Completely obsessed on how Pai dropped her entire purse at the hands of a stranger, to get a motorcycle just so she could make her ship canon. What a queen.

Last week it was the music in the first scene that was purposefully reminiscent of the Japanese original, this week there's the first few notes of the music that the first episode of Moonlight Chicken opens with playing when Kongdech reminds Heng of the chicken rice seller.

I'm tipping my hat at the editors and music people for this show.

To hold her hands, so that you can together traverse the pathways of life, to smile together and together taste some of the sweet and the bitter fruits of being, to try new flavors, to meet different people, to travel.

To hold her hands, when she's ill and when she's sad, when she's happy and full of optimism, when she needs you and does not, and thus, together continue to venture through the shadowlands of space and time, through sunny valleys, rivers wild and emotional peaks and deep ravines. Cherry Magic Thailand Episode 2

That was just…absolutely perfect execution of the Kings game, the forehead kiss, and the aftermath on the rooftop. Tay Tawan, the man that you are!

There were two really important choices made for this adaptation that are informing everything:

Achi is emotionally self aware and able to process his feelings well

Karan is not particularly restrained in his emotions and has clear sexual intent for Achi

These characterizations for them fit with the Thai bl style better, and they also lend them both a lot of humanity and make it easy for us to empathize with them. I was so proud of Achi for talking himself through his reactions to Karan and making decisions about how he wanted to show up with him; I was also gratified to see that while Karan is respectful and polite he is not holding himself back from trying to woo Achi and make his intentions known.

There were so many small touches here that added to the existing canon. The embroidered doodle of the mole on Achi’s pajamas (Karan you absolute nerd), the eye mask, the matching couple ties, the explicit invitation for dinner alone, the clear disappointment when they ended up roped into a company dinner instead, Karan moving right up into Achi’s space when he got the green light. They’re not changing the story, really, just enhancing it with a lens toward a deeper development of the romantic relationship than we got in the much shorter jbl series. I really really love what they’re doing with this show and I grow ever more hopeful that they’ll get to explore some of the facets of this relationship that the Japanese live action did not have time to address.
