The more I watch Alleluia, the less sympathy I have for June/The Painted Doll because she was warned multiple times not to stick her nose into things she had no business getting into, but again, she was warned several times. Her being beaten and cast down into hell was excessive as hell but she knew that there were indeed, consequences and brought it on herself and thought that because The Agent was courting her, she'd get away with it.

The team went through many ideas for Emilie's character before landing on her being a doll, such as the idea of her being an arsonist with burnt skin showing. Emilie also had a rule that the Painted Doll was not allowed to be dressed in any black.
