linked a few of my favourites below. They're definitely rather British in nature, so may or may not appeal. Many of the recipes are wither vegetarian, or have a vegetarian option.
Just One Cookbook - A HUGE collection of Japanese recipes, from mains, to sides, to desserts, to a whole lot of other dishes. There are a lot of recipes that I've enjoyed from here!
Sides and Starches
Tattie Scones (Tippitiwychett) - I LOVE this recipe. It's just a really good starch to have with a meal!
Mock Black Pudding (The 1940s Experiement) - One of the many "mock" foods of the era, this is a fried, seasoned oat patty. It's nice with either veggies and a protein for dinner, or with eggs and tomatoes for a savoury breakfast.
Lemon Garlic Pasta (Pinch and Swirl) - Just a nice, simple pasta recipe. I generally add some spinach towards the end of the cooking process to wilt a little, and it's also really tasty if made (significantly) spicier. Roasting the garlic beforehand also adds another layer of richness to the dish, but it's not necessary.
Mains (Vegetarian)
Mushroom risotto (Recipe Tin Eats) - I posted about this the other day, but it's a really rather nice recipe if you enjoy risotto and/or mushrooms :)
Mock Goose (the 1940s Experiment) - Not goose, but a baked lentil dish! It's surprisingly nice, especially topped with cheese in the last few minutes of baking.
Mock Crab (The 1940s Experiment) - Again, not crab, but a cheesy scrambled egg dish. It's nice on toast as a quick lunch, with some fresh veg as a side. I would definitely recommend using less margarine/butter, as it can get a bit too oily otherwise.
Masoor Dahl (Choosing Chia) - This is an alright basis for this recipe, but I usually add about double the amount of seasoning (if not more). It's a quick recipe, though, so it's nice in that way.
Tofu Katsu Curry (Okonomi Kitchen) - I'm a HUGE fan of curries, especially Japanese curries. This recipe, with breaded tofu cutlets, is a nice recipe, and I often use it. I usually just make triangles, rather than the "cutlet" shape suggested on the website, and I also make "family style" curry (as in this recipe). (Also, Okonomi Kitchen is another website with a lot of good vegetarian/vegan dishes!)
Curried Squash Soup - I don't remember what this exact recipe is like, but you can alter the seasoning to suit your tastes ^w^ (Using frozen, cubed squash is a really good option here!)
Tumblr media
Vegetarian Bolognese - You can use canned beans instead of dried, and though they won't have the bay leaf flavouring, it's a quicker way to make this sauce. I'd also recommend adding some heat, either with pepper flakes, fresh hot peppers, or canned chipotles.
Tumblr media
Roasted Ratatouille - You can of course just use normal diced tomatoes for this. It won't have the same smokiness, but it's still just as good!
Tumblr media
Mains (non-Vegetarian)
Greek-Style Turkey Burgers - My family makes these into meatballs, usually. They also need more seasoning than is called for in the recipe, by quite a bit. (Mint is also a nice addition to these!)
Tumblr media
Baked Haddock with Peppers and Tomatoes - This recipe is more me just putting the concept in this collection, of white fish baked in a chunky tomato sauce. It's always just a nice, simple meal to have, especially with some rice or wild rice.

Oh how about 🍄 for Duo?
DUO YES love him!! Thank u for the ask!!
🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?
Ohoho it's not often I get to talk about what a health nut Duo is! 99% of the time, Duo absolutely refuses to eat junk food or anything he deems 'garbage'. I'm talking basically a paleo style diet, with some modifications. However, even the pathologist is not immune to certain foods, and his weakness is baked goods, especially his favorite thing ever, chocolate croissants.
However, to keep up his image, he often eats them when people aren't looking, except maybe Octo. If he's feeling upset over anything, it's not uncommon for him to down a whole case of chocolate croissants. He often criticizes Octo for his poor diet, but he makes no move to stop him from eating what he wants cause he knows its a losing battle and because he knows his younger brother is allowed to eat what he wants.
As far as cooking, I wouldn't say Duo is the world's best cook, but he definitely knows how to cook many different dishes and basic things. He's the main cook and breadwinner in the house he shares with Octo, considering Octo can't even make mac n cheese without burning something. He tries to sprinkle in healthy eating, but he also knows he's gotta make dishes that Octo enjoys so he compromises a lot for dinner. He hardly ever bakes unless Octo asks for a cake or something and he knows he if bakes cookies or something he'll just eat them all, so he often refrains. This is why Octo has his own mini fridge in his room containing his favorite snacks, just to keep them out of Duo's reach and to not tempt him.

Ok but has TK ever had a happy satisfying nom nom time in this season thus far??
- no carbs
- paleo diet
- him on wedding diet eating…idk..packed seeds/nuts? What are those things even
- pathetic fruits on his plate among the nice pastries that Carlos prepared in that scene and he also didn’t end up eating any
- missed dinner because of “am I a hot mess?” and finance leaving the house to find his wife
- probably too sad and guilt ridden to eat anything else after that
- TK breakfast mood: 🎵 all by myself ~~ 🎵
- missed dinner again (HIS FAVOURITE CHINESE FOOD) because he’s too upset and *not hungry*
- probably (more like definitely) not eating much again after Carlos went missing
At least we got that that still of him happily eating from to go box after 4x04 (although I m not sure why Carlos is eating from the one with tk name written on it, Tk please finish your food 😠)
This is one of the things I hope to explore in one of my coda's - TK's lack of eating / his diet for the wedding. He looks good, he shouldn't be holding himself back. I kind of hope that they explore in the show more. I don't want it to be just a joke about diet culture and stuff.
It does go with my head canon of wondering if TK has / had an eating disorder before.

honestly, i really just think the paleo diet mention was simply just a callback to the fact that tk is, in fact, owen's son. if he doesn't take after owen's obsession with his own hair or skin care routine, he definitely takes after the diet thing. i'm saying never trust the writers to be mindful and sensitive towards a storyline like body image and i am praying to a god i dont believe in that they dont make that a thing
Yeah, I can see that being the case. The line from Nancy about his wedding bod and eating a carb was the bit I was more 👀👀 about. Unnecessary, I think personally… but it is what it is. I will join you in prayer 🙏🏻 bring in Tommy’s new boyfriend pastor to bless us.

Climate-Friendly diet tips: How to Eat to Help Save the Planet
Anenvironment friendly diet reveals a lot about the effects that our diets have on the environment. Meat consumption leads to increased GHG emissions thus the higher rates of climate change when practicing industrial agriculture. Yet, if we want to switch to a better and less damaging diet that benefits the climate, we can do so. Here are a few simple
Climate-Friendly diet tips:
Go Plant-Based
Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes which are principal components of vegan diets are definitely much eco-friendlier compared to a protein-worshiping paleo diet containing red meat, poultry and fish. Husbandry contributes immensely to greenhouse gases production especially through exercises such as cutting down forests as well as the emissions from cattle. Swapping red meat and dairy for more beans, lentils and other plant proteins could reduce your food emissions by up to 50 percent.
Tumblr media
Climate-Friendly diet tips
Eat Seasonally and Locally
If produce is imported through substantial use of air or road transport, then it translates to many tons of carbon emission. Further, they are cultivated out of season in heated greenhouses in which gargantuan amounts of energy power are utilized. However, just consume locally produced food to reduce the transportation distance and help local producers. It also means your food will be as fresh as it can be!
Cut Back on Food Waste
It is estimated that 40 percent of all food grown or processed in the United States is thrown away. This type of food waste contributes significantly to the emission of planet-warming methane gas which originates from decomposing foods in landfills. Choosing nutrients, portion control methods, using the second half of the leftovers in an interesting manner, and avoiding squandering food leftovers by proping them for composting are the useful methods.
Select everything that is organic and regenerative
Environment friendly diets are produced to ban the synthetic pesticides and fertilizers that result in emissions and environmental problems such as reduction in the standard of biology and soil quality. Ideally, buy your produce from farmers who engage in regenerative practices including growing of cover crops and minimum tillage, and crop rotation with a view of sequestering carbon.
We can all play our part in building environment friendly diet by making some conscious changes on how we choose our food, how we organize ourselves in the kitchen and how we go about preparing our meals. Essentially what is on our plates can define our future based on how well we take care of our environment today.

hello! I've been thinking about my life and my eating habits since I've been vegan for 10 years, and while I've definitely had moments where I've said "I probably have an eating disorder but it isn't like, put me in the hospital bad", I'm starting to think that maybe it was bad but I normalized myself to the experience? when I was 10 I developed anorexia and began to starve myself and avoid foods in order to lose weight, this was also around the time I was harrased and assaulted and I think it affected me so strongly because they seemed to like my body the most at that age; small and chubby.
throughout middle school, I had anorexic habits and if I felt I ate too much I would attempt to throw up. I never did and I think before I considered it kind of a failure on my part for not being able to. After maybe a year I changed my diet to he vegetarian, paleo, then Atkins, until switching to vegan because it meant I could refuse food without others commenting "what are you anorexic? how come you don't eat" and instead have an excuse by saying "well I'm vegan so I cant".
I've been vegan since then and do actively still intermittently fast and starve myself, I also keep my portions small out of habit but I think I'm okay now? I guess the whole thing was just on my mind because when I thought of myself eating at say a buffet I was disgusted. I associate enjoying food, and not like cafe food that's small and can be had with coffee but like a feast with sides and everything, to be disgusting and the highest form of gluttony for myself. If I allow myself to gain weight and indulge in hearty foods every single day then I feel I have no control over my life and I'll just become depressed again.
Majority of the time I will have one food I really enjoy and just have that for breakfast and dinner all throughout the week. And it needs to be the exact same when I make it, I need the food to look right otherwise I can't enjoy it. So, if i have a vegan croissant and coffee, I can't just have it randomly, it needs to be in the morning when I'm alone and while it's quiet. Otherwise it's gonna ruin my whole day if that morning breakfast isn't the right kind of peaceful. Or if I have vegan pizza and wine, it needs to be Margherita pizza and it needs to be at night preferably when it's quiet and a movie is on. Margherita pizza is simple and light and perfect with wine, if I have a meatlovers or bbq then I can't have wine because it doesn't suit the taste and it ruins the moment of dinner.
I guess I'm just thinking out loud really, but I'd appreciate any feedback or maybe thoughts? My therapist says if I'm good and healthy then it's okay, that not everyone eats a typical meal and that some people do intermittently fast. So, yeah! Thank you! 🥰
Hi nellie,
It sounds like you're very self-aware and have been able to identify what may have contributed to the development of your eating disorder, but that it has, for the most part, improved over time.
I admit I don't know much about eating disorders so please keep that in mind. I am not a professional of course and I don't believe that my thoughts necessarily supersede that of a professional such as a therapist (although not all therapists are correct). I can understand that not everyone eats consistently and that's okay, however it sounds like you've historically had a complicated relationship with food, and it seems that you have set specific rules that could potentially limit you when it comes to having balanced meals (referring to the food groups, but also in terms of adequate portions of meals per day). It also seems that you still have some trauma processing to do that, once you've processed fully, might shift your current relationship with food as well. So, while the current state of your relationship with food isn't nearly as unhealthy as it previously was, there is still room for improvement. Perhaps those are potential concerns to discuss with your therapist further.
If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please feel free to add on. Otherwise, I hope I could help and please let us know if you need anything.

This is what I believe a gentleman eats to
ensure optimal health and energy for his
lifestyle.
I would definitely recommend the Paleo diet for the ladies out there as well.
