in lieu of packing
11pm, saturday, july 15, 2023
the things i could be doing right now could fill multiple volumes, but i listened to a podcast today about academic (im)perfectionism and am deciding i don't need to feel guilty. this summer's Big European Travel starts tomorrow and I! am! nervois! but i've done some smaller trips recently which helped me work up to this in a way. further media and life musings below the cut.
reading i had a few weeks there where my recreational reading was... a little bleak, in that i was reading things that felt dated and/or formulaic and/or just put me straight to sleep, thereby meaning that i took much longer than i normally like to finish anything-- this was enlivened with two excellent new instalments from two different series i love, anne leckie's translation state and samantha shannon's a day of fallen night.
very very fun now thinking of these back to back. two books were so engrossing, built (and built on) such rich worlds, such good command of the vibes/atmosphere/tone they were going for, but so different! to sound like a book reviewer for a moment, leckie's prose is sort of lean where shannon's is lush, something like that. there's a joke in here based on the meme that goes 'sci-fi is where x, fantasy is where y' but i'm too tired to work it out myself. both of these books say-- so there are incomprehensible beings in your world which may wish to eat and/or destroy you, and some people have found ways to work or live with them, but it is very weird and alien to your way of life. day of fallen night feels more like a climate metaphor, and there is plenty that felt pulled straight from the psyche of the years 2020-2023. both do fun/interesting things with gender and relationships, and both made me want to go re-read their respective predecessors to heighten the feeling of connection and resonance with those other works.
watching mostly dimension 20-- i introduced @yogurtforever to fantasy high last week, and I myself have been working my way through the toy island arc of neverafter-- but here is the place to mention watching netflix's new documentary about WHAM!, of all things, with @yogurtforever and @thehibernatinglentil last weekend.
youtube
not being a documentary hound, i never would have watched this without friends, but it was genuinely quite fun! i didn't know a ton about wham! or george michael, which i now realize is a shame because there's a lot to know. making up for it by having the lyrics to their first hit single, the inimitable 'wham rap', stuck in my head for the next 200 years.
listening due in no small part to the wham! doc (and an mama mia 2 rewatch the week before that), i put on a lot of throwback music this week. it ended up being more 70s than 80s, and that got me thinking about how strongly my parents' music taste influenced mine. there are so many good artists from ~back then~ who i have found out about later, because we just didn't listen to them at home? and of the vinyl i remember finding in the basement, you know, it wasn't bowie, it wasn't fleetwood mac, it wasn't springsteen (it was james taylor and paul simon and probably joni mitchell). luckily, summer camp taught me all the lyrics to a bunch of other oldies, and we did listen to the radio oldies station quite a lot, so my education wasn't entirely deficient. i bring this week the don maclean song 'vincent', which i will be thinking a lot about for one reason and another this week.
youtube
playing i have, at long, long last, completed my stardew community center. it was a little anticlimactic, after all the travail that went into it, but i'm so pleased. it only took like two actual human real life years! the last thing i needed was a rabbit's foot, and now at last i feel like i can move to the next tier of game play. i remain unmarried, fighting for my life in skull cavern, but now with two small bunnies to love.
making trying to figure out how to eat most of the food i have in the fridge, how to use up things and make the most of what i have and not leave anything to spoil for the next little while, so i haven't really been cooking big projects. i've been 'making' appointments, got my eyes checked, had coffee with two different profs and chatted with a former student about her med school applications, and that's about it!
working on conference paper, which is both a slideshow (graphic design is my passion, this part is mostly fine) and a draft of what might turn into usable words for the chapter i'm working on. naturally i have built it up into the Biggest Scariest Most Important task, and so am avoiding it and finding it miserable to work on. and i still have time! i had wanted to not work on it on the plane, during my travel week, etc., but there is actually time. there's time. and i keep having small breakthroughs, after 2-5 hours of dicking around, which allow me to believe that there is an end in sight. other things to be worked on, for when i have some 'free' 'time'-- newsletter draft that's so very overdue, multiple students asking for detailed essay feedback and grade breakdowns, emails from students asking for other things, recommendation letter, the next chapter that i'm meant to be finishing this summer. luckily, it's a long plane ride.
#in lieu of a commonplace book#ilcb#weekly roundup#the good thing with writing about two books per post is that i can really easily avoid spoilers; the bad thing is that i can't just yell#about the parts in each one in particular that made me yell!#it's a zoomed-out format and normally i like that#but also: these books were so good

Mother’s Day Movie Favorites
What better way to celebrate mom than by watching a mother-centric movie with her or, if that's not possible, while thinking about her, or her memory?
We've all got a mother, heck, some of us even are mothers, making motherhood extremely fertile, movie-making subject matter for everything from tear-jerking melodrama to slasher flicks. There are hundreds, probably thousands, of movies exploring the bonds of mothers and their children, both sweet and sour, but below are my Top 25 favorite mom movies…
Updated: July 29, 2023
Steel Magnolias (1989) - This Southern-friend Schmaltz-fest is near and dear to my heart, having lost my own mother in a way not all that dissimilar to Julia Roberts' character. And, while much of Steel Magnolias is over the top, the cast is, indisputably, top-notch. This is one that never fails to make me laugh, cry and think about my mama.
Lady Bird (2017) - Probably the best mother-daughter movie of the last 20 years, this Greta Gerwig classic is a perfect watch on Mother's Day, or any time. It nails teen angst and the push pull of mother-daughter relationships perfectly.
Mr. Mom (1983) - While the premise—A dad being the primary caregiver? How novel!—may be dated, the comedy in this Teri Garr-Michael Keaton comedy still holds up remarkably well, give or take a moment or two. A great, whole family watch, and a wildly under-rated '80s comedy.
Petite Maman (2021) - This simple, sweet, but never cloying, French story of a daughter who magically meets and befriends her mother as a child, leading to greater love and understanding between them is the absolute perfect mom-centric movie, on Mother’s Day or anytime.
Postcards from the Edge (1990) - Based on Carrie Fisher's roman a clef about her own relationship with actress-mother Debbie Reynolds, this Meryl Strep-Shirley MacLaine movie is one of my very favorites.
Freaky Friday (2003 or 1976) - Whether you prefer the Jamie Curtis-Lindsay Lohan remake, or the Jodie Foster-Barbara Harris original, this Disney classic is fun, funny and an absolute hoot of a mother-daughter romp.
Terms of Endearment (1983) - As you can see, Shirley MacLaine looms large on this list. MacLaine really cornered the market on over-the-top, yet-loving mom roles, and there are few better mother-daughter dramas than this absolute classic weepy that co-stars Debra Winger.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021) - This Netflix-original animated movie, starring Maya Rudolph as the mom, is a pretty perfect Mother’s Day watch. Funny, all-ages humor that packs quite an emotional punch, amidst all the silliness, and the Mama Bear fierceness Rudolph provides in the climax is epic.
Philomena (2013) - As an adoptee, another very personal watch for me (even if this situation is nothing like my own), this story of a woman searching for the child she was forced to give up is incredibly well done, and funny as well as heart wrenching, with absolutely incredible performances from both Judi Dench and Steve Coogan.
Overboard (1987) - This goofy ‘80s comedy features real-life loves Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn at their most charming. It’s also about found families in a way that feels very modern Mother’s Day appropriate, and is a whole family watch that holds up better than you'd think given it’s a story about a man who convinces a rich lady with amnesia that she’s the mother of his three rowdy boys all because she stiffed him on a contracting job. But, whatever you do, don’t watch the dreadful 2018 remake (shudder).
Mamma Mia! (2008) - This Abba-jukebox musical has a star-studded cast—Meryl Strep! Amanda Seyfried! Christine Baranaski!—and a heart of gold. If you're not singing and dancing along with the mother-daughter wedding hijinks, you're doing it all wrong.
Baby Mama (2008) - This Tina Fey-Amy Poehler comedy is not only a “stealth” Christmas movie, it’s also a great Mother’s Day watch that’s funny and has a little something to say about society’s vision of who is “worthy” of being a mom.
Dumplin’ (2018) - Based on the great book by Julie Murphy, Dumplin' is honestly Jennifer Aniston's best work in years. Aniston plays the pageant queen mom to the less lithe Willowdean. Lots of love and some messy family business make this a relatable, yet lovely, watch.
Mother (1996) - Though I slightly prefer the movie about Debbie Reynolds as a mom, see Postcards from the Edge above, this movie with Reynolds playing Albert Brooks' mom is also a classic. Brooks is at at his absolute driest wit in my second favorite of his movies, after Defending Your Life. Just don’t confuse this Mother with the controversial 2017 Jennifer Lawrence horror movie, because that would be a very different holiday viewing experience.
Juno (2007) - This story of a pregnant teen making choices feels especially poignant in 2022. The balance of so many iterations of motherhood—from Juno’s own mostly absent mom, to Allison Janney as her fierce and flawed stepmom, potential adoptive mom Jennifer Garner and teen-mom Juno herself make this absolutely perfect Mother’s Day viewing.
Blockers (2018) - This teen sex comedy is neither about sex, nor the teens, but instead focuses on a ragtag group of parents, including mom Leslie Mann, who are struggling to let their kids grow up. A truly funny R-rated romp.
Wonder (2017) - This under-seen, sweet and gentle story stars Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts as parents of Auggie, a kid who is a little bit different, and a whole lot special. Will definitely give you all the mom feels, and also has some stealth Christmas moments.
Little Women (1933, 1994 and 2019) - Take your pick from the myriad adaptations of Louisa May Alcott's classic, but whichever Marmie you prefer, this story of three sisters and their stalwart matriarch stands the test of time.
The Parent Trap (1961 or 1998) - Both versions of this twin-swapping story are equal parts ridiculous and joyful. Don't think too much about what kind of parents would willfully give up one of their children just because they looked alike (I mean, what in the world?!?), and instead enjoy the cute, cupid-y machinations of multiple Hayley Millses or Lindsay Lohans.
Baby Boom (1987) - This Diane Keaton comedy is usually remembered as a rom-com with Sam Shepard, but it’s really the story of a woman falling in love with being a mom, and what could be more appropriate Mother's Day viewing?
A Simple Favor (2018) - If you're looking for something a little less gushing, and a lot more deadly, check out this Paul Feig black comedy/thriller that features Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick as epic mom frenemies.
It's Complicated (2009) - Not sure whose movies feature in this list more often: Meryl Strep or Shirley MacLaine. This Strep-led, Nancy Meyers romp is a grown-up family dynamic farce that still holds up, despite the somewhat unfortunate inclusion of Alec Baldwin.
Bad Moms (2016) - Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell make a heck of a trio in this R-rated comedy about moms going kind of, but not too, wild.
The Guilt Trip (2012) - This guilty pleasure road trip comedy stars Barbara Streisand and Seth Rogan, and the very fact that such a combo exists at all gives me great joy.
Hope Floats (1998) - This Texas-set, Sandra Bullock divorce story didn't get a lot of love upon release—the soundtrack was a bigger hit than the movie—but it's better than you remember, and is also a pretty great portrait of a multi-generational mother-daughter relationship. Plus, it features a baby Mae Whitman.
More to Explore
Mum (2016-19) - This gentle BBC series, which checks in on a newly-widowed, working-class mother in the first years following the death of her husband (the first two seasons feature monthly check-ins, the last takes place over a single week) is a delight. Mum originally aired on PBS in the U.S., and is now available via Britbox. Just a really lovely portrait of motherhood, love at a certain age, and how adult children learn to live and grow on their own—or don’t, as the case may be.
Motherland (2016-22) - The Sharon Horgan-created BBC series, available on AMC+ on the U.S., is a very funny look at modern motherhood starring Anna Maxwell Martin, and includes a smashing season three Mother’s Day-centric episode—the eponymously-named “Mother’s Day”—that’s both terrifically funny and touching.
The Middle: Mother’s Day II (2011) - This season two episode of the long-running ABC series, currently available on HBO Max, is probably my favorite episodic take on the holiday. The depiction both of how “me time” is never all it’s cracked up to be for moms, and how trying to recreate a perfect moment never works out, is spot on.
Snoopy Presents To Mom (and Dad), with Love (2022) - The Peanuts gang is eager to celebrate Mother’s Day in this new, Apple TV+ original special, all except for Peppermint Patty, that is, who grew up without her mom. It’s a rare special centered on the holiday with a sweet, family-comes-in-all-forms message.
Mothering Sunday (2022) - A stellar cast—Olivia Colman, Colin Firth, Josh O'Connor, Odessa Young—populate this Mother’s Day-set period drama that is far from a fun romp, but impeccably acted.
Mother's Day (2016) - This movie is bad. Really bad, yet I feel obligated to include it, since it actually takes place on the holiday, but must stress it should only be watched for ironic mocking, with a generous amount of wine.
Mother’s Day (2018, BBC) - This British TV movie, available in the U.S, on Britbox, couldn’t be more different from the stinker that shares its name. Vicky McClure and Anna Maxwell Martin play mothers who use their own tragedies to help bring peace to Northern Ireland, with key events taking place on the British version of the holiday.
Mother’s Day on Walton’s Mountain (1982, NBC) - This reunion movie follows up on the family from the long-running CBS series.
Otherhood (2019) - This otherwise mid-tier Netflix empty nest/road trip comedy benefits from its very strong cast—Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette and Felicity Huffman—as well as its liberal references to the holiday itself.
Mermaids (1990) - This Cher-led single mom story is another under-rated gem. Featuring Winona Ryder and a baby Christina Ricci, with the very odd (but it works) choice of Bob Hoskins as the eventual love interest, this is definitely one worth checking out.
Incredibles 2 (2018) - While both of these Pixar flicks are some of the best superhero movies ever made, the second is particularly mom-focused in a way that feels both realistic and touching—not an easy feat for a cartoon about a family with superpowers.
The Sound of Music (1965) - Because this is a movie about motherless children and their nanny/eventual stepmom, didn’t think I could put this in my main list of mom-centric movies, but as a motherless child myself, with several stepmoms far less magical than Julie Andrews, this is definitely a fantasy film for me, and another whole-family pleasing watch.
Muriel’s Wedding (1994) - One of my favorite movies of all-time, this one isn’t quite mom-centric enough for me to include on my main list, but the tragic mother-daughter relationship in this otherwise lighthearted, Aussie coming of age tale is indelible.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) - This one is more about family bonds, than motherhood in particular, but if you need a dose of how loving even the most cloying clan can be, this is a great example that will make you want to reach out to relatives you haven't seen in years. And Lainie Kazan as the lovingly overbearing mother is a standout.
Secrets and Lies (1996) - This adoption story is about the reunion of a mother and daughter who don't share much beyond DNA. This British Best Picture nominee isn’t a lighthearted romp, but it is poignant and powerful, and just missed making my Top 25 above.
Lion (2016) - Yes, yet another adoption story. Based on a true tale of a man searching for a his biological family, it takes a different tack than many similar stories, and Dev Patel’s performance is incredible
Parenthood (1989) - Not on my top 25 list mostly due to the fact that Steve Martin’s multigenerational father-son relationship is probably the more central story, but still one of my all-time favorite family life films and if you’re looking for something for Father’s Day…
Imitation of Life (1959) - Sure, it lacks some of the nuance a 21st century telling of this story would have, but the performances, and prejudice, seen through the eyes of two mothers, remain all too relatable.
Stepmom (1998) - Another mom movie that also qualifies as a stealth Christmas flick, this weepy tale of Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts battling over the kids’ affections isn’t my personal fave, but a lot of people love it.
Mom’s Day Away (2014, Hallmark) - This Bonnie Somerville-led family comedy is set around the holiday, and cuter than your average Hallmark joint, with a stressed out mom taking a day off from her family.
Mom’s Night Out (2014) - Almost a Hallmark film, this very gentle, PG-rated comedy, starring frequent Hallstar Sarah Drew, is one of those “crazy night out” comedies that is low on actual crazy, and big on family feels.
The Adam Project (2022) or Yes Day (2021)- Not sure how an actress whose breakout role was as a sexy super spy morphed into the ultimate Hollywood mom, but Jennifer Garner has seemingly cornered the market on loving but exhausted and/or somewhat tightly wound mom roles, which is why so many of her movies already appear on this list. Neither of these are spectacular, but both are perfectly fine, ultimately innocuous, all-ages, family viewing that also happen to be easily available on Netflix for at-home, anytime viewing.
The Joy Luck Club (1993) - This adaptation of Amy Tan’s novel is all about mothers and daughters. I wholeheartedly recommend the book, but am a little less enthusiastic about the movie, which is why it didn’t make my main list.
Room (2015) - Definitely dark, but a searing portrayal of what mothers endure for their children, and how strong those bonds are. Alison Brie won an Oscar for this mostly grim, but ultimately hopeful, mother-son story.
This is 40 (2012) - Judd Apatow isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but that this sort-of sequel to Knocked Up features his real-life wife and daughters, with Paul Rudd as Apatow’s martial stand in, adds some interest to an otherwise just so-so story.
Tully (2018) - This dark and twisty Charlize Theron movie is a relatable portrait of an exhausted mother…right up until it most definitely is not.
The Kids are All Right (2010) - I didn’t love this story about how two moms relationship changes when their son meets his sperm donor, but there’s no denying the acting chops in this Julianne Moore-Annette Binning-Mark Ruffalo movie.
Auntie Mame (1958) - Make sure you watch the Rosalind Russell original and not the Lucille Ball remake (shudder) but this delightful comedy about non-traditional mother figures has been a favorite of mine since childhood.
Serial Mom (1994) - This dark (very dark) comedy about a murdering mom played by Kathleen Turner is not for everyone, but for those in the right (a.k.a. wrong) mood, it could make a perfect Mother’s Day watch.
Mommie Dearest (1981) - Perhaps the ultimate anti-Mother’s Day watch, this camp classic starring Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford is unforgettable and way, way over-the-top.

Congratulations on your 500 followers! I would like to make a request for 9 .“Just don’t break anything…again!” with Henry. Thank you!
Hey world! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA when it comes to writing, or at least posting! Don’t worry continuations of my WIP’s are coming but I also wanted to challenge myself to break my mold of writing and try to have a little fun. Also I wanted to show my appreciation of all of you and your support of what I do!
So to anon this is something from my Fluff! Henry collection! I hope you enjoy it as much as I had fun with it!
Title: Lava and Kids Don’t Mix
Characters: Dad!Henry Cavill x Female Reader
Prompt: “Just Don’t Break Anything...Again!”
Rating: G!
Warning: None, just fluff, mention of injury, and a slightly broody Cavill man.
MasterList for more fun!
Henry Cavill was in a panic.
You only had one rule before you left to spend the day with his mother. Leaving him in charge of your two 5 year old twin boys Mitchell and Michael for the day. He was supposed to keep it simple, take the boys to the park with Kal and your 2 year old Jack Terrier Russell Sandy. You knew the boys would run off all access energy at the park and after they ate the soup and sandwiches you made for all of them before you left, they would down for their nap, and you would be home and starting dinner just after they woke up.
Simple plan right?
Right?
Wrong.
Needless to say things didn’t anyways go to plan in the Cavill household when dealing with two rambunctious twins that looked and acted like their father and two dogs, and also an unexpected rainstorm that shortened the park trip that saw the Cavill men playing the floor is lava, while Henry warmed up the soup in the kitchen. Ignoring the roughhousing like he tended to do when you weren’t around because he grew up with four brothers and “boys will be boys.” Of course Mitchell managed to miss the couch cushions he was supposed to land on, and landed on his left arm and on top of his brother. The subsequent scream of pain sent Henry flying from the kitchen, and to his horror found two crying kids on the floor. One holding his arm hollering and the other reeling from his brother landing halfway on him, therefore he was crying too. Henry runs back to the stove switching it off and then running back over to his children which now had a dog sniffing at their faces. Henry picks up Michael first sitting him on the couch and his whimpers are already settling down but Mitchell was still hollering and holding his arm.
“Oh no.”
Henry picks up Michell off the floor who curls into his father's side.
“Mitchell can I see your arm?”
Slowly; the still whimpering child lifts his arm, and the second Henry delicately touches the arm, it sends Mitchell into a scream of pain and fresh tears.
Oh dear.
He notes the boy’s arm has begun to swell and is awfully red. He carries him into the kitchen and puts a ice pack on it and knows he is going to have to take him to the hospital.
In the biggest rush known to man he gathers the twins and puts an SOS to you. Tossing things around the house until he located his wallet, and keys, just avoiding a vase on the table, that you loved. His son hollers louder held in his arms.
You were going to kill him.
You literally left the house with a “ Just don’t break anything again” as a joke but now it looked like it was coming true...
*Hospital*
The small group was ushered back fairly quickly into a room and for once Henry was slightly glad of his celebrity when it came to his family. He often was irritated when he found intrusive photographs of his family plastered all over the web but this time one look at his license had gotten them into a private room and waiting for Mitch to come back from X-rays. He had called you on the way to the hospital, but you didn’t answer so he left a message and tried his mother with the same result. He had tried a few times but he knew coverage could be spotty and he wasn’t exactly sure of what his mother planned for you. He knew you would feel terrible about not answering not to mention he hated putting you through undo stress because you were carrying the third child of the Cavill brood. That had been the only reason you even went today was to get a breather without a five year old pulling at your skirts, especially since he had just gotten back from filming just over a week ago.
Yep. You just might kill him…
At least he thought. He always worried as a father about his children and where you were concerned he wanted to be everything he couldn’t be when he was away filming. You were such a wonderful mother and he just wanted to match what you did for the family. This was not it.
Mike is sleepily resting on Henry’s arm as his brief stint with crying had left him knackered. Henry happens to look down at the arm that Mitchell landed on and noticed he is starting to bruise over his arm. Henry is just beginning to look over his sons arm for the extent of the damage when simultaneously while he was touching Mike’s forearm ; there is a similar spot to his brother’s just on the opposite arm that is red and swollen and soon as he touches it gently, Mike cries out; waking up from his sleep, and also you walk in the door.
Alarmed to find one of her sons crying. Mike notices you almost instantly, crying and running over to you.
“Oh my little man what’s the matter?”
“Daddy hurt my arm!” The young boy calls out and wants the comfort of your arms but of course you couldn’t lift him. Normally you would get onto him about that, but that could be saved for later. Besides he was child so his thoughts would be more literal meaning that Henry must have touched his arm or something.
You lean down as best you could with your 6 month stomach which was reaching the point of cumbersome, but not making you totally immobile as it did with the twins at this point, squatting so you are eye level with him and he wraps himself around you, letting you gently lift his arm. He starts hollering at your slight touch coming further into the room with his mother and father close behind.
You only had one rule really when you left the house this morning and that was for Henry not to break anything...again! However considering you had known whatever happened in your way here, this was a mistake.
The last time you left them alone for an extended amount of time the TV had been broken during a game of catch that you had already told them not to play in the house the night before you went out for the Bridal Shower.
Needless to say you hadn’t been happy with the situation at the time and it was a material thing that could be replaced. Now here you were coming to a hospital cradling one child while the other...wait...where was Mitchell?
“Daddy hurt your arm? I think that may not be the whole truth but it’s okay we can deal with it later. Okay well let’s see if we can get a really nice doctor to take a look at it and I’ll talk to Daddy.”
You say comforting him and pretending to be mad at Henry who honestly already looks wrecked about whatever had happened between the time that you left and now. You press the call button and someone comes in almost immediately which notoriously did not happen; but you weren’t complaining. You asked for them to take a look at Mike as well. They agreed without much problem and after creating a little band for his wrist they agreed to X-ray him and gave him something for his pain.
You waddle over to the chair next to Henry who actually picks up Mike and lets him sit on his lap. He says his hellos to his parents who know the look of exhaustion and being resigned to fate way too well. They take seats as well.
“So where’s the other half of our set?”
You mildly joke.
“He should be back any moment; they’ve taken him to get an X-Ray.”
At that moment a wheel chair appears with a sleepy child in it, his blue eyes drifting in and out of lucidness.
“Moooommmmmmy!!!!”
He says but his voice is dragging indicating they had given him something to ease the pain. You let the nurse help him into bed and go over to him while Henry’s parents take over for comforting Mike.
“Hi baby. How’s your arm?”
“It was hurt-ed momma but it’s not anymore. I feels weird. I sleepy.”
You push back his riotous, dark curls with a soft hand.
“Okay baby go to sleep; Daddy and mommy will be here when you wake up.”
He drifts off and the nurse comes to take Mike for his X-Ray and with the alert child gone; a worried grandfather in tow to watch over him and the other sleeping, you sit back down with a sore back and a smile.
“So what really happened in the couple of hours I was gone.”
Henry looks sheepish; and rubs the back of his neck., his natural curls smushing under his fingers.
“Well we went to the park, but the rain washed us out earlier than intended. So we went back to the house and I cut on a movie, but the boys were playing and the floor was lava and the next thing I heard was a scream...”
“Wait...’the floor is lava’?”
“Yes. Our floors are made of lava and seeing as you can’t touch lava it meant jumping around while I warmed up lunch.”
You sigh but one look at the giant puppy that was your husband, you knew he honestly couldn’t feel any worse than what was happening right now. You were just glad no one had head injuries or irreversible damage. You absently rub your stomach and place a hand on a broad shoulder.
“I feel terrible Y/N. I didn’t think a little rough housing would come to this. My brothers and I had injuries but it was usually from tossing each other around and Rugby. Somehow we managed to avoid the hospital due to our roughhousing.”
You sit up and kiss your husband on the cheek. Henry was an internalizer, so you knew if he looked this upset right now then he felt 100 times worse inside.
“Things happen baby it will be okay. If it makes you feel any better they would have created an even more perilous game. They like to invent new ways to make me tear out my hair.”
The room laughs;
“They don’t normally end up in the emergency room when they are with you...or do they?”
He asks and you laugh shaking your head.
“No, but I’ve had a few close calls that made me question whose bright idea was it to have multiple children at the same time. They can be a handful individually. Babe, don’t beat yourself up about it.”
You rub at his shoulder as a comfort. Henry accepts it and caresses the top with his own. Soon Mike is in a similar state as his brother and they got him in a bed next to him. With both of them unconscious the doctor comes back in with X-ray reports that says both of them have a broken arm.
You sigh and Henry looks devastated and you only shake your head knowing the twins never did anything by the half’s nor did they ever do anything alone.
“I guess the Cavill men don’t do anything by the half huh. I asked all of them not to break anything and they managed it times two.”
A/N: This was meant to be fluff about a peak in the life of Henry Cavill with Children.
More celebration prompt fics will be posted when I wake up in the am because after work today I just do not have it in me to edit anything else tonight, but I hope you enjoyed this for what it is.

February 27, 2021: Love Actually (Part 2)
In case you hadn’t noticed by now...this movie is a lot.
I won’t dwell, and I’ll get back into All Around, but just trust me...this is a bit too much. All I know is that they packed way too much in this film, which is also somehow too long? It’s a lot, yeah? OK, first part of the Recap is right here, let’s get into the second half before I lose my nerve.
Recap (2/2)
So, good news is, Rodrigo and Sarah start dancing at the party, then start to hook up at her place! But the sad news (not bad, just sad) is that it’s interrupted by calls from her brother, Michael (Michael Fitzgerald), a very mentally ill man who lives in an asylum. Their love affair is cut short, and Sarah visits him the next day, where he lashes out at her and claims the nurses are trying to kill him, before being subdued. YIKES. Fuckin’s whiplash.
A little more sadness, as Karen’s convinced that Harry’s fallen out of love with her, having seen how he interacted with the attractive Mia at the party. That’s going to cause some friction, I’m sure. This is folllowed by Mia’s flirtations the following afternoon, which are once again accepted by Harry with no words to the contrary. He also calls her as he’s out, and he appears to be giving into the flirtation, rather than denying them. And as he’s meeting Karen for shopping! Dammit, Harry.
At the store, he buys a necklace for Mia from jewelry salesman Rufus (Rowan Atkinson!). Rufus asks is Harry wants the necklace gift-wrapped, and he agrees. And Rufus...Rufus is the best gift-wrapper of all time. Seriously, the man is a fucking ARTIST. His attention to detail is astonishing, and I love him. Harry doesn’t, as it’s taking way to long. YOU CANNOT RUSH PERFECTION, HARRY! But, yeah, it’s taking too long, and Karen shows up. Harry abandons the necklace, and poor devoted Rufus.
One week until Christmas, as holiday shenanigans take place with everybody! Jamie’s learning Portuguese for Aurélia. Colin (yeah, remember him?) is headed to America, while his roommate Tony is back to work at the film set, where Judy and Jack are being stand-ins for a myriad of sex positions, and Jack asks Judy on a date, which she accepts! A very cute couple, all things considered. They go out on a date on Christmas Eve, and the two kiss on the doorstep. They are legitimately adorable.
Colin arrives at a bar in the United States, and as soon as he orders a beer, his accent IMMEDIATELY draws the attention of Stacey, Jeannie, and Carol-Anne (Ivana Miličević, January Jones, and Elisha Cuthbert). And...IT FUCKING WORKED? These girls are all immediately into him, and invite him to stay with them at their place. However, they only have a small bed, and no couch. Not to mention the fourth girl, Harriet. But he bites the bullet, and accepts the invitation. And once he gets there, the sex proceeds in shadow. I cannot believe it worked, and it’s kind of hilarious.
Meanwhile, the jig is up for Harry. He did indeed get the necklace, and Karen finds it in his pocket before Christmas, assuming that it’s for her. However, when Christmas comes, Harry gives her a Joni Mitchell CD instead, and she realizes that the necklace was for Mia. Which is...shattering. Karen’s extremely hurt by this, fucking understandably.
Christmas Eve! Billy Mack’s song, despite the odds being completely against him, has reached the number one spot on the charts. He appears to be quite happy at a party celebrating him, although his manager appear slightly less so. Wonder why. Jamie, meanwhile, heads to the airport, quite on impulse. Wonder why.
Karl bids Sarah a good night and a Merry Christmas, and she cries when she realizes that their chance of getting together again is shot. Damn. She goes to visit her brother, and I gotta say - she’s a very loving sister. And then...well, it’s the scene. The most famous scene in the movie. You know the one.
youtube
And here’s the thing about this scene: is it superficially romantic? Yeah, sure, I guess. And it’s true that Mark doesn’t actually expect anything to come from this, but...this is still an AMAZINGLY shitty thing to do to someone in a committed relationship that involves your friend. Because it could potentially sabotage their relationship. I mean, maybe she’d be tempted to kiss you in a brief moment of infidelity that initially seems romantic, but is kinda fucked up when you really think about it.
Yeah, yeah, LITERALLY JUST LIKE THAT
OK, after that terrible idea, Bill shows up by surprise at his manager Joe’s place, and notes that he could be going to a big party at this point, but Christmas is a time to spend with his family and loved ones, and that the closest thing to that is, in fact, his manager, who is in fact the love of his life. Not sure if that’s necessarily romantic, but that is still sweet. Anyway, they get drunk and watch porn together. Yup.
David, meanwhile, gets a bevy of Christmas cards, one of which comes from Natalie. She apologizes for the kiss situation, and refers to herself as “Your Natalie”. Time to get in the fuckin’ car, David. He drives down to her neighborhood, and goes from door-to-door until he finds Natalie’s place. Her and her entire family are headed to a school concert, and David offers to give her and her little brother a lift there.
On the way there, the two begin to admit their feelings for one another, and Natlie notes that the President forced herself on her, but nothing else happened. While he’s reluctant about the whole affair, she brings him into the concert backstage. As he enters, he runs into his sister Katie, who’s glad to see him, and is clearly holding back tears because of the Harry situation. Judy and Jack are also there, as well as Daniel and Sam (who’s in the concert).
The kids’ concert takes place, and its headed by a solo from Sam’s crush, Joanna (Olivia Olson), who...WAIT, OLIVIA OLSON? As in...
...Huh. Of all the members of this ensemble cast, she’s the one I least expected! But OK! As expected, she’s an excellent singer, and headlines a rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”. Which seems mildly inappropriate for a kid’s concert, but whatever, sure. She points at various people when saying “is you” in the song, but never at Sam, who’s on the drums. Oof. Sorry, buddy.
The song ends, and the curtain drops, and...
Well, uh...shit. I ean, I’m happy for them both, but David’s officially FUCKED at this point. However, the crowd seems to receive it very well, and that’s lucky. The night ends, and everyone disbands for the night. Harry and Karen are amongst them, and Karen confronts him. She asks what would he do if he were in her position, revealing her knowledge about the necklace. And it’s...affecting, goddamn. He’s made a fool of himself and of her, and she’s struggling.
Daniel congratulates Sam about his performance, but notes that it didn’t work Still, Daniel encourages him to tell Joanna his feelings for her, and he goes to get his things first. Daniel bumps into Carol (Claudia Schiffer), and there’s a connection. Daniel and Sam go to speak with Joanna, but they’re on their way to the airport. They run to meet her there, like in a terrible romance movie. Wait -
At the airport, Daniel and Sam are too late, but decide to make a run for it while Rufus (KING OF GIFT WRAPPERS) is holding up the attendant while looking for his boarding pass. Sam bolts, unnoticed, and Rufus walks away, giving Daniel a knowing look as he passes by, LIKE A KING. Sam bolts through the metal detectors, as the post-9/11 airport attendants RIGHTFULLY FREAK OUT ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION. However, they’re once again distracted by Billy Mack on TV and he catches up to Joanna before being taken away by the fuzz. However, she gives him a kiss on the cheek, and Sam and Daniel hug. Supportive father-son relationship is sweet.
Jamie goes to find Aurélia in Portugal, and the entire village ends up following him until getting to the restaurant were he works, and proposes to her in INSANELY broken Portuguese, which is hilarious. And she accepts...IN ENGLISH! Which is saccharine as fuck...but also sweet.
We cut to a month later, and everybody’s at the airport for the Epilogue. And we’re gonna do this...well, bit by bit.
Billy Mack and Joe: Career’s going well, and a comeback is imminent. Not in a romantic relationship, but still extremely close friends...I think.
Juliet, Peter, and Mark: Juliet and Peter are still together; Mark is still single, seemingly. They meet up with...
Jamie and Aurélia: Coming to England for the first time together, and still in love.
Daniel and Sam: Went to see Joanna at the airport, and Daniel is now dating Carol, which is nice!
Harry and Karen: Oof, icy. They definitely don’t appear to be on good terms, and we never learn why Harry’s been away, but yeah. Not looking good for their relationship, understandably.
Jack and Judy: Married! FUCK YEAH! Adorable. They run into...
Colin and Tony: Colin’s back, and he’s brought back Harriet (Shannon Elizabeth) and her sister Carla (Denise Richards), who IMMEDIATELY takes a liking to Tony and they make out at the gate. Can’t believe that Colin was right, goddamn.
David and Natalie: David’s back from a visit somewhere overseas, and he and Natalie happily reunite right in front of the press, and it’s sweet.
And we’re full-circle, as countless people at the airport reunite in loving embraces. And, I gotta say...it is sweet, but you ever been to a crowded airport around Christmastime? Dude, I’ve been to JFK around that time period, and lemme tell you, it’s less happy reunions, and more pissed-off TSA, lost luggage, stressed out EVERYBODY, and Cinnabon. That last one’s not a complaint...I just really want Cinnabon.
Mmmmmmmm...OH RIGHT, THAT’S All Around (AKA Love Actually). This has been...a lot. BUT, I’ll get into the whole thing in the Review! See you there!

Randomestfandoms’ Mamma Mia OCs
Name: Andie Sheridan
Age: 20
Story: You Won’t Be Away Too Long
Face claim: Lily James
Summary:
Andie Sheridan had never loved Kalokairi the way that her twin, Sophie, and their mom did. Of course she loved it, it was home, but Andie had always wanted to see the world. So, she packs a bag and leaves. Travels through the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Europe before finally planting her roots in Paris. But just when she’s starting to settle into her life there, Sophie calls. She’s getting married, she wants Andie to be her maid of honour, and she’s invited not one, not two, but their three possible dads.
Name: Bree Carmichael
Age: 17
Story: Only Seventeen
Fandom: Mamma Mia
Face Claim: Abigail Cowen
Summary:
Bree Carmichael considered herself to be perfectly boring. The single most eventful thing in her life was her parents getting divorced when she was ten, and she was fine with that. She and her mom moved to California, she visited her dad every summer, she had just gotten accepted into NYU, and her eighteenth birthday was rapidly approaching. But then, the last summer that she was supposed to spend with her dad before university, he cancels on her to go to a stranger’s wedding in Greece. And then, less than a week later, he’s calling her and asking her to come and visit him–because now he has a wife and daughter? So much for being boring, apparently.
Name: Chelsea Bright
Age: 15
Story: Facing My Waterloo
Face claim: Maia Mitchell
Summary:
Chelsea Bright was a daddy’s girl through and through. Of course, given that she had been adopted and raised by a single father, she didn’t really have another option, but she really did love her dad more than anything, and he adored her too. And then he gets invited to a wedding in Greece. Obviously he’s going to bring Chelsea with him, and she cannot wait. But when they get there, nothing is what she expected; they’re staying in a goat house, her very gay dad once dated the mother of the bride, and the bride to be keeps looking at her like she’s seen a ghost. And what’s with all the singing?

Dead Ivy | Chapter Two
CHECK IT OUT FROM THE START | AO3 LINK
The room was taken over with a brutal heat. The type of Georgia heat that would cling to every inch of her skin and worm past her clothes. When Beca was younger she would sleep with the window propped open, spread out over the quilt that her grandmother had sewn before she was born. That was folded up in the closet now, and a busted window unit struggled to pull outside warmth into cooler currents. It smelled like gas.
She felt the sticky brine of sweat on every inch of her skin, almost like a casing that she needed to shed. Her whole body was sore with the whispers of a hangover, though she had only downed two drinks before cautiously walking the side streets and leaving her fathers pickup truck in the parking lot of the Red Sun.
Beca didn’t’ bother reaching for her phone, scrolling through the multitude of emails that she could just mute, justifying it with an excuse. Her bosses could wait, hell, she could wait. Nothing was more important than sitting in her old room staring at the walled posters of boy bands that were shrouded in repression of sexuality. She squinted her eyes at Justin Timberlake and let out a soft groan. She was back where she started.
The scent of coffee tickled at her nose as birds chirped outside. In any other situation, this would be a picturesque moment. But instead, she was thrust into her home town for a funeral. Her brother’s funeral. It left a strange ache in the pit of her chest that she frowned at as she pulled herself from the quilt that her grandmother passed down to her mom- and now it lay here, spread across her twin bed.
Her father was sitting at the kitchen table when she wandered onto the cooling tile. She shivered as the surface bit at her bare feet. He wordlessly nodded at her as she fished for a mug and filled it with steaming liquid. The heat warmed her cheeks as she leaned against the counter.
“You don’t want any milk or sugar?”
“No, I’m okay. Thank you.”
He had run out of things to say after they walked back into the funeral yesterday. They both smiled sadly and accepted the handshakes, cleaning up in silence. The fridge was wracked with different Tupperware they weren’t expected to give back. Most of the dishes were covered in cheese, something about comfort, she supposed. Now there was an uncomfortable silence between them. Beca decided to read over the label stitched into his button-down instead. Mitchell Transmission.
“What are your plans for today?”
She lifted her eyes over the rim of her mug, mumbling into it. “I was going to go to the house.”
He sat back in his chair and let it groan, drumming his fingers on the table. None of this felt real. Was she actually going to use the key that was under the front mat and open into the place that sat desolate now? There was probably mail stacked in the box, no one aware that there wasn’t anyone to open them. But that was why she was staying so long, wasn’t it? To tie up loose ends. To get the old ranch ready to sell.
“Fine, that’s fine. Are you going to get rid of any of his stuff?”
“I’m not sure.” She set the mug down on the counter and let out a small breath.
Part of Beca knew she said it to ease his mind. What about his baseball card collecting? He would murder her if she even thought about touching that as a kid. They were encased in plastic, some of them marked with signatures. But now they were nothing. She would have to get rid of nearly everything, not willing to take it back to her apartment out west, and her father had no reason for it either.
“Well, I’m off.” He stood from the table and pushed in the chair with a shattering screech. It drowned out the birds that chirped outside. She nodded and he told her to drive safely. Something he had never done before.
Beca went to the only general store in town to get trash bags. She had internally groaned when she peeled open the bottom cabinet in the kitchen to find that the only cleaning supplies her father kept was a dried-out pack of Clorox wipes that didn’t smell like lemon anymore. If it were up to her, and really, it wasn’t, she would avoid all public places like this. Especially with lighting so harsh.
She shoved her hands in the pockets of her jacket and struggled to keep her head down as she walked through the sliding doors closest to the produce. An instant smell crossed her senses: A mix between freshly baked bread and cut fruit. There was a slight chill to the air as she grasped a small basket and balanced it in her fingertips. She hoped it was early enough that the only people in here would be moms with nothing better to do, and maybe a drunk college student that hadn’t had a chance to sleep off a hangover.
Beca rounded the aisle to the cleaning supplies and welcomed the bout of heat as she got further away from the freezer section. Maybe Los Angeles had made her soft to the cold. She threw some off-brand trash bags into the basket, some wipes that were also generic, but had some moisture to them. Paper towels, a pack of plastic gloves, though she doubted that she would need them. That’s when she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye.
The woman straightened up and flicked her stare to the base of the aisle. And that’s where she stood: her focus on a pack of detergent that she was glaring at under the fluorescents. She was impossible to miss, her fire-filled hair was done up in a messy bun, a t-shirt hugging every inch of her curves. She had tied a flannel around her waist, taking it off due to heat, Beca guessed.
Chloe Beale. Restaurant owner. Single mother- and oh god, staring right at her.
Beca’s cheeks flushed instantly at the blue flash of light she saw before staring down at the product that was in her hand. She read the directions on how to put on gloves like she had never done it before. It was the most interesting thing in the world right now. She got all the way down to the warning label about ingesting the powder before she felt the warmth of another, always silent on her feet.
“Beca? I heard you were back in town.”
Fuck, that voice. It made her knees want to buckle. She was thankful they didn’t- instead, she calmly breathed in and looked up. She was so close, and her eyes, damn, her eyes were a breath-taking blue like they had always been. Her smile was strong, encouraging. She had missed it.
“Yeah, I… how are you?”
She mentally cursed herself. How are you? Yeah, I’m sorry that I bolted right after high school. That I broke up with you the second I had a chance to get out of the little town. Literally anything but ‘how are you’ would work. But instead, she stared and rocked back on the heels of her boots. Chloe had a cloying, yet graceful, smile on her lips. Obliged.
“I’m well, Beca. How are you?”
Beca blinked: Chloe either hadn’t heard or hadn’t the heart to mention it. Even the greeter at the front of the store had given her a sad look and that awful head tilt. This place was too small for no one to forbid pitying her. She hated it- but Chloe hadn’t done any of that stuff. Instead, she treated her like an old friend.
“I’m uh, I’m okay.” She cupped the back of her neck and peered up at the woman. She had a few things in her hands. A large pack of iodized salt with a little woman in a raincoat stood out to her. It was raining and a spinning sunny umbrella rested upon her shoulder. “Listen, I’m sorry that I’ve been MIA.”
Chloe lifted a brow at that. MIA would be a casual phrase one would use when it came to dodging texts for a few days, not moving across the country and successfully producing records for the past twelve years without so much as a friendly acknowledgment.
“It’s alright.” She finally worked out. “I know how much you wanted to escape this sleepy little town. And you did quite well for yourself.”
Chloe smiled at her again and ducked around her as Beca let her shoulders drop. There was hurt in her stance, eyes following the red-headed woman for a few moments before she vanished, walking up to a cashier who beamed right back at her.

Confession time
I don’t care about huma.
It’s an alright ship but seeing that as of yet it’s non canon I’m not overly invested
In addition
I love gil
I’m kinda meh on Uma
I loathe harry
So so SOOOOOOOOO much
And I really do not like how harry and Uma keep being touted as more important then Mal when it is Mals story. Not theirs
Hell its more of Ben’s story. How he deals with being king and completely changing the status quo of his kingdom to rectify the damned mistakes his father made
And no one pays attention cause they’re too preoccupied with trying to claw their way up the ass of calamari and lizard boy
(Little crass of me but I feel rather strongly about this)
And that picture from yesterday looks like a bad mamma Mia pastiche
Why the rather unconvincing mohawk. Have they made it their mission to make the villains devoid of what made them fun interesting characters in the first place
When blurred harry looks like the illegitimate love child of Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan. If he’s gonna wear a cravat then give the bastard long sleeves. It just doesn’t work otherwise
You will have to excuse me for I have no idea how to draw a pentagram and I have no animals to sacrifice
DARK TUMBLR/DISNEY GODS
SHOW ME THE (apparently and unfortunately because he’s literally the only character I give somewhat of a damn about) FORBIDDEN BEN FLORIAN/BAL/MITCHELL HOPE/DEVIE CONTENT I SO DESPERATELY NEED WANT DESERVE AND DESIRE. THE CONTENT THAT I KNOW YOU HAVE YOU TRAITOROUS GITS.
I’m sorry that was rude. But seriously. We’ve got like one promotional image of Ben and the rest have been of either the rotten four (which I understand because once again it’s their franchise) and Uma Gil and the other one. Which to me is a load of steaming horse crap on fine china because Ben was the first of the characters to appear on screen. His actions set off the plot. He’s the only one who gives a shit about the children on the isle. He’s the one who gave them a chance. He’s the one that supports Mal and jay and Carlos and Evie no matter what. And to disregard that because you think a nut job pirate is more attractive is quite frankly insane shortsighted and misguided.
Personally I think Mal and Uma are as bad as each other. And yes Mal has made more mistakes. That’s because she’s been on screen more often. She knows when she fucked up. And she has faced consequences for her actions The entirety of the second movie was one long middle finger thrown up in her face. She took steps to correct what she believed she broke. She didn’t ask them to follow her back to the island. She didn’t pack them in a case and drag them over the bridge. And yes Mal didn’t fight for the kids still on the island. But neither did jay or Carlos or Evie. For six months. Evie blocked the island out. Mal tried to block it out. Carlos just didn’t talk about it. Jay probably works out residual anger through sports. Also even though I subscribe to the theory that devie have adopted dizzy. The fact remains that for six months. Dizzy was nowhere near the realm of thought in Evie’s mind. She only remembered when Mal mentioned the girl by name.
Which brings me to:
I believe Mal is a bigger person then me. If I were in her place at family day and Leah said that to me and said I basically deserved to be on the island because my parent is a villain. The old bitch would be asleep for twelve millennia. And there’d be no failsafe or loophole or antidote. She’s just waste away. Also if I were Mal. One song would not erase the fact that Evie disregarded her feelings laughed her off and told her to suck it up. Basically saying that her feelings of inadequacy don’t matter cause now she has “the perfect life”.
Ben looks at Mal like she’s the most important person in the world. Mal softens when she looks at Ben. Conversely. Harry looks at Mal like she’s the dog shit he stepped in on the way to the restaurant. Mal looks at him like he’s hardly worth of recognition at all.

Hss MC gets a major role in one of the plays and in said play they have to kiss someone. How would the LI's react?
Preference:
Principal Hughs favorite play Grease comes on while she’s working in her office, and decides she wants the drama teacher to put on his own production of the musical, he casts Drew as Sandy and Sydney as Danny. Cameron as Frenchie, and Max gets roped into playing Rizzo by Kara.
Caleb Mitchell:
The night of the big release, Caleb brings Drew chocolate and flowers to wish them good luck on their debut as an actor. He meets up with them backstage and runs into Sydney who makes him feel a little jealous, he couldn’t deny how beautiful she is. He swallows his jealous and tells her to break a leg.
After the show, Drew invites Caleb out with rest of the cast to celebrate the show. Caleb puts his jealousy aside and enjoys himself, laughing at Sydney’s jokes and extremely deep voice imitation of Danny trying to make serious faces while pretending to slick back her hair.
After dinner, Caleb brings Drew outside to be alone for a little while, sitting on a bench with them enjoying the warm night breeze as they stretch out on the bench, Drew resting their head on Caleb’s shoulder listening to the soft beat of his heart as they watch the stars above of them, when they notice a shooting star.
“Make a wish, Caleb.”
“I wish you never get tired of kissing me.”
“I never get tired of kissing you, Caleb.” Drew leans up and places a soft kiss on his lips. “I’d rather you be Danny any day of the week.” And leans in again, pulling him into a deep lingering kiss, his hands resting on Caleb’s chest.
Maria Flores:
Maria is a little standoffish towards Sydney for a while following the casting list. She doesn’t want to admit to everyone that the Maria Flores is intimidated by Sydney, Sydney wasn’t the smartest of the pair, but she was definitely stunning and that made Maria feel a little insecure. She knew Sydney and Mia had something going on, but it didn’t help ease the jealousy burning in her chest.
Leading up to opening night Maria goes out of her way to find reasons to kiss Drew in front of Sydney, not that Sydney entirely pays attention half the time. When the opening night finally rolls around and Maria sees them kiss for the first time she’s burning with jealous as she sinks into her seat letting her head fall back. By the time the play ends and they kiss for the last time, Maria doesn’t even mind.
After the play, Maria surprises Drew with an abundance of flowers and goes out to enjoy dinner with the cast and her friends. She’s already forgotten about her jealousy and even sits next to Sydney who keeps making her laugh. As they enjoy their time together. Maria and Drew excuse themselves towards the end of the night and walk to a nearby store to just walk around and be together for awhile.
“You were amazing tonight, Drew.”
“Is jealous Maria ready to go back to Maria?”
“I wasn’t jealous…” Drew just laughs at her and they pull her into a kiss, their hands resting on her cheeks pulling away after a few lingering seconds a huge smile spreading across their face taking in the sight of a slightly flushed Maria.
“I’d rather kiss you anyways.”
Aiden Zhou:
Aiden can’t help himself to stop being jealous, he’s almost positive Drew doesn’t have a crush on Sydney or even thinks about kissing her in their free time, but that doesn’t stop him. It doesn’t stop him so much to the point that he lets his jealousy get the best of him and asks Cameron to let him know how rehearsals of any kiss scenes go. They, of course, laugh at him, but do so anyway, but in a trolling manner and text him things like ‘oh my god! Sydney sat on Drew’s lap!’ ‘Oh my god! Drew made the kiss linger longer than they should have.’ Aiden thanks Cameron for nothing and stops responding to their texts after a while.
Aiden isn’t his cordially nice attitude around Sydney for a long time following the play, during lunch he’d always make sure people sat around him so she couldn’t be more than 2 people away from him. After the opening night of the play at the restaurant, he sits at the long table on the complete opposite end of Sydney and rolls his eyes to himself when she’s goofing around pretending to be Danny.
He definitely doesn’t expect her to come up to him, talk to him, tell him she’s entirely devoted to Mia and he has nothing in the world to worry about between Drew and her. She walks away happily with a goofy grin that makes Aiden feel endlessly embarrassed about his behaviors to him. When Drew asks him for a ride home he wastes no time getting out of there as they sit in Aiden car.
“Frivolous.” He mutters under his breath.
“What is?”
“Jealousy. Frivolous. The entire idea of it, I despise it, Drew.”
“Is this about Sydney?”
“Perhaps, why are you going to give me a lecture about my behavior as well.”
“No, I’m sure you’re embarrassed enough as is, and I’d rather just kiss you.” And with that Drew leans over to Aiden and places a deep breathtaking kiss on Aiden’s lips, running their hands through Aiden’s hair, smiling into the kiss that Aiden eagerly kisses back into.
Emma Hawkins:
Emma seems the least jealous of them all, she’s practically best friends with Sydney after all, they’re squad sisters and squad sisters would never do anything to hurt another squad sister, or at least by the code of the squad sisters they shouldn’t.
When the opening night comes around, Emma helps with hair and makeup backstage she always finds it fun and easy to get involved since she doesn’t have to go on stage. While doing Max’s makeup he purposely goes out of his way to try and make Emma feel jealous since Kara tricked him into signing up for the play as revenge for cheating on her. So he figures he’ll cause a rift among the cheerleaders to make them lose nationals.
“I hear Sydney told Drew she caught feelings for them.”
Emma stands from backstage and watches them kiss during scenes and makes her stomach churn with jealousy, as she packs up her makeup supplies, so she can’t touch up Sydney when she comes backstage for her touch up, luckily for Sydney, Payton was backstage and hadn’t packed up yet and fixed her up.
After the show before going out to eat Emma drags Drew into one of the bathrooms outside the auditorium and locks the door and asks if it’s true.
“Did Sydney admit she had feelings for you?”
“What?”
“It’s okay if you like her, I understand I mean look at her.”
“Emma, whoever told you that lied to you. Sydney likes Mia, and besides that, I like you.” Drew takes Emma’s hands into their own pulling her in for a kiss, it lingers and the taste of Emma’s chapstick lingers on Drew’s tongue long after the kiss. “Now come on, Sydney’s saving room for both of us in Mia’s car.”
Michael Harrison:
Michael manages the jealousy the worse, and somehow gets himself a part in the play as Kenickie He wants to be backstage and play a part in the play to keep on eye on everyone, sure he knows that Drew would never fall for someone else or cheat on him, but that doesn’t stop his mind from betraying him and making him act a fool about it.
He takes awhile to warm up to Sydney since their characters are friends and get forced into a friendship bonding trip with her to pick up costumes at the mall and finds out for himself that Sydney isn’t so bad, and realizes he got himself a part in this play for no reason. That is until he’s about to quit and Drew and Sydney are rehearsing a kissing scene and he’s filled with jealousy again.
After the opening night of the play he’s still entirely jealous and nothing helps calm down his jealous streak, something rubs him the wrong way about Drew kissing someone that is not him, he can’t seem to help himself, as he makes snide remarks at Sydney expense, to the point that Drew excuses the both of them to leave before dinner even arrived.
“Why are you acting like this Michael?”
“I’m sorry, I just get really jealous.”
“Sydney likes Mia, Michael, they’re practically dating. You have nothing to be worried about.” Drew assures him, pulling him closer to them their lips a breath apart, as they rest their hand on his cheek, running their thumb comfortingly back and forth. “I love you, not Sydney. So shut up and kiss me and apologize to Sydney tomorrow and stop being a douche.”
“Okay.” Michael grins, before crashing his lips against Drew’s passionately, pulling them close to him his hands falling on their back, in soothing circles, as their kiss lingers and Michael smirks to himself, feeling a little like a goon after his behavior.

Summer Film Preview: 27 of the Most Anticipated Movies of the Season!
Among ET's 90 top picks for summer are our 27 most anticipated films of the season.
Every summer, there is no shortage of new films to blow audiences away at theaters -- and blow away records at the box office. This summer, things are looking especially massive. Blockbuster season kicks off in a huge way with the highly anticipated back-to-back releases of Deadpool 2and Solo: A Star Wars Story, ushering in an onslaught of franchise films with new installments of Jurassic World, Marvel's Ant-Man, Mission: Impossible and The Purge.
Not everything is a sequel, though. Of the originals is the eagerly awaited adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians, marking the first time a major studio has produced an all-Asian-led film since The Joy Luck Club; Spike Lee's latest, BlacKkKlansman; and -- because it wouldn't be summer without one -- a shark attack flick, The Meg, starring Jason Statham.
But no matter what you’re looking forward to, there's plenty to choose from among these 27 sure-to-be hit films.
Deadpool 2 (Out Now)
The Deadpool sequel is bigger, louder and packed with more violence and superpeople, dick jokes and fourth wall-breaking meta-ness than the original X-Men-adjacent movie. And while that all sounds like a recipe for a bloated case of sequelitis, Ryan Reynolds and co. not only pull it off, but top the first.
Directed by: David Leitch | Written by: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams
Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25)
Forget everything you think you know about the legendary smuggler and prepare for the unexpected. That's the best advice we can give you about Star Wars' latest anthology installment, which, sure, features the Kessel Run and Han Solo and Chewbacca's origin story, then blasts off for so much more.
Directed by: Ron Howard | Written by: Jonathan Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan Starring: Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke
American Animals (June 1)
The Orchard / MoviePass Ventures
According to the minds behind American Animals, while most movies are based on a true story, this one is a true story, about four college students who plan "one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history." It also marks the first appearance on this list by the true star of the summer movie season: Ann Dowd.
Directed by: Bart Layton | Written by: Bart Layton Starring: Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, Blake Jenner, Jared Abrahamson, Ann Dowd
Hereditary (June 8)
A24
Following its screening at Sundance earlier this year, Hereditary was hailed as the scariest horror movie in years -- if not of all time. As for what actually transpires in the film, well, that is best left vague. Brace yourself for hypnotically unnerving tongue pops and flashbacks to Toni Collette's iconic turn in The Sixth Sense.
Directed by: Ari Aster | Written by: Ari Aster Starring: Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, Ann Dowd
Ocean's 8 (June 8)
This year's Met Gala might as well have been early promo for Ocean's 8, which centers on another heist-happy Ocean, Debbie, who assembles a team of women to help rob a fictional Met Gala. (If you do some simple math, it seems Anne Hathaway's mark is one of the eight, too.) Unfortunately, Rihanna will likely not be dressed as a sexy pope.
Directed by: Gary Ross | Written by: Gary Ross and Olivia Milch Starring: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna
Won't You Be My Neighbor? (June 8)
Focus Features
If you were a child in the '60s -- or '70s, '80s, '90s, the aughts, really, if you were a child ever -- then Won't You Be My Neighbor? will be a nostalgic return to your younger years, a look at the long-running and formative TV series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and the man behind it, the late Fred Rogers.
Directed by: Morgan Neville
Hearts Beat Loud (June 8)
Gunpowder & Sky
This gem of an indie is for anyone who has ever wished Nick Offerman could be your best friend, your dad or both: Kiersey Clemons plays Offerman's daughter and reluctant bandmate as they navigate fame and family in Hearts Beat Louder. Sprinkle in a queer romance and an earworm-y soundtrack, and what more could you ask for?
Directed by: Brett Haley | Written by: Brett Haley and Marc Basch Starring: Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Toni Collette, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner
Hotel Artemis (June 8)
Global Road Entertainment
Read this logline: "Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis is a high-octane action-thriller starring Jodie Foster as The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals." Now re-read that sentence over and over and over until you go insane and this becomes your most anticipated movie of the year.
Directed by: Drew Pearce | Written by: Drew Pearce Starring: Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Zachary Quinto, Sterling K. Brown, Jeff Goldblum
Incredibles 2 (June 15)
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
It has been well over a decade since the original Incredibles arrived in theaters and, even now, under the looming threat of superhero saturation, that first film remains one of the best superhero movies period. Finally, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack are back, with Frozone and, of course, Edna.
Directed by: Brad Bird | Written by: Brad Bird Starring: Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush
Tag (June 15)
Warner Bros. Pictures
This is a movie about tag -- as in, the game in which you tag someone and they are then "it." Specifically, Tag is about a group of childhood buddies who have been playing tag one month out of the year, every year, for 30 years. If you are wondering, Where do they come up with this?!, it was a Wall Street Journal article.
Directed by: Jeff Tomsic | Written by: Rob McKittrick and Mark Steilen Starring: Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb
Damsel (June 22)
Magnolia Pictures
If you hear that Robert Pattinson is starring in a Western, you probably have a notion of what that film is. Damsel is not the movie you're imagining, guaranteed -- unless, of course, you pictured a screwball comedy about a pioneer who voyages west with a drunkard and a miniature horse named Butterscotch.
Directed by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner | Written by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner Starring: Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, David Zellner
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 22)
In the colossally successful Jurassic World, the dinosaurs destroyed the park, as dinosaurs are wont to do, and now Isla Nublar is threatening to destroy the dinosaurs. Thus, Claire and Owen are enlisted to help save the dinosaurs from a second extinction -- and that's only the beginning of this adventure.
Directed by: J.A. Bayona | Written by: Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, James Cromwell, Justice Smith
Under the Silver Lake (June 22)
A24
Something about those hot summer nights must make us itch for a mystery, because this is yet another noir-y flick arriving in cineplexes, albeit a very modern take on the genre. Andrew Garfield plays a stoner Angelino who begins sleuthing when his dream girl disappears in the middle of the night without a trace.
Directed by: David Robert Mitchell | Written by: David Robert Mitchell Starring: Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Topher Grace, Jimmi Simpson
The First Purge (July 4)
Universal Pictures
There's something almost comforting about knowing that every (sometimes every other) Independence Day brings a new installment in the ongoing Purge franchise. Who knew a nutty little murder flick could have so much steam? This one goes back to the beginning and the invention of a government-sponsored killing spree.
Directed by: Gerard McMurray | Written by: James DeMonaco Starring: Lex Scott Davis, Y'lan Noel, Luna Lauren Velez, Joivan Wade, Marisa Tomei
Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6)
Consider the Ant-Man sequel a respite for those still reeling over the ending of Infinity War, a plucky comedic romp about heroes who shrink, supersize and now fly, too, which probably won't leave you frantically wiping away tears as the theater lights come on. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer plays a superhero!
Directed by: Peyton Reed | Written by: Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari and Paul Rudd Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Peña
Sorry to Bother You (July 6)
Annapurna Pictures
There is original, and then there is Sorry to Bother You. If a stranger, more out-there film has ever been made, I haven't seen it. I've never seen anything like this, a satiric tale about a telemarketer who uses his "white voice" to get ahead that feels at once painstakingly plotted and completely free-associated.
Directed by: Boots Riley | Written by: Boots Riley Starring: Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer
Whitney (July 6)
Whitney is not the first documentary to turn the lens on Whitney Houston in the years since her 2012 death, but it is the first to be endorsed by her estate, featuring interviews with loved ones of Houston who had never spoken publicly before and bombshell revelations that made news ahead of Whitney's official release.
Directed by: Kevin Macdonald
Eighth Grade (July 13)
A24
You know how adults always say, "I'm so happy I didn't grow up when there was social media." Watch this Sundance drama, comedian Bo Burnham's directorial debut, and feel that tenfold, alternately a cringey and heartwarming look at what it means to be coming into your own -- yes, with YouTube and Twitter.
Directed by: Bo Burnham | Written by: Bo Burnham Starring: Elsie Fisher, Josh Hamilton
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (July 20)
Is Meryl Streep's character still alive for the Mamma Mia! sequel? Supposedly. We do know that we will see a younger version of Donna (played by Lily James) as the ABBA singalong jumps back in time to show the Dynamos' origin story, while in the present, Donna's daughter is pregnant with a baby of her own.
Directed by: Ol Parker | Written by: Ol Parker Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Lily James, Colin Firth, Cher
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (July 27)
Paramount Pictures
After successfully completing five other supposedly impossible missions, whatever Ethan Hunt is tasked with in Fallout should be considered mission: pretty difficult but manageable. Still, Tom Cruise continues to up the ante in insane and preposterous ways, like jumping out of a plane at 25,000 feet, for one.
Directed by: Christopher McQuarrie | Written by: Christopher McQuarrie Starring: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett
Christopher Robin (Aug. 3)
If you enjoyed last year's period drama Goodbye Christopher Robin, about the real boy who inspired the creation of Winnie the Pooh, then you are sure to enjoy this, too, Disney's less historical, more fantastical tale about grown-up Christopher Robin and how Pooh and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood gang help him rediscover his imagination.
Directed by: Marc Forster | Written by: Alex Ross Perry Starring: Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Jim Cummings, Chris O'Dowd, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones
The Spy Who Dumped Me (Aug. 3)
I would pay money to watch Kate McKinnon read the phone book. Thankfully, she gets much more to do in this action-comedy, in which Mila Kunis plays the unwitting woman dumped by a spy. McKinnon plays her bestie, and the two quickly find themselves in over their heads trying to stop a terrorist group and save the world.
Directed by: Susanna Fogel | Written by: David Iserson and Susanna Fogel Starring: Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, Sam Heughan, Gillian Anderson, Justin Theroux
BlacKkKlansman (Aug. 10)
Focus Features
Spike Lee is back with his latest joint, the so-crazy-it-must-be-true saga of Ron Stallworth, the first black police officer in Colorado Springs, and his undercover operation to infiltrate a local Ku Klux Klan chapter, which was so successful that he eventually became its head.
Directed by: Spike Lee | Written by: Spike Lee, David Rabinowitz, Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott Starring: John David Washington, Adam Driver, Topher Grace, Laura Harrier
The Meg (Aug. 10)
Warner Bros. Pictures
No summer is complete without a silly shark attack movie, and for the summer of 2018, The Meg fits that bill and then some. First of all, the shark in question is a megalodon, which basically just means a REALLY BIG F**KING SHARK, and hopefully Jason Statham will punch it at some point, right?
Directed by: Jon Turteltaub | Written by: Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber Starring: Jason Statham, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Bingbing Li, Cliff Curtis, Masi Oka
Crazy Rich Asians (Aug. 17)
Based on the bestselling novel by Kevin Kwan, Crazy Rich Asians is about a Chinese American professor who travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family and discovers they are -- you guessed it -- crazy rich! Hijinks ensue. This is also the first Hollywood movie with a majority Asian cast in 25 years, i.e., crazy overdue.
Directed by: Jon M. Chu | Written by: Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim Starring: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (Aug. 17)
Netflix
Here's one YA fans have been waiting for. Based on the bestselling novel by Jenny Han, the title refers to letters our heroine, Lara Jean Covey, writes to her past crushes, love letters they are never meant to see -- but do, after they're accidentally mailed out. You don't need to head to the cinema to swoon over this one; it's streaming on Netflix.
Directed by: Susan Johnson | Written by: Sofia Alvarez Starring: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Emilija Baranac, Israel Broussard, John Corbett
The Happytime Murders (Aug. 17)
Nothing says summertime like puppets snorting ecstasy and soliciting sex. The Happytime Murders -- no lie, from the same director as The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island -- is about police partners, one felt and one Melissa McCarthy, investigating who is shooting the stuffing out of puppets.
Directed by: Brian Henson | Written by: Todd Berger Starring: Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks, Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale

We Asked 10 Beer Pros: What’s the Best Hard Seltzer Right Now?
As we recently discussed on our podcast, the hugely successful hard seltzer category is rapidly evolving. One impetus of that development is the growing number of small and regional brewers entering the remunerative space, which is dominated by big brands such as White Claw (Mark Anthony Brands) and Truly (Boston Beer). (Incidentally, these brands are increasingly cutting into beer’s market share.)
Craft brewing companies across the country are producing their own takes on the fizzy, low-calorie alcoholic beverage, often with creative and interesting results. Evil Twin Brewing in Ridgewood, Queens, showcases nostalgic flavors such as gummy bears, cola, and rainbow sherbet in its line of pastry-style spiked seltzers, Evil Water. Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing, meanwhile, turns to terpenes, the compounds that give some marijuana strains their distinct aromas, to fragrance its Hydroponics hard seltzers.
It’s no surprise craft brewers would beget innovations in the spiked-seltzer segment, even as the tidal trend threatens their core business. With that, VinePair decided it was time to pose the question to brewers and brewery staff members across the country: What’s the best hard seltzer out there right now? Are you bubbling with anticipation for their picks? Let’s get to it!
The Best Hard Seltzers Recommended By Beer Pros:
Wild Basin Hard Seltzers by Oskar Blues
Vibez Hard Seltzers by Aslin Beer Company
Brewery X’s Cocktail-Inspired Hard Seltzers
Untitled Art’s Florida Seltzers
Truly Hard Seltzer
MIA Brewing’s HRD WTR
3 Daughters Brewing’s Hard Seltzers
Evil Twin’s Evil Water
Keep reading for details about all of the recommended hard seltzers!
“Wild Basin, which Oskar Blues puts out. The flavors are top notch, and aren’t oversaturated with extracts.” —James Carlyle, Head Brewer, Ingenious Brewing Company, Humble, Texas
“I enjoy all six flavors of the Vibez line by Aslin Beer Company in Alexandria, Va., but the mango lime ginger is my go-to. The flavor combination works well without tasting artificial, and the carbonation is just right. Plus, I’m a sucker for ginger. It’s hard to find a good craft seltzer that doesn’t taste like a kettle sour gone bad, in my opinion, so I commend those that can do so!” —Lindsay Trigoboff, Brewer, Bond Brothers Beer Company, Cary, N.C.
“Anaheim’s Brewery X usually offers around four hard seltzers, and some of them are even cocktail-inspired, like Mai Tai and Margarita, which is smart. I truly (see what I did there?) never thought I would like a hard seltzer or be the person to brew one, but the kiwi passionfruit changed that for me, with its bold flavors and dry finish. Your friends will want to claw (did it again!) at one if you show up with these at a party!” —Jess Mitchell, Assistant Brewer, Refuge Brewery, Temecula, Calif.
“I can be one of those old sticks in the mud. I was vocal about not drinking or producing hard seltzers. I felt, like many, it was signaling an unwelcome change in the industry. Now, I admit I drink my weight weekly in a mix of Topo Chico and La Croix, so I have long enjoyed carbonated water. I came to realize that hard seltzers aren’t so different from fruited sours, hazy IPAs, pastry stouts, or ‘insert popular new beer style’ upon its initial rise. It’s all a matter of perspective, and bucking tradition. I was at The Whale bar in Asheville, and my buddy came over with this fizzy little glass and said not to say anything, to just try it. I instantly knew it was a hard seltzer, and could no longer deny the deliciousness. The bubbly drink happened to be from Untitled Art’s Florida Seltzer line, guava and prickly pear. Now it’s got me thinking, maybe we should go hard seltzer.“ —Todd DiMatteo, Co-owner and brewer, Good Word Brewing & Public House, Duluth, Ga.
“I like hard seltzer because it’s a great, light-bodied alternative to beer and cider. What I look for generally is one that’s mildly flavored, not overwhelmingly sweet. Truly’s orange flavor hits that mark, and it’s even more refreshing on tap.” —Mariquita Reese, Brewer, Sloop Brewing Co., East Fishkill, N.Y.
“It was probably late 2015 when I was handed my first hard seltzer from MIA Brewing. They had just rolled out HRD WTR in a number of different flavors, and if I remember correctly, in crowlers too. But I’ll never forget my first pint of the cucumber. I remember thinking to myself, ‘this is going to explode within the industry.’” —Taylor Pogue, Social Media Director, Calusa Brewing, Sarasota, Fla.
“I buy Truly. I find myself rotating between the lemonade and berry mix packs most often. If I’m picking an outright favorite flavor, I’m going with blueberry and açaí, but a friend turned me on to mixing the lemonade flavors 50/50 with Twisted Tea, and I’m willing to admit that’s a damn fine pool beverage. I’ll also drop some fresh lime juice and cilantro into the lime Truly. So good! We also recently released a line of Contact High hard seltzers in blueberry lemonade, pineapple, and tangerine flavors, and of those, the pineapple is my favorite.” —Jeremy Danner, On-premise Specialist and Brand Ambassador, 4 Hands Brewing Company, St. Louis
“I’m a self-described ‘sparkle head,’ and I think the hard seltzer that sold me was HRD WTR from MIA Beer Company. A great friend of mine brought some back from Miami after a trip, handed me a can of the pineapple coconut flavor, and I was hooked. It was like a much more enjoyable Piña Colada Slurpee: clean, refreshing, and effervescent. It’s such an enjoyable drink, I crave it. Unfortunately for me, it’s not available in California, but it did serve as the inspiration for our own THINGS Piña Colada seltzer.” —Eric Silva, Director of Sales and Distribution, Brouwerij West and THINGS … For Your Head, San Pedro, Calif.
“The hard seltzers from 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Petersburg, Fla., are a little different from the others I’ve experienced from larger companies. I didn’t think the profile was as neutral-tasting, which I actually liked.” —Derek Howard, Co-owner and Pizza Czar, Bad Dad Brewing Co., Fairmount, Ind.
“I have to give a huge shout-out to Evil Twin’s Evil Water for pushing us to do our own hard seltzer, Turbøwater, specifically after trying the marshmallow Piña Colada, made in collaboration with 8th State. We’ve always been about that tropical stee-lø at Hoof. We had been up until that point nonplussed on the entire hard seltzer arena, but Jeppe [Jarnit-Bjergsø, founder of Evil Twin Brewing and Evil Water] has brought his creativity into the game and nailed it. Frooty and Rich AF, yet still water. Mind blown.” —Blake Volk, Brewer, Hoof Hearted Brewing, Marengo, Ohio

There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 110+ Sami faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - examples are linked!
