The kiddos and I got mini pumpkins to paint while on our mini vacation. I painted the one with the Siouxsie Sioux eyes, natch. I also painted a rock to look like a piece of candy corn, because I'd found a perfectly shaped one the day before at the state park.

The spooky resurgence of Dice of the Day (just for today)

Got a Halloween one-shot in about ten minutes, so I pulled out the Halloween dice I painted myself a few years ago and wanna show them off!

You can see they're already starting to fade a bit around the corners.

The d4 is a piece of candy corn.

For the d6, I took the concept of 'snake eyes' literally and did a snake/monster theme. It's easily one of my favorites in the set, especially how painting around the eyes made it kind of textured.

The d8 is supposed to be bats stretched across the corner so one wing is one number and the other is the other number. It didn't really work in practice, but at least it sort of evokes the bat symbol?

The d10s were the last ones I did, and I settled for a simple idea. The color is literally called 'yellowed bone,' and tried to evoke an image of vampire teeth. If I felt more confident I'd've painted on some blood stains, but alas.

I don't remember where I saw the idea for a jack-o-lantern d12 - possibly reddit? - but it was the inspiration to do the whole set, and of course I stole the jack-o-lantern idea.

And of course, the big boss on campus, the d20, themed as a spider web. The coloring was inspired by Muffet's whole motif in Undertale, and the 20 side is a cute cartoony spider, while the 1 is a fly. (That was a friend's idea!)
