1. Inspire Yourself ❁

Inspiring yourself is more than just reading a few tumblr quotes or finding things that make you happy. Motivate yourself by taking the little steps to make you a better person. One of my favourites is keeping a running list of what makes you smile! Writing this stuff down can make you feel empowered and ready for any challenge. You can also just take 20 seconds out of your morning to think about what you want to achieve today and how you're going to do it. When you go to sleep, reflect and see if you got a little bit closer to reaching your goal.

2. Make Yourself Organised 🗝

I know that when people here this one they brush it off without truly considering it because it takes such a massive amount of effort. But it really does help!

Cleaning your room, desk or house will clear your mind and give you a clean view of your priorities and goals. Getting rid of the things that distract you limits the interruptions and excuses from you not getting any task done.

The first step to start being organised is to make a to-do list. When you find things you need done, adding it to the list and having the strong desire to check it off can motivate you to get it done.

You can also create a place in your room or house where you’ll always put your keys, wallet, pocket change, books and binder or folder you need for school or class, and anything else you always want to have with you.

Make a habit of putting your things there as soon as you come home, and picking them up from there as you leave.

3. Treat Yourself Once A Week ♡

Yes, you heard me... TREAT YOURSELF!! Making yourself relaxed and soothed is super super important! Whether it's soaking in the bathtub - where you can use some bath bombs, salts or oils: and don't forget the bubbles and scented candles you can use while your in there!

Drinking a steaming hot chocolate Or any other drink you adore, can also help you de-stress!

Some other ways to treat your self includes reading a book; a way you can fill your mind with imagination by entering a different world. You can also try a face mask! This is literally one if my favorite things to do, you can try some really cool ones you can get at Sephora or any skincare store.

One of the most challenging yet refreshing ones is to apply for a yoga class! Haha, I personally been wanting to try this one out for myself lol! Stretching your body not only strengthens it but also makes you nice and fresh.

Last but definitely not least.... give into your sweet tooth! This is one that I enjoy the most ;) Buying your favorite candies once in a while lets you feel like you have something you can look forward too! I would recommend eating lollies after doing something good like studying for an hour or doing chores around the house, if you don't already. Doing these things are always really beneficial not only to your mental health but also physical when you are more energized.

4. Random Acts Of Kindness (RAK) ♕

So, basically RAK is where you spend just a few second out of your day to do something thoughtful for somebody else.

It can be something as simple as smiling at them and even giving them a compliment like saying how much you like their hairstyle or outfit.

Doing things like sharing a piece of gum, lending a necklace, even offering if they would like to sit with you at lunch can make their day.

Ones that I find really make a difference is taking at least 5 minutes to send a postcard or letter to a sick child who is suffering from a serious disease or sickness and could really use a piece of encouragement and motivation.

And, saving my favorite one for last, establish a... CUPCAKE DAY! Ok, so I know this sounds totally crazy and it sounds like I've lost my mind but the idea is that once or twice a week on a particular day one person from your group brings in a tray of cupcakes! So, I know it's a pretty stupid idea when you hear it but you could do one for each of your closest friends, decorating them with icing that shows their personality. An example would be if they're really optimistic you could decorate it with bright and sunny colors like orange and yellow. Or if they're really into... let's say, Harry Potter you could decorate their cupcake icing a wand into their cupcake.

I think this is a good idea because it would show how much you appreciate your friends and how grateful you are to have them :)

5. Keep Yourself Clean And Refreshed ❤︎

Keeping yourself clean and refreshed is a major key point to have a healthy lifestyle.

Being clean doesn't necessarily always mean using the harshest cleanser possible. Use a soap that's good for your skin type and doesn't dry it out too much. Choose a body wash or bar soap that's gentle enough for everyday use. Particularly one that smells really good! c:

While taking a shower most days is recommended, you may want to wash your hair less often. Washing your hair every day can dry it out and ultimately damage it, since it strips your hair's natural oils. To stay fresh on the days when you don't wash your hair, consider using a little dry shampoo. It's a powder that absorbs oil and makes your hair look absolutely amazing!

A really good tip that I use is that before you go to sleep, braid your hair into a plait/plaits. Once you wake up your hair will be curly, shiny and smooth (once you brush it) and look just that little bit better!

6. Exercise ☪︎

Yes! Exercising can mean doing a light run around your block or working out at the gym, or doing push-ups till you feel exhausted! When you are working out, if it's for getting the perfect body or simply for fun, exercising is the perfect way to get healthy.

Light easy exercises include: cycling - ride your bike around your neighborhood! It gets your leg muscles moving and boosts up your energy. Cycling is something that is easy to do and you don't even need to buy any equipment! (that is, assuming you already have a bike lol). Next is swimming - ditch your phone or laptop and get into a pool! Just doing a few laps in a pool has many benefits as it strengthens your shoulders and improves your lung function. Lucky last is hiking! Taking a bush walk gives you the beautiful view of nature and lets you take a break from social media and the internet.

7. Draw Or Paint Something! ☯︎

If you find you have a hobby in drawing and painting, go ahead! Draw until your hand hurts! Paint until you run out of colors!

When you draw/paint you express your feelings and let out all of your emotions leaving you feeling free and with a clear headspace.

What we think when we talk about renaissance? Probably we think about three main artist, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello and Michelangelo. I would argue that we had much more painters and architect than those three, but for the sake of this post i won't.

Michelangelo for all his life considered himself a scultor and not a painter.

In fact the roof of the sixtine chapel is his first known affresco we know for sure he did. Because Michelangelo never signed his work, except for the Pietà, now located in San Pietro, Vatican city, but this is another story for another day. So when Pope Giulio II asked Michelangelo to paint an entire chapel roof he didn't want to do it, lucklily for us he did it. What the pope asked was to paint the the ante legem humanity, from the creation of the world to the birth of Christ. And he did, he paintend human, after human, after man, after woman, and in one of the central lunettes we have one of the most iconic affrescos of all time, the creation of Adam.

He realize this moment with such semplicity and impact that nobody before him did. Adam is leaning on the ground, with such beauty and dignity, God is approching him, supported by angels, all around him a cloak like a sail, that should rappresent the semplicity and the rapidity on how god moves effortlessy. Without even touching the first man he can give life. The centerpiece is the hands, and the idea of divinity and of omnipotence in the naturalness and strength of the gesture.

the process of a recent study i did of Yennefer

unfortunately, a few steps are missing since i painted on a single layer (exept for the face, which i paintend on… two layers!)

also, it was supposed to be a quick 15 min study, but i guess being an aries i have no impulse control so i ended up painting for four hours straight and now my hand hurts. yaaay!

Made Alya’s pants this afternoon, after a rush of inspiration. I think they look pretty similar to the original and go well with the shirt. As usual I haven’t put any shadow map cause it’s causing more issues than anything, I’m sorry (I’m also sorry I haven’t made a collage for it).

It’s hand paintend and I hope I didn’t forget any seam. Since in the show I don’t recall her showing the top of the pants, as I did for Gabriel I had to imagine it. I decided to go with leggings/jeans to follow the brim of the “ankles” in terms of texture, then added a simple button the same color of the seams.

In retrospect, Mousesack should probably have gotten a little suspicious when Jaskier started spending more time than usual outside of the bar. It’s not that he monitors the kid or anything, but he doesn’t exactly do all that much outside of his job at the local flower shop and window-shopping with Essi yet, so it’s easy to notice when he starts being absent more often. Still, Mousesack assumed Jaskier was making new friends and left him be, confident he’d hear about these new people in time. Besides, they’d already made plans for celebrations: just a quiet lunch with Eist, Jaskier, Essi, Calanthe and Pavetta on the actual day of his birthday at his favorite restaurant where they make a killer carrot cake, and then an early night because Priscilla volunteered to take his shift for the occasion.

All in all, he can probably be forgiven for not realizing right away on Saturday evening either. It’s often crowded in there, and there’s a problem with the fridge that forces him to stay on all four in the kitchen for a ridiculous amount of time. Sure, Tissaia coming in is unusual but it’s not entirely unheard of either; and it makes sense that Istredd, on a break from his studies abroad in Nazair, would want a chance to catch up with friends. Overall, Mousesack doesn't realize there's mischief afoot until Vesemir walks into the door and Jaskier, already in full Frank N. Furter getup, hurries to usher him back outside, Essi running after them in half a Columbia costume. Both Jaskier and Essi are dramatic things that usually insist on "preserving the magic" until they find someone attractive enough to question their positions—the artistic ones that is—so it’s impossible not to raise an eyebrow when they both decide to toss that out the window at the same time.

He’s pondering the possibilities when Eist makes his own hurried entrance with Calanthe in tow, which has the merit of making Mousesack almost choke on his saliva. Calanthe is…fairly equal to herself, all things considered. She criticizes just about every aspect of the bar and the patrons save their actual sexualities, but she does acknowledge that there is something, quote, “pleasantly wild” about watching Essi, Jaskier and the rest of the cast reenact The Rocky Horror Picture Show in front of a muted screen.

“That’s not traditional by the way,” Eist says right before the start of the bedroom scene, he and Calanthe pressed together at the far end of the bar while Mousesack makes drinks for what feels like half of Cintra. “Usually people lip-sync to the movie, but some assholes came in to cut the sound last month, and the boy just…kept going.”

“I’m pretty sure he also helped the others with their lines,” Mousesack says, incapable of not smiling at the memory.

There wasn’t that much he needed to help them with: most of the cast members have been doing rocky every month à Mouse’s for upwards of three years, but not being prepared for it plays hell on someone’s nerves and Jaskier somehow single-handedly managed to make it so there was barely even a hitch in that particular performance. It wasn’t the first time he surprised them that way, but certainly the most noticeable, and more than one person came to congratulate Mousesack about his new actor afterwards.

“That was a fun night,” Eist agrees with a chuckle. “I like the energy of it.”

Calanthe looks up to the stage, where Jaskier is pretending to pressure Marcos into sex with a lot of flailing limbs, and shrugs with a snort.

“It’s certainly irreverent, to say the least.”

“You do the lecture?” Eist asks as he takes his drink from Mousesack, “or should I do the honor?”

“Please feel free,” Mousesack says, and turns to the next customer.

It’s not that he can’t give the lecture about Rocky and what it meant to him and the rest of his queer friends when it first came out, but Eist is just as attached to the thing and tends to have more of an impact on people by virtue of being cis, straight, and enough of a rich jock that most people don’t think of questioning his words. It’s just more efficient to let him do it, especially where Calanthe is concerned.

Mousesack leaves them to it, busying himself with serving the few stragglers who don’t sit back down for the rest of the movie, and doesn’t pay attention to what’s happening onstage until the paper-mâché radio tower has been lowered on stage and Jaskier sings:

“Give yourself over to being a year older

Swim the warm waters of middle-agedness

Family drama beyond any measure

And a bunch of friends to treasure forever

Can’t your just see it. Whoa ho ho !

Don’t dream it, be it

Don’t dream it, do it

Don’t dream it, just sing it!”

There’s an explosive noise as the glitter normally reserved for the bi-monthly drag shows flows from the ceiling, and then everyone in the bar bursts into a terribly out-of-tune rendition of “Happy Birthday”.

“Oh, fuck you all,” Mousesack mumbles, making some of the people closest to him laugh.

Then he has to put a hand on his mouth to keep himself from making a more embarrassing sound. Everyone is smiling, and singing, and clapping—there’s a couple of wolf whistle even—and it’s extravagant and over the top and unnecessary, but that doesn’t mean it’s not making Mousesack’s heart ready to burst anyway. There’s a commotion to his left, a few surprised shouts, and before he knows it Mousesack’s feet are off the ground, Eist’s arms around his waist and his mouth on his cheek in a ridiculous smooch.

“No crying!” Eist yells over the crowd finishing the last verse, “you’ll ruin your eyeliner!”

“Oh, shut up!” Mousesack retorts, twisting as he’s lowered to the ground so he can return Eist’s embrace properly.

He stays in his friend’s arms longer than he normally does, hiding his face in his shoulder just long enough for the worst of the tears to pass—and also to make sure he’ll get a lovely gold stain on his jumper—before he plants a loud kiss on Eist’s cheek.

“Thank you,” he manages, defeaned to the still ongoing applause, but Eist shakes his head.

“Don’t thank me too much, your kid’s the one who did most of the organizing.”

Mousesack follows Eist’s nod only to find Jaskier slipping behind the bar. He’s got just enough time to twist away from Eist and open his arms before Jaskier is pressing his face full of makeup into his t-shirt, arms wound tight around Mousesack’s chest. Mousesack replies in kind, hugging Jaskier until he’s surprised the kid can even breathe.

“Do you like it?” Jaskier asks, face still hidden away in an uncharacteristic bout of shyness.

“I love it,” Mousesack says, pausing to pull his tongue out at the few jokester aw-ing around them. Then, because the crowd looks like it’s expecting something like that, he repeats, louder: “I love it! Thank you so much, everyone, for coming together to celebrate this old coot! I mean, not to ruin the mood but it’s always nice to be reminded I’m not going to be alone for the rest of my days.”

He nods towards the door with his paintend flags, and pauses while the crowd cheers, Eist coming up behind him to hug his shoulders, one hand reaching around Mousesack to mess with Jaskier’s hair. Mousesack laughs.

“Seriously though, thank you all for being here, thank to this old fart—” (“Fuck you!” Eist yells in his ears without moving away from him.) “—for staying around for the past thirty-two years, and thanks to Jaskier for being the best son I could have wished for.”

“Shut up!” Jaskier pipes up, muffled, from where he’s still hiding against Mousesack’s chest. His voice sounds heavy and strangled, and so it’s no surprise when he adds: “I’m already crying!”

Mousesack laughs again, throat just as thick with emotion, and bends to kiss the top of Jaskier’s head. He’s not done crying by far, but he does manage to keep in in long enough for Vesemir and Priscilla to bring the giant cake up to the bard, and then blow nearly all the candles in one go.

No one but Eist makes fun of him for it, which is about as good as he’d have hoped for, and Jaskier ends up blowing the two that are left. Then, after they’ve posed for a couple of pictures and started handing slices around, Mousesack yells:

“Alright everyone, back to partying now, I’ll be making the rounds when I’m less of an emotional mess!”

There’s a chorus of laughter but the crowd complies, and Mousesack only waves at Tissaia before he turns back to Eist and Jaskier. He’s trying to figure out how to say “thank you” again without growing repetitive, but before he can start Jaskier asks:

“You really like it?”

“Yes,” Mousesack promises, ruffling Jaskier’s hair. “It’s awesome—but we are still going for dinner on Tuesday.”

“Of course!” Jaskier replies.

Mousesack grins, and doesn’t protest when Eist and Jaskier move in to kiss his cheeks at the same time.

Rakdos was fun to pull together. There’s a lovely spread from actually horrifying to honestly a bit silly, and i think that fits best for whatever “vibe” you want at a time. Plus a lot of the minis can be free handed and have minor alterations made to have some more... unsettling details.

Okay, I’m not quite sure if I have caught well what you’re asking me or not… So, hope these are okay!

Xemnas

─ When he notices that you have a sketchbook and pass the time drawing most of the Organization members. he frozes: he doesn’t know what to think;

─ Indeed he would like to see a sketch of him from your hands…but he can’t show that, especially in front of you;

─ So he will not make you any questions: you know, he cares about the facade.

Xigbar

─ When he discovers that you have a sketchbook and started to draw the Organization members, he will be immediately excited;

─ And when he wants something, most of the time—if not always—he gains it. That is the point where his contorted mind thinks of the perfect picture of him made from you;

─ So he’ll pratically force you to portray him.

Xaldin

─ He recently had found your sketchbook, and when he’d seen your drawings about most of his “companions”, he reacted with a surprised expression;

─ It’s when an idea come into his mind;

Scrolling r/delusionalartists for entertainment value and whatnot, but it often ends up just depressing me more.

If someone has doodled something on a napkin and ask 6k out of it, that’s hilarious. But a lot of it is just art that obviously is amateus and is asking around 40 to 60 dollars.

I get you wouldn’t, but often these things are paintend on real canvas with real paints on real time. Regardless of the seeming “quality” you can’t go lower than that, cos when selling you’d at least need to cover the cost and not take damage on it.

I’m on he opinion that maybe amateur indeed should put up high prices - when you’re not yet financially depended on or doing it for to survive you can put up the baseline. It’s way harder to up the price when you a bit better, when people actually become interested, as you’ve put yourself in a pit where you can’t cover the losses.

Penitent Magdalen with two flames, Georges DeLaTours (unknown date but could be around 1640 ca)

I might start a series about penitent magdalen, and i'm not sorry about that

The characteristic themes of his first production where often popular, with attention to marginalized or mundane figures and action. In his senior years his themes changed, he prefered painting about human sufference and faith through semple forms and figures, essential expression and formal purity.

During a window of 5-10 years Georges De LaTour paintend a series of Penitent Magdalen, this is the first of the series. This paintins is inspired by the lights, and shadows of Caravaggios production.

We are in front of a young woman, looking at a candle with a high flame refletcing into a beutiful Baroque style mirror, some jewelry clatters the table. The woman is wearing a nice white shirt and a red long skirt, that almost remember the red drapes caravaggio used in his painting. In her lap she has a skull, and her hands are clasped on it. On her feet a still life of old jewelry. We don't see the face of the woman, she is looking almost behind the mirror into the darkness, unknown to us spectators.

From what we see we can understand what this painting is about, knowing that DeLaTours themes where the trancience of things and the looming death on us. We see on her lap a skull, the meanings behind it are multiple, she was a follower of Jesus and the skull could meant the golgota (the hill where jesus was crixified) so we can understand that this particular moment in wich we see Magdalen is after the death of jesus. But the skull is also the death, as humans we need to be aware about it.

Clothes are very important, we see that Magdalen has expensive clothes, shes a courtesan, not just any peasant, probably she was the woman of someone important. the red of the skirt symbolizes her past as a free woman, slave of lust, her open shirt is a reference to this life, the hair left loose indicates both the libertine past and the anointing and drying of Christ's feet. But the legends says that after she never cut her hair again.

The jewels scattered all around, however, indicate that Maddalene has now stripped herself of her old life to follow the faith leaving the jewels ment leaving the material goods and her previus life.

Finally the candle that reflects in the mirror, usually the flames represent god and therefore it can be assumed that he is meditating and contemplating god and that he is present with her, the fact that the light is reflected could mean three things: the candle also symbolizes the passage of time and therefore the arrival of death, but it could also symbolize the death and resurrection of Christ since there are two candles because he died twice, or his newfound faith in God.

The mirror indicates magdalen vanity.
