The need for guidance from someone like her, someone who knew what it was like to want to win, to own the violence. To take victory as brutally as needed and to wear it like a crown.

"Morning," she said, holding out a coffee, exactly his order (according to an Avox she'd threatened). "Alecta Beckwourth. One. But don't let that get in the way of the dazzling partnership we're about to form, considering you're my mentor now."

It was a gorgeous flower, the kind she would have chosen for her own home back in One. And on Rio, it took on an alluring quality, something strange and enticing. Cress chuckled, smoothing the fabric around it as though it could soothe Rio's fiery nature. "Always so quick to bite," she assessed. "I'll not be at odds with you, Odair. We're friends, and if you won't concede to that, then allies." Finished with her handiwork, Cress returned to her drink, refusing to give air to flame. "Without ulterior meaning, I have missed your presence lately. Have you been making yourself scarce?"

Unimpressed, Rio spared Cress a glance. "You're so dramatic, and whatever the fuck for?" Still, there wasn't a single complaint when Cress fixed the flower onto his chest for him. That changed when Cress continued to speak. Rio's brows twitched, head tilting to the side. "Are you saying I don't always look good? Don't beat around the bush, Meadowforge, say it to my face." The drawl of his voice was teasing, but the almost imperceptible twinkle in his eyes spoke of something more serious.

Mahlon rolled his eyes, lazy grin unflinching in the face of yet another obstinate Odair. He'd been dealing since they dragged his ass back to the Tower the cycle after his own, ten years ago. Rio had been, what, fourteen? Barely reapable? He didn't need business insight from a prettyboy Career. "I liked you better when Cat did the talkin'," he leaned back, arms folded. "Besides, no one fuckin' cares. Simply supplyin' a demand, Odair. So? You need somethin', or you just came to share some unwanted fuckin' advice?"

"You're just fucking early," Rio grumbled back, a deep furrow to his brows. "This is the shadiest fucking meeting you could've picked, you know that right? If anyone didn't know you were dealing shit, they definitely know now."

**ROR family HCs**

Worthingtons- This family thinks they’re so perfect and amazing, they don’t even realize their own flaws. They only surround themselves with monsters who reach their level of status (though they still usually hang out with monsters they deem “less” than them to hide their own insecurities). They strive to make everyday a day to be great, and all they have high expectations of each other and themselves- which causes conflict a lot more than results.

Rios- A very quiet family, not quite far off from the Worthington’s but less open with their feelings, though that doesn’t except them from being just as quick to look down on others like the rest of the families.

Jacob’s- This family is proud in places they shouldn’t be. They are loud about their wealth and success, and show it off at any time. They treat their kid like the best thing on earth and refuse to see their flaws. They talk shit. Reggie probably found out they had paid off the school to let him in and he was crushed cause he thought he made it by himself (he did, but knowing his parents did that made him doubt himself)

Alexander’s- The worst out of all the families. Snobby, refuse to take criticism, and aggressive; it’s shocking to see how Chet turned out to be such a chill dude under their care. They are the closest to the Worthington’s.

Goff- They are relatively ok. They still have high expectations of their children and son, though they aren’t to keen on being around the other families, as they have been the butt of many jokes.

Boggs- HOLY SHIT. The most normal of normal families EVER. HEALTHY. Literally just a loving normal family that supports themselves through everything. They have family game nights. They have family therapy so they always have good communication with each other. Randall’s probably embarrassed with his parents cause of how doting they are in public. The rest of the RORs pretend they are not jealous.

Sullivans- Between Boggs and Goff; Sully has a very laid back family, though not without their flaws. A father who was a bit absent during his scaring years, and a mother who tries and lets Sully do whatever. Sully didn’t want to be a scarer, at first he just wanted his dad to play catch with him (he still practices throwing in case that day ever comes. He practiced with Dan one time and his world is changed forever). His dad probably plays golf.

Mine changes a lot,, it’s really the Ultra Gold one but nowhere around me sells them anymore so.. after that it’s the Ultra Peach and the Ultra Strawberry!!^_^
