P is for Philippine Airlines Philippine Airlines (PR/PAL) | Call Sign: Philippine | Strapline: The Heart of the Filipino | Fleet Size: 72 | Destinations: 62 | Hub: Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) Founded in 1935 as the Philippine Aerial Taxi Company, PAL was previously one of the largest airlines in Asia before the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis caused it to enter receivership in 1998, cutting routes, aircraft and thousands of the airline’s loyal staff. Since exiting receivership in 2007, the airline has focused on re-establishing itself as one of the key airlines in Asia and re-establishing services that it previously operated. In 1994 Philippine Airlines Flight 434 (operated by a Boeing 747-200) was targeted by al-Qaeda as a test run for the Bojinka Plot, killing 1 passenger and damaging vital control systems when a bomb exploded on board the aircraft. Had it been successful, the Bojinka Plot aimed to assassinate the Pope, blow up 11 airliners in flight between Asia and the USA and crash an aircraft into the CIA Headquarters in Virginia. #PhilippineAirlines #Philippines #Manila #MNL #Heathrow #LHR #EGLL #Boeing #BoeingLovers #Boeing777 #B777 #29Aviation #AvGeek #Aviation #Plane #Pilot #PlanePorn #MegaPlane #InstagramAviation #InstaPlane #AviationPhotography #Aviation4U #PlaneSpotter #Airline #Aircraft #Filipino #TheHeartOfTheFilipino #FlyPAL (at Heathrow Airport) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_P8fvMH_HL/?igshid=1i2l2j2l1884b

Parcel in good hands
I have quite a habit of ordering stuff in Lazada or Shopee, but what is really exciting is the sales. Yes, I ordered some stuff during the 7.7 sale yesterday, but I hope it arrives tomorrow, but luckily, an airplane model of mine arrived today in a very safe matter.
I ordered my Cebu Pacific (Old livery) A380 model for only Php. 285, but today it arrived at Php 267, due to the 7.7 sale ! Best of all, it arrived in a vehicle that I wished of hoping that someday my parcels will arrive riding one- a parcel cab !
This is the second time my order arrived in a 3-wheeled Piaggio Ape parcel cab driven by the boss of a Lazada distributing warehouse in our place. I was so happy that he arrived again to deliver my package, riding his awesome parcel cab.
I even gave him a tip of Php. 100, because my mother taught me that I should give delivery or courier people tip depends on what they handle me. Well, because it's also the courier man helped signal me and my mom when we got stuck near their warehouse in a small alley in Banaba, San Mateo (Our residence), 2 weeks ago. I also gave him another extra Php. 20 for his merienda.
Mr. Courier was so happy and thankful for giving him extra tip because I told him that he handled my parcel in good hands in his parcel cab , or some would call it a Lazada trike or three-wheeler since this is somehow a tricycle too. I wonder if he will deliver again here in ours for the third time ? I'll pray to God that it will happen again.
To show you what a parcel cab is, I secretly took a picture of it from a dog's eye view while it hurries back to deliver another package in our neighborhood. I believe he is so happy again to deliver in our house since I gave him a big tip the first time he handled my order from Toy World, which is my Type 03 Chu-SAM crane in April 13.
Good luck and God bless you, boss courier ! Hope you deliver again any package of mine with your sweet set o' wheels, but I also love it when you send some of your courier people to deliver in our gate. They are such responsible delivery people :)
Before he even arrived, I made sure that I have the exact amount for my payment. Kawawa naman kung buong Php. 1,000 bayarin ko sa kaniya, but I'd rather give exact, para hindi siya mahirapan.
I made sure last week that I will give the rider the exact amount, even though he has a lot of change.
Php 20 for his Skyflakes, Fita or monay and Pop-Cola (If it's still there), otherwise, Pepsi or Cobra.
I believe the riders who deliver here for us are so happy to receive tip, since Lazada and other online shopping sites encourage giving tip to the rider if you are very satisfied with their delivery service.
Now let me show you what bossing courier delivered to me- Wait. I just told you it's an A380 of Cebu Pacific.
ZOOM ! Here it is. An A380 model of Cebu Pacific that I ordered last Sunday. It was supposed to arrive yesterday, but due to delays, the seller apologized to me, but what's important is that it arrived, and it was really taken care of.
Beside my PAL B777, which I got last sunday.
Sometimes, our parcels arrive in 4-wheeled vehicles like mini vans, or once an SUV (Hyundai Tucson or Santa Fe), but usually couriers use their motorbikes, or some days, bicycle, a Japan-surplus bike, but I was so glad twice when my parcels arrived in a Piaggio parcel cab. It's as practical as a motorbike.

Philippine Airlines Launches New Brand Equity Campaign
Philippine Airlines is in the midst of its journey towards becoming the country’s five star full-service legacy carrier at par with the world’s largest carriers
Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the national flag carrier of the Philippines and Asia’s first airline. As PAL continues to strengthen its brand story of delivering heartfelt customer service, it launches a new Brand Equity campaign poised to win over foreign leisure travellers from international markets with the theme: “Experience the Heart of the Filipino“.
With a rich 76-year history, PAL boasts of many ‘firsts’ – including being the first airline in Southeast Asia to cross the Pacific on July 31, 1946, the first to operate to Europe via a DC-4 service to Rome and Madrid, and the first to introduce the world’s first fully-flat sky beds aboard the B747 jumbo jets, among many others.
Today, PAL has the largest fleet among other PH carriers with a total of 83 aircraft at present and is expecting delivery of two Boeing B777s within the year, six Airbus A350s starting June 2018, 21 Airbus A321NEOs starting first quarter 2018, and 10 more Q400 Next Generation turboprops. The airline will continue reconfiguring its Airbus A330s into tri-class layout.
PAL carried a total of 13.4 million passengers last year, a 12.6% uptick from 11.9 million passengers served in 2015.
5-Star by 2020
To reach this goal, it has embarked on both inflight and on-ground service enhancements together with the introduction of its distinct service philosophy “Heart of the Filipino” embodying the nation’s culture of warmth, care and trademark hospitality, that is now being recognised by the world.
Airline ratings firm Skytrax ranked PAL as “6th Most Improved Airline” in its most recent world airline awards, considered the ‘Oscars’ of the aviation industry. Industry online publication Smart Travel Asia also named PAL as the “4th Best Airline Worldwide in Cabin Service”.
This unique brand of hospitality that’s proactive and selfless, and a disposition and attitude that’s resilient and always cheerful, is what sets Philippine Airlines apart from its competition as the airline with #MoreHeart.

Air Canada to Operate Modified Dash 8-400 Aircraft for Cargo
Air Canada Cargo has signed an agreement with Jazz Aviation to operate the recently approved Dash 8-400 Simplified Package Freighter, developed by De Havilland Canada, on short and medium haul markets under the Air Canada Express banner. The reconfigured aircraft will carry a total of 17,960 lbs (8,147 kg) of cargo in the passenger cabin and belly. “The reconfiguration of Dash 8-400 aircraft into Simplified Package Freighters can be quickly achieved by the removal of seats and seat track covers in the passenger cabin,” said Todd Young, Chief Operating Officer, De Havilland Canada. “The reconfiguration, which includes the use of up to 17 nets will provide a potential total payload of up to 17,960 lb. and a total cargo volume of up to 1,150 cubic feet per aircraft.”
Under an agreement with De Havilland Canada, Jazz Aviation has ordered a Service Bulletin and conversion kit that will be applied to the first of 13 select Dash 8-400 aircraft. De Havilland Canada will be the exclusive supplier of all future Dash 8-400 aircraft Simplified Package Freighter modifications for Jazz's fleet. "This aircraft will allow us to provide critical cargo lift on short and medium-haul routes that have been impacted by the reduction of passenger flights," said Tim Strauss, Vice-President Air Canada Cargo. "The converted cabin, which can accommodate a cargo volume of 1,150 cubic feet is perfectly suited to loose load cargo like medical supplies, PPE and other goods needed to support the ongoing fight against COVID19." To promote the cargo-only flights, Air Canada Cargo has created five, segment-specific sales teams. Thai AirAsia to Resume Domestic Flights on 1 May 2020
Thai AirAsia (FD) is to resume domestic operations on 1 May 2020. The airline plans to initially operate the following routes: Don Mueang to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Panom, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Roi-Et, Surat Thani, Trang, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, as well as Chiang Mai - Hat Yai. Crew and passengers will need to abide by strict health controls in compliance with regulations set by the Ministry of Public Health and Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. Measures include include:
- The airline will only sell a limited number of seats on every flight in accordance with social distancing measures. - Social distancing will also be enforced on the shuttle bus as well as at the service counters. - Passengers will be required to wear their own face masks throughout their journey including during check-in and baggage claim. - Strictly no consumption of food and beverage onboard. AirAsia’s meals service has also be temporarily suspended. - Passengers are to be screened in accordance with airport regulations, including a body temperature scan during boarding. Passengers with a body temperature above 37.3 Celsius, or exhibiting symptoms including sneezing or coughing, will be denied travel. - Only one bag such as a laptop bag or a ladies’ handbag or a small bag weighing no more than 5 kilograms will be permitted as carry-on baggage per person. The size must not exceed the dimension of 40cm (H) x 30cm (W) X 10 cm (D) and fit under the seat in front of the passenger. For other additional baggage within allowed 7 kilograms will be checked-in at no additional cost. The reason for this is to try and facilitate social distancing especially during embarkation and disembarkation. - Guests are recommended to perform self check-in via the AirAsia mobile app or kiosks at the airport to reduce personal contact. In addition, the cabin crew and other operational staff performing duties on the flight will have their body temperature checked before and after duty. They must also wear PPE such as masks, goggles and gloves throughout service. AirAsia will disinfect its airplanes, shuttle buses, service counters and check-in kiosks on a daily basis. All AirAsia aircraft are fitted with hospital-grade HEPA Filters that protect against 99.999% of particles and airborne contaminants such as viruses and bacteria.
