god etsy is such an on fire trash can but it has a bunch of shipping presets that are difficult to migrate so i guess we'll do it this way

so anyways there's a glitch where sometimes it forces you to buy a shipping label in order to close out DIGITAL purchases which is fucking insane to me.

So I've pulled the only other cross stitch pattern off of it and made it a pay-what-you-want on kofi

I've also uploaded the other MASSIVE pattern onto ko-fi bc why not

It's a fairly obscure monster road trip reference but I'll be real it holds it's own perfectly fine as a fun pattern to have around the house for your average weirdo

both of these are basically free since ko-fi allows you a pay what you like option

If they had canada post shipping label pre-sets and a robust dms-to-custom-commission-listing system I would migrate in a heartbeat but ALAS

There's a new candidate for my favourite customer ever.

Someone had bought a dog jacket (uh-oh) with fleece lining (oh no), not a small dog either, so plenty of fabric real estate (*sweats nervously*). The product bag had been opened, and while it was folded pretty neatly, it was folded differently from how we do it, and all the... sleeves? Pant legs? had the velcro attachments adjusted for a smaller limb size than the default, so it had been taken out and tried on.

However, upon examining it, I only found one (1) singular dog hair on it.

So whoever had bought it and returned it (reason given was "too big") had brushed any loose hairs their dog might have shed in it before sending it back, and saved me a whole lot of blood sweat and tears and probably like fifteen minutes of work.

That's such a rare thing to happen!

So nice. Thank you, random dog owning person for your kindness.

Paper-aluminum combo can replace plastic for strong, sustainable packaging

Takeout containers get your favorite noodles from the restaurant to your dining table (or couch) without incident, but they are nearly impossible to recycle if they are made from foil-lined plastics. Research published in ACS Omega suggests that replacing the plastic layer with paper could create a more sustainable packaging material. The researchers used mechanical demonstrations and computer simulations to identify paper-aluminum laminate designs that won't compromise on performance. Protective packaging, like containers made from polyethylene and aluminum laminates, combines the strength and durability of plastic with the moisture- and light-blocking properties of aluminum foil. While these materials are effective, there's been a shift toward consumers desiring less plastic and more environmentally friendly materials in the packaging that comes into their homes.
