Regressors! Aiden & Tom w/o Caregiver

(^^ Near the end of the story, Gabby acts as their caregiver, but for most of the story they’re on their own.)

Originally, Tom and Aiden had left the campground to go check the traps they had put out in the woods, but instead they were both running through the forest while playing tag.

They both ended up regressing after about fifteen minutes of walking in the forest. Aiden was the one who regressed first and to the age of two years old.

Tom quickly regressed after him, due to holding it off for so long that when Aiden regressed, it triggered him to do the same.

Tom was about four years old, so both boys were very young and definitely shouldn’t be alone in the woods. Though, neither of them cared and were just running and playing in the forest.

Aiden was giggling while running away from Tom, since he was trying to tag him. Tom quickly caught up and tagged him, though he was too rough with it, as he ended up accidentally pushing Aiden to the ground.

Tom gasped as he went over to Aiden, who had started to whine a little.

“Oh no! ‘M sorry!” Tom apologized and sat beside of Aiden. “Owie..” Aiden muttered as he wiped the small tears that had formed in his eyes.

“You okay? You hurt?” Tom questioned. Aiden shook his head. “Okay..jus’ hurt lil.” He quietly answered.

Aiden stood up, stumbling a little as he got back on his feet. He didn’t have the best balance, considering he was very young at the moment.

This wasn’t the first time he had fallen during the game of tag today either, it was just the first time that Tom had tagged him a little too hard.

“We ‘till play tag?” Tom asked as he stood up as well. Aiden shook his head while raising his fist up to his eye.

“P’aying too long. ‘M sweepy..” Aiden responded as he rubbed his eye. “We go? ‘S gettin’ dark.” Tom looked up at the sky, and yeah, it was definitely getting dark outside. They’ve been out there for hours.

“Uh..yeah. You know how to get back?” Aiden shook his head once more. “You no know?” Tom gave the same response and shook his head with a small whimper.

“‘M scared..don’ wanna be lost..” Tom mumbled, nervously fidgeting with his fingers. Aiden also seemed very nervous, but instead of playing with his fingers, his eyes began to tear up while his lip quivered.

“No no no! Please don’ cry!” Tom panicked, but of course Aiden didn’t listen, he couldn’t help it. Loud sobs came from Aiden, which only stressed Tom out even more.

Tom whimpered repeatedly and paced back and forth, trying to relax. It was impossible though. He was regressed, lost in the forest, and now had to deal with an extremely upset and scared Aiden.

Tom paced around for a little bit, before looking over at Aiden. Aiden was hugging himself while continuing to sob.

“Is okay, Aiden. We..we can find a way back.” Tom spoke with very little confidence. “We can?” Tom hesitantly nodded.

“Uh..uh-huh!” He said. “We gotta go now. ‘S getting really dark out.” Tom told him. He grabbed Aiden’s hand and led him through the woods.

Tom had no idea which way they needed to go, but it was better than just staying in one spot and crying the whole time.

Aiden had somewhat calmed down. He didn’t seem as scared as before, but he was still upset and sleepy. Plus, him and Tom had been walking for a while now. His feet were tired.

Tom kept walking with Aiden, until suddenly he stopped. Tom turned to Aiden, who was now pouting.

“We gotta go, Aiden!” Tom spoke with a worried tone as he tugged Aiden’s arm, trying to get him to move.

“No! Don’ wanna walk!” Aiden cried out. Tom whined quietly while Aiden cried, before picking him up.

Aiden’s crying stopped and he relaxed in Tom’s arms as he was carried through the woods.

Tom continued to walk until it was completely dark outside. That’s when he gave up, he wasn’t going to be able to find the camp in the dark.

A whimper came from Tom as he sat on the ground, which startled Aiden a bit, since he was half asleep.

“Never gonna get back!” Tom sobbed. “Gonna be lost forever!” Of course saying that made Aiden immediately start crying with Tom.

Both boys just sobbed, until they could hear the sound of footsteps. That made them both become quiet out of fear.

“Tom? Aiden?” A familiar voice called out. After that, Tom saw someone walking towards him and Aiden.

“Gabs!” Tom exclaimed. He stood up with Aiden and quickly ran over to Gabby.

“What happened to you two?” Gabby questioned as she ran her fingers through Tom’s hair. “We got lost!” He responded.

“You got lost?” Both boys nodded. “How you find us?” Tom asked.

“Well, I was sitting by the fire, and I could hear crying. You two weren’t far away from our camp at all, it’s just about thirty feet away. Maybe even less.” Gabby explained.

“Not lost no more?” Aiden asked in a soft voice. Gabby shook her head. “Nope!” She answered as she grabbed Tom’s hand.

“Follow me! I’ll lead you two back to the tent!” Gabby smiled. Tom held her hand and continued to hold Aiden as he went with Gabby. It was only a matter of seconds, before they were back at camp.

“Ellie and Tess are both sleeping, so try to be quiet.” Gabby whispered as she had both Aiden and Tom sit on one of the logs.

“We found some fruit earlier today. Why don’t you guys eat some of that for dinner, okay?” Gabby suggested as she handed Tom and Aiden some fruit.

“Thanks, Gabs!” Tom quietly giggled while eating his fruit. Aiden ate his fruit as well, but stayed silent while doing so, as he still felt very sleepy.

Once both boys ate, Gabby took them into the tent. She made sure they, plus herself, were as quiet as possible.

Tom and Aiden quickly got changed into their pajamas, with a bit of help from Gabby. Gabby then got Aiden put in his sleeping bag.

“Night night, Aiden.” Tom whispered quietly with a smile on his face. “Sweet dreams, buddy.” Gabby whispered as well.

Aiden let out a tiny hum as he looked up at both Gabby and Tom.

Once Aiden was settled, Gabby helped Tom with his sleeping bag.

“Goodnight, Tom. Sweet dreams.” Gabby spoke quietly. “Night night, Gabs.” Tom whispered back with a small yawn.

Gabby ruffled his hair a bit, before going over to her sleeping bag and going to bed as well. In the morning, she would definitely talk to Tom and Aiden about how dangerous it was to play in the woods with no one around while little.

yeahh. a few weeks after ev got her situated her and wyatt staying with him, curt brought his happy ass down to west virginia to whop the guys ass. grew up with an abusive father that beat his mama, and ev said he could do it (: down he comes

curt rocks up to his house when ev is at work…and helen went over there bc the guy called asking her to come over because he needed to talk to her. <\3

curt pulls up and sees liddol wyatt playing with his hot wheels on the guy’s front porch where helen left him while she went inside and his heart just drops. feels like he’s looking at himself as a little boy when his mom was constantly going back to his dad/never actually leaving him. crouches down to talk to him a lil and ask him where mama is.

wyatt is the sweetest little guy it breaks his heart. asks curt to p’ay cars? with him and curt promises he will when he gets mama and they go home.

goes inside and helen and the guy truly are just talking. but curt is. so pissed. and helen gets pissed that here’s there <\3 says she doesn’t know what type of rambo mission this is but he needs to leave. this is crazy- she’s allowed to talk to the guy she still has things she needed from his place. wyatt is fine, left the door open so i could see him. it makes curt so agitated and Itchy when she’s telling him all this while the bruises from before she left the guy haven’t even fully faded.

asks her why she left wyatt outside if she thinks she should be here right now and when she looks at him like a deer in the headlights he gives her the same look he used to give his mom when he got old enough to be pissed at her. and hates being so harsh on her but. knows she needs it to get out of this loop.

when her and wyatt are in the car he does go back into the house to whop the guy as intended lmao. tells him if he so much as thinks about contacting her again he’s gonna come back with a gun. and is especially mad now because he sees even more of his mother in helen than he did before. breaks the guys nose before he slams the door and leaves.

trails her car back to ev’s house and gives her space for a little bit, plays cars with wyatt but then ev is home. and was expecting curt to be there but can tell something is. super super off. helen doesn’t tell him right away, keeps lookin at curt all skittish like she’s expecting him to snitch. but he looks at her with wyatt in his lap- wyatt who got a little scared by the door slamming when ev came home, and is like. hel, you gotta tell him- not gonna do you any good if i do.

and ev just ??? tell me what ???

he’s is so sad. when helen tells him. isn’t her boyfriend yet so it’s not that kind of sad but. he didn’t have the upbringing curt did so he can’t quite wrap his head around the whole Going Back thing. tells her she shoulda called him, he would’ve talked her down- didn’t need to bring wyatt within a 100 feet of that guys house helen, let alone yourself what were you thinking what if you got hurt-

it’s something they squabble about for weeks. and a squabble that is heightened by the fact that ev and helen do love each other a lot and. in a way that they both know is deeper than just friends.

but curts hangs out for another week or two and him and wyatt gets so attached to him. makes him feel Safe and makes him laugh and play cars with him. 3/3 for the best uncle scoreboard. curt sees so much of himself in him and is so protective of him. something that extends all the way to 20 years later when wyatt comes back from being missing <\3. curt is a huge support for him then, especially when ev is struggling to be.

shy little!dubu was so good! exactly the way i pictured her being honestly. i can imagine her and little!hyo get along well when they're regressed together.

ohmy i’m imagining mostly dahyun and hyo just playing together but not a single word makes sense between them, other than each others’ names or dahyun generally regressing older than hyo and dahyun being so happy to be an unnie to hyo. i think hyo would try to share with dahyun (probably her snacks or a toy that hyo really likes) and their cgs watch behind them just in case something goes wrong only to be really surprised when hyo mumbles something like “hyunnie, p’ay?”

little!hyo can be temperamental because her emotions feel so big to her, but when she’s in a happy mood, she’s just lovey and the sweetest little girl. i imagine little!hyo as always trying to express how much she loves everyone, and little!dubu seems to just, understand how much hyo loves everyone. and little!dubu is beyond affectionate, wanting to of course, baby the baby. it works out for both of the littles! all and all, when both of them are regressed together, it’s hard to get them to separate because dahyun loves the way hyo looks at her with those wide and trusting eyes, like dahyun can protect her from the world. dubu is second to only hyo’s mamas, even when dahyun isn’t little with her.
