"SUSPECTS ARE RELEASED," Montreal Gazette. June 1, 1933. Page 4. ---- Youths Believed to Be Wandering Montreal Boys ---- (Special to The Gazette.) St. Jerome, May 31. - Two suspicious youths found loitering near the local railway station at five o'clock last night, and at first believed to be the two bandits who are being sought in connection with the St. Jovite bank hold-up, were arrested and taken to the local police station by Chief R. Latour. They were questioned and spoke little English, and the police stated, refused to give much information about themselves. Chief Latour communicated with the provincial police and Detective Merineau arrived here and questioned them.
This morning at 10.30 orders were received from the provincial police by Chief Latour to release the pair. The descriptions of the lads did not correspond with that of the two gunmen. When arrested the men were exhausted and said that they had come from Mont Laurier and were on their way to Montreal. The pair were first seen by M. Lapointe who called the police. They were between 19 and 23 years of age.
The Gazette learned that, according to the description, the two men, arrested and later released in St. Jerome, Que., when they were at first thought to be the two St. Jovite bank bandits, are believed to be Roger Laurin, 16 years of age, of 4586 Fabre street, and Jean Paul Gauvin, 18 years of age, of 5820 Second avenue, Rosemount, who disappeared from their homes on Monday last.
Upon learning that the two had been arrested and finding that the description corresponded with that of her missing son, Mrs. Laurin telephoned Chief Latour and asked him to detain them until she went for them yesterday morning. By the time that the call reached the police of St. Jerome the two youths had already been released.
Last night Mrs. Laurin left Montreal in an automobile in search of the pair. She hoped to pick them up somewhere along the highway between Montreal and St. Jerome.

Yoruichi Meta: From chapter 116, page 32:
Tumblr media
Yoruichi’s second toe is plainly longer than the first. This is known as Morton’s toe. It’s commonly associated with Greek and Celtic populations. The incidence rate overwhelmingly tends to women across the population (25:1), and in the Japanese population in particular it’s very rare and often comes with an additional condition (congenital brachymetatarsia) which she doesn’t have:
The largest series of studies, which are from Japan, report the incidence of Morton’s syndrome to be somewhere between 1 in 1820-4586 (0.022%-0.05%), and bilateral congenital brachymetatarsia is noted to be 72%.
Her having this trait isn’t conclusive proof of foreign influence in her ancestry, but it does sort of point to it. Some interesting asides from here:
The Indians believed that those who possess Morton's toe value peace and happiness more than success or money. Such people are believed to have superior leadership skills, while people who have ordinary toes fall into more of a "loyal employee" category.
and here:
11.3/7.8% of males (right/left) and 7.6/4.6% of females, Mukherjee, D. P. & Rao, V. R. (1975) Association between digital formulae of hands and feet. Indian journal of physical anthropology and human genetics 1: 1-8.

So YOU want to be in the Mujihigi, huh?...
Tumblr media
It’s easy! We are always looking to expand our community, both in combatants and those who participate outside of the arena. But first.. What is the Mujihigi?
The Mujihigi is an organization with ties to underground dealings in the East. The Organization, run by a panel of ‘council members’, revolves around a pair of bi-monthly ‘Fight Club’ events that involve taking 15/16 Fighters, putting them through Preliminary fights to cut that number down to 8 - And then THOSE 8 fighters go at it on the night of our fighting event for a chance to fight our Yokozuna, the champion of last chapter’s event!
The first night is a night of celebration, betting, and auctioning - Where those fighters get sponsored by ‘Syndicates’ to fight in their name (if they did not have their own sponsor going in.) We call it: Hype Night! The Syndicates front the (IC) costs for entering and maintaining their fighter, at the risk of losing that money if their fighter loses! The second night of course, is our Fight Night - Where we see the action unfold! We have our very own rolling system we use to fight, one that utilizes strategy combined with the usual RNG luck to produce results.
Sounds fun, right? Like we said before, we are always looking for more participants - But a little responsibility comes with getting involved. Interested in learning what we expect of you, and what exactly you can do to get involved? Click the Read More for more information!
When are we looking for more combatants, and how do signups work?
We are always looking for more people ready to prove their worth on the sands, but we only accept formal entries into our events exactly one week after our event ends. Seven days post Fight Night, after our Yokozuna for the Chapter has been decided, a post will be listed on our official Tumblr page with a link to a signup form. This signup form will have you list your characters name, any title associated with them ICly, what organization they are fighting for (or unsponsored), any music theme you prefer as a suggestion for the night of the Mujihigi and contact information (discord).
These spots go fast, so if you are able to submit a response, you got in! Once signups are filled (15 to 16 spots depending on IC elements) the fighters will be contacted, and we will begin the process to get Preliminaries started. If you don’t see the signup sheet, it’ll tell you your next move, and you are still welcome to contact us to get involved in other ways - But unless someone leaves we won’t be accepting further submissions until the next Chapter.
What is expected of you, as the Fighter / Entrant:
First and foremost make sure you are able to actually /attend/ the events. Life happens, and we understand that 100%, but barring something happening we would like anyone interested in signing up as an official fighter to recognize how much work is put into getting everything ready for the big day and actually have the availability to at least make it to our Fight Night (the second event). If you leave midway through the process or bail out of fighting, we have to ICly and OOCly work out your empty spot. It is just more work for us so we’d prefer you are sure you can make it to at least fight for us.
The Mujihigi at its core is a storytelling event. Winning is fun, but our event is more about the story being told, than who actually wins. That being said, the system we use is RNG based, so please keep that in mind and come with the mindset that we are all here to have fun and tell the best story we can! If you win that is AWESOME, but if you lose there is a great story to be told behind that loss as well.
With that, we are also looking for some effort to be put into these fights emote wise. We invite the whole data center to come watch our storytelling event unfold, and because our system keeps the crowd on their feet and paying attention to the emotes, we want the best fights possible! You’ll learn more about what the rolling system we use when you actually get down to it.
Once you are selected to participate in our event, within a few weeks you will be asked to schedule a date for your Preliminary fight. These fights follow our rules and our rolling system, and have crowds of their own - But ultimately they are what decide who gets to fight in the event! Win or lose, there are still ways for you to get involved, but a loss means you won’t be featured in this chapters event. Additionally, being eliminated either from the preliminaries or the event itself does not currently disqualify you from reentering in the next.
Those who win their preliminary fights will also work with one of our crew either after the fight or at a later date to get screenshots to be used in a banner for promotional posts later on. An example of said banner will be provided below, but once we release them they are each free to be used by their respective owner however they like! Think of it as a prize for making it this far.
Tumblr media
What else is there for you to do other than fight?
We always welcome more spectators/participants. The crowd makes the event, and in our case, we mean that literally! The banter, discussions, and interactions from the crowd is part of what we think makes the Mujihigi unique to other fighting events. We welcome all to participate formally, to give our event a certain ambiance of enjoyment both ICly and OOCly! Spectators also have a chance to win (OOC) prizes! Starting at the end of Hype Night to the beginning of the tournament, a spreadsheet will float around allowing anyone participating in the event to stake their claim, and make predictions on how the bracket will unfold. Guess 100% Correctly, and you can win 25$ Mogstation credit!  [US & Canadian Residents Only, excluding Quebec. No physical prizes, digital delivery, no purchase necessary]
Additionally, we are also looking for more Syndicates to throw their hat in, and show interest in being a continued part of our organization. A syndicate is what we consider to be any collective number of characters that form a group, from a small ‘gang’ of two or three to a large FC full of delinquents ready to spend their hard earned (IC) money for a chance to win big! Syndicates make up the backbone of both our story, and the event itself - Largely allowing these groups to sponsor the fighters and play a bigger role in the overall theme. Syndicates have more power in the underground network than a single person does.
Additionally, for the groups that show real dedication to our cause and organization, there is opportunities for their position to (ICly) grow.
Due to our nature of being a storytelling event, using us to grow your character or their social network is encouraged! Each of the current Syndicates involved in our story have their own personal plots, stories, and personalities to get involved with if your character finds their way into the specific syndicates’ social circle.
Remember, it is always beneficial to have friends in high places.
How do you get involved, then? Let’s get you started!
First and foremost, we post all event information here on our official Tumblr; But the easiest way to become part of the story is to contact one of the organizers and get an invitation to our discord. We’ve grown into a small, but memey, group of nerds but being a part of our discord is the quickest and best way to make sure you receive updates directly from the source, the moment everyone else gets them!
You are welcome to also do it the old fashioned way, and find us at the events themselves and work your way in in person.
(Have questions, or want to join our community/discord? Contact us here or on discord! Bryte Darklyt#4586 or jeaart#6354 for any invite.)

"HUNT INTENSIFIED FOR BANK BANDITS," Montreal Star. June 1, 1933. Page 2. --- Police Dogs and Posse of Local St. Jovite Men Trail Robbers --- STE. AGATHE, June 1 - (Star Special) - Suggestive of a hunt in the southern United States for escaped chain-gang prisoners are the latest methods employed by provincial police in their quest for two bandits who on Monday held up and robbed the St. Jovite branch of the Bank of Montreal of over $2.000. Keen-scent-ed police dogs are being used by the six detectives and posse of local men who have been combing the wooded areas between this town and St. Jovite for the past four days. The theory held by Chief of Detectives Louis Jargaille of the Provincial Police in that the two bandits have been forced by, hunger and exhaustion to "lie low and are in hiding in a secluded locality. They dare not venture on the highways, for the whole mountain district has been circulated with descriptions of them. In other quarters, however, it is thought that the pair may have managed to board either a north or south bound freight train and have escaped in this manner. FOUND LOITERING. Considerable excitement occurred at St. Jerome yesterday, but soon subsided, when two youths found loitering in the railway station were arrested on suspicion by Chief of Police R. Latour. Their description was wired to provincial police head- quarters at Montreal but failed to coincide with that of the two men sought. It is believed, however, that the two youths are Roger Laurin, 16, 4586 Fabre street, and Jean Paul Gauvin, 18, 5820 Second avenue Rosemount. both of whom have been missing from their homes in Montreal since Monday.
Mrs. Laurin has left by automobile for St. Jerome, where she hopes to identify one of the boys as her son.
Sergeant-Detective Lasnier returned to Montreal temporarily yesterday and left the direction of the manhunt in the hands of his six conference. He was tired and worn and left here wearing a pair of khaki drill trousers, having worn out one pair during his wanderings through the bush. Today members of the posse will cover a wide stretch of territory with a view to finding if any men. have suddenly disappeared from their homes and thus establishing the identity of the two bandits.

Our Clients in Texas get Tax Relief on Cook & Co. News
New Post has been published on https://cookco.us/news/our-clients-in-texas-get-tax-relief/
Our Clients in Texas get Tax Relief
Tumblr media
IRS extends April 15 and other upcoming deadlines, provides other tax relief for victims of Texas winter storms .
Victims of this month’s winter storms in Texas will have until June 15, 2021, to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments, the Internal Revenue Service announced today.
Following The recent disaster declaration issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),  the IRS is providing this relief to the entire state of Texas. But taxpayers in other states impacted by these winter storms that receive similar FEMA disaster declarations will automatically receive the same filing and payment relief. The current list of eligible localities is always available on the disaster relief page on IRS.gov.
The tax relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines that occurred starting on Feb. 11. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until June 15, 2021, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period. This includes 2020 individual and business returns normally due on April 15, as well as various 2020 business returns due on March 15. Among other things, this also means that affected taxpayers will have until June 15 to make 2020 IRA contributions.
The June 15 deadline also applies to quarterly estimated income tax payments due on April 15 and the quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on April 30. It also applies to tax-exempt organizations, operating on a calendar-year basis, that have a 2020 return due on May 17.
In addition, penalties on payroll and excise tax deposits due on or after Feb. 11 and before Feb. 26 will be abated as long as the deposits are made by Feb. 26.
The IRS disaster relief page has details on other returns, payments and tax-related actions qualifying for the additional time.
The IRS automatically provides filing and penalty relief to any taxpayer with an IRS address of record located in the disaster area. Therefore, taxpayers do not need to contact the agency to get this relief. However, if an affected taxpayer receives a late filing or late payment penalty notice from the IRS that has an original or extended filing, payment or deposit due date falling within the postponement period, the taxpayer should call the number on the notice to have the penalty abated.
In addition, the IRS will work with any taxpayer who lives outside the disaster area but whose records necessary to meet a deadline occurring during the postponement period are located in the affected area. Taxpayers qualifying for relief who live outside the disaster area need to contact the IRS at 866-562-5227. This also includes workers assisting the relief activities who are affiliated with a recognized government or philanthropic organization.
Individuals and businesses in a federally declared disaster area who suffered uninsured or unreimbursed disaster-related losses can choose to claim them on either the return for the year the loss occurred (in this instance, the 2021 return normally filed next year), or the return for the prior year. This means that taxpayers can, if they choose, claim these losses on the 2020 return they are filling out this tax season. Be sure to write the FEMA declaration number – 4586 − on any return claiming a loss. See Publication 547 for details.
The tax relief is part of a coordinated federal response to the damage caused by these storms and is based on local damage assessments by FEMA. For information on disaster recovery, visit disasterassistance.gov.
